Getting my butt tanned, in strange places

No, this is not a posting about adult spanking. (!)

But, Smitty just tanned my butt, three times… (Woo Hoo! 😯 ):

Political Byline seems to imply that the vlog somehow lowered the standard for decency in contribution solicitation.

Heh! Well, it might have something to do with the fact, that the Video reeked of “Please! Send us money!” But, then again, that was the point. 😉

and:

Political Byline was relieved that Stacy will make the trip

Yes, I am. I mean, he did whine about it for a month! 😉

and then there’s this little gem:

Political Byline, having already chided us for our vlog shamelessness, mooched the WordPress theme that we’d freely mooched off the tubey-webs. Now, were hacking the CSS directly, so, for maximum debasement, let us know if we should publish the stylesheet too. ;) (Because we’re chummy like that).

Heh! Actually, there is a reason why I switched; which I explain here. Yes, I did like the theme and I did grab it. I do need to change the header graphic though. Anyone got any ideas?

and one of the funnier lines of the day:

New year. New URL. The FMJRA tradition rolls on. Things have been hectic, dealing with Stacy’s outburst of left-leaning posts, the stress of restraining his desires to re-code the entire site from scratch. Yes, Stacy, we can post executable scripts to the Silver Logic service provider. No, that’s not a good idea. Sheesh. Give a kid a toy…

I now see why Smitty does the backend work and not Stacy…. heh! 😀

Why do Christians do stupid stuff like this?

Ugh:

Harold Camping lets out a hearty chuckle when he considers the people who believe the world will end in 2012.

“That date has not one stitch of biblical authority,” Camping says from the Oakland office where he runs Family Radio, an evangelical station that reaches listeners around the world. “It’s like a fairy tale.”

The real date for the end of times, he says, is in 2011.

The Mayans and the recent Hollywood movie “2012” have put the apocalypse in the popular mind this year, but Camping has been at this business for a long time. And while Armageddon is pop science or big-screen entertainment to many, Camping has followers from the Bay Area to China.

Camping, 88, has scrutinized the Bible for almost 70 years and says he has developed a mathematical system to interpret prophecies hidden within the Good Book. One night a few years ago, Camping, a civil engineer by trade, crunched the numbers and was stunned at what he’d found: The world will end May 21, 2011.

via Biblical scholar’s date for rapture: May 21, 2011.

Oh, Good grief, do I have to quote the Bible on here, all of the time?!??! 🙄 :

And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other . Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass , till all these things be fulfilled . Heaven and earth shall pass away , but my words shall not pass away . But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be . For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking , marrying and giving in marriage , until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came , and took them all away ; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be . Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken , and the other left . Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken , and the other left. —- Matthew 24:31-41 (KJV)

and….

And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass , know that it is nigh, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass , till all these things be done . Heaven and earth shall pass away : but my words shall not pass away . But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed , watch and pray : for ye know not when the time is . For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch . Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh , at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping . And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. —- Mark 13:27-37 (KJV)

There is no dispute that we are in the end times; but to say that we can even know the season of his rapture and the end times is false. In fact, Christ said this:

And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. – Acts 1:7 (KJV)

So, as always, this guy and many like him; are full of bunk. 🙄

Updated: Did Obama knowingly allow Al-Qaeda Terrorists to attack the United States? New Info

The short answer is, well, No.

Was Obama briefed on a possibly attack? Yes.

From Newsweek:

President Barack Obama received a high-level briefing only three days before Christmas about possible holiday-period terrorist threats against the US, Newsweek has learned. The briefing was centered on a written report, produced by US intelligence agencies, entitled “Key Homeland Threats”, a senior US official said.

The senior Administration official, who asked for anonymity when discussing sensitive information, said that nowhere in this document was there any mention of Yemen, whose Al-Qaeda affiliate is now believed to have been behind the unsuccessful Christmas Day attempt by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab to bring down a transatlantic airliner with a bomb hidden in his underpants. However, the official declined to disclose any other information about the substance of the briefing, including what kind of specific warnings, if any, the President was given about possibly holiday attacks and whether Yemen came up during oral discussions.

According to the senior official, the holiday threat briefing, one in a series of regularly-scheduled sessions with top counter-terrorism officials, was held in the White House Situation Room on December 22. Present were representatives of agencies involved in counter-terrorism policy and operations, including Attorney General Eric Holder, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and FBI Director Robert Mueller. The CIA and National Intelligence Directors Office were represented by deputy agency heads: CIA deputy director Steven Kappes, and David Gompert, the principal deputy to National Intelligence Czar Dennis Blair. Also present was Michael Leiter, director of the National Counter-terrorism Center, a unit of the Intelligence Czar’s office which was created after 9/11 to ensure that intelligence reporting about possible terrorist plots was shared quickly among all US agencies who might have some capability to do something about it.

The senior official said that beginning in early December, based on reports coming in from intelligence agencies, policy-makers had begun tracking a stream of information which alluded to a possible holiday-period plot against the US orchestrated from somewhere in Pakistan. However, the official said, this reporting later turned out to be “garbled” and it was determined that the threat probably was a washout. The official denied that the White House received any report, representing the concensus of US intelligence agencies, warning that a Holiday-period plot originating in Yemen and targeting the US homeland could be in the works.

In a background briefing for reporters on December 29, also attributed in an official White House transcript to a “senior administration official”, that official asserted that in the wake of the attempted underpants attack, it had become clear to the President and top advisers that before Christmas, the US government was in posession of “bits and pieces” of information, which, if they had been properly knitted together, “could have…allowed us to disrupt the attack or certainly to know much more about the alleged attacker in such a way as to ensure that he was on, as the President suggested in his statement, a no-fly list.” In the briefing, the official identified three rough categories of information that the government had which could have been relevant to foiling the attack: information about Abdulmutallab and his plans, info about Al-Qaeda and their plans, and info “about potential attacks during the holiday period.”

Asked about what kind of intelligence reporting was circulated to senior officials about possibly holiday period attacks before the failed underpants attack, a US intelligence official, who also asked for anonymity, explained: “As everybody knows, terrorists often speak in coded language, especially when they think their communications might be intercepted.  There was no clear discussion of an attack, on Christmas or any other time, in the Middle East or anywhere else.  But as veiled as the message was, it was spotted, processed, analyzed, and presented to senior policymakers as a warning sign-however vague-of a holiday attack.  While this was handled properly, there were, to put it mildly, virtually no details at all.  That happens.”    When Newsweek asked a senior Administration official about this characterization of a warning which was passed to White House policymakers,  and whether it tracked what was presented at the December 22 Presidential briefing, the official would not comment.

I quoted a good lot of that; because I think that it is important to note, that United States Government, in particular, the President; cannot look into a crystal ball and tell the American people where we are going to be hit next. Also too; there seems to be a bit of rumbling amongst the Conservative Bloggers about how Obama handled the attacks. Yes, I know, it looked horrible. In fact, it kind of pissed me off as well. But, Bush did the same stuff, prior to 9/11.

Remember this? From Salon.com:

We’ve known for years now that George W. Bush received a presidential daily briefing on Aug. 6, 2001, in which he was warned: “Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S.” We’ve known for almost as long that Bush went fishing afterward.

What we didn’t know is what happened in between the briefing and the fishing, and now Suskind is here to tell us. Bush listened to the briefing, Suskind says, then told the CIA briefer: “All right. You’ve covered your ass, now.”

The point that I am trying to make here guys, is that while it might be fun to try and tag this President and blame him directly for the attempted terrorist attack; I am afraid that I just cannot play along here. President Obama just cannot sit and predict when something like this is going to happen. Blaming Obama for this sort of a thing is just plain stupid. Was the ball dropped? Yes. Did someone screw up? Yes. Can Obama be blamed for any of that. Sorry, I’m afraid that is just plain wrong. President Obama cannot predict when one of the Governmental agencies is going to make a mistake, much less when a terrorist attack is going to happen.

Now, if you are one of those people that believes that Obama is somehow trying to undermine the Nation’s intelligence; because he is some sort of pseudo-Muslim. Then, you are just a plain idiot that believes every damned e-mail that you read, then you have issues that is beyond the scope of this blog, much less this blog entry.

So, in short, while this might not look good. I am afraid this finger pointing by the right — is just plain silly.

Others in the Conservative, “Obama is a terrorist” Meme Machine: Gateway Pundit, Erick’s blog, The Strata-Sphere, Outside The Beltway, YID With LID, Riehl World View, Laura Rozen’s Blog and THE ASTUTE BLOGGERS

Update: Since I originally wrote this earlier today; there has been some new information come to light. I have funny feeling, that after the Holiday and the weekend are past. You are going to see some resignations of some posts within Obama’s cabinet. I could be wrong though. We will have to wait and see. But, from the looks of this; someone’s head is going to roll, when Obama gets back from his Holiday vacation.

Top Stuff of 2009

Here is the top “Stuff” of 2009 on this Blog.

The top posting on Political Byline for 2009 is a posting, that I did sort of on a lark. It was one, that I like to refer to as an “In between posting.” I had just pushed out some rather impressive posts, that were about the politics of that day; and I was waiting for some more information to come out about another story, and I had noticed some postings had come up about Republicans lying about healthcare. So, I went, “Hmmm, didn’t Obama do some pretty big lying during the 2008 election?” and So, I asked anyone on twitter, if there was any videos up about Obama lying. The response was overwhelming to say the least! So, I hopped over to YouTube and just typed in “Obama Lies” and woo boy! ——  Talk about results! So, anyhow, I picked out three of the best videos of the lot, just typed up article that had a bit of a conspiratorial tone to it and put it up. I never expected in a million years that this posting would even be read by one person, much less 4,350 people!

So, yes, my top posting on 2009 is:

Lies, Damned Lies and more Lies

Runners up are: A posting that I ended up pulling, Answering Laurence Vance, Updated: Why I left the libertarian ranks: Exhibit A – Hatred of the United States Military, The ‘Hey, that’s a pretty new gun!’ posting of the month, Helen Thomas goes nuclear over the Obama Administration’s controlled Townhall meetings and controlled press, Obama Bows to his Arab Masters.

Top Referrers:

These are the URL’s who have sent me the most traffic for the last year. The winner is, hands down, StumbleUpon. StumbleUpon was, in 2009, what DIGG and REDDIT where in 2007. It sends me a TON of traffic.

Anyhow, here’s the up URLS that sent me traffic:

In 2009, this Blog had a total of 225,280 visitors, not including me. The average user, per day, was 617 visitors per day. Which does not take in account some of the huge traffic spikes around here.

Now, those stats were according to WordPress.com Stats, which by the way, is an excellent WordPress plug in.

According to GoStats.com, which is an excellent counter for blogs and such. here are my yearly stats:

Page Views: 255,774

IP Hosts: 147,601

Unique Visitors: 178,892

Unique Sessions: 197,491

Now according to GoStats.com, which I find to be a bit more accurate that WordPress.com Stats, for some reason:

My Week averages were:

Page Views: 886

IP Hosts: 534

Unique Visitors: 598

Unique Sessions: 653

So, there you have it. Those numbers are not to shabby for someone who really has not done any advertising at all. Oh, I’ve done a little on Blogads, and project wonderful, but nothing to the extent of others. Another thing too, this is a single author blog and many of those have low numbers. So, all in all, it was a good year. I did well, made some money, and some enemies. But, it was all worth it to me. Standing up for what is right, is what I do here and if I happen to make some people angry in the process, I count it par for the course.

Of course, I have you all to thank for it. All of you who donated, all of you, who clicked on the ads, all of you, who just came and read. All of you who linked in, you know who you are; I thank each and every one of you. I thank you for coming, for linking and for honestly caring enough to keep coming around. I am humbled by the numbers, this is not about me. This about you, about America, standing for what we believe in, standing for the America that I remember as a boy, growing up.

Now it is time to move on to 2010. We have some great battles ahead; the 2010 elections are coming. This is not time to slack, we must be strong, we have to be ready, we must be vigilant; we are at war, against terrorists; who wish to destroy this nation; against Socialists who wish to destroy our world, as we know it today. The battle lines have been drawn. We must, as the saying goes, Fight on!

To a Prosperous,  Healthy, and Yes, Victorious 2010!

Rush Limbaugh is A-Okay

Here’s the Video of his Presser:

Here’s a note from his Website:

To my listeners,

Thank you for your prayers and good thoughts over the past several days. Today, I am leaving Queens Hospital in Honolulu, feeling strong and rested. I offer my deepest thanks to the staff and administration there, who provided excellent care and supervision.

I’m going to take several days of rest over this weekend and the early part of next week, and will be back on the radio with you sometime next week, taking the advice of so many of you to rest and fully recover.

I wish each and every one of you a Happy New Year in 2010!

With great thanks for your support and love,

Rush Limbaugh

Here’s Memeornadum’s Round up on Rush’s Story.

I am just glad the ol’ fella is going to be okay.

I do not know what David Broder is smoking, but I want a bag of it and some Zig Zags

Now this is something interesting to wake and read on New Years Day:

I watched as she made the rounds of the morning interview programs on Sunday, laying out what she knew about the would-be terrorist and carefully refusing to speculate about the many matters that were still being investigated. She is being criticized for saying “the system worked,” but her part of the response system did work.

It must have been a frantic time for her. She was in San Francisco, far from her Washington office, and she must have had a sleepless night. But her eyes were bright, and her voice was calm. Everything appeared to be completely normal, except that her usual sense of humor was absent, as it should have been, given the circumstances.

[…]

The Obama Cabinet is filled with talents, but many of the stars are of an age or temperament unlikely to turn them into successor candidates. Napolitano will face many substantive tests — not just in dealing with terrorism but in playing an important role in immigration reform — before she is a candidate for anything. But her potential is almost unlimited.

The dude is on harsh drugs; that has to be the explanation. I mean, when the National Review is calling David Broder crazy; then it must mean that your a couple hamburger patties short of a happy meal. Wow….Just Wow… The System worked, Oh, Wait, No it didn’t. Brilliant. 🙄

Switched back to old theme…

I just realized that I or nobody else could click on the top ad banner. Yikes!

So, it’s gone.

I’ll find something else soon. I hope.

Update: I was kinda in a hurry to find a decent theme and I went and look at Mr. McCain’s and I liked it. So, I’m using it. I will be putting in a different header photo shortly — Works in a pinch. I also decided, that the top adsense banner is gone. screw it. I’ll just have a small banner and pray everyone clicks on it. I like bright themes anyhow, that dark stuff is just waaay too gloomy for me.

Ugh…. Work… on a Holiday no less… More Coffee. 🙄

FRIDAY CHURCH NEWS NOTES
January 1, 2010, Volume 11, Issue 1

The Friday Church News Notes is designed for use in churches and is published by Way of Life Literature’s Fundamental Baptist Information Service. Unless otherwise stated, the Notes are written by David Cloud. Of necessity we quote from a wide variety of sources, but this does not imply an endorsement. RICK WARREN CONFERENCE TO FEATURE MARK DRISCOLL, THE ULTRA-COOL PASTOR (Friday Church News Notes, January 1, 2010, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – Mark Driscoll is scheduled to speak at Rick Warren’s Radicalis conference in February. The goal is “how to develop emotionally healthy leadership.” The conference also features Pete Scazzero, founder of Emotionally Healthy Spirituality, a ministry that promotes emotional health through Catholic contemplative mysticism. Driscoll is the ultra-cool senior pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle, Washington. He claims to be “THEOLOGICALLY CONSERVATIVE AND CULTURALLY LIBERAL” (“Pastor Provocateur,” Christianity Today, Sept. 21, 2007) and criticizes “hardcore fundamentalism that throws rocks at culture.” He defines himself as “relevant,” “contextual,” and “cool” (“Conference examines the emerging church,” Baptist Pres s, Sept. 25, 2007). Mark Driscoll’s church sets up a “champagne bar” at its New Year’s Eve parties. Members have to bring their IDs. They have “beer-brewing lessons” for men, show R-rated movies, and operate the Paradox Theater to host secular rock concerts. Scott Thomas, director of Acts 29, a church planting network associated with Driscoll, says, “We won’t water down our theology to reach more people and we won’t attack the culture in the name of Christianity” (http://www.acts29network.org/about/welcome/). These are contradictory statements. You can’t be faithful to the Bible (having rock-solid theology) if you “contextualize the gospel” and refuse to attack the sinful and satanic side of culture, which is a very large side of it in a world in which the devil is god! God’s Word commands, “And have NO fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, BUT RATHER REPROVE THEM” (Eph. 5:11). John the Baptist lost his head for rebuking a political leader for his immorality. Too bad he did not have one of Driscoll’s books to help him learn how to be culturally liberal. The emerging John would have been so much cooler.

HOLLYWOOD CULTURE CREATES “INSANE SELF-IMAGE ISSUES” (Friday Church News Notes, January 1, 2010, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – The following is by Brian Snider <bsnider@gmail.com> — “Investing a lot of money, time and worry on this body is a hopeless dead end.  Sadly, that’s what Hollywood culture demands from those who worship at its altar. Actress Brittany Murphy, who mysteriously died of ‘natural causes’ two weeks ago, apparently spent an inordinate amount of time worrying about a body that would only carry her to 32 years of age. ‘She had insane self-image issues,’ said one of her friends. ‘Her weight, her hair, her clothes, her skin, her teeth, everything. She was always so self-conscious.’ Adds another: ‘A lot of her problems were due to poor self image. She wore extraordinary amounts of makeup, tons of fake eyelashes, got her teeth capped, dyed her hair blonde, lost weight–she wanted to be a beauty. She didn’t want to be the fat girl from Clueless.’ The things she spent so much time worrying about–body, eyes, teeth and hair are now lying in a grave, though her spirit has passed on into eternity. And with all the worrying she did about things that will pass away, we wonder how much time she spent worrying about the state of her soul. This young actress was sold a false bill of goods by the Satanic machinery of the movie industry, which convinces people that looks, prestige and glamour are great things to be sought. There is a permanence to death that is stunning in its seriousness and scope. Better to have the perspective of Scripture now than the perspective of Hollywood, which can only lead to eternal misery. ‘Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes , and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever’ (1 John 2:15-17). ‘It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.  Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.  The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth’ (Ecclesiastes 7:2-4).”
