The party is over for Obama among independent voters

Looks like the Independents in America have sobered up from the Hope and Change stupor:

In the new National Public Radio poll conducted by the Democratic polling company Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research and its Republican counterpart, Public Opinion Strategies, 42 percent of the 800 likely voters surveyed March 10 to 14 said that if the next congressional election were held today they would vote for the Republican candidate; an identical percentage of respondents said they would vote for the Democratic one. For several years, Democrats held a substantial lead on this question.

Democrats still outnumbered Republicans in terms of party identification in this poll by 6 points, 45 percent to 39 percent. Democrats also favored their own party’s congressional candidates 83 percent to 7 percent. But voters who call themselves independents gave GOP candidates the edge by 14 points, 38 percent to 24 percent. And self-identified Republicans supported their own party’s candidates 85 percent to 3 percent.

via National Journal Magazine – Are Independents Hedging Their Bets?.

I recommend you go read the whole thing, as it is a very interesting read. The political climate in America is changing very fast. Most Americans do not want to see their children paying for some economic mess, that was not even of their own making; but rather was of some Democrat in Washington D.C.’s making. Now, in fairness, the Republicans could have stopped this mess in 2003, they tried and the people creating the mess played the race card and also denied that anything was even wrong.  However, if Jimmy Carter and later on Bill Clinton would have left well enough alone, this whole economic mess would have been avoided.

I do truly hope by 2010 that the poll numbers for the Democrats are so low that Republican Congress will be able to take back the majority and out of the hands of these crazy people who want to spend out country into bankruptcy.

Yes, Iran does hate us and they have reasons too

This is one of those posts that will separate me from the rabid Neo-Conservative right.

The New York Times reports that Iran has rejected the overtures of the Obama Administration.

The reasons were given:

Khamenei enumerated a long list of Iranian grievances against the United States over the past 30 years and said the U.S. was still interfering in Iranian affairs.

He mentioned U.S. sanctions against Iran, U.S. support for Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein during his 1980-88 war against Iran and the downing of an Iranian airliner over the Persian Gulf in 1988.

He also accused the U.S. of provoking ethnic tension in Iran and said Washington’s accusations that Iran is seeking nuclear weapons are a sign of U.S. hostility. Iran says its nuclear program is only for peaceful purposes, like energy production, not for building weapons.

”Have you released Iranian assets? Have you lifted oppressive sanctions? Have you given up mudslinging and making accusations against the great Iranian nation and its officials? Have you given up your unconditional support for the Zionist regime? Even the language remains unchanged,” Khamenei said.

Khamenei, wearing a black turban and dark robes, said America was hated around the world for its arrogance, as the crowd chanted ”Death to America.”

While I will be the first to concede that much of this was done much before Obama’s time. The fact is that the United States has always treated that region as a pawn. A pawn in a game of “The Ends Justify the means.” and we are bearing the fruit of that now.

The Zionist remark can be described as simply this. The United States has never, ever, taken a critical tone with Israel and has mostly always blindly supported Israel’s acts of aggression in the region. All the while condemning anyone’s acts towards Israel. It is that policy that has people like those in Iran saying, “Death to America.”

Anyone that tries to tell you anything other than this, is selling you a line of bullshit.

I’m not really sure who Dylan Hales is….

But he might just be the smartest white man alive…

In a very well written piece called “A Lexicon of Conservative Bullshit” Hales lays down the most brilliant smackdown evah!

Hales point out the obvious:

Though it would not be difficult to comply a much larger list, a good overview of four standard talking points of the establishment conservative movement showcases just how worthless discourse on the modern Right has become—or at least the Right that gets representation on the airwaves:

“Government Should Be Run Like A Business”—While this sentiment, no doubt, rises from the general feeling that spending would be curbed if the State were to be managed more efficiently, the implications of such reasoning have been disastrous for conservatives. So-called “revolutionary” ideas like Supply-Side Economics, have proven to be absent any real value for those looking to limit the size of government. This isn’t surprising.  By consistently supporting revenue neutral “reforms,” the GOP and its useful idiots guarantee that government goals and responsibilities will be identical to those of any business—making a profit.  If increasing the inflow of funds to the already swollen government is “conservative” I’d like to know how.

Culture Of Life”—There is no more meaningless phrase in the political lexicon than this, and yet it is almost unimaginable to envision a leading Republican candidate for any office avoiding this platitude when pandering for votes.  Forget for a second the wildly inconsistent application of any “pro-life” principles among movement conservatives.  Instead ask yourself this—what does promoting a “culture of life” even mean?  If the Bush years are any indication, it means using the tax base to further a faith-based Statism in a bizarre attempt to make the government stewards of the family. Again, it is hard to see how standing citizenship on its head or perverting the traditional role of the family qualifies as a “conservative.”

Complaints about “Freeloaders”—Nothing is more annoying than a bunch of bloated blowhards bitching about the underclass and street beggars living off the excess of society.  Whether it is true or not it is irrelevant.  The fact is that our society is unbelievably wasteful and driven by a materialist mindset which demands its big shots— and wannabe big shots—constantly “upgrade” in all facets of life to keep up with the Jones.  One consequence of this is a drop out culture of spoiled brats and lazy bums who are all too happy to skate by on the hand-me-downs of the consumption obsessed. Whining about the existence of such creatures, while feeding their come-what-may attitudes is ridiculous and ultimately only serves to undermine the thrifty habits that will required of more and more Americans as the bottom continues to fall out from under us.

“What Would Reagan Do?”—Movement fixation on the last prominent GOP figurehead to pay serious lip service to tearing down the State is understandable.  What is not understandable—or forgivable—is fetishizing a political figure of dubious political relevance in our current environment.  That Reagan’s “American Exceptionalism” nonsense is a major problem with the country today should now be evident to everyone.

More importantly, our fortieth president’s willingness to allow the neocons a very prominent seat at the table calls into question his judgment. At the very least treating him as a high prophet of wisdom and clear headed thought is remarkably shortsighted and obscures the problems facing the United States today—many of which we can thank the “Gipper” for.

Whether or not anti-statist politics can be rejuvenated under the conservative mantle remains to be seen.  Perhaps blowing up the institutions and building from the bottom is the best course of action.  Still, without a full reconsideration of the quips disguised as doctrines listed above, no right wing movement will ever get out of the gate—“conservative” or otherwise.

I don’t even know the guy and I like him. Well written sir. I only wish that more in the G.O.P thought like you.

Hey Jew Boy! Stop the damn whining!

Some idiot lefty by the name of Ezra Klein is now whining because someone left a rather silly comment on Ann Althouse‘s Blog.

Hey Asshole, here’s some fucking hate for you. If you want to call it that; I call it fucking reality……

I am not a “Anti-Semite” as a rule, but Hitler did have a point. If the fucking Jews had kept their God-Damned noses out of World War I, The Holocaust never would have happened. Now how Hitler dealt with the situation, is another story. But to sit and say that Hitler did that which he did for no reason, is just utter bullshit. There was a reason.

Now don’t get me wrong, I am not some sort of Holocaust denier. It happened, it was terrible, and I hope nothing insane like that happens again. Although, I will not lie to you, Barack Obama scares the shit out of me. I’m waiting to be taken from my home and sent off to some camp, because I am a fucking Conservative.

However, one cannot over look the rash of Hoaxes that have come from the Jewish community as of late. Barnie Madoff, That idiot that wrote the book about the Holocaust and most of it was; turns out, fiction. I won’t even get into the story of Anne Frank.

The truth is, when anyone, like myself or Pat Buchanan attempt to try and criticize anyone in the Jewish community; we’re smeared as racists and “Anti-Semite.” Which is so damned typical of the Liberal and Zionist Neo-Conservative Communities.

Kinda of reminds of another minority group as well. 🙄

World’s greatest asshole liberal democrat to get show on MSNBC

Yes, that’s right, I called Ed Schultz an asshole. There are blue dog Democrats, or as they’re also called, Democrats who still love the spirit of America and then there are assholes like this guy. Well, I guess MSNBC, or as it now called MSDNC; is supposedly courting this loose cannon. Wonderful. As if that network did not have enough Liberal blowhards on there already. 🙄

Via the New York Observer:

The Observer has learned that MSNBC president Phil Griffin is in discussions with syndicated talk radio host Ed Schultz about possibly joining the network on a full-time basis.  It is unclear what exactly the job would entail should Mr. Schultz and MSNBC come to an agreement.

On March 10, Mr. Schultz, who bills himself as the “most listened-to progressive radio talk show host in America,” guest-hosted on MSNBC’s 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. As The Observer reported at the time, the appearance touched off a wave of rumors among MSNBC staffers that Mr. Schultz was being groomed to join the network as an anchor.

Eight days later, on Wednesday, March 18, Mr. Schultz was back in the anchor chair, again, filling in for David Shuster on the 6 p.m. show.

One network source told The Observer that an offer has already been extended to Mr. Schultz. A network spokesperson denied that any offer has been made.

When reached by phone on Friday morning, Mr. Schultz also denied that Mr. Griffin had made him an offer. He said that he had received some kind words from MSNBC management on the heels of his guest-hosting gigs. But, according to Mr. Schultz, MSNBC brass has given him no definite word yet about his future—if he has one—at the cable news network.

I can tell you right now, I can handle Chris Matthews, I can handle Shuster, and I can even; believe it or not, handle Olbermann. But this idiot, no way, no how, not on your best day. He is nothing more than a loose cannon, who parrots the damned talking points of the far left. Yeah, kind of like Olbermann. But at least Olbermann has a polish to his act. Schultz comes off as some drunken rabble-rouser in a bar; you know, the kind that you usually had to kick the crap out of, to get him to leave you alone? Yeah, he is that kind of an guy.

Let me put it to you this way; I would rather be strapped to a chair and forced to listen to Sean Hannity sing or that one idiot who sung “Let the eagle soar”; over and over and over, before I’d want to listen to Schultz. Yes, he is that annoying.

Yes, we are a Banana Republic

John Hinderaker is shocked to discover that America is not what it seems to be:

I’m stupefied to find that some people are defending the constitutionality of Nancy Pelosi’s discriminatory, confiscatory and retroactive tax on people who receive bonus income from companies that got TARP money. I would have considered it a bright line rule that the government can’t identify a class of unpopular people and impose a special tax on them. What’s next? A 100% income tax on registered Republicans, retroactive to last year? If Pelosi’s bill passes muster, why not?

One theory, presumably, is that since the government is contributing TARP money it can put whatever strings it wants on that money. (Including, I guess, strings imposed after the fact that would deprive employees of agreed-upon consideration for work they’ve already performed.) But that theory has been rejected in a variety of contexts. The government cannot condition its spending on a relinquishment of constitutional rights. Here’s a thought experiment: how about putting a condition (retroactively, of course) on TARP money that says no employee of any bank that receives such money (or his spouse) can get an abortion? Would Nancy Pelosi think that’s constitutional?

Wells Fargo didn’t want any TARP money, but the government forced it to take more than $5 billion worth, so Wells Fargo employees who receive bonuses would be subject to Pelosi’s proposed tax. Say you’re a teller at a Wells Fargo branch in Minnesota and you’re married to a lawyer who makes $250,000 this year. You get a $10,000 bonus for your good work during 2008. The government steals it all (90 percent federal plus 8.5 percent state plus, unless it’s included in the 90 percent, 3 percent Medicare). That is simply insane.

Welcome to the new real world John! This is what happens when Conservatives, Libertarians and those pesky independents falls for the nice speeches and sweet swagger of a man, who in all honesty has zero business being President.

Luckily for us, there some Republicans who have some brains up on the hill. The AP Reports:

Senate Republicans are drawing out a flap that has made the Obama administration squirm, applying the brakes to Democratic attempts to quickly tax away most of the bonuses at troubled insurance giant AIG and other bailed-out companies.

Sen. Jon Kyl, the Republicans’ vote counter, blocked Democratic efforts Thursday evening to bring up the Senate version of the tax bill to recoup most of the $165 million paid out by AIG last weekend and other bonuses in 2009. The House had swiftly approved its version of the bill earlier in the day.

By rushing, Kyl said, Democrats were letting populist outrage trump informed decision making in the Senate, which is supposed to be insulated from the pressures of public passion.

“I don’t believe that Congress should rush to pass yet another piece of hastily crafted legislation in this very toxic atmosphere, at least without understanding the facts and the potential unintended consequences,” Kyl said on the Senate floor. “Frankly, I think that’s how we got into the current mess.”

Senate Democrats said they will try again next week to take up the tax bill and hope to complete it before April 4, when Congress leaves for a two-week spring break. Combining the disparate House and Senate versions of the bill might have to wait until after the recess.

If the Democrats want to fix the problem, they should try turning to the moron that they put in the White House and his treasury secretary. Both of their resignations would be nice right about now. We need some real leadership, and not that idiot Harlem Globetrotter nonsense, that we have been getting since Barry took office. In other words, it’s time for “Teleprompter Boy” to hit the damned road.

Barry’s Budget might bring $9.3 trillion in deficits

Nothing like something to make your Saturday a bit more gloomy. Knowing that the Globetrotter in chief is basically spending your Country into a economic black hole.

Via the AP:

President Barack Obama’s budget would produce $9.3 trillion in deficits over the next decade, more than four times the deficits of Republican George W. Bush’s presidency, congressional auditors said Friday.

The new Congressional Budget Office figures offered a far more dire outlook for Obama’s budget than the new administration predicted just last month — a deficit $2.3 trillion worse. It’s a prospect even the president’s own budget director called unsustainable.

In his White House run, Obama assailed the economic policies of his predecessor, but the eye-popping deficit numbers threaten to swamp his ambitious agenda of overhauling health care, exploring new energy sources and enacting scores of domestic programs.

The dismal deficit figures, if they prove to be accurate, inevitably raise the prospect that Obama and his Democratic allies controlling Congress would have to consider raising taxes after the recession ends or else pare back his agenda.

By CBO’s calculation, Obama’s budget would generate deficits averaging almost $1 trillion a year of red ink over 2010-2019.

Worst of all, CBO says the deficit under Obama’s policies would never go below 4 percent of the size of the economy, figures that economists agree are unsustainable. By the end of the decade, the deficit would exceed 5 percent of gross domestic product, a dangerously high level.

Here is the real kicker, what are the so-called “Liberal Experts” saying is the solution to the above? Spending more money! But of course!

As Washington Post columnist Steven Pearlstein pointed out, the numbers confirm that “the recession is worse than they thought when they did these things last time,” and thus “the more urgent it is for us to spend more money to stimulate the economy.

It is indeed a scarey time to be an American. The mental cases are running the asylum.

One the biggest reasons why I will never vote Democrat again…Ever

I am not going to write a long post about this. Because if I do, it will devolve into four letter words and outright nastyness.

I will simple say this; anyone who wants to know why I decided that the Democratic Party no longer represented the views that I hold, and was no longer the Party that I wanted to be associated with, need look no further than right here.

I am not a Republican, nor have I ever been a Republican, nor will I ever be a Republican. But I’ll be GOD DAMNED, if I’ll ever vote for a damned President that sucked up to, made alliances with and basically pandered to people that do this sort of a thing!

Michelle Malkin might be a bit more to the right than myself. But I commend that little loud mouthed woman for being the one that has the, ahem, balls to report this stuff that goes on. Good on you, Michelle. Next time some idiot calls her a hater, I’m sending them this link.

That is all….

D’oh! Obama gets a press award and the press gets locked out!

It’s a press award: Check

Press gets locked out: D’oh!

Andrew Malcome reports:

The president is to receive the award from the federation of black community newspapers in a White House ceremony this afternoon.

funny_president_obamaThe Obama White House has closed the press award ceremony to the press.

From the president’s official schedule:

“Later in the afternoon, the President and the First Lady will attend a reception with the National Newspaper Publisher Association in the State Dining Room, where they will be presented the Newsmaker of the Year award. This event is closed press.”

Maybe they’ll let the newspaper people pass the award through the fence.

Just another gaffe in a long trail of gaffes from the Harlem globetrotter in chief.

D’oh! Obama Bombs a joke…..Badly

To his defense,  The President was trying to funny. Did not work well, at all. 😮

Via Jack Tapper:

The first appearance by a sitting president on “The Tonight Show” may well end up being the last.

President Obama, in his taping with Jay Leno Thursday afternoon, attempted to yuk it up with the funnyman, and ended up insulting the disabled.

Towards the end of his approximately 40-minute appearance, the president talked about how he’s gotten better at bowling and has been practicing in the White House bowling alley.

He bowled a 129, the president said.

“That’s very good, Mr. President,” Leno said sarcastically.

It’s “like the Special Olympics or something,” the president said.

Ouch. Not a good way to follow up the week. I mean, after A.I.G. and everything else happening, and he does this.

Of course, The President’s spokesman and the White House tried to walk the cat backward:

When asked about the remark, the White House said the president did not intend to offend.

“The president made an off-hand remark making fun of his own bowling that was in no way intended to disparage the Special Olympics,” White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton said. “He thinks the Special Olympics is a wonderful program that gives an opportunity for people with disabilities from around the world.”

From the GibbMaster:

“Good afternoon. The President made an offhand remark making fun of his own bowling that was in no way intended to disparage the Special Olympics. He thinks that the Special Olympics are a wonderful program that gives an opportunity to shine to people with disabilities from around the world.”

Meanwhile, a war of opinions over at HotAir between AllahPundit and Ed Morrissey has broken out:

Update (AP): The Anchoress’s point is well taken, but honestly, I tire of this politically calculated outrage. We all know what he meant; it was politically incorrect, but more political incorrectness among our political elite is all to the good. Lay off.

Update (Ed): Not if only one side gets away with it, AP.

Also, let’s remember that Obama is supposed to be leading, not campaigning or working as a stand-up comedian.  He’s been insisting that we’re in the worst financial crisis in 70 years.  Going on Leno to discuss his policies could have been a smart step; going on Leno to make quips and one-liners, and doing it badly, hardly builds confidence in his leadership or his priorities.  When he stops with the crisis mentality, then he can show us why his stand-up career would have gone nowhere.

Also, wasn’t it Obama and his team that was screeching about the “political incorrectness” of Rush Limbaugh in hoping he’d fail, and insinuating that it amounted to treason?

Hey Allah, When they fire you from drifting off the script too much, you can come work for me man. I cannot afford to pay you; at least not until the Advertising money starts rolling in. I will need help with the dedicated hosting that we’ll have to get, because you are a big name writer and my puny little shared hosting account would not be able to keep with the demand, and I only get 50 gigabytes of bandwidth a month! So, when Michelle drops the hammer man; look me up!  We would make a good team! 😀 😉 😛

Palin’s Crap shoot

I said the same thing about Mark Sandford, not on the blog; but I did think this at the time. I really feel what Sarah Palin is doing here is huge crap shoot. I’ll explain after the quote:

Gov. Sarah Palin just told reporters that she’s accepting only 55 percent of the federal economic stimulus money being offered to Alaska. The governor said that she will accept only about $514 million of the $930 million headed to the state.

“We are not requesting funds intended to just grow government. We are not requesting more money for normal day-to-day operations of government as part of this economic stimulus package. In essence we say no to operating funds for more positions in government,” Palin said.

The biggest single chunk of stimulus money that Palin is turning down is $160 million for education. There’s also $17 million in Department of Labor funds (vocational rehabilitation services, unemployment services, etc.), about $9 million for Health and Social Services and about $7 million for Public Safety. The full list and the specifics aren’t available from the governor’s budget department yet.

The reason I say this is a crap shoot is this. If Obama’s stimulus is a failure or does not bring the expected change in the economy; Palin and Sandford will be considered heroes in the Republican Party, and amongst open-minded Independents that voted for Obama.  On the other hand; If Obama’s Stimulus package works and the economy does turn around,  The Republicans who opposed this stimulus as well as Palin and Sanford will be considered those who stood in the way of rescuing the Nation’s economy from total meltdown.

Either way, it is a very risky crap shoot and not one I personally would have taken. Because there is that risk that you might end up regretting your actions. While appealing to your loyal and sometimes overly ideological base may be nice, one has to remember is that Sanford and Palin are Governors of the entire state that they Govern and not just Governors of that State’s Republican Party base.

Another theory I have is this; perhaps Palin knows that her popularity within the party and amongst Alaskans is gone, and she’s basically setting herself up to not run in 2010 for Governor or get defeated. I could be wrong on that one. But sometimes politicians do this sort of a thing, knowing that they won’t be running for reelection or have seen the poll numbers and are going out in a blaze of glory.

The History Revisionists Continue

Normally I would normally would not link to this Blog/Site, but I feel that this is extremely warranted.

Via Think Progress:

On PBS’s Charlie Rose yesterday — six years after the eve of the Iraq invasion — former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice discussed the decision to invade Iraq. Rice said she has had no “second thoughts” about striking the country, and when pressed by Rose on whether Saddam Hussein had connections to 9/11, Rice blankly said that “no one” believed in such a link:

ROSE: But you didn’t believe it had anything to do with 9/11.

RICE: No. No one was arguing that Saddam Hussein somehow had something to do with 9/11.

ROSE: No one.

RICE: I was certainly not. The President was certainly not. … That’s right. We were not arguing that.

Hmmm… That is kind of funny, because of this:

In his book, Bush At War, Bob Woodward noted that Bush said after 9/11, “I believe Iraq was involved, but I’m not going to strike them now.” Rice was no exception either. On Sept. 15, 2002, she said that Saddam had “links to terrorism [that] would include al-Qaeda.” As late as September 2006, she remarked, “there were ties going on between Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein’s regime going back for a decade.” Cheney still believes there was a link between Iraq and al Qaeda.

In recent weeks, former Bush administration officials have continued to push the link. Bush maintains that he was right to make a false link between Iraq and 9/11. Former press secretary Ari Fleischer said last week, “But after September 11th, having been being hit once, how could we take a chance that Saddam Hussein might not strike again?”

I may not be a big fan of President Obama and his big Government socialism. But I will take that over a buffoon Administration that cannot even get their damned stories straight. Yes, I still believe that the Bush Administration mislead America, on the reasons for going to war in Iraq.  Do I believe that there should be punishments handed out? Sure, if there were any laws broken. But we all know that this will never happen, because we never punish our political leaders; Waco, Ruby Ridge and many other idiot acts by the idiotic centralized Government have proven that.

The Paleo Con and Neo-Con War rages on

Between the guys over The American Conservative and Commentary Magazine.

Can’t we all just get along people?

I mean, seriously. The Conservative movement is very much in the wilderness right now. Can’t we, just for once, put aside our differences and unite together, as one front, and get back to our moorings? We have some seriously dangerous people in the White House, we have to fight them, and we cannot do this, as long as we are fighting one another.

Sigh… This is one of the reasons why I am simply thinking about stopping blogging. It is just getting to be not worth it anymore.

A very good point!

A very point is found here:

Yesterday as I was leaving Wal-Mart I spotted a Black man wearing a t-shirt that said “My President is Black” surrounding a picture of Obama. While I think it is generally unhelpful for White people to play the morally superior color blind card, in this case it is instructive. Can you imagine the outrage if the election had gone differently and a White person wore a shirt with McCain and the words “My President is White?”

via Seen at Wal-Mart … | Conservative Heritage Times.

Yes, I could imagine it. I could also imagine the damn riots that would have broken out all across Black America, if Obama had lost too. It would have not been pretty.

The Obligatory AIG-Gate Posting

The sappy soap opera that is the AIG-gate scandal continues. If you want to read about that nonsense, go here. I am about as interested in this, as I am knitting. Economics is not my thing, at all.

One note of interest, my far right wing friend Michelle Malkin is having a fit over supposed death threats to the employees of AIG. Which makes me wonder, did she have this same of sort of concern for the two families that she maligned and revealed personal info about, like what kind of cars they drove; during the SCHIP program debacle? Updated:Oh Great…. – Feds undercut civilian supply of ammunition – Update: Order Reversed!

It has began, the assault on gun owners in America:

The Story: Feds undercut civilian supply of ammunition Via WorldNetDaily.com.

A recent government policy change has taken a bite out of the nation’s already stressed ammunition supply, leaving arms dealers scrambling to find ammo for private gun owners.

Georgia Arms is a company that for the last 15 years has been purchasing fired brass shell casings from the Department of Defense and private government surplus liquidators. The military collects the discarded casings from fired rounds, then sells them through liquidators to companies like Georgia Arms that re-manufacture the casings into ammunition for the law enforcement and civilian gun owner communities.

But earlier this month, Georgia Arms received a canceled order, informed by its supplier that the government now requires fired brass casings be mutilated, in other words, destroyed to a scrap metal state.

The policy change, handed down from the Department of Defense through the Defense Logistics Agency, cuts a supply leg out from underneath ammunition manufacturers.

I knew this was coming, I just did not know how.

Boots and Sabers Blog Weighs in:

This policy didn’t come out of the blue.  The Commander in Chief is clearly sending a message to gun owners that they should be paying more for ammunition.  If he can’t do it through regulatory action, he’ll do it by forcing ammunition manufacturers to spend more on production, and he’ll do it at the taxpayers’ expense.

I think it might be even a bit more sinister than that. I believe it could be an underhanded way of attempting to cripple the supply of ammunition. If we cripple or limit the supply, there will be less guns.

But that is the liberals for you. 🙄

Update: Wow! That was quick, the order has been reversed. Days of our Trailers has the details, as does the JPFO and the NRA. Nice work men. We must stay on top of this stuff, as we do have a hostile Administration in the White House, who wants to get rid of all the guns; despite what he might say. All Socialists, who are really Communists in disguise; want to take away our guns.

The Politico Admits what Bloggers have known for years….

That the Main Stream Media uses Blogs for it’s political news gathering.

For the past two years, several hundred left-leaning bloggers, political reporters, magazine writers, policy wonks and academics have talked stories and compared notes in an off-the-record online meeting space called JournoList.

Proof of a vast liberal media conspiracy?

Not at all, says Ezra Klein, the 24-year-old American Prospect blogging wunderkind who formed JournoList in February 2007. “Basically,” he says, “it’s just a list where journalists and policy wonks can discuss issues freely.”

But some of the journalists who participate in the online discussion say — off the record, of course — that it has been a great help in their work. On the record, The New Yorker’s Jeffrey Toobin acknowledged that a Talk of the Town piece — he won’t say which one — got its start in part via a conversation on JournoList. And JLister Eric Alterman, The Nation writer and CUNY professor, said he’s seen discussions that start on the list seep into the world beyond.

via JournoList: Inside the echo chamber – Michael Calderone – POLITICO.com.

…..and a collective “Duh!” went up over the Blogosphere.  This what I, and every other Blogger has known for years, that the MSM uses the Political Blogosphere for collecting its news.

An interesting quote:

“I’m very lazy about writing when I’m not getting paid,” Alterman said. “So if I take the trouble to write something in any detail on the list, I tend to cannibalize it. It doesn’t surprise me when I see things on the list on people’s blogs.”

He is not the only one. I’ve read where even Bill O’Reilly has ripped off elements of the Conservative political Blogosphere and not even bothered to credit it’s sources. Which is about typical for the journalistic world. “Let’s rip off the Bloggers, nobody reads those things anyhow!” Think I’m full of it? Think again. 90% of all political stories come from our realm.

As for the conspiracy aspect of it. I don’t really buy into that. The Liberals are doing simply what the Conservatives did in the 1990’s when Bill Clinton beat George H.W. Bush in the elections. They’re organizing their media outlets. Exchanging information to report on. It is really no big deal.

So, I really do not see what the big fuss is about. Democrats got smart, after losing 2 elections, and before that, having a disaster for a President; the Democrats are just not going to screw this chance up, when it getting things right this time. I cannot fault them for this.

I do believe that the Politico is really trying to make a boogie man sitution out of something that just really is not there.  There is nothing wrong the Blogging world working with it’s political counterparts to get their message on point. I believe if the G.O.P. had done this more and had gotten it’s message right and a great number of other things right, Obama might have lost this election. The trouble is the G.O.P. was busy harping on rather stupid stuff, than on the real message at hand.

So, while this might be a nice headline for the Meme Trackers. There is nothing in this story that I, at least, find to be of a scandalous nature.

I was over at HotAir.com and I noticed this video:

Let’s see here. racist stereotypes of the people of Irish heritage, open mocking of the Irish culture.

Now how is it, that people can do this, and it’s perfectly fine, but a video like this here is offensive? ThinkingI dont know:

Don Imus has From Stage II Prostate Cancer

Some Sad News:

Radio host Don Imus announced on his radio show Monday that he is battling stage II prostate cancer.

Imus, 68, known for his controversial and outspoken opinions on everything from sports to politics, offered no word on his prognosis but said that he had full confidence “his doctors will beat it.”

Imus made the announcement Monday on his morning show from New York, which airs on ABC Radio Networks and cable’s RFD-TV. He said he wrestled with the idea of making it public, but figured he should because he might have to miss some work due to treatment.

“I’m changing the name of the Imus Cattle Ranch for Kids with Cancer to the Imus Cattle Ranch for Kids with cancer and me,” he said, referring to his charity to help children with cancer.

Imus said he has early stage cancer, which means it hasn’t spread outside the prostate.

“The day you find out is fine,” he said. “But the next morning when you get up, your knees are shaking. I didn’t think I could make it to work.”

Imus said he was surprised more than anything about the diagnosis, since he’s been intent on following a healthy diet for the past decade.

He noted that doctors seemed reluctant to talk about one of his big worries: What prostate cancer treatment will mean for his sex life.

Comment:
I just wanted to comment here since you were apparently too delicate to leave the comments open on your profanity-ridden post about Meghan McCain. I think you are a chickensh!t misogynist. I’d appreciate it if you’d avoid being a hypocrite and deleting this post since your column appears to be filthier than a public urinal. Feel free to defend trashing Megan McCain on my column… you and Laura Ingraham make me physically ill.

I’d appreciate it, if you would kiss my ass too, but you most likely wouldn’t so….

The funny thing is, we Conservatives still believe in the first amendment. Liberals? Not so much. Well, maybe if it fits into their rather idiotic and Communist ideology.

Fox News does something so stupid that I can’t even defend it

Now I am about to post something that someone in the Conservative Blogosphere is going to say that proves that I am a fake Conservative. Well, I got one thing to say about that; Screw ’em 🙄

I will explain why this rather tweaks me off after the quote.

The Video: (Via The Politico)

Via The Raw Story:

On Fox & Friends Monday, host Steve Doocy took time to note that a former CNN employee, Mauricio Funes, has been elected President of El Salvador. “He is from a party down in El Salvador that is essentially the communist party,” Doocy explained.

“I wonder if he is just on a leave of absence from CNN, which, given his political inklings CNN could stand for the Communist News Network,” he said.

But Fox was so eager to tie CNN to communism that they couldn’t get the name of Venezuela’s leader right when making an unsourced allegation.

A second Fox pundit pointed out that Funes’ party, Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front, is liberal and said it was essentially communist. He then declared that FMLN “allegedly” has ties to Caesar Chavez.

Except that Caesar Chavez doesn’t lead a party in Latin America. He was a Mexican-American farm worker and labor activist who died in 1993.

It took a few moments before the Fox pundits corrected themselves — they were accusing the former CNN employee of being tied to Hugo Chavez, Venezuela’s sharp-tongued liberal president.

“Scary, guys,” quipped Fox’s Ainsley Earhardt.

Here’s why it bothers me:

Walter Reuther with Ceaser Chevez

Walter Reuther with Ceaser Chevez

Walter Reuther with Ceaser Chevez

Walter Reuther with Ceaser Chevez

Walter Reuther with Ceaser Chevez

Walter Reuther with Ceaser Chevez

Anyone that reads this Blog, other than to read just a single entry; knows that I come from a Union family. My Father is a retired General Motors worker, and a member of the United Auto Workers. Walter Reuther was, I personally feel, the United Auto Workers version of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

In fact:

After Pearl Harbor, Reuther strongly supported the war effort and refused to tolerate wildcat strikes that might disrupt munitions production. He worked for the War Manpower Commission, the Office of Production Management, and the War Production Board. He led a 113-day strike against General Motors in 1945-1946; it only partially succeeded. He never received the power he wanted to inspect company books or have a say in management, but he achieved increasingly lucrative wage and benefits contracts. In 1946 he narrowly defeated R. J. Thomas for the UAW presidency, and soon after he purged the UAW of all Communist elements. He was active in the Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO) umbrella as well, taking the lead in expelling eleven Communist-dominated unions from the CIO in 1949. – Source Wikipedia

So, you see. Fox News not only insulted the memory of a dead man, who was unable to defend himself. Fox News also insulted the friend of one the greatest union leaders and in the writers opinion, one of the greatest Americans ever.

Hopefully, this will explain to you why that; outside of Bill O’Reilly, I steadfastly refuse to watch Fox News Channel.

And before anyone chides me for cheering for someone who was a Democrat. The Democratic Party of Reuther and Chevez’s day was a totally different party. Unlike the Socialist swine of today, the Democratic Party of the 1940’s was actually a Pro-American party. A pity that it has changed.

Megan McCain continues to pimp herself out to the Liberals

I thought I was done with this topic, seeing I already ripped this feckless bitch a new one once already.

But it seems that the prissy one is not too keen on being messed with over her weight….

The Video:

My response is simple; you’re all ass bitch, where do you want me to start?

Laura Ingraham is not buying it either:

Memo to Meghan McCain: Enjoy the media coverage while it lasts, but know you’re being used. You are the flavor of the month in left-wing media land because you are a Republican bashing the GOP. Likewise, your dad is most popular among the same people when he is slamming his Republican brethren in full-blown “maverick” fashion. At least he backs up his views with a lifetime of sacrifice and public service. What is Ms. McCain’s own political, business, or real-world experience that lends credibility to her argument that the GOP needs to “moderate” (read: abandon its core principles)?

Now the Left is seizing on one satirical line from our show to paint Meghan as the victim of a right-wing hate crime. This comes from the same playbook responsible for the ongoing demonization of Rush Limbaugh — where his take on President Obama’s economic policies are misrepresented as some kind of attack on America.

The left’s over-heated indignation over my throw-away satirical line in a five-minute monologue is totally phony. They look the other way when obvious personal attacks are used against conservatives. Remember when Al Franken was the toast of all media for his book “Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot”? Last month The View’s Joy Behar called him a “fat guy”; and when I was a guest on The View a few years back she ridiculed Ann Coulter and me as “peroxide” blondes on Fox.

Next time, just for fun, Meghan should pretend that she’s had a change of heart and is now a pro-life conservative. Then she’ll really see how the Mean Girls treatment feels.

I got to say that I agree. Little miss prissy is pimping herself out to the left, all to get on there and yowl about how the “Far Right” or as it is commonly known; Conservatives with principles, are so mean and nasty. That my friends is a damn sellout. You don’t whore yourself out to the far left or the left in general and then expect the Conservatives and/or Republicans to still love you and think you are so cool.

The plain facts are that Megan McCain needs to take her silly prissy ass back to Democratic Party where she belongs, because it is quite obvious that she is not a real Conservative, but rather one of those wishy-washy Faux Conservatives, like we have in Congress now. Which explains why Obama is getting away with Taxing and Spending this country into a hole.

Let me state this again. Her point on Ann Coulter was very valid. But for Megan to get on a lefty network and do what she has done. Invalidates her claim. Just that simple.

Wow, waddya know? I made a posting about her and no f-bombs. 😀 I’m getting better at this. 😉 😛 😀
