Neo-Conservatives are hypocritical about free speech

I saw this over at HotAir.com this morning and I nearly fell out of the chair……laughing:

The civility narrative that grew legs after the shooting in Arizona is really just a ruse to keep Republicans from calling Democrats what America knows they are – Socialists. After all, it’s that kind of ‘hateful rhetoric’ that gets people killed right? Yeah, right.

The Democrats lost power in the House after Americans got too big a taste of their left-wing socialist agenda over the last two years. Now that they’ve lost power they need to stem what could amount to even bigger losses in 2012. Since they can’t really legislate to cover their tracks, they need to prevent Republicans from continuing to remind Americans about their socialist agenda – and what better way to do that than to decide that America needs a dose of civility. Of course they cloak it in the ludicrous notion that it’s contributing to an atmosphere of hate that might set off a crazy person on another shooting spree. But to any able minded person that’s just nonsense.

(….)

Even Obama’s rhetorical move to the center also plays into this civility narrative. With the entire MSM and political world gushing over Obama’s new and improved centrist talk, it increases the chances that Republicans will feel more uncomfortable pointing out his socialist agenda, or even calling him a socialist, and it will serve to neuter Republicans and make them less effective.

The bottom line here is that Republicans simply need to stop mincing words and continue to remind Americans just how destructive these radicals are to this great country. If they do that, along with some great legislating, I assure you that Americans will respond in 2012 just as they did in 2010.

Yeah, let us talk about the neutering of free speech shall we? Some of you might remember, when I was attacked by some of  David Horowitz’s vultures for pointing out the fact that a good majority of the people that were raising a stink about the so-called 9/11 mosque….were Jewish. All because I dared to point out that making fat jokes about Megan McCain was rather farking lame. My real name was posted, a very unflattering picture of me was posted  and straight up lies were published about me, all by these Neo-Conservative vultures, who claim to be Conservative and also some of them Christian.

Further more, I also recall how I was attacked, my blog hacked and basically, I am considered a pariah among the Blogosphere — all because I dared to call Michelle Malkin on her yellow journalism and outright stupidity.  I mean, these people went out of their way to threaten and intimidate a blogger; whom I thought was a good friend of mine, who really turned out to be a spineless coward. All because I dared to call a spade….a spade…..

So, to the Neo-Conservative right I say this; please, do not sit and carp about the so-called “Neutering of Free Speech or the Neutering of Republicans” okay? Because you are just as bad about that, as the damned Democrats are, especially when it comes to Jews and when it comes to your crown princesses, like Michelle Malkin, who is one of the most yellow Journalists in the Business. Her politics might be decent, but her ethics are lousy and I called her on that. For this, I was made to be someone that I am not.

Again, I will state for the record; I am NOT, nor have I EVER BEEN, a Neo-Nazi, Anti-Semite or White Nationalist. I am someone however, that despises Identity Politics on the LEFT and the THE RIGHT. Further more, I am someone who despises yellow journalists; who distort facts and make up lies to the further their political agenda.

The Neo-Con right likes to gripe about the left doing it; to that I say, what about Michelle Malkin? What about Jim Hoft? What about Ed Morrissey, who straight lies about Unions and other such stuff that he disagrees with? Meanwhile his wife lives on Medicare Advantage. It is straight up damned hypocrisy, and I will call it every damned time I see it folks.

I think the Neo-Conservative right, which is really Democratic Party Lite —- needs to look in the mirror, and clean up their own backyard, because they accuse the left of the very same thing, that they do themselves. Is it Anti-Semite to point out that Jews are involved in anything? No, it is not. Anyone who says that, is a identity politics vulture who wants to stifle freedom of speech. Political stance and leanings means nothing. All of it is damned wrong. Period, End of Discussion.

I am shutting comments off of this posting, because I am not interested in hearing the Neo-Con vultures idiotic ramblings about how I am an Anti-Semite. 😡

Video: Who’s up for some Chris Christie Porn?

Our first flick comes from The coalition of the swilling: (H/T to HotAir.com’s resident Beta Male)

If that is not enough to wet your whistle, how an radio ad of Chris Christie trying to lure Illinois Businesses to….you guessed it, New Jersey: (Via Eyeblast)

I’ll tell you, this might just the guy for the Republican 2012 nomination. The office of the President of the United States is a heavy job. But, isn’t that right up Christie’s alley?

It is official: Mike Pence will not be running for President in 2012

Well, we can count this guy out:

U.S. Rep. Mike Pence shut the door today on a run for the presidency, but left wide open the likelihood that he’ll seek a different office: Governor of Indiana.

“In the choice between seeking national office and serving Indiana in some capacity, we choose Indiana,” Pence, R-Columbus, said of himself and wife Karen in a letter being sent to supporters. “We will not seek the Republican nomination for president in 2012.”

He said he would make a decision “later this year” about what his next political step is, but by not running for president it is considered a virtual certainty that he will run for the GOP nomination for governor. While he could, instead, run for a seventh term in Congress, that’s not considered likely given that Pence gave up the job that would have made him the fourth-highest ranking Republican in the House after the November elections, in order to focus on other political opportunities.

AllahPundit, as always, frets:

Needless to say, a big reason for the “Draft Pence” push in recent weeks was some social cons being uncomfortable with Palin or Huckabee as the nominee. Where do those people turn now?

To be quite honest, if all the social cons have to choose from is Huckabee and Palin; then that speaks to the sorry condition of the GOP in this day and age. I would say Mitt Romney, but the Evangelical Christians loathe him.  As a Fundamentalist Baptist, I can tell you that I am not too big on the idea of a Mormon being in the White House at all.  What I really believe personally is that the Republican Party needs to focus on fiscal issues and leave the social cons out of the mix in 2012.  Because honestly, that crowd is so darned fickle anyways, not to mention the rank hypocrisy that comes from those ranks.  I mean, just look at Palin, rode in on the white horse of social Conservatism and a few weeks later, her daughter comes up pregnant.

The simple solution is Tim Pawlenty. He is a fiscal Conservative, he is not a extremist and his family is not a reality show. I personally believe he would be a good choice for the G.O.P. in 2012. Here is hoping that Tim runs in 2012, because for once, I would like to vote for a Republican, that actually acts like one and not some made beltway boy or some right wing extremist or a talk show reality star. I want a real CEO type, that will make decisions to help small business and people like me find jobs again.

We need to put America back to work. We cannot do that with a shrieking harpy glamor model who’s got a reality show; that somehow believes that she is entitled to be President, because of her sex organs —- nor can we do that with a Democrat with a Bible who is prone to extremism.

Good News: GM Withdrawing Loan apps from Government

This is good news:

WASHINGTON (AP) — General Motors says it is withdrawing its application for $14.4 billion in federal government loans it had sought to help modernize plants to build fuel-efficient cars.

GM says it doesn’t need the loans now, because the company’s cash position has improved and it can pay for the improvements. GM applied for the loans in 2008 to modernize plants to build fuel-efficient vehicles.

The $25 billion low-interest loan program is administered by the Energy Department. It was created in a 2007 energy law to help car companies retool older factories to build green cars — GM withdrawing government loan application | The Daily Caller

But you should not expect to see this reported on any of the Conservative websites… Because it messes with that whole narrative thing. You know, the whole “American car companies suck and are controlled by the unions” talking point?

Anyways, it is good news; glad to see that we Americans are winning again. 😀

Ouch: Alvin Felzenberg says President Obama’s SOTU address sucked the big one

That ought to leave a mark!:

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, what can be said of plagiarism? President Obama’s second State of the Union address contained enough recycled ideas and lines lifted from speeches of others to make historians wince. I suppose this is what one does when one not only has nothing new to say, but is required by custom and Constitution to come forth with a report of some kind by a certain time and day.

Had Obama or his writers been considerate enough to have informed listeners of where some of the president’s best lines and offered-up ideas originated, the speech might be remembered for its cutting and pasting of great and not-so-great moments of the past performance of others. After quoting Robert Kennedy early on, Obama tried to have his listeners believe that everything else he said that we might remember were his or his writers’ creations. Had the president submitted the text of his second State of the Union Address in the form of a college term paper, he would have been sent forthwith to the nearest academic dean. Once again, our public affairs are such that we have one standard for presidents and another for undergraduates. Now is as good a time as any to let Obama’s listeners in on what the late Paul Harvey would have termed “the rest of the story.”  — Obama’s State of the Union Was Tantamount to Plagiarism – Alvin Felzenberg (usnews.com)

Go read the rest of that. This guy is seriously unimpressed with the speech. Believe me, it is not a flattering review. Something tells me that 2012 is going to be a major challenge for President Obama.

Living Proof the Liberals are classless assholes

A real humdinger of a story in this installment. But first, our official music:

Hit the play button to enjoy the music, while you read the story.

Here’s another real classless story from our asshole liberal folks on the left. Tonight’s installment was overseen at HotAir.com. As you all know Gabby Giffords was shot by a crazy gunman just a few weeks ago and already some Democrats are already wanting to toss her under the bus.

The Story comes via The Daily Caller’s Chris Moody:

Behind closed doors, California Democratic Rep. Loretta Sanchez has proposed removing Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords from the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) until she recovers from injuries sustained after being shot in the head on Jan. 8 in Tucson, The Daily Caller has learned.

The proposal sparked an outrage, according to those in the room — including from those in Sanchez’s own party.

“It’s not appropriate,” Texas Democratic Rep. Silvestre Reyes told The Daily Caller, adding that there was outrage among some members in the room when Sanchez made the suggestion. “It’s bad for morale during her recovery period.”

Reyes and Rep. Adam Smith of Washington put up most of the fight against Sanchez, and helped squash the idea.

“From a woman who memorialized her cat, you’d think she’d show a little more compassion for a woman shot in the face,” said one GOP aide, referring to Sanchez’s 2010 Christmas card that paid tribute to her late cat, Gretzky.

Sanchez told her Democratic colleagues on the committee that every vote would be crucial, and since there was little indication Giffords would return soon, they should seek a replacement. A spokesman for Sanchez defended her proposal and called the criticism “ludicrous.”

“Gabby has always been one of the most active members on the Armed Services Committee, and Rep. Sanchez wants to make sure HASC Democrats preserve her voice until the congresswoman has returned,” Sanchez’s Press Secretary Caroline Hogan told TheDC. “Rep. Sanchez simply inquired whether a proxy could represent the Congresswoman on the Committee at Rep. Giffords’ request. That way, Gabby’s legislative priorities and seniority would be preserved until her return. Any other interpretation of her question is ludicrous.”

Get shot in the head, by a crazy, deranged, leftist gunman — get tossed under the bus as useless by your own damned party.

Just more living proof that socialist liberals are classless assholes.

My Thoughts on President Barack Obama’s Second State of the Union Address

Yes, I did watch the President’s second State of the Union address last night.  I wanted to sleep on it, before I actually typed a blog entry about it; and besides, I was tired last night and needed to go to bed.  Heck, they accuse me now of being crazy when I blog wide-awake; could you imagine me doing a blog entry half-asleep?  😮

Now about that speech — honestly folks, I thought it was very well done.  I thought the President spoke very well and even cracked a rather funny joke about the complexity of the Federal Government.  Now there were some things, that as a Conservative, I really had to wonder about.  First off, how in the heck is the President going to cut spending, and work on the Nation’s infrastructure?  It simply cannot be done.  The President is going to spend money updating our infrastructure or he is going to cut spending — you cannot do both; well, at least not very well.

The President made a huge emphasis on education, he also made a huge concession that America’s standing in the World has slipped to Nations like China.  I believe that was important.  However, I would have like it greatly, if the President had said, how we needed to cut down on, not increase, exports.  I would have liked it if the President would have, by executive order — ordered the repeal of the North America Free Trade Agreement, TAFTA and the rest of the free trade agreements.  I also would have liked it, if the President would have imposed extremely stiff tariffs on those importing goods into our Country.  I would have liked it, if the President would have, by executive order, imposed a strict and high tax on those who have companies here in the United States and manufactured products overseas and imported them here.  Now that would have impressed me.  However, the President, along with his Republican predecessor continues the agenda of globalism, which is killing the American job market.

The reason I say this, is this; if someone can pay a dollar to some person in China to build a product, as opposed to paying someone minimum wage here —- trust me, those businessperson are going to do it.  This is what needs to happen; we need to make it more costly for those business people to do that very thing.  That and only that is the way that we will bring manufacturing back to America.

One thing that the President did do that I felt was an honorable gesture; and that was recognizing the man that saved the lives of the miners in Chili.  Not only that, but using that an example of how American innovation can be used in times of crisis.  I felt that deserved much praise, although you will not see that, at all, on any blogs on the right and it is tragic — as it were the Conservative bloggers who raised that issue, and criticized Obama for not speaking favorably about the man in the first place.

Let me end this by say this.  Words and speeches are one thing.  Actions and results are another.  Like I said about Rick Snyder’s State of the State speech here in Michigan — it was a good speech, but it was very short on specifics.  I, like many other Americans, are looking for results.  Flowery speeches are nice and rhetoric is great.  However, none of those things creates jobs and puts food on the table.  When the results come in, than I will say more about this President and what he has done for the Country.  So far, all I have seen is flowery speeches and empty rhetoric from BOTH SIDES.  When the results come in, and the jobs start being plentiful again, then I will say yea or nay.  Until then, I remain skeptical — of BOTH SIDES!

Illinois Supreme Court says Emanuel can stay on ballot

At least until they decide his case…..

The Illinois Supreme Court has ordered the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners to put Rahm Emanuel’s name back on the mayoral ballot.

The court has not decided whether to hear Emanuel’s appeal of Monday’s Illinois Appellate Court ruling that tossed him out of the race to replace Mayor Daley. But the Supreme Court granted Emanuel’s motion for a stay of the ruling.

“The appellate court decision is stayed,’’ the Supreme Court’s order reads. “The Board of Elections is directed that if any ballots are printed while this Court is considering this case, the ballots should include the name of petitioner Rahm Emanuel as a candidate for Mayor of the City of Chicago.’’ — Supreme Court: Emanuel stays on ballot while his case is considered – Chicago Sun-Times

Now unlike some Blogs on the right; I am not going to sit here and carp about how this shows corruption or anything like that. If the man is legally allowed, then let the man run. If not, then he should be removed. Hopefully something becomes of it and the law is upheld.

UPDATE: Explosion in Russia at airport — Video Added

Not good to hear…….

Video via Russia Today:

A bomb attack at Moscow’s Domodedovo airport has killed at least 35 people and injured more than 100 – many of them critically, officials say.

Investigators say the explosion, which happened in the arrivals hall, was caused by a suicide bomber.

President Dmitry Medvedev vowed that those behind the attack would be tracked down and punished.

He ordered increased security across Russia’s capital, its airports and other transport hubs.

Mr Medvedev also called an emergency meeting with officials and also postponed his planned departure for this week’s World Economic Forum at Davos. — BBC News – Moscow bombing: Carnage at Russia’s Domodedovo airport

Reckon them Ruskies will learn to take terrorism seriously now? I say this because it seems that the Russians never really took terrorism that seriously. They acted as if it was a USA problem with the World. Maybe now they will look at things a bit differently.

Prayers for the people in the area.

Update: Here is the video of the actual attack from security camera:

Rahm Emanuel tossed off ballot in Chicago by court

Now this is interesting….

Rahm Emanuel was thrown off the ballot for mayor of Chicago Monday by an appellate court panel, a stunning blow to the fund-raising leader in the race.

An appellate panel ruled 2-1 that Emanuel did not meet the residency standard to run for mayor.

Appellate justices Thomas Hoffman and Shelvin Louise Marie Hall ruled against Emanuel. Justice Bertina Lampkin voted in favor of keeping President Obama’s former chief of staff on the Feb. 22 ballot.

Emanuel, speaking to reporters at The Berghoff in the Loop, said he is confident he will win an appeal and return to the ballot.

“I have no doubt at the end we will prevail,” Emanuel said. “As my father has said, nothing is ever easy.”   —- ‘We will prevail,’ Emanuel says after court boots him off ballot – Chicago Sun-Times

….and a collective “HEH” goes out though the Blogosphere…..

Of course Emanuel says that he will appeal and of course, someone will get a briefcase full of money and he will be allowed to run. Just how things are in Chicago; after all. Look how we got our President.

Why I left ‘The Left’ — Exhibit CW for Class Warfare

Actually, I wanted to call this one Exhibit IC for incessant whining, but I did not want to sound like a total jerk. However, this is exactly what this little piece is here.

It appears that some liberal wife of some hard working person feels that her man is not getting his fair share of the pot. She writes over at the liberal Blog FireDogLake:

This morning my husband got up at 5:00 a.m. to work outside in 7 degree F temperatures. He sat on the end of the couch, head in his hands sipping his coffee telling me how much he hates his job. How much it’s wearing him out. He makes $29.00 dollars an hour. Roughly $60,000 a year. He’s a union electrician. His health care premiums come out of his pay check; it is NOT subsidized by his “company.” His disability comes out of his pay check. It is NOT subsidized by his company.

I don’t think most people understand this about the unions. These men get paid what they do because they are subsidizing their own care. Men in suits thinks he makes too much money. Men in suits think he doesn’t deserve health care or disability, that he’s just a body to use and abuse.

They tell the men to talk about safety on their own time, not to take up time they could be “producing” to discuss “safety issues”. They don’t want to spend money on his safety or breaks for his aching back or freezing fingers. My husband worries if he takes too much time to warm up that they might lay him off. The men in suits know he is afraid, they even tease him about lay offs from warm offices when he walks through to take his 15-minute break. The high cost of labor, entitlement. The men in suits make you focus on the unions with their high paying jobs while they sit in offices pushing pencils making eight times the amount that my husband makes. Risking far less in stress and safety than my husband. And complaining about the high cost of labor.

First, before I rip this poor woman to shreds here, let me say something. Please note that I am very sympathetic to the working person’s cause — really, I am. I am one of those working man types myself. What troubles me about this entire piece is this; it sounds like this woman is whining about her husband actually having a job. Furthermore, this piece is your a-typical mentality of the liberals in this Country — and that is that the little person is being jacked around by the big, evil, corporate America. What these mentally depraved people do not seems to realize is this; if it were not for businesspersons, who decide to take risks and employ people like her husband, to build projects, like the one that he is working on, those hardworking people — would be unemployed.

Secondly, I find this piece to be offensive for another reason. This is where I might just run afoul of Conservatives who read this blog. I have been unemployed since 2005. This partially could be considered my fault and partially it could be blamed on the piss poor economy here in Michigan. The unemployment rate here in Michigan is I believe 30% or so. I believe I could find you a group of men here in Michigan, which would just love to have this man’s job that he has grown to hate. I know that I personally live very well at $60.000 per year and not complain one bit. The point I am trying to make is this, this man took this job knowing what it entailed and knows what is required of him. If he cannot handle that job, perhaps he should try finding something else, possibly even trying another career.

I hate to sound like some heartless jerk, which sits in some ivory tower somewhere and writes dismissively of some person who is really struggling to make it. Because that is not what I am — I am simply someone who has had my own share of problems in the past, when it comes to unemployment and when I see someone moaning and complaining about actually having job — I just really have to speak up and say trying living in my shoes for a while. I could really understand if this would have been written pre-stock market flash crash and economic recession, but it was not. There are some people out there that have it a hell of a lot worse that this person and his whining wife. I happen to be one of them and I think that this man and his wife both ought to be a bit more appreciative of what they do have, instead of whining about what they have to so-called “Suffer” through.

Just my thoughts on that one, and believe me, this comes from someone who is not even being counted among the 9% in America unemployed. They only count those who are collecting benefits. I collect none.  I will not bother to even comment on the part where it says that the man was breaking the law, by giving free electricity to people that he knows. I mean, if that is not self explanatory, I do not know what is. 🙄

On My Desk: Zack Rawsthorne’s Diversity Lane — The Book

Yes, I am endorsing a product on my website…. 😉

Zacks New Book! Click the pic to buy it!

Finally, after many years of writing; someone finally thought I was important enough to ask me my opinion of something and I ended up on their book! Woo Hoo! Ahem… sorry, got a little carried away there. 😛

Anyhow, before I give this book plug, let me explain how in the world that I ended up on Zack’s book. Back around the 2008 election or so; I had this idea of posting political cartoons on my Blog. This lead to me doing so on a regular basis, as you can see here.

You’ll also notice that they are all sprawling off the page too; this is because I just recently changed themes, because my old one was making the blog using the server that hosts it to go crazy, which did not go over well with the hosting company. 😳 🙄

Anyhow, sometime during that time period; I was contacted by a few political cartoonists that were just starting up. One of those people was Zack Rawsthorne.  Zack’s stuff is admittedly biased — but very funny. Zack and I share a common thing; we are both people who see the liberal left for what it is — hypocritical.

Having said all of the above. let me state publicly, I very highly recommend the book. If you have seen the political cartoons here at my blog; then you know what to expect. So, head on over and grab a copy of this book. After all, Zack has to justify sending me this free copy for something! 😉 😛 😀

Again, let me say this also publicly; I am extremely grateful and very highly honored to included on Zack’s book. I do now have a reason to keep this pea-picking blog up now, because I surely do expect to have people coming to inquire as to just who this “political byline” weirdo is. HEH! 😛

Now go buy a copy of that book, better yet — buy two, one for you and one for your liberal friend! (If you actually have any! 😮 )

Keith Olbermann signs off Countdown and leaves MSNBC

Man, go to bed early and what happens? The whole darned world turns upside down! Seriously, I sacked out after O’Reilly went off. I was pooped.

Anyhow, here is the video:

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

AllahPundit over at HotAir.com has a ton of links going every which a way, as to why this happened.

Memeorandum has a huge round up of blogger reactions of a political sort. MediaGazer has the industry bloggers reactions.

Mediate has the reason why Olby got the sack:

Sources tell Mediaite Keith Olbermann and MSNBC were headed for a breakup long before Comcast’s rise to power, but clearly something set the divorce into motion quickly today, with network promos set to run touting Olbermann’s role in MSNBC’s coverage of next week’s State of the Union address–and, notably, a Keith Olbermann promo running on MSNBC in the hour after the host signed off and left the net, work…

In recent weeks, sources tell Mediaite there have been meetings on the topic of Keith Olbermann and his future at the network. Did Comcast–as many Countdown viewers seem to suspect–order Olbermann out? It appears that the end of the Olbermann era at MSNBC was not “ordered” by Comcast, nor was it a move to tone down the network’s politics. Instead, sources inside the network say it came down to the more mundane world of office politics–Olbermann was a difficult employee, who clashed with bosses, colleagues and underlings alike, and with the Comcast-related departure of Jeff Zucker, and the rise of Maddow and O’Donnell, the landscape shifted, making an Olbermann exit suddenly seem well-timed.

Here is my take on this; I find this very shocking, but not at all surprising. Keith Olbermann, since the election of Barack Obama and even before that, in the last waning months of the Bush era; had become a parody of himself. I mean, doing stuff like telling the President to “Shut the hell up!” on the live TV. Honestly, the man had become a unhinged being. Not only that; but to this former Democratic voting Blogger, turned right of center voter, it just seemed that after Bush left office and President Obama was sworn in and took office that Olbermann made a hardcore turn towards outright partisanship. I found that to be most offensive and not only that; but the outright intellectual dishonesty from him and the rest of the on air talent was just sickening.

As to what this means. Honestly, I have no idea. Could it be a shift for the network back towards the right? I sure as hell hope so. I remember when MSNBC copied the model of Fox News; by having a fair and balanced line up.  Chris Matthews who is left of center, Tucker Carlson who was right-libertarian, Keith Olbermann who was Liberal Left, and Joe Scarborough who was a Republican Conservative. That was a balanced line up. Then Don Imus lost his show and Joe was put on mornings and that is when the MSNBC nighttime line up went crazy. All Liberal all the time. Tucker was cut loose and basically that was when I started watching Fox News. I usually watch their daytime news stuff and then I watch O’Reilly at night. I do avoid the rest of the crazies on Fox News. Again, I just do not watch partisan hacks.

Video: Whatever happened to the Anti-War Movement?

Reason.TV makes a very valid point:

Ed Morrissey also makes a valid assessment:

Most of us presumed that the protests were more about Bush than the wars when they took place, but even the skeptics have to be a little surprised just how uncool the anti-war movement has become since Barack Obama took place. The neo-Stalinist International ANSWER, one of the groups featured in this film, must have thought they were achieving some sort of mainstream penetration into politics when Democrats started flooding into their rallies. Now they’re back to street-corner protests and “Honk If You <3 Peace” rallies and wondering why it suddenly got so lonely.

To be fair, though, the driving force of the earlier anti-war rallies was the war in Iraq, not Afghanistan. While the Af-Pak fight has lost considerable public support, the first war had broader support, as it targeted the actual 9/11 villains and their cohorts. The protests against the wars got fueled mainly by our presence in Iraq, and peaked when Bush put the surge strategy into place. The success of that strategy and the Status of Forces Agreement that moved American troops out of the cities and into support roles has removed most of the objections to Iraq, and for good reason — why protest a war that’s all but over?  Obama promised to have troops out in 16 months during the presidential campaign, but as Reason TV notes, he stuck with the Bush SOFA policy — and after 24 months, we’re still there and likely will be for years to come.

A very valid assessment. However, there is more to that too. The left just straight up hated Bush with a passion. The Anti-War protests were also less about Anti-War, and more about Anti-Bush. The left never, ever forgave Bush for winning the 2000 election. To this very day, the left still believes that Bush and Co. somehow or another stole the election. The left screamed and yelled and protested; that is, until it was very clear that challenging Bush’s election in 2000 was a lost cause.

Then 9/11 came along, and the entire Country stood behind Bush. The left basically stood down, and supported the President. Of course, there were outliers, but the majority of them were supportive. So, America went to war in Afghanistan, then Bush in 2003 decided that invading Iraq was necessary; which we now know was based upon faulty intelligence. Of course, there are some, within Neo-Conservative circles, that still, to this day, believe that Iraq had WMD’s. However, in this day and age of post-Bush, those people are big minority. Anyhow, At first, the MSM went along with Bush’s plans and the persons saying that Bush was wrong were a small minority. Over time, as it became clear that Bush’s intelligence was flat out wrong; the voices of dissent became louder.

By 2004, these voices had risen to fever pitch and the left was in fully in “Get Bush out of Office!”, an effort that ultimately failed; because of the total lack of electability of John Kerry as President of the United States. By 2006, however, independents and even some more main stream Conservatives had left Bush and realized that the man was just simply wrong. Of course, the loyalists defended him to the end and still do. But now, they are quite the minority. Thus was the reason why the Democrats won so big in 2006 and 2008; not because Obama or the Democrats were something wonderful — it was because American independents wanted something different than Bush’s Neo-Conservative, interventionist foriegn policy blunders.

However, there is one thing that this video totally missed; the voices of the Anti-War movement were not all Liberal or even Libertarian. There were some Conservatives, there were Paleo-Conservative voices. Pat Buchanan and some others formed a Magazine called “The American Conservative.” Which was formed for the sole purpose of convincing the White House that they were wrong about Iraq and foriegn policy. An effort, which ultimately failed.  These same people, earned the scorn of people like David Frum. Which is pretty ironic, considering his position today on Bush and the Iraq war.

Of course, looking back; seeing all of the blunders of the Democrats and of the President — Bush does not seem that bad of a President. Bush was by no means perfect. However, the tone-deaf antics of the Democrats after the election of President Barack Obama, made Bush’s era seem a bit more sane. Prime example: Has the economy gotten better since President Obama was elected? No, it has not. In fact, it has gotten a bit worse. I have heard the following from committed Democrats: “President Obama got it exactly backward; he did healthcare first. That was stupid, he should have gotten the economy fixed FIRST and waited to see, if the fixes worked — THEN he should have tackled healthcare reform!” Which is right, Obama and the Democrats wanted to push it through, despite the consequences and for that they paid for it in the 2010 elections — and outside of a major change in the economy or something major in the terrorism world, like the capture of Osama Bin Laden and the totally destruction of Al-Qaeda; which will never happen, Obama and the Democrats will further more pay for this foolishness. Possibly by Obama being primaries out in 2012. Do not discount that theory, we do live in much different times and the America people have become more fickle in their loyalty. It could happen.

As a Bonus, I present a movie, the name of it is simply “Crawford” that basically proves what I said above. It is a little long. But it is well worth it:

DUMB: GOP-Controlled House votes to repeal Obamacare

This was not one of the GOP-controlled house’s smarter moves and I will explain that in a second here.

But first, the story via the Hill:

The House voted on Wednesday to repeal the sweeping healthcare law enacted last year, as Republicans made good on a central campaign pledge and laid down the first major policy marker of their new majority.

The party-line vote was 245-189, as three Democrats joined all 242 Republicans in supporting repeal.

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said the healthcare law on the books would increase spending, raise taxes and eliminate jobs.

“Repeal means paving the way for better solutions that will lower the costs without destroying jobs or bankrupting our government,” Boehner said in remarks on the floor before the vote.

“Let’s stop payment on this check before it can destroy more jobs or put us into a deeper hole.”

Here’s why I think it is stupid, here’s what might happen to the bill now: (H/T AP)

The House will pass H.R. 2 this week. Once that bill is passed, it will be sent to the Senate for consideration. Once the Senate receives the bill, any Senator can use Rule 14 to object to the second reading of the bill. This procedural objection will “hold at the desk” the House-passed bill and allow the Senate to act on the full repeal measure.

If the bill is referred to committee, it will never get to the Senate floor. This procedural objection by one or a number of Senators will stop the bill from being referred to the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee (HELP). If the bill is referred to committee, there is little to no expectation that the committee will pass the bill, let alone have one hearing on the bill.

Objecting to Rule 14 would hold the bill at the desk of the Senate and would put H.R. 2 on the Senate calendar. This procedure could be done with a letter or call from one Senator to the party leader. This would allow the Senate Majority Leader to commence debate on the matter when he so chooses. It is unlikely that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D–NV) would move to proceed to the bill, yet there is a procedure that any Senator can use to force a debate.

Any Senator can use Rule 22 to commence debate on H.R. 2 if they have held the bill at the desk.

If I know my politics and my Democrats like I do; The Democratic Party controlled Senate will send this bill to committee to die. Which made that whole vote over in the House, a huge waste of time and…wait for it…. Taxpayers dollars!

Now the smart thing that the GOP controlled house could have done; would have been to introduce a bill that repeals the bad stuff in healthcare — like mandates, the silly tax stuff for small and no-so-small businesses and left the good stuff in. But, like most people in politics, these morons picked the wrong way to do this.

In this last election, I voted Republican, I do not regret that at all. However, I am disappointed to see that the Republicans seem more interested in playing politics, than they are actually getting anything done.  Because, whether we like it or not; the Democrats hold the cards in the Senate and House doing idiotic stuff like this, only wastes time and taxpayers money — which is why the Tea Party was formed, and Democrats got swept out of office; because of their blatant stupidity and just for not listening to the American people. Now, it seems that the Republicans want to play the same silly game. Let’s hope that they try the better approach here in the future.

Again, The Republicans need to look out for the American people and do things wisely; not look out for their own political careers and continue the partisan jousting of old. That sort of nonsense will simply not work this time. It will only get them elected out of office and rather quickly.

Some on the right have given up on Sarah Palin

Kudos to John over at Powerline for speaking the truth:

The time has come to put any thoughts of Sarah Palin running for President to rest. I say that not because I dislike her; on the contrary, I’m a fan. I think she did an excellent job as a vice-presidential candidate in 2008 and has been an effective spokeswoman for conservative causes in the years since. But there is no way she is ever going to be elected President, and the sooner Republicans get over that idea, the better.

He goes on to cite a CNN Poll.

John Continues:

No one with a 59 percent unfavorability rating among independents has the chance of a snowball in Hell of being elected President. 2012 will be a vitally important election year; it is no time for a kamikaze Presidential campaign or for a cult of personality. Republicans (and conservatives) need a candidate who has a chance to win against an incumbent who, despite everything, is not particularly unpopular and who won’t be able to do much visible damage between now and then.

One hopes that Governor Palin will see the writing on the wall and devote her energies to helping the conservative movement and other, better-positioned candidates rather than to pursuing a Presidential ambition that can only prove destructive.

Of course, the Palin-bots come out, William over at Legal Insurrection:

Why is such an announcement necessary now, at the very moment that the conservative movement is trying to fight back against the mainstream media campaign related to the Tucson shooting?

You can throw Palin under the bus if you want, but what will you do when the next candidate faces blistering false accusations which drive negatives high after a mainstream media feeding frenzy?

Why not let the political and primary process work itself out.  We do not even know if Palin is running, or if she will garner enough Republican support to win.

There is an insatiable mainstream media hunger to demonize and marginalize potential Republican nominees. Feeding that beast in the wake of the Tucson shooting is not the way to win in 2012.

Well, Bill, it could be that some of us Conservatives want someone who is actually qualified to be a elected Federal official, you know like President? Instead of some woman who seems to think that her sex organs entitles her to be President of the United States. Further more, did you happen to see Palin on Fox News cooing over Geraldine Ferraro and saying she was hero of Palin’s? .…and she calls herself a Republican? Please. 🙄

It pleases me greatly to see people finally seeing Sarah Palin for what she really is; a political opportunist, who has zero business being President of the United States of America, much less anything else.  The quicker that shrieking harpy is remanded to the dust bin of history, the better. She has been nothing but an embarrassment to the Republican Party. I began feeling this way, when it came out that her daughter was pregnant; after she came into the Republican Convention in 2008, riding the white horse of social Conservatism. I thought then that something was horrible amiss about this woman and she has done nothing and I mean nothing to dispel that notion with me.

HANG this Murderer from the HIGHEST Tree in the Land!

I usually do not post that sort of a headline…. But this time; it is warranted.

This vomit inducing story comes via my friend Ed Morrissey over at HotAir.com.

The Story via CBS in Philly:

A West Philadelphia abortion doctor, his wife and eight other suspects are now under arrest following a grand jury investigation.

Dr. Kermit Gosnell, 69, faces eight counts of murder in the deaths of a woman following a botched abortion at his office, along with the deaths of seven other babies who, prosecutors allege, were born alive following illegal late-term abortions and then were killed by severing their spinal cords with a pair of scissors. …

Gosnell is facing Murder in the 3rd Degree for the death of 41-year-old Karnamaya Mongar. Mrs. Mongar died on November 20, 2009 when she was overdosed with anesthetics prescribed by Gosnell. He is also facing seven Murder charges for the deaths of infants who were killed after being born viable and alive during the 6th, 7th and 8th month of pregnancy. Gosnell is also facing numerous other charges.

Gosnell is suspected of killing hundreds of living babies over the course of his 30 year practice. However, he is not charged because the records do not exist.

Want to vomit? Read the Grand Jury Report:(PDF)

One woman, for example, was left lying in place for hours after Gosnell tore her cervix and colon while trying, unsuccessfully, to extract the fetus. Relatives who came to pick her up were refused entry into the building; they had to threaten to call the police. They eventually found her inside, bleeding and incoherent, and transported her to the hospital, where doctors had to remove almost half a foot of her intestines.

On another occasion, Gosnell simply sent a patient home, after keeping her mother waiting for hours, without telling either of them that she still had fetal parts inside her. Gosnell insisted she was fine, even after signs of serious infection set in over the next several days. By the time her mother got her to the emergency room, she was unconscious and near death.

A nineteen-year-old girl was held for several hours after Gosnell punctured her uterus.  As a result of the delay, she fell into shock from blood loss, and had to undergo a hysterectomy.

One patient went into convulsions during an abortion, fell off the procedure table,  and hit her head on the floor.  Gosnell wouldn’t call an ambulance, and wouldn’t let the woman’s companion leave the building so that he could call an ambulance.

***

We discovered that Pennsylvania’s Department of Health has deliberately chosen not to enforce laws that should afford patients at abortion clinics the same safeguards and assurances of quality health care as patients of other medical service providers. Even nail salons in Pennsylvania are monitored more closely for client safety.

The State Legislature has charged the Department of Health (DOH) with responsibility for writing and enforcing regulations to protect health and safety in abortion clinics as well as in hospitals and other health care facilities. Yet a significant difference exists between how DOH monitors abortion clinics and how it monitors facilities where other medical procedures are performed.

Indeed, the department has shown an utter disregard both for the safety of women who seek treatment at abortion clinics and for the health of fetuses after they have become viable. State health officials have also shown a disregard for the laws the department is supposed to enforce. Most appalling of all, the Department of Health’s neglect of abortion patients’ safety and of Pennsylvania laws is clearly not inadvertent: It is by design.

State health officials knew that Gosnell and his clinic were offering unacceptable medical care to women and girls, yet DOH failed to take any action to stop the atrocities documented by this Grand Jury. These officials were far more protective of themselves when they testified before the Grand Jury. Even DOH lawyers, including the chief counsel, brought private attorneys with them – presumably at government expense.

This is not your average black man — he is a monster. This black piece of human waste should be strung from the highest tree in the land. No trials, No court, No defense attorneys — None of that crap! Just fucking shoot his ass! This man is a damn murderer of babies. Sorry folks, I am all for a woman’s right to her bodies and all that. But this crap here goes well beyond that! This man is a damn murderer and should be just lined up against a damned wall and SHOT!

Ed Morrissey is just too damned nice to say it. But I will, the reason why this damned monster got away with this; is because HE WAS BLACK! PLAIN AND DAMNED SIMPLE. HE GOT AWAY WITH THIS BECAUSE HE WAS A BLACK MAN!

A Commenter over at HotAir.com sums it up:

I am neither a particularly religious man nor much of a praying man (which I’m working on … have patience with us old agnostics) … but after reading this, I got right down on my knees and prayed for forgiveness for our whole stupid species.

We all need it. All of us. That we let this go on is … unspeakable. An abomination, in the ancient and biblical sense of the word.

If there is a God up there, He is not impressed.

I hope he’s a whole lot more merciful than we are.

This is the worst thing I’ve ever read.

The history books may well look at us in much the same way we look at late-1930?s Germany.

As I said elsewhere, this period in history – our enshrining abortion as not only legal but a protected Constitutional right – will be viewed as having a place along side slavery, communism, fascism, and totalitarianism.

Even the arguments for abortion are the same: read the discussions of the left on this topic – then compare to 1840s debates over abolition or 1930s debates in Germany over the coming “final solution.” The arguments are, almost word for word, identical. The denial of humanity; the preservation of property rights over human rights; the elevation of evil to the sanctified and the debasement of the sacred until it is viewed as meaningless.

This is evil. And to whoever said there are no shade of evil, you could not be more wrong. There are countless degrees of evil, and this … this may mark the greatest height to which evil can aspire.

God forgive us.

Professor Blather on January 19, 2011 at 2:58 PM

Professor, I happen to know that there IS a God up there; his name is Jesus Christ and I can assure you. He is PISSED! The real cute part is; this guy will be justified by some idiot on the left. Which is why I no longer vote for them. This man ought to get first degree murder for EVERY SINGLE LIFE that they can prove that he snuffed out.  However, if I know this liberal society like I know. This black bastard will get little or nothing for his crimes.

There are mean people, there are a-holes, and there’s evil people…..and this man is evil people. 😡

Poor President Barack Obama just cannot catch a break!

I swear, sometimes I feel sorry for the President. I know it sounds strange. But I do. Check out his op-ed:

For two centuries, America’s free market has not only been the source of dazzling ideas and path-breaking products, it has also been the greatest force for prosperity the world has ever known. That vibrant entrepreneurialism is the key to our continued global leadership and the success of our people.

But throughout our history, one of the reasons the free market has worked is that we have sought the proper balance. We have preserved freedom of commerce while applying those rules and regulations necessary to protect the public against threats to our health and safety and to safeguard people and businesses from abuse.

From child labor laws to the Clean Air Act to our most recent strictures against hidden fees and penalties by credit card companies, we have, from time to time, embraced common sense rules of the road that strengthen our country without unduly interfering with the pursuit of progress and the growth of our economy.

Sometimes, those rules have gotten out of balance, placing unreasonable burdens on business—burdens that have stifled innovation and have had a chilling effect on growth and jobs. At other times, we have failed to meet our basic responsibility to protect the public interest, leading to disastrous consequences. Such was the case in the run-up to the financial crisis from which we are still recovering. There, a lack of proper oversight and transparency nearly led to the collapse of the financial markets and a full-scale Depression — Read the rest @ Barack Obama: Toward a 21st-Century Regulatory System – WSJ.com

The reason I feel sorry for the President is this; from what I have read, on both sides of the political fence —- both side hate this, for some reason. The right says that the President says that Obama is just consolidating regulation, the left says that Obama is moving to the right. I mean, good grief people — can not the man just get credit for doing something right?

If you want a sampling of both sides, check out these links and the round up at Memeorandum.com. Again, I hate to be the one in the crowd to tell both sides, but I will — In November of 2008, the American people, in record numbers, elected a man to be different than George W. Bush. Millions of people cast thier hopes and dreams on one man. Now he might not be the perfect person that many on the far left assumed that he was; but the man is doing the very best that he can. What people have to realize is this, the President is the President of the United States of America, not the President of the Democratic Party. President Barack Obama represents all of us; Not just a select few.

I think that everyone; right, center, left and even middle of the road — ought to just take a step back, breathe a little and let the President do his job. The President might not do exactly what everyone wants him to do. But he will do what he was elected to do and that is Govern this Country fairly and according to the precepts set forth by the Constitution. Forget the hype and stupidity that is being promoted on the Fox News Channel and on the Neo-Con Blogs and some of the even more sillier nonsense on MSNBC and the left wing Blogs. President Barack Obama only has as much power, as the Constitution allows him to have.

Further more, I find it ironic, that very same people that worked to elect Barack Obama President and bring change of any sort to this Country are now the one’s bitching and griping because President Barack Obama is not catering to the special interests of everyone in the beltway and beyond.

I have to wonder: What would Martin Luther King Jr. think today?

Because today is his day. I remember the man.

His Best Speech, I felt:

Part 1:

Part 2:

It is without argument; except from some mentally and morally depraved few among the white race — that Martin Luther King Jr. was in fact, the standard bearer of Christian way of fighting racial injustice in America. Martin Luther King Jr. was, in fact, a registered Republican and felt that the progressive black’s slogan of “fight the power” was, in fact. morally wrong. So much so, that Malcolm X said this about Martin Luther King Jr.:

To which Martin Luther King Jr. said back:

You see, some people within the Republican Party and within White Conservative circles do not understand the differences here. Well, I happen to be one of the white people who totally understand the difference. Martin Luther King Jr. was a Conservative Christian, who was, in fact, trying to fight racial oppression by Christian means. Malcolm X was not.

But, now that is all history, MLK was killed, as was Malcolm X was as well. But, I have to wonder, what would Martin Luther King Jr. think of the following, which was compiled by Michelle Malkin:

Harry Reid openly sneered at Hispanic Republicans;

Harry Reid, Jesse Jackson & Company likened Obamacare critics to white supremacists and slave owners;

Journolist members conspired to paint Jeremiah Wright’s critics as racists;

MSNBC attacked conservatives who bought Sarah Palin’s book as paranoid white Tea Partiers;

Charlie Rangel attacked NYPD officers as racists who would arrest President Obama if he weren’t surrounded by Secret Service agents;

Former House Democratic whip James Clyburn played the race card over earmarks;

The FCC played the race card to expand its regulatory powers over the Internet;

The Congressional Black Caucus invoked the race-card shield to deflect widespread corruption charges against its members;

Liberal minority mobsters played ethnicity police against GOP Florida Sen. Marco Rubio;

Democrat Rep. Loretta Sanchez pulled out a divisive mega-race card to whip up Hispanics’ anti-Vietnamese fervor;

DREAM Act radicals bitterly accused opponents of xenophobia and race traitorism;

Progressives led the race-card attacks on the Tea Party from day one;

An NPR commentator cheered the fact that Tucson massacre suspect Jared Loughner was a “gringo;”

And the NAACP has morphed into the National Association for the Advancement of Coddled People.

I often have to wonder, just what would Martin Luther King Jr. think of the progressives who have claimed his mantle?

It is to truly wonder.

LOCAL STORY: ‘Act of a mad man’ or an American who just ran out of hope?

The local liberal media around here is absolutely sickening. They know no bounds at all; smearing a dead man and not only that, someone who owned his own business. This is confirmed by reading the comments on The Detroit News and Free Press as well.

The Story via The Detroit News:

Novi— A man apparently killed his wife and two young sons Friday, then drove a few miles away and killed himself by breathing in poisonous fumes from a charcoal grill he had placed in his car, police said.

About 11:30 a.m., Novi police responded to the home of Mark and Jennifer Schons on Applebrooke Drive near Nine Mile and Napier roads because friends of 38-year-old Jennifer Schons were concerned that her two sons had not shown up for school. Schons, who was having marital problems, had missed a scheduled appointment with a friend, police said.

Shortly after noon, police entered the home and found three bodies in separate bedrooms, including Tynan, 6, and Camden, 4.

Initial police reports were that all died from gunshot wounds, but Novi Police Chief David Molloy said late Friday that was inaccurate. He wouldn’t comment on their cause of death.

Molloy called the deaths “the act of a madman.”

The couple were considering divorce, he said.

A typical open and shut case of a mad man gone crazy right?

Perhaps not. Let’s look a little closer…. Buried in the lead of this story, is this:

Their party supply store on East Grand River in Howell recently failed; Jennifer Schons was a paint engineer for General Motors for 14 years, working in Warren. They filed for bankruptcy in December, claiming $581,000 in debt.

Of course, the paper just had to get a shot of those rich white people’s house:

First off, let me say this; I do not excuse this man’s actions. What he did was absolutely horrible. Ending the lives to two kids, ages 4 and 6 is inexcusable. But the anti-Business, Anti-White bias on this story is unbelievable. For all these idiots know; this man most likely did this, because of the failing economy; which was brought on by the liberal Democrats who sought to game the system, by socially engineering the system.  The man bit off more than he could chew, and most likely the thought of him losing everything and his wife, and children — were just more than he could bear. To some people; especially those who have been wildly successful, going broke or losing it all, is a embarrassment to the point of wanting to die.

What really makes me want to throw up are the asinine comments at the Detroit News site:

That’s what happens when you listen to too much conservative talk radio.

D. Fientz, Pleasant Ridge, MI

Political bias, what political bias? 🙄 Who me?

The Detroit Free Press account of it, is a little less biased. But the comment section is just as sickening. Go read.

There is a Christian lesson here. People that do stuff like this, just have no hope. That hope is found in Jesus Christ. But the money is the man thought here:

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. —- (1 Timothy 6:6-19 KJV)

Obviously this man never read this.

This is also a sign of the times, as spoken of, by the Bible — Here the Word of the Lord Jesus Christ:

“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.” — (Luke 21:25-31 KJV)

The moral of this story is this; this man and his family owned a business, which failed, they had obviously lived well beyond their means and when it all came crashing down around him. He could not handle it and chose Murder and Suicide. That is because this family had no hope. Which only comes in Jesus Christ. We can expect to see more of this as time goes on.

For what it is worth; I happen to know that area very well. It is a upper middle class and yes, very white part of Southeastern Michigan area. Novi, Rochester Hills; where there are multi-million dollar homes — is all up in that area. Again, while this is a tragic event; what is even more tragic is the bias of the liberal media and also, it is a lesson in what is coming to America in the not-so-distant future, if America does not fix this broken economy. Not everyone has the hope in Christ and not everyone can cope with losing everything.

Michael Reagan blasts Brother Ron’s Book

Remember Ron Reagan’s Book that I wrote about last night? Well, looks like Brother Michael is not happy about it.

Michael ripped the excerpt from Ron’s book, “My Father at 100,” that appears in Sunday’s Parade magazine. Ron Jr. cites a 1989 post-presidential visit to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota after a riding accident. “Surgeons opening his skull to relieve pressure on the brain emerged from the operating room with the news that they had detected probable signs of Alzheimer’s disease. Further tests conducted the following year confirmed those suspicions.”

Ron dates his suspicions about the disease to the 1984 re-election campaign. “I felt the first shivers on concern that something beyond mellowing was affecting my father” during the first debate against Democratic nominee Walter Mondale. “My heart sank as he floundered his way through his responses. He looked tired and bewildered.” Ron Jr. also notes that by 1986 his father couldn’t remember the names of familiar canyons when flying over California, adding that doctors now know the disease can go unrecognized for some time. “The question, then, of whether my father suffered from the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s while in office more or less answers itself,” he writes.

“Nobody was happy with the debate,” Michael told me by phone from Miami. But Ron’s suggestion of early onset of the disease “is the last thing I would have expected from him, to take this kind of shot at his Dad with no evidence except he watched a debate between Dad and Mondale.”

The semi-siblings who haven’t spoken in years, are political and religious opposites. Michael Reagan, 65, is a conservative former radio talk show host who was adopted by Reagan and his first wife, actress Jane Wyman. He sired the Gipper’s only two grandchildren with longtime wife, Colleen, and is a regular churchgoer.

Ron, 52, the natural son of Reagan and his second wife, actress and former first lady Nancy Davis Reagan, is a liberal former talk show host on the defunct left-ish Air America network. He is also a self-professed atheist. — Michael Reagan Rips Half-Brother Ron Over Book and Alzheimer’s Claim

You know something to me stands out here and that being this book is less about Ron Reagan Jr. and has dad’s health; and more about Ron Reagan having a grudge against his Dad and his brother. There is obvious bitterness there and Ron Jr. is still angry with his father for leaving the Democratic Party and becoming a Republican. Ron Reagan Jr. is obviously a committed liberal and it burns him to his core that his father became a Republican. So, this is just another potshot at his Dad. I can understand Michael’s feelings, and I can only imagine what Nancy is feeling about right now.

I think that it this point the best thing for everyone in the Conservative world can do, if you are a Christian; pray for the Reagan family —- Pray that peace would come to the siblings. That is what, I believe President Reagan would want us to do.

UPDATED: Living proof that liberals are classless assholes

It has been a long while since I have done this; the reason mainly is because; one, I have sort of grown bored with politics and two, because there has not been any overly asshole’sih stuff to write about —- But, finally, some liberal idiots have done some very tasteless stuff as of recent and the need to mock them for it has arrived, finally.

So, off we go!

Tonight is twofer, seems that this idiotic classless crap comes in waves anymore.

First up Good ol’ Bill Maher, the demented Liberal Jew, the gift that just keeps on giving.

Here is Bill Maher speaking about the founding fathers and how they would feel about the Tea Party: (via HotAir)

Quote:

Now, I want you teabaggers out there to understand one thing: while you idolize the Founding Fathers and dress up like them, and smell like them, I think it’s pretty clear that the Founding Fathers would have hated your guts. And what’s more, you would’ve hated them. They were everything you despise. They studied science, read Plato, hung out in Paris, and thought the Bible was mostly bullshit.

Really? Seriously? Wow. That’s news to me.

Thankfully, Michael van der Galien over at HotAir.com’s greenroom corrects this liberal buffoon’s nonsense:

I hate to break it to you, Bill, but the majority of the Founding Fathers were religious. And those who weren’t orthodox in their beliefs, at least had a healthy respect and appreciation for religion. They didn’t want to force others to believe as they did – certainly – but they respected religion, and the Bible, nonetheless. Even those more critical, such as Thomas Jefferson, believed the Bible contained important lessons – lessons wise men should take to heart. There may have been a few, like Thomas Paine, who held religion in less high esteem, but they were the minority, not the majority.

Furthermore, unlike what Maher seems to believe, the Founding Fathers weren’t big fans of a welfare state. At all. In fact, they considered the government the greatest potential threat to freedom. They understood that an intrusive, activist state always limits a people’s freedom. That’s why they wrote the Constitution in the first place: they wanted to guarantee Americans specific rights, the government could not take away.

The Tea Party continues this tradition. They too stand for individual liberty, over collectivism and social engineering. They want the government to get out of the people’s business – out of their health care and out of their pockets. If there’s one thing they demand, it’s to be left alone to live their lives as they please. Not as it pleases Maher and other cocky liberals who mess up their own lives in virtually every respect, but who nonetheless believe it’s up to them to tell others how to live.

I have had some disagreements with Mr. Galien in the past; however he nails this one very well. Bill Maher is a classless asshole liberal who should be deported out of our Country. This is the same moron who said this little statement:

So, as you see, this man is not a freedom living American. Bill Maher is a anti-American socialist. However, because he is a supposed evolved liberal — he gets a free pass to say this sort of a thing. It also helps too, if you are Jewish — they always seem to get away with this sort of a thing in the media. Sorry if this offends, but it is the truth.

Update: I have gotten some feedback from those objecting to my calling Maher a Jew; and even some accusing me of lying… From Wikipedia:

Maher was born in New York City, the son of Julie (née Berman), a nurse, and William Maher, Sr., a network newseditor and radio announcer.[3] He was raised in his Irish American father’s Catholic religion, remaining unaware that his mother was Jewish until his early teenage years.[4] He subsequently has self-identified as ethnically half-Jewish.[5][6] Maher’s family stopped attending church services when Maher was thirteen, due to his father’s disagreement with the Catholic Church‘s position on birth control.[7]

Now, you say you object to my broadsiding of this man for his Jewish linage? Well, I personally object to this man’s constant broadsiding of Christianity. In other words: Two can play this game. 😡 If Maher’s fans do not like me slamming the hook nosed fool; then maybe they should write him and tell him to stop singling out Christians.

That is all….

Next up is another classless asshole liberal, who just cannot seem to get over the resentment and hatred — of his own father. Mr. Ron Reagan Jr. has put out a book saying that his Father was losing it way back in the day, the problem is…. he is, as most liberal are…. full of crap:

Besides playing amateur doctor, Ron Reagan reveals, if true, brain surgery on his dad never before reported. He accurately reports that Reagan, after leaving the presidency, was bucked from a horse on July 4, 1989, while in Mexico. Ron tells of how his dad, after initially refusing medical help, was transported to a San Diego hospital. “Surgeons opening his skull to relieve pressure on the brain emerged from the operating room with the news that they had detected what they took to be probable signs of Alzheimer’s disease.” Several Reagan associates, however, say there was no surgery in San Diego.

What’s more there is no reporting about any San Diego operation on Reagan. News reports at the time of his fall say Reagan was flown to a hospital in Arizona, where he was treated for scrapes and bruises and released after five hours…

Ron Reagan doesn’t mention this, but says that Reagan visited the Mayo Clinic in 1990 for tests that “confirmed the initial suspicion of Alzheimer’s.” Reagan’s post-presidency history, documented in several archives like University of Texas, reveal no such visit. And Dr. John E. Hutton Jr. his doctor from 1984 through Reagan’s retirement, told the New York Times that Reagan didn’t show the tell-tale symptoms until 1993.

AllahPundit, smacks this liberal asshole down really good:

Follow the link and you’ll see that another big piece of “evidence” is Ron feeling his heart sink as he watched his pop stumble through a bad, “bewildered” performance in his first debate with Mondale in 1984. Quote: “Some voters were beginning to imagine grandpa—who can never find his reading glasses—in charge of a bristling nuclear arsenal, and it was making them nervous. Worse, my father now seemed to be giving them legitimate reason for concern.” That was October 7, 1984; a month later, the “concern” had turned into a 49-state landslide.

I think by now you are beginning to understand as to why I could never vote for these idiots ever, ever again. I mean, it is much, much more than just Barack Obama. It is the entire movement as a whole. What they cannot control, they seek to white wash and rewrite. The Progressive liberals have been doing this for years and they are not getting any better. So, I am done with them, period. While I might not be a “perfect” idea of what some might think a Conservative should be; I could never vote for that party and for that movement and that mindset….ever again. Sorry guys, you blew it for me.

Arizona Shooting Survivor “It Looks Like Palin, Beck, Sharron Angle and the Rest Got Their First Target”

The Video Via Democracy Now! (A very far left internet news website):

Transcript:

JUAN GONZALEZ: The youngest victim of the Arizona shooting rampage has been laid to rest. More than 2,000 people packed into a Tucson church, and hundreds more lined the road outside, to remember nine-year-old Christina Taylor Green. The third-grade student was born on September 11th, 2001. She had recently been elected to her school’s student council. Her funeral was the first for the six people killed last week when alleged gunman Jared Loughton opened fire at a Tucson grocery store in an apparent assassination attempt of Congressmember Gabrielle Giffords.

The shooting has sparked a national debate across the country about political rhetoric. Many have pointed to a controversial map issued by former Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin that included crosshairs on various Democratic districts, including Giffords’. In a tweet at the time, Palin urged supporters, quote, “Don’t Retreat-RELOAD!”

Giffords won reelection in a tight race against her Tea Party-backed Republican opponent Jesse Kelly, a former Marine who served in Iraq. In June, Kelly promoted a campaign event on his website that read, quote, “Get on Target for Victory in November. Help remove Gabrielle Giffords from office. Shoot a fully automatic M16 with Jesse Kelly.”

AMY GOODMAN: Critics have also pointed to comments made by the former Republican candidate for Senate from Nevada, Sharron Angle. Angle came under intense scrutiny during the campaign for suggesting people should invoke “Second Amendment remedies” as a check on the government and to, quote, “take out” her opponent, Harry Reid.

We turn now to one of the survivors of the Arizona shooting, Eric Fuller. He’s a 63-year-old disabled vet who had campaigned for Gabrielle Giffords. He was at the supermarket in Tucson Saturday to meet with Giffords. He was shot in the leg, wounded in the back. We spoke with him at his home in Tucson, and he described what happened.

ERIC FULLER: Once she walked up to me, she said, “I’ll answer your questions, but you have to wait.” And there was a line forming up there, so I went over and I sat down and looked over my questions, only two of them, kind of long ones, and was trying to figure out which one and whether I should, you know, ask those questions, when I heard the sound of gunshots. And I looked over only about 10 or 15 feet away, where Gabrielle Giffords had been standing, and in her place was a very excited gunman who was athletically pumping out the rounds and pointing the gun at anybody that he could get a bead on.

People around me were being hit. I just dove for the ground. And while I was diving for the ground, a round hit me in the knee. I was conscious of that. And while I was on the ground, I guess another one, another round, hit me in the back. A fragment did; it hit me in the back. A woman went over and knocked the clip out of his hand. He was reloading. He had a Glock 9mm with a 30-round clip in it. And my thought on the ground was that he’s going to come and finish us off. But this woman knocked the other clip out of his hand. Then a couple of guys came along, bystanders, and they tackled him, knocked him to the ground.

I was in shock, and I just wandered out into the parking lot. And a woman was pushing a cart full of groceries out there. And I said to her, “I’ve been shot.” And she just looked at me like I was crazy. I was taken to the hospital. And even though I was sedated and everything, I stayed up—I was staying up, stayed most of the night. And I didn’t know how to calm myself down, so I wrote down the Declaration of Independence, which I memorized some time ago. And that did help to organize my thoughts. And the first thing that I wrote down and what my reaction was to it was: “How many other people? How many other demented people are out there? It looks like Palin, Beck, Sharron Angle and the rest got their first target. Their wish for Second Amendment activism has been fulfilled—senseless hatred leading to murder, lunatic fringe anarchism, subscribed to by John Boehner, mainstream rebels with vengeance for all, even nine-year-old girls.” There was a little girl named Christina Green, nine years old, who is one of the deceased.

Another thing I wrote down was, “Can we have another fundraiser at the target range, Jesse Kelly?” Jesse Kelly ran against her in the election. And I’ve heard him speak several—a couple of times, and I couldn’t believe he was a real candidate. I thought he was just like a fake candidate. It didn’t seem like anybody would consider him seriously. He came within 4,000 votes of winning the election. One of his slogans was: “Shoot a fully automatic M16 with Jesse Kelly.” Kind of a very marginal personality and a low mentality.

I worked hard to elect Gabrielle Giffords. I would rather she was busy doing her job today than lying in a hospital with a gunshot wound in the head.

On one hand, I would say he has a very good point. On the other, I believe this person is being rather partisan; because the liberals have been just as rough, if not worse, than the right in some instances. The fact that he chose this website to make this comment shows just where his politics lie, and that should be taken into account.
