First Lady Michelle Obama: America Still Unequal

This comes BreitBart.TV with a H/T to Riehl World View:

Yeah, she is going to keep fighting alright; fighting for the handouts to the lazy ass idiots who would rather get a handout, instead of getting a job and being a productive part of society. Her and her socialist twit hubby, would rather give handouts to their people; than get America back to work.

Also, she makes reference to “Her people”, yeah, the people who were brought to America as damned criminals. Criminals who were freed by a Republican named Abraham Lincoln — against the wishes of the people of the South. A freeing that also destroyed the economy of the South. A people who in 1964, by an unconstitutional act of Congress, were integrated in the south; again, against the will and wishes of the southern people.

…But yet, they are still not free. 🙄

Someone needs to tell Mrs. Bambi Bitch Teleprompter to get over it and that the slaves were freed and her people are free to roam the south as they wish.

Mel Gibson really puts on the toon looney

I hate to sound like a bigot; but you know what my feelings are? Basically this: Eh, serves him right for taking the true account of the Crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ and making it into a Roman Catholic Church propaganda movie. Yes, I saw the “Passion” and I know what was in it. Pure Roman Catholic propaganda crap. I say that as a Fundamentalist Baptist and proud Protestant Christian. (although most Fundy Baptists don’t consider themselves Protestants.)

Sarah Palin needs help with her legal bills

I received this via e-mail:

Dear Pat,

Time is running out.

Since the first frivolous ethics charges were filed against Sarah Palin two years ago, legal bills for the Palin family have mounted into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Last year, friends of the family set up the Alaska Fund Trust to help pay legal fees. They used the words “official legal fund” so that supporters would know it was the fund trusted by the Palins.
But now — because Governor Palin used the word “official” —  an independent counsel decided that Sarah Palin “violated” the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act when she served as governor of the state.
Funds donated to the Alaska Fund Trust were immediately frozen until the legal challenge was sorted out.
Governor Palin has now agreed to send the money back to the donors. This means that not a single dollar of the trust fund went to pay the Governor’s massive legal fees.
On June 24, 2010 a new legal defense fund — The Sarah Palin Legal Defense Fund — was created to pay these urgent legal bills.
We set up the new fund to cover the Palin’s legal bills for past, present, and future attacks.
The fund has been set up by friends and trusted advisors of Governor Palin.
Let’s help Governor Palin with this incredible burden that no citizen should have to bear and  free her to speak out on behalf of conservatives all across this great country.
Will you help us relieve Governor Palin of this burden?

Pat, as a supporter of Governor Palin, help us with the legal fees stemming from those frivolous charges against Governor Palin.

Yours truly,

Tim Crawford

Trustee

Now, I will tell you this; I was never really a huge Palin fan. But I thought the gal got a raw deal with the liberal media and from idiots that put this Lady through the mill. I am asking those who actually read this blog to help Palin out. Further more, because of hateful bastards like these twits here, I am asking that you double your support for Palin.

The main reason why I even wanted to get involved with this; is this fact right here:

They called it the Alaska Fund Trust, the “official legal fund” for Governor Palin.

In fact, they added the words “official legal fund” so that supporters would know it was not just approved by the family, but that it complied with disclosure requirements, had professional management, created limits on who could donate and how much could be donated, and a variety of other restrictions that made it a very conservative and limited trust.

Further, the word “official” was used to distinguish the Alaska Fund Trust from other legal defense funds that were starting to pop up and no one knew if these would comply with disclosure laws, lobbyist restrictions, etc.

But now – because she used the word “official” – an independent counsel decided that the Trust “violated” the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act and now requires the Trust to send back every single donation raised by the defense fund while she was governor.

The left-wing media wants you to think Gov. Palin is an “ethics violator.” But they ignore the actual findings that Gov. Palin acted in good faith and relied on a team of expert trust lawyers to set it up.

They ignore that Gov. Palin stated one overriding principle: if the trust fund could be lawfully set up, she would support it. That is hardly the action of a person bent on skirting the law, contrary to the hysterical commentaries. But they ignore the truth and prefer to propagate lies about Sarah Palin.

They DON’T want you to know:

  • The National Democratic Committee used its Alaska chapter, the Alaska Democratic Party (ADP), to create a website with one stated goal: “Keep Sarah Palin Out of Public Office.” To this day, the Democrats use this website to publicly seek donations for funding bogus “legal challenges involving issues related to Sarah Palin.”
  • The ADP’s “Keep Sarah Palin Out of Public Office” campaign used our own legal system to sponsor more than two dozen ethics complaints against Governor Palin. Out of the 27 complaints, 26 were dismissed!
  • The so-called “independent counsel” who started this investigation was an attorney from President Barack Obama’s law firm.

The money in the Alaska Fund Trust has been frozen and bills gone unpaid.

You see the part up there, that I put in bold, underlined and colored red? That, my friends, is the reason why I even bothered to post this here. This crusade against Sarah Palin is nothing more than a 21 century lynching against a Conservative Christian Woman.  Admittedly, John McCain’s campaign did do some stuff wrong; at least I feel anyway… — but the bulk of blame goes towards the Democrats, who relentlessly hounded this woman to death and still continues to do so.

Which is just one, in a litany of reasons why I will never vote for anyone representing the Democratic Party, ever again.

Now, I ask you; as a Christian, as someone who believes that the Republican Party does, in fact, embrace the Tea Party values and does want to see a strong, secure America. * I ask you to help Sarah Palin pay down these legal bills, so that she can be free to enjoy the rest of her political and personal career, as she sees fit. Please, do not allow these liberal bastards to bring someone like Palin down or allow them to win the battle. Fight back, with the best weapon possible — your pocketbook. I know times are hard; In fact, I am going through tough times myself. But, all donations, no matter how big or how small will help her out.

Thanks for reading. 🙂

-Patrick

* – Disclaimer: I have never, nor will I ever, be a member or affiliated with the actual Republican National Committee. I have never as much sent them a dime. So, before you call me a Republican, please note this.

Erick Erickson is a hypocritical twit

Pot meet kettle….

Erick Erickson on Bob Inglis….:

Hogan mentioned Bob Bennett’s comments earlier. Bennett thought it beneath him and outside conservatism to think the constitution may limit him, a senator, from legislating.

Well, over in South Carolina, Daniel Foster points out another example, defeated Republican Bob Inglis.

Inglis, defeated in a Republican primary by tea party activists, has shared what he really thinks of conservatives — they are racist, bigotted, and easily led by villains like Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck.

The soon to be former congressman loathes the term “death panel” and thinks people who criticize Barack Obama are racists, just like those tea party activists who, on the day they were throwing Bob Inglis out of office, were putting in office an Indian lady and a black guy down in Charleston.

I guess they are blind racists. Somebody ask Bob Inglis to confirm.

Now just a few days ago, on Michael Steele:

I have heard Michael Steele’s comments regarding Afghanistan and the President.

I have read the RNC’s statement on the matter.

The RNC statement is indecipherable in the context of what Michael Steele actually said.

The war in Afghanistan is not a war of Barack Obama’s choosing. It is a war of Al Qaeda and the Taliban’s choosing. We responded.

Michael Steele must resign. He has lost all moral authority to lead the GOP.

That part I underlined, is the talking-point of the Wilsonian, Statist Republicans and Conservatives who believe in a perpetual war in Iraq and Afghanistan and any other damned where they think terrorists might be hiding. The truth is that nobody knows for sure, where Osama Bin Laden is even at anymore; further more, anyone who has tried to build a Nation in Afghanistan, has failed at it, but that means nothing to people like Liz Cheney and  Erick Erickson. People like these two want war — forever or as along as it is profitable to big businesses like the one’s that Dick Cheney and the Bush Family owns.

So, yeah, I am calling out Erick Erickson for his blatant hypocritical crap here.  How dare he call someone else a Statist? When he himself has made the same damned type of statements —- But just on a different subject.

Lawlessness at the DOJ?

Unreal:

I was at the Voting Section of the Justice Department for over five years. This office is responsible for enforcing most federal election laws which do not involve criminal matters. My previous articles at Pajamas Media have spoken of the DOJ’s lawless abandonment of race-neutral enforcement of voting laws, and other outrageous conduct. I will continue to publish here at Pajamas Media more instances of failure to enforce the law equally by the Department.

One such instance relates to the Motor Voter law, and will shock Americans who care about integrity in the electoral process.

The “Motor Voter” law was passed in 1993 to promote greater voter registration in the United States. It did this — most Americans now know from visits to the DMV — by requiring states to offer voter registration materials whenever someone had contact with a variety of state offices. These included welfare offices, social service agencies, and motor vehicle departments.

A lesser-known provision also obliged the states to ensure that no ineligible voters were on the rolls — including dead people, felons, and people who had moved. Our current Department of Justice is anxious to encourage the obligations to get everyone registered, but explicitly unwilling to enforce federal law requiring states to remove the dead or ineligible from the rolls.

In November 2009, the entire Voting Section was invited to a meeting with Deputy Assistant Attorney General Julie Fernandes, a political employee serving at the pleasure of the attorney general. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Motor Voter enforcement decisions.

The room was packed with dozens of Voting Section employees when she made her announcement regarding the provisions related to voter list integrity:

We have no interest in enforcing this provision of the law. It has nothing to do with increasing turnout, and we are just not going to do it.

Jaws dropped around the room.

via Pajamas Media » Lawlessness at the DOJ: Voting Section Told Not To Enforce Purging the Dead or Ineligible from Voting Rolls.

I think it is time for revolution; by all means necessary. 😡

McCarthy was right; and the damned Communists are now in our Justice Dept.

Drudge gets it wrong

Once again, Matt Drudge is posting misleading headlines:

Spooky headline, right?

Wrong.

Actually, the headline is about a story, that is actually a good thing, securing our power plants and so forth.

The story is reported by the Wall Street Journal:

The federal government is launching an expansive program dubbed “Perfect Citizen” to detect cyber assaults on private companies and government agencies running such critical infrastructure as the electricity grid and nuclear-power plants, according to people familiar with the program.

The surveillance by the National Security Agency, the government’s chief eavesdropping agency, would rely on a set of sensors deployed in computer networks for critical infrastructure that would be triggered by unusual activity suggesting an impending cyber attack, though it wouldn’t persistently monitor the whole system, these people said.

Defense contractor Raytheon Corp. recently won a classified contract for the initial phase of the surveillance effort valued at up to $100 million, said a person familiar with the project.

An NSA spokeswoman said the agency had no information to provide on the program. A Raytheon spokesman declined to comment.

Some industry and government officials familiar with the program see Perfect Citizen as an intrusion by the NSA into domestic affairs, while others say it is an important program to combat an emerging security threat that only the NSA is equipped to provide.

“The overall purpose of the [program] is our Government…feel[s] that they need to insure the Public Sector is doing all they can to secure Infrastructure critical to our National Security,” said one internal Raytheon email, the text of which was seen by The Wall Street Journal. “Perfect Citizen is Big Brother.”

Raytheon declined to comment on this email.

A U.S. military official called the program long overdue and said any intrusion into privacy is no greater than what the public already endures from traffic cameras. It’s a logical extension of the work federal agencies have done in the past to protect physical attacks on critical infrastructure that could sabotage the government or key parts of the country, the official said.

U.S. intelligence officials have grown increasingly alarmed about what they believe to be Chinese and Russian surveillance of computer systems that control the electric grid and other U.S. infrastructure. Officials are unable to describe the full scope of the problem, however, because they have had limited ability to pull together all the private data.

Perfect Citizen will look at large, typically older computer control systems that were often designed without Internet connectivity or security in mind. Many of those systems—which run everything from subway systems to air-traffic control networks—have since been linked to the Internet, making them more efficient but also exposing them to cyber attack.

The goal is to close the “big, glaring holes” in the U.S.’s understanding of the nature of the cyber threat against its infrastructure, said one industry specialist familiar with the program. “We don’t have a dedicated way to understand the problem.”

The information gathered by Perfect Citizen could also have applications beyond the critical infrastructure sector, officials said, serving as a data bank that would also help companies and agencies who call upon NSA for help with investigations of cyber attacks, as Google did when it sustained a major attack late last year.

So much for that big scary headline eh? But when you are Matt Drudge. The facts mean nothing; as long as you have an agenda to fulfill. As a Conservative; I believe that securing our infrastructure is a good thing. The only people who have to fear from something of this nature, are the people who are using the internet to break the law. So, if you are law abiding citizen, you have absolutely nothing to fear at all.

Also, it should be noted, that the Government did something similar to this, under the Bush Administration. That until the liberal media ran with it, and the courts decided that Bush needed a warrant to spy on people. So, this little narrative is quite silly.

Now, can someone please tell me why the heck Matt Drudge’s site is so popular? It cannot be because of his factual reporting. 🙄

May God Bless Huffington Post for publishing this

This is a very interesting read:

Much has been said in the Cuban regime’s official media about my son Orlando Zapata Tamayo, a young black man. Many lies have been told, and it has been said that my son was a criminal, and that he was not simply allowed to die. The truth is that my son was murdered. The truth is that my son was allowed to die on a hunger strike he held to demand respect for his rights, and to demand freedom for his people. Today, I would like to tell you just who Orlando Zapata Tamayo was: a defender of human rights, and my beloved son.

via Reina Luisa Tamayo Danger: Zapata Lives!.

This article is a very good read, it is truly hard to believe that Huffington Post would actually publish that on a Liberally biased site. After all, are not Liberal Socialists at least sympathetic to the communist cause?

What saddens me, is that the Huffington Post actually advocates the kind of Government that this woman’s son died under; Big Government. Which is, in fact, socialism, which is, one step away from actual communism.

I think it took courage to post that, considering some of the comments on that posting. Which is not too surprising for that crowd.

One the other hand, Huffington Post did crop a photo of the President of Israel to give him devils horns. Which tells me, not everyone over at Huffington Post shares in the ideals of freedom for everyone; including Israel.

Norman Rockwell, A Coward?

That is what some idiot over at the Washington post is saying: (H/T HotAir Headlines)

This Fourth of July, let’s celebrate courage. It took courage to split from England, courage to risk democracy and still more courage to dream up a constitution to preserve it.

Courage has been the signature virtue of almost every great American: Emily Dickinson was brave to warp grammar, Louis Armstrong was brave to blow jazz and Jackson Pollock was brave to paint splats.

Norman Rockwell is often championed as the great painter of American virtues. Yet the one virtue most nearly absent from his work is courage. He doesn’t challenge any of us, or himself, to think new thoughts or try new acts or look with fresh eyes. From the docile realism of his style to the received ideas of his subjects, Rockwell reliably keeps us right in the middle of our comfort zone.

That’s what made him one of the most important painters in U.S. history, and the most popular. He had almost preternatural social intuitions, along with brilliant skills as a visual salesman. Over his seven-decade career, that coupling let him figure out what middle-class white Americans most wanted to feel about themselves, then sell it back to them in paint. (He started working as an illustrator at 16, in 1910. He died, still in the saddle at 84, in 1978.)

You could say that Rockwell painted the backdrop against which American courage has had to play out.

A new show of 57 Rockwells, borrowed from the collections of Hollywood celebrities Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, opened Friday at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. It includes oil paintings and drawings, and every one of them is a perfect depiction of what we’ve been taught to think of as true Rockwellian America.

There’s the small-town runaway, and the cop who takes him out for a malt before returning him home. Aw, shucks.

There are the three old biddies gossiping, imagined as so ancient and gnarled that Rockwell had to use a man in drag to model them. What a hoot!

There’s the remote blonde in her convertible being joshed by a couple of truckers. Jeez, lady, wontcha give those guys a wink?

In ads and magazine covers, on calendars and Green Stamps books — on any surface that took ink, for any client who could afford his fees — Rockwell sold us the vision of America as a place where troubles are never more than “scrapes” and flaws are always “foibles.”

Rockwell remains resolutely, immovably on the mild side even when he goes “serious,” as in his famous “Four Freedoms” series from 1942. (The conservative critic Dave Hickey, otherwise a Rockwell booster, has said that “when he’s doing ideas, he’s really awful.”) Rockwell’s vision of “Freedom of Speech,” included in the Smithsonian’s show, doesn’t invoke a communist printing his pamphlets or an atheist on a soapbox. It gives us a town hall meeting of almost interchangeable New Englanders, no doubt agreeing to disagree about something as divisive as the rates for those new parking meters. For this, the Founders risked powder and ball?

Of course, Rockwell’s true achievement wasn’t in his trepidatious, homogenized vision of the country. That existed already. (The Saturday Evening Post, for instance, for which Rockwell painted 323 covers, forbade him to depict blacks except in subservient roles. Toward the end of his career, Rockwell got Look magazine to publish a few heroic scenes from the civil rights movement — at just the moment when such subjects had moved into the mainstream of American thought.) Rockwell’s great accomplishment lay in selling us this tepid vision of ourselves as one we simply had to buy into, on a communal scale.

[…]

Rockwell’s greatest sin as an artist is simple: His is an art of unending cliché. The reason we so easily “recognize ourselves” in his paintings is because they reflect the standard image we already know. His stories resonate so strongly because they are the stories we’ve told ourselves a thousand times.

Those stories couldn’t have been otherwise. To sell the publications and goods his pictures were in aid of, Rockwell’s images needed to be grasped and digested in seconds — and, unlike really notable art, they reliably achieved such fast-food effects.

His young women are always “spunky” or “hotties.” Young girls are “impish” or “pure.” Husbands are “harried” and Grandpa is “kindly.” And young boys — as the art history scholar Eric Segal has pointed out — are either good and scrappy, busy roughhousing at the rural swimming hole, or urban and effeminate and overcivilized, in need of a good, toughening hazing.

Segal is part of a Rockwell reassessment that began around the time of the artist’s last Washington retrospective, held at the Corcoran Gallery of Art just 10 years ago. If the experts haven’t found new reasons to like him, they’ve found new ways to look at his achievement. Literary scholar Richard Halpern has suggested that Rockwell’s vision of America is aware of its own gaps, making his paintings “not so much innocent as . . . about the way we manufacture innocence.” The eminent art historian Alan Wallach has dared to see Rockwell’s “capitalist realism” as deeply ideological, along the lines of socialist realism.

Most reactions to Rockwell, however, continue to be decidedly simpler. Steven Spielberg has said, “I look back at these paintings as America the way it could have been, the way someday it may again be.” He and others have bought Rockwell’s bill of goods. But what these speakers, and these pictures, fail to grasp is that the special, courageous greatness of the nation lies in its definitive refusal of any single “American way.”

America isn’t about Rockwell’s one-note image of it — or anyone else’s. This country is about a game-changing guarantee that equal room will be made for Latino socialists, disgruntled lesbian spinsters, foul-mouthed Jewish comics and even, dare I say it, for metrosexual half-Canadian art critics with a fondness for offal, spinets and kilts.

I don’t want to live by the clichés of a wan, Rockwellian America, and I don’t admire pictures that suggest that all of us should. But I see why we need to look into how, in a world full of threats, so many of us have been soothed by their vision.

Obviously this elitist twit has not seen this:

Now, can someone tell me just what the hell was wrong with Norman Rockwell?

Living proof that socialist Liberals are classless assholes.

I present to you… Matthew Rothschild. That last name ought to make the tin foil hat crowd do back flips:

It’s July 4th, my least favorite holiday.

And I’m not referring to the bugs, or the crowds, or the traffic on the highways.

I’m talking about the mindless patriotic bubble bath we’re all supposed to soak in all weekend long.

Well, not me.

My heart does not beat faster at the strains of the Star Spangled Banner, much less at the sight of F-16s flying overhead to kick off the show.

You see, I don’t believe in patriotism.

You can call me unpatriotic if you’d like, but really I’m anti-patriotic.

I’ve been studying fascism lately, and there is one inescapable fact about it:

Nationalism is the egg that hatches fascism.

And patriotism is but the father of nationalism.

Patriotism is not something to play with. It’s highly toxic. When ingested, it corrodes the rational faculties.

It gulls people into believing their leaders.

It masks those who benefit most from state policy.

And it destroys the ability of people to get together, within the United States and across boundaries, to take on those with the most power: the multinational corporation.

Plus, it’s a war toy, wheeled out whenever a leader needs to improve his ratings by attacking some other country—often after invoking God’s name, too.

It’s been so since the Spanish-American War and World War I and right up through the Iraq War and the Afghanistan War.

American patriotism has also gotten in the way of solving global warming. Many in the United States, which consumes 25 percent of the world’s resources but has just 4 percent of the world’s population, believe we have the God-given right to use up all the resources we can. And there is an all-too-common attitude that we don’t need to listen to any other countries, or the U.N., or obey any international agreements because we’re Americans, and we’re better than everybody else.

We’ve got to get over patriotism, and we’ve got to cure the American superiority complex.

So celebrate the 4th if you like.

But as for me, between God, country, and apple pie, I’ll take the apple pie.

As you know, Christopher Hitchens has been diagnosed with cancer. Well, Pat Archbold over at the National Catholic Register wrote a very nice piece about Hitchens and basically said that he was praying for his recovery. Well, some idiotic religious twit made this comment:

So, someone who has been spewing hatred of our Lord now has esophageal cancer.

I think He is clearly at work here. Let us pray ever more strongly that he repents, that he feels the love that He provides for him for the rest of his earthly life, and that he enters into the promised resurrection of the dead. Perhaps he will even intercede for us.

Oy Vey, where does one start here? This is one of the biggest reasons why I keep Christianity and religion in general at arms length; where it belongs. 😡

Go Figure: Ron Paul supports Michael Steele

Shocker? Perhaps Not: (H/T to the Daily Paul)

Ron Paul and Michael Steele - Two Brothers from a Different Mother?

LAKE JACKSON, Texas–(EON: Enhanced Online News)–Congressman Ron Paul today issued the following statement on Michael Steele’s recent comments that Afghanistan is a war of President Obama’s choosing:

“The American people are sick and tired spending hundreds of billions of dollars a year, draining our economy and straining our military. Michael Steele has it right and Republicans should stick by him.”

“I would like to congratulate Michael Steele for his leadership on one of the most important issues of today. He is absolutely right: Afghanistan is now Obama’s war. During the 2008 campaign, Obama was out in front in insisting that more troops be sent to Afghanistan. Obama called for expanding the war even as he pretended to be a peace candidate.

“Michael Steele should not resign. Smart policies make smart politics. He is guiding the party in the right direction and we are on the verge of victory this fall. Chairman Steele should not back off. He is giving the country, especially young people, hope as he speaks truth about this war.

“I have to ask myself, what is the agenda of the harsh critics demanding this resignation? Why do they support Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama’s war?

Horrible News: UN says at least 220 dead in oil explosion in Congo

This is just damned awful:

SANGE, Congo – A tanker truck hauling fuel on a rural eastern Congo highway overturned, gushing oil and exploding in a massive fireball that killed at least 220 bystanders, including many who had been watching the World Cup in flimsy roadside shacks, officials and witnesses said Saturday.

Among the dead were 61 children and 36 women, the Red Cross said. Also killed were villagers who had descended on the truck to siphon fuel illegally from the wreckage, apparently unaware of the danger, the U.N. said.

U.N. peacekeepers rushed to evacuate more than 200 wounded from the scene by helicopter and ambulance, while Red Cross teams carried the charred bodies from the scene in body bags and buried them in two mass graves a few miles (kilometers) away.

The truck overturned as it was trying to pass a minibus late Friday near the village of Sange, around 20 miles (30 kilometers) north of Uvira, a town on the northern tip of Lake Tanganyika near the Burundi border, said Mana Lungwe, manager of the Congolese oil company that owns the truck. The vehicle began gushing oil, then burst into flames an hour later, he said.

Lungwe said the driver was injured in the accident and taken to a local clinic before the blast occurred. Sange is located between Uvira and the Congolese provincial capital, Bukavu, further to the north.

Living proof that spending the way out of a recession does not work

Well, looks like my job prospects just got worse:

The train that is the nation’s economic recovery has slowed noticeably, unable to generate enough jobs in the last two months to keep pace with population growth, much less reduce the vast numbers of unemployed Americans.

The United States added just 83,000 private sector jobs in June, according to the monthly statistical snapshot released by the Labor Department. The unemployment rate declined to 9.5 percent, from 9.7 percent in May. But that was a largely illusory decline, as 652,000 Americans left the work force.

Over all, the nation lost 125,000 jobs in June, but those losses came as temporary federal Census workers headed for the exits.

With the economy slowing — housing sales plummeted, while earnings and hours worked ticked downward last month — the stakes grow larger, economically and politically. The next few monthly unemployment reports will unfold during the run-up to the midterm Congressional elections this fall. Incumbents feel particularly precarious, and major economic decisions about financial reform, unemployment benefits, and aid to states still sit on their desks.

via Recovery Slows With Weak Job Creation in June – NYTimes.com.

Think maybe now the Democrats will finally get it? Guess again. (h/t The Other McCain)

Quote:

“Now, let me say that unemployment insurance, we talk about it as a safety net and the rest — this is one of the biggest stimuluses [sic] to our economy. Economists will tell you, this money is spent quickly. It injects demand into the economy and it’s job-creating. It creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name because, again, it is money that is needed for families to survive, and it is spent. So it has a double benefit — it helps those who have lost their jobs, but it also is a job-creator and so, uh, for that reason — for those two reasons at least — it should be passed, and I’m optimistic that it will.”

First of all, you are pathetic…big fat grown unemployed guy living with Mommy and you used to be a blue-dog Demo.? Anytime you have to identify yourself in the past with the word “dog” is pretty sad. I won’t come back here…drippy writing..mispelled words…(Afghan) and a guy unemployed since 2005 with nothing better to do…Oh god..go volunteer somewhere.

Well….Well…Well…. Looks like my writings have angered some on the far liberal left side of the fence. Mrs. “Evelyn”s IP address traces to no other than:

You know what pisses people off like Evelyn here? It is because I am quite real; because I am not some liberal or Conservative elitist blogging from the poolside of my million dollar mansion. It is because I screw with the narrative of the far liberal left in this Country. Because I refuse to accept the socialism and group think of the liberal establishment.  Because I happen to believe that the reason Michigan’s economy is so damned screwed up, not to mention that of the entire United States; is because of the stupid social engineering of the United States and yes, of Michigan too — by the Democratic Party.

So, to “Evelyn Jones” and to the rest of the liberal twits who happen to pass by here and not like what they see or read. I got one thing to say to you:

Thank You for your Support!

1.3 unemployed won’t get unemployment, Democrats grandstand the issue

I got four words for ’em — Cry Me a River:

WASHINGTON – More than 1.3 million laid-off workers won’t get their unemployment benefits reinstated before Congress goes on a weeklong break for Independence Day.

And hundreds of thousands more will lose their benefits in the coming weeks.

The House voted 270-153 Thursday to extend jobless benefits for people who have been laid off for long stretches, but the gesture was made futile by the Senate’s inability to pass the bill. For the third time in as many weeks, Republicans in the Senate successfully filibustered a similar measure Wednesday night before senators adjourned for vacation.

A little more than 1.3 million people have already lost benefits since the last extension ran out at the end of May, according to the Labor Department. By the end of the week, the number will jump to 1.7 million. By the end of July, it would top 3 million.

“It is hard to understand how anybody can come to this floor and say, for 1.7 million people and their families, this is not an emergency,” said Rep. Sander Levin, D-Mich., chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. “There is no excuse for voting no.”

The bill would extend unemployment payments for up to a total of 99 weeks, for people whose state-paid benefits have run out. The benefits would be available through the end of November, at a cost of $33.9 billion. The money would have been borrowed, adding to the budget deficit.

via 1.3 million unemployed won’t get benefits restored – Yahoo! News.

Steve Gilbert over at Sweetness and Light points out:

This is political grandstanding of the worst kind. The Republicans have repeatedly said that they would extend unemployment benefits if the Democrats would strip out all the other things they have larded up the bill with. That is to say, the Republicans have said they would vote for a stand-alone unemployment extension.

But the Democrats refuse present such a bill because they think they can score political points by claiming that the GOP opposes extending benefits for those out of work.

As for me; I have no pity for those people who have been on the Government dole and are now losing the dole. Why? Because when I became unemployed back in 2005. I was not eligible for unemployment, at all. Why? Because I quit my job. The job was making me physically sick and I could not take it anymore and I quit. So, that automatically disqualifies me from getting any benefits. (Looking back on it, I MIGHT have been able to collect… But, at the time, I thought I had another job lined up. Needless to say, that never happened…)

So, since 2005; I have been having to basically live off my folks and making whatever little this blog brings in for cash. Which really is not much at all, when you get right down to it. But I do much enjoy writing about politics and the idiotic Democrats! 😉  You think the Government would push aside its rules and regulations for this white boy? Yeah Right! Now maybe if I was some sort of an oppressed minority or something. But, I am just another evil white man and the Government hasn’t established a fund for the evil poor white man yet.

You would think that the condition that the Country is in that the Democrats would just say, “Okay, Unemployment Benefits only.” But, no, they would rather grandstand an issue, all just to try secure votes come November. Which to be truly honest, is not going to guarantee the Democrats anything at all. Heck, if I were a Republican or a Democrat right now; I would be very worried, because there is a good deal of anti-incumbent sentiment in American right now.

This, in a long list of issues, is why I will never, ever vote Democratic Party again, ever.

Oh Wonderful: The Taliban say no go on negotiations with Nato

So much for that idea: (H/T iammilitary on twitter)

It comes after US commanders and the British army chief of staff, Gen David Richards, suggested that it might be useful to talk to the Taliban.

The Taliban statement is uncompromising, almost contemptuous.

They believe they are winning the war, and cannot see why they should help Nato by talking to them.

They assume, perhaps wrongly, that the Americans are in disarray after the sacking of the Nato commander Gen Stanley McChrystal last week, and regard any suggestion that they should enter negotiations with them as a sign of Nato’s own weakness.

June, they point out, has seen the highest number of Nato deaths in Afghanistan: 102, an average of more than three a day. — Via BBC News – Taliban rule out negotiations with Nato

You know the sick and sad part? They are winning the war. Because it is quite obvious the the United States does not have a damned clue as to how to fight that war over there. You just do not negotiate with terrorists; you kill them. But that is pretty hard to do; when you have a Government over there that is just corrupt as the Taliban themselves. Our President is not helping that either. Best thing that this Government can do, at this point; is to basically withdraw and protect our own. We had the chance to do, what we want to do now, in 2003 — and we blew it. Thanks George W. Bush; you damned idiot. 😡

Go Figure: Democrats say no to Republican visit to the gulf

(H/T JammieWearingFool)

Via Politico:

Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) wanted to fly 10 lawmakers down to the Gulf of Mexico to see the damage caused by BP’s gigantic oil spill first hand.

House Democrats said no.

Scalise’s trip was rejected for a variety of bureaucratic and logistical reasons, but it has also opened a new vein of partisan squabbling over who should be allowed to arrange a trip to view the impact of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Republicans want to be able to take trips using their office spending allowance. But Democrats have heard from the Department of Homeland Security, which has asked that Congress organize trips through committees of jurisdiction, to avoid having to cater to a ton of individual lawmakers in a disaster zone, Democratic aides say. GOP leaders say they’ve heard nothing of this.

The squabbling over who gets to travel to the Gulf on whose dime is the latest sign that congressional oversight of the oil spill oversight from Capitol Hill has been bogged down by partisanship. Congress has held upwards of 20 hearings on the disaster, often duplicative ones each week, as lawmakers struggle to grasp and fully realize the scope of BP’s giant oil spill.

Scalise, who has already been to the Gulf on another codel, wants to organize a trip so lawmakers can fully grasp the impact before they vote on oil drilling regulations. And he doesn’t want to do it through a committee, because the members don’t fit neatly into specific panels — they stretch across committee, and even partisan, lines.

About two weeks ago, Scalise requested to be able to use his Members Representational Allowance – a fund typically reserved for office expenses and travel back to the district – to go to the Gulf with a group of about 10 other lawmakers.

He sought permission from the House Administration committee, which regulates office account spending and would have to approve the trip. After a few weeks, Scalise was ping-ponged between several committees. Eventually, John Lawrence, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) chief of staff, told Scalise’s chief that “it was unlikely that the request would be granted” by the House Administration Committee.

Republicans, however, say Rep. Bob Brady (D-Pa.), who chairs the committee, has approved at least a dozen such trips in 2009 alone – something Democrats don’t deny.

“Unless there is some extraordinary reason to prohibit this trip – which has yet to be communicated to us – this is an unacceptable departure from past practices,” said Rep, Dan Lungren of California, the top Republican on the administration committee. “This is an educational trip for members using their own representational budgets to see, first-hand, the devastating impact of the Gulf spill. Our travel regulations permit this type of travel in support of our official representational duties, and unfortunately, this disaster is already having environmental and economical implications for the entire country – not just those districts represented by Members sitting on the House Energy and Commerce Committee.”

Now could you just imagine, like JammieWearingFool said, if the Republicans had done this to the Democrats after Katrina?

Like I said in the title… Go figure… 🙄

Speaking of stupid minorities

There’s this idiot:

Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan has written the leaders of more than a dozen major U.S. Jewish groups and denominations seeking “repair of my people from the damage” he claims Jews have caused blacks for centuries.

Farrakhan sent the letter along with two books from the Nation of Islam Historical Research Team that the 77-year-old minister said prove “an undeniable record of Jewish Anti-Black behavior,” starting with the slave trade and Jim Crow laws.

“We could charge you with being the most deceitful so-called friend, while your history with us shows you have been our worst enemy,” he wrote.

Farrakhan has long accused Jews of wrongdoing in speeches, but he has rarely addressed Jewish groups so directly in writing.

The Anti-Defamation League, a Jewish civil rights group which distributed copies of the letter, said in a statement Tuesday that Farrakhan’s “anti-Semitism is obsessive, diabolical and unrestrained. He has opened a new chapter in his ministry where scapegoating Jews is not just part of a message, but the message.”

via Nation of Islam leader accuses Jews of ‘anti-black’ behavior, asks for dialogue | Washington Examiner.

Hmmm, I wonder if he knows about this right here?

Look, I am not a overly Zionist person. I support Israel’s right to exist and such; but I am not overly nutty about it; like some. But this is just straight up Anti-Semitic tripe. If this man were any other nationality; he would have been already removed from the public square. But because he is black, he gets a free pass. Kinda like BreitBart.

Why do Conservatives and Libertarians continue to bring up Senator Byrd’s involvement in the Klan?

This is getting to be quite old. The continuing defamation of a dead man.

The cheap shot against Byrd is that he was back in the day an Exalted Cyclops of the Ku Klux Klan and writing letters as late as 1946 that “The Klan is needed today as never before and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia and in every state in the nation.” I consider it a cheap shot because he did apologize for and disown his participation in the group. Better late than never, I suppose, even if it does make you wonder about all those politicians of his generation, even ones from the Deep South, who never felt a need to recruit for the KKK and never prattled on about “white niggers” like some back-country Norman Mailer. —Let’s Not Forget Sen. Byrd’s Negative Legacy – Hit & Run : Reason Magazine

Okay, so why did this reason writer even feel the need to even bring it up? Why? I’ll tell you why. To make a cheap political point; that is not entirely based in factual information. It just so happens that the Democratic Party fought hard in 1964 to get the civil rights bill passed. Yes, Byrd was one of the Southern Democrats who objected to that bill. It also happens to be a fact that Senator Barry Goldwater, a Libertarian Conservative, who also objected to it as well. As did many Conservatives as well.

It also just so happens that Byrd apologized time and time again for his involved in the Klan, From Wikipedia:

When running for the United States House of Representatives in 1952, he announced “After about a year, I became disinterested, quit paying my dues, and dropped my membership in the organization. During the nine years that have followed, I have never been interested in the Klan.” He said he had joined the Klan because he felt it offered excitement and was anti-communist.[10] However, in 1946 or 1947 he wrote a letter to a Grand Wizard stating, “The Klan is needed today as never before and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia and in every state in the nation.”[19]

In 1997, he told an interviewer he would encourage young people to become involved in politics, but to “Be sure you avoid the Ku Klux Klan. Don’t get that albatross around your neck. Once you’ve made that mistake, you inhibit your operations in the political arena.”[20] In his latest autobiography, Byrd explained that he was a member because he “was sorely afflicted with tunnel vision—a jejune and immature outlook—seeing only what I wanted to see because I thought the Klan could provide an outlet for my talents and ambitions.”[21] Byrd also said, in 2005,

I know now I was wrong.
Intolerance had no place in America. I apologized a thousand times …
and I don’t mind apologizing over and over again. I can’t erase what
happened.

For me, that is more than enough of an explanation. Let us also remember that a revered voice on the Conservative/Republican side, Strom Thurmond was also a supporter of Segregation and also reportedly a bitter racist as well.  Besides all that; While I do not condone that actions of the Klan, especially the violence towards blacks. We need to be real about all this; “Celebrating Diversity” is a joke. Just ask this guy here.

I just stand amazed of the tactics of some of the Bloggers who call themselves “Conservative”; how they engage in the tactics of the liberal left of race-bating anyone who disagrees with their dogmatic position on race. Some of them seriously need to come down to reality and realize that their ideas on race are just flat wrong. I also find it amazing that they will attack White people who stood for their own race; but they will condemn a black man in the White House, all the while kissing up to the Zionist element in Jewish Conservative politics.

Some people need to just get real…. 🙄

John Hawkings tells David Frum “Get Bent!”

Now before I report on this one. I have to make the following disclosure; I am in the following Advertising Hives on BlogAds:

BlogAds is a great way to advertise and besides, it helps one of the most important people on this blog… ME! 😉 😀 😛 So, if you’re looking to promote a group, an event or anything else for that matter. I high recommend that you give BlogAds a whirl…

Okay, now that I got that all out of the way. It seems that John Hawkins over at Right Wing News basically told David Frum where to get off and to take short bus to get there:

Ah, I’ve been waiting for this.

You see, I don’t work for Blogads (or Google. Not sure where that came from), but I do indeed run the Blogads Conservative Hive (It’s a great place to buy conservative ads).

In May, someone representing Frum’s blog wrote me (I don’t see the point of dragging his name into it), noted that FrumForum had joined Blogads, and asked to be included in the Hive.

Now, as a general rule, I try to be very open minded about who gets into the Blogads Conservative Hive. If they’re generally friendly to conservatives and seem to have a mostly conservative audience, I don’t mind having them on board. So, aside from conservative blogs, there are Libertarian blogs in the Hive and there are blogs I’d call center-right. It goes without saying that there are plenty of issues where members of the Hive, myself included, don’t see eye-to-eye.

I ca attest to that; I am in the Conservative Hive myself. I do not agree with Hawkings all of the time either. Hell, I was one of the first people that told Hawkings that Chuckie Johnson needed to get the heave ho. But, at the time, he said he wasn’t going to do that. I am quite glad that he reconsidered. But I do still see Chuck Johnson’s Blog Entries in the RSS Feed Ad; for whatever that’s worth.

Hawkings goes to explain the situation and ends with this:

There’s an easy answer to that question: the mainstream media loves “conservatives” and “Republicans” who will trash whomever the Left hates most. So, if you’re willing to talk about how Sarah Palin is a hick, Glenn Beck is a crank, Rush Limbaugh is bad for the country, and the Tea Party is bad for democracy, the mainstream media will reward you  —  and because conservatives pride themselves on being open minded, they’ll all too often give you a pass for your atrocious behavior — especially since the MSM doesn’t insist you play their game all the time. As long as you’re willing to say what they want about the people they hate the most, they’ll reward you with a cover story at Newsweek and then in your off time, you can churn out a few articles to point gullible conservatives towards while you’re trying to guilt them into taking you seriously by crying “epistemic closure!”

This is what David Frum does for a living — and don’t think he doesn’t know it. Even the people who write for him know it. I ran into someone who writes for his blog at an event once. He was extremely defensive about writing for them. I must have heard him tell at least three people, myself included, something akin to, “I write for FrumForum, but please don’t hold that against me.”

Long story short, everybody has to make a living. But, I’m not interested in helping people like Frum play this little game where they try to cripple conservatives publicly while coming around on the back end to milk us for money. If Frum wants to be a dancing monkey for the Left, let them come up with the money to pay for the tune.

Countdown to Frum accusing Hawkings of being an Anti-Semite and this being some sort of plot against the Jooooos by the Conservative right; You know, Debbie Schlussel style…. in 5…..4…..3….2……
