Washington Post SLAMS Barack Obama on his Iraq plan…

I’d be willing to bet that Barry’s behind is bit sore today…

A stinging Editorial from the Washington Post on Barry’s Iraq Plan:

BARACK OBAMA yesterday accused President Bush and Sen. John McCain of rigidity on Iraq: “They said we couldn’t leave when violence was up, they say we can’t leave when violence is down.” Mr. Obama then confirmed his own foolish consistency. Early last year, when the war was at its peak, the Democratic candidate proposed a timetable for withdrawing all U.S. combat forces in slightly more than a year. Yesterday, with bloodshed at its lowest level since the war began, Mr. Obama endorsed the same plan. After hinting earlier this month that he might “refine” his Iraq strategy after visiting the country and listening to commanders, Mr. Obama appears to have decided that sticking to his arbitrary, 16-month timetable is more important than adjusting to the dramatic changes in Iraq.

Mr. Obama’s charge against the Republicans was not entirely fair, since Mr. Bush has overseen the withdrawal of five American brigades from Iraq this year, and Mr. McCain has suggested that he would bring most of the rest of the troops home by early 2013. Mr. Obama’s timeline would end in the summer of 2010, a year or two before the earliest dates proposed recently by members of the Iraqi government. The real difference between the various plans is not the dates but the conditions: Both the Iraqis and Mr. McCain say the withdrawal would be linked to the ability of Iraqi forces to take over from U.S. troops, as they have begun to do. Mr. Obama’s strategy allows no such linkage — his logic is that a timetable unilaterally dictated from Washington is necessary to force Iraqis to take responsibility for the country.

At the time he first proposed his timetable, Mr. Obama argued — wrongly, as it turned out — that U.S. troops could not stop a sectarian civil war. He conceded that a withdrawal might be accompanied by a “spike” in violence. Now, he describes as “an achievable goal” that “we leave Iraq to a government that is taking responsibility for its future — a government that prevents sectarian conflict and ensures that the al-Qaeda threat which has been beaten back by our troops does not reemerge.” How will that “true success” be achieved? By the same pullout that Mr. Obama proposed when chaos in Iraq appeared to him inevitable.

[…]

“What’s missing in our debate,” Mr. Obama said yesterday, “is a discussion of the strategic consequences of Iraq.” Indeed: The message that the Democrat sends is that he is ultimately indifferent to the war’s outcome — that Iraq “distracts us from every threat we face” and thus must be speedily evacuated regardless of the consequences. That’s an irrational and a historical way to view a country at the strategic center of the Middle East, with some of the world’s largest oil reserves. Whether or not the war was a mistake, Iraq’s future is a vital U.S. security interest. If he is elected president, Mr. Obama sooner or later will have to tailor his Iraq strategy to that reality.

Ouch! That had to hurt. As I pointed out on Monday, Barry’s plan is just more of the same, but ever so slightly modified to somewhat reflect the conditions on the ground. However, what the Washington Post is getting him on, is his continuing insistence that he is pulling us out, no matter if we’re winning or not. I agree, pulling us out of Iraq, irregardless if we went in there on bad information or not, is just bad policy. It shows a lack of personal responsiblity, which is, as I have said repeatedly, what the Democrats and especially the far left are infamous for.

Editorial: The Great disgrace of Detroit — Kwame Kilpatrick

I write this editorial today, not with smugness or with an attitude of haughtiness, But one of sadness and dismay for my beloved city in which I grew up. I sit here tonight at 4:19 A.M. absolutely disgusted by what I read about the Mayor of the City of Detroit.

It seems that Detroit’s Democrat Mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick is involved, in yet, another scandal. This is because Kilpatrick supposedly “pulled strings” to get some Baptist Preacher off some Prostitution Charges.

Local Station WXYZ-TV’s Steve Wilson has the story:

I simply am going to ask this, What in the name of the Almighty God, is it going to take for Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick to resign as Detroit’s Mayor? Will it take dragging his poor mother through the mud? Will it take the State of Michigan to file charges against this man and him possibly him ending up in jail, and ruining his family?

How is it that a man, who seems to believe that he is on some sort of Messianic mission to be the Mayor of the City of Detroit, can simply be deluded enough in his own mind to believe that he is above the law? Christians are no more above the law, than anyone else in this wonderful Country of ours. The very idea that the Mayor of the City Detroit knowingly lied under oath to protect himself and his female lover for a lawsuit speaks to the very core of the Kilpatrick’s soul. In that soul, I see not a man who has been changed by Christ, but rather a dark soul, who will do anything to avoid being held accountable for his actions.

Yet, when the very citizens of the city that Kilpatrick was sworn to serve, attempt to hold Kilpatrick accountable. People like the local Detroit media, the first that that this liberal thug likes to play is, of course, the race card.

“I have never been called…. A nigger”

They were the words that sent shockwaves around this city. An African-American Democrat Mayor, who just months previous to this had marched with the N.A.A.C.P. to ceremonially bury the N-Word forever was now lashing out at those who dared to question him about his conduct, while in office.

What started out as a local story, has now evolved, into national disgrace, a disgrace to the Democrat Party; of which Presidential hopeful Barack Obama was not seen with, at all, for fear it would hurt his campaign. A disgrace to all of the African-America leaders who gave their lives, got their heads beaten in, all so some Mayor could act like he was above the law.

However, is not that what Socialism is, an attitude of entitlement? You must give me this, because I am black? It is certainly, what the Democrat Party promotes in their ideology.

It is anyone’s guess how this will all play out. If Kilpatrick had any semblance of common sense; which seems to be in short supply within the Democrat Party these days, (just look who is running for President), Kilpatrick would resign and give the City of Detroit it’s sense of dignity back.

However, I know that will not happen. Because in Kilpatrick’s mind, Jesus put him in that position and only Jesus will get him out.

That, my friends, is the disgrace of Detroit.

The Truth about ANWR

(H/T and Thanks to Senate Conservatives)

Tell everyone you know about this video. It is important that everyone know, how the Democrats are lying about ANWR.

Now this, I don’t get at all…

(H/T to Think Progress)

Via The Washington Post:

Republicans were not alone in that response. Michael E. O’Hanlon, a Democratic defense analyst at the Brookings Institution who has been an outspoken supporter of the war in Iraq, said he could not believe that Obama would put such a definitive timeline into print before a trip to Iraq, where he is to consult with Iraqi leaders and U.S. commanders.

“To say you’re going to get out on a certain schedule — regardless of what the Iraqis do, regardless of what our enemies do, regardless of what is happening on the ground — is the height of absurdity,” said O’Hanlon, who described himself as “livid.” “I’m not going to go to the next level of invective and say he shouldn’t be president. I’ll leave that to someone else.”

The reason I don’t get it is, because what Obama wrote in that Op-Ed piece was basically his primary stump speech with some very minor refinements to it. So, why anyone on the Democrat side would be “Livid” about it, as they this guy put it, is well beyond me. In other words, Obama did not say anything different, than he did in the primary, he just updated it to reflect current events.

Now his point about Obama going to Iraq, I can see that point. But for him to become upset about what was written, I don’t get that, at all.

Hope, Change, Flip Flop, Edit Website!

When the message is not fitting the current events, what do you do? Edit your website.

The New York Daily News reports:

Barack Obama’s campaign scrubbed his presidential Web site over the weekend to remove criticism of the U.S. troop “surge” in Iraq, the Daily News has learned.

The presumed Democratic nominee replaced his Iraq issue Web page, which had described the surge as a “problem” that had barely reduced violence.

“The surge is not working,” Obama’s old plan stated, citing a lack of Iraqi political cooperation but crediting Sunni sheiks – not U.S. military muscle – for quelling violence in Anbar Province.

The News reported Sunday that insurgent attacks have fallen to the fewest since March 2004.

Obama’s campaign posted a new Iraq plan Sunday night, which cites an “improved security situation” paid for with the blood of U.S. troops since the surge began in February 2007.

It praises G.I.s’ “hard work, improved counterinsurgency tactics and enormous sacrifice.”

Campaign aide Wendy Morigi said Obama is “not softening his criticism of the surge. We regularly update the Web site to reflect changes in current events.”

GOP rival John McCain zinged Obama as a flip-flopper. “The major point here is that Sen. Obama refuses to acknowledge that he was wrong,” said McCain, adding that Obama “refuses to acknowledge that it [the surge] is succeeding.”

B. Hussein Obama, Website Editor in chief. I love it! 😆 😛 😀 😉

However, the left would just say, what about all the times that the George W. Bush Administration changed their message, as the Iraq dissolved into chaos in 2004? How many times did they change their reasoning for even being there?

Of course, the Republican Neo-Cons are wetting themselves over this, and I’ll put the various ones in down at the end.

The way I see it, he’s coming towards the center, instead of pandering to the hard left, which is what he did in the primary, which is what the Congress did in the 2006 election. I’m personally glad to see that he’s trying to prove himself not to be another Dennis Kucinich, but rather a more moderate progressive, who is more pragmatic, than idealistic. This could very well help him in the general election. I think.

Barry’s Plan in the New York Times, just more of the stump speech

It seems that B. Hussein Obama wrote a Op-Ed Piece in the New York Times.

I won’t bother quoting any of it. Why? Because it is basically the same old muddled stump speech that he gave in the damn primary. It’s short of specifics, short on details, and basically is the same old mantra of Hope, Change and get out of Iraq.

If Barry hopes to have any sort of a prayer in hell of getting elected to the office President of the United States, He had better get more specific, as to how exactly he plans on getting us out of Iraq, without that country falling into utter chaos.

His little stump speech is based upon the conditions on the ground in 2006, and NOT 2008. If he has any plan on getting elected, he had better update his damn teleprompter or he might just be getting him a job as the White House shoeshine boy, for John McCain.

Local News: Give me Hope and Change or I’ll take your stuff!

I guess that the Obamassiah’s message of hope and change isn’t moving fast enough for the locals here in Detroit.

Quote:

A temporary office in Detroit being used by the campaign of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has been burglarized.

Michigan campaign spokesman Brent Colburn says personal electronics, including some mobile phones and a laptop, were taken early Saturday. But Colburn says they didn’t contain campaign information.

Colburn says it’s believed the burglary was random, since an adjacent office also was burglarized.

An estimated value of the items taken wasn’t immediately available.- Obama campaign office in Detroit burglarized (Via The Detroit News)

I just wonder what the socialist commie will do about this one? If he’ll call out a blitzkrieg or just order random house to house searches?

It is to wonder. 😀

Ron Paul Revolution took place today….

Jonn Lilyea over at This ain’t hell has pictures and the Story. Although, I will confess, I am not happy about the way it was written. I understand fully where those people are coming from. Ron Paul stands for the old Paleo-Conservativism of the Ronald Reagan era. It is truly a pity that his ideals were rejected by a Zionist, Neo-Conservative, war-mongering Republican Party.

I commend the people that braved the heat, high gas prices and Washington D.C. In general to come out and march on Washington D.C. I assure them all, even though I wasn’t there in the flesh, I was there in Spirit.

More Coverage available over at Little Green Footballs and BLACKFIVE, although it’s mainly to mock the people. That’s the Republican Party of today though.

Barack Obama, Pussy in Chief?

It seems that way….

Quote:

A coalition of military groups is planning a nationally televised town-hall-style meeting with the presidential candidates near Fort Hood, Tex., the largest active-duty military installation in the country. But so far, only Senator John McCain of Arizona, the presumptive Republican nominee, has agreed to attend.

CBS has agreed to broadcast the meeting live from 9 to 11 p.m. Eastern time on Monday, Aug. 11. The candidates would face questions directly from an audience of 6,000 people, made up of veterans, service members and military families from the base.

Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, the presumptive Democratic nominee, has not agreed to participate.

“Senator Obama strongly supports America’s veterans and military families and has worked hard on their behalf in the Senate,” said Phillip Carter, director of Mr. Obama’s veterans effort and an Iraq war veteran. “While we unfortunately had a previously scheduled commitment on the date proposed, Senator Obama looks forward to continuing the dialogue he’s been having throughout the country with veterans on how we can better serve our men and women in uniform as they serve us.”Obama Won’t Commit to Event at Military Base – NYTimes.com

The way I see it, If B. Hussein Obama does not have to guts to appear before a crowd of Military men. He’s nothing more than a cowardly communist sissy liberal. He claims that he does not want to use the Military to make a cheap political point. I got news for you, Barry’s whole fucking campaign has been one BIG fucking political point!

Just further proof that without teleprompter, he nothing more than a empty suit, sleazeball, NEGRO Chicago Politician. (yeah, that’s right, I called him what he IS, a NEGRO!)

Newsweek Polls: Obama’s lead sinks….

(H/T to Capt. Ed.)

It seems that the glow of Obama, amongst the Independents, has grown quite dim.

Via NewsWeek:

A month after emerging victorious from the bruising Democratic nominating contest, some of Barack Obama’s glow may be fading. In the latest NEWSWEEK Poll, the Illinois senator leads Republican nominee John McCain by just 3 percentage points, 44 percent to 41 percent. The statistical dead heat is a marked change from last month’s NEWSWEEK Poll, where Obama led McCain by 15 points, 51 percent to 36 percent.

Obama’s rapid drop comes at a strategically challenging moment for the Democratic candidate. Having vanquished Hillary Clinton in early June, Obama quickly went about repositioning himself for a general-election audience–an unpleasant task for any nominee emerging from the pander-heavy primary contests and particularly for a candidate who’d slogged through a vigorous primary challenge in most every contest from January until June. Obama’s reversal on FISA legislation, his support of faith-based initiatives and his decision to opt out of the campaign public-financing system left him open to charges he was a flip-flopper. In the new poll, 53 percent of voters (and 50 percent of former Hillary Clinton supporters) believe that Obama has changed his position on key issues in order to gain political advantage.

More seriously, some Obama supporters worry that the spectacle of their candidate eagerly embracing his old rival, Hillary Clinton, and traveling the country courting big donors at lavish fund-raisers, may have done lasting damage to his image as an arbiter of a new kind of politics. This is a major concern since Obama’s outsider credentials, have, in the past, played a large part in his appeal to moderate, swing voters. In the new poll, McCain leads Obama among independents 41 percent to 34 percent, with 25 percent favoring neither candidate. In June’s NEWSWEEK Poll, Obama bested McCain among independent voters, 48 percent to 36 percent.

I know what caused all of this. Some say it was his “Lurch” to the center. I disagree. I believe it was caused by his enormous pander to the far left during the primary. He went to the front of the pack, because he told his base, that he intended to end the war in Iraq, “I don’t care what those generals say!”, is essentially what he told people. Barry essentially did in the primary, what the members of congress did in 2006. Lied like dogs, then got elected and proceeded to do absolutely NONE of the things that they promised their base that they would do. Which is, I think, Politics 101 anymore. 😀

But seeing that conditions in Iraq have improved and he also wanted to attract people, like me; who tend to hang around the center, on some issues, (Not all!) like getting out of Iraq in a responsible manner. What happened was, Obama tried, but failed miserably to subtly change his message.

Why did Obama fail? Well, because you have people like Ariana Huffington who can sniff out a right winger a mile away, that’s why! 😆 After all, she was married to one. 😀 Also, you have Conservative, Libertarian and Constitutionalist Bloggers, like myself, who take some sort of a perverse joy out of pointing out every little screw up, flip flop and outright lie which Obama tells, that happens to cross the media and a few, that the media either give him a pass on or they completely miss.

Between the two, ol’ Barry just can’t catch a break. 😛

Interestingly enough, I really do believe that majority of the Nation, except for the part of the country that reads, and own Blogs, like myself, and maybe the Political junkies, will hardly notice any of this stuff come November, they will think, “Republican = Bush” and pull the lever for a Democrat, and as much as I hate to say it. Obama will win, because what can John McCain say, to counter Obama’s message of hope and change? Not a damn thing.

Best thing that ol’ Juan McSame can come up with is that idiot phrase of “That’s not change we can believe in” and a silly laugh that made him sound like a mental patient, and making Political Ads that basically give the finger to the Anti-Illegal Immigration crowd. Which, by the way, is about 75% of his base.

The bottom line is: Obama took a dip, but I don’t expect it to affect him much in the long run.

Why do “so-called” Christian people do stupid stuff like this?

Egad. I sleep late one day and all sorts of silliness breaks out. 🙄

Bill Donohue has released the hounds against a blogger. He’s an Atheist. He wrote a rather “smart mouthed” post on his science Blog. Well, Donohue didn’t like it and issued an call to arms towards this guy to get him fired.  Well, now, the blogger, PZ Myers, is appealing for help.

Okay, first of all, in case Mr. Donohue has forgotten, there is a thing in this country called freedom of speech, this is not Nazi Germany, nor Russia, But the United States of America, free speech is a right, given to us, by the First Amendment of the Construction of the United States of America.

The very idea, that a man, who supposedly represents the largest “so called”  religious organization in the World, would attempt to repress free speech in America, is absolutely reprehensible.

In fact, here is the contact information at the Catholic League:

450 Seventh Avenue
New York, NY 10123
(212) 371-3191
Fax: (212) 371-3394

and here is the contact information of the archdiocese in New York, call them and file a complaint against Bill and his League:

Cardinal’s Office

1011 First Ave

New York, NY  10022

Contact: Edward Cardinal Egan

Phone: 212-371-1000

This isn’t about Religion, this is about the repression of free speech, religious organizations have NO RIGHT to control ANY sort of free speech at all.

By the way, here’s Bill Donohue’s new mug shot:

“We really cannot replace Iran’s production – it’s not feasible to replace it,” Abdalla Salem El-Badri, the OPEC secretary general, said during an interview.

Iran, the second-largest producing country in OPEC, after Saudi Arabia, produces about 4 million barrels of oil a day out of the daily worldwide production of close to 87 million barrels. The country has been locked in a lengthy dispute with Western countries over its nuclear ambitions.

In recent weeks, the price of oil has risen higher on speculation that Israel could be preparing to attack Iranian nuclear facilities. The saber-rattling intensified this week with missile tests by Iran. That has further shaken oil markets because of concerns that any conflict with Iran could disrupt oil shipments from the Gulf region.

“The prices would go unlimited,” Badri said during the interview, referring to the effect of a military conflict. “I can’t give you a number.”

I highly recommend that everyone, of all political stripes go read this article. This is why we cannot go to war with Iran. Not because of our Military, but rather because it would kill us, even worse than it is now, at the gas pump.

We just cannot afford, I cannot afford, the Nation cannot afford another war with another country.

Uh Oh….. Jesse Done stepped in it!

D’oh!

Jesse Jackson just went in stepped into the doo doo…

He basically said he thought Obama was cutting his own (part of the male reproductive organ) off. By giving talks about morals. Yeah, He’d know, considering he had an affair and fathered a child, out of wedlock.

The Video:

Jesse Jackson issued this Statement:

“For any harm or hurt that this hot mic private conversation may have caused, I apologize,” Jackson said in a statement issued to CNN. “My support for Senator Obama’s campaign is wide, deep and unequivocal. I cherish this redemptive and historical moment.”

“My appeal was for the moral content of his message to not only deal with the personal and moral responsibility of black males, but to deal with the collective moral responsibility of government and the public policy which would be a corrective action for the lack of good choices that often led to their irresponsibility,” Jackson also said.

“That was the context of my private conversation and it does not reflect any disparagement on my part for the historic event in which we are involved or my pride in Senator Barack Obama, who is leading it, whom I have supported by crisscrossing this nation in every level of media and audience from the beginning in absolute terms.”

Uh-huh, you’re just sorry you got caught.

His own son is quite perturbed:

I’m deeply outraged and disappointed in Reverend Jackson’s reckless statements about Senator Barack Obama. His divisive and demeaning comments about the presumptive Democratic nominee — and I believe the next president of the United States — contradict his inspiring and courageous career. Instead of tearing others down, Barack Obama wants to build the country up and bring people together so that we can move forward, together — as one nation. The remarks like those uttered on Fox by Revered Jackson do not advance the campaign’s cause of building a more perfect Union. Revered Jackson is my dad and I’ll always love him. He should know how hard that I’ve worked for the last year and a half as a national co-chair of Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. So, I thoroughly reject and repudiate his ugly rhetoric. He should keep hope alive and any personal attacks and insults to himself. – Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-IL)

Wow…Just Wow…. The jokes just keep writing themselves.

But like Malkin said, It’s always we meanie Conservatives that make the horrible statements about Barry.

Jim Webb says no offically to a V.P. Spot

Via Memeorandum:

MSNBC reports that Jim Webb is saying no to being Obama’s V.P.

“Last week I communicated to Senator Obama and his presidential campaign my firm intention to remain in the United States Senate, where I believe I am best equipped to serve the people of Virginia and this country. Under no circumstances will I be a candidate for Vice President.

“A year and a half ago, the people of Virginia honored me with election to the U.S. Senate. I entered elective politics because of my commitment to strengthen America’s national security posture, to promote economic fairness, and to increase government accountability. I have worked hard to deliver upon that commitment, and I am convinced that my efforts and talents toward those ends are best served in the Senate.

“In this regard, the bipartisan legislative template we were able to put into effect through 18 months of work in order to enact the new, landmark GI Bill will serve as a prototype for my future endeavors in government. This process, wherein we brought 58 Senators from both parties to the table as co-sponsors, along with more than 300 members of the House, gives me renewed confidence that the Congress can indeed work effectively across party lines and address the concerns of our citizens.

“At this time I am also renewing my commitment to work hard to make sure that Senator Obama wins both Virginia and the presidency this November. He is a man who speaks eloquently about our national goals and calls for the practical solutions that must be put into place to obtain them. I will proudly campaign for him.”

Word is that the Democrat card readers are saying that Joe Biden is in the running. Of course, that is strictly rumor.

It’s about time Bozell!

Well, it’s about time!

CNSNews.com will launch its new Web site on Tuesday, July 8, with a fresh look, more stories, videos, photos, and reader comments. Check out the new www.cnsnews.com on Tuesday, July 8.- CNSNews.com Launches New Web Site on Tuesday, July 8 — 07/04/2008

I’ve always said that Brent Bozell needed to update that 1990’s era website of theirs. Hopefully, it will rival Media Matters for America’s site, embeddable video clips, nice banners or buttons for Blogs. It has to be totally web 2.0 friendly. Now if they could just get the MRC site updated too, they’d be in good shape.

I can’t wait to see it.

He might be a crook, but he’s a PATRIOTIC one!

(via instapundit)

Hmmmmm… I wonder if this one will show up in the New York Times? I highly doubt it. 🙄

Via The New York Post:

He’s a criminal, but he “did the right thing” when it mattered – alerting cops to what he feared was a terror plot the day before the Fourth of July.

At about 5 p.m. yesterday, an unidentified thief with a police record broke into a red van that had been parked at 53rd Street and Second Avenue in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park for about a month, a source told The Post.

He was stunned when he looked inside – it was filled with gas cans and Styrofoam cups containing a mysterious white substance with protruding wires and switches.

Stealing vans in one thing, but blowing up part of the damn city is another. Kudo’s to the guy for doing the right thing.

I just wonder how many Democrats will deny this even happened, because it is a New York Post story and dismiss it as Rupert Murdock produced pro-war Propaganda?

Afghanistan officials claim US air strikes killed civilians

You know, I’m just going to say it….

Quote:

Afghan officials said fighter aircraft battling militants accidentally killed up to 27 Afghans walking to a wedding ceremony in eastern Afghanistan early Sunday, the second military attack in three days with reports of civilian deaths — Afghan officials: US missiles killed 27 civilians – Yahoo! News

Two Words….

Tough shit
.

Why would I say that? I’ll tell you why. The way I see it, if your country knowingly harbors a terrorist leader and his group of thugs, that was responsible for killing 2,974 of our people. Then I say if some of your people, who happened to be in the area, when our forces happen to be taking out a group of terrorists. That’s just too damn bad.

Does that make me a chicken hawk? Hell No. What that makes me is someone who supports our Military, it makes me a Nationalist, who loves America and happens to believe in the doctrine of “what comes around, goes around” and of “If you play with mud, you’re gonna get dirty”.

Some of us, have not forgotten, at all, what happened in New York, and at the Pentegon on 9/11.
