I think everyone who is worried about thier jobs and what’s happening with the big three need to read this Blog posting.
I have never been so angry at my Government and at Washington D.C. as I am, right now. Go read the posting and you’ll see why. đĄ

New York Times has the story:
But the inventory glut in Long Beach is not limited to imported cars. There has also been a sharp drop in demand for the portâs single largest export: recycled cardboard and paper products.
This material typically goes to China, where it is used to make boxes for new electronics and other products that are sent back to the United States. But Chinese factories reacting to sharply falling demand are slowing production, so they need less cardboard. Tons of paper are piling up recycling businesses around the port, the detritus of economies on hold.
Long Beach is an important port, particularly for the West. It is where imported products arrive and filter through the tributary of trucks, trains and retailers into the hands of consumers. But now, products are just sitting.
âWeâre supposed to move things, not store them,â Mr. Wong said.
Roughly 20 percent of the nationâs container imports last year came through Long Beach, putting it close behind the largest container port, Los Angeles. This year, shipping volume at Long Beach is down 10 percent from 2007, and nearly all major ports around the country have seen similar declines. Veteran port workers say the slowdown since mid-October is like nothing they have ever seen. And it is having a cascading impact on other businesses and workers. – Read the rest

The New York Times is reporting:
The government of Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki is systematically dismissing Iraqi oversight officials, who were installed to fight corruption in Iraqi ministries by order of the American occupation administration, which had hoped to bring Western standards of accountability to the notoriously opaque and graft-ridden bureaucracy here.
The dismissals, which were confirmed by senior Iraqi and American government officials on Sunday and Monday, have come as estimates of official Iraqi corruption have soared. One Iraqi former chief investigator recently testified before Congress that $13 billion in reconstruction funds from the United States had been lost to fraud, embezzlement, theft and waste by Iraqi government officials.
The moves have not been publicly announced by Mr. Malikiâs government, but word of them has begun to circulate through the layers of Iraqi bureaucracy as Parliament prepares to vote on a long-awaited security agreement.
That pact sets the terms for continued American presence here after the United Nations mandate expires Dec. 31, but also amounts to a framework for a steady reduction in that presence. Such a change will undoubtedly lessen American oversight of Iraqi institutions.
While some Iraqi officials defended the dismissals, saying there had been no political motivation, others pointed to the secrecy involved as supporting their view that those removed had lost their posts without good cause. Each of Iraqâs 30 cabinet-level ministries has one inspector general. These oversight officials are supported by varying budgets and staffing. – Read the Rest
As much as I would like to say that this is the first I have heard of this, it is not. CNN did an investigative piece on the corruption in Iraq a good long while back.
As a Paleo-Conservative, who felt that going into Iraq was not a very smart idea, and as someone who now is aware that the intelligence that United States had as a case to go into Iraq was in fact flawed; I believe that the smartest thing that the United States can do as this point is, leave well enough alone. Because at this point, intervening in a situation such as this, can could cause more harm that good. It would be viewed by the Iraqi Government and to the people of Iraq, as the United States meddling in the affairs of the Iraqi Government. Let the Iraqi Government handle their own internal affairs.
Because honestly, it would reek of hypocrisy, if we began to meddle in the affairs of their internal Government, after all, we have corruption in our Government and you do not see Great Britain meddling in our affairs, do you? Of course not; So the United States should do likewise. One of the worst mistakes and utter missteps that this Nation ever made, was when we started becoming the Policeman of the World. This happened in World War I, which led to the actions that caused Japan to bomb Pearl Harbor, which lead to World War 2. This happened in Korea, and in Vietnam. It happened in the first gulf war and now in the second Iraq War. My question to my readers is this, when will the United States finally wake up and realize that they need to stop trying to not only rule their own country, but others as well. Until that happens, we will continue to have wars, that have no legal merit.
It is truly a sad commentary on the United States, but it is a true one, unless of course, you are some sort of Pro-War Neo-Conservative shill.
Welcome To Obamaburger. Â May I Take Your Money?

Behind the counter is an Obamaburger employee busily filing her fingernails and who barely looks up as a young man approaches her, bypassing a longer line at another register which does not seem to be moving. “Welcome to Obamaburger. Â May I take your money?” she asks listlessly.
The perplexed customer responds, “Donât you mean take my order?”
Her response, without so much as a look is, “Sir, youâre holding up the line. Â Donât make me call security.”
The customer, looks behind him and notices that he is the only one in this particular line but not wanting to cause a fuss replies hastily, “Geez, ok. Â Uh … letâs see. Â I will have â”
“Sir, I need your Social Security Number first.”
“Excuse me?” the customer asks.
“Your Social Security Number sir. Â Youâre holding up the line again.”
“What line?” Â Now, very confused the customer asks again, “What do you need my Social Security Number for?”
Finally looking up from her “work” the employee gets very testy at the delay and the line of questioning. Â “Thatâs it, Iâm calling security â”
“What? No …” scared at what is going on the customer finally concedes to her demands, “Alright my number is 123-45-6789.”
Sighing at the thought of having to finally do something productive, the lady behind the counter starts punching numbers into her register, “One moment while I pull up your tax return for last year.”
“My tax return? Â What the hell are you doing?”

My friend Ryan sent me this. Normally I do not post things that other people send to me. But in light of recent events that landed in the crosshairs of the left and landed me on Gawker.com. I am publishing this Movie to show those, who might want to kill me or at worse call me names, that I am not some sort of Bush loving, flag waving freak, who thinks anyone that disagrees with me is inherently evil.
This movie is about the town that President George W. Bush basically used as a prop for his Presidential Campaign. You will see a town, that got swept up into the fury of support for George W. Bush and a town flourish because of it. Youâll see a town that became ground zero for an Anti-War and Pro-War movement that almost drove it apart. Finally, you will see a town, that lives in almost ruin, and is possibly divided, all because of the political ambitions and a warped political ideology of President, who is now leaving that town and moving somewhere else.
This movie shows something, something interesting, something frightening, something that only affirms my beliefs that I could never, ever, be a Republican. It shows us that people that fail to think for themselves and allow themselves to be blinded by a flawed Political Ideology are truly shallow and quite frankly, scary people. Further more, it shows how those who mix their Religious beliefs and their Politics are very dangerous people.

That may not be good for the middle class.â But why say heâs going to raise taxes on the middle class when heâs not?
I don’t look for Juan McSame to last much longer, if he keeps this up. Oh Well, that’s what happens when you stiff your own party in favor of a platform of a reformer. Can’t say he doesn’t deserve it though. Thought he’d bring the moose bitch on and everything would be all rosey posey. Think again McSame, the Republican Party and the Conservatives have got your number.
Juan McSame is about as much of a Conservative as I am an atheist. His favor of amnesty is stuff of legend. He’s a Neo-Conservative Globalist, just like King George W.
I knew about the problems that were happening over on Wall Street and in the banking world. I was just unaware of just how bad it is.
It turns out, that it is really bad. I mean, really seriously bad!

The American financial system was shaken to its core on Sunday. Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. said it would file for bankruptcy protection, and Merrill Lynch & Co. agreed to be sold to Bank of America Corp.
The U.S. government, which bailed out Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac a week ago and orchestrated the sale of Bear Stearns Cos. to J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. in March, played much tougher with Lehman. It refused to provide a financial backstop to potential buyers. Without such support, Barclays PLC and Bank of America, the two most interested buyers, walked away. Barclays said Monday it pulled out of the potential deal after deciding it wasn’t in the best interest of shareholders.
Late Sunday night, Lehman said it intends to file for protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code with the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Lehman said none of the broker-dealer subsidiaries or other subsidiaries of LBHI will be included in the Chapter 11 filing and all of the broker-dealers will continue to operate. Customers of Lehman Brothers, including customers of its wholly owned subsidiary, Neuberger Berman Holdings LLC, may continue to trade or take other actions with respect to their accounts, Lehman said.
On Sunday night, Bank of America struck an all-stock deal to buy Merrill Lynch for $29 a share, or $50 billion.
Though it steered clear of a bailout, the Federal Reserve is expected to take new steps to stabilize the broader financial system. These steps, expected to be temporary, would make it easier for banks and securities firms to borrow from the central bank by using a wider range of collateral. Bankers say these financial institutions might need short-term funds as they unwind their many trading positions with Lehman.
While I do not have anything invested on Wall Street, I know people who do, in fact, my parents have stock options in G.M. So, this may just affect them. I will be watching this story all day today. This Blog is mainly politics, but I also Blog about other news stories of interest. Anyhow, this could trigger panic selling everywhere and could trigger a massive crash of the stock market, rivaling the crash of the 1930âs or at least rivaling the mini-crash of the 1980âs.
I do realize that the FDR did put some protection in our bank system to prevent another major crash, as to just good those protections are, we will see I suppose. I do not claim to be a banking nor financial expert. But I can see the panic in the eyes of those men that made that video. So, I expect a horrible day on the stock market.
Of course, our communist liberals, especially the far left with their anti-capitalist mentality, will be cheering this little misfortune. Iâm sure that B. Hussein Obama will be saying stuff like, âThey deserve to be punished, for making the little people suffer!â and âIt was George W. Bushâs fault that the stock market crashed!â
On the other hand, John McCain will most likely make some rather stupid comment and then blame his time as a P.O.W. on his idiotic gaffe. Like he always does. đ
Either way, this story is going to be interesting to follow. Stay tuned.

Itâs the first. And you know who will end up getting screwed: The responsible and the frugal.
True Michelle, But don’t you think that Mr. “Nation of whiners“, has to share some of the blame, because of his lobbying for the deregulation of the housing industry? Which caused all of this in the first place? I think so. What is really known, is the fact that it is going to get a hell of lot worse, before it gets any better. *gulp!*

Could it be? Could this be some sort of attempt to paint this guy as some sort of new Greek god?
Sure seems that way.
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s big speech on Thursday night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple.
The stage, similar to structures used for rock concerts, has been set up at the 50-yard-line, the midpoint of Invesco Field, the stadium where the Denver Broncos’ National Football League team plays.
Some 80,000 supporters will see Obama appear from between plywood columns painted off-white, reminiscent of Washington’s Capitol building or even the White House, to accept the party’s nomination for president.
He will stride out to a raised platform to a podium that can be raised from beneath the floor.
The show should provide a striking image for the millions of Americans watching on television as Obama delivers a speech accepting the Democratic presidential nomination.
This my friends is unbelievable. Is this manâs ego that broad, that he must be painted to be the next Greek god, that will come to save the World from itâs troubles?
Please. This moronic tool is the product of an unconstitutional civil rights act, that was passed in 1964, by a Communist infiltrated congress. Which sought to broaden the Governments powers and to legislate morality in this country. This bill was not signed by a congressman, of whom I have the uttermost respect for, and that was Senator Barry Goldwater Sr.
The truth is that B. Hussein Obama is a Marxist. He has ties to some of the most corrupt in Chicago Illinois. He also has ties to William Ayers who, with his group weather underground committed acts of horrific terrorism upon this Nation and itâs people.
If this Nation elects this Negro man, it would be one worst disasters in this Nations history. I will not be voting for him, I assume that many that read this blog will not be either. Of course, electing John McCain will not be much better, because he is one of the most liberal Republicans out there. John McCain is soft on illegal immigration, John McCainâs Neo-Conservative polices are too close to the imperialistic George W. Bush, but B. Hussein Obama will be the worst disaster in the world, if he elect him.
