A Reminder: Go Gold

Just a follow up to yesterday’s posting; it would seem that this would be a good time to invest in gold, even if you cannot afford the expensive stuff, a small investment in the cheaper stuff would be smart.

As you know I am an affiliate for GoldSilver.com  and they offer some great coins and bullion for those who wish to invest in that sort of the thing.

I think it is time to invest in Gold. I mean, when the fed chairman says he does not believe that Gold is money; something is horribly wrong.

Time for some clarity

I feel the need to write about something, which has been bugging me for a while now. I had always known that there was a certain subset of the Conservative movement, which was Anti-Semitic and racist. However, I felt that I could disagree with those people and still call myself a Paleo-Conservative. Indeed, I do very much highly disagree with those who believe in exporting Democracy to other Countries. However, something that occurred tonight forced me to confront the fact that the Anti-War, Paleo-Conservative/libertarian crowd was a bit more hateful than I thought.

First off, let me say this; indeed, I am skeptical of some of the goings on in Israel. Indeed, I am very critical of those who use their racial or ethnic background to get special treatment in this Country. However, my criticisms do not equate to the general hatred of Jews, neither does that equate to a hatred of Israel. Nor does it equate to the feeling that Israel does not have the right to exist as a Nation or that Israel should be destroyed. That my friend is unabashed hatred and that is something that I will not be a part of, at all.

As you all know, that read this blog; I am a user of the social media service called twitter. Tonight, I saw something on twitter that made me very angry. It appears that a particular online publication, which hails itself as a “libertarian” one; has a twitter account. I am referring to AntiWar.com. It appears that this site has a twitter account and on it, a link was posted to a story, in which a Palestinian girl was killed by Israeli border guards.

It was not so much the story that was posted, that I had such a problem with; it was the comment left, when the tweet was sent, it read:

Israeli police will not face trial over death of Palestinian girl – hey it’s not like she’s Jewish or something. feh. http://ind.pn/pjh8Mt

My friends, this is something that I just cannot and will not overlook. This anti-Semitic stereotype is so often bandied about regarding the Jews and Israel. This is nothing more, than leftist hatred; something that I cannot and will not support, ever.

So, as of today, the following changes are being made to this blog. I am, as of now, removing the label of Paleo-Conservative/libertarian/Classic Liberal from this blog. If that is what those two groups, being libertarian and Paleo-Conservative are truly about – I am done with them for good. I am a “right of center” that is what I always called myself. I simply put labels on it, so people could understand where it is that I come from. However, I feel that ignoring this and leaving the labels on the blog fosters the idea that I am someone supports that sort of hatred.

Further, I have removed the section on this blog, which brings the argument that “Racism” was the invention of a group of Marxist Jews from Germany that fled to America. While that might be true —- unfortunately, there are people out there, who use that argument to hide behind, so that they can continue to spew hatred towards Jews and Blacks —– I am not one of those people.

Further, I am going to find and display on my blog, in an obvious spot, a banner that declares that I STAND WITH ISRAEL —- as a Christian, I lay claim to that land, and one day, during the millennial reign of Christ, I will dwell in that land and judge Angels. That is what my Bible tells me.

This, admittedly, is a new place for me; and I feel a bit weird in it. However, when one stands for what he feels is morally right, sometimes, it has to be uncomfortable. Further, if those who disagree with this move of mine want to call me a neo-con, Jew Lover, Bush lover or warmonger — fine, let them. They are fools and one fine day, they will discover just how wrong they truly are.

It feels so good to be doing, what I feel is morally right.

Some straight talk to the progressive Blogosphere, from a former Democratic Party voter

I feel the need to write something here.  I am addressing this to the progressive bloggers here, not you my daily and normal readers of this blog.  Therefore, when I use the words, “You,” “You Guys” and “You people”; I am referring to the people on these two blogs that I am writing about, not you normal readers here.

—-

Hey, listen up chumps.  Because I am going to give you some very straight to the point talk about you and your moron President.  I call him YOUR fucking moron President and not mine, I did not vote for him, so do not try to pan that “Oh, he’s your president too!” horse manure on me, because I am not buying that at all.  Please, do not hand me the old “I suppose John McCain would have been better” routine, because I did not vote for him either.

You see, I used to be a Democrat; I used to vote for your party, ever since I was 18 years old.  I voted Democratic Party, because my Dad was a union worker, because my parents did, because I wanted to support the so-called “cause.”  I felt I was supporting the “Struggle” of the middle class every time I voted for your party.

I seem to remember that there were some very qualified people to be President and yet, your party threw those people over, for someone that you could actually rally someone around — a black person.  It would be the ultimate end to the “Jim Crow” era, of which your party championed.  Do you Remember, Douglas, of the Lincoln/Douglas debates?  Well, he was a Democrat.  Therefore, you all thought Barack Hussein Obama would be the ultimate victory.  So much for that idea, eh?

You chose style over substance, you chose Identity Politics over common sense.  You chose personality over proof of leadership; you chose an empty suit, who is more interested in an agenda over the future of your own damned party.  Such a tragic thing, too bad, so sad — now deal with your self-created garbage and shut the hell up and take what is coming to you, you silly idiotic morons.  You cast your own hopes, dreams, and aspirations on an inexperienced fool, who had about as much right to be President, as me.  Then your christened “Golden Boy” proceeded to defecate on you and the rest of your party.  My question to you is this; how does it feel to be played?

I seem to remember that there was a person — a woman, no less — who was a bit more of a moderate Democrat, who offered you the chance for America to succeed again.  However, you chose skin color over common sense.  I will confess, I was not a big fan of that woman and I still am not; due to some of the stupidity of her husband’s Presidential Administration — like the Waco debacle, for instance.

Why do you think that the Republican Party was determined to destroy her?  Because they knew that if they tried to run against her, they would lose and lose badly.  However, out of nowhere, here comes Barry, shooting past her, and the rest of the Democratic Party primary candidates, using a slogan he stole from another candidate and all of a sudden he was the new progressive Messiah.  Suddenly, the other white woman was “Old School,” “Old hat,” and part of the old way.  You people wanted to new, fresh and clean – non-offensive to your guilt laden white base.

Now, you are sitting around; looking and feeling like chumps, because you, as they say — were played.  Even your media, yes YOUR media, the enlightened media, of whom is ninety percent and your blogosphere, of whom I used to respect, because of how you held George W. Bush’s feet to the fire for six years — went into the tank for this chump and now look like a group of special education students with Tourette syndrome.  Honestly, pointing at OUR side, the Republican side, the Conservative side, or any side that disagrees with you — is stupid.  You really should point the finger at your own damned selves.  You have no one, nada, zero, nobody to blame — but yourselves.

You are also to blame for losing me.  Your treatment of war soldiers and war dead was and still is — fucking pathetic.  This is another reason, among many as to why I left your party!  I come from a family of people who served, you all treat them like shit, and for that, you lost me.  Not to mention all the bullshit that you pulled during the 2008 election cycle and now continue to pull.  I will never be a part political party that stokes division, ever.  Whether it is races, class, or whatever — that is bullshit and I will never be a part of it, ever.  Not to mention how you idiots like to herd people into groups and practice that “Group Thought” shit; I am not a sheep thank you very much!

In closing: Man up.  Yeah, that is correct — Man the fuck up!  Admit that you stupid fuckers made a huge assed fucking mistake, and get you someone who can run against that feckless idiot and maybe, just MAYBE, you all might win another election.  I highly doubt it, seeing this President is seriously kicked America and its people in the fucking jewels.  Nevertheless, it is worth a shot.  I mean, after all, the only fucking thing the Republican Party is running; is a psycho from Minnesota, a far right-wing crazy, a RINO, Two Mormon freaks and a pizza chain President — who knows nothing about the middle east.  Surely, you have SOMEONE you can run against that fucking freak show on our side! This is the same party that got prayer taken out of schools and abortion legalized; surely you can pull something together!

Again, I wrote this, not because I wanted to mock you people.  I wrote because it makes me sick to my stomach that the party that my family, including my parents and me, voted for, for many years — has turn into pile of damned waste.  The Party that Ronald Reagan once called the “honorable party” has turned into a cesspool of Marxism; the party that once, under the leadership of FDR, rescued the Jews from a disastrous fate, now treats Israel and its people, like dirt.

So, when I see this stupid, petty nonsense between bloggers on your side, I have to seriously laugh.  Because, as I said before — you have no one to blame for what is happening in America, with your party — but yourselves.

Jobs report bleak, Democrats still clueless as ever

Now I see why Rick Santelli is ranting and raving!

First of all, here is the lovely report via the NYT:

For the second month in a row, employers added a dismally small number of jobs, showing that the United States economy is barely creaking along despite being two years into the official recovery.

With all levels of government laying off workers, the Labor Department reported that employers eked out just 18,000 new nonfarm payroll jobs in June. The already low number of jobs created in May was also revised downward to just 25,000, less than half what was originally reported last month.

Even as the government’s survey of employers showed that they were adding an anemic number of jobs, a survey of households showed that more people were out of work, causing the unemployment rate to rise to 9.2 percent.

Economists were stunned since they had been expecting June to show stronger job creation as oil prices eased and supply disruptions receded in the aftermath of the Japanese tsunami and earthquake. Instead, the government’s monthly snapshot of the labor market showed that several sectors, including construction, finance and temporary services, actually shed workers. At the same time, leading indicators like wages and the length of the average workweek, which tend to grow before employers begin adding more jobs, actually contracted.

“Even the wild-eyed optimists out there have nothing to grasp onto in this report except to say, ‘Ah, this too shall pass,’ ” said Joshua Shapiro, chief United States economist at MFR Inc.

Meanwhile the stupidity continues on the left. A perfect example is found over at The Hill:

President Obama’s senior political adviser David Plouffe said Wednesday that people won’t vote in 2012 based on the unemployment rate.

Plouffe should probably hope that’s the case, since dismal job figures aren’t expected to get any better for Obama and the economy on Friday.

Most economists expect a report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics to show that the nation added about 100,000 jobs in June. That’s not enough to keep up with population growth, let alone lower the unemployment rate or make a dent in the 9 million jobs lost during the so called Great Recession.

[UPDATED: The jobs report released on Friday showed the economy added only 18,000 jobs, much less than anticipated. The unemployment rate creeped up to 9.2 percent.]

It’s looking more and more like Obama will have to do something no president has done since Franklin Roosevelt: Win reelection with unemployment around 8 percent.

I have a sinking feeling that Plouffe is making a seriously stupid miscalculation ; and one that the Republican Party is going to take full advantage of, come November 2012.

The stupidity continues over at the NYT, again with the stupidest Economist ever to be allowed to write for a paper:

Ugh. That was a seriously ugly jobs report. Almost no job creation, with slow private-sector growth offset by falling public-sector employment; a falling employment-population ratio; and (I don’t know how many people have picked this up), an actual decline in wages, albeit a small one.

Let me emphasize that last point. My bottom line on the inflation-deflation issue has always been to look at wages; you can’t have a wage-price spiral if wages ain’t spiraling. And they aren’t, to say the least.

It’s important to realize, by the way, that stagnant wages are NOT good for recovery; all they do is ensure that the burden of debt relative to income remains high, keeping demand and employment down.

The situation cries out for aggressively expansionary monetary and fiscal policy. Instead, however, all the political push is in the opposite direction.

The underlined part and the part above it; is where the stupidity really kicks in here. That stupidity above, is why this damned Nation is in the place that it is now. Because of stupid people like Krugman. These idiots, in a sane World, would be tossed out of this Country for causing one of the most horrible economic collapses in this Nation, since the great depression, which caused many Americans; Conservative and Liberal, to lose money that they rightly earned or invested in and profited from.

This is not to say that the Republican was not to blame; they too stood by and did nothing and for that they paid a price during the 2006 and 2008 election cycles. However, America was not fooled the Democrats proceeded to make some of, if not more, of the same mistakes that the Republican Party made, while in power. For this, they paid in 2010 and will pay again in 2012.

Further more, it was the DEMOCRATS, not the Republicans, who sought to game the housing market, with the Community Reinvestment act of 1973. Of which the Democrats added the sub-prime cause, which caused the Housing Market to become unstable; which essentially caused the markets to collapse. Yes, regulation was ripped out; but it was the adding of the sub-prime clause that caused the major problems that set the housing market up for a horrible downfall. I know, I watched it all happen here, in real-time, while blogging it all.

In fairness, I will say this; because I am not an overly partisan blogger. It also was the Neo-Conservatives, with their one war, that was totally unjustified in their idiotic visions of a Democratic middle east and the quagmire that it created, not to mention the millions spent and the lives lost; that also created this mess as well. If we would have fought the Afghanistan properly and not like we did Iraq; the war would have been much shorter and would have cost us much less money.

Video: Trailer: The Undefeated

It’s the Sarah Palin Movie. Personally, I loathe the woman, and this looks like a Sarah Palin propaganda movie. However, it looks like it might be a good movie, for a few good laughs perhaps? 😛

What this movie will not tell you; because the Sarah Palin cult never really tells the truth, is that Sarah Palin feels that she is entitled to be President of the United States, either because she is a woman or because she feels that it is some sort of bizarre calling for God himself. Which in the eyes of this Independent Fundamental Baptist is quite absurd.

I will not get into all the various reasons why I do not like Sarah Palin; the best thing to do, is go here and read all the posts tagged with her name, and then you will understand why it is that I detest this woman.

Again, it might be just be a good movie, but it is sole purpose is to promote all things shrieking harpy Palin.

Oh my: This could be a bit of a problem for Michelle Bachmann

Yikes!

Now to be fair to Michelle Bachmann and her Husband; they are Conservative Christians, I get that part. However, I would think Michelle Bachmann would know that she has appeal to independent voters; and this is not a good way to do this at all.

Now, I also know that this piece is a liberal hit job on Michelle Bachmann. However, there is another reason that this bugs me, the same reason that I did not want Mike Huckabee in the 2012 race, it feeds the Meme that Republicans and all Conservatives hate gay people. Something that I know is just plain bunk. I could care less what gay people do in the privacy of their homes. Just don’t try to push your agenda off on me, like the far leftist gays want to do.

Again, while I believe this to be a hit job; sometimes the things that people say to further and foster false narratives should be critiqued.

For once, I agree with Oliver Willis

Mark your calendars, because this does not happen often.

Neo-Conservative David Frum has went soft on Gay Marriage.

Well, the left is not buying this at all, especially not Oliver Willis, who recalls that David Frum said back in 2003:

War is a grim thing. But it is sometimes a necessary thing — and very often a clarifying thing. We have learned much in the opening hours of this war. We will learn more in the days ahead. When the Iraqi archives fall into Allied hands, we will learn about the complex structure of international terrorism over the past three decades. We may learn something too about the flow of money from Iraq into France and Germany — not only to French and German corporations, but very possibly to individuals, including senior political figures.

We will learn the full horror of what went on inside Iraq. The perfunctory condemnations of Saddam we hear from so many opponents of the war will suddenly look utterly inadequate in comparison to the nightmare cruelty of Saddam’s regime. Perhaps — is this too much to hope for? — the Arab intellectuals who kept silent about Saddam’s cruelty will be shamed out of nationalist pride into moral awakening; a moral awakening that will at last discredit terrorism and open the way to peace with Israel.

Finally, we will all learn something about ourselves and our political leaders. The months since 9/11 have been a moral test. The Bush administration has passed with flying colours. Its opponents have failed. Politics can be a long, slow business. But in the end, moral failure will be held to account — even in Canada.

To Which Oliver Willis Says:

So guys who enable bloodthirsty warmongering that leads to the deaths of thousands of Americans don’t get a pat on the back, no matter how their new position may be the right one.

Of this point and this point alone; do I wholeheartedly agree. Further more, I do not think people that say this here:

And now it is time to be very frank about the paleos. During the Clinton years, many conservatives succumbed to a kind of gloom. With Bill Bennett, they mourned the “death of outrage.” America now has non-metaphorical deaths to mourn. There is no shortage of outrage — and the cultural pessimism of the 1990s has been dispelled. The nation responded to the terrorist attacks with a surge of patriotism and pride, along with a much-needed dose of charity. Suddenly, many conservatives found they could look past the rancor of the Clinton years, past the psychobabble of the New Age gurus, past the politically correct professors, to see an America that remained, in every important way, the America of 1941 and 1917 and 1861 and 1776. As Tennyson could have said: “What we were, we are.”

America has social problems; the American family is genuinely troubled. The conservatism of the future must be a social as well as an economic conservatism. But after the heroism and patriotism of 9/11 it must also be an optimistic conservatism.
There is, however, a fringe attached to the conservative world that cannot overcome its despair and alienation. The resentments are too intense, the bitterness too unappeasable. Only the boldest of them as yet explicitly acknowledge their wish to see the United States defeated in the War on Terror. But they are thinking about defeat, and wishing for it, and they will take pleasure in it if it should happen.

They began by hating the neoconservatives. They came to hate their party and this president. They have finished by hating their country.

War is a great clarifier. It forces people to take sides. The paleoconservatives have chosen — and the rest of us must choose too. In a time of danger, they have turned their backs on their country. Now we turn our backs on them.

….Should get a back on the back or a pass either. I have not forgotten what this moron said and did to the Paleo-Conservatives and further more, I have no idea, why this man is being taken seriously anywhere, outside of the confines of his own damned house.  Frum is nothing more than a political chameleon, changing his “stripes” and colors to fit the changing political winds.

…and just to be a detestable smart ass, which is what I excel at anymore; did I also mention that this man is Jewish? That, if anything at all, should explain much about him.

Ooops! Bachmann cites the wrong John Wayne

Oh man….:

Here’s the video:

and the story:

Rep. Michele Bachmann kicked off her presidential campaign on Monday in Waterloo, Iowa, and in one interview surrounding the official event she promised to mimic the spirit of Waterloo’s own John Wayne.

The only problem, as one eagle-eyed reader notes: Waterloo’s John Wayne was not the beloved movie star, but rather John Wayne Gacy, the serial killer.

Mrs. Bachmann grew up in Waterloo, and used the town as the backdrop for her campaign announcement, where she told Fox News: “Well what I want them to know is just like, John Wayne was from Waterloo, Iowa. That’s the kind of spirit that I have, too.” (Someone has already posted the clip to YouTube under the name BachmannLovesGacy)

John Wayne, the movie legend, is in fact from Iowa and the John Wayne birthplace is a celebrated landmark — only it’s in Winterset, which is a nearly three hour drive away from Waterloo.

Gacy, though, had his first taste of the criminal life in Waterloo, where he lived for a short time, and where he had his first criminal conviction for an attempted homosexual assault, which landed him in prison for 18 months.

He would move back to Illinois, where his killing spree started, and lasted about six years. In 1980 he was convicted on 33 counts of murder, and was executed in 1994.

– – – – –

UPDATE:

The Bachmann campaign sent this explanation: “John Wayne is from Iowa, his parents lived in Waterloo.”

And indeed his parents did in fact live briefly in Waterloo — in fact, according to “Duke: The Life and Image of John Wayne,” it’s where they met. But soo

Classless: Chris Wallace asks Michelle Bachmann, “Are you a flake?”

Funny, I don’t recall him ever asking Obama that at all.

The Video:

Me and Ed Morrissey are on the same wavelength here:

I can understand why Chris Wallace asked this question. Given his guest’s propensity for gaffes, such as picking the name of a dead hero as a live Medal of Honor winner, botching a toast to Queen Elizabeth II, discussing the high points of the Austrian language, and several references to a military medic as a “corpseman,” it might be hard to take the person seriously.

Oh, wait — Wallace wasn’t interviewing Barack Obama after all…

[…]

Jim Hoft calls this “awful,” but it’s just the same old double standard applied to Republicans. We have yet to hear any serious coverage from the national media of Obama’s hundreds of gaffes while in the White House, just as we heard little of his “57 or 58 states” remark and other gaffes on the campaign trail, such as the six-month string that produced these doozies:

Did any of the national media ask Barack Obama in the summer of 2008 if he was a “flake”? Bachmann has not been without her gaffes, although she has improved her media interactions substantially since the “anti-American” comment in November 2008. But given Obama’s track record both before and after his election to the presidency, it would take a superhuman effort to vault into his league. And the media still mainly ignores Obama’s gaffes, which have grown into the hundreds, without a single outlet ever asking Obama if he is a “flake” on that same basis.

It could be that Wallace was giving Bachmann an opening to push back against the “flake” meme, but the fact that Bachmann’s having to respond to this rather than the gaffemaster in the White House is the real problem.

I hated to have to quote that whole thing; but I believe Ed is absolutely correct. Now, for the record, Wallace apologized, and there is video of that; However, I do not believe it is enough to say that he is sorry. I believe Chris Wallace should be removed from Fox News Sunday and someone else be put in his place. Asking questions like this, is unacceptable in professional journalism. Because quite frankly, it shows a sexist bias on Wallace’s part; and Fox News should not be allowed to get away with that sort of nonsense. Ed Schultz did not get away with it, when he called Laura Ingraham a right wing slut; and neither should Wallace.

More TSA woes

Check the story out over at Gateway Pundit.

Jim Hoft snarks:

It’s an Obama world…

Well, Jim, I’d buy that; but it not the Bush Administration’s failure to protect us on 9/11 that is the root of all of this? Why, Yes, I’d say it was! 🙄

You whiny ass bastards want to be protected from terrorism; but then you bitch when the TSA tries to protect everyone! 🙄

What Hoft and his friends want; is for Muslims to be segregated into one line, and everyone else into another line. There is only one problem with that stupid idea — last time I checked, this is not Israel, this is America and we treat everyone the same. I wonder if Hoft would like to see blacks segregated too? After all, he does link to items by the “White Council.

This here, is why the Neo-Conservative bloggers hate me; because I call them on their hypocrisy. Debbie Schlussel does it and gets called crazy; and every other slam under the sun — and I do too. Because I dare to call these bastards out, for what they are — racist, Neo-Nazi sympathizing bastards, who would sell their own damned mother up the river to make a cheap political point.

Sarah Palin: once a quitter, always a quitter

Now why I am not surprised?

Less than a month after she appeared poised to shake up the Republican presidential campaign, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has once again receded from the 2012 limelight.

When Palin launched her “One Nation” bus tour on Memorial Day amid a swirl of media attention and excitement from her fervent fan base, many political observers who had once dismissed her were reminded of the jolt that her candidacy could provide to what has thus far been a relatively sleepy GOP nominating fight.

As Palin toured historical sites along the East Coast, she was clearly reveling in the tangible excitement she’d ginned up: She even eagerly answered questions — from the denizens of the “lamestream” media — ranging from matters of political process to an array of issues facing the nation.

In an apparent repudiation to those who dismissed her trip as a mere publicity stunt, Palin’s openness with reporters about her intentions to visit Iowa and South Carolina — in addition to her highly scrutinized stop in the first-in-the-nation primary state of New Hampshire — lent credence to her repeated assertions that she was indeed seriously considering a White House bid.

Though Palin and her staff never announced a timeline for the remaining legs of her trip, aides had drafted preliminary itineraries that would have taken her through the Midwest and Southeast at some point this month. But those travel blueprints are now in limbo, RCP has learned, as Palin and her family have reverted to the friendly confines of summertime Alaska, where the skies are currently alight for over 19 hours a day and the Bristol Bay salmon fishing season is nearing its peak.

As Palin enjoys her sojourn to the 49th state, she has not reconnected with key early-state figures like Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, and she may have jeopardized whatever political momentum she gained from her recent reemergence in the 2012 discussion. Her political action committee’s website still greets visitors with a stale banner, announcing the nationwide bus tour beginning “[t]his Sunday, May 29th.”

More than a few of Palin’s core supporters have grown impatient and confused about her strategy, venting their frustration on Internet fan sites.

via RealClearPolitics – Palin Bus Tour Takes Extended Pit Stop.

Of course, there is a reason for this, it is because Sarah Palin’s tour was about nothing more, than Sarah Palin herself. It was a way to gain attention for herself. When the media lost interest, so did she. This was nothing more than a way to generate revenue for her “Conservatism for Kindergarteners” — style of written books of hers. Which are kind of like Ann Coulter’s books. (and before you ask; yes, I have read previews for both author’s books on my iPod, both author’s writings did nothing for me.)

Which leads me to my final comment; if you honestly believe that this woman is truly interested in the future of this Country or even gives a remote damn about the people that live in it —- you are crazy.  The only person that Sarah Palin gives a remote damn about; is herself. Everything she does, every move she makes, is all about her political future and her limelight image.  She reminds me of another rabid feminist; Hillary Clinton. The similarities are striking and she does the very same things.  The only striking difference is, that Hillary Clinton has actually worked for her political image and has some credibility to her resume and Sarah Palin does not.

Video: Bump in the road

It appears that Mitt Romney is picking up in the polls.

So, he is releasing videos like this:

It really will not matter much at all; polls or no polls, Romney is viewed by many as a “squish” in the Republican Party. The whole RomneyCare thing is seen by many as problematic. Plus too, most evangelical conservative Christians have huge distust of Romney’s Mormonism.

Not to mention the fact that the man straight up lied about supporting the Auto bailouts here in Detroit. So much in fact that former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm spoke up and said, “Oh please!”

So, while the video’s message might be good; and indeed, as someone who has been out of work since 2005 and does not see himself as a bump in the road either —- the person presenting this video is no better than the person who made the tone deaf statement.

Is Sarah Palin making the same fatal mistake as George W. Bush?

Honestly, I hate having to write stuff like this; but, as I have explained on this blog before —- this blog is not about partisan politics, nor it is about defending a particular political party. This blog, is about honesty, even when it is not popular.

Having said all that, John Ziegler over at the Daily Caller dishes on some brutal honesty about Sarah Palin:

But in spite of being approached by Sarah’s husband Todd only a month ago and specifically discussing the possibility, I won’t be working on any Palin presidential campaign. Why? Well, first of all, contrary to what geniuses like Andrew Sullivan and Howard Dean may want you to believe, there is absolutely no way that she can be elected. I’ve told this to her directly; more than once. While many pundits mistakenly think what she is doing is some Trump-like PR stunt, I’m pretty convinced she is running and in doing so will damage the prospects of any conservative defeating Barack Obama in 2012.

These aren’t my only concerns.

There’s also the fact that Sarah’s entire operation is increasingly managed like a CIA field office; that she’s adopted a bunker mentality; that she’s trusting the wrong people, some of whom I know are simply exploiting her. As a result, even those most loyal to her get tossed under the bus, with little or no effort to avoid the collateral damage. Which raises the question: if people like me who would once have taken a bullet for Sarah (and at least figuratively I did many times) can’t get behind her any more, what the hell happened?

Does any of that up there, that I underlined sound even vaguely familiar? It does to me; I seem to remember that President George W. Bush did the same thing; twice.  The first time, when he decided that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and decided to invade that Country. There were some well-known Conservatives who objected to that invasion, and they were called unamerican and where scorned by the Neo-Conservatives at the time.

The second time that this happened, was in 2006, when it became quite obvious that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. George W. Bush went fully into the bunker, and loyalists went with him; and any who even remotely was skeptical was left out in the cold.  This mentality continued up until the end of Bush’s Presidency, almost to the point when even hardened Bush supporting Conservatives, knew the man was wrong and just wanted him out of office. This was especially true after the “throwing of principles into the wind” and bailing out of the banks on Wall Street.

Defenders of Sarah Palin, like Ed Morrissey over at HotAir.com; where I saw the link to this story, says the following:

While comebacks in presidential politics are rare, they’re not unknown.  Richard Nixon lost a national election, and then lost a state election two years later, which caused the media to declare his political career a dead letter.  Six years later, he won a presidential election in the middle of a war.  In what is by far a more attractive analogy, Ronald Reagan lost a bitter, narrow primary contest in 1976 that went all the way to the convention, and came back four years later to unite the GOP despite his age and his supposed inability to woo moderates. Neither man was known for his admiration of or by the media, either, although Reagan certainly knew how to use them better than almost anyone.  The difference between those examples and Palin are significant (especially the resignation), but perhaps not fatal; a primary campaign would certainly prove the issue.

Here is the whole problem with the above thought. Now, Nixon was before my time. I will not, because I am honest try to take that apart. Here is the problem with comparing Reagan to Palin; Reagan had a four term Governorship under his belt, Sarah Palin served one year and resigned; she is seen as a quitter, by the majority of those in the G.O.P.

Further more, Ronald Reagan had a legion of friends and supporters, who were formerly Democrats from his Hollywood days. What happened was this, Ronald Reagan became angered by what he saw in the Democratic Party; that was the increasing warm embracing of the tenants of Communism by the Democratic Party in California, and by the liberal establishment in California; and by the National Party as well, This included the embracing of doctrines of Marxism; like “social justice” and so forth. Further more, Reagan became incensed when he discovered that there were several trade unions were simply Communist fronts in the 1950’s. This lead Reagan to make a list of people that he knew, divided by one thing alone; who were Democrats and who were Republicans. The list of Republicans was much longer.

This caused Reagan to switch sides; and many of Reagan’s friends followed him to the other side. Some publicly, and some not publicly. Sadly, Sarah Palin does not have that sort of support at all. All she really has, is a small group of devoted supporters, who really refuse to look at the things that disqualify her for winning an election.

Further more, Sarah Palin has people who are her “Supporters” who, quite frankly, make this writer want to wretch. Sarah Palin’s biggest supporting blog, Conservatives4Palin is ran by a supposed former Obama Supporter. The picture of that woman, is enough to cause a young man to swear off sex and join the convent. Further more, based upon some of the recent events around that woman; I am convinced that she is not a “true-blue” Conservative. But rather a secret undercover liberal operative who is working to undermine Palin’s chances.

Lastly, one of the biggest issues with Sarah Palin, is that she is a feminist. Sarah Palin appeared with Geraldine Ferraro on Fox News channel and was literally fawning over her about how she was such an inspiration for her and so forth. Feminism, especially among the Conservative Christian right, and with this writer, is considered antithetical to all things Conservative. Even one prominent female Conservative named Phyllis Schlafly wrote a book condemning the movement as a whole.  But yet, Sarah Palin continues to promote this very strange idea that a woman can be a Conservative and a Feminist as well. Which is, in this writers opinion; utterly idiotic. Which does explain much of Palin’s reasoning.

Quote of the Day – Part 2

The Afghan Debacle
The neocons also are fighting a rearguard action against anti-war Democrats and a few Republicans who favor a substantial drawdown of the 100,000 U.S. troops in Afghanistan. The neocons insist on a longer counterinsurgency mission in Afghanistan.

However, even if Obama accedes to the slow withdrawal favored by neocon favorites Gates and Petraeus – and even if the President agrees to a renegotiation of the final U.S. departure date from Iraq – the longer troop commitments appear likely to only delay the day of reckoning.

Despite the massive commitment of blood and treasure, the United States will almost surely emerge from the two wars as the perceived loser. Still, any delay could be valuable for the neocons because the postponements will give them more time to shift blame to Obama.

The longer the wars can be stretched out the easier it will be to count on the famous historical amnesia of the American voters and fault Obama for the eventual defeats. It will be Obama who “lost Iraq” and “lost Afghanistan.”

That will play into the core Republican theme about Obama’s feckless leadership, failing to straighten out the economy and ready to accept U.S. decline around the world. Any suggestion that Bush deserves the blame will be met with the talking point, “there you go again, blaming Bush. When will Obama take responsibility for his own failures?”

The stage will be set for another Republican presidential victory in November 2012 – and a return by the neocons to the war rooms of the White House and the Pentagon.

May God Bless Governor Jennifer Granholm!

Before anyone says this to me in the comments section,        I KNOW!

She was a horrible Governor. But for this little piece of clarity on Mitt Romney; she gets a “Atta-Gal!” from me.:

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is due in Detroit Wednesday and Thursday to fill his presidential campaign war chest. As at recent events, he’s likely to take partial credit for the extraordinary resurgence of the U.S. auto industry – a comeback that has created more than 12,000 jobs in Michigan alone over the past year.

Unfortunately for Romney, we aren’t likely to forget that, when our city most needed help, his response was simple: “Let Detroit Go Bankrupt.”

After the 2008 financial meltdown, America’s auto companies were in dire straits. To survive, they needed a loan to allow them to restructure. But no bank was lending.

Romney vehemently opposed helping the auto industry. But as he advocated a course that would have led to certain liquidation for Chrysler and General Motors, President Barack Obama made the bold decision to extend GM and Chrysler the support needed for the necessary restructuring.

[….]

So for him to claim now that he pointed the way toward the recovery of the auto industry is profoundly disturbing. When asked last week about Romney’s claim that Chrysler didn’t need federal loans, Chrysler chief executive officer Sergio Marchionne answered that he must be “smoking illegal material.”

That Romney is a native son of Michigan only makes his cold shoulder toward the auto industry in 2009, and his attempts to woo Detroit money today, even more shameful. His laissez-faire strategy toward our auto industry during its time of crisis was wrong from the start – and a clear indicator of the misguided leadership he would bring to the White House.

The U.S. is facing enormous economic and global challenges, so we need a leader who isn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves to do what it takes to guarantee U.S. jobs and American success. It’s obvious that Romney is not that leader.

When Romney comes here with his hand out Wednesday, his Michigan supporters should treat him in the same way he treated the auto industry.

She might be a Canadian, and have been an lousy Governor. But she does know her Mitt Romney!  It is much too bad, that many on our side of the fence are not say this more. Not to mention, the jerk is now trying, pathetically to pander to the Sarah Palin crowd!

Hey Moron Mormon Boy! Quit while your ahead! 🙄

Why I am not blogging about Anthony Weiner

Why I am not blogging about Anthony Weiner

If you have come looking for any and all postings related to this idiotic so-called scandal by Anthony Weiner.  Let me stop you here, there are none on here anymore —well, except for this posting here.  Why you ask?

Because I pulled the posting —- really, it was nothing anyhow, just a casual mention of it.  I also mentioned it one of my “Daily Rant!” videos.  I stated on there, that I thought he was guilty as sin.  I officially retract that statement.

Why the change all of a sudden towards this story?

Simple.

I do not wish to be one of the hoards of people in on the persecution of this man.

Folks, I have mentioned here in the past, it has been a while; but I do need to mention it again.  I am not, nor have I ever been a hyper-partisan or a partisan blogger at all —- period, end of story.  Corruption exists on both sides of the aisle.  There are corrupt Republicans and there are corrupt Democrats.  I do not buy into that whole idea that somehow or another that Democrats are more corrupt than Republicans are.  That is partisan nonsense and I simply do not play that game, at all.

It is obvious to the writer of this article; that this persecution of this man is of a partisan base.  Anything that Andrew Breitbart is involved in is purely of a partisan nature.  I will never give Breitbart, that vulgar piece of human excrement, any more attention or bandwidth than this man really honestly deserves.

The second reason why I am not allowing myself to become involved in such idiocy is the following:

I am a former “Left of center” person and blogger, who now finds himself in a happy place between the camps of Classic LiberalPaleo-Conservativelibertarian.  Because I have an opinion on the Zionist Movement, and on Neo-Conservatism and its foreign policy idiocy, I have been branded by some as an Anti-Semite and by liberals as being a racist bigot and by some as a white nationalist.

Because of this, I have decided that this “scandal” is not worth my time or trouble.  The way I feel about it, is this; If Anthony Weiner is even remotely as guilty as some are making him out to be, this whole thing will, as they put it, “Come out in the wash.”  What I do not support is the pathetic continual hounding of the man.  It is ridiculous!

Right now, our Nation is facing some serious issues.  Unemployment is at an ultimate high; our Nation’s debt is also at an ultimate high.  We have a President and a federal reserve bank that is literally ruining our money supply by pumping more currency into the money supply, thereby creating hyperinflation.  We also have a President that is more interested in importing oil from Brazil than he is drilling here and now; which sending gas prices over four dollars a gallon.  We are in the midst of all this and the best thing my fellow Conservative bloggers can do is fret and worry whether some idiot Democrat in congress tweeted a picture of his penis in a pair of men’s briefs?  Are you people damned Serious?!

Do you mental giants realize that this whole thing could blow up in our faces and that Conservatives, Republican Party, Tea Party (Pick a damn name!) could be perceived by those who are just mildly paying attention as Anti-Semites who are on the hunt for a Jewish politico to mess up, so that we can go after them?  Do you really what to know what the fallout from this all blowing up in your faces could be?  How about four more years of Barack Obama, you damned ninnies! —  Forget Sarah Palin, Forget even being taken seriously again; forget the damned Tea Party —- none of it will even matter, if this blows up and you all are proven to be wrong.

Because I will issue a hallow warning to the Republican Party and to every damned blogger who dared to cover this silly story.  If you think that, the Democrats will not use this little situation against the Republican Party in the 2012 election cycle, think again.  The Democrats will, they have no honor and in election cycles, perception is 90% of the rule and the socialist liberals will use their unlimited resources to drill this moron story in the sub-conscience of the Country; believe me when I tell you this.

If you want to return to the Bush-era of being perceived as downright evil, fine, do so.  However, do so at your own peril and possibly not being able to take the White House until 2016 —- or later.

Living proof that Adam Kokesh/Ron Paul Supporters are unhinged leftists in disguise

As you all know, I have been writing and talking about Adam Kokesh, the moron who got arrested at the Jefferson Memorial for basically being a tool. I have also documented and written about the fact that the man is a anti-war, Ron Paul supporting loon, who was dishonorably discharged from the Military for his loony activities.

Well, it appears that I have hit a nerve with the anti-war, Ron Paul supporting loon crowd.

These are ALL of the comments that I have received over the last few days. Some are just stupid nonsense written by loons who are, for the most part, out of touch with reality. Some, on the other hand are just straight up vile. So, consider this your official content warning.

Just a word of note, I am presenting this, IP addresses and all. If you happen to spot your IP address in these; don’t e-mail me asking me to remove it. Because I will not. The way I see it, if you are big enough to come to my blog and leave stupid comments like these, then you should be big enough to deal with your IP being broadcast.

With that, let’s start shall we?

Read the first amendment. It’s as simple as that. How do you define dancing? What if I walked in there and stretched and yawned? What if I stretched my arms up and took two steps to the side? What if I stretched my arms up, took two steps to the side and then did a 180 degree turn followed by a crouch and a head turn to the left, then right, and then a hip pop and a swivel of the hip? At what point did I start DANCING? I was just moving. I’ve seen dancers who use their legs in such a fashion as to walk across a street or through a door. Are they dancing? What if they’re walking with style? These are all things that our government is supposed to PROTECT, and not punish.

Yeah, I agree! Rights are only for people that I like! I don’t think people I don’t like should have any rights at all. And there’s no way anything could ever go wrong if everyone has that take on things.

You know that old saying, “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it. ” Well, you know who said that? A Frenchman! And I don’t like French people, so clearly that saying is stupid and it isn’t a principle we should have.

You know a group that has little sympathy with the public? People with neckbeards. So the author shouldn’t be too surprised if no one cares if he is ever beaten and thrown in prison for peaceful behavior.

It doesn’t MATTER if they did it with the INTENT of getting arrested.  They are merely dancing in a public place. Are you freaking insane?! If you think that anyone should be arrested in a public place for dancing, whether you like them or not, or whether you “know” what they’re up to, then you don’t understand the concept of freedom.  You don’t understand the reason for the bill of rights, or the basis for having a WRITTEN CONSTITUTION.  Do you not understand the idea between the concept “better 10 guilty men go free than 1 innocent man suffer injustice?”

Either you believe in these rights, or you do not, PICK ONE.

They need no permit to “protest.”  A man needs no permit to kiss his girlfriend, to dance to himself, to perform any other self-expression which is not inherently harmful.  This was not even inherently disruptive.  I don’t care who this CITIZEN is, he’s entitled to self-expression — and one of the GUARANTEES of our Constitution is that the GOVERNMENT will not take that from him.

His intent is irrelevant.  WHO he may be is also irrelevant.  At this point he is a citizen and the government arrested him (and others) without valid cause.

I served, and I opposed our continuing occupation of Iraq.  The only “asshat” is you, there is no pipe, and I don’t smoke (or resort to inane expressions such as those.)  What you don’t grasp is that the Bill of Rights isn’t just for those that you agree with, that you like, or limited by any other criteria.  It’s a guarantee, a limitation that We The People placed upon our government in the very beginning, to avoid EXACTLY this sort of thing.

Take a hike, Patrick.  What you’re endorsing is not Liberty, nor is it Constitutional.  What you’re endorsing is not ever welcome in this nation.

Yeah seriously. The Jefferson Memorial  is a memorial to the man who wrote the Declaration of Independence, one of the greatest tributes to human liberty ever.

We must protect decorum in such a sanctified place. It is not dignified for people to be dancing, or in other ways acting like liberated people. The best way to pay tribute to Jefferson is for tourists bringing their children there to see police body slamming people. That teaches our children the right lesson on liberty. You are free to behave in the way that certain people like, and if you transgress, you will be violently punished.

Liberty!

Transcript Via The American Conservative:

If Americans needed another reminder of why the Democratic Party is absolutely worthless, they got it during last week’s Patriot Act extension debate when Senate Majority leader Harry Reid again behaved exactly like the Bush-era Republicans he once vigorously opposed. In 2005, Reid bragged to fellow Democrats, “We killed the Patriot Act.” Today, Reid says that anyone who opposes the Patriot Act might be responsible for the killing of Americans. Dick Cheney now hears an echo and Americans deserve congressional hearings—as to whether Harry Reid is a sociopath, mere liar, or both.

But while Democrats stand pat for Bush Republicanism, the GOP now debates the extent to which it will remain the party of Dubya. Tea Party favorites like Senators Rand Paul and Mike Lee and Congressmen Ron Paul, Justin Amash, Allen West and others, all voted against the Patriot Act. To varying degrees, each of these GOP representatives questioned the act’s effectiveness and legality. But unfortunately, most Republicans still won’t ask any questions.

The “War on Terror” that defined and preoccupied Republicans during the Bush era brought with it not only massive government growth and debt, but an unprecedented expansion of extra-constitutional state power, symbolized most famously by the Patriot Act. In the name of national security, government officials could begin wiretapping phones, hacking into email accounts, prying into business records and spying on citizens—all without a warrant and at government officials’ own discretion. Defenders say the Patriot Act did what needed to be done after 9/11. Critics say it did away with the 4th amendment.

Let us say both have a point, and that for arguments sake, both Harry Reid and Dick Cheney are correct in arguing that it is sometimes necessary to surrender our liberties for increased security. Is this still true a decade after 9/11? Will it be true two decades after 9/11? How about three? Have the actions of Osama Bin Laden and his fellow terrorists forever altered our Bill of Rights?

Allegedly, the default position for conservatives is to distrust the government and defer to the Constitution. Concerning the Patriot Act, too many conservatives blindly trust the government at the expense of the Constitution. This type of thinking mirrors the logic of the Left, in which the constitutionality of a big government program like Obamacare is considered irrelevant due to the severity of the problem at hand. The liberal healthcare ends justify the unconstitutional means. This characteristic mentality of the Left is exactly how most of the Right approaches the Patriot Act—though it is an outright rejection of what most conservatives of any generation have held most dear.

Think about it. Conservatives get upset about many things on a regular basis—ACORN corruption, NPR funding, demanding that French fries be renamed “Freedom Fries.” At any given time there is always some new and outrageous rightwing distaste of the week.

But most of these controversies are a speck on a gnat’s ass compared to the damage done to the Constitution by the Patriot Act. For genuine constitutional conservatives, something like NPR funding is undoubtedly wrong but ultimately trivial and peripheral—while the protection of the Bill of Rights is crucial and integral. If George Washington or Thomas Jefferson were alive today, are we to believe that they would be more outraged that: A. The federal government helps fund public radio. B. The federal government snoops on citizens without restraint. Those who answered A. truly don’t understand the mindset of the men who founded this country.

A Republican critic of mine once asked me during a radio broadcast “Jack, can you show me where any American has been harmed due to the Patriot Act?” I replied, “Can you show me where any American has been harmed by Wikileaks?” The caller said he couldn’t, but stated that he believed private individuals shouldn’t haven’t access to private government documents. The gentleman was basically saying that whether or not Wikileaks has hurt anyone to date is irrelevant—the whistleblower outfit shouldn’t be trusted with such power to begin with. I argue the same is true of the federal government. So did the Founding Fathers. That’s why they wrote the 4th amendment.

The entire reason we have a written charter like the Constitution is to specify the enumerated powers that define the hard parameters of our federal government. Among those powers is national defense and security. But much of what we call “defense” is anything but. Similarly, a total police state could undoubtedly provide much better security, though few Americans would desire a country so void of liberty. After all, most Americans can barely tolerate the way the federal government handles air travel these days.

When Ronald Reagan said there was nothing closer to eternal life on this earth than a government program he could have easily been describing the Patriot Act. When Barry Goldwater said that “extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice” he could have easily been describing the minority of Republicans who now at least question the Patriot Act. When James Madison wrote, “Of all the enemies to public liberty, war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded because it comprises and develops the germ of every other,” he could have easily been describing our current state of perpetual war that now gives seemingly permanent life to the Patriot Act.

If the “War on Terror” is a perpetual war—as so many politicians readily contend—have we now permanently given up our liberties? If terrorists really do “hate us for our freedoms” is the best method of defeating them to permanently surrender our historic freedoms? And if so, who is really winning the War on Terror? Us or the terrorists?

By the very nature of their philosophy, conservatives are supposed to question their government. And given the very nature of our Constitution, this is precisely how the Founders would expect any true patriot to act.

Jack Hunter began his punditry career in the late 1990’s when a friend and popular alternative rock disc jockey agreed to let Jack air his political views during the afternoon drive on 96 Wave (96.1 WAVF) in Charleston, South Carolina.

Creating the moniker the “Southern Avenger,” which was borrowed from popular 90’s conservative talk radio host Ken “The Black Avenger” Hamblin, Jack assumed an anonymous super hero/ pro-wrestler persona, and entertained FM rock audiences with his antics and conservative political views until his departure from 96 Wave in 2007.

In 2007, Jack began working for WTMA 1250 AM talk radio in Charleston and began writing a column for the Charleston City Paper, that city’s premiere alternative weekly. Jack also began producing his popular video podcasts around this time, and today his You Tube Channel has received over two million views. Today, you can find Jack’s videos and columns as part of “TAC TV” at The American Conservative magazine (www.amconmag.com).

Jack is a frequent guest host for The Mike Church Show on Sirius/XM’s Patriot channel and is a frequent guest on “The Savage Nation” with nationally syndicated talk radio host Michael Savage. His writing has appeared at The American Spectator, Lewrockwell.com, CampaignforLiberty.com and in Young American Revolution, the official magazine of the youth activist organization Young Americans for Liberty, to which he is also a contributing editor. Jack also assisted Sen. Rand Paul with his book The Tea Party Goes to Washington, released by Center Street in February, 2011.

For the record, I am referring to this posting here.

I was looking at that posting, when I spotting something, rather… odd.

Here are Ann’s add rates on BlogAds. So that you will see, that I am not lying.

How can we take back the White House, if we cannot even support one another? Just a thought.

Progressive Radio Host Ed Schultz jumps the shark

By now I am sure you have heard about Ed Schultz’s little outburst towards Laura Ingraham.

To review, this is what was said:

Now, personally, I believe people like Mike Malloy and Randi Rhodes have said worse stuff. But, I digress.

Here now is Schultz apologizing for his moment of stupidity:

Now, for my own personal thoughts…:

When I first watched Ed Schultz’s apology, I was not sure what to expect.  However, I watched it, with my not only eyes and ears; I watched it with something that many in this business of partisanship, do not possess any longer — I watched that video with my heart.  I can tell you without any sort of hesitation, that Ed Schultz meant every word of that apology.  He is, most likely, tonight sitting at home, a very broken man.

As someone who has said and done my share of stupid stuff on this blog, I totally feel for the man.  He was “freewheeling,” and Ad-Libbing.  He was caught up in the moment, and decided to hurl in insult at the “other side,” and thought he would use a term in politics called a “Political Whore” or someone who sells his or her soul for the sake of party.

The problem is, he used it towards a woman, and he used “slut” and he did not specify the “political” part —- well, until he already used the term.

In short, He pulled a “Don Imus.”  Oops.

There will be many on my side of the fence and on the other side of the fence that will do the pile on.  I will not be one of those people.  I have watched the apology video and I believe Ed Schultz deserves a reset, and the ability to start over.  As someone noted among these commenter’s here; he might be a Left-winger, but he is a sincere left-winger; and for that, he does deserve a bit of credit.  I also notice a great deal of cynicism over at that site as well, in the comments.  Sorry, I am just not that cynical, I suppose.  I am willing to give the man a break.  I hope that he lives up to it.

Update: Memeorandum Thread.
