Perhaps one of the funniest things I’ve read in quite a while in Politics….

Now this is funny. Here’s an e-mail that Ben Smith received from a Republican Consultant working a Mid-western state focus group.

It’s a good thing I was not drinking anything, else I would have been asking Ben Smith for a replacement laptop.

Quote:

Reagan Dems and Independents. Call them blue-collar plus. Slightly more Target than Walmart.

Yes, the spot worked. Yes, they believed the charges against Obama. Yes, they actually think he’s too liberal, consorts with bad people and WON’T BE A GOOD PRESIDENT…but they STILL don’t give a f***. They said right out, “He won’t do anything better than McCain” but they’re STILL voting for Obama.

The two most unreal moments of my professional life of watching focus groups:

54 year-old white male, voted Kerry ’04, Bush ’00, Dole ’96, hunter, NASCAR fan…hard for Obama said: “I’m gonna hate him the minute I vote for him. He’s gonna be a bad president. But I won’t ever vote for another god-damn Republican. I want the government to take over all of Wall Street and bankers and the car companies and Wal-Mart run this county like we used to when Reagan was President.”

The next was a woman, late 50s, Democrat but strongly pro-life. Loved B. and H. Clinton, loved Bush in 2000. “Well, I don’t know much about this terrorist group Barack used to be in with that Weather guy but I’m sick of paying for health insurance at work and that’s why I’m supporting Barack.”

I felt like I was taking crazy pills.  I sat on the other side of the glass and realized…this really is the Apocalypse. The Seventh Seal is broken and its time for eight years of pure, delicious crazy..

Rolling on the floorLaughing *Snort* That’s just too funny. I’m sorry. I can’t help it. It’s too funny. Rolling on the floorLaughingHee hee

*wiping eyes* Oh man…. *cough* I guess the the only thing I can say is, Reap what you sow.

The Obligatory Obama is ahead in the polls and McCain’s attacks posting.

First off about the Polls. It’s obvious, the economy is literally driving McCain’s campaign into the ditch. The attack ads obviously did not help, but more than anything, it is the economy, the Republican Party is just on the bad side of things. There’s no way around that or no way of spinning it at all. When the economy tanks the American people look to the opposing party to bring change. Which is what happened in 1980 with Reagan and after the stock market crash and subsequent depression in 1929, with FDR. This time the Republican Party is the Political Party that is one on the wrong side of the situation.

While I might not agree with some of Obama’s positions, I think sometimes, that Obama might just bring some jobs back to this area. I know that I could benefit from that. Obviously, Bob Barr is not going to be elected, even I understand that. While I am not going to come out as a flag waving Obama-bot. I will be the first to concede that change is needed in America and at the moment, Obama represents that. I don’t think the change will come at the speed that many are believing, but it will come, sooner or later.

As for the McCain attack ads and how it is affecting him in the polls; the issue is not what the ads said, it was how they were framed and presented to the American people. The entire problem was that John McCain was saying “Bill Ayers, Bill Ayers, Bill Ayers” and Black America and some the more uneducated on the far right, that believe everything that crosses their mailbox were hearing “He’s a black terrorist! He’s a black terrorist! He’s a black terrorist!” Needless to say this has not helped John McCain’s campaign at all. Not only that, but the picking of Sarah Palin was, as far as this writer is concerned, a tragic mistake. I say this because what McCain was trying to do, was appeal to his base. The problem is, you cannot win an election by appealing just to your base. But rather appealing to the Independent Voters or what are called “The swing voters.” They decide the election in the end, not the base of either party.

Obama on the other hand has appealed to Democrats and Independents as well, and also Conservatives as well; Chris Buckley is a prime example. I mean, Chris Buckley?!?! The son of the infamous staunch Conservative icon, William F. Buckley? Obviously, something is wrong with McCain’s campaign for Buckley to give McCain the cold shoulder. John McCain’s own brother blasted McCain’s campaign for not handling him properly.

Obama on the other hand has handled a very steady campaign, at times, in this writers opinion, playing certain “Cards” to their advantage, as they did with Hillary; much to the same effect as McCain’s campaign. This is just called good politics and good campaigning, and most shockingly it has worked.

So, the bottom line is this; John McCain while he might be great person of courage and valor, his campaign has been the Republican equivalent of Hillary Clinton’s campaign. To beat someone like Obama, you must be good, damned good, and sorry to say, but McCain just is not that; Good.

McCain’s latest under the Bus….. Bill Kristol?!?!?!

Now this is quite the shock! Surprise

Bill Kristol offers McCain some advice for his campaign:

It’s time for John McCain to fire his campaign.

He has nothing to lose. His campaign is totally overmatched by Obama’s. The Obama team is well organized, flush with resources, and the candidate and the campaign are in sync. The McCain campaign, once merely problematic, is now close to being out-and-out dysfunctional. Its combination of strategic incoherence and operational incompetence has become toxic. If the race continues over the next three weeks to be a conventional one, McCain is doomed.

He may be anyway. Bush is unpopular. The media is hostile. The financial meltdown has made things tougher. Maybe the situation is hopeless — and if it is, then nothing McCain or his campaign does matters.

But I’m not convinced by such claims of inevitability. McCain isn’t Bush. The media isn’t all-powerful. And the economic crisis still presents an opportunity to show leadership.

The 2008 campaign is now about something very big — both our future prosperity and our national security. Yet the McCain campaign has become smaller.

What McCain needs to do is junk the whole thing and start over. Shut down the rapid responses, end the frantic e-mails, bench the spinning surrogates, stop putting up new TV and Internet ads every minute. In fact, pull all the ads — they’re doing no good anyway. Use that money for televised town halls and half-hour addresses in prime time.

And let McCain go back to what he’s been good at in the past — running as a cheerful, open and accessible candidate. Palin should follow suit. The two of them are attractive and competent politicians. They’re happy warriors and good campaigners. Set them free.

….and McCain promptly tosses Bill Kristol under the bus:

Well, you know Bill is entitled to his perspective. And I used to work for Bill. And I can tell you personally sometimes he’s brilliant and sometimes he’s not. And this is one where it’s the latter category. You know, I think unfortunately he has bought into the Obama campaign’s party line.

The Video:

Must.not.make.wisecrack.about.blonde.bimbo. Must.resist!

Someone, please! Stop the spinning or I’m going to puke! SickHypnotizedSilly

Seriously, If John McCain keeps this up, he is not going to have a base, for long. You just cannot cross your base like this, for very long and win an election.

Then again, he is like, what? 10 points behind? So, perhaps at this point, maybe he doesn’t care.

Biden to Palin – Kiss off Bitch!

I cannot say that I blame Biden here…

Via CNN Political Ticker

Joe Biden Thursday night told Sarah Palin not to lecture him on patriotism, after weeks of attacks mocking him for his statement the wealthy should be patriotic and pay higher taxes because not enough has been asked of them.

“Sarah Palin had great fun saying Joe Biden thinks paying taxes is patriotic. Well, let me tell you what Joe Biden thinks,” the Delaware senator said at an outdoor rally. “Joe Biden thinks that anybody who takes millions of dollars offshore to avoid paying their fair share is unpatriotic.”

The Obama-Biden campaign has accused John McCain of saying publicly he would close offshore banking loopholes, but saying otherwise in private.

“That is not patriotic and it will stop, it will stop in an Obama-Biden administration! Enough! I’ve had it up to here! Don’t lecture me on patriotism,” shouted Biden, getting drowned out by the applause of his supporters. “I’m dead tired of being taken advantage of. I’m getting tired of it.”

I have to agree with this, as much as I hate to admit it. For 8 solid years, anyone who dared to challenge this brain-dead Presidential administration on anything was panned or condemned as Anti-American and or un-Patriotic. (Present Company Included…in other words me!)

Let’s hear more of this Joe, Much more of it! John McCain and that harpy Bitch running with him are a damned extension of that idiotic legacy of painting people as un-American, and I for one would like to see it end.

I am no fan of socialism, at all. But he’s got a damned good point here.

John McCain and the capitalization of fear

I was reading this piece by Ana Marie Cox and it suddenly dawned on me what is happening. I am quite surprised that I did not think of it before.

John McCain is essentially doing what Hillary Clinton tried to do and failed harshly at doing it. It also seems like John McCain’s campaign has some of the same issues that Hillary’s campaign had as well. One hand not knowing what the other is doing.

Quoting Ana:

Here in Lakeville, the traveling press was pretty sure we’d see more of the kind of vicious anti-Obama attitude that’s becoming a hallmark of McCain rallies of late.

As the town hall started, McCain was off with more pep than usual. Making the same old jokes, but with energy that reminded us of “the old McCain.” But would he use his power for good or evil? An audience member teed up a great big softball that could totally hit a dark side home run, asking, “We want you to fight at your next debate… we want to see s REAL fight at the debate, we want a STRONG leader for the next four years.” That is Minnesota nice for “RevWrightACORNAyers,” etc.

But then something weird happens: He acknowledges the “energy” people have been showing at rallies, and how glad he is that people are excited. But, he says, “I respect Sen. Obama and his accomplishments.” People booed at the mention of his name. McCain, visibly angry, stopped them: “I want EVERYONE to be respectful, and lets make sure we are.”

The biggest difference is that this time, it is Right Wingers hating on a Left Wing candidate. The biggest notable exception to this, is this guy here. But he’s an idiot and everyone ignores him. Now, do I believe that there is some crazy person out there who will be inspired to blow Obama away at the first chance he gets? I highly doubt it. Obama is so damn well-protected that he can’t even take a damn leak by himself. So, the chances of that happening are slim to none, in this day and age of super high security. The events of JFK and Ronald Reagan were a wake up call the Secret Service and after that Presidents were so well protected, that something of that nature will most likely never happen again.

Another big and glaring difference is that the McCain campaign, in a indirect sort of a way stoked this whole “Obama is a terrorist” mentality up. Although, to be fair to John McCain and his campaign; these “Obama is terrorist” e-mails had been floating around for a very long time, long before it was ever brought up by John McCain and the campaign. They simply did what Hillary’s campaign attempted to do and were pretty successful at it, for a short time; they capitalized on the fear behind it. However, in the end, it ended up blowing up in their faces, just like it did with Hillary’s campaign.

The lesson to be learned here in this election is this; if you are going to run a Presidential Campaign that Capitalizes on the use of fear, you better be prepared to deal with the extremist factions and reactions of your political party. Because if you not properly prepared to deal with such a thing, it can and will blow up in your face. It also helps to, if you have a political campaign that it settled 100 percent on a campaign strategy.

Brutally Honest: I have lost all faith in the Republican brand

I have held off on Blogging about the recent events here in the election. Partially because of personal reasons, I was a bit busy doing some other stuff with my family and partially because I quite honestly have no defense for what I see as just abject and absolute racism and the stoking of racial hatred in this country, by the party that claims to be the party that liberated blacks from slavery.

Whether the Republican Party or the Conservatives want to admit this or not, but Sarah Palin is doing nothing more than bringing shame to the Republican Party. With her attempting to paint Barack Obama as some sort of terrorist, her allowing and even encouraging people to accuse him of treason and even allowing someone to utter a death threats aloud. I will say this, and if anyone wants to try to paint me as a Liberal, feel free, I just do not care anymore, The Republican Party that I am seeing right before my eyes, is not the Republican Party that I remember as a young boy. This crap is not the Ronald Reagan conservatism that I grew up admiring and respecting. As far as I am concerned, the Republican Party has become a Ku Klux Klan without the robes.

I believe that it is fair and very important to note, that Sarah Palin has ties to terrorism too. Her Pastor was and still is a terrorist by the Bush Administration’s definition. Before he became the Pastor of Wasilla Assembly of God, which she attended for many years, Pastor Thomas Muthee was a missionary to the country of Africa, while there; he decided that there was a local woman in the town of Kiambu, of the name “Mama Jane” who was by his own definition “A Witch.”

Eventually, after repeated harassment by the local law enforcement there, she fled the town. Furthermore, Sarah Palin’s own husband was a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, until 2002, of whom its founder, Joe Vogler said, “I’m an Alaskan, not an American. I’ve got no use for America or her damned institutions.” Joe Vogler was killed in 1993 he is buried in Canada.

Therefore, having said all the above, it is apparent to this writer; that Sarah Palin is nothing more than an abject hypocrite. By her and her party’s definition of “Terrorist,” she is guilty of the very same charges.

I am sorry to say this, but if John McCain continues to allow this sort of nonsense to continue in his campaign, especially when the Nation’s economy is in the damned toilet. When our stock market and financial institutions are being propped up by the United States Government due to a lack of regulation, which was caused by the utter incompetent of one political party and the inaction of another that was in the majority for over 6 years. If John McCain allows this sort of idiotic nonsense to continue, the Republican Party is going to lose and lose very hard, come this election in November.

My thoughts on the Debates

I personally think the debate was draw. I am not in the tank for either, so, I cannot sit here and lie to you.

Yes, there were gaffes on both sides. Palin, at times, did not even answer questions by the moderators. She also took a rather nasty swipe at Biden about his family in the military.

Also, a rather disconcerting event took place last night. When Biden got emotional about his wife and son who died in a car accident. There were some on a unnamed blog that mocked this in their debate chatroom.  I brought it up to two of the moderators in the room in private and of course, both claimed not to see it. I was not amused. Angry I know Liberals do it, does that still make it right? No. To be fair to Ed, it was not his normal crowd that meets at 3:00p.m. weekdays. But still, someone was asleep at the switch and that was not a good thing.

Anyhow, the bottom line is, that Biden did not do anything that hurt Barack’s campaign, neither did Palin, I think. So, as far I am concerned, it was a draw.

Presidential Debate Moderator in the tank for Obama

It appears that the liberal media’s bias towards Obama is now leaking into the supposed apolitical world of Presidential debates.

Michelle Malkin has dutifully recorded the fact that the moderator of these upcoming debates is seriously in the tank of Obama. I guess we can forget about any serious questions being asked of Joe Biden, about his ties to lobbyists. I also suppose we can expect all sort of stupid “Gotcha” questions to Palin and will see a concentrated effort to make Sarah Palin look like some sort of a buffoon.

There’s one thing in Michelle’s article that I very much disagree with, trust me, it is not what you think….:

Like Obama, Ifill, who is black, is quick to play the race card at the first sign of criticism. In an interview with the Washington Post a few weeks ago, she carped: “[N]o one’s ever assumed a white reporter can’t cover a white candidate.”

It’s not the color of your skin, sweetie. It’s the color of your politics. Perhaps Ifill will be able to conceal it this week. But if the “stunning” “Breakthrough” she’s rooting for comes to pass on January 20, 2009, nobody will be fooled.

Michelle, I must respectfully disagree with you assessment here. This is all about skin color. Why do I say this? I will tell you why, because there is an unwritten code amongst the African-American race. It is summed up in the ghetto-type statement, and that statement is:

“A Brother just don’t cut another Brother”

In educated normal American English, that is translated as such:

“An African-American does not stab another African-American in the back”

The point that I am trying to make here is this, if you believe that there will be any sort of legitimate debate here, without bias or favoritism towards the Democrats and more importantly towards Barack Obama’s running mate, you are very highly mistaken.

This unwritten rule dates back to the days of slavery. When a black slave would do something wrong, the White slave owners would question, to find out who did the offense, often so they could beat the slave. Because the black slaves did not want the fellow slave to be beaten, they would not “fess up.” This is where this and the whole “stop snitching” doctrine did originate.

This is not about racism, this about historic facts. Putting another African-America as the moderator of this Presidential debate, would be like asking David Duke to preside over a trial of white supremacists.

New Video: Vets for freedom Ad to air in California

This ad is to Air in California:

Text from the Site:

Today Vets for Freedom released “Skipped” as part of a continuing campaign to urge Senator Obama to tell the Truth about the Surge and fully acknowledge U.S. success in Iraq. The $2.2 million dollar statewide television advertising campaign is VFF’s largest expenditure in a single state buy thus far on this issue. The ad will air in California on October 1st and run through October 9th.

Senator Obama repeatedly denies that the surge worked, contradicting reports from top commanders on the ground in Iraq, yet has only been to Iraq twice and has missed countless votes regarding the mission. VFF released “Skipped” to underscore Senator Obama’s failure to be informed of the situation in Iraq and Afghanistan in order to ask him, and Congress, to support passage of legislation in the U.S. Senate that recognizes the success of the surge and our troops

Click here to read Sen. Resolution 636.

Click here to read Sen. Obama’s previous statements about the surge.

I just wonder if the “Magic one” will try and employ his goon squads to silence these commercials too? Oh, I forgot this discussion is not helping Michelle Obama’s brat kids.

I guess I’ll let that little nugget out of the bag. A few days ago, I received an e-mail from a source, which I will never reveal, letting me know, that I, as a Blogger, should not buy the lie that Obama’s two girls are darling children. The truth is, both of those girls are nothing more than snotty nosed little harpy brats. In fact, one reporter tried “Correcting” them for something they did and the Obama campaign threatened to have that person tossed off the plane. So, a word to the wise. Don’t believe everything read about this man and his family.

Interesting Quote….

I was looking around the news stories and I came across this quote about Obama’s Healthcare plan.

Quote:

Rising health costs push total employment costs up and wages and benefits down. The result is lost profits and lost wages, in addition to pointless risk, insecurity and a flood of personal bankruptcies.

Sustained growth thus requires successful health-care reform. Barack Obama and John McCain propose to lead us in opposite directions — and the Obama direction is far superior.

Sen. Obama’s proposal will modernize our current system of employer- and government-provided health care, keeping what works well, and making the investments now that will lead to a more efficient medical system. He does this in five ways:

– Learning. One-third of medical costs go for services at best ineffective and at worst harmful. Fifty billion dollars will jump-start the long-overdue information revolution in health care to identify the best providers, treatments and patient management strategies.

– Rewarding. Doctors and hospitals today are paid for performing procedures, not for helping patients. Insurers make money by dumping sick patients, not by keeping people healthy. Mr. Obama proposes to base Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements to hospitals and doctors on patient outcomes (lower cholesterol readings, made and kept follow-up appointments) in a coordinated effort to focus the entire payment system around better health, not just more care.

– Pooling. The Obama plan would give individuals and small firms the option of joining large insurance pools. With large patient pools, a few people incurring high medical costs will not topple the entire system, so insurers would no longer need to waste time, money and resources weeding out the healthy from the sick, and businesses and individuals would no longer have to subject themselves to that costly and stressful process.

Preventing. In today’s health-care market, less than one dollar in 25 goes for prevention, even though preventive services — regular screenings and healthy lifestyle information — are among the most cost-effective medical services around. Guaranteeing access to preventive services will improve health and in many cases save money.

– Covering. Controlling long-run health-care costs requires removing the hidden expenses of the uninsured. The reforms described above will lower premiums by $2,500 for the typical family, allowing millions previously priced out of the market to afford insurance.

In addition, tax credits for those still unable to afford private coverage, and the option to buy in to the federal government’s benefits system, will ensure that all individuals have access to an affordable, portable alternative at a price they can afford.

Given the current inefficiencies in our system, the impact of the Obama plan will be profound. Besides the $2,500 savings in medical costs for the typical family, according to our research annual business-sector costs will fall by about $140 billion. Our figures suggest that decreasing employer costs by this amount will result in the expansion of employer-provided health insurance to 10 million previously uninsured people.

Where is this quote found? New York Times? No. The Nation? Nope. The New Republic? Not quite. But rather the Rupert Murdoch owned Wall Street Journal.

It’s not too kind towards McCain either.

Quote:

In contrast, Sen. McCain, who constantly repeats his no-new-taxes promise on the campaign trail, proposes a big tax hike as the solution to our health-care crisis. His plan would raise taxes on workers who receive health benefits, with the idea of encouraging their employers to drop coverage. A study conducted by University of Michigan economist Tom Buchmueller and colleagues published in the journal Health Affairs suggests that the McCain tax hike will lead employers to drop coverage for over 20 million Americans.

What would happen to these people? Mr. McCain will give them a small tax credit, $5,000 for a family and $2,500 for an individual, and tell them to navigate the individual insurance market on their own.

For middle- and lower-income people, the credits are way too small. They are less than half the cost of policies today ($12,000 on average for a family), and are far below the 75% that most employers offering coverage contribute. Further, their value would erode over time, as the credit increases less rapidly than average premiums.

Those already sick are completely out of luck, as individual insurers are free to deny coverage due to pre-existing conditions. Mr. McCain has proposed a high-risk pool for the very sick, but has not put forward the money to make it work.

Even for those healthy enough to gain coverage in the individual insurance market, the screening, marketing and individual underwriting that insurers do to separate healthy from sick boosts premiums by 17% relative to employer-provided insurance, well beyond the help offered by the McCain tax credit.

The immediate consequences of the McCain plan are even worse. The McCain plan is a big tax increase on employers and workers. With the economy in recession, that’s the last thing America’s businesses need.

Finally, Mr. McCain does nothing to bend the curve of rising health-care costs downward. He does not fund investments in learning, rewarding and preventing. Eliminating state coverage requirements will slash preventive service availability.

The high cost-sharing plans he envisions will similarly discourage preventive care. And as he does nothing about the hidden costs of the uncovered — expensive ER visits, recurring conditions resulting from inadequate follow-up care.

To be fair, this was an opinion piece. But the very fact that this was even cleared to be published in the Murdoch’s paper, shows that there are people within the G.O.P. that are NOT happy with John McCain running for President. It also shows that there are people, powerful people within the G.O.P. that are working hard to destroy his chances of being elected.

I guess that is what happens when you stiff your base too many times. Some people may have forgotten about John McCain’s past stupidity, but some, have not. This is living proof of that fact.

Powerful Video

I do wonder if the Obama campaign has seen this or not.

(H/T to Blogwonks)

…..However, I will be fair enough to point out the mistakes.

The Bush Administration admitted that the intelligence that the Bush Administration had, in the leading up to the war, was flat out wrong. Not to mention the “Cherry picking” and stifling of evidence and contrary opinion that surfaced during the lead up the war. Which, in the opinion of this writer, is nothing more than abject fascism.

While I am smart enough to know that this video was not made by the McCain campaign. It does ring at the certain heart string of the American people. However, factually this video falls on it’s face. I agree that the men and women who died in this war, did so believing that they were doing the right thing. However, it does not excuse the fact that mistakes were made. Further more, this video comes across as using our United States Military as some sort of political prop. Which I feel is absolutely sickening.

While this video may be powerful in image and in message. I believe it is a brazen attempt to smear Obama as unpatriotic and inferring that Obama hates our Military persons. That, I am afraid is a bogus lie. I assure you, that if Obama was as nearly as uncaring of our Military personnel as this video infers, he would not even be in the race at all. Because middle America would have never elected him the early primary, if he would have come off as uncaring towards our Military in the primary.

I just do not believe that people are going to buy the subtle message being inferred in this ad, at all. Perhaps in 2004, or even in 2000. But not this time. The country has shifted too much to the left. This because of the many scandals, missteps, and outright blunders by the Government in the last 8 years.

Mr. Silver, Nothing is wrong with Michigan, thank you very much

I wasn’t going to Blog today. But there’s just too much being said, that requires my opinion here.

Liberal Blogger and Obama-bot, Nate Silver asks, What’s the Matter with Michigan?

Democrats have grown accustomed to winning Michigan by relatively comfortable margins. Bill Clinton flipped the state in 1992, bringing home the Reagan Democrats and giving the party its first win in the state since 1968. Clinton’s margin grew to 13 points in 1996–five points better than his national popular vote margin against Bob Dole–and he successfully passed the torch to both Al Gore and John Kerry, each of whom also finished 5-6 points ahead of their national margins in the state. The Tipping-Point States But Barack Obama has had trouble getting traction in the Wolverine State. Although nearly all polling since the Democrats resolved the state’s messy delegate situation in June has had him ahead, it has often been by uncomfortably small margins–just one point, for instance, in a Public Policy Polling survey released on Monday. For most of the election cycle, Michigan has polled no more than 1-3 points ahead of Obama’s national poll standing, placing it well within the range of a potential Republican takeover. All of this comes in spite of a seemingly favorable environment for the Democrats. Michigan, its fortunes still tied to the struggling domestic auto industry, has the nation’s highest unemployment rate at 8.5 percent. Its population is 14 percent African-American, among the highest figures outside of the South. And it has two huge university towns in East Lansing and Ann Arbor, potential ground zeroes for youth voter enthusiasm. Why, then, have Obama’s numbers been sluggish in Michigan?

Well, where do I start? As a former “Left of Center”, and someone who has had contact within the African-American community, I feel I am most qualified to answer this.

  1. Obama is not authentic. – Most African-Americans that I have spoken with, especially among the older African-Americans, they view him as an “Uncle-Tom”. Someone who has sold out to the White Community. They also feel that the only reason that the Democratic Party has chosen him, is to appeal to “White Guilt”. or another way of putting it, would be to say that, the only reason he was chosen, is because he would appeal to a segment of White America.
  2. Obama is too controversial. – Yes, the Jeremiah Wright scandal is still lingering around here. Most African-Americans feel that Jeremiah Wright unfairly smeared the Black Community. In fact, one person told me, that “We don’t all feel that way about America or White people”. That whole “Chickens coming home to roost” thing, was a bit much for many blacks in this area.
  3. Obama is unknown – Most African-Americans that I know, really do not know anything about him, at all. I mean, one person I know, told me, “A couple years ago, nobody knew anything about this man.”  This is not to infer that black believe that he is a Muslim. None of the people that I have encountered, have ever said that he is a Muslim. In fact, some have brought up that it really infuriated them, that many within White Conservative America were repeatedly inferring that Obama was a Muslim, because of his middle name.
  4. Obama is inexperienced – One African-American that I spoke with on this, asked me, “What has he done?” I proceeded to tell him, that he was a State Senator and then a US Senator, he asked me, “Well, what else?” I then told him, that he was a community organizer. He simply said this, “That’s not enough for me.” – So, based upon this, I am assuming that the African-America Community wants an more experienced leader.
  5. Fear of assassination – As much as I hate to bring this topic up, It has been, I am very much ashamed to admit, brought up by those I’ve spoken to. It is pretty much an unspoken thing among the African-American Community. One African-American man I talked to simply said, “He’ll do great….if they don’t get him.” -I really did not want to press to see as to whom, “They” was even referring to. It is very hard to communicate in words the look in that mans eyes, his expression, he was an older man, in his 60’s. I know what he lived through, what he experienced — The Kennedy’s Assassinations, Martin Luther King Jr. – All of that seemed to be what he was referring to. I guess some feel that it could happen again, and that is most likely why they’re not willing to look to another leader again.

I write this, not as a Conservative Blogger, or a “Right of Center” with an axe to grind. I write this as a citizen of the State of Michigan, a resident of Detroit area. Someone who grew up here. Someone who has spoken and interacted with the people here, in my many years of being here. As someone who used to work in and around the downtown Detroit area, as a delivery man. As someone who has driven in the area, where the 1967 riots took place. As someone who has watched this area change. Some for the good, and some, quite frankly, for the bad.  I spoken with and interacted with the people, you can see the scars of the past. You see it in the city. A city which elected it’s first black Mayor, who promised great changes in the city, only to find that he was just as corrupt as the white city officials who used to run the city before him.

A city that after 7 terms in office was able to get rid of that corrupt Mayor and put in a new one. Only to find that was nothing more than an “Uncle Tom”. Then, a ray of hope and promise, a young mayor, someone who could connect with the city.  He started out well, but, he too, fell into that cesspool of corruption.

I guess the best thing to say about this is, people in Detroit and yes here in the rest of Michigan are just cynical, we see this young guy out of Chicago, a Democrat, talking hope and change, and we just sit here and say ourselves. “Now, where have we heard that before?”

Oh Lord No! Anything but that! PLEASE!

I stumbled across a rather humorous Blog posting…

Robert Stacy McCain says:

Charlie Martin reports that his Sarah Palin rumors roundup is so popular it’s melting his servers, so he’s created a backup. I’m still looking for an authentic Sarah Palin bikini photo, by the way, and if anybody’s got Joe Biden in a Speedo . . .

Joe Biden in a speedo?!!??!?!

Oh for the love of the Almighty…. Please, No, not that… I can only handle so much ugly in one lifetime. Restraint, please. I beg you all.

What’s fair…..is fair….

Well, seeing the left is going crazy over rumors about Sarah Palin.

I figured I would start a counter rumor, or just simply ask a simple question.

How do we know that Obama’s “so-called” daughters are even his? Would Barry even agree to an DNA test? It is to wonder.

I mean, the African-American culture is not exactly known for it’s martial faithfulness. If Larry Sinclair is to be believed, Barry got around, maybe Michelle did too.

It is a fair question, but if one asks it, ol’ Bambi Aka the Obamassiah will say, “My family is off limits”. and his bots will attack your site. But yet, the Liberals can make up lies about Sarah Palin.

Such an oddball World we live in.

A movie that every American should watch, before voting

(H/T to AP at Hotair.com)

This movie, if it caught on in the Media would ruin Obama’s chances of being elected President.

Trailer 1:

Trailer 2:

Wow…. I don’t think Barry will have to worry about snipers. He’d better worry about this movie.

This could be a problem for Biden

Just when you think you know a guy…. Stuff like this comes out…

This via the Washington Post:

A son and a brother of Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-Del.) are accused in two lawsuits of defrauding a former business partner and an investor of millions of dollars in a hedge fund deal that went sour, court records show.

The
Democratic vice presidential candidate’s son Hunter, 38, and brother
James, 59, assert instead that their former partner defrauded them by
misrepresenting his experience in the hedge fund industry and
recommending that they hire a lawyer with felony convictions.

The
legal actions have been playing out in New York State Supreme Court
since 2007, and they focus on Hunter and James Biden’s involvement in
Paradigm Companies LLC, a hedge fund group. Hunter Biden, a Washington
lobbyist, briefly served as president of the firm.

A lawsuit
filed by their former partner Anthony Lotito Jr. asserts in court
papers that the deal was crafted to get Hunter Biden out of lobbying
because his father was concerned about the impact it would have on his bid for the White House. Biden was running for the Democratic nomination at the time the suit was filed.

Hunter Biden was made president with an annual salary of $1.2 million, despite his inexperience in the hedge fund industry,
the lawsuit said. Before that, he had been part of the Washington law
firm Oldaker, Biden & Belair, which earned $1.76 million in
lobbying revenue in the first half of 2006, according to Congressional
Quarterly’s CQ MoneyLine. One of its biggest clients is the National
Association of Shareholder and Consumer Attorneys, a District-based
group representing law firms specializing in investment and corporate
law.

Hunter Biden is one of many children and relatives of
prominent members of Congress who have made their careers as lobbyists.
He returned to lobbying after less than a year with Paradigm.

Lotito’s
lawsuit alleges that James Biden called him in January 2006 to arrange
a job for Hunter Biden. It says James Biden told him that his brother
(Sen. Biden) “was concerned with the
impact that Hunter’s lobbying activities might have on his expected
campaign for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination,”
and,
“Biden told Lotito that, in light of these concerns, his brother had
asked him to seek Lotito’s assistance in finding employment for Hunter
in a non-lobbying capacity.”

However, what is not being quoted by most of the anti-obama Blogs is:

The campaign of Sens. Barack Obama and Biden declined to comment on the case, referring questions to Nicholas Gravante Jr., a lawyer representing Hunter and James Biden. Gravante said assertions that Joseph Biden told his brother he was concerned about his son’s lobbying are “absolutely false.”

“This lawsuit has nothing to do with Joe Biden, and there is absolutely no truth to those allegations,” Gravante said. “It is a business dispute between former partners. The suit is baseless.

Brian C. Wille, an attorney for Lotito, said the lawsuit alleges no wrongdoing by Sen. Biden, only that his concerns set in motion the business deal.

“There was a concern that Hunter Biden’s role as a lobbyist would have an impact on the senator’s proposed presidential run,” Wille said. “That’s what James Biden told Mr. Lotito. . . . Was it true? Who knows? There is no allegation the senator was involved in any of these events.”

In an affidavit, Hunter Biden said his father had nothing to do with the deal and that it is Lotito who swindled the Bidens.

He said Lotito lied about being a “fully licensed and accredited securities professional” with hedge fund experience.

In addition, he said Lotito recommended a lawyer to vet the business deal who was under investigation and was ultimately convicted on several felony charges of conspiracy and wire and mail fraud in a scheme to steal millions from a computer company.

So, before anyone jumps to any conclusions. Be sure you read the entire story, before you pass judgment.

It is really sad that WaPo would even put out this story in an effort to derail Biden’s popularity or to bring doubt into the minds of those voting. It speaks to the sick and sad state of our Main Stream Media.

Memo to the Clinton supporters: Will you just get the hell over it already?

Jesus H. freakin’ Christ, this election cycle, for a Blogger like me, is like leading a circular firing squad.

First off, we have Neo-Conservative idiot William Kristol wanting to see nothing short of a floor fight at the Democratic Convention. Oh, I am absolutely sure that Kristol and his gang of Neo-Conservative morons would love nothing more than to see a giant floor fight, complete with (dare I say it?) the assassination of Barack Obama and the chaotic collapse of the Democratic Party into a smoldering heap. This all would be so the Neo-Conservatives could get to John McCain and continue to control Washington D.C. for the next 4 years. Thereby truly continuing the Neo-Conservative agenda in this Country.

Two words Kristol: Keep Dreaming!

If that is not enough to make a man want to take up drinking stiff whiskey, you have former Hillary supporters who are outraged! Outraged, I say! About the fact that Hillary Clinton was not even offered the position of Vice President.

Remember what I said about that circular firing squad? Well, hold on, hope you don’t get dizzy easy.

Listen people, Hillary Clinton, by most accounts, did not even WANT the job of Barack Obama’s Vice President. If she even did, could you freakin’ imagine that vetting process? I mean, people, Bill Clinton took funding from suspected terrorists overseas to build that freakin’ library of his! Not mention the fact that Bill Clinton seriously screwed over a guy, by the name of Peter F. Paul, who was business partners with Stan Lee. Heck, Peter F. Paul has living breathing evidence that Hillary Herself committed a felony during her fundrasing during her senate election campaign.

Not to even mention that if Barry had said, “Okay, forget the vetting, you can be my V.P.” Could you imagine that absolute shit-storm that the far, far, right would have created had Hillary been accepted for the Vice President? You have to know that the far right would have been digging for every last piece of media footage from the Waco compound siege in Waco, Texas and using it for Ads against Obama. Not to mention, The Monica scandal, Travel Gate, White Water, Vince Foster, and the list goes on and on and on and on.

Barack Obama might be a far lefty Liberal, but people, he is no dummy. Yeah, Biden might have a little baggage from a 1988 President campaign when he copied a speech. But honestly, that is absolutely nothing like the baggage that Hillary Clinton comes with. I mean, the two just are not comparable.

To the hardened Hillary supporters, I simply say this. I do not like anymore than you that Hillary lost. I think what the Democrat Party did here in Michigan and in Florida was absolutely wrong. But, unless your Party does something to change the rules of selection for President of United States, there’s nothing that can be done about it. The states moved up their primaries, and the DNC decided to punish them for it. Unless there are rule changes, that is just the way it is. I mean, standing around sucking your thumb and stamping your feet is not going to change a thing. I mean, seriously, do you, as an American citizen want to see four more years of George W. Bush?!?!?! That would be absolutely insane. You all just need to get the hell over it, and hope the Hillary decides to run again in 2012 or 2016. By that time, if Barry is a lame duck by then, Hillary will have a clear shot at the White House. That is, if she has not stroked out or something.

I hate to say this, But I KNEW this was coming……

Call me naive, call me stupid, call me, well, racist. But this article is nothing more than nuanced, glamorized bullshit.

Racism is the only reason Obama might lose. By Jacob Weisberg (Via Slate Magazine)

What with the Bush legacy of reckless war and economic mismanagement, 2008 is a year that favors the generic Democratic candidate over the generic Republican one. Yet Barack Obama, with every natural and structural advantage in the presidential race, is running only neck-and-neck against John McCain, a sub-par Republican nominee with a list of liabilities longer than a Joe Biden monologue. Obama has built a crack political operation, raised record sums, and inspired millions with his eloquence and vision. McCain has struggled with a fractious campaign team, lacks clarity and discipline, and remains a stranger to charisma. Yet at the moment, the two of them appear to be tied. What gives?

If it makes you feel better, you can rationalize Obama’s missing 10-point lead on the basis of Clintonite sulkiness, his slowness in responding to attacks, or the concern that Obama may be too handsome, brilliant, and cool to be elected. But let’s be honest: If you break the numbers down, the reason Obama isn’t ahead right now is that he trails badly among one group, older white voters. He does so for a simple reason: the color of his skin.

What baloney!

The National Journal named Barack Obama as one the most liberal senators in Washington D.C.

Not to mention his wacky pastor, his associations with unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers. Not mention his disdain for those who actually believe in a God, think that it’s our constitutional right to own and carry a gun, and would like see illegal immigration stopped and our border secured.

No, it’s none of that, it’s because white people, like me, are racist. 🙄

Of course, if a white conservative, like myself, says that Barack Obama would not be where he is, if it were not for the color of his skin, we’re racists. If a white conservative, like me, says that B. Hussein Obama, ol’ Barry the Magic Negro, is nothing more than a product of a un-constitutional civil rights act, passed by a communist infiltrated, liberal congress in 1964, we’re racist.

If Barack Obama was a white man, he’d working in law office somewhere and wouldn’t be able to get a job as a shoeshine boy (or he’d he shining something! Larry Craig’s ummm.. car? ) in the capital building in Washington D.C.

But if people, like me, say that. We’re racists….

Identity Politics, you have to just love it.

Sometimes, I wish Biden HAD won the primary. Maybe we’d have a chance that this election would be fairly carried out, and without all the white guilt and race hustling and baiting.

You ask me, what do I have against a Democrat, much less a black Democrat getting into the White House? I give you the best, the most perfect example of why I feel it would be a total disaster for a corrupt black Democrat to be in the White House. I only ask that you look in my home town. Detroit, Michigan.

If that is not a good enough reason, I do not know what is.

Ouch!

Via FOX Embeds:

After Joe Biden slammed Rudy Giuliani during a debate last year with his famous line that a sentence for the New York mayor consists only of
a noun, a verb and 9/11, Hizzoner’s camp returned fire with a comment that looks a little more amusing given the day’s news.

Then-Giuliani Communications Director Katie Levinson shot back with this sharp retort:

“Senator Biden has never run anything but his mouth. Such a desperate attack from Senator Biden is to be expected considering I –
Katie Levinson – have a better chance of becoming President than he does,” the statement concluded.

Not the first thing the Giuliani campaign miscalculated…

Ohhhhh Snap! That’s gonna leave a mark! and this is from Fox? 😯 😮 Wow!

I like the look on Hillary and Edward’s face…
