One of the benefits of being around a long time is that you get to know a lot about certain things. I’m 80 years old and I’ve been an oilman for almost 60 years. Keith’s subs usually do not usually perform the Worst Person in the World bits. Honestly? That’s right people, Google actually denied me advertising on their “Google Affiliate Network” advertising system.
What happened is, a little while back, I received an e-mail from Google Adsense, letting me know that Google was retiring it’s referral ads program. For an alternative, the e-mail told me that I could sign up for DoubleClick Performics, which I found out, after that I went over to the signup page, that this company had been bought out, by, of course, Google. So, I thought, “Well, I’m already a member of Google Adsense, I’ll just join up here.”. No such luck. I was denied.
An excellent way of controlling their advertising, however, it is total discrimination against me. Because my Blog is a Conservative Blog, I am being denied.

I supposed if I had a blog, that advocated the mindless and wholesale killing of unborn babies, or a Blog that advocated the unproven science of Global Warming, or if I had a website that advocated the promiscuous sex of 14 year old girls. That I would be accepted with no problem at all. However, because my website is against all these things, my site is considered a unacceptable website to Google.
I am seriously considering removing ALL of Google’s ads here. I have to think about it. But I intend to let the world know about this.

But I think that this article here, is about is close as one can come to basically saying that, “Obama is just a stupid liberal n****r”, without actually saying it. Attempting to equate a requirement for service, in return for college funding to slavery is not, I repeat, NOT a smart thing to do, seeing the whole climate of this election.
I mean, not agreeing with someones political policy is one thing, but this is another. I have to wonder, would Goldberg have brought up Slavery, if Obama was a White Man?

Like most working journalists, whenever I type seven letters — Fox News — a series of alarms begins to whoop in my head: Danger. Warning. Much mayhem ahead.
Once the public relations apparatus at Fox News is engaged, there will be the calls to my editors, keening (and sometimes threatening) e-mail messages, and my requests for interviews will quickly turn into depositions about my intent or who else I am talking to.
And if all that stuff doesn’t slow me down and I actually end up writing something, there might be a large hangover: Phone calls full of rebuke for a dependent clause in the third to the last paragraph, a ritual spanking in the blogs with anonymous quotes that sound very familiar, and — if I really hit the jackpot — the specter of my ungainly headshot appearing on one of Fox News’s shows along with some stern copy about what an idiot I am.

At Fox News, media relations is a kind of rolling opposition research operation intended to keep reporters in line by feeding and sometimes maiming them. Shooting the occasional messenger is baked right into the process.
As crude as that sounds, it works. By blacklisting reporters it does not like, planting stories with friendlies at every turn, Fox News has been living a life beyond consequence for years. Honesty compels me to admit that I have choked a few times at the keyboard when Fox News has come up in a story and it was not absolutely critical to the matter at hand.
But it cuts both ways: Fox News’s amazing coup d’état in the cable news war has very likely been undercovered because the organization is such a handful to deal with. Fox is so busy playing defense — mentioning it in the same story as CNN can be a high crime — that its business and journalism accomplishments don’t get traction and the cable station never seems to attain the legitimacy it so clearly craves.
Yikes, sounds like a McCarthy type mentality, if you ask me. I mean, blackballing people? Wow.

ABC News has learned that Sen. John McCain’s campaign has hired Mike DuHaime as political director, the first new hire by Steve Schmidt in his capacity as the person in charge of day-to-day campaign operations.
DuHaime had served as a senior advisor for political operations at the Republican National Commitee since March, but now he will head up the political team from within the McCain operation.
The move comes as the McCain campaign essentially relaunches its general election effort, after weeks of complaints in Republicans circles that McCain, R-Ariz., has been slow to find his footing against Illinois Democrat Sen. Barack Obama.
DuHaime most recently managed the failed presidential campaign of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani. DuHaime brings years of experience, organizing on behalf of Republicans at the state and local level, to the job. Notably, DuHaime served as political director of the Republican National Committee, and as regional political director for the Bush-Cheney re-election campaign in 2004.
I hate to say it, but that was a big time boneheaded move and the Liberals are going to nail him on it, big time.

I posted this, not for some stupid political ploy, not to be clever, but to remind everyone, no matter what your political stripe or conviction or feeling, You are, We are, all Americans. This is our land, and we should, at least once a year, stop and reflect on our freedoms. The freedom to write, the freedom to Pray to whatever God we wish or the freedom to not pray, at all. The freedom to agree, the freedom of dissent or to disagree, the freedom to assemble or simply the freedom to do nothing at all.

In another sharp break with its traditions, the court struck down parts of the District of Columbia’s gun-control law. After seven decades of holding that the Second Amendment’s right to bear arms is tied to raising a militia, the court reversed itself and ruled that it confers on individuals the right to keep guns in their homes for personal use. The decision will no doubt add significantly to the number of Americans killed by gun violence.
Corporations fared especially well in this term. The court reduced the punitive-damages award against Exxon Mobil for the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill from $2.5 billion to about $500 million, a pittance for the energy company. In the process, the court declared that in maritime cases, punitive damages should not exceed the actual damages in a case. I just do not understand it. Why are Liberals so against capitalism in America? Why do they hate people that make a profit? I just do not get that at all.

Note that “significantly”. In 2004, 29,569 people were killed by guns. In 2005, 30,694 were killed, a 3.8 percent increase. According to the natural progression, there should be about 35,633 firearms deaths in 2009 even without the recent supreme court decision; let’s assume that a “significant” increase would be at least twice the expected rate of increase given population growth, to say nothing of the economic downturn and global warming. So, if the prophetic skills of the New York Times is to be trusted, gun fatalities should rise to at least 40,000 in 2009.
My view is that they won’t get anywhere near that level, unless, of course, Obama gets elected and decides to govern in the conventional African manner.
So much for that Liberal lie. I mean, between the lies about Guns and the Anti-Capitalist rhetoric, why does anyone even remotely consider the New York Times a Legitimate news outlet anymore?
I must say, I am not in the least bit surprised about this, at all. I know little or nothing about the other person who was running John McCain’s Campaign before, but quite frankly, he was doing little more than making John McCain look like some sort of a foil or stooge for Barack Obama.
Steve Schmidt is taking over the day-to-day operation of John McCain’s campaign, according to multiple campaign sources.
It is as they say, polls speak louder the words, and up till very recently, John McCain was lagging behind Barack Obama. So, a change was made. Either way, it can only be for the good.
