3 am thoughts from the iPod

It’s 3:00am and I cannot sleep worth a darn. So, I thought I’d write here for a few.

A few news items:

Goldsilver.com has moved it’s affiliate program out to a third party company. What does that mean for you? Nothing. Same product and company. What does it mean for me? More money, I hope. So, click that big banner on the left and buy the hell out of gold and silver too please. It helps!

(please do know, if you’ve bought already; one that I appreciate the heck outta ya and two, yes it has gone for a very good cause. I have not, in months now, had to ask my parents to help me buy my medication for ADHD. That, in itself is a very awesome thing. That medication, which has now went up over $40.00; keeps my rather small pea brain in gear and my mental accordion in tune. (so to speak) again thanks! You guys keep me going. )

More suppliers for Ammo added: some of you emailed me a while back and said that you thought ImpactGuns was too pricy on ammo. For once, I was listening. So, I have added three (!) new suppliers for ammo. They are on the left, in the sidebars. I figure you cheapskates can find some ammo for your “pop pop” at those links, that won’t break your piggy bank. You can get “pop pop’s” too from Impact Guns. Remember, it goes for a very cause! It keeps me off the Government dole and out my parents wallet, as much possible.

Donations via paypal rock. Those of you who done it are awesome. You know who you are!

My bookstore is awesome, and you should check it out.

Jeff “goldenboy” Goldstein is still an prick… as are his sock puppets. Some goes for Ace. But that chick that was stalking Jeff? She is whacked! still doing stuff to get into trouble! Holy hell! I mean, I’ve done share of crap stirring but man, she takes the stuff to another level!

No hyperlinks. Sorry, too much of a pain on this iPod.

I made a contact with a very well known black Christian singer from the 1980’s on the ham radio box today. He’s been on PTL club and Gaither home coming videos. Last name is Harris. worked him on morse code. I was “star struck” as they say, felt like I worked Elvis.

September 11 is coming. 10 years now. We as a nation have changed. I did, everyone did. I thought about doing a “rake those #%^%#*# over the coals” type of a post, but I figure that’s what those idiots want. so, I’ll most likely just either refrain from posting at all or do a simple remembrance posting…. Maybe.

The problem with 9/11 is that it became this whole thing unto itself; and both sides —- use it as a wedge issue. Which is sickening, IMHO.

Well, enough yammering from me. More posting soon, when I wake up.

Yum: Carl’s Jr. Testing a “Footlong Cheeseburger”

Hoo-Boy! I’ll take one of these….: (Via HotAir Headlines)

Carl’s Jr. simply couldn’t sit still too long while KFC hopped into the sandwich game with their Double Down from days ago. It looks like they’re trying to make some waves with this new “Footlong Cheeseburger” they’re testing out at one of my local Santa Ana, CA, locations. The sandwich comes along with some chuckles, to say the least. It sells for $4 (the plain cheeseburger), and the deluxe is set at $4.50 (comes with all the fixings, lettuce, tomatoes, onions). The combo meals are set at $6.50 for the cheeseburger version and $7.00 for the deluxe footlong.

The 12-inch burger is wrapped like a sandwich, and sticks out of most of the to-go bags offered up at the location, so it was definitely an interesting sight. I’m not sure how well the burger will fair, it’s basically just a few patties and ingredients mimicking a sub sandwich, which may end up not helping its overall appeal. The dough on the bread seems a little off, but the execution of the entire sandwich still remains interesting and I’m intrigued to say the least. As for the patty, it actually consists of smaller individual patties, instead of one larger piece (which may have earned it some more “craziness points“). Maybe they will make some modifications if they decide to roll this burger out nationally. Until then, what do you guys think of the pictures, or if you’ve tried it yourself, please share your thoughts with us!

Sarah Palin needs help with her legal bills

I received this via e-mail:

Dear Pat,

Time is running out.

Since the first frivolous ethics charges were filed against Sarah Palin two years ago, legal bills for the Palin family have mounted into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Last year, friends of the family set up the Alaska Fund Trust to help pay legal fees. They used the words “official legal fund” so that supporters would know it was the fund trusted by the Palins.
But now — because Governor Palin used the word “official” —  an independent counsel decided that Sarah Palin “violated” the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act when she served as governor of the state.
Funds donated to the Alaska Fund Trust were immediately frozen until the legal challenge was sorted out.
Governor Palin has now agreed to send the money back to the donors. This means that not a single dollar of the trust fund went to pay the Governor’s massive legal fees.
On June 24, 2010 a new legal defense fund — The Sarah Palin Legal Defense Fund — was created to pay these urgent legal bills.
We set up the new fund to cover the Palin’s legal bills for past, present, and future attacks.
The fund has been set up by friends and trusted advisors of Governor Palin.
Let’s help Governor Palin with this incredible burden that no citizen should have to bear and  free her to speak out on behalf of conservatives all across this great country.
Will you help us relieve Governor Palin of this burden?

Pat, as a supporter of Governor Palin, help us with the legal fees stemming from those frivolous charges against Governor Palin.

Yours truly,

Tim Crawford

Trustee

The Sarah Palin Legal Defense Fund

Now, I will tell you this; I was never really a huge Palin fan. But I thought the gal got a raw deal with the liberal media and from idiots that put this Lady through the mill. I am asking those who actually read this blog to help Palin out. Further more, because of hateful bastards like these twits here, I am asking that you double your support for Palin.

The main reason why I even wanted to get involved with this; is this fact right here:

They called it the Alaska Fund Trust, the “official legal fund” for Governor Palin.

In fact, they added the words “official legal fund” so that supporters would know it was not just approved by the family, but that it complied with disclosure requirements, had professional management, created limits on who could donate and how much could be donated, and a variety of other restrictions that made it a very conservative and limited trust.

Further, the word “official” was used to distinguish the Alaska Fund Trust from other legal defense funds that were starting to pop up and no one knew if these would comply with disclosure laws, lobbyist restrictions, etc.

But now – because she used the word “official” – an independent counsel decided that the Trust “violated” the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act and now requires the Trust to send back every single donation raised by the defense fund while she was governor.

The left-wing media wants you to think Gov. Palin is an “ethics violator.” But they ignore the actual findings that Gov. Palin acted in good faith and relied on a team of expert trust lawyers to set it up.

They ignore that Gov. Palin stated one overriding principle: if the trust fund could be lawfully set up, she would support it. That is hardly the action of a person bent on skirting the law, contrary to the hysterical commentaries. But they ignore the truth and prefer to propagate lies about Sarah Palin.

They DON’T want you to know:

  • The National Democratic Committee used its Alaska chapter, the Alaska Democratic Party (ADP), to create a website with one stated goal: “Keep Sarah Palin Out of Public Office.” To this day, the Democrats use this website to publicly seek donations for funding bogus “legal challenges involving issues related to Sarah Palin.”
  • The ADP’s “Keep Sarah Palin Out of Public Office” campaign used our own legal system to sponsor more than two dozen ethics complaints against Governor Palin. Out of the 27 complaints, 26 were dismissed!
  • The so-called “independent counsel” who started this investigation was an attorney from President Barack Obama’s law firm.

The money in the Alaska Fund Trust has been frozen and bills gone unpaid.

You see the part up there, that I put in bold, underlined and colored red? That, my friends, is the reason why I even bothered to post this here. This crusade against Sarah Palin is nothing more than a 21 century lynching against a Conservative Christian Woman.  Admittedly, John McCain’s campaign did do some stuff wrong; at least I feel anyway… — but the bulk of blame goes towards the Democrats, who relentlessly hounded this woman to death and still continues to do so.

Which is just one, in a litany of reasons why I will never vote for anyone representing the Democratic Party, ever again.

Now, I ask you; as a Christian, as someone who believes that the Republican Party does, in fact, embrace the Tea Party values and does want to see a strong, secure America. * I ask you to help Sarah Palin pay down these legal bills, so that she can be free to enjoy the rest of her political and personal career, as she sees fit. Please, do not allow these liberal bastards to bring someone like Palin down or allow them to win the battle. Fight back, with the best weapon possible — your pocketbook. I know times are hard; In fact, I am going through tough times myself. But, all donations, no matter how big or how small will help her out.

Thanks for reading. 🙂

-Patrick

* – Disclaimer: I have never, nor will I ever, be a member or affiliated with the actual Republican National Committee. I have never as much sent them a dime. So, before you call me a Republican, please note this.

The Reality Report #52

If you can get past the tin foil hat sounding stuff in this video —– It is actually pretty good.

Way too fast

I say this, at the risk of sounding like a crusty old curmudgeon:

The Bugatti Veyron

The Bugatti Veyron is, once again, the fastest production car on the planet.

Bugatti says an orange-and-black Veyron 16.4 Super Sport achieved an average top speed of 267.8 mph at the hands of test driver Pierre Henri Raphanel. Stop and think about that for a moment. That’s more than 393 feet per second and almost 4.5 miles per minute. Even Bugatti’s engineers were surprised.

“We took it that we would reach an average value of 425 km/h (264 mph),” chief engineer Wolfgang Schreiber said in a statement. “But the conditions today were perfect and allowed even more.”

Raphanel made his record-setting run at Volkswagen’s test track in Ehra-Lessien, Germany, in the latest version of the greatest automobile ever made. He had one hour to make back-to-back runs in each direction. The speedo hit 427.933 km/h against the wind and 434.211 with it. That came to an average of 431.072, which by our math is 267.8 mph.

And that was more than enough to take the title back from Shelby Super Cars and the Ultimate Aero, which had held the record since peeling off an average of 256 mph in 2007. Raphanel set the record on June 24; Bugatti announced it on July 4. Bugatti says Guinness was on-hand to verify the record, and we imagine the guys at SSC will not take this sitting down.

As the name suggests, the Super Sport is a hot-rodded version of a car that already has too much of everything. The 16-cylinder engine has been tweaked and tuned with bigger turbochargers (four, count ‘em, four) and intercoolers. Bugatti says the engine is good for 1,200 horsepower and a staggering 1,106 pound feet of torque.

via King of All Cars Tops 267 MPH | Autopia | Wired.com.

I’m sorry, but 267 miles per hour is just way, way, waaaaaay too fast. I mean, I am all for the idea of going fast; in fact, I love going to Milan Dragway here in Milan, Michigan. But for a street car, 267 miles per hour? Hell no. Too fast. Reason I say that is because if you happen to be in one these contraptions, and you happen to hit an inanimate object going that fast — forget calling the ambulance; call the farking morgue. Be sure to tell them to bring a big spatula, to scrape your greasy spot off of whatever you hit.

Do not misunderstand me; it is a nice car — To look at and say, “Yeah, I bet that thing goes really fast!” 😉

Fellow Michigan Blogger Needs Help

It seems a fellow Blogger from the Detroit Michigan area could use some help….:

I am so screwed friends. I’m so desperate for a job I applied yesterday to be a server in a ribs joint for 2 nights a week. The good news is it was a very short application. The bad news is before I left the woman who took it, asked for my birthday. She made it pretty clear that I’m too old for the job. That’s not even legal of course, but who’s going to sue over a two night job? I didn’t get the good bartending job either. I see the ad is out of the paper.

But that’s not the worst part. I got a letter from the bank. They cut off my credit card. I was depending on that to pay my bills this month. I won’t even be able to afford my medications now, much less buy food. Not that the food is so important. I don’t eat much anyway and I have enough in the cupboards to last a while. Besides I’m so upset I haven’t been to able to eat anyway. I can barely hold down the food. Not to mention the heat is making me sick. I haven’t turned on my AC because I was trying to keep the electric bill down. It averages from 85 to 90 in the apartment and it’s too hot to eat anything but pasta salad. It doesn’t help that I haven’t been able to sleep more than five hours for a week since I was already freaking about the job situation. I wake up in a panic. Sometimes I vomit. I lost five pounds this week.Via – The Impolitic: I am so really screwed

Now some people would want to know why I would even remotely even want to help someone from the other side of political fence. I will answer this:

  1. Politics is one thing and real life is another.
  2. I am in a similar situation myself. If it were not for my parents, I would be in the same spot.
  3. She’s a Lady; a liberal lady, but I digress….  and I am about a sucker for a damsel in distress.

….and for the most important reason:

Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. — (Romans 12:20-21 KJV)

Further More….:

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. — (Matthew 5:43-45 KJV)

and…..:

But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.(Luke 6:27-35 KJV)

That is the reason. As much as I have issues with the modern day Church world; and it’s Americanized version of Christianity. I have not forgotten, nor have I abandoned my Christian Faith. Therefore I implore every Christian and Conservative who reads this blog, to open their hearts and their wallets to help this lady out.

Sometimes, there are things that are much more important, than political jousting. This, is one of those times.

What I would really like for my birthday

Yeah, in case, you ain’t heard… I’ve proved the bastards wrong….again.

I turned 38 years old today. Two years away from 40! Holy Hell… 😯 😮

Just seems like yesterday that I was sitting in my room, sulking, because I had turned 30 and didn’t have much to show for it.

Well, that was 8 years ago… Wow… Does not seem that long ago… But, it was. 🙂

Anyhow, Here’s present that I just love to own… As you all know; I am a Licensed Amateur Radio Operator; General Class.

On Christmas, I blogged about how much I’d love to own a Ameritron AL-1200 and a Icom 7800. While the ICOM 7800 is nice, the AL-1200 is unrealistic at this point. Mainly because the costs involved; and because I would have run 220 into the bedroom here to run it. Which would be a major pain in the butt.

Enter the Ameritron AL-572:

My Other Hobby in the spotlight on NPR

I thought some of you might be interested in this:

Stanley Hardman, an amateur radio operator, and his family look at transmitting equipment in 1939.

Only a few years ago, blogs listed ham radio alongside 35 mm film and VHS tape as technologies slated to disappear.

They were wrong.

Nearly 700,000 Americans have ham radio licenses — up 60 percent from 1981, a generation ago. And the number is growing.

Ham radio will never have the sex appeal of the iPhone, but it does have a certain nerd appeal, says Allen Weiner, an analyst at the technology research firm Gartner.

“If it creates its own experience, that’s really what’s key here,” he says. “If it just emulates an experience that you can get online, it’s not going to grow.”

Off to get some sleep

Once again my body clock is all “catty whompus”, which means screwed to hell.

I zonked out last night at like 10:45 P.M. and woke back up around 2:00 a.m. I’ve been up ever since and right about now; I am quite pooped. 😛

So, I shall return when I arise from my slumber.

Meanwhile, check out some of the blogs in my sidebars. 😀

Good Night…

Wake Up

HEH: Hey AP, this one’s for you big guy!

HEH! 😆

Only people with certain imbalances buy the first iteration of Apple products.

via My Best Buy had no iPads, no line | Technically Incorrect – CNET News.

AllahPundit, call your office! 😀 😉 😛

Hey, at least Mr. Candy-ass Rino has the cash to buy one of these things. More than I can say for yours truly here. 🙁 😥 or as AP says, Heart-Ache.

Not everyone is sold on the iPad

Irk! Now this is not a good thing to read:

Gadgets come and gadgets go. The iPad you buy today will be e-waste in a year or two (less, if you decide not to pay to have the battery changed for you). The real issue isn’t the capabilities of the piece of plastic you unwrap today, but the technical and social infrastructure that accompanies it.

If you want to live in the creative universe where anyone with a cool idea can make it and give it to you to run on your hardware, the iPad isn’t for you.

If you want to live in the fair world where you get to keep (or give away) the stuff you buy, the iPad isn’t for you.

If you want to write code for a platform where the only thing that determines whether you’re going to succeed with it is whether your audience loves it, the iPad isn’t for you.

via Why I won’t buy an iPad (and think you shouldn’t, either) – Boing Boing.

I have to give props to Mr. Cory Doctorow for his brutal honesty. The article is quite the good read; from a standpoint of someone, who does not even own a iPod, much less an iPhone! 😀 I mean, I am just not big into, what I like to call, useless gadgets. To me, a phone is for making phone calls. Not for sitting there and playing games and all the crap you can do on them today. I mean, there is a thing called “Sexting” which is transmitting rather nasty pictures of one’s self over the internet. We never had to contend with stuff like that when I was a kid. (I am 37, by the way…) Besides that, you would not want to be transmitting naked pictures of my body anyhow; as I am almost sure it would cause someone great problems of the psychological sort to see me naked.

Now, from a greedy capitalist’s stand point; if I had a bunch of shares with Apple right about now and I saw this article. I would be asking for this guys head on a platter. I mean, just who the hell does this grumpy old jackass think he is? I am sure that Steve Jobs is not too happy about someone dissing his product, that he’s worked his rear end off to produce. On the other hand, this is just one man’s opinion of this product and I am sure that there are many others who have written that this is an exciting product to try.

The bottom line is this; we live in a free market, capitalistic society, and that free market will decide if this product is a smashing success or if it will be a flop. That is because that Free Market allows the PEOPLE, not the Government, to choose whether a product will be sold or even successful or not. Granted, it will take effort to make this happen; promotion by the company, the sales people and even the customer to buy the product. However the point is….. the freedom of choice is there. You can choose which product you wish to own by apple, all of them or none of them at all. That is the beauty of America. The only thing stopping you is your financial situation and also possibly your personal desire to own such product. Personally, even if I did have the money to own one of these iPads, I most likely would not own one. Because I personally do not see the point in owning such a thing. I have a very nice laptop, which suits my needs perfectly. I also do not see the point in owning something like this, and then having to own a iPhone or something similar, why not just put a camera and the ability to make phone calls in it as well? Again that is wonderful power of personal freedom and choice.

Now I could yammer on here about how the some of the Democrats and the socialists want to do away with all this freedom and change the system we have here in America. But I think everyone that reads this knows my position on those subjects. It also is not lost on me, where this thing is produced and the political positions of some of the people that will own one of these things.  However, I will not bring that into this discussion here, as I am blogging about an iPad. 😉 😀 😛

Update #2: Message to AllahPundit: Do you really want to be known as the dude who owns a electronic gadget, who’s name basically invokes thoughts of a Electronic Maxi-Pad or Internet Maxi-Pad? Not if you are Beta-Male. I mean, you are already being called a candy-ass Rhino as it is; you do not need anymore help. I’m just sayin’ 😛

Possibly one of the funniest iPad questions ever

Seeing AP is having the iPad orgasm blues or something to that effect. I thought I would share with you one of the funnier questions related to the iPad yet.

This comes via David Pogue over at the ol’ Grey Lady:

Q: I read that it has a fingerprint-resistant screen, but then you said the fingerprints show up disgustingly. What’s the real story?

A: Fingerprints are greasily, streakily visible when you turn off the screen. But the iPad has the same oleophobic (oil-resistant) coating as the iPhone, so all the streaks disappear with a single firm wipe on your pants leg.

Someone tell the person that asked that rather funny question, that you are not supposed to be playing with your, ahem, iPad, when you have your fingers into a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken. 🙄

That is, of course, unless you are into such things. 😯

Just a thought. 😀

Your Daily War Porn Video

(H/T Zip)

AllahPundit is Nucking Futs, this movie is funny!

Never trust an anonymous turban wearing meatball to rate a Movie! This Movie is going to be hilarious. That is, if it is actually as funny as the trailer.

Okay, to be fair, HuffPo said it stinks too. But serious, what the fark does a bunch of Liberal Politicos know about comedy movies anyhow? 😉

My favorite part: “My Bad, I slipped off the seat.” That and the surfing, “Somebody get me off this thing!” Comedy gold.

Stick to politics Allah, Please. Else Hollywood might go broke! 😀 😉 😛 😆

Update: Okay, Yes, the dancing scene was a bit over the top and the chick griping at the dog, when he stuck his snout in the sink was not convincing; but it is still funny!

Rosanne Bar on the Oscars

Oh, this is too rich

Barr on the Oscars:

I take it–I didnt watch at all. The self congratulations gross me out. I did of course watch the final episode of Big Love. Wow! I hope we dont have to wait too long to see more next season. Revolution is coming to Utah! Bill is coming out of the “closet.”

Seeing she does not have a problem with coming after me. I will simply say this….

Um, Rosanne dear… Could it be that you are just a bit bitter, because no one in Hollywood wants to work with your sorry butt any longer? Maybe? Possibly? I think so.

UPDATED: Anyone else watching the Oscars? – Some did not like it

Yeah, I am watching them. They seem to be a bit more glamorous than usual.

Consider this an open thread.

I do moderate stuff, but I’ll approve anything that isn’t trollish or insulting to me.

(H/T The Left Coast Rebel)

Sorry, but real life called

As I sit here at 6:15 a.m. I feel I should explain my absence from blogging last night.

I was a bit busy. Ended up getting a new cable box. Comcast wanted to replace the old one, here’s a pic:

Old Cable Box

Here’s the new one:

Tiny little thing, ain't it?

Another shot of the Tiny New Cable Modem Box

Here’s a wide shot of the Modem Box, Wireless Router and 8 Port Wired Router. All are Linksys. Modem Box is an RCA.

The internet crap stack

Pardon the dust and the mess. I am a guy after all. 😉 😛 😀

So, that is what I was up too after about 4:00, Internet techy got here at about 4:50. He swapped out the boxes. Smart guy, was African-America or as some call it; black. Quite smart and very friendly. I did not mention what I do on the internet.

So, anyhow, he left, I putzed around getting everything back up and running; so my parents wouldn’t go into Facebook games withdrawal. Then it dawned on me, I was freakin’ starving. So, I grabbed a little bite to eat. By then it was around 6:00 or so. My Dad had an eagles club meeting, so, I was designated dinner picker upper. So, I did that, ate my supper. Then, dad arrived home and then asked me to go get him some of those Swisher Sweet Cigars, strawberry flavored, that he just loves to smoke… (The man is a weirdo….). I went to the usual place and they, naturally, were out. So, I went back home and informed him he’d have to go find them elsewhere.

By this time it was 8:30, and I watched what little of Bill O’Reilly’s show that I was able to watch. By 9:00 I was beat to hell. I zonked out. Slept heavy too. Woke back up around Midnight and took my meds. I also woke up hungry enough to eat a small horse. So, I grabbed a snack. A big mac and a small fry only goes so far. 😉 So, Anyhow, I’ve been awake ever since. I am starting to yawn here. So, I’ll most likely lay down here for a few hours and grab some shuteye and be up later on this afternoon. It isn’t like there’s anything earth shattering happening anyhow.

So, apologies to those who were wondering where I was. Once and while I do have a life and do have to attend to other matters. 😀
