The Republicans have zero right to complain about abuse of power

I must admit that for the first time, since my journey began into political blogging has began, much less, Conservative political blogging; I am divided on an issue. While I believe that what the Democrats are doing with the healthcare bill, with the protecting parts of the bill from being overturned is wrong. I also believe that the Republicans have zero right to complain.

This is what I mean

Let us not kid ourselves folks; The Bush Administration sold America using some very deceptive means, into a war in Iraq. The intelligence was bad; the Bush Administration knew this and did not care. They were determined to strike Saddam Hussein. So, while I am sympathetic towards the Republicans on this issue, I feel they have zero right to complain about this one, as it was the Republicans who backed the imperialistic actions of President Bush.

The last time I posted anything related to the John Birch Society on this Blog; my hits just about went off the charts. My servers had smoke rolling out of them and I could have sworn that I heard that said server yelping a bit in agony. Okay, the second part was not true. Nevertheless, there were a good deal of people, that were very highly interested in that video; and this was before this blog really even took off.

This is Robert Welch, he was the founder of the John Birch Society. Contrary to what people like, Rachel Maddow might think; the JBS is not what the liberals and some Conservatives like to think that it is. Here is Mr. Welch giving a speech in 1974 telling of the goals of the Society. Now, honestly, where have you heard this stuff before? If you said Ron Paul in 2008, you get a gold star, if you say the majority of Conservatives TODAY; you get another big gold star. As old as this video is; its contents are timely, considering the mess that we are in today.

Democrats pass another hurdle towards nationalized healthcare

I really do not have much to add to this story, as I have written on it before and my personal feelings are well known. I will say this; the Democrats own this Healthcare debate now. The democrats have successfully rammed this bill down the throat of the American people —- and now they own it. I mean, voting at 1:00a.m., to insure its passage. It is a disgrace and the Democrats now own it. That means, no more blaming Bush, no more blaming Republicans, No more calling us who opposed this idiotic idea Racists, Tea Baggers, and whatever else the socialists call us. This is their baby now; we made our voices heard and they ignored us, and now, they own it.

They own it and they will own it come 2010 and 2012, they also will own it, when the bill goes into effect in 2014 and Medicare cuts begin and the folks begin to complain. When the folks begin to complain, we that opposed it will have one thing to say. You voted for that socialist President and Congress; now deal with the consequences!

Now, do I believe it will actually make it to the President’s desk? I have no idea, at this point. Nevertheless, it looks like it might. If it does, we, (meaning us bloggers) will continue to Blog against the socialist agenda of the President and this Congress. One can always hope that it will not or even Pray, if that is what you believe in. But at this point, I think what we as Conservatives and “Right of center” types, can do at this point is get our houses in order and stand behind those who are running on the Republican ticket and come 2010 do that which will stop the socialist nonsense; and that is vote.

Auschwitz, Jews, Conservatives, Twitter and Me

Some good news for a change this late weekend evening:

The “Arbeit macht frei” sign stolen from Auschwitz in southern Poland has been found in the north and five men have been arrested, police say.

They said the metal sign from the main gate, which symbolises for many the atrocities of Nazi Germany, had been cut into three pieces.

A major search was launched after the sign was stolen before dawn on Friday.

Its theft, the motive for which was not being reported, caused outrage in Israel and among Polish politicians.

Five men in their 20s or 30s were detained and were being taken to Krakow for questioning, a police spokeswoman said.

More than a million people – 90% of them Jews – were murdered by the Nazis at Auschwitz during World War II.

Pawel Sawicki, a spokesman for Auschwitz museum, said the recovery of the sign was an “enormous relief”.

“We are extremely grateful to the police who have done fantastic work,” he told AFP news agency.

“This symbol, probably one of the most important of the past century, can be put back in its place.”

The museum is preparing to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Auschwitz-Birkenau's liberation by Soviet troops on 27 January.

I feel the need to fire up the handy word processer and really let my writing juices flow on this one. First, I am quite glad the sign was found — although, I am saddened that this sign was found cut up. I believe that the criminal thugs that did this ought to face the firing squad for their actions.

The reason why this story rather hit me in an odd way is for two reasons. One, my grandfather’s two brothers, Frank and Harlan, both fought in Germany. Frank got his index finger blown off, by a grenade that exploded too early. He never was able to use that finger again, of any great use anyhow. Another reason is this, while I have never been a rabid Zionist, because quite frankly, some of the more radical elements of Zionism I find to be rather annoying and because, quite frankly, Zionism has been turned into a well lucrative racket for some of the parties involved.  Not only this, but there is a great deal of race baiting that goes on in those circles, towards to the Arab race – more so after 9/11, so I have noticed. Having said that; I cannot sit and act as of what Hitler did was no big deal — It was a big deal, for many Jews and Americans as well, and to joke about that horrific event; that is just inexcusable.

The other reason is, my keen awareness and interest in the subject of history, notably the era of the 1940’s; I am well aware of the unspeakable horrors that took place to the Jews, during the reign of Hitler. I personally recommend, that you please, and I do mean, please read this blog posting by Rachel Lucas, she is in England, and she traveled with her husband to Poland to the death camps. Please, have your tissues handy, because if you do not cry, I will wonder about you.

There is another issue as well. I was not going to blog about all. However, see this story did come out. I will inform you of something that happened to me earlier today on twitter. Some person on twitter thought that mentioning the Nazi death camp and President Barack Obama would be cute. She went on to say that, she was joking and that she was half-Jewish. I personally do not give a damn what she is, what she said was highly offensive. Now, why would I get all bend out of shape over something like that? I highly suggest that you go read this blog posting by Rachel Lucas, and then you might have an understanding as to why I was so highly bothered by that idiotic remark.

As for as this writer is concerned, anyone who makes crass comments, invoking the President of the United States of America with images of Hitler or Nazi death camps is no better than the Big Government socialists that are trying to destroy our economy, free market system, and our freedoms. Let this be a warning to anyone on twitter, you make a stupid comment as the one made in this writing, and I happen to see it. I will block you and advise all those who follow me to do so as well. There is no excuse whatsoever for that sort of nonsense, at all.

Our President may be a member of the Democratic Party; he may be, in fact, a big Government socialist. However, he is not, nor has he ever, nor will he ever be responsible for the death of anyone of the Jewish race. Further, I feel that it is a disgrace to the memory of those, who lost their lives, during the reign of terror of Hitler and the third Reich. Making illusions to that image is not only was it not funny, but it is an asinine thing to do.

I thought that those, who share my beliefs in fiscal Conservatism, were wiser than this; I hope that I am not mistaken.

This was done on the bus so all could hear.

This is what they feel, deep down. They don’t think like us, they lie without compunction, they want us dead or out of the way, because they are not fools like the Propositional Nationalists.

They know what a country really is; it is its land and resources. As long as we are here, we’re in their way.

I am stunned at the stupidity of our leaders. Either they go to war in a place like Kosovo and learn nothing about it and why it became the way it did, or they are biding their time until full scale civil war breaks out in the USA, so martial law can be enforced and their power grows exponentially.

Personally, I think the latter will be the case.

The real entitlements are never mentioned. The “defense” budget is an entitlement for the military-security complex about which President Eisenhower warned us 50 years ago. A person has to be crazy to believe that the United States, “the world’s only superpower,” protected by oceans on its East and West and by puppet states on its North and South, needs a “defense” budget larger than the military spending of the rest of the world combined.

The military budget is nothing but an entitlement for the military-security complex. To hide this fact, the entitlement is disguised as protection against “enemies” and passed through the Pentagon.

I say cut out the middleman and simply allocate a percentage of the federal budget to the military-security complex. This way we won’t have to concoct reasons for invading other countries and go to war in order for the military-security complex to get its entitlement. It would be a lot cheaper just to give them the money outright, and it would save a lot of lives and grief at home and abroad.

The U.S. invasion of Iraq had nothing whatsoever to do with American national interests. It had to do with armaments profits and with eliminating an obstacle to Israeli territorial expansion. The cost of the war, aside from the $3 trillion, was over 4,000 dead Americans, over 30,000 wounded and maimed Americans, tens of thousands of broken American marriages and lost careers, 1 million dead Iraqis, 4 million displaced Iraqis and a destroyed country.

All of this was done for the profits of the military-security complex and to make paranoid Israel, armed with 200 nuclear weapons, feel “secure.”

My proposal would make the military-security complex even more wealthym as the companies would get the money without having to produce the weapons. Instead, all the money could go for multimillion dollar bonuses and dividend payouts to shareholders. No one, at home or abroad, would have to be killed, and the taxpayer would be better off.

Obama says, ‘Less Talk, More Action!’

I really hate to be the one to mock the President, but when Mr.’ Magic One’, does stuff like this; it is quite hard not to.

This story from the politico is quite amusing:

COPENHAGEN — A visibly angry Barack Obama threw down the gauntlet at China and other developing nations Friday, declaring that the time has come “not to talk but to act” on climate change.

Emerging from a multinational meeting boycotted by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Obama warned delegates that U.S. offers of funding for poor nations would remain on the table “if and only if” developing nations, including China, agreed to international monitoring of their greenhouse gas emissions.

“I have to be honest, as the world watches us … I think our ability to take collective action is in doubt and it hangs in the balance,” Obama told the COP-15 plenary session as hope faded for anything more than a vague political agreement.

“The time for talk is over, this is the bottom line: We can embrace this accord, take a substantial step forward. We can do that, and everyone who is in this room will be part of an historic endeavor, or we can choose delay,” he said.

The problem here is that the President looks and sounds more like a spoiled rotten brat, who is obviously not getting his way with the World Community on Global Warming. Since the outing of the e-mails by the global warming fanatics, which show an obvious attempt to cover up data, it appears that the rest of the world is just not signing on to this idiotic nonsense. The only thing that the President of the United States is accomplishing is making the United States of America look like egotistical idiots. Before anyone brings it up in the comments section; Yes, I know, Bush did much of the same thing, during the Iraq War, I criticized him for it as well.

I will be honest with you; I am all for caring for the planet and keep the environment clean. The problem I have with it is that the science data is incomplete; further, the entire environment issue and the global warming issue became politicized; which essentially caused the issue to become the liberal environment groups against the rich business owners. In essence, the entire issue became a class warfare battle and I believe that it never should have become that at all and this sort of elitist foot stomping by the President is living proof of that assertion.

In short, the President is wasting the American people’s time and tax money, by going to this idiotic summit and trying to exert his will upon these other Country. Because it has become is obvious to me, that these other Countries are just not on board with this far-left zealotry to supposedly save the planet. This browbeating of the other nations, in all honesty is not actually going to save our planet, but rather line the pockets of the investors, like Al Gore, who are invested heavily in this global warming issue. The President simply needs to cut his losses, chalk his global warming front as a loss, much like his other fronts; and move on.

It was quite obvious to me that in this video that Laura was trying to be funny and Bill was having none of it. He even said the word ‘bullshit’ and they edited it out. I sat and watched this one unfold and I though, “uh-oh, Laura has ventured into the area where not many dare to go…”

I guess you could say the Laura was teasing him, but I don’t think Bill liked it one bit.

Obama and the Democrats play politics with the Nation’s Defense

My, what the Democrats will not to pass their idiotic socialistic healthcare bill! Captain Ed over at HotAir.com alerts to the fact that Michael Goldfarb has a source up on the hill; what he is telling Michael is unbelievable:

While the Democrats appease Senator Lieberman, they still have to worry about other recalcitrant Democrats including Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson. Though Lieberman has been out front in the fight against the public option and the Medicare buy-in, Nelson was critical of both. Now that those provisions appear to have been stripped from the bill, Lieberman may get on board, but Nelson’s demand that taxpayer money not be used to fund abortion has still not been met. According to a Senate aide, the White House is now threatening to put Nebraska’s Offutt Air Force Base on the BRAC list if Nelson doesn’t fall into line.

Offutt Air Force Base employs some 10,000 military and federal employees in Southeastern Nebraska. As our source put it, this is a “naked effort by Rahm Emanuel and the White House to extort Nelson’s vote.” They are “threatening to close a base vital to national security for what?” asked the Senate staffer.

Indeed, Offutt is the headquarters for US Strategic Command, the successor to Strategic Air Command, and not by accident. STRATCOM was located in the middle of the country for strategic reasons. Its closure would be a massive blow to the economy of the state of Nebraska, but it would also be another example of this administration playing politics with our national security.

I will be straight and honest with you. During the 2008 election, I thought Michael Goldfarb’s outlandish behavior was asinine; I still do. However, this was one hell of a good catch. Goodness, what a better way to fuel the conspiracy theory idiots like Orly Taitz, who still believe that President Obama is some sort of a covert Muslim or whatever the hell it is that they think about him now.

I will say this, this story, if true, reeks of desperation. The Democrats are obviously desperate to pass this healthcare bill. Why is this? Because they know that if this bill goes down in flames, the Democrats are sunk. They already know that the 2010 elections are not going to be kind to them; the deep sixing of this bill will only make that worse. The problem is, seeing that the public option was stripped out; you have people like Markos Moulitsas saying that the bill should be killed. Either way, this is going to be a huge disaster for the Democrats. They promised change, they promised healthcare for everyone, they overreached like nothing I have ever seen before and now, they are going to pay for it dearly. Frankly, I could not be happier; you oversell yourself and promise the moon, the stars, unicorns and rainbows, and then do not deliver — then you suffer the wrath of the voters come election time.

The point to this blog entry is this; do not make promises that you cannot keep. If you do, you will pay and it is obvious to me and every other blogger out there that the Democrats made all sorts of promises to the American people, during the election of 2008 and now they cannot deliver. Because of this, they are stooping to desperate measures. Measures which will hurt our National Security, for this the Democrats will pay come 2010 and 2012.

You can file this one under the tab of “politically correctness” gone horribly amuck. Seems some idiot school out in Taunton, MA suspended and ordered an 8-year-old child to undergo a psychological evaluation for drawing a picture of Jesus. Yes, that is right folks, for drawing a picture of Jesus.

A Taunton father is outraged after his 8-year-old son was sent home from school and required to undergo a psychological evaluation after drawing a stick-figure picture of Jesus Christ on the cross.

The father said he got a call earlier this month from Maxham Elementary School informing him that his son, a second-grade student, had created a violent drawing. The image in question depicted a crucified Jesus with Xs covering his eyes to signify that he had died on the cross. The boy wrote his name above the cross.

It does make sense that the Church community is quite upset over this, Fox News Radio reports:

Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League agreed, telling FOX News Radio: “We’re going to question the mental state of the child for simply drawing a picture of Christ crucified? There’s something serious going on this school.”

I am going to be totally honest with you; there have been times when I have totally disagreed with Bill Donohue and I have, in the past, thought that his tactics were a bit thuggish in nature —- This, is not one of them times. I totally agree; something or someone at this school, made a rather bone-headed judgment call.

It also appears that the city is not too happy about it either:

Castro said city residents are outraged over the story. The mayor, who is on vacation in Florida, was immediately notified once the story broke. “It’s obvious this was not handled properly by school officials,” he said.

Castro said the school district has been ordered to reimburse the family for the psychological exam as well as implement procedures to “make sure similar incidents are avoided in the future.”
The superintendent, who answers to the mayor, did not return calls for a comment.

Call it a hunch, but I do believe that this superintendent is going to be looking for a new job very soon.

Lieberman keeps his promise

It seems that Senator Joe Lieberman is keeping his promise to vote against the current Healthcare reform bill, in its present form. Susan Mandrak over at Crooks and Liars calls Lieberman a “spiteful little toad” and to be quite honest with you, she is not that far way from the truth. Joe Lieberman, I believe anyhow, is doing all of obstruction for one reason and one reason alone — To get back at the Democratic Party for his tossing overboard by the Democratic Caucus in 2006. For all of his bluster about loving America and for wanting to save America for the huge debt that we going incur from this disastrous bill by Lieberman, I believe that it is nothing more than political retribution.

The truth is about this healthcare bill by Harry Reid is that it is nothing more than a disaster. Even the party leaders themselves do not even know what it is this bill. So, how are they going to vote on it? In fact, the White House is now saying to Reid to cut a deal with Lieberman, which may in fact happen. But then again, if Lieberman says no deal and some of the more moderate Democrats do not play along, this bill could be, in fact, dead in the water. This, from my political standpoint would be a good thing.

Reading the round up of the political blogs, it seems that the far left and even the no so far left, wants Lieberman’s head on the platter. It does look like Joe is going to be the “sacrificial Jew” for the good of America, which could get him elected in the 2010 elections or whenever Lieberman is supposed to run again. Needless to say, this story far from over, and it should be interesting to follow.

I present this as “Exhibit A”, to the fact that the libertarian movement has been infiltrated by Anti-War leftists who hate America, our Military and why they should be stripped of their citizenship and deported out of our fine Country and into another country; like say, North Korea, Venezuela or maybe even Communist China. Not to be rude about this, but it just so happens, that if that dumb kids fellow Countrymen had not giving refuge and comfort to those who would seek to destroy America — Namely Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda; the damned kid would still possibly have his damned leg. Not to mention the fact that on September 11, 2001, our Country was attacked by Islamic terrorists who did more than just destroy a leg. It killed 2,996 of our people.

However, of course, you cannot tell this to the likes of Lew Rockwell and his bastard gang of leftists who hate this damn Country; they still believe that George W. Bush ordered those planes into the trade center towers. What really troubles me, is that the author of this posting is none other than Dr. Lawrence Vance, who is supposedly a Born-Again Christian. How anyone can harbor such hatred for this Country and our Nation’s Military and still claim to be ANY kind of a Christian is beyond me.

When I still was on the left; as little as that was, in terms of what I believed the Democratic Party to be about, I was always under the impression that Iraq was the war that was very unjustified and that Afghanistan was in fact, the good war that we were fighting to kill or capture Osama Bin Laden. I heard that from the left and I believed that myself. As it turns out, that was nothing more than a damned lie and the far-left knows it. The good majority of the far left either believes that George W. Bush ordered the attacks, to win his popularity or to justify going into Iraq. The rest believe that we had it coming or deserved the attacks because of our evil capitalistic society. This picture and caption are living proof of this; which is why, I left the liberal left and stopped voting for the Democratic Party.

Just to let everyone know, I said my piece on this and I am not interested in debating it. Therefore, I am shutting the comments off; because I want this posting to stand on its own.

Update:  After reading this entry again, I realize that I did leave out one important thing. My apologies for that, I do sometimes forget to include stuff pertinent to the entry at times; A.D.H.D. does that to a fellow. Yes, I am serious about having that little disability. Anyhow, the thing I forgot to include in this little shoving of the hatred of the libertarian leftists, into their faces, is the following:

There is one unifying cause that the libertarian leftists and the socialist liberal left is their inbred hatred of war and of anything military. Further more, the libertarians and liberals hate the current state of the Government, albeit for very different reasons. The libertarians hate the size of the Government and the fact that it has become too large, and too regulatory — Which is something I can identify with myself. The socialist left, however, is angry because they cannot control that large Government. The Socialist left does not mind big Government, as long as they can control it. A perfect example of this can be found here.

So, again, the reason why I lump the libertarian leftists in with the socialist is this, not because they are one in the same, they are not, even I know this. However, it is because the libertarian leftists are totally “In bed” with the anti-war socialist leftists who resent any sort of American values or capitalism or defense of the Republic. This has been proven many times with the vile acts at the Military recruiting office in Berkley California and such matters. Same goes for the Paleo-Conservatives, They too are “in bed” with the socialist left, when it comes to foreign policy. It has been that way for years and will continue to be that way. The difference between a Paleo-Conservative and a libertarian is one thing —protectionism. This is what the Democratic Party believed in, before globalists like Bill Clinton came on the scene and passed NAFTA. It should be noted, however, that the NAFTA agreement did not pass until the Republicans took back the Congress, and Clinton became an instant moderate.

Nevertheless, my feelings toward these libertarian leftists, their Paleo-Conservative counterparts, and their cousins the Anti-War socialist left remain unabated.

Wonkette Jumps the Shark

Count me as someone who is very disgusted with this sort of disgusting bile that is now being shown on Wonkette. Whoever wrote this should be fired.

It has been over a month since Teabaggers from across the nation visited Capitol Hill to tear up physical copies of legislation and sit around Nancy Pelosi’s office like schmucks, because of her plans to create another Dachau. But next Tuesday it will be the Senate’s turn! Folks’ll walk into Senate office buildings and pretend to die, because they’re pussies, and won’t die for real.

This should be pretty funny. Probably a good 75% of Senators will see presumably dead bodies on the ground and do what they usually do, which is try to fuck them before they go cold. Try keeping your death gag up during that, lie-mongers.

The reason why this bothers me so bad is this is the same damn group that went after me, when I lost my cool and said something on twitter that I should not have said. However, it is okay for Wonkette to write something like this? It is a double standard and it is wrong. Something should be done about it. However, because we all know that liberals can get away with such nonsense and we Conservatives cannot, nothing will be done.

I just have to wonder, what does Obama think of such rubbish and does he endorse it?

Barack Obama ran for president as a man of the people, standing up to Wall Street as the global economy melted down in that fateful fall of 2008. He pushed a tax plan to soak the rich, ripped NAFTA for hurting the middle class and tore into John McCain for supporting a bankruptcy bill that sided with wealthy bankers “at the expense of hardworking Americans.” Obama may not have run to the left of Samuel Gompers or Cesar Chavez, but it's not like you saw him on the campaign trail flanked by bankers from Citigroup and Goldman Sachs. What inspired supporters who pushed him to his historic win was the sense that a genuine outsider was finally breaking into an exclusive club, that walls were being torn down, that things were, for lack of a better or more specific term, changing.

On President Obama’s Nobel Speech

I really was not going to blog about this subject; seeing that I already made my feelings known. I read a bit of the speech and I was not overly impressed or shocked, some on the right liked the speech and some that outright hated the speech; some even thought it sounded a bit Bush-like.

I will have to agree with Ed here however, Obama was smart enough include a reminder that the United States of America has not avenged attacks on our Country, but has also stood up and went after those who sought to eliminate a class of people; namely Hitler’s Germany. This is why I cannot allow myself to be painted as a “Paleo-Conservative.” Because it is the Paleo-Conservatives, who feel that FDR going after Hitler was, in fact, wrong. This is because they did not, and still no not believe in Foreign Interventionism. Let me be the first to say, that there a good number of Jewish Republicans who are, to this very day, very grateful for FDR and his decision to get involved in the situation in Germany.

Another point as well, Obama was thrown a curve ball here and The President did what anyone else would do in his situation. President Obama knew what this award essentially was, and that was a slap in the face to President George W. Bush. President Obama did what any other civilized human being would do. He accepted the award, acknowledged that he did not really deserve such an honor, and went home. This is why I do not buy into the whole Sean Hannity idiotic talking point that he should have refused the award. I also will commend the President for essentially telling the Norwegians, “Thanks, but no thanks” to their offer for him to bask in the victory of getting the award. This shows them how President Obama really felt about getting the award in the first place. Some Conservatives may want to criticize him for doing this; I will not be one of them.

So, in closing, I simply say to the President —- good job. Thank you for reminding the rest of the world, why it is, that America is still called the greatest Nation on earth. — And please, Mr. President more speeches like this, praising America — instead of apologizing for it.

Healthcare-Gate Continues

I call it Healthcare-Gate because that it is about this whole debacle has become, a rather ridiculous spectacle which is going to cause a great deal of damage to the Democratic Party. First, there was word that the “public option” was being dropped, but now there is word that rumor was untrue. Therefore, at this point, it is anyone’s guess as to what is going to happen. The main point is that the majority of Americans do not want this idiotic so-called reform being foisted upon them and they are getting anyway. The sad truth is that this so-called reform bill is going to mean higher taxes for everyone and not just the so-called “Rich,” what that means anymore is anyone’s guess. The Democrats will get their bill and they will pay for it when the 2010 and 2012 elections come around. Hopefully, the Republicans will work to unwind the damage done by the Socialists who want to destroy out free market capitalist system.

Now I fully expect for one of the African-American Congressmen, who are essentially President Obama’s attack dogs, to go after Dick Cheney and call him a racist. Which is about normal for those types.

Obama to Conyers: Stop Demeaning Me!

The phone rings, it is the President wanting to know why a senator has been demeaning him in the media. The President is calling a firebrand Republican Senator, it must be, correct? Well, no. actually, President Obama was calling one of his own — Democrats, I mean —- you did not think that I meant THAT did you?!?!?!?! Anyhow:

President Barack Obama recently called Rep. John Conyers Jr. to express his frustrations with the Judiciary Committee chairman’s criticism.

In an interview with The Hill, Conyers said his opinions of Obama’s policies on healthcare reform and the war in Afghanistan have not sat well with the president.

According to the lawmaker, the president picked up the phone several weeks ago to  find out why  Conyers was “demeaning” him.

Obama’s decision to challenge Conyers highlights a sensitivity to criticism the president has taken on the left. Conyers’s critical remarks, many of which have been reported on the liberal-leaning Huffington Post, appear to have irritated the president, known for his calm demeanor.

Conyers, the second-longest-serving member of the House, said, “[Obama] called me and told me that he heard that I was demeaning him and I had to explain to him that it wasn’t anything personal, it was an honest difference on the issues. And he said, ‘Well, let’s talk about it.’”

Sitting in the Judiciary Committee’s conference room two days after Obama delivered his speech on Afghanistan, the 23-term lawmaker said he wasn’t in the mood to “chat.”

Obama’s move to send in 30,000 troops to Afghanistan by the summer of 2010 has clearly disappointed Conyers.

He said he intends to press his case in writing soon.

I will give John Conyers credit on one thing. He is not shy about speaking his mind. Neither is his wife. This is the husband of the woman, who went toe to toe with another member of the Detroit City Council. When I say went toe to toe; I am not overstating the truth one bit — Because that little confrontation got ugly —VERY ugly. It got ugly almost to the point of the police being called. There were no punches thrown, but there was a whole bunch of hollering. This very much made me pity and respect Mr. Conyers on a completely new level. Any man that can live with a woman with that shrill of a voice and not beat the tar out of her within minutes has definitely earned my respect.

Second, as the article says, Obama seems to be a bit touchy, or as it says, sensitive about critics from the left. Oh, he just ignores us on the right, seeing we are crazy and all. If you believe that, I have got land in a Texas swamp to sell you for cheap. Let me tell you something, the President is no dummy, because if he was, he would not be in the White House and I would be running the Country. The President knows about that little thing called political capital and the President is well aware that he is burning through that capital, quicker than a Chicago minute. The President also knows that he needs to finish the job that Bush started in Afghanistan, otherwise people like me, and other Conservatives will never let him live it down. The last thing he wants to do, is pull a Vietnam bonehead move and pull us out, at least before we give a good collage try to finishing that war over there.

This story of Democrat vs. Democrat when it comes to the war is going to play out in a very interesting manner. Where it puts Obama is going to be interesting to watch as well.

Oh My: Obama’s Approval Rating Slips to 47%

This is a bit of a shock… Well, maybe not:

Any slight bump in support Obama received coincident with his new Afghanistan policy proved to be very short-lived, as his approval rating returned to below the majority level by the weekend, and slipped further to 47% in Dec. 4-6 polling.

Afghanistan is just one of many high-profile issues with which the president is dealing. Immediate public reaction to his new Afghanistan policy showed 51% in favor and 40% opposed, according to a Dec. 2 USA Today/Gallup poll.

Obama spent part of Sunday on Capitol Hill talking to lawmakers as they continue working on healthcare reform legislation. In the most recent Gallup update, more Americans said they would advise their members to vote against healthcare legislation than said they would advise them to vote for it.

It is not much of a shock to me, especially if you take in account all of the tried and failed policies that the President has tried and ultimately failed in doing. The stimulus for all of its hype, bluster, and yes, money spent, has failed to create any meaningful jobs; especially here in Michigan, where things are bad.  The Democrats, specifically Obama had the American people believing that his continuation of the Bush Stimulus plan was going to cause the Stock Market to roar back and the jobs would come back and everything would be roses and unicorns and everyone would be working and happy. You see how that all worked out, did you not? Is it any wonder that even liberals now are calling their own lot useless?

Not only this, but just look at his performance with the Afghanistan; the President’s dithering was enough to make any Military man angry and even the most positive person nervous. Then there is Nationalized Healthcare bill that Obama’s Democrats are trying to foist on the Nation, even when most polls say that the American people are quite happy with their healthcare plans and with Medicare and do not want the Federal Government changing that.

The only thing that really shocks me is how fast the President’s approval ratings have dropped. It took six whole years for George W. Bush’s approval ratings to plummet. Even this did not take place, until the Iraq War had taken a bad turn in 2006. In fact, it has taken President Obama six months for his approval ratings to drop to their current level. This spin, of course, from the Democrats is that it is because of the press of the opposition, like Fox News, that has created a negative climate in which for the President to operate. But the truth of the matter is, that the Democrats have overreached once again, this time to a maddening degree and the only people that the Democrats have to blame for the dropping in Obama’s poll numbers, is themselves.

December 7, 1941 – 68 Years ago today. The empire of Japan attacked the United States Military Base at what was then called the the Territory of Hawaii. (The United States had not taken possession of that territory making it the 49’th state yet.)

It is a day, that will live…. In infamy…

I do not know quite why it is that I get so emotional when the anniversary of the attack of Pearl Harbor comes around; but do I ever. I guess it is because it affected my personal family a great deal. My grandfather’s two brothers, Frank and Harlan Hayes both were in the United States Army and my grandmother’s stepbrother Jess Runyan served also in the Military in World War II. My Great-Uncle Frank and Harlan both served in Germany, with Frank getting his finger blown off, while tossing a hand grenade that went off too soon. They were able to reattach it, but he never was able to use the finger very well after that. I do not know much about Harlen, or I would share his story. Jess Runyan came back from World War II with the condition now known as traumatic stress disorder or as they used to call it — shell-shocked. Jess was never able to work and collected military benefits, and I think social security for the rest of his life. Jess never married. For what it is worth, all of these people lived in Dalton, Georgia, which is where a good amount of my family is from.

Another reason is because, damn it, I just love America; since when did that become a federal crime? This Nation is the best-damned Nation on earth. Yes, we are having some bad times here; the economy is bad, jobs are scarce. However, the status of this Nation could be much worse; we could be living in same situation as North Korea or even communist China. I guess Pearl Harbor is a personal one for me, because I happen to be a history buff and because of my family’s involvement in that war. I believe also that the Nation’s isolationism also caused the attack as well, not to mention the economic warfare that was being committed against Japan by FDR. This same mentality of isolationism is what had affected the United States the day that the September 11 attacks in 2001. We were different Nation then and we are now a different Nation since those attacks. The tragic thing about the 9/11 attacks, is that they became quite politicized. When the attack on Pear Harbor took place and then the subsequent war began; America stopped being Democrats and Republicans; and just started being Americans. The sad thing is that after 9/11, there was a short burst of American patriotism. However, it did not last; there are many reasons for this, I believe the biggest reason is times have changed greatly. I could get into all that, but this blog entry would end up being over 50 pages long.

I think the biggest and best thing that Americans can do for those who perished in World War II is to never forget what happened and to work to ensure that it never happens again. We must ensure that the politics of our Nation or any other Nation gets that sort of ugly point again. This is why I believe that wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are worth every last dime and worth every life lost. There are those that say that fighting that war in Afghanistan is not worth it and that it is another Vietnam. I disagree with that nonsense. ANY War that is worth fighting is worth winning. I just wish those on the Socialist Left realized that as well. There was a time, when Democrats actually believed in fighting wars. This all changed in the late 1960’s with the rise of the socialist and hippy movements. Vietnam was essentially lost because of the socialists that had taken over the Media at the time. Walter Cronkite’s literal lying to the Nation about the Tet Offensive was a perfect example of that. Thankfully, there were Democrats who crossed over, for whatever reasoning, who still believed in defending this Nation and believed the Wars could be won, and because of that, and because of President’s like Ronald Reagan; we have the great Military we have today. It is my personal hope, that President Barack Obama will continue that respect for our Nation’s Military. Although, as of late President Obama’s performance as a leader, when it comes to the war in Afghanistan has been dismal at best.

Therefore, in conclusion, I simply end with this — May we never forget December 7, 1941. Because to do so, would be a horrible tragedy.

Chris Matthews discusses Palin’s Birther comments

I saw this over at Hot Air and I thought I would post it here. Chris Matthews sits with Patrick Buchanan and discusses Palin’s rather idiotic Birther comments that she gave during an interview; and her rather lame ass attempt to walk the cat backward. I am sorry to say this, but Allah Pundit was much too kind to this people.  These deserve no more attention or credit, than those of the Alex Jones mentality, which is what they are, tin foil hat wearing idiots. I also disagree with the later portion of the video, which I did not include, where Pat Buchanan says that it is smart politics to disagree with them and want their support. I would no more want their support, than I would want a Nazi skinhead’s support. Which is in the same league, I believe myself.

My biggest issue with these damned birther nuts is the fact that they have no verifiable proof of their claims. The only so-called proof that they have for this stupid claim is just some anonymous idiot, who claims to be forensic expert that says the Certificate of live birth, is a fake; who by the way is promoted by a shrieking harpy, who nothing more than a foaming at the mouth rabid Zionist. A Zionist who has been exposed a fraud and even asked Larry Sinclair to lie under oath in court. No, I am not talking about Pamela Geller. I am referring to Orly Taitz. Pamela is a nice woman, little on the screechy side for my liking, but that is why God invented earplugs and volume controls.

The fact remains is this; Palin should not have gone there and she did. If she tries to run for office, whoever runs against here will use this against her.
