One of the sad side effects of 9/11 and War, Military Crimes

This is one of the saddest things that you would ever want to read.

Via the Washington Post:

AT JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, WASH. The U.S. soldiers hatched a plan as simple as it was savage: to randomly target and kill an Afghan civilian, and to get away with it.

For weeks, according to Army charging documents, rogue members of a platoon from the 5th Stryker Combat Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, floated the idea. Then, one day last winter, a solitary Afghan man approached them in the village of La Mohammed Kalay. The “kill team” activated the plan.

One soldier created a ruse that they were under attack, tossing a fragmentary grenade on the ground. Then others opened fire.

According to charging documents, the unprovoked, fatal attack on Jan. 15 was the start of a months-long shooting spree against Afghan civilians that resulted in some of the grisliest allegations against American soldiers since the U.S. invasion in 2001. Members of the platoon have been charged with dismembering and photographing corpses, as well as hoarding a skull and other human bones.

The subsequent investigation has raised accusations about whether the military ignored warnings that the out-of-control soldiers were committing atrocities. The father of one soldier said he repeatedly tried to alert the Army after his son told him about the first killing, only to be rebuffed.

Two more slayings would follow. Military documents allege that five members of the unit staged a total of three murders in Kandahar province between January and May. Seven other soldiers have been charged with crimes related to the case, including hashish use, attempts to impede the investigation and a retaliatory gang assault on a private who blew the whistle.

Army officials have not disclosed a motive for the killings and macabre behavior. Nor have they explained how the attacks could have persisted without attracting scrutiny. They declined to comment on the case beyond the charges that have been filed, citing the ongoing investigation.

But a review of military court documents and interviews with people familiar with the investigation suggest the killings were committed essentially for sport by soldiers who had a fondness for hashish and alcohol.

The accused soldiers, through attorneys and family members, deny wrongdoing. But the case has already been marked by a cycle of accusations and counter-accusations among the defendants as they seek to pin the blame on each other, according to documents and interviews.

The Army has scheduled pre-trial hearings in the case this fall at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, home of the Stryker brigade. (The unit was renamed the 2nd Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, when it returned from Afghanistan in July.) Military officials say privately that they worry the hearings will draw further attention to the case, with photos and other evidence prompting anger among the Afghan civilians whose support is critical to the fight against the Taliban.

This article is a seriously interesting read; so I will ask you, please head on over at read the rest of it.

Now, if I were a committed Neo-Conservative; like many of the Bloggers on the right, I would say something to the effect of, “Oh, this is just liberal, anti-war propaganda!”  If I were a committed Paleo-Conservative, I would say something to the effect of, “See?  This is what happens when you go to war!  See?  See?  See?

Fortunately, I am not committed to either of those positions really.

One of the worst assumptions, that a person can make about the Military, is that every person that volunteers for service; is going to be an honest, upstanding person.  There are people out there, which are just hell bent on breaking rules.  Only difference is, these people were wearing our Military uniforms when doing so.  Could this crime cause problems for us down the road?  Maybe.  There could be blowback later on.  I hope that not — but it does happen.

I do not claim to know the motives for this crime; all I can really do is speculate.  One could blame the euphoria after 9/11; one could blame the kids for their desire to kill people.  All of that really does not matter; all that matters now is, that there are dead afghans, who really had nothing to do with 9/11, and officers from our Military killed them, for sport.  That is a real problem, when it comes to trying to get Afghans to trust us, so that we can make gains with Taliban and ultimately kill or capture the members of Al-Qaeda.

War is a game, a game of strategy; like chess.  The problem is the pieces of that game are real human lives on the line.  The bad part is this, these idiots, in their moronic desire to kill —- just kicked the damn chess game over.  Now, the Military leaders have to upright the game, and hopefully no pieces — or lives — get lost in the process.  It is a job and a responsibility that can make even the most steel-nerved person into a bumbling, pill-popping wreck.  Another thing is this is not 24 hours news cycle, news sound bite, work.  It is long, tedious work, and it can wear the strongest of them down quick.

My thoughts and prayers go out to those who are involved in this situation, at all levels. My Prayers go out to the Soldiers who are in the Afghan Theater fighting what the liberals used to call, “The good war.” God be with them.

Stupidity from the Moderation queue

Yet more stupidity from my moderation cue. This installment is from some jackwad tool, that obviously does not read the rules of the road around here; when it comes to commenting:

Once again, a writer trots out the Leftie, non-think, smear ’em with trivia and avoid the actual issues, tactic, and pretends to be “<em>siding with proper reason</em>”.  What flatulence.

How about examining her <strong>campaign</strong> arguments?

Doing so might show you possess a modicum of intelligence over that of some Grade Nine kid who doesn’t like his teacher.  Maybe this <a href=”http://www.pjtv.com/?cmd=mpg&amp;mpid=174&amp;load=3949″ title=”” rel=”nofollow”>short interview</a>, will help.  In it alone she shows more economic understanding than the most elected officials in Washington!

It would be much better if she matched tax reduction with spending reductions, but no federal government got far with that idea.  We should hope the TEA Party candidates get enough support to actually try.

Apparently this guy seems to have a reading comprehension problem. As it says on my rules page:

Here is my reason for not allowing you to insult me. This is my place, I paid money to register my domain. I also pay a meager fee for the hosting.  This blog is my intellectual property. This is my spot in the political Blogosphere, and you are here as my house guest. You would not walk into my literal house and insult me, act like an idiot or anything like that, would you? So, why should I allow you to act like a moronic idiot in my virtual house?

The rules are plain; don’t come here and insult me like an asshole, and expect me to print your comment. It is just that simple. My Blog, My Rules, don’t like them; start your own damned blog.

Besides, this jack wad is in Canada! CANADA?!?!?! Does this dude have any clue how I feel about Canada?

He went on and on about how I don’t believe in freedom of speech. Last time I checked this is not a public website. It’s privately owned and I can pick and choose what I wish to allow in my comment sections; and I choose not to allow people to insult me. Sorry, way it is around here.

Now, where’s my dog picture at?

Ah, here it is!

Quote of the Day

Eight years ago Pat Buchanan and I founded The American Conservative, an American national biweekly whose purpose was to expose what nation-building does to those stupid enough to want to build. It was my idea and I put up the money, Pat lent his name recognition, and a third person, Scott McConnell, was named editor by me. The first cover’s headline was “How Victory Could Spell American Defeat.”  This was six months before the invasion of Iraq, and Buchanan got it spot on when he wrote that we would be there for at least five to ten years and that the war would cost hundreds of billions.

We all know the rest. There was no “slam dunk.” It’s $750 billion and counting, 4,500 American dead and 35,000 wounded, 100,000 to 300,000 Iraqi dead, 2 million in exile, and uncounted lives wrecked. And there’s no end in sight. Iraq is split in three between Sunnis, Shiites, and Kurds, there is no freedom except for those with the gun, and an oil rich area has failed to provide even reliable electricity. Yet Bush and Blair have declared they would do it all over again, that it’s a victory over tyranny etc, etc, etc. Iraq is lawless and swarming with terrorists, yet the real architects of the war, the neo-cons, have managed to whitewash their part in Uncle Sam’s greatest foreign policy disaster ever. And made it look easy. The whitewash, that is.

Here are a few of the bad guys: Daniel Pipes, Elliot Abrams, Douglas Feith, Bill Kristol, Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz, Norman and John Podhoretz, the Kagan brothers, Dick Cheney, and, of course, the Bobsy twins, Bush and Blair. None of the above are stupid or unread men except for John – four pizzas – Podhoretz. George W Bush sounds dumb but is not. Kristol is a tiny, ugly, rat of a man who always backs the wrong horse, but very clever. Perle, Wolfowitz, Feith, Pipes and Abrams are ardent Zionists. Cheney was in it for business reasons. Yet despite their smarts none of the above listened to what history had to say. They ignored what happened to the French in Algeria, to the British in Aden and Palestine, to the Russians in Afghanistan and the Americans in Somalia. My magazine cost me millions and I thought it was worth it at the time, but I didn’t take into account the ability of rats to abandon a sinking ship. After the disaster became obvious no one was held to account, however loudly we protested for the guilty to pay some sort of price. Just look at Blair. He got rich and even sits in on Israeli-Palestinian peace talks. The neo-cons played everyone like the proverbial fiddle. They accused the critics of the war to be anti-Semitic, because – now get this – neo-con was a code word for Jew. Although most of the neo-cons were Jewish, we knew enough to differentiate between Judaism and Zionism, the latter being the reason the neo-cons wanted non-stop war. The debate on anti-Semitism that ensued was the emergency button the neo-cons pushed the moment the war turned ugly and they decided to slither out of their responsibilities.

Editorial: Withdrawing support of Christine O’Donnell

I do truly regret having to write this sort of a concession article — However, because I am one that likes to side with proper reason, and not with extremism and gender entitlement, I have feel that if I do not write this, I would be committing the ultimate sin to my readers.  That sin being dishonesty.

When Christine O’Donnell burst onto the election scene, I was quite pleased.  The idea if unseating one of the most liberal Republicans in the senate was a great idea. I initially supported Miss. O’Donnell and, like many others,  blasted one of her establishment critics who dared to badmouth her in the media.  I even tried to defend her imperfect record. However, as time went by, I began to see that something was just not quite right about this woman.

So, today I sit here, at this laptop; in sackcloth and ashes, so to speak — and I am writing my concession article of support for the Delaware candidate for Senate for the Republican Party; Miss. Christine O’Donnell.  First, it appears that more damning evidence of strange behavior has become known about Miss. O’Donnell.  Video of her admitting to dabbling in witchcraft has come light. Second, Miss. Christine O’Donnell has committed one of the worse sins of anyone who has any ambition of being involved in any sort of politics. That sin that is of the unpardonable order is to skip out on the Sunday political programs on CBS, and Fox News.

Already other bloggers are making the same conclusion as I; that she was not properly vetted and that now, the Republican Party has a big, big mess on its hands.

To my readers, I offer my most humble apologies.  I usually do not weigh in on regional races or even State races, because it is easy to be caught into the euphoria of a candidate’s race, before you all of the facts about that said person. I readily admit to doing that and for that, my dear readers, I do humbly apologize to all of you.  I foolishly allowed emotions and my bitter hatred of the Neo-Conservative faction of the Republican Party get the best of me.  Because of this, I lost all objectivity in my writing and opinion on this blog.  I cannot promise you that it will not happen again; but I will try like bloody hell for it not to happen again.

To Karl Rove, whom I blasted for being unfair to O’Donnell — you were right sir — you were just doing your job.  It was I, the uninformed oaf, which became, by choice, a “Carnival Barker” for some dishonest, psychotic, amateur political hack, who pawned herself off as the next Sarah Palin and by the power of proxy, the next big thing in the GOP.  Yes, I fell for that little ridiculous lie and now I am looking like quite the chump now.

Honestly, what was I thinking?

The best thing right now that Christine O’Donnell can do is stop her fraudulent joke of a political campaign, refund everyone’s money, and remand herself to the damned dustbin of political folklore, before she damages herself even further than she has now.  Because, as far as this writer is concerned, this feckless woman has done the ultimate bonehead stunt of the century.  Christine O’Donnell has successfully gotten herself nominated by the Republican Party without background checks, without proper vetting and his proceeded to play every damned blogger, woman, and supporter of her campaign for a goddamned fool.  The sick and sad part is; that the Conservative grassroots are so damned desperate for something new, something fresh, something real — that we would allow ourselves to be played like a two-dollar fiddle and that we were, and it disgusts me to my damn core.

I believe I might speak for the good part of the Blogosphere on our side as well as many in the grassroots —- may this sort of idiotic nonsense never, ever, happen again.

That is my opinion and I do welcome yours.

Jeff Goldstein is being attacked by some moronic far-leftist, Again

Not that he does not have experience with this; but some douche nozzle is giving Jeff Goldstein the business…..again.

See here

Here’s the douche-nozzle’s posting here

The real evidence of douche-nozzlery is this:

I pity him, really. But more so, I pity his university and his students. His hard-left hatred for all things “conservative” (which evidently extends to my classical liberalism) has this poor wretch up at nights trolling my blog under multiple names and multiple IP addresses, playing multiple parts in a blog drama of his own creation. It has him feverishly researching Colorado legal statutes, looking for ways to pretend he’ll bring me up on felony libel charges. It has him pretending to be his own girlfriend — or some concerned passerby — who happens (somehow) to know the history of William Yelverton, and his dealings with me over the course of several months (during which time, incidentally, his own blog got maybe 3 comments from people not responding to his douchebaggery on protein wisdom).

You see this stuff that I underlined and colored red? I know all about that, and this is why that I also keep my moderation on around here. Because quite frankly, I just do not need the hassle of some unhinged idiot doing stuff like this. It is just not worth the hassle. I set down the perimeters in which one can operate here; and if you go outside them, I simply delete your tripe. Just that simple, saves me a whole hell of a bunch of trouble.

So, if you spare a dime or two; hit Jeff’s tip jar, and if you feel really froggy, hit Jeff once too for me; right in the nuts. (I kid of course… 😛 ) Because the guy could use it; especially if he has defend himself from this far leftist jack wad.

I do not mean to beat this damned horse to death; but do you now see why I just will NOT vote for the party that represents these idiots anymore?

For what it is worth; I have experience with these jackwads myself. Some tampon wearing shrieking harpy by the name of Mary Scott O’Conner pulled the same shit with me. Except it was not court; it was one or two of my advertisers. All Because I dared to take my disgust of then Senator and President candidate, B. Hussein Obama to another whole level. This during the whole “Hosanna phase” of the 2008 election cycle. It was not pretty, I kind of now, wish I had not went there. However, I was a bit pissed off.

For those that wonder:

I thought you hated Jeff Goldstein?

No, No… I do not hate the man at all. His writing tends to annoy me; this is why I do not read his blog often. The man is a novelist and as a consequence; he blogs like a damned novelist. The problem with Goldstein is that he takes 1200 god-damned words to write something that would take me 400 or less. My thing is, when writing, is get to the god-damned point. Don’t waste my fucking time writing overly prissy sounding nonsense, that nobody gives two shits about; state your damned case, get the point, and cut the overly stupid shit. Not only that, but he writes in that overly educated, Victorian style of writing; which is nice when reading a novel, but when you are trying to read about politics, it tends to get a bit old.

There, now you know my gripe with the Golden Boy Goldstein. Nothing big, just differences in style.  His style is educated, affluent sounding stuff, that you would find at Harvard.  I’m the type of writer that you would maybe find at the local barber shop, a car service garage, pool hall or even in your local bar. (Think Norm from Cheers..)

Having said all of that; head on over and toss a buck or two in his can and tell him that you are on his side. The guy could use it, I am sure.

That is all…

BILL MAHER, HOST: Isn’t Obama’s big problem is that he does everything half-assed? Maybe it’s because he’s only half black. You know? It’s that, if he was a, if this, if he was fully black, I’m telling you, he would be a better president. There’s a white man in him holding him back because everything is half-assed. The stimulus was half-assed, healthcare is half-assed, let’s talk about Afghanistan.

I brought this subject up to Al Sharpton on twitter:

twittersharpton1

twittersharpton2

twittersharpton3

So, there, Al Sharpton cannot say that he never was told about it; he was, by me. I do not expect anything to become of this; but I can at least say that he was informed via twitter by me. If Al Sharpton Replies, I will post the twitter reply here. One could also post this under the heading of, “Can you imagine the stink that would ensue, if a Conservative, like Ann Coulter, or Sean Hannity or anyone else on the right had said something like this?” You all know what would go down. Anyone remember Don Imus?

The point is here; that Bill Maher will get a free pass on this; because he is a part of the liberal elite. It sucks, but that is the double standard in this Country. For what it is worth; his excuse or justification is that he is a comedian. Well, I know comedy; and that crap just is not funny at all. I am sure Jon Steward would agree with that; being a minority himself, joking about something like this, is just not funny.

Not that it really matters; but I was just looking at Bill Maher’s bio on Wikipedia. I noticed his ethnic background; if he skates on this one — that will explain quite a bit. One cannot very well chap someone for kicking around a black man, if he is also a protected minority too, right? right? I’m just saying

Political Byline Remembers: Jimi Hendrix

40 years ago today; one of the greatest guitar players to ever grace the face of this earth, slipped across the divide and slipped the sundry bounds of this earth, and touched the face of God.

I am referring of course, to James Marshall Hendrix.

The Montreal Gazette Remembers:

Jimi_Hendrix_1967[1]When Jimi Hendrix took that fatal overdose 40 years ago today, rock star deaths were still shocking. A high school friend broke the news to me as we rushed to homeroom, but I had almost no frame of reference for such loss. I wasn’t yet in kindergarten when Buddy Holly’s plane went down. The only precedents I could remember were the sinister deaths of Bobby Fuller and Brian Jones.

Veteran rockers might be dropping like flies now, but there was no such thing as an old rock star then. Dying automatically meant dying too young.

And Hendrix’s demise, maybe more than many that followed, was tragic ally premature. The body of work he left behind, much of which surfaced after he died, still sounds timeless and full of prom ise after four decades.

The first posthumous release, The Cry of Love, came within less than six months. Made up of some of the songs intended for Hendrix’s next album, it was the most ubiquitous music in the summer of ’71 soundtrack. At least in my circles.

Hendrix’s posthumous releases have been coming out non-stop since then – remixed, remastered, repack aged and rediscovered. Wikipedia lists 53 studio, live and compilation albums.

During his lifetime, Hendrix released only three studio albums and one live recording, all with in less than three years.

Yet such was his artistry that even rough outtakes, like the ones that surfaced this year on Valleys of Neptune, continue to fascinate fans and musicians, young and old.

Other Great write ups here.

My Friend, local disk jockey Ken Calvert writes on Facebook:

?1970 ~ Jimi Hendrix dies in a London apartment. The coroner rules it accidental, saying the 27-year-old died of asphyxiation. There will never be another. Today, the wind cries Jimi.

They say he was murdered; we will never know the truth, the bastard that had him killed died himself in a plane crash. Which, if this be the case; was sweet justice.

Some great tunes from the person that basically influenced this rather backward geek to pick up a guitar and actually learn to play:

The tune that actually turned me on to Hendrix, told to me; by of all people, my youth pastor!:

Some of Hendrix’s sweeter stuff:

Rest in Peace, Jimi. You influenced me in ways, that you could never know. 🙁

It is official: Lisa Murkowski just wants to be spanked

I have laid in bed for the good part of the night, agonizing; do I post this or do I not?

Well, I got one thing to say…..

The bitch just wants to be spanked.

Click here for the story, Click here for the video.

AllahPundit Snarks:

Joe Miller’s unloading on Murkowski to National Review, saying her “lifeblood is power” and that she has a “disconnection from reality.” No doubt Scott McAdams, the Democrat in the race, will jump in tomorrow by calling the three of them wingnut neo-Hitlers. In such a vicious, chaotic melee, there can be but one winner, my friends: Traffic-seeking bloggers. Exit question: Time to start making newly elected senators sign pledges promising to drop out if they lose a primary in the future? That won’t stop them from breaking their promises, of course, but it’ll remind voters of what lying little weasels they are when they do.

The ADN reports:

With the slogan “Let’s Make History,” Lisa Murkowski announced Friday that she’d pursue a write-in bid to keep her seat in the U.S. Senate after losing the Republican primary to Joe Miller.

The decision is a historic gamble for Murkowski, who was joined by hundreds of supporters waving red-and-blue “Lisa for Senate” signs and chanting “Run, Lisa, Run!” in the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center in Anchorage.

No one has run a successful write-in campaign for the U.S. Senate since Strom Thurmond in 1954.

Murkowski said she knows she faces a massive undertaking, not only to convince voters to support her but also to educate them on what they need to do for their vote to count. She acknowledged she made mistakes in her campaign, chief among them her failure to hit back when Miller and the Tea Party Express attacked her.

“Well, ladies and gentlemen, friends and supporters, the gloves are off and I’m fighting for Alaska,” Murkowski said. “Alaskans deserve a fighter in the United States Senate who will always stand up for Alaska, who understands our great potential, who has the experience, respect and seniority to accomplish that. I am that senator.”

It was clear that Murkowski won’t have the support of state and national Republican leaders. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said he told her she no longer has his support to serve in the Senate Republican leadership ranks, and accepted her resignation from that role. Alaska Republican Party Chairman Randy Ruedrich said “she will receive no support of any kind from the Alaska Republican Party.”

“Lisa has chosen to run against the Republican Party and its primary voters. We will treat her candidacy as we would anyone who chooses to oppose our party’s nominees, Ruedrich said.

Former Gov. Sarah Palin, whose support for Miller drove hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations from the Tea Party Express his way, called Murkowski’s effort futile. Murkowski offered a response to Palin, who resigned as governor last year, and to others she described as “naysayers” in Washington D.C.

“Perhaps it’s one time they met one Republican woman who won’t quit on Alaska,” Murkowski said, receiving a huge standing ovation from her supporters.

Me? I think the old broad just wants to be spanked and I do mean Spanked Hard; and that she will be in polls come the general election.

Quotes of the Day

But even if the Tea Party fails in the near-term—which is still not a forgone conclusion—so did the Goldwater movement, which was considered a spectacular failure after the catastrophic 1964 presidential election. Predictions were made that the Republican Party would not recover. Yet Richard Nixon, who had campaigned for Goldwater in ’64, took the White House just four years later.

Barry Goldwater, Jr. told NewsMax on Wednesday that establishment Republicans who are bitter over the stunning success of Tea Party conservatives this primary season “ought to keep their mouth shut and just take a look at what’s going on in this country” and that Christine O’Donnell’s win was “no surprise.”

For those who were surprised, it is time to take a closer look.

And remember the lessons of history.

The Tea Party ain’t no joke.

Good: The city of Gainesville, Florida will bill Pastor for crackpot publicity stunt

Never in a million years would I ever believe that I would be writing a headline like that. But it is how I feel.

VIA CNN:

Orlando, Florida (CNN) — The city of Gainesville, Florida, plans to send a bill estimated at more than $180,000 to Pastor Terry Jones for security costs surrounding his controversial threat to burn Qurans on the anniversary of the September, 11, 2001, attacks, a police spokeswoman said Friday.

Police agencies spent more than a month working on security plans to ensure the community surrounding Jones’ Dove World Outreach Center — the planned site of the burning — was safe, according to Gainesville police spokeswoman Cpl. Tscharna Senn.

Jones also told authorities he received numerous death threats because of the planned protest, which he called off amid increasing pressure from world leaders.

The Gainesville Police Department said it spent more than $100,000 while the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office spent an estimated $80,000 during the weekend of the planned demonstration.

“We have 286 sworn officers and almost everyone was working either at the Dove Center or at other soft targets,” Senn said. “Unless you were sick or injured you were working” the day the burning was to take place.

Officers secured malls in the region, the University of Florida’s football stadium and areas around the church in the days leading up to the planned event.

…and you know what this idiotic piece of crap said in response? This:

Jones said Friday that the church was “not aware that we would be billed for security.”

“If we had known this in advance, then we would have refused to have security,” he said.

Oh.My.God —- This moronic tool thinks that it is all about him. No wonder his daughter thinks that he is gone crazy! Memo to Religious nut-job: It is NOT about YOU! It is about protecting the citizens in the town of Gainsville, Florida from a Muslim uprising, because of your stupid little publicity stunt;  you ignorant tool! 😡

Unbelievable. I have seen some out of touch, tone-deaf people in my day; but this jack-wad takes the cake. Some people have accused me of being that type of a person. But, I do not even remotely hold a candle to him, at all. 🙄

This is not even mentioning into the fact that this jack-wad was actually stupid enough to pull a stunt like this; that would endanger the lives of our service members overseas. I mean, that is the absolute epitome of tone-deaf.

….and people wonder why Christianity is such a damaged brand in this day and age. It is because ignorant jack-wads like this idiot here; and that other jack-wad Freddie Phelps! Morons. Both of them. 🙄

From the Department of “Is she farking serious?”

It seems that the Republican establishment candidate, Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), whom was trounced by Joe Miller recently; is proving that she is not going away quietly. At least not as long as Palin-haters have money to burn.

The Story via Hotline On Call:

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) will run for re-election as a write-in candidate after losing her bid for renomination, according to sources briefed on Murkowski’s decision.

Murkowski’s decision will set up a 3-way battle between the incumbent, Miller and Sitka Mayor Scott McAdams (D), potentially turning the race on its head. Private 3-way polling has shown Miller leading, but by a narrow margin.

Murkowski will make the formal announcement tonight in Anchorage. She has been mulling her options after losing to attorney Joe Miller (R) by 1.8% — or about 2K votes out of 110K cast.

Miller won with the backing of the Tea Party Express and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R). The Tea Party Express spent hundreds of thousands of dollars criticizing Murkowski’s legislative accomplishments, and Palin campaigned against her rival in the race’s closing days.
She has not formally said she will run, but her campaign is inviting reporters to call in. Murkowski spokespeople were not immediately available for comment Friday afternoon.

You know something? I am not a big Palin fan. But, my God in Heaven; it just amazes me, the lengths people will go to discredit and defeat anyone who is related to Palin in any way, shape or form. It is truly mind boggling. I mean, between this here and that nutty Vanity Fair piece on Palin. I am really beginning to wonder about these people. I get the fact that there has been a long-running feud between these two woman. But is it honestly worth making ones self look like some self centered jack wad? I mean, seriously.

Whatever happened to, “Okay, I lost; Time to move on and do something else?” Is defeating someone related to Sarah Palin THAT much of a big deal that you would risk ruining your personal reputation over winning an election to a office seat? It just does not make any since to me at all. I understand the whole moderate bit; as I do claim to be one of those types myself. But to run, as a write-in? Does that not reek of the whole, “HALP! I am totally desperate to keep my job!” type of thing?

Call me weird, call me strange, call me cynical — but this is just plum idiotic.

(But don’t you ever call me late for supper… 😉 )

I can tell you right now; Obama is not getting elected in 2012; it is over for the “Hope and Change” era. Over quicker than it started.

Now, I await two things; one, I await for some identity politics ogre, to start carping about how this man is just some angry white racist bigot. Second, I await some liberal to say that this guy is just some angry rich white businessman. Well, let me be the first to tell you all something here. I happen to know a little about the crowd, who hangs around Hope Depot.

Contrary to what some might actually believe. The good majority of the people who buy products at Home Dept are the people; that are commonly known as the backbone of America in this globalist age —- Small Business owners; and the Obama Administration, with the sun-setting of the Bush tax cuts — is basically targeting that group of people. Granted, not all business owners make that kind of money. However there are those that do, and they usually have employees and when taxes increase on those people, sometimes, especially with the smaller businesses; employees have to be laid off, because the “overhead” is just too much of burden on those business people. This should be just common sense, but when you are dealing with socialist left, common sense tends to run in short supply. When you let someone go like that, that causes the said person to not be able to spend money to contribute to the economy; which hurts the service industry, and so on. Not to mention the fact that that person will have problems paying his bills.  It is a vicious cycle and it gets worse as the cycle progresses.

You see, that is one thing that I have been trying to make clear here; and I guess I will just have to say it — most likely again. I am sure I have written here in the past. Anyhow, I do not write on this blog to defend the multi-billion dollar companies. They do not need my help; they have their P.R. companies and such. I write for the small business owner and the working man, who decides to go into business for himself; painting walls, building kitchens or whatever sort of trade that he desires to do; like driving a truck or whatever. Those people should be helped, not targeted for taxes and other such stupidity that the socialist left tries to cook up. Like it or not, my friends — but the small business owner and their businesses are the backbone of America. Yes, sure, General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler have their place, as do every other big business. However, it is the small business owner, the entrepreneur that embodies the true Spirit of America.  That is who I defend and will continue to here on this blog.

The blog is, and will always be — the Blog of the working man. Not the rich man — but those who work for themselves.

A song in tribute to whom I write for:

Sorry for the silence folks

Howdy Gang,

No, the Obama red-shirts did not cart me off. At least not yet. 😉

I’ve just been busy, since I woke up. Dad went fishing today; and I was the designated “Move the Vehicles” person.

I also had to go up, with my Dad; to one of my Dad’s friends houses to dump some catfish. My Dad caught a “whole damned truckload” of ’em.

So, I’ve been a little busy today. 😀

I’ll get caught up sometime or another here.

I cannot seem to convey the fact that if I don’t write, I do not make any money. So, that’s that. 🙄

Real life around here is really starting to suck. I am really need to get a job; so I can get the hell out from under the parents man. I mean, either that, or I am going to have to take up smoking again. My nerves can’t handle this crap for much longer. 😡

Once again, this blog is ignored

John Hawkings picks his favorite blogs.

Once again, I get ignored.

Perhaps it is because I told one of his “employees” that she was a stupid bitch that was stuck on herself. Which, in fact, is very true. Not to mention her supposed “Christianity,”  just annoyed the hell out of me. This was long before she ever went to work for Hawkings.

I also ended up leaving Hawkings Conservative Ad Hive; because of his asshole-like treatment of David Frum. (Although, I still am on the Ad Hive’s rss feed in that ad, that BlogAds created; which serves no real purpose at all…)  The man is just hateful towards those who disagree with him. I have thought about raising a royal stink with BlogAds about Hawkings being the owner of that Hive; because of his being snobbish with the Administration of the Hive. I think it shows that John Hawkings is not mature enough for that sort of a thing.

Anyway, I really do not worry about being listed on a list of popular blogs; as I really do not feel that I need the traffic, at least not from him. He used to link to me all the time; until he hired the unnamed blond bimbo. Not that it really honestly matters. I have done well here, traffic-wise without him and his rather lame army of followers.

Eh, Fark ’em. I do not care. I’ve done well without them; and will continue to do so. Without being part of the elitist click of snob Bloggers.

UPDATED: Gulp: This does not look good people

Video: (Via TPM)

Be Sure and watch the ENTIRE clip before you holler at me. Well, at least from where I started it, till it ends. Again, it’s not looking good for O’Donnell — at all. 🙁

The Story:

Here’s another wonderful gem from Christine O’Donnell’s past as a frequent guest on TV shows. Back in 1996, when then-Speaker Newt Gingrich’s finances were being investigated, O’Donnell complained that people were on a witch hunt to find anything to get Gingrich, instead of paying attention to serious ethics scandals — like putting Bill Clinton on trial for the supposed murder of Deputy White House Counsel Vince Foster.

Back in the 1990s, a favorite right-wing conspiracy theory was the accusation that the Clintons had arranged the murder of Foster, a former law partner of Hillary Clinton, in the midst of the Whitewater investigations. Multiple investigations, including the work of Clinton-hunting independent counsel Kenneth Starr, have all concluded that Foster committed suicide. However, O’Donnell was squarely in the conspiracy camp back then.

That is not the half of it. There is this here and here.

I hate to be the one to sound like a Eeyore. But the more I am hearing about this young lady; the more I am truly beginning to believe that she might just be a bit too extreme; and might just be damaged goods and may just not end up winning. I know that there those who are trying their damnedest to defend her, and man I give them props. But this just might end up being a lost damned cause.

I am not saying were should throw in the towel on her. But we should, just as Karl Rove and others have said; be real about this and not get too overly expectant of a landslide —- especially in Delaware. Like I wrote before, I am not saying she cannot do it. However, I do not think it would be unreasonable to be a bit realistic about this and expect the left to flush her out; which, as you can see, they are already doing.

It, it’s, just too bad man. I thought she might have been the golden girl. 🙁 Turns out, she is more of a ugly duckling. 🙄

UPDATE: Daniel Foster over at NRO’s “The Corner” Blog points out something rather important.

A little housekeeping note

You might have noticed some changes around the place.

I’ve removed that Ad in the left sidebar. Because, at times, it was displaying the same ad as the one at the very top of the blog. Also, I moved the ad that was at the very top, above ever thing down above the ad for the Amazon bookstore. This is because that ad way up there, to me, was a distraction from the site. I did not like it there; but it did seem to bring some clicks.

The idea folks is this; I know there are people that come here, who hate the ads; I get that okay? I do want to make a little money on this blog. However, I do know how it feels to go to a blog or website and it be filled to the brim with ads — so much that it makes one want to close the browser in disgust. I am also going to give some of them ads in the left column some time and if they do not start making a profit; I will be canning those too. I believe in free market principles; and if an ad is not bringing any sort of a profit, I just will not sit and force my viewers to look at something that is not bringing a profit.

Anyhow, hope you like the changes.

Your Host,

-Pat

Karl Rove: Hey, I am just doing my job

I have to give Rove credit were credit is properly due; He is just doing this job and telling the truth about Christine O’Donnell‘s chances of winning: (H/T TPM)

Initially, I called Rove an asshole for his comments about Christine O’Donnell; however, after watching this clip, I see the man was just doing his job and as Rove and Bill O’Reilly pointed out; she does have some things that she has to explain and not in the Barack Obama style of “Oh, just go to my website, it is explained there.” kind of responses. Also, she refused to appear on Bill O’Reilly’s show. I am sorry; but that points to weakness. If she cannot face Bill O’Reilly, how can she face the battles that will face her, when she gets to congress. Bill O’Reilly does not pander, and he asks the hard questions. So, if she won’t go on his show, the maybe she has no business being in Congress. Sorry, but that is how I feel about that.

Further more, it is not lost on me, that there is a bit of that gender entitlement working here. (Proof of that, right here.) There are those that believe that Christine O’Donnell should be elected, just because she is a Conservative and happens to be a woman. However, I feel like Rush Limbaugh; let’s give her a chance and see what happens. If she loses, she loses; what did we lose, if she doesn’t get elected? We cannot do any worse, than we are doing right now.

Gender Entitlement Propaganda

This is just awful.

“We’re Women and we’re going to rule the Nation; because we’re women!” “Girl Power!”

Ugh. Enough to make me want to vomit.

Fire From The Heartland from Citizens United on Vimeo.

Progressivism is invading the Republican Party and quite frankly, it makes me sick.

Whatever happened to the days, when women stayed home, raised their children and tended to their families?

This is a form of identity politics; the female being the identity, of course. Which is, of course, something that the Democrats invented. Which reaffirms my believe that Neo-Conservatives, like the one’s shown here; are nothing more than Democrats in Republican skin.

Sad part is, they actually tricked Phyllis Schlafly into appearing in this video. I highly doubt that she is endorsing of such liberalism. If she is, I will really have rethink my support of her.

Let me be very blunt; when women begin leading a Country and a movement or political party that is supposed to be the representative of Conservative Christian values and that movement or political party is lead by women, then the Country is deep, deep spiritual peril. This is a perfect representative of that.

The Bible says, very plainly:

But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. (1 Timothy 2:12 KJV)

Further more, the Bible speaks of a woman’s role in society:

Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. (1 Corinthians 11:9 KJV)

and…

Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment. (1 Corinthians 7:3-6 KJV)

…and there you have it. The proper role of a woman in society, according to the Bible. It is not in the political arena, that is for sure.

Sarah Palin and the rest of these women might be doing good for the Republican Party. However, they are sinning against the very God, that most, if not all of them, claim to represent.

You ask, why is all this happening? It is part of, I am afraid; the apostasy that is fully upon us:

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. (2 Timothy 3:1-7 KJV)

However, there is hope for us that know the truth:

But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was. But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Timothy 3:9-17 KJV)

For what it is worth, this earth is not my home. I have a reunion meeting to attend and it will happen; one day, see here:

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 KJV)

That is what I and many others like me, look forward to. Politics is just something I write about; it is not who I am. This above, is who I am.

He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. (Revelation 22:20 KJV)

Amen.

Quote of the Day

With friends like that in the GOP, I need no other enemies. As I recently commented on Pajamas Media TV with Stephen Kruiser, the Old Guard may be an albatross as we get into the general election, but the last thing I expected was to have the GOP throw my campaign for the sake of multi-millionaire Democrat Jane Harman. Call me naïve, but I thought the GOP was interested in gaining the House in 2010 with as many seats as possible.

Is that what you want, GOP? Then embrace “unconventional” candidates with a little bit more than slapping their picture up on the GOP website. Provide mentoring, guidance, assistance, information, and data. The GOP isn’t necessarily obligated to financially assist all candidates, but they do have a duty not to work against their own.

While I am pleased the NRSC finally came forth to assist O’Donnell, their initial rebuff the night before was typical and disgusting.

Women represent over half of the electorate. We have much more to offer the party than bringing self-funded millions of dollars or attain attention due to marriages to high-level Republican men.

Our campaign will not be deterred by the snakes in the grass within the party. Or those like Rove that pontificate on what he believes the voters want. We continue to forge ahead.

And a final note to Kevin McCarthy: A majority is one woman with chutzpah.

Patterico makes a pretty fair point, BUT!

I hate to say it; but when the guy makes sense, the guy makes sense:

And make no mistake: voters probably handed a Senate seat to Democrats last night. Castle voters were polled and said they prefer the Democrat 2-1 over O’Donnell. It’s not impossible for her to win if the stars align just right. But wishing upon the stars works in the movies; in real life, not so much.

After O’Donnell’s victory, Sarah Palin issued a call for “unity” among Republicans. I fully support this and support candidate O’Donnell. She has deep flaws, but I’d rather see my flawed candidate in the Senate than the other side’s flawed candidate.

However, I can tell you that Palin’s “unity” directive is going to be hard to implement.

Part of the problem is the Republican establishment, which let slip the fact that they do not intend to give O’Donnell a cent to pursue her quixotic ambitions. The decision not to fund her mostly hopeless candidacy is defensible. The decision to announce that decision on election night is unforgivable.

If O’Donnell loses — I’m thinking “when” but saying “if” for the sake of our “unity” — Tea Partiers will not look for blame in the mirror. Establishment Republicans have given them a ready-made scapegoat, and they will flog it all the way to 2012.

Another part of the problem lies in the insufferable gloating of O’Donnell supporters over what was a fairly predictable primary victory. It does not foster “unity” to declare that O’Donnell beat “Mike Castle, Allahpundit, Charles Krauthammer, and Jim Geraghty.” It does not foster “unity” to label Paul Mirengoff a “loser” who needs to wear a dress for noting the obvious obstacles O’Donnell faces. If Twitter is any reflection of the mood among conservatives, I saw civil war last night. The Levin acolytes going around mimicking his name-calling behavior are hardly seeking “unity.”

With all their toldya so’s, you’d think these people had won the general election instead of handing it to the opposition.

If Sarah Palin truly seeks “unity,” at some point she is going to need to rein these people in.

Indeed, Patterico makes a good point. However, there is another side to this story; which I want to share with you all.

I was talking in private with Dan Riehl and I mentioned that I live here in the Detroit, Michigan area. Quite bluntly folks; The Democratic Party’s socialist policies; have screwed this area straight to hell.  30% Unemployment just in the city of Detroit. 30% —- that is a whole bunch of people out of work! In the proper CITY alone! Let’s not even get into the percentage of people that are unemployed here in the suburbs! Believe you me; it is a MUCH, MUCH, MUCH more, than you might think! That is not even mentioning the people that are, what is referred to as underemployed — or not making enough to even making their bills. Like family members of mine, who are just barely getting by.  We need a business-friendly political climate in Washington DC, not to mention in Michigan — so that Business owners can start putting people back to work — with jobs, real jobs, where people; like those in my family with houses, and children and bills — can make a decent living again.  (…and If *I* happen to score a job too, all the better, this writing and not getting paid is getting a bit old!)

Here is my point: O’Donnell might be a little nutty; she might have been a little dishonest in the past. However, if she can win this election; and makes it to DC and can reverse course on this damned socialist nightmare that we have upon us; especially here in Michigan — then damn it, I am ALL for it!

Here is my other point: Our Nation and the state of Michigan is in a serious crisis; we need real Republican ideals to get this nation back to work. Not RINO, Democratic Party lite stupidity. That sort of crap might have worked by in the days of prosperity; but let me be the one to “wee wee” on the RINO Parade —- That party is over folks, that ship sailed long ago and it is time to get back to our principles of Conservative values. If the Republican Party and the Conservative establishment does not do this; the Republican Party will die and the Nation; as we know it now, might just die with it — and in the end, we will be handing the socialists the victory they so very much desire in the end.

Now as for O’Donnell’s supposed dishonesty… here she is defending herself against the smears: (H/T HotAir)

I think she will be alright. Everyone just needs to give her a chance. Especially the Conservative establishment.

As Always: In Politics it is Washington versus The Country

I am, of course, referring to the victory of Christine O’Donnell over Neo-Con RINO Mike Castle. Which happens to be the biggest news story today. This victory has caused the Republican Party to go into meltdown mode; and to expose people like Karl Rove as carnival barkers for the GOP establishment.  Here is Rush Limbaugh’s take on what happened last night and on Rove’s asinine behavior. Needless to say, ElRushBo is not a happy camper: (H/T The Right Scoop)

Speaking of not being a happy camper; My friend Ed Morrissey lays the smack down on the Republican establishment with one of the most harsh scathing posts that I have EVER seen out of him, since I began blogger many, many moons ago!:

My advice to the GOP would be to quit whining about losing a long-shot bid to win control of the Senate and focus on actually winning the races. In fact, the odds of winning control of the upper chamber didn’t actually decline all that much, because they were small to begin with. Just a few days ago, John Cornyn told a reporter that Democrats would keep control of the Senate through 2012, when Democrats have to defend a lot more seats than the GOP.

The better question on which to focus is in Martin’s second paragraph. What does Mike Castle’s crash and burn among Delaware Republicans say about their party organization? After all, we have heard oodles of commentary about how Delaware Republicans are moderates who might get energized by the Tea Party but supposedly aren’t looking for conservative candidates. Instead, they convinced Castle to leave a relatively safe House seat instead of looking for someone who hadn’t backed a government takeover of the energy sector in cap-and-trade (in a coal-dependent region!) and co-sponsored the DISCLOSE Act. Perhaps had the GOP establishment listened a little more carefully to Delaware Republicans, who turned out relatively heavily in this election, they wouldn’t find themselves crying in their lattes this morning.

They stuck with a liberal, establishment candidate in a cycle where liberals and establishment figures are uniquely unpopular. Had the Republican leadership been in touch with Delaware Republican voters, they might have found a more suitable candidate for the popular mood, and would not have had to deal with Christine O’Donnell and her outsider bid. They have no one to blame but themselves.

Instead of pouting, Republican leaders in Delaware and around the country need to unite around the nominee, who was chosen by the Republicans in Delaware. Had Castle won the nomination, they would have demanded unity themselves, and rightly so. If they want to continue to issue snarky, anonymous asides and in essence take their ball and go home, don’t expect the electorate to follow them into battle in the future. Rarely have I seen such childishness from the supposed leaders of a political establishment, who set the very rules and customs they now want to ignore because they just got embarrassed on a national stage.

Grow up, shut up, and get to work.

I hated to quote all of that; but I wanted to give you a good flavor of what is happening right now in the Conservative grassroots as opposed to the Republican establishment. Karl Rove shot his mouth off, and now he has over half of the Conservative world angry with him. I look for Karl Rove to most likely disappear for a while. But then again, those establishment types never really go away. They just sit and wait for the chance to pounce on something new. Just ask Dick Army; another person that I just do not like.

Now for the six thousand dollar question; do I think Christine O’Donnell can pull the election off in November? Well, as President Barack Obama said in the election of 2008 —- Hope!

The Obligatory Karl Rove is an asshole posting

He is, really.

Meanwhile, Christine O’Donnell continues to act like a Lady should: (via The Right Scoop – H/T The Other McCain)

As for Rove… I stopped taking him seriously after this:
