Karl Rove: Hey, I am just doing my job

I have to give Rove credit were credit is properly due; He is just doing this job and telling the truth about Christine O’Donnell‘s chances of winning: (H/T TPM)

Initially, I called Rove an asshole for his comments about Christine O’Donnell; however, after watching this clip, I see the man was just doing his job and as Rove and Bill O’Reilly pointed out; she does have some things that she has to explain and not in the Barack Obama style of “Oh, just go to my website, it is explained there.” kind of responses. Also, she refused to appear on Bill O’Reilly’s show. I am sorry; but that points to weakness. If she cannot face Bill O’Reilly, how can she face the battles that will face her, when she gets to congress. Bill O’Reilly does not pander, and he asks the hard questions. So, if she won’t go on his show, the maybe she has no business being in Congress. Sorry, but that is how I feel about that.

Further more, it is not lost on me, that there is a bit of that gender entitlement working here. (Proof of that, right here.) There are those that believe that Christine O’Donnell should be elected, just because she is a Conservative and happens to be a woman. However, I feel like Rush Limbaugh; let’s give her a chance and see what happens. If she loses, she loses; what did we lose, if she doesn’t get elected? We cannot do any worse, than we are doing right now.

  1. One of the things I like about this blog is I can disagree with you and not be banned.

In this case I still am POed and disappointed with Karl – He needs to handle his position in such a way as to not make a conflict of interest between his political fund raising activities and Republican support and his commentary jobs.

What he said today was appropriate and true. Castle polling showed him as an easy R seat – while O’Donnell polling shows she needs to pick up votes.

And I do consider it elitist to suggest that anybody who has had difficulty paying off a student loans may want to reconsider running for an office. Yes I understand most people who run for senate are millionaires but to suggest people only want senators who are millionaires suggest to me that maybe he has been in Washington a little bit to long.

      Hey Wayne,

The only time I don’t approve comments and/or ban people from commenting — is when they use the comments to insult me.

I’ve said that a half a hundred million times….. and still people think I’m some sort of ban hammer type.

      Anyhow….:

I agree with that part there. You are correct, it is NOT cheap to run for office…. and yes, I agree the being in Washington D.C. too long bit too.

Still I think she should, at least, answer the questions, DIRECTLY and not just dodge them or refer the people that ask them to her website.

Way I see it Wayne, is like this; if she’s being shady about ANYTHING at all. She will be flushed out. The American people are smarter than many; like Rove, like to make them out to be. Like Bill O’Reilly said last night — I missed his show today — in Delaware, the independents will decide the race and not the Tea Party or GOP folk. There is just not enough of them, I know this, because it is that way pretty everywhere. The Independent folk usually end up deciding the race.

      Thanks for the comments Wayne!

      -Pat

  2. Needs to be addressed, Sooner she does it the better, The silver lining is because of the negative attacks by Castle she can address them now and not be hit with them in October.
