An Ann Arbor elementary school principal used a letter home to parents tonight to defend a field trip for black students as part of his schoolās efforts to close the achievement gap between white and black students.
Dicken Elementary School Principal Mike Madison wrote the letter to parents following several days of controversy at the school after a field trip last week in which black students got to hear a rocket scientist.
āIn hindsight, this field trip could have been approached and arranged in a better way,” Madison wrote. “But as I reflect upon the look of excitement, enthusiasm and energy that I saw in these childrenās eyes as they stood in the presence of a renowned African American rocket scientist in a very successful position, it gave the kids an opportunity to see this type of achievement is possible for even them.
āIt was not a wasted venture for I know one day they might want to aspire to be the first astronaut or scientist standing on the Planet Mars.
āI also think itās important that you know that I have talked to the children who did not go on the field trip, and I think they have a better understanding of the purpose of the AA Lunch Bunch now, as I hope you do. Iām sorry if any kids were upset by the field trip or my discussion afterwards with them, and I have let them know that.
āThe intent of our field trip was not to segregate or exclude students as has been reported, but rather to address the societal issues, roadblocks and challenges that our African American children will face as they pursue a successful academic education here in our community.ā
A handful of parents have complained to district administrators about the trip, the group and Madison. More than a half-dozen parents contacted AnnArbor.com to raise the complaints, but none would agree to talk on the record, citing concerns of reprisals to their children by Madison.
[…]
District spokeswoman Liz Margolis said after the trip was over, those who went returned to their fifth-grade class and were greeted by boos by those who didnāt go on the trip. Margolis said Madison, who is black, heard the boos, and went to talk to the class. She said he and the class had a ādiscussionā about race issues.
āHe wasnāt yelling at them. He was very passionate about it,ā Margolis said.
Parents have complained he was yelling at the class and belittled a Muslim girl who said she also had experienced racism and discrimination.
OnĀ January 14, 1963 Alabama Governor George Wallace, a Democrat; said the following:
“In the name of the greatest people that have ever trod this earth, I draw the line in the dust and toss the gauntlet before the feet of tyranny, and I say segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever.”
Democrats have not changed that mindset one iota. Except now, the only people being discriminated or segregated are the White people. This whole idiotic idea that we have to “Celebrate Diversity”, basically means “Be ashamed of your White Skin.” It is the mantra and talking point of the far socialist black liberal Democrat Party. It is the mindset of most blacks, especially Liberal Blacks that those evil White Capitalists are out to oppress the Black man; and to atone for that, blacks must be given special privileges and must be given jobs, ahead of the White Man. (like me, for instance…)
That is what I have to deal with here in the great Liberal State of Michigan. It is no wonder that Michigan went to Obama and McCain left early. McCain was no dummy, he knew what he was doing.
Obviously, that separation of church and state rule only applies to Christianity.
Praising their demagogue Obama is OK.
The kids are saying:
For I, am an Obama scholar.
An Obama scholar.
And I will strive to be.
Outstanding. Brilliant.
I will achieve. I will be motivated with a positive attitude.
Quick quiz: name five countries, past or present, where the youths were required to chant praises to their omnipotent ruler? Any five. Then add together the number of innocentpeople those regimes slaughtered for political expediency.
When I first started watching this video I was impressed with the positive message, that is until the Adult Directed the Students to Chant “I am an Obama Scholar”. That is what we call Brain Washing.
Before all of the Haters leave their Comment remember this, Would it still be OK if the Kids were Chanting “I am a Regan, Bush or Clinton Scholar? …Um No…
Indoctrination of children in schools is really nothing new, especially since Obama has been elected. Liberal teachers canāt contain themselves, I guess.
[…]
And what kind of scholar is Barack Obama, exactly? The kind that doesnāt exactly move a mountain of drugs away, thatās for sure ā he admitted doing cocaine. Heās the kind of scholar who thought that there were 57 states during the 2008 election. The kind of scholar who canāt understand why we canāt just plug the damn hole to stop an oil spill. The kind of scholar who spends all of his time on the golf course instead of displaying any kind of real leadership.
Oh well. Chanting songs of allegiance to leaders is nothing new, I guess. Itās just new to us ignorant rubes here in the United States who actually love freedom and democracy.
I might be wrong, but, did not Hitler force kids in Germany to chant slogans? Did they also do that in Communist Russia?
I don’t know about you all; but this whole idea of a black liberal President just got a whole bunch more scarier to me. I mean, we have oil gushing out of a busted well in the gulf and they are STILL praising him, like he is some sort of a Messiah!
When will the American people wake and realize that they have been duped? It is beginning to happen; but still you have this sort of nonsense. It is trouble unbelievable.
The 2010 elections and the 2012 elections cannot come soon enough. I just hope and pray that the GOP does not screw it up; like they did in 2008.
I am a little late to the trough on this one. But I figured it did deserve a few lines of my support.
As some of you might know, PayPal has sent Pamela Geller a threat, that if she did not remove their badges from her blogs, that they would close her account. Well, that will never do. This flies into my libertarian radar; what I mean is this — Freedom of Speech is Freedom Speech is Freedom of Speech. I do not care if it is Pamela Geller, David Duke, or Fred Phelps of “God Hates Fags” fame. The point is that the first amendment applies to everyone, including Pamela Geller and her quest against those who wish to convert American into an Islamic Country. Which is, by the way, something that I personally happen to support.
So, having said that, Last night, I actually closed my PayPal account, that I have owned since the late 1990’s. At first, I thought of ignoring Pamela’s plight. I figured, “Eh, Sling Poo, attract flies…”. Then it dawned on me, I’ve slung my fair share of poo around myself and I have also paid a price for it. Now, do I think Pamela would return the favor? No, I don’t. But there is a Bible verse, you know, that thing that God actually wrote? Anyhow, A Bible verse that comes to mind, these are the actual Words of the Lord Jesus Christ, That would be God’s Son:
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. (Luke 6:31 – King James Version)
….and So, that is why I did it. Until PayPal backs down. I will not be doing business with them, at all. I now use Gpay for all donations here.
Sometimes have you have to stand, for what you feel is right. So, here I stand. š
GREENSBORO, N.C. – A protest in Greensboro turned violent Tuesday when a former candidate for Congress and NC Senate was punched in the face.
Nathan Tabor, a business owner and head of the Forsyth County Republican Party and a former candidate for public office, says he and 25 other people were protesting government bailouts in front of Rep. Mel Watt’s (D-N.C.) Greensboro office on Tuesday.
“We were just there to do our constitutional right to have a peaceful protest.” Tabor said.
Tabor says they were protesting a proposed amendment that would give companies money to help with rising credit card fees. He says he was videotaping the event when Govenor Spencer, of Greensboro, approached the protest.
“About that time a gentleman walks around the corner and walks into the middle of the crowd saying it’s all George W. Bush’s fault. It’s all Dick Cheney’s fault.” Tabor said.
The video shows Spencer and at least one protester arguing. Tabor says he stopped recording as the protest began to conclude and walked over to the sidewalk where his wife and 5-year-old daughter were standing.
“As I walked around the corner this gentleman pushed me. And when he pushed me the first time I turned my camera on and brought my camera up. I said please don’t push me. And when I said that he slapped my camera.” Tabor said. “He pushes me again. In the video you can see my body fall back. And I did not say anything to him, I didn’t engage him. I was going to, until he touched me wife.”
Tabor says Spencer pushed his wife and he pushed Spencer back. The video shows Spencer then punching Tabor in the face.
In the video, Spencer is seen telling Tabor that he hit him because Tabor pushed him. Spencer denies hitting Tabor’s wife. Both men have filed assault charges against each other.
Spencer referred FOX8 to his attorney Joe Williams, who said: “We are going to deal with this in the courtroom. Mr. Tabor is going to find out that being wealthy doesn’t make a difference in a courtroom.”
I do not know about you; but this proves what I have believed all along. That you can be black and be socialist or at least a supporter of President Barack Hussein Obama and comment physical violence against white people —- and not a God-Damned thing will happen to you. I did not see ANY police officers rush to arrest that thug; did you? No. So, that tells me all I need to know.

Also, remember this video come 2010 and 2o12; and vote accordingly.
Iran says Wednesdayās Security Council decision to impose further sanctions on Tehran is worthless, stressing that it will not be abandoning its nuclear program.
The UN resolution āis worthless for the Iranian people,ā President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said following the vote.
The Iranian leader said that the latest Security Council decision will not be harming Iranās citizens, slamming the US for using its own nuclear weapons to threaten other countries.
āThose who possess a nuclear bomb themselves and used it in the past, are now using it to threaten others,ā he said. āThese decisions are like a used piece of paper that should be thrown to the garbage.
So much for the muscle of the U.N. and the Obama White House. I guess Ahmadinejad is not going to be intimated by the United States after all.
Good Job Barry! Between the Oil Spill, Illegal Immigration, and your undying support of Israel; you’ll be easy pickings come 2012. š
I’m sure by now that you have heard about the Left’s attempt to unseat blanch Lincoln, which ended up in epic failure.
A senior White House official just called me with a very pointed message for the administration’s sometime allies in organized labor, who invested heavily in beating Blanche Lincoln, Obama’s candidate, in Arkansas.
“Organized labor just flushed $10 million of their members money down the toilet on a pointless exercise,” the official said. “If even half that total had been well-targeted and applied in key House races across this country, that could have made a real difference in November.”
The major labor federation AFL-CIO took sharp objection tonight to a White House official’s assessment that they’d “flushed $10 million of their members’ money down the toilet” in the “pointless exercise” of supporting the failed bid of Bill Halter to unseat Sen. Blanche Lincoln.
“If that’s their take on this, then they severely misread how the electorate feels and how we’re running our political program. When we say we’re only going to support elected officials who support our issues,” said AFL-CIO spokesman Eddie Vale. “When they say we should have targeted our money among some key house races among Blue Dog Democrats ā that ain’t happening.”
“Labor isn’t an arm of the Democratic Party,” Vale said. “It exists to support working families. And that’s what we said tonight, and that’s what we’re gong to keep saying.
Heh… That’s pretty funny. Labor is not the arm of the Democratic Party — But they have been strong-arming the Democratic Party since about —oh, the beginning of the Auto Industry! Espeically here recently, during the election of President Obama. Does anyone remember Kenneth Gladney?Ā Nice to see these bastards getting a dose of their own medicine for a change and getting told, “Don’t call us, we’ll call you….” Could not have happened to a better bunch of people.
I doubt the Obama White House would want to hear it from me. But Kudo’s to the Obama White House for telling these thugs, “You do not control us…”
It seems that Rolling Stone, once a anti-establishment, counterculture magazine for the outsiders, now turned liberal elite establishment magazine, whom everyone, who’s worth their salt in Liberal politics reads; not to mention your everyday “Regular Joe”; reads every month —- is now turning on Obama. Which is pretty ironic, considering that they were singing the Hosannas of Obama in just 2007 and 2008. My, how a year changes things.
Some excerpts:
On May 27th, more than a month into the worst environmental disaster in U.S. history, Barack Obama strode to the podium in the East Room of the White House. For weeks, the administration had been insisting that BP alone was to blame for the catastrophic oil spill in the Gulf ā and the ongoing failure to stop the massive leak. “They have the technical expertise to plug the hole,” White House spokesman Robert Gibbs had said only six days earlier. “It is their responsibility.” The president, Gibbs added, lacked the authority to play anything more than a supervisory role ā a curious line of argument from an administration that has reserved the right to assassinate American citizens abroad and has nationalized much of the auto industry. “If BP is not accomplishing the task, can you just federalize it?” a reporter asked. “No,” Gibbs replied.
Now, however, the president was suddenly standing up to take command of the cleanup effort. “In case you were wondering who’s responsible,” Obama told the nation, “I take responsibility.” Sounding chastened, he acknowledged that his administration had failed to adequately reform the Minerals Management Service, the scandal-ridden federal agency that for years had essentially allowed the oil industry to self-regulate. “There wasn’t sufficient urgency,” the president said. “Absolutely I take responsibility for that.” He also admitted that he had been too credulous of the oil giants: “I was wrong in my belief that the oil companies had their act together when it came to worst-case scenarios.” He unveiled a presidential commission to investigate the disaster, discussed the resignation of the head of MMS, and extended a moratorium on new deepwater drilling. “The buck,” he reiterated the next day on the sullied Louisiana coastline, “stops with me.”Ā — Read the Rest At Rolling Stone.com
Now admittedly, the author of this takes some potshots at the Bush Administration; some of which this writer feels is somewhat deserved. However, the writer also goes out of his way to bash the Obama administration for failing to act decisively after the rig explosion and sinking. I highly recommend my readers, what little they may be, to go read this whole thing. It is eight pages of a blistering take down of the Obama Administration.
I guess it safe to say, that the era of “Hope and Change” is quite dead and the Democratic Party and the liberal establishment, once the “In the Tank” propagandists for the Left are now asking the hard questions.
It is truly about time. It is just sad, that it took an environmental disaster of this magnitude for that to start happening.
As several recent surveys make clear, concern about deficits and debt is rising sharply. An NBC/Wall Street Journal survey conducted in early May showed that the share of individuals rating āthe deficit and government spendingā as the top priority for the federal government to address has jumped since January from 13 to 20 percentāsecond only to job creation and economic growth. According to Gallup, āfederal government debtā now ties with terrorism for the top spot in perceived threats to our future well-being. It is entirely possible that we are reaching an inflection point in public attitudes that will force the political system to change course.
[….]
In plain English: the higher spending and public debt go, the stronger the economic case for fiscal restraint. At some point, serious deficit reduction ceases to be a green eye-shade exercise and becomes essential for sustainable economic growth. But when? After summarizing the grim prognosis for U.S. deficits and debt during this decade and beyond, Auerbach and Gale formulate the choice as follows:
ā[P]olicy makers will need to decide when to cut off stimulus and start imposing fiscal discipline. Cutting off stimulus too soon could plunge the economy into a new downturn, as happened to the United States in 1937 and Japan in 1997. Letting stimulus run for too long could ignite investorsā fears and create a āhard landingā scenario.ā
Thanks to an advertiser who wishes to remain anonymous, cars and trucks on Arizona Highway 260 in East Central Arizona are driving by a billboard advertisement that recently went up, bearing President Obamaās face on what appears to be a mock U.S. $100,000,000,000,000 (One-Hundred Trillion Dollar) bill.
The billboardās caption: āBut Who Will Pay the Piper?ā
Chuck Perrine of Jones Outdoor advertising in Tucson, Ariz., confirmed to CNSNews.com that his company created the 10 ft- by-40 ft. billboard, which he said āwent up within the last month.ā
Perrine said the sign is located ānear Linden (Ariz.),ā but said that the advertiser is ānot interestedā in disclosing any further information about his identity–or his reason for purchasing the ad.
It is a very good question to ask and you want to know the answer? That would be us, the American Tax Payer, that is whom will pay the piper for many years to come. After all the stimulus that the Democrats rushed out the door? It failed. Don’t believe me? Here’s the video proof: (H/T HotAir)
As all of us, who are right of Obama, said over and over and over; you cannot prime the pump of the economy — it is either there or it is not. Further more, the huge housing bubble burst and subsequent collapse of the stock market; which wiped out many people’s 401K’s, not just the rich — is living proof that you cannot socially engineer the economy.Ā It works, but only for a season. Bubbles burst, and things come back to normal and people lose and sometimes lose big.
Hats off to the person who decided to put this up. Of course, in the lame stream media he will be denounced as some sort of evil racist or something….
President Barack Obama bluntly defended his administration’s response to the undersea gusher fouling the Gulf of Mexico on Monday, telling an interviewer he has met with experts to learn “whose ass to kick.”
“I was down there a month ago, before most of these talking heads were even paying attention to the Gulf,” Obama told NBC’s “Today” show in an interview scheduled to air Tuesday. “A month ago I was meeting with fishermen down there, standing in the rain talking about what a potential crisis this could be.”
A variety of critics have accused Obama of being too cerebral in his reaction to the undersea gusher now fouling the Gulf of Mexico, of failing to put the full force of the administration and of putting too much trust in oil company BP. But Obama told NBC his deliberations have been more than academic.
Hmmmm, perhaps maybe The President should try starting in his own cabinet? Maybe he should startwithhimself? After all, he is a pretty skinny guy, I just wonder if he is double jointed?
One of the Kalamazoo Central students — who was seated behind keynote speaker President Barack Obama during Monday night’s commencement ceremony — fell asleep.
The student, who earned such a prime seat by singing in the choir, was captured on video due to his proximity to the president. He also was a hot topic on Twitter and the subject of several recently created Facebook pages.
Our video, at left, shows the student yawning and fighting to stay alert. At one point, he leans back, only to jump alert and join in during applause. The student then leans forward and appears to nod off.
Man, if that is not a good video for someone running against Obama in 2012, what isn’t? Anyways, Yes, Kid, we feel your pain. Poor guy just was up late and had to get up early and listen to the President tell how wonderful he is. It can make for some pretty heavy eyes!
Hopefully, he ended up getting some good sleep. š
SPC Bradley Manning - Fresh Meat for the Army brig circle jerk!
Federal officials have arrested an Army intelligence analyst who boasted of giving classified U.S. combat video and hundreds of thousands of classified State Department records to whistleblower site Wikileaks, Wired.com has learned.
SPC Bradley Manning, 22, of Potomac, Maryland, was stationed at Forward Operating Base Hammer, 40 miles east of Baghdad, where he was arrested nearly two weeks ago by the Armyās Criminal Investigation Division. A family member says heās being held in custody in Kuwait, and has not been formally charged.
Manning was turned in late last month by a former computer hacker with whom he spoke online. In the course of their chats, Manning took credit for leaking a headline-making video of a helicopter attack that Wikileaks posted online in April. The video showed a deadly 2007 U.S. helicopter air strike in Baghdad that claimed the lives of several innocent civilians.
He said he also leaked three other items to Wikileaks: a separate video showing the notorious 2009 Garani air strike in Afghanistan that Wikileaks has previously acknowledged is in its possession; a classified Army document evaluating Wikileaks as a security threat, which the site posted in March; and a previously unreported breach consisting of 260,000 classified U.S. diplomatic cables that Manning described as exposing āalmost criminal political back dealings.ā
āHillary Clinton, and several thousand diplomats around the world are going to have a heart attack when they wake up one morning, and find an entire repository of classified foreign policy is available, in searchable format, to the public,ā Manning wrote.
This man is getting just what is coming to him. You take a political stance and you break the law? Your ass is going to jail. I hope he enjoys the big house, because that is right where he belongs.
Helen Thomas, the longtime White House correspondent made famous for her no-holds-barred questioning of presidents, announced her resignation Monday following controversial remarks she made about Israel.
In a statement from Hearst newspapers, where she works as a columnist, she said she is āretiring, effective immediately.ā
Thomas started at the White House as a reporter during the Kennedy administration but became more outspoken in recent years, when she shifted to column writing.
The reaction of most reporters, friends and former White House officials was that while the end to Thomas’s career is sad, it is hardly surprising.
“It really is sadness. She should have retired years ago,” one longtime friend said. “But I donāt think anyone is surprised at the anti-Israeli remarks. She has never made any secret of her animus toward Israel. I just hate to see her remembered for this instead of the pioneering work she did.”
Former White House press secretary Dana Perino said: “It’s a sad but appropriate end.”
Let this be a lesson to any leftest loon, who decides to be journalist. Keep your mouth shut and stick to your job; if you want to keep your job. Antisemitism is not cool, fashionable or any of the other stupid labels that they put on it. It is a sick disease and should not be in the public square.
Somehow or another, I somehow doubt that this was an accident, something tells me, that this woman knew who she was talking to and knew what sort of trouble it would cause. She wanted to retire and was looking for a way out and found it.
In case, you did not notice, I do have a ribbon on my blog now; and yes, I will say it. I do support Israel. The only reservation that I have, is that some of the players in Zionism sometimes resort to race or “Semite-Baiting”, but other than this, I have no issues with Israel and the Jews. America is the prosperous Nation that it is today, because of the relationship that it has with the Nation of Israel. God help this Nation, if we ever got the idiotic idea to abandon Israel or turn against her.
For more about how I feel about this issue. Please click and read this Gospel Tract. It will explain just how I feel about this whole thing. I may have had reservations about Israel in the past. But, that is all different now, I totally understand and believe, that Israel is God’s holy land and he will use it one day. You’ll see. Bush understood it, I understand it, and any Conservative who does not understand it, is not a Conservative and should not be calling themselves one!Ā Remember this, come 2010 and 2012.

SC Gov candidate Nikki Haley (R) and SC State Sen Jake Knotts (R)
It sounds like South Carolina State. Sen. Jake Knotts’ “raghead” comments last night are even worse than first reported.
Not only did he refer to Republican gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley as a “raghead” during an internet political radio show taped in a bar — but Knotts called her a “f—ing raghead” afterward, according to a report from the Free-Times.
“She’s a f—ing raghead,” Knotts reportedly said.
This report comes on the heels of an earlier account from the co-host of the internet political talk show Pub Politics, the forum for Knotts’ comments. Knotts — who supports Haley opponent Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer in the state’s Republican gubernatorial primary — did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment this morning.
The show is co-hosted by Phil Bailey and Wes Donehue. Donehue, a GOP operative, figured into an earlier chapter in the scandal surrounding blogger Will Folks’ claim that he had an affair with Haley. Donehue sent Folks an expletive-laced text message about the story being discussed, and was reportedly trying to shop an affidavit to reporters. For his part, Bailey works with the Senate Democratic Caucus.
The state senator also reportedly seemed to suggest when approached by Free Times reporter Corey Hutchins after the show last night that Haley was some kind of Sikh Manchurian candidate.
[….]
Knotts has apologized for his comments, explaining them as part of a “freewheeling, anything-goes Internet radio show that is broadcast from a pub.”
If it had been recorded, the public would be able to hear firsthand that my ‘raghead’ comments about Obama and Haley were intended in jest. Bear in mind that this is a freewheeling, anything-goes Internet radio show that is broadcast from a pub. It’s like local political version of Saturday Night Live, which is actually where the joke came from.He continued: “I still believe Ms. Haley is pretending to be someone she is not, much as Obama did, but I do apologize to both for an unintended slur.”
So Haleyās family is Indian and weāre fighting Muslim jihadis, and ⦠close enough, I guess? Today Jenny Sanford leveraged some of her moral authority on Haleyās behalf by denouncing the scumbaggery being practiced here, but I fear South Carolinaās a lost cause. My mental picture of the state these days is of a giant sleaze blob laying waste to the land, consuming everyone and everything it touches. Note to Hot Air readers in SC: Get out while you still can.
HEH!Ā That’s so wrong, but quite funny. š The Allahpundit statement, not the stupidity by this idiot who looks like he’s eaten way too many triple whoppers for supper. I mean, this idiot is still in politics and still making statements like these? Ouch. South Carolina is got some issues.
Oh, But the stupidity does not end there!
We get this little gem from the ugliest damn White House reporter on the planet: (H/T to my good friend Sammy at YidWithaLid)
First this feckless….um, woman, goes ape poop over the White House’s reaction to the attempt to run a blockade in Gaza by Terrorists, watch:
….and then, she lets this little gem fly last week:
Sammy over Yid with a Lid says:
I used to attribute Thomas’ venom to the combination of her liberal leanings and Lebanese heritage, video below indicates that her intentions are more nefarious than that, Thomas is not a big fan of the Jewish people.
Uh, Sammy? What gave you your first clue? š
He goes on:
Go back to Germany and Poland?? Why Ms Thomas? You do remember the Holocaust right? Heck you are old enough to remember the crusades.
HEH! Now that’s funny… š
Sammy’s very important point here:
There are some people who believe that any criticism of Israel is Anti-Semitism. That belief is as ignorant as Anti-Semitism itself. There is however, a great deal of crossover between hatred of Israel and Hatred of the Jews. To find out what people really mean you need to examine the words they use.
Helen Thomas’ comparing of the IDF to Nazi Germany is nothing but an attempt to water-down the horror of the Holocaust, and to dehumanize Israel. And her advice to the Jews to get the hell out of Palestine, and go back to Poland and Germany is nothing short of anti-Semitism. If Thomas’ comments were directed toward any other group but the Jews, she would have been out of work a very long time ago. Maybe itās time for Helenās bosses to retire her to the āThe Home For Old Crazy Anti-Semites.”
Amen and Amen! Er, wait, Sammy’s Jewish… *scratches head*
??? and ???!
Update: D’oh! I guess WordPress won’t pass Yiddish….. Sorry Sammy, I tried buddy… š
Helen Thomas issued the following statement today: āI deeply regret my comments I made last week regarding the Israelis and the Palestinians. They do not reflect my heart-felt belief that peace will come to the Middle East only when all parties recognize the need for mutual respect and tolerance. May that day come soon.ā
Feh…. Whatever…
Oh, but the stupid doesn’t stop here… There’s more, believe it or not….
Good old Pat Buchanan, just when you think that this idiot couldn’t sink any lower. He goes a little deeper: (H/T AP)
Stupid is as stupid does....
But that 2 a.m. boarding of an unarmed ship with an unarmed crew, carrying no munitions or weapons, 65 miles at sea, was an act of piracy. What the Israeli commandos got is what any armed hijacker should expect who tries to steal a car from a driver who keeps a tire iron under the front seatā¦
But we have a blockade of Gaza, say the Israelis, and this flotilla was a provocation. Indeed, it was. And Selma was a provocation. The marchers at Edmund Pettus Bridge were disobeying orders of the governor of Alabama and state police not to march.
Yet, today, liberal Democrats who regard Martin Luther King as a moral hero for championing nonviolent civil disobedience to protest injustice are cheering not the unarmed passengers trying to break the Gaza blockade, but the Israelis enforcing the blockadeā¦
Israel has a right to secure Gaza to deny Hamas access to weapons, especially rockets that could reach Israel. But that does not justify denying 1.5 million people what they need to live in decency.
Freakin’ Jesus Christ on a Cheese Cracker already! That guy is terminally stupid or woefully uninformed. š
Told ya, it comes in three’s anymore!
Like I said in the title… PLEASE, STOP THE STUPID MACHINE! šÆ š®
I have zero clue who produced this, but man is it ever good….
This comes via The Daily Paul, who has gone out of their way to bash me in the past —- figure I will be different and show a little class and give them credit on this find.
Itās one thing to say our Iran policy is making things worse, itās quite another to pretend that regional war, possibly with a nuclear component, in the Middle East wouldnāt much matter to America if we just hurried up and got our troops out. I canāt tell if this guy doesnāt realize or simply doesnāt care that opening up Gazaās port will mean more arms in the hands of more fanatics, which means more of a chance of war and thus a more precarious position for U.S. interests. But let this serve as yet another reminder that, for all the grief we give The One on foreign policy, we can do much, much worse. And not just on the left either.
Amen to that. For all the grief that I give President Obama, I also know that it could be and would be much worse, if Ron Paul was the President. Also, about “AllahPundit,” before anyone says a damned thing in the comments section; was less than 10 miles from the World Trade Center, when it was hit in 2001. Hence his desire to see something done about the terrorists.
Ron Paul’s problem is, that he is shilling for the terrorists who want to destroy this Country and he is too stupid to know it.Ā Either that or he knows it and really does not care. Gaza starving; what idiotic bullcrap! š Only thing starving is Ron Paul’s brain.
Only five years ago, the progressive political blogosphere was still predominately a gathering place for amateur (that is, unpaid or barely paid) journalists and activists unattached to existing media companies and advocacy organizations. Those days are almost completely over. Now, the progressive blogosphere is almost entirely professionalized, and inextricably linked to existing media companies and advocacy organizations.
This transformation has been brought about by three developments (fellow bloggers, please forgive me in advance if I fail to mention your or your blog as an example):
1. Established media companies and advocacy organizations hiring bloggers to blog, full-time: The Washington Post, New York Times, Politico, Center for American Progress, Salon, CQ, Atlantic, Washington Monthly, the American Independent News Network, and more have all hired hired bloggers to blog, full-time. Many of these bloggers, such as fivethirtyeight, Unclaimed Territory, or the Carpetbagger Report, operated their blogs independently of any established organization, and were key hubs in the “amateur” or “independent” progressive blogosphere. Now, those bloggers do pretty much the same thing they did before, they just (quite understandably) do it for a much better salary from an established organization.
2. Previously “amateur” progressive blogs became professional operations: Another trend, less common than the first, has been for blogs like Daily Kos, Fire Dog Lake and Talking Points Memo to transform themselves from hobbies into professional media outlets and / or activist organizations. These blogs have increased their revenue stream to the point where they can hire multiple full-time staff.
3. Bloggers translate blogging into consulting and advocacy work: Many bloggers have also found a way to make a living by combining their blogging with blog-friendly advocacy and consulting work. This is actually the path I am currently following, as are, I believe, Oliver Willis, Atrios, Jerome Armstrong, and more. This involves finding part-time or full time work in politics that is conducive to still maintaining a full-time blog (which also generates a part-time income).
Look, I am not going to do the pile-on here, but I will say this; Chris Bowers does have a point. The problem is, Bowers sounds like he whining because no one bought him out. The same thing, which Bowers is referring to, has happened and continues to happen on the right too. Michelle Malkin off-loaded her mega-Conservative site HotAir.com off to a Conservative Media conglomerate Salem Communications for a hefty price tag, I am told. Ā So, this is not anything new.
So far, no one has offered me a job in politics or in the world of “New Media.” Nor has anyone offered to buy out my blog or anything of that sort. Not that I have been pimping myself out either. I know what my qualifications are.Ā I mean, there would have to be a check with a one and WHOLE BUNCH of zeros in front of it, before I would give this baby up. Couple hundred million and I would consider it. Otherwise, you all will have to contend with me for a long time to come. š
