WTF?!?!?!: I am all for being really happy at weddings, but……

This is just a wee bit over the top! 😯

ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — The state-run news agency says a groom has killed his father and two aunts after opening fire into the air with an automatic weapon to celebrate his wedding.

The Anatolia news agency says eight other relatives were injured during Sunday’s celebration in the southeastern province of Gaziantep.

It says the groom lost control of the weapon and accidentally aimed at guests. He was arrested.

Heh…. Could you just see that little picture in your mind? “Yay! My kid is getting married! Bam Bam Bam Bam Bam Bam…wha-wha Whoa! Bam Bam Bam Bam…. OMG! DAD!?!?!?!” 😯 😮

Living proof that dumb people should not own guns. 😀

Senator Lindsey Grahamansty: Jesus made me vote for the Jewish Lesbian

This is just too rich:

The Video:

The Story:

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina said that Jesus’s Golden Rule inspired him to vote to confirm Elena Kagan to the U.S. Supreme Court and suggested it would be a good thing for his Senate colleagues to also ponder Jesus’s words as they prepared to vote on Kagan.

“It is divine in its orientation, and it is probably something that would serve us all well if we thought about it at moments such as this,” Sen. Graham said on the Senate floor, as he pointed his colleagues to the Golden Rule and counseled them to look to the wisdom of “somebody far wiser than I am” as they cast their votes on Kagan.

Stick a fork in this RINO, he’s done!

The quicker that moronic Neo-Conservative RINO is out of office the better!  Sen. Lindsey Graham and Sen. John McCain ought to be gay lovers; because God knows, (heh!) that they are cut from the same tree.

Sen. Lindsey Graham has been in the beltway way too long. It is time for him to get the hell out of dodge.

Remember this come 2010 and 2012.

Quote of the Day

Fox News chief Roger Ailes has a license to carry a firearm in New York City on his person at all times, according to the NYPD’s newly released list of handgun-permit holders. And he’s not alone among his Fox News colleagues: Prime-time shouter Sean Hannity also has a city license to carry a gun.

Both Ailes and Hannity have a “carry business” license from the NYPD, which permits them to carry a concealed weapon wherever they go in the city. It’s illegal in New York City to possess a firearm without a license. The “carry business” permit is the least restrictive one that the city offers.

It doesn’t come as much surprise that Ailes arms himself — a New York Times profile earlier this year reported that he’s received numerous threats over the years and has had an intruder arrested on his property. “A sign outside his house shows an illustration of a gun and advises visitors that it is under video surveillance,” the Times wrote. Hannity’s license has been previously reported, but Ailes doesn’t appear to have sought the permit until recently. A Fox News spokesperson didn’t respond to a request for comment.

Here it is: My official opinion on the New York Mosque that is being built near the 9/11 site

Two Blocks, four blocks, it does not damn matter…

Here is my opinion: (STRONG CONTENT WARNING!)

I saw the above video with the following comment under it:

“And we’re suppose to not think nothing of letting a Mosque to be built near ground zero. These people are really quite arrogant and cruel to us…and they have the gall to say we’re arrogant. The people who suffered because of 9/11 deserve to thought of better than this”

…Let me go on the record as saying….

That I totally and wholeheartedly agree. This is not about religious freedom, nor is it about hating Muslims or Islam. It is about protecting the memories of those who died on September 11, 2001; all 2,976 victims.

United We Stand, divided we fall.

In the name of the God — Do not let this happen.

Update: Memeornadum Thread

Economic report: We are so farking screwed, Obama White House adviser bolts

First the bleak outlook, from the Old Gray Lady:

With the American economic recovery hanging in the balance, private employers added 71,000 jobs in July, up from a downwardly revised 31,000 in June but well below the consensus forecast of 90,000. The unemployment rate stayed steady at 9.5 percent.

Over all, the nation lost 131,000 jobs last month, but those losses came as 143,000 Census Bureau workers left their temporary posts, the Labor Department said. June’s number was revised dramatically downward to a total loss of 221,000 jobs. The agency originally reported that the nation lost 125,000 jobs in June.

Figures released last week confirmed that the United States economy slowed in the spring, and the Department of Labor’s monthly statistical snapshot of hiring pointed toward a stall in hiring this summer, as employers failed to add jobs at the rate they were earlier this year.

What’s more, the number of jobs added in July is about half the 125,000 to 150,000 that economists generally say employers need to generate simply to accommodate new entrants to the labor market. With more than 8 million people having lost their jobs during the recession, such tepid job growth can’t begin to plug the hole.

“The private sector is still hobbled and certainly is not nearly strong enough to overcome the drain on the government side,” said Robert A. Dye, senior economist at PNC Financial Services Group in Pittsburgh.

Which, of course, results in the proverbial “Rats Jumping from the ship.”

The Story Via Hotline on Call:

Christina Romer, chairwoman of Pres. Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers, has decided to resign, according to a source familiar with her plans.

Romer, an economics professor at the University of California (Berkeley) before taking the key admin post, did not respond to repeated calls to her office.

“She has been frustrated,” a source with insight into the WH economics team said. “She doesn’t feel that she has a direct line to the president. She would be giving different advice than Larry Summers [director of the National Economic Council], who does have a direct line to the president.”

[…]

Instead, the jobless rate is 9.5%, after exceeding 10% last year. It was “a horribly inaccurate forecast,” said Bert Ely, a banking consultant. “You have to wonder why Summers isn’t the one that should be taking the fall. But Larry is a pretty good bureaucratic infighter.

So much for all the wonderful economic recovery promised under the promised “Hope and Change” of the Barack Obama Administration.  This should be a textbook example of why “Tax and Spend” strategies to get a Country out of a recession does not work. If that does not convince you, this might:

Fatty this

There are times when I utter detest being a blogger and being connected to this hyper-social media world of Facebook, Twitter and all of the other idiotic nonsense needed to promote my writing prose and my ability to expound on politics and such.  Because one can do something simple and small and before one knows it, it is amplified to the point of being a huge controversy.  In other words, social media has the uncanny ability to make a mountain out of a molehill.

Another reason why I have grown to detest this entire social media experience is that it has forced us to become very dependent upon it.  If you think I am wrong about that, just allow Twitter, Facebook or any of the other popular social media sites to go down due to a technical glitch.  The way most of the users of these services act when they go down; one would have thought that someone poisoned the Nation’s food supply or something.  I am not pointing the finger at others and absolving myself of blame — not at all.  I am one of the guilty parties!  Dependence on electronic devices and mediums scares the living pants off me.  When I was growing up, computers were seen as a novelty; now they are an integral part of our lives.  Social media has taken that dependency to another more frightening level.  No, I am not ready to dig out my bunker just yet.  However, the level dependency on social media makes me wonder if there ever was large disaster that hit the United States, and everything was knocked out; power, internet — everything.  What would we all do? I mean no twitter, no facebook, and no internet.  It is truly enough to make someone scream!  (Not to mention, just a wee bit paranoid…)

OK.  I wrote all that fancy sounding literary willy-nilly up there to get to a point. A young man by the name of Andy Baio wrote a very nice script for that is used in Firefox, which is an open source web browser — which works quite well by the way.  Anyhow, the script suddenly stopped working.  Which naturally produced one of those, “ZOMG! HALP! IT DON’T WORK! ELEVENTY!!1!”—- sort of moments with me.  Here again, this is more of that dependence on electronic gizmos, and internet.  The script takes a site called “Memeornadum”, which is a site that scans news sites and also scans blogs for reactions to those news stories — and colors the blog reactions according to, supposedly, their political leanings — Red for Conservative and Blue for liberal. Now, does my life depend on this little script?  No.  Will my existence as a normal breathing human being cease if this script is not updated?  No.  However, it is God-awfully nice to have!  It is very nice to be able to glance at Memeornadum, and see a story and see which side is reacting to which story and how they are reacting.  Without having to think, “Okay, this guy is a liberal, and this guy is a Conservative…”  The script does all that for you. Again, more of that dependence and brain drain that I keep hearing about.

As for my defense as to why I jumped on Andy Baio.  I have but one defense.  One, I am a hard ass okay?  I did not serve in the military; I was just too damned dumb.  I dropped out in the 11’th grade.  I have A.D.H.D.; my math skills are, frankly, shitty.  I did however; enroll in the school of hard knocks or as I like to call it; the school hard knocks and bloody knuckles.  Two, I am a political blogger and often times; I make the stupid mistake of looking at everything through the prism of damned politics. It is a personal flaw of mine.

I just assumed, when I did not see an updated script by Andy Baio, within a day; that he might have thought, “That guy is a right winger, I am not helping him.”  Yes, I jumped the gun.  Yes, I was wrong.  There, are you narcissistic bastards happy now?  Happy to see a man, who is just struggling to get by with about twenty bucks in his damned back account, fall to his knees, and lick the damned curb?  Is that what you fucking want from me? Please, you all are not worth all of that.  I am man enough to admit when I screw up, but I will be damned if I will ever kiss anyone’s ass.  I have not kissed anyone’s ass in the 38 years, that I have been on this planet, and I am not about to start now.

Furthermore, to address the comments made on twitter about me being a “Fatty.”  First, how fucking 8’th grade playground-like can you guys be?  I mean, seriously. I have but one reply, which I did say on twitter — Come say that crap to my face.  I can guarantee you this; you would not walk away, maybe on a stretcher, when I was done kicking your ass.  That is the “threats” referred to by Andy Baio.  To be clear, Andy never called me “Fatty” or anything else.  So, this is not directed at him, at all.  It is directed at the “keyboard commandos,” who talk a good game of bullshit behind a keyboard. However, face to face, they do not have much to say.

Therefore, there it is — my side of the damned story — the first and last thing that I ever want to say about the said subject.  I am turning off the comments and pingbacks on this posting.  Because frankly, I have better things to do than respond to stupidity like this.

Thursday Mental Health Break: The Video Website

Now this is very freaking bizarre. This video below, is a send up, of this movie trailer here. The funny thing is; they both look so very real. 😯 Anyhow, one is actual movie about the creators of Facebook. The send up, is about YouTube. One is real, the other — about YouTube  — is a parody.

Folks, I am 38 years old. I have seen the future; and it is very strange. 😀

Senate confirms first Jewish Lesbian to SCOTUS

Another activist Liberal makes it to the SCOTUS:

The Senate has confirmed Elena Kagan, President Barack Obama’s solicitor general, as the newest Supreme Court justice.

Kagan, the former dean of Harvard Law School, replaces retiring Justice John Paul Stevens and becomes the fourth woman to serve on the court in its 121-year history. The vote confirming Kagan, who also served in the Clinton administration, was largely along party lines, with just a handful of Republicans voting with Democrats to confirm her – and one Democrat, Senator Ben Nelson (D-Neb.), voting no. She is expected to join the court when it reconvenes after its summer recess

via Senate confirms Kagan – Josh Gerstein – POLITICO.com.

I figured that this would end up happening. This is just proof that elections matter. When you vote for a personality, without checking into his background thoroughly; this is what you get.

Remember this come 2010 and 2012 folks.

UPDATED: Perfect Example of when Big Government is BAD Government

This is absolutely unreal:

It’s hardly unusual to hear small-business owners gripe about licensing requirements or complain that heavy-handed regulations are driving them into the red.

So when Multnomah County shut down an enterprise last week for operating without a license, you might just sigh and say, there they go again.

Except this entrepreneur was a 7-year-old named Julie Murphy. Her business was a lemonade stand at the Last Thursday monthly art fair in Northeast Portland. The government regulation she violated? Failing to get a $120 temporary restaurant license.

Turns out that kids’ lemonade stands — those constants of summertime — are supposed to get a permit in Oregon, particularly at big events that happen to be patrolled regularly by county health inspectors.

“I understand the reason behind what they’re doing and it’s a neighborhood event, and they’re trying to generate revenue,” said Jon Kawaguchi, environmental health supervisor for the Multnomah County Health Department. “But we still need to put the public’s health first.

via Portland lemonade stand runs into health inspectors, needs $120 license to operate | OregonLive.com.

I got a better idea, how about when they make a new pitcher; they give the first damned glass to Jon Kawaguchi and if he drops dead, which would be such a good thing, — they make a new pitcher. But, if not, they sell the damn Lemonade. This nothing more than big Government socialism taxing someone who actually wants to have a small business of their own. All dressed up in the disguise of “We have to look out for the people!”

Another example if why I will never, ever, vote liberal or democratic party, ever again.

BREAKING NEWS: 14 Charged with Aiding Terrorists in Minnesota, California and Alabama

This is some big breaking news:

Via Washington Post:

Federal indictments unsealed Thursday in Minnesota, Alabama and California charge 14 people with terrorism offenses for allegedly aiding the radical Islamist al-Shabab organization in Somalia.

In announcing the indictments, Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. said the charges reflect a disturbing trend in which al-Shabab, which has links to Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaeda terrorist network, has appealed to U.S. citizens of Somali descent to join the group’s battle against a weak U.S.-backed transitional government and African Union peacekeeping forces in Somalia.

Holder said there was no direct evidence that al-Shabab is threatening the United States, although a terrorist attack last month in Uganda “gives us pause.” Al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the attack, in which dozens of civilians were killed in coordinated bombings at two locations in the Ugandan capital, Kampala. Among the victims was an American aid worker from Delaware.

Some Conservatives are being a bit harsh on Obama about this one. I will not do that. Kudos to the Justice Department for busting this ring. Hopefully they are charged and spend some good time behind bars.

WHOA: Audio: Liberal Talkers unload on President Obama

(This comes via The Radio Equalizer with a H/T to Gateway Pundit)

Gateway Pundit says, “Dixiecrat Alert!” Which is kinda funny. But that is not what this is; well, first off, if a white Conservative had said all that. The Democrats and the liberal talkers  would be swinging from the trees — so to speak — in indignation. That person would be also decried as a racist bigot too.  Anyhow, that is not what this is; what you just heard, was the black liberal base griping and complaining, because the President is not kissing up to these people. For what is is worth; this same thing happened in the era of Bill Clinton. Does anyone remember the “sister soulja moment?” Well, this could be called the “Brother Barry Moment.”

What these people are getting a painful lesson in, is this; these people are getting a painful lesson in what happens when you elect an activist President and try to use him for influence peddling. These people thought that they would elect this man and be use the office the President of the United States as their ally in the White House for their pet causes. Well, cold and wet towel to the face for these people; it worked — to a point. They got their man in there, but he has proven himself to be his own person and not influenced by anyone, except his own agenda. This happens all the time. George W. Bush did it to an extent; there were people on the Conservative side that wanted to influence peddle him as well. George W. Bush ended up doing the same thing to those people, and they ended up getting on radio and whining about it. I heard some of it. This also happened to a larger extent with Ronald Reagan’s Presidency as well. There were people on the far-far right who thought than Ronald Reagan was going to be a Christian Conservative activist President.

Well, needless to say, that never happened. We still have abortion in this Country and we still do not have, nor will we EVER have Prayer back in school. That is because this sort of activism does not work in the White House. The President of the United States only has so much power and can only do so much. That is why there is three branches of Government; Legislative, Executive, and Legislative —- and each are limited in scope and each checks the other. It keeps from the other branches from getting out of control. —- or at least that is how it is supposed to work.

This is, simple, high school level, Government class stuff. I am quite shocked that the Liberals do not seem to understand it. Of course, truth be told, most people on the left, especially the far-far-socialist left; wants a communist dictatorship. They will never admit that, but it is what they want.

A few words about yesterday’s primary race here in Michigan

Obviously I am not happy about Mike Bouchard not winning the primary.

However, I do understand why it is that Mike Bouchard was not able to pull off a victory. Well, frankly, it was this:

Governor Republican
Rick Snyder                                  380,489        36%
Pete Hoekstra                              280,326        27%
Mike Cox                                       239,752         23%
Mike Bouchard                          126,991           12%
Tom George                                16,965               2%
100% reporting

(Via WXYZ-TV)

There we just too many people running on the Republican ticket. As you can see above, there were five names on the ballot for Republicans; there were two on the Democratic Party side. If it had been Tom George and Mike Bouchard; Bouchard would have aced the race. But because you had three big ticket names in the race and one person that I had never heard of; Bouchard just was not able to pull it off.

Seeing that Bouchard is out of the race, I will support and do endorse Rick Snyder for Governor of Michigan.

In other news locally here in Michigan; there was a HUGE upset in the race for Congress. Hansen Clarke, who grew up on Detroit’s lower east side, has soundly defeated Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick. WXYZ-TV has the videos and the story:

(WXYZ) – Hansen Clarke has won the Democratic nomination in the 13th Congressional District.

Clarke’s victory is an upset over sitting Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick. Many political analysts believe the legal troubles of the congresswoman’s son, former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, contributed to her loss.

Because of the nature of the district, the nomination is viewed as an automatic path to the Congressional seat.

Okay, the whole “power to the people” thing was a bit creepy. But that is to be expected amongst Democrats; as the Democratic Party was founded as the “Party of the people.” Anyhow, even as a “Right of Center” blogger, I, as someone who has lived here all my life, watching Kilpatrick having to eat crow, is one of the best things I have ever seen. The really cool part is, Kilpatrick cannot scream “Race!” at all. The man who beat her was a minority too. The truth is, Kilpatrick screwed herself, when she said, “I’m proud of my son, very proud…” I mean, that just sealed it for her. She is proud of a corrupt man? Not that anyone actually believes that; but in politics perception is a big of reality. Heck, just look at Ron Paul and Pat Buchanan. There are some on the right that cannot look at those two, without going into a Tourette’s Syndrome-type fit and screaming “Jew Hater! Anti-Semite! Racist!”

I just am hoping and Praying that the Republicans can pull off a nice victory in November. The climate is right; we just need to get the message right and not louse it up.

It is time to vote in the Michigan Primaries

I should have posted this earlier. But, I was busy.

I voted in today’s primary. I voted for Mike Bouchard for Governor of the State of Michigan.

I ask that if you live in Michigan and you are registered to vote, that you do so. When you vote, vote for Mike Bouchard.

A little about Mike Bouchard:

Born and raised in Michigan, Mike Bouchard has been committed to improving our state. Growing up in Oakland County, he attended Birmingham Brother Rice high school. He and Pam, his wife of twenty years, are teaching the same Michigan values they learned growing up to their three kids. From police officer to small business owner to elected office, Mike has taken on many different roles in his efforts to preserve and protect our way of life.

Bouchard FamilyMike brings all his experience, knowledge and leadership to the race for Governor. He understands it’s a critical time for the state, as many families face uncertain times as our economy continues to struggle. As governor, he’ll be prepared on day one to start making the tough choices that will turn our state around. He knows it took a long time to get here, so there are no easy fixes or simple solutions. But we need to take the first steps in order to get us back on the road to prosperity.
Mike believes if we fix Lansing, we’ll get Michigan back to work.

He’ll be able to bring his knowledge from serving as a leader in the state Senate to develop lasting solutions. He was in the Senate when our leaders worked together to deliver balanced budgets and tax cuts every year he was there. As Assistant Senate Majority Leader, he worked closely with leaders like Governor Engler and then Senate Majority Leader Posthumus. Mike placed a priority on helping families. He pushed for the Michigan Sex Offender Registry requiring sex offenders to register with local law enforcement agencies and making that information publicly available for concerned parents and neighbors. He also chaired the education committee where he worked to empower parents and students to make more decisions about their future.

Go read the rest of that. Mike’s a proven leader, that knows how to get things done. Just we need for Michigan and for jobs to be returned to this area. I supported Mike Bouchard since day one and I do truly hope that he does win this primary.

Check out Mike Bouchard for Republican  Governor of the State of Michigan.

Sarah Palin Quote of the Day

Now this is quite interesting to see:

We are awash in crises right now — crises that require smart and creative policy fixes. So why is somebody who so rarely deals in policy fixes so popular? It’s because Palin’s message operates on a level deeper than policy statements about the economy or financial reform or health care or the war in Afghanistan…

It’s not Palin’s positions people respond to — it’s her use of symbols. Mama grizzlies rearing up to protect their young? That’s straight out of Jung’s “collective unconscious” — the term Jung used to describe the part of the unconscious mind that, unlike the personal unconscious, is shared by all human beings, made up of archetypes, or, in Jung’s words, “universal images that have existed since the remotest times.” Unlike personal experiences, these archetypes are inherited, not acquired. They are “inborn forms… of perception and apprehension,” the “deposits of the constantly repeated experiences of humanity.”

This is the realm Palin is working in — I’m sure unintentionally — and it’s why she has connected so deeply with a large segment of the public. In fact, her evocation of mama grizzlies has a particularly resonant history in the collective unconscious. According to the Jungian Archive for Research in Archetypal Symbolism, “The bear has long fascinated mankind, partly because of its habit of hibernation, which may have served as a model of death and rebirth in human societies.”

…and who might be making that sort of a statement, this early in the game? No other than Arianna Huffington. Now AllahPundit says that its because she’s a hyper-partisan. But I suspect something a bit more. I suspect the liberals know that the man that they put in there is, like Jimmy Carter, has been, so far, is horrible failure. Also too; I read the article, and from what I was able to get out of it, the liberal Democrats are scared to death. They are worried because they know that they have no one to run against Obama in 2012.

Hillary you say? Forget it. Clinton’s defeat in 2008 was a wake up call for her. She’s basically finished with politics, once her term is up as Secretary of State; she is out of the political arena for good. I expect the Clinton’s will basically slip off into retirement and only come out once in a blue moon to support some candidate. I have it on good authority that the Clintons are not very happy with the new direction of the Democratic Party at all.

So, basically, what you are seeing here is a classic repeat of what happened in 2000 and 2004; and that is panic among the Liberal Democratic Party elite. Also too, it is a sounding of the alarm to try and make Palin look like a buffoon as much as possible. Which might work, although, I somehow think that the Liberal media is not really wanted to play anymore “Insider games.” With the Journalist scandal still being talked about in the Blogosphere and Conservatives being aware that the liberals were actually colluding together to shape a narrative. Liberal Media types might not be willing to play that game again. That again, is reason for panic among the liberal elite.

Which is basically a good reason to point out, that when you overreach into the media and you collude with others to bring someone down or push a narrative; and you get caught, you should not expect those players involved to want to do it again for you, ever. The sick and sad thing is, that the liberals never learn their lesson. They do this silly stuff over and over and over. Which is why the Republican Party easily trounces them in the elections.

Does this mean that President Obama is racist too?

(H/T to The Other McCain for this nice catch)

This is just too good. When corrupt black Democrats get caught with their hands on the hog jowls plate in the cookie jar, they use the one thing, that they have left in their arsenal:

Last tool in the bag for Democrats!

Via Politico:

The question of whether black lawmakers are now being singled out for scrutiny has been simmering throughout the 111th Congress, with the Office of Congressional Ethics a focal point of the concerns. At one point earlier this year, all eight lawmakers under formal investigation by the House ethics committee, including Rangel and Waters, were black Democrats. All those investigations originated with the OCE, which can make recommendations — but take no final actions — on such cases.

There’s a “dual standard, one for most members and one for African-Americans,” said one member of the Congressional Black Caucus, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The member said it’s too easy for an outside group to damage someone’s reputation by filing a claim with OCE.

“This is stacked against you once an accusation is made,” the lawmaker added. “You’re guilty until proven otherwise.”

Um, does this mean that President Obama is a racist too, against his own people?

Here’s the problem with that whole accusation:

The racism charge, though, was rejected by Melanie Sloan, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, an ethics watchdog group, even as she acknowledged the current situation is bound to anger black lawmakers.

“There are ethics problems within the CBC,” she said. “They have to acknowledge that.”

Sloan noted that several white lawmakers, including Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) and Rep. Pete Visclosky (D-Ind.), are currently under investigation by federal and congressional investigators. Ensign is being investigated by the Senate Ethics Committee and the Justice Department over the fallout from an extramarital affair he had with the wife of a top aide, while Visclosky and his former chief of staff are being probed over their ties to a now-defunct lobbying firm raided by the feds last year.

Two other white lawmakers, Reps. Eric Massa (D-N.Y.) and Mark Souder (R-Ind.), resigned this year under ethical clouds. Massa left Congress after POLITICO reported he was under investigation by the ethics committee for sexually harassing male staffers, while Sounder quickly departed after admitting a long-running extramartial affair with a part-time aide. The findings from the Massa investigation have yet to be released by the ethics panel, although Massa is no longer within their jurisdiction.

So much for the fact that the ethics committee targeting the blacks in Congress!

This just shows you the mindset of the Liberal blacks in America today. They somehow believe that they are somehow entitled to break the law, because of the fact that white people kept them as salves over 300 years ago. This is a classic case liberal identity politics at its finest; and before anyone says that I am some sort of a racist for pointing this out. Save your breath, it is NOT racist of ME or anyone else to point out that the black liberals seem to believe that their black skin and their history entitles them to break the law. Further more, it is not racist of me to observe that these liberal black law breaking thugs want to weasel out of corruption charges using the oldest trick in the liberal book —- race baiting.

So much for post-racial America, aye Mr. President? 🙄

I must say that I agree with both of these

First off a former editor with the National Review speaks out of the current state of Conservatism:

Once, the iconic figures on the political right were urbane visionaries and builders of institutions — like William F. Buckley Jr., Irving Kristol and Father Richard John Neuhaus, all dead now. Today, far more representative is potty-mouthed Internet entrepreneur Andrew Breitbart, whose news and opinion website, Breitbart.com, is read by millions. In his most recent triumph, Breitbart got a U.S. Department of Agriculture official pushed out of her job after he released a deceptively edited video clip of her supposedly endorsing racism against white people.

What has become of conservatism? We have reached a point at which nothing could be more important than to stop and recall what brought us here, to the right, in the first place.

Buckley’s National Review, where I was the literary editor through the 1990s, remains as vital and interesting as ever. But more characteristic of conservative leadership are figures on TV, radio and the Internet who make their money by stirring fears and resentments. With its descent to baiting blacks, Mexicans and Muslims, its accommodation of conspiracy theories and an increasing nastiness and vulgarity, the conservative movement has undergone a shift toward demagoguery and hucksterism. Once the talk was of “neocons” versus “paleocons.” Now we observe the rule of the crazy-cons.

I highly suggest that you go read the rest of that. I know that this might get me pegged as some sort of a faux right winger or whatever. I have but one thing to say about that —- ask me if I honestly give two flips. The answer would be no.

Professor BainBridge sets it out even more:

  1. A poorly educated ex-sportwriter who served half of one term of an minor state governorship is prominently featured as a — if not the — leading prospect for the GOP’s 2012 Presidential nomination.
  2. Tom Tancredo calling President Obama “the greatest threat to the United States today” and arguing that he be impeached. Bad public policy is not a high crime nor a misdemeanor, and the casual assertion that pursuing liberal policies–however misguided–is an impeachable offense is just nuts.
  3. Similar nonsense from former Ford-Reagan treasury department officials Ernest Christian and Gary Robbins, who IBD column was, as Doug Marconis observed, “a wildly exaggerated attack on President Obama’s record in office.” Actually, it’s more foaming at the mouth.
  4. As Doug also observed, “The GOP controlled Congress from 1994 to 2006: Combine neocon warfare spending with entitlements, farm subsidies, education, water projects and you end up with a GOP welfare/warfare state driving the federal spending machine.” Indeed, “when the GOP took control of Congress in 1994, and the White House in 2000, the desire to use the levers of power to create “compassionate conservatism” won our over any semblance of fiscal conservatism. Instead of tax cuts and spending cuts, we got tax cuts along with a trillion dollar entitlement program, a massive expansion of the Federal Government’s role in education, and two wars. That’s not fiscal conservatism it is, as others have said, fiscal insanity.” Yet, today’s GOP still has not articulated a message of real fiscal conservatism.
  5. Thanks to the Tea Party, the Nevada GOP has probably pissed away a historic chance to out=st Harry Reid. See also Charlie Crist in Florida, Rand Paul in Kentucky, and so on. Whatever happened to not letting perfection be the enemy of the good?
  6. The anti-science and anti-intellectualism that pervade the movement.
  7. Trying to pretend Afghanistan is Obama’s war.
  8. Birthers.
  9. Nativists.
  10. The substitution of mouth-foaming, spittle-blasting, rabble-rousing talk radio for reasoned debate. Michael Savage, Glenn Beck, Hugh Hewitt, and even Rush Limbaugh are not exactly putting on Firing Line. Whatever happened to smart, well-read, articulate leaders like Buckley, Neuhaus, Kirk, Jack Kent, Goldwater, and, yes, even Ronald Reagan?

As someone who grew during the Ronald Reagan era and respects THAT kind of Conservatism and NOT this idiotic crap that being passed off as Conservatism today; I heartily agree with all of the above. The only thing that Mr. BainBridge missed, is the racism and bigotry towards the Arabs, that has been prevalent in the Right Wing Blogosphere as of late.

Update: A perfect example of the warped mindset of the far-right. “Da Tech Guy’s Blog” writes:

…I guess we will have to win without him, won’t we?

Which is exactly my point; pandering to racial fears of black people and Arabs just does not win elections at all. This is especially true among independents — like me.  I mean, I grew up in southwest Detroit (proper, not the “Whitey Tighty Suburbs….) and I find this narrative of “Them dirty socialist niggers and crazy rag heads are going to kill us, our wives and eat our children!! ELEVENTY!1!!” to be absolutely vomit provoking at times. I mean, I am not one to jump on the Al Sharpton bandwagon and wave the race flag and play that card. But, sometimes it is just unavoidable. I mean, when you have people calling Dearborn, Michigan “Dearbornstain“, then something is very wrong on the right and that “something wrong” is just straight up bigotry.

Do not misunderstand me; yes, I know black racism does exist, believe you me. I know it does, I have experienced it myself. I was “let go” or as they called it, “laid off” from a job, because of a black boss who had a grudge against white people. However, what I do not do and will never, ever do, is use that fact as an excuse to smear all blacks as bigoted against whites. Nor will I accuse ALL Arabs of being terrorists, which is what many blogs on the right are now doing. Because that is a liberal line of thought called collectivism; and it is a flawed mindset.

In closing, a little while back, I wrote this:

The real sick and sadistic part of this whole mess is this.  A little while back, the controversial Louis Farrakhan said that Jews have caused damage to blacks for years.  At the time, I thought that to be an outrageous statement, not to mention Anti-Semitic; now it seems that the people like Andrew Breitbart and many others on the right are trying their damnedest to prove Farrakhan right.  I think we as a whole, on the right, need to work on that little image very quick.  Because frankly at this point, we are giving people like Farrakhan and the many people on the left, that think like him; black, White, Latino, and whatever else, the talking point they need to further that “gospel” of hatred.

I feel that way then and I still do. Andrew Breitbart is Jewish, Pamela Geller is Jewish, Debbie Schlussel is too Jewish; what do these three have in common? They all are in the business of smearing Arabs, and I do mean ALL Arabs as Terrorists and are constantly writing stories on their blogs, which are filled to the brim with nuanced bigotry towards blacks and Arabs.

Until we fix that little problem; Conservatives will be where they are now —- on the sidelines.

Help Push Day by Day off the cliff!

Well, not really… 😉 😀 😛

Chris Muir puts out Day by Day daily, even on Sundays. Basically he does it thanks to generosity of a bunch of people who have much more money than me.

Anyways, he is having his yearly fund raiser to keep the lights on. So, head over and buy some stuff and stick a donation in the can. Nothing I cannot stand worse than to see a grown man cry; so, get on over there and put a buck or two in his jar. In fact, put two in, one for yourself, and one in my name. I would, but crap is tight here at the moment.

Anyhow, I run Day by Day here in my right column, it’s a great tune. I have been reading Day by Day since I was a half assed left of center type. I found it to be incredibly funny and quite interesting; not to mention, it is very well drawn too. Muir knows his chops and it shows.

In fact, here’s today’s Sunday Full feature cartoon:

Just a little FYI… Muir did me a big favor once when I was in a bad spot. I owe him big time for that. So, in that Spirit, help the dude out, okay?

Thanks,

Oh Dear Lord. 🙄

Can you say tone-deaf? 😯

Andrew Breitbart, the man who helped get Shirley Sherrod fired from the Department of Agriculture, will be among the voices tea party leaders rely on to reach out to minorities at a special rally in Philadelphia today. “Uni-Tea” kicks off this afternoon with speeches from several prominent African American conservatives as well as the trouble-making founder of Breitbart.com and BigGovernment.

Event co-organizer Jeffrey Weingarten, a tea partier from Morristown, NJ, told TPM yesterday he expects the event to draw crowds of multi-ethnic faces not generally seen at normal tea party events. The goal of the rally is to show off the movement’s diversity on stage while drawing demographics not usually associated with the tea party into the movement.

Unbelievable. Just un-farking-believable
