Democrats are trying to keep President Obama’s Presidential records secret

This is not much of a surprise, but it is news:

Via WorldNetDaily:

Barack Obama may have 15 months left in his first term, but his supporters in Congress are already preparing for the day he’ll be an ex-president by introducing legislation that will allow him to keep his personal and presidential documents secret.

According to Judicial Watch, the Washington-based government corruption fighting organization, the proposal by Rep. Edolphus Towns of New York’s 10th District is “an obvious effort to protect President Barack Obama.”

“Ironically, Obama revoked a similar George W. Bush order in one of his first official acts as president. In 2001, Bush penned an executive order severely limiting public access to his presidential records. Shortly after swearing in, Obama killed it as part of his much-ballyhooed commitment to government transparency. At the time, the new president claimed that he was giving the American people greater access to ‘historic documents,'” Judicial Watch said.

“If the Democrats’ proposed measure (Presidential Records Act Amendments) becomes law, former presidents will be allowed to assert a new ‘constitutionally based privilege’ against disclosing records of their liking. Here is how it would work; the archivist of the United States would be required to notify the former president, as well as the incumbent, of intentions to make records public. Anything that either the former or current president claims should be kept private won’t be released,” the organization explained.

How ironic; the very President, who threw President Bush privacy under the bus, is now trying to protect his own skin; and with all of the scandal that is slowing trickling out of the White House, I do not think anyone should be shocked over this at all.

We should have left the arrested hikers in Iran

Debbie shares their letter to a Berkley professor:

Dear As’ad,

I have to say that I am disappointed. Not only was you class one of my favorite’s at UCB, but I even talked up your blog to Josh in prison, and frequently pointed people to it before our arrest.

You say you “heard” that Josh Fattal is an Israeli. Where did you hear this patently false information? Josh is Jewish, not Israeli. People have also said that I, a corn-fed boy from rural Minnesota, am Jewish.
Sarah too. We are not. . . .

Why do people assume that because Josh is Jewish, he is Israeli . . .? Josh is NOT Israeli. Josh’s father is Israeli. Josh is American. . . .

The US engages in “imperialist feminism”. . . . The US government has been on a path of destruction in the Middle East for the past 60-70 years. . . .

Iran arrested the wrong people and they knew it all along. Neither our guards nor our investigators would go so far as to call us spies. None of us are spies. We are the opposite of spies. I have studied Arabic (which I speak fluently) and have spent years in the Arab world with the purpose of exposing injustice, especially but not exclusively the injustices of the US government. Before our arrest, I published a piece in the Nation about a previously unknown US backed death squad titled “Iraq’s New Death Squad” and another in Mother Jones magazine called “Sheikh Down” about US military corruption and use of militias in Iraq. Check these out if you need some evidence of our integrity. . . .

I insist that you correct your factual errors. Josh is not Israeli. Josh is a Jew and Josh is an anti-Zionist.

The voices of nuanced analysis are sadly few, especially in this county [DS: sic]. You have been one of those voices to me. . . .

Sincerely,

Shane Bauer

Holy cats! We let those haters out of Iran? My goodness. Should have let them rot in prison. 😡

Report: Dept. of Energy brushed off warnings

This scandal is getting worse and worse for the Obama White House.

From The Politico:

Energy Department officials shrugged off calls to consult with the Justice Department before changing the terms of Solyndra’s loan in a way that put taxpayers on the hook first when the company later ran out of money, according to newly released Obama administration emails.

The advice came from Gary Burner, the chief financial officer at the Treasury Department’s Federal Financing Bank, who urged DOE staffers on Feb. 10 to contact DOJ as they considered restructuring the California solar company’s $535 million loan guarantee.

“Unless DOE has other authorities, these adjustments may require approval of the Department of Justice,” Burner wrote to Susan Richardson, chief counsel in DOE’s Loan Programs Office, and Frances Nwachuku, director of portfolio management in the same office.

“Let me know if you need the name of a contact at DOJ,” he added.

I advise you to go read the rest of that, as it looks like the more this story comes out, the more corrupt the Obama administration is looking.

They say Bush was corrupt, Bush could not hold a candle to this President.

Update on Church

I wrote here yesterday that I had an encounter with a man from a Church here locally. I had planned on going to that Church this morning; but I was unable to get my tired self out of bed this morning. So, I went to the evening worship service. I must say, that I did enjoy the service and will most likely be going there, for now at least. First impressions are everything; and I was impressed.

It is a Missionary Baptist Church; I have been to one other Baptist Church of the same stripe, and it was nice, but very small. I decided against going to that Church. Well, this one is bigger and has a good deal of people in it.The people were very friendly and the Pastor an older, but very intelligent and friendly man.

I am prayerfully considering the whole matter and I ask for your prayers going forward in it.

The Pakistan Problem

This is a very good read. I think everyone should read it.

It’s by Walter Russell Mead over at the American Interest:

“If the Pakistanis don’t change their minds, the US must now look to secure its interests in postwar Afghanistan without Pakistan’s help and even over its determined opposition. Pakistan’s plan for postwar Afghanistan (a country controlled by radical Islamists in a close relationship with Pakistan who are committed to jihad in South and Central Asia and elsewhere) would turn the country into a petri dish for terror plots and a magnet for deranged and violent fanatics from all over the world. Preventing this outcome is why the US has been at war in Afghanistan for so long; securing that outcome is the chief strategic goal of a powerful wing of the somewhat fragmented and confused Pakistani national security system.”

I’ve always said that the Pakstani’s were double dealing us. This proves that.

Palin: Time to “reload for America”

God Bless this Woman for having the courage to stand for Christian Morals. I admit it, the idea of her being President, after abruptly leaving office in Alaska was not a good idea. However, I do admire the woman for having the courage to stand against the liberals and take the punishment from the left — and also from people on the right, like me, who thought she should not be President. I think Palin will be a player for a very long time. As I wrote before, I also think she should run for Senate. Then, maybe President in 2016. She has a good message, she just needs to build a resume.

The Story:

During a speech focusing on faith and family, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin called for the “restoration of America” during the Extraordinary Women Conference at Liberty University in Lynchburg Saturday.

Palin’s 90-minute speech veered from stories about moose hunting to Tea Party politics to the challenge of raising a son with Down syndrome. Her message centered on the importance of having faith in God and steering America “back on the right track.”

“Now isn’t the time to retreat, now is the time to reload with truth so we can fight for this country and reload for America,” she said to more than 10,000 Christian women who traveled from across the country to hear her speak.

The theme for the evangelical Christian women’s conference was “extraordinary hope,” and Palin quipped:

“I’m talking about real hope, not that hopey changey stuff that some politicians try to get you go believe in.”

The visit was Palin’s first to Liberty, and hotels across the region sold out for the event.

via Palin says it’s time to “reload for America” | The News & Advance.

Of course, you know that the liberal media; who lives under the whole “Eeek! Guns!” mentality will blast her for using gun phrasing. But real Americans, like me, know what she is talking about — which is why I run this blog and have ran it for 5 years with little or not pay at all. (in the beginning, there was NO pay, at all.)  Because I love this Country, Because I very highly disagree with what the President is doing with this Country, because I want this Country to be what it was, when I was kid. That is why I — we are here, and a wake up call to the liberal left — we are not going away either. You may try and stop us; but we true Americans — are not going anywhere.

Update: Two things I find link worthy.

First this, from the crawdad hole:

I guess the people like Andy Sullivan and his ilk are gonna be unhappy, because Sarah apparently has no intention of going away. I have to wonder what would have happened if they had just left her alone when she first went back to Alaska after the 2008 elections.

I happen to agree with that. Sully is was way too harsh on her and still is; I can understand wanting to get to the truth; but he has a very unnatural obsession with destroying her. It was terrible. I think it has more to do with her Christianity, than anything else.

Secondly, a rare occurrence here on political byline. I am going to disagree with a fellow Conservative blogger.

William A. Jacobson writes:

I think there’s a lot of truth there.  Palin frequently is depicted as someone who sought out the spotlight and was a publicity hound, but the reality is that circumstances found her, not the other way around.

What if Palin had been allowed to function as Governor without the relentless attacks from the likes of Andrew Sullivan, various anti-Palin bloggers, the media, establishment Republicans, and frequent-filers of frivolous ethics complaints?

Attacking Palin became an industry, and when she fought back she was blamed.  The derangement started the day she was designated by John McCain as the VP nominee, and it continues to this day from small people like David Frum.

Palin  didn’t bring it on herself, but having found herself in the cross-hairs, she fought back.  Good on her.

This is where I must disagree. Well, partially. The part I underlined and turned red is the part that I disagree with. Let me explain myself, least a blog war break out; and believe me, I really do not want that! 😯 Anyhow, there were times, when Sarah Palin, to use a phrase, shot herself in the foot. Mainly it had to do with messaging. Now, whether that was Sarah Palin’s fault or not; is another story. I believe a good amount of that was due to her poor handling in the beginning, by the McCain campaign and by the people who were originally advising her after the 2008 campaign.

The good thing is, that now, Palin has some very good people, giving her some very good advice — and it shows, greatly.

A new look…

What do you think of the new look?

I like it myself.

Your Thoughts?

Update: Um, I forgot to add, if you view this blog on a phone, iPod, iPad, or iPhone. It will look different than from a PC or Mac. That’s because I run a separate them for mobile users. The stuff we bloggers have to remember…. 😀

Possible New Church

I may be paying a visit to a Church in the area.

While I was at the hospital with my Dad, a man came over to me in the waiting room and handed me a gospel tract.

I very politely informed him, that I have a born again Christian since 1982. I also told him that I was looking for a new Church home. He invited me to check out his Church.

Turns out the Church is in the area here; it is one that I passed while driving in the area and one that I wondered about in the past. Well, the Church has a website and I looked at the statement of Faith and it pretty much is in line with what I believe as a Christian.

Pray for me, as I do this.

When is a Jew, not really a Jew?

Before anyone flips their cork —- That is a rhetorical question.

Remember the Antisemitism that I wrote about at the #OccupyWallStreet protests?

Well, it seems now; that a very well known Conservative Jewish Blogger is being called a “Fake Jew”; by one of her own people, who happens to be a liberal Democrat.

This is about as bad, as the video I posted earlier, of Herman Cain being berated by a liberal white man.

Let me give you a reality check; it is the same mentality. You wander off the plantation; whether it is the black liberal plantation or the Jewish liberal camp plantation —- you do this, and they attack you, with both barrels.

It is the same mentality of Adolf Hitler. One of, “you either submit to our mindset, or we destroy you.” Only difference is, liberals cannot round up Blacks and Jews and put them in camps.

UPDATED: Video: Lawrence O’Donnell’s racist and condescending interview of Herman Cain

I do not know where to begin with this video.

First, Lawrence O’Donnell tries to accuse Herman Cain of draft dodging. Then, he accuses him of various idiot things. Not to mention the “Citizen Cain” in the Chyron at the bottom of the screen.  Not to mention the whole condescending tone of the entire video.

There is only one thing that comes to my mind, when watching these videos — Racism. 😡

I mean, could you just imagine, if a Fox News Channel anchor had handled an interview like this, with a black man? There would be protests outside of the News Corp. Building, Fox News Channels studios in New York, and Al Sharpton would be calling for Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdoch’s head!

Here are the videos, all three parts. You watch these video and you tell me, if they are not racist or not.

Via Mediaite:

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Again, watch the videos and think about if Fox News or any other Conservative outlet sounded this condescending or used “Citizen Cain” as a Chyron. What could the reaction be? I think we all know the answer.

Nothing pisses me off worse, than to watch a privileged white man, who happens to be a liberal; berate a black man, all because he happens to disagree with his politics. That is an outrage and if the Conservative media, including Fox News Channel, ever pulled a stunt like that, there would be riots in the streets. But because Mr. Herman Cain is a Conservative black man — it is perfectly fine. Hell, even this self-hating black man thinks its fine. What an asshole, what a traitor to the back race — sort of like this Murdering, race-hustling, jack ass, who is now dead.

This is another fine reason why I stopped voting for the Democrats, because it is like LBJ said himself:

I’ll have them niggers voting for democrats for 300 years!

…and you know what? The Democrats are keeping ’em voting Democratic Party; with hand outs and yes, with Brainwashing.

Update: Even the liberals at DailyKos are not happy with the interview: (H/T Flopping Aces)

1) When you think of Herman Cain, do you ever find yourself thinking, “gee, he was a black teen in the early-1960s. Why didn’t he participate in civil rights movement?” I’m not an African-American and wasn’t alive in the ’60s, but so what if he didn’t? I am not sure what the implication is there, but was it incumbent upon ever African-American to march? And does not participating in the civil rights movement imply … what? I suppose it might be a fairer question to ask a white person who was around in that era, but only slightly.

I’m going to go out on a limb and presume that Herman Cain was opposed to segregation.

2) Out of nowhere, O’Donnell asked Cain, who worked (but did not serve) in the Navy, whether he was qualified to be Commander-in-Chief after not serving in Vietnam. Really?! Is this still a thing? I have a hard time believing that O’Donnell genuinely cares about Cain’s lack of military service (Clinton and Obama never served), but was possibly trying to posit him as a hypocrite. But that’s kind of hard to do when, while not exactly serving, he was working in ballistics for the Navy.

Seemed like a completely disingenuous line of questioning on O’Donnell’s part, and made me cringe.

Quote of the Day

Here’s hoping that Sarah has the chutzpah to drag a few of them out on the water for uncomfortable “photo-ops” involving fishing boats and large amounts of live salmon (I’m looking at you, Governor Romney).

As for the rest of us, we are more than happy to throw our weight around. We’re not in the mood to kiss and make up with the party bosses, and no one can afford to take us for granted. If you thought we were going to make your life hell as a campaign, wait until you see what we can do as a pressure group. We’ve already got a huge presence on the Web thanks to Conservatives4Palin and the rest of the Palin bloggers, and we now have a big grassroots network as well thanks to the hard work of Organize4Palin. Do you really think we’re not going to use all of that cool stuff?

It’s also important to remember that Sarah Palin has at least a quarter century left in her political life. She’ll be the same age in 2036 that John McCain was in 2008 — so nobody is going to be dropping the idea of “President Palin” for quite some time. In the meantime, she has more than enough skill and support to engage in any number of ventures. We may well be referring to her as “Secretary Palin” in the near future — whether she’s tackling government’s biggest bureaucracy as President Cain’s Secretary of Health and Human Services, charging toward energy independence as President Romney’s energy secretary, or finally bringing some sense to environmental policy as President Perry’s EPA director.

Of course, while any one of those jobs would fit her skill set, none of them are necessarily worthy of a public figure of her stature, and none of them provide the freedom to go after a Republican president when needed. So, we might instead see the launch of “The Sarah Palin Show” on national talk radio, a campaign against Senator Mark Begich in 2014, or the opening of the “Palin Institute for Public Policy.” The possibilities really are endless, and there will be many, many of us backing her up along the way.

I’ve never been so proud to be a Palinista, and I am very much looking forward to the future. Governor, whatever you do next, count me in. SOURCE

No, I’m not going to CPAC 2012

But, I guess Smitty is.

They have a very nice promo video though:

One little thing that really irritated about the posted I linked above, is this:

This event could also be called #OccupyMarriottWardmanPark, except that, to paraphrase Ann Coulter, conservatives tend to have jobs, showers, and a point.

Humph, yeah right. That’s a B.S. lie. I have not had a flipping real day job, since 2005. So, what’s my excuse Coulter? You blonde-headed RINO Bitch. 😡

Before anyone start hitting the tip jar. I don’t have a car; I am deathly scared of air planes, and I have never flown one, not do I have a desire to do so. Plus, knowing how my luck runs; some asshole Republican or other kind of idiot would try to start trouble, I’d kick their ass or worse, and then end up in jail. So, no, I am not going. I’m not to fond of these events. Too many weird people.

I’m a pariah and I want to keep it that way; I am not a go with the crowd person anyhow. Especially with back stabbing assholes who are turn coats rednecks who fold like paper, when put under pressure.

The Late Night Music Express presents: Hank Williams Jr.

Hank Williams Jr. and his iconic theme song will not return to ESPN’s “Monday Night Football,” the network announced Thursday.

In the wake of Williams using an analogy involving Adolf Hitler and President Barack Obama to make a political point on the Fox News Channel, Williams’ “All My Rowdy Friends” will no longer be part of the MNF opening.

“We have decided to part ways with Hank Williams, Jr,” ESPN said in a statement. “We appreciate his contributions over the past years. The success of Monday Night Football has always been about the games and that will continue.”

On his own website, Williams said he was the one who made the decision.

“After reading hundreds of e-mails, I have made MY decision,” he wrote. “By pulling my opening Oct 3rd, You (ESPN) stepped on the Toes of The First Amendment Freedom of Speech, so therefore Me, My Song, and All My Rowdy Friends are OUT OF HERE. It’s been a great run.”

In an interview Monday on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends,” Williams, unprompted, said of Obama’s outing on the links with House Speaker John Boehner: “It’d be like Hitler playing golf with (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu.”

Asked to clarify, Williams said, “They’re the enemy,” adding that by “they” he meant Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.

ESPN pulled Williams’ opening to Monday night’s Indianapolis-Tampa Bay game and issued a statement saying: “While Hank Williams, Jr. is not an ESPN employee, we recognize that he is closely linked to our company through the open to Monday Night Football. We are extremely disappointed with his comments, and as a result we have decided to pull the open from tonight’s telecast.”

Williams, through his publicist, said on Monday: “Some of us have strong opinions and are often misunderstood. My analogy was extreme — but it was to make a point. I was simply trying to explain how stupid it seemed to me — how ludicrous that pairing was. They’re polar opposites and it made no sense. They don’t see eye-to-eye and never will. I have always respected the office of the president.”

Tuesday, he issued another statement.”The thought of the leaders of both parties jukin and high fiven on a golf course, while so many families are struggling to get by simply made me boil over and make a dumb statement,” Williams wrote on Facebook and his website. “I am very sorry if it offended anyone.”

Williams’ song has been part of “Monday Night Football” since 1991 on both ESPN and ABC. He is a Grammy award winner who also was a three-time entertainer of the year from the Academy of Country Music in the 1980s. — Source ESPN

Uh-Oh: Iranian Warship Route to U.S. Coast Leaked Online

This isn’t good, at all. 😯

Via The Blaze:

Last week, an Iranian Naval Commander threatened to deploy ships off the U.S. coast as a provocative show of force.

Now it looks like Iran might actually be serious.

A new map that allegedly shows the expected path of the Iranian Naval expedition to the U.S has leaked online from an Iranian website, according to MEMRI.

The unprecedented route for the Islamic Republic would take Iranian ships through the Suez Canal and into the warm waters of the Caribbean, a total nautical distance of approximately 9000 miles. According to MEMRI, Iranian media sources claim:

“In this new and feasible mission, the ships of the navy of the Iranian Army will sail west, towards the Strait of Gibraltar, after they enter the Mediterranean. Subsequently, they will enter the Atlantic Ocean, and from there they must traverse the long distance to their destination off Cuba, in the Gulf of Mexico, and Central and South America.”

[…]

MEMRI pulled a second map from the Iranian website that had no accompanying description, but showed a number of western countries in different colors, including the U.S., Cuba, Venezuela, Panama, Ecuador and Brazil. See Below:

The Iranian regime has already established close ties to Venezuela and Cuba, but the inclusion of the other Central and South American countries remains unclear, according to MEMRI.

In addition, an unconfirmed report in an Italian newspaper in September claimed Hezbollah– a terrorist proxy of Iran– has opened up a base in Cuba. This allegation was repeated by Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann just last week.

Whether Iran launches this aggressive naval action or not, the Ayatollahs are clearly looking for ways to agitate the United States and complicate international efforts to contain the number one global sponsor of terrorism.

You can read the full report and detailed analysis on the Iranian maps here.

Ron Paul was, of course, unavailable for comment.

I wonder if now, Obama will take Iran a bit more seriously than before?
