Dear Friends,

Today, Tuesday, November 24, 2009, it is with a heavy heart that we declare this election over.  We will formally end this election and not ask for a recount.  This was a difficult choice to make because so many people have put their faith, hope and aspirations into our campaign.

Yes, there seem to have been many vote counting problems, missed vote counts and, as was recently reported by the Gouvernour Times, software problems in the computerized voting machines. Despite these incidents, I do not believe the voters of NY-23, or New Yorkers in general, would be well-served by a disruptive and costly recount that would most likely not change the election outcome.

I know many are disappointed and even angry. To those I say now is not the time to look back, but to focus on the future and ensure that next year we win back this district decidedly. Know this decision was not an easy one. I did not want to let down those who worked so hard, donated so much and shared their enthusiasm for retaking our country with common-sense conservative values.

And rest assured, our energies are now directed toward 2010. This election, in which a third party candidate narrowly lost, showed that principles do matter.  Special interests do have an Achilles’ heel, the American people. Main-street conservatism’s voice is now echoing through the government chambers and boardrooms that shape America. By most measures, this campaign was a success and I have you all to thank for this. And all of us have to thank the Conservative Party of New York State for nominating a candidacy like ours.

We take away lessons from this year’s campaign that will make us stronger and more competitive in the future. Next time we will be better prepared. Many people forget that our campaign only began in earnest three months ago. Most campaigns of this stature take at least a year to prepare. In three months, we almost toppled an entrenched political system and successfully defied the conventional thinking of the elite political punditry. Citizen government is making a comeback in America.

I thank everyone who participated in this campaign and urge each one of you to stand with me in the future. We have a calling that we must answer. My opponent in this race quickly abandoned the promises he made to his voters. Within the first hour of being sworn in by Nancy Pelosi, Bill Owens broke 4 campaign promises — so much for change in Washington. We must resoundingly defeat him next year and, with your help, I promise to help restore our nation’s faith in elected officials when we win.

But there is more to do than just win back NY-23 in 2010. We must work to help other like-minded citizen candidates win across the country.  We need to make time to help other candidates who are working for the principles we hold dear — other fiscal, common-sense conservatives.  Together we can successfully take back our great nation, one legislator and one member at a time. We need more than one common-sense conservative voice in the echo chamber of liberal, spend thrift cacophony if we are to redirect our great country.

I would also like to commend those election commission officials who worked tirelessly and may have taken offense to an unfortunate and poorly worded fundraising email that was sent out toward the end of our campaign.  As we tried to make sense of the false vote counts and stories of software viruses in the voting machines, we never intended to imply the election commissioners had somehow acted improperly. This was never our intention and, on the contrary, the election commissioners went above and beyond to uphold their duty to ensure a fair election took place. I owe them a debt of gratitude for all they have done.

So where to now? Full speed ahead to 2010. This gives us time to carefully articulate and communicate thoughtful positions on issues that impact the great people of our district and ensure that our campaign promises are NOT broken.  Best of all, it allows me to work hand-in-hand with the many supporters who shared their ideas, their concerns and their dreams with me.

We need to continue to stand united because we cannot spend our way out of recession or tax our way to prosperity. We must continue to fight to protect our liberties and protect those who are yet to be born.  We must protect our country against terrorists and protect the sanctity of marriage. We must fix our corrupt tax code, our immigration policy and our educational system.  Most of all, we must defend the free enterprise system that made America the greatest and most prosperous country in the world.  Although I’m conceding an election today, I do it with the certainty that we will win back this seat a year from now.  I am certain of this because our mission is too big, the country’s problems too dire and the American people are too smart.

Thank you for all you have done and will continue to do. “We the people” are retaking America.

Again, I think it was worth every damned bit of bandwidth, time and effort; We will win in 2010. This was just a test and we passed, all of us.

Obama send in 34,000 more troops with ‘Offramps’ to Afghanistan

Last night I wrote, in some not-so politically correct words, that the President is not interested in fighting the war in Afghanistan. It appears that this news article confirms what I have believed all along.

Quote:

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama met Monday evening with his national security team to finalize a plan to dispatch some 34,000 additional U.S. troops over the next year to what he’s called “a war of necessity” in Afghanistan, U.S. officials told McClatchy.

Obama is expected to announce his long-awaited decision on Dec. 1, followed by meetings on Capitol Hill aimed at winning congressional support amid opposition by some Democrats who are worried about the strain on the U.S. Treasury and whether Afghanistan has become a quagmire, the officials said.

The U.S. officials all spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to discuss the issue publicly and because, one official said, the White House is incensed by leaks on its Afghanistan policy that didn’t originate in the White House.

They said the commander of the U.S.-led international force in Afghanistan, Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal, could arrive in Washington as early as Sunday to participate in the rollout of the new plan, including testifying before Congress toward the end of next week. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Adm. Mike Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan Karl Eikenberry also are expected to appear before congressional committees.

As it now stands, the plan calls for the deployment over a nine-month period beginning in March of three Army brigades from the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Ky., and the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, N.Y., and a Marine brigade from Camp Lejeune, N.C., for as many as 23,000 additional combat and support troops.

In addition, a 7,000-strong division headquarters would be sent to take command of U.S.-led NATO forces in southern Afghanistan — to which the U.S. has long been committed — and 4,000 U.S. military trainers would be dispatched to help accelerate an expansion of the Afghan army and police.

This all sounds nice and pretty; that is until you read down further…:

A U.S. military official used the term “decisional” to describe Monday evening’s meeting among Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Gates, Clinton, National Security Adviser Jim Jones, Eikenberry and senior U.S. military commanders.

The administration’s plan contains “off-ramps,” points starting next June at which Obama could decide to continue the flow of troops, halt the deployments and adopt a more limited strategy or “begin looking very quickly at exiting” the country, depending on political and military progress, one defense official said.

“We have to start showing progress within six months on the political side or military side or that’s it,” the U.S. defense official said.

It’s “not just how we get people there, but what’s the strategy for getting them out,” White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday.

The approach is driven in part by concerns that Afghan President Hamid Karzai won’t keep his promises to root out corruption and support political reforms, and in part by growing domestic opposition to the war, the U.S. officials said.

HotAir.com’s Ed Morrissey is not impressed at all:

The increase in troops is a good decision, but the off-ramps almost completely undermine it.  The point in extending our footprint is to win the trust of the local communities and prove our reliability in providing them security, which is the central thrust of McChrystal’s COIN strategy.  By getting them to trust our commitment, we can get them to help fight the Taliban themselves, as we did with the Anbar Awakening in Iraq against al-Qaeda, and greatly improve the intel we get from the locals.   If we send 34,000 more troops but give ourselves a six-month time frame for success or bug-out, the locals will very  quickly come to the realization that allying with us will be suicide.  The COIN strategy only worked in Iraq because George W. Bush was adamant that we would stay until we won.

A Commander in Chief doesn’t need “off-ramps.”  Any President can call an end to a deployment based on his own judgment.  Putting these conditions into the American strategy signals weakness — a desire to pull out without getting blamed for the decision.   Obama wants to be off the hook for an eventual withdrawal by claiming that he’s forced to do it because of these benchmark failures.  And if Obama’s that keen to retreat, he should just do it now.

Ed Morrissey hit the nail square on the head. President Barack Obama was never, at any point, interested in fighting the so-called good war in Afghanistan. President Barack Obama knew that he was inheriting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan; and he knew that if he continued them, that he would also inherit the backlash from the left that goes with them. Therefore, he is devising a way of getting out that region and making himself look like the saint and President George W. Bush look like the bad person.  This was the plan all along; never at any point was there a plan to fight this war until victory; but rather a plan of stealth defeat.

There are many reasons why the Democrats will not fight the war on terror. Namely, it is because to a certain degree the Democrats actually sympathize with the terrorists. The Democrats have always had a disdain for Israel and its right to exist; many Democrats have always felt that President Harry Truman royally screwed up when he decided to formally recognize Israel as a sovereign Nation. It is due to the frosty relationship towards Israel that sparked the attack of the U.S.S. Liberty by a rogue faction within the Israeli Defense Force. Many people who are of the hatemonger class, like to blame Israel and the Jews for that attack; the problem is, they are blaming the wrong people, they should be blaming the Democrats for it.

Not only this, but you also have about sixty percent of the Democrats who actually blame Bush for the attacks on 9/11. They actually believe that Bush knew the attacks were coming and actually allowed them to happen. This is why Eric Holder and the justice department are having civilian trials for a few of the 9/11 conspirators. They desire to drag out of the stuff that happened in the months after 9/11, as to make a mockery of them.  The remaining people within the Democratic Party and those who are of the far-leftist mentality actually have the audacity to believe that the United States of America actually deserved the attacks on 9/11, because of our capitalistic society and because of our past treatment of blacks; because we do not give enough hand-outs to poor people and so forth . President Barack Obama’s former Pastor even said as this very thing, and now President Barack Obama is allowing them to have civilian trials; ponder that scary thought for a moment.

In closing, I simply will offer this sober note. Elections have consequences. The American people elected a man, who was supposed to be a stark contrast to President George W. Bush, someone who could lead. What the American people received was an out of touch, dithering liberal elitist, who in all honesty could not even lead his own household, if the truth were told. President Barack Obama is more interested in shoving his rather idiotic social agenda, of wealth redistribution and outright class warfare onto the American people, than a fighting a war that will ultimately decide America’s success or demise. We should remember this come the elections of 2010 and of 2012 and decide wisely our choices for those we plan to put in office.

No, Lou Dobbs would NOT make a good President

Sorry folks, while I might respect Lou Dobbs greatly for his views on illegal immigration. I just do not feel he would make a good President.

Former CNN anchor Lou Dobbs has never been elected to any government office, but he said Monday he’s considering a run for the White House in 2012.

During an interview on WTOP radio in Washington, Dobbs fueled rumors he’s seeking a bid for public office, possibly the highest office in the land, when asked if speculation about an Oval Office bid is “crazy talk.”

“What’s so crazy about that?” Dobbs, 64, replied. “Golly!”

So, is it crazy talk or is it real, the radio station persisted.

“Well, I’ll tell you this much — it’s one of the discussions that we’re having,” he said. “For the first time, I’m actually listening to some people about politics.”

“I don’t think I’ve got the nature for it,” he added. “[But] we’ve got to do something in this country and I think that being in the public arena means you’ve got to be part of the solution.”

via Ex-CNN anchor Lou Dobbs is considering running for president in 2012.

The reason I feel this way about Lou Dobbs is this; Lou might have his head on straight about Illegal Immigration. However, he has his head square up his rather large rear end up about economic policy and foreign trade in this country. The man is a flat out Liberal-minded protectionist, when it comes to foreign trade. If it were left to the likes of Lou Dobbs and his ilk, we would totally repeal NAFTA and all the rest of trade agreements that we have with the World and go back to the old days of outright protectionist policies, which would absolutely devastate our economy.

We already have a jobs problem now and our economy is shaky at best. The LAST thing we need is Lou Dobbs or someone of that idiotic mindset to waltz into the White House and rip the one remaining thing that is keeping the American economy afloat and somewhat stable. Going back to the protectionist policies of old would be a textbook case in abject stupidity. Let me remind my readers that it was the stupid economic protectionism and the unwillingness to engage other Countries, that caused the United States to become involved in the second World War; that and President Franklin Roosevelt’s committing of economic warfare against Japan. This triggered an act of desperation by the Japanese.

The main thing to remember about Lou Dobbs is; when he refers to the “Working Middle Class in this Country,” he is referring to the Union Workers. My question to Lou Dobbs is this; what about the NON-UNION working middle class? Do they not deserve protection too, or does that only apply to the Union workers at the big three auto plants?

Not only this, Lou Dobbs has a paranoid idiotic fetish with the so-called “North American Union” that he constantly rants and raves about. The problem is that the so-called evidence of such a thing does not even exist, except in the idiotic minds of those that believe that bunch of malarkey! The very idea that the United States of America would actually abandon its currency and join forces with Canada and Mexico is something of the Alex Jones paranoid stupidity class. Sovereignty is something that Mexico and Canada take quite seriously and I highly doubt that either of those Countries would want to be saddled with our enormous debt.

Thanks, but no thanks Lou; Stick to what you know; which is sitting behind a microphone and bloviating about your opinions on the politics of the day. This would be about as stupid as Bill O’Reilly running for President; he might be a great person and have some very good intentions; however he would be lousy for the job.

President Barack Hussein Obama, The Surrender Monkey

Oh, this is just wonderful. Sounds like we are gearing up for a big time concession to the enemy.

An Afghan source in Kabul reports that U.S. Ambassador in Afghanistan Karl Eikenberry is holding secret talks with Taliban elements headed by the movement’s foreign minister, Ahmad Mutawakil, at a secret location in Kabul. According to the source, the U.S. has offered the Taliban control of the Kandahar, Helmand, Oruzgan, Kunar and Nuristan provinces in return for a halt to the Taliban missile attacks on U.S. bases.

…and they say that this was the “good war” and they wanted us to win it. I call bullshit. The Democrats never gave two shits about this war. In fact; they want us to LOSE this war, Just like they did Iraq, god-damned bastards. Vietnam 2.0 all over again…. 😡

Oh.My.Gawd: Katie Couric gets her sex dance on

….and Photographed while doing it…. 😯

When CBS News anchor Katie Couric isn’t asking Sarah Palin gotcha questions, she’s doin’ Da Butt, or the Lambada, or whatever white ladies do when the Black Eyed Peas are on the sound system. More unbelievable images after the jump.

UPDATE: We’ve learned that these are from the after-party celebrating Couric’s debut as anchor of the CBS Evening News. Oh, lord.

A tipster sent us these photos after finding them in a Facebook photo album called “Four Martini Mimimum” and says they were shot in 2006. We’ve asked CBS News for information about where, when, and why they were taken—we think it’s a toss-up between wedding and bar mitzvah. Or maybe a birthday party? Whatever the event: Katie Couric, you now have a standing invitation to any Gawker Media party.

Wow. Where do I even start? Being that I am the guy that I am. I will simply say this; if Couric is as good in bed, as she is on the dance floor —- I’d say she’s got quite quite the, um, Talent. More pics at the link above. I hate to be the one to say it about Couric. But she is not half bad looking.

Obama’s Magic Act falls flat in Asia

Looks like the “Magic One” is not so magical:

There were only a few hours left before Air Force One was scheduled to depart for the flight home. US President Barack Obama trip through Asia had already seen him travel 24,000 kilometers, sit through a dozen state banquets, climb the Great Wall of China and shake hands with Korean children. It was high time to take stock of the trip.

Barack Obama looked tired on Thursday, as he stood in the Blue House in Seoul, the official residence of the South Korean president. He also seemed irritable and even slightly forlorn. The CNN cameras had already been set up. But then Obama decided not to play along, and not to answer the question he had already been asked several times on his trip: what did he plan to take home with him? Instead, he simply said “thank you, guys,” and disappeared. David Axelrod, senior advisor to the president, fielded the journalists’s; questions in the hallway of the Blue House instead, telling them that the public’s expectations had been “too high.”

The mood in Obama’s foreign policy team is tense following an extended Asia trip that produced no palpable results. The “first Pacific president,” as Obama called himself, came as a friend and returned as a stranger. The Asians smiled but made no concessions.

via US Foreign Policy: Obama’s Nice Guy Act Gets Him Nowhere on the World Stage – SPIEGEL ONLINE – News – International.

Looks like the magic of President Obama is gone; the foreign Governments know a weak leader when they see one. We Conservatives have been saying all along, that President Barack Obama was nothing more than an over marketed empty suite and it now appears that the rest of the World knows it too. It was good while it lasted it. This should serve, as a warning to the United States, be much more careful of whom or what you elected to be your leader. It also should serve as a warning as to why you do elect a man, because upon his ethnicity.

It just strikes me as highly ironic that Obama is now finally getting the critical press from the Liberal overseas and mainland media. We Conservatives were saying all of these things during the election and were derided as racist bigots and backward. Now it seems that the rest of America and abroad have realized it too. It is about time, maybe now we can expect some objectivity in the media; however, I shall not hold my breath, least I turn blue and die.

Uh-oh: Howard Dean: Dems ‘In Deep Trouble’ On Health Care

Here we have one of the textbook examples of why you do not overreach in your campaign promises. It looks like the Democrats are in deep trouble over Healthcare:

One of the leading progressive champions of health care reform is pessimistic about the state of the debate in the Senate, saying he sees virtually no path to passing strong legislation and predicting potential congressional losses for Democrats as a consequence.

Former DNC Chair Howard Dean told the Huffington Post on Monday that Senate Democratic leadership was “in deep trouble” on health care, even after Majority Leader Harry Reid cobbled together over the weekend the 60 votes needed to get legislation to the floor. The problem was as much about politics as policy.

“I think if you passed the Senate bill tomorrow it would be OK. But then the problem is they don’t have any defense for their members in 2010,” Dean said, noting that the public option would not become operational until 2014. “On the other hand, if they drop the public option [to placate moderate members], I think they lose seats.”

“So this is really tough. I didn’t anticipate being in this position. I thought it would pass. Maybe Harry has some magic up his sleeve. But I don’t see how he gets those four votes [Sens. Joseph Lieberman (Conn.), Mary Landrieu (La.), Blanche Lincoln (Ark.) and Ben Nelson (Neb.)] without compromising the bill,” Dean concluded.

via Dean: Dems ‘In Deep Trouble’ On Health Care, The Only Options Are A Bad Bill Or 2010 Losses.

This situation here is what happens when a Political Party gets extremely arrogant and thinks that there will be no opposition to their plans. The Democrats thought that because of the screw-ups of George W. Bush and the Republicans in Congress that the Democrats would be able to run rough shod over everything and everyone and get their agenda fulfilled. They have since discovered that plan is not going to work. That is because not everyone is on board with the far leftist socialism of the White House. What we are seeing here is a repeat of 1994. When the Democrats lost control of congress; and the sitting President got moderate fast.

However, this time, I believe the Democrats have much more to lose. Such as credibility, I say that because the Democrats horrifically oversold this President and themselves in general. The Democrats had many people thinking lots of crazy stuff; and now, it seems that the honeymoon is over and many on the left are realizing that the sell job was nothing more than a well-fabricated lie. I knew this well before anyone else. In fact, I said as much on this blog, back when Obama first started gaining in popularity, that they were totally over marketing the President as a messianic figure to the Democrats and to the far-left; and it was nothing more than over-zealous marketing.

This healthcare debacle could spell the end or at least a marginalizing of that Party for a long time to come. Howard Dean knows the score; he has people on the ground. If he says the Democrats are in trouble, call the ambulance, because there is a serious problem.

Chris Matthews finally decides act like an objective journalist

NewsBusters is treating this like a shocking moment; but I am not buying that at all. Chris Matthews must have finally figured out that President Barack Obama is much like his old boss Jimmy Carter. Because it seems that Matthews is finally climbing out of the tank and is finally going to report the truth about the President. This is no shocker to me, unlike some here on the right, I do not have a short term memory; back before President Obama was elected, Matthews was getting in trouble with the left for stuff that would come out of his mouth, mostly about Hillary Clinton.

The Video:

Transcript:

CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST: Welcome back. The word these days is optics, visuals, signals. In the Carter presidency, the optics were not exactly robust, and Ronald Reagan rode that to a big victory in 1980. Is the Obama White House sending some Carteresque signals these days? Some see that in the deep bow to the Emperor of Japan, an unforced error say critics. Then there was, there was what happened in China: Obama got nothing in the way of concessions over there in spite of playing the polite visitor. And his effort to speak directly to the Chinese was jammed by the government. Third, that decision to try the terrorists up in that federal court in New York City. Again, nothing that had to be done, and critics say it shows that Obama, his team doesn’t understand this is a war we’re in. David, that’s the question. These optics are everything in a president. Carter used to carry that garment bag over his shoulder. This president is he making mistakes like in China like in Japan?

DAVID IGNATIUS, WASHINGTON POST : I think he is coming across as stiff. He is talking too much sometimes and communicating too little. So the opposite of what we saw during the campaign. Although the decision to try Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in New York apparently was Eric Holder’s, it strikes me that it really is a mistake. I mean, there are too many bad things that could happen. There is no reason to have to have done this. And, you know, it’s a political feel for decision-making. That wonderful thing you just did about President Johnson’s feel for the moment. That’s what I think is missing now with this group in the White House. I don’t know where it’s gone. They certainly had it during the campaign. Maybe they’ll get it back. But it’s missing now.

MATTHEWS: It’s the political touch. You were in China. You just got back. Tell me about that. The president tried to speak to the Chinese people and apparently it was jammed. Tell me about that.

ANNE KORNBLUT, WASHINGTON POST: This was the big moment of the whole trip to Asia in fact, eight days in Asia he was going to speak to Chinese students in Shanghai unfiltered at least in his answers, and in fact the Chinese government, you know, they allowed the event to take place, but it was only shown locally on Shanghai television. People didn’t see it. The one piece of news he made in it saying that the internet should be free and people should have access dribbled out to the Chinese public and then started being deleted from all the Chinese websites. So, then, the following day he held a quote unquote press conference with the Chinese President Hu Jintao in which there were no questions and they read statements. Now, this is of course, this is the Chinese, it’s their home turf. They were allowed to do what they wanted to. That was the White House’s argument. And the White House haggled with them to get it more open.

MATTHEWS: The White House got jammed here. Did they know this was coming, that it wouldn’t get to the people?

KORNBLUT: Sure. They knew, previous presidents had been allowed to reach the Chinese public. They knew that it might or might not. It did. But they didn’t have to stand there at a press conference, call it a press conference, and not answer questions. And I think they’re expect, they may have raised expectations a little for how much they were going to be able to do.

Again, I am glad to see that Chris Matthews is actually starting to do his job and being an objective journalist and not some “In the Tank” apologist for the President. While doing so might not endure him to many on the far left; it will in fact possibly earn him some respect from some of us on the right. I have always viewed Chris Matthews as a “Left of Center” Bill O’Reilly and I respected him for not letting the far right or the far left come on his show and spout talking points. Chris always held their feet to the fire and made them look like idiots, if said people were programmed spokespersons. In short, I am glad to see that Chris Matthews is actually playing hardball again and no longer playing the DNC’s game of softball.

LEE STROBEL’S DANGEROUS ASSOCIATIONS (Friday Church News Notes, November 20, 2009, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – Lee Strobel, the influential author of several widely-used apologetics books including The Case for Christ, is an “evangelical” whose associations with rank heretics sounds loud warnings. In January 2010 he is scheduled to speak at the Break Forth conference in Canada with William Paul Young, author of The Shack, and Leonard Sweet, a New Age contemplative. Lighthouse Trails observes, “[Though many have admired Strobel’s work in the past], it is really no surprise that he is attending Break Forth. With his sponsorship of his son’s very contemplative/emerging ministry Metamorpha, multiple appearances at Robert Schuller’s Crystal Cathedral over the years, and his ongoing connections with Saddleback and Willow Creek, discernment is not something that Strobel appears to give much attention to” (“Why Are Joel Rosenberg and Frank Peretti Appearing with New Age/New Spirituality Sympathizers,” Lighthouse Trails, Nov. 9, 2009). Strobel’s fellow speaker Paul Young depicts God as a woman and claims that He/She does not judge sin or send anyone to hell. Leonard Sweet promotes a New Age universalist spirituality that he calls New Light and “the Christ consciousness.” He describes it in terms of “the union of the human with the divine” which is the “center feature of all the world’s religions” (Quantum Spirituality, p. 235). He says it was experienced by Mohammed, Moses, and Krishna. He promotes Matthew Fox, M. Scott Peck, and Ken Wilber, New Agers who believe in the divinity of man. Sweet says humanity needs to learn the truth of the words of the Buddhist-Catholic priest Thomas Merton, “We are already one” (Quantum Spirituality, p. 13). The Bible warns that it is impossible to join hands with such men in ministry without becoming partaker of their evil deeds (2 John 8-11).

RULES! LAWS! (Friday Church News Notes, November 20, 2009, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – When a high school gymnastics team recently lost a title competition because the coach broke the rules, the responses were telling. They ranged, in effect, from “we understand and accept the rule” to “we are special and shouldn’t be bound by such silly rules.” On the weekend of November 7-8, Northwest High School of Shawnee Mission, Kansas, slipped from first place to third after one of the coaches inappropriately questioned a scoring decision, costing the team a one-point penalty. The school’s athletic director, Richard Grinage, admitted that the coach acted contrary to the rules, saying, “It would be similar to a called ball or strike.” The coach in question, though, was unrepentant, saying, “We were the strongest team and had the highest score with 103.9 points, but, because of a ruling that has never been enforced in 30 years; we got a 102.9 and were third place” (“Sometimes It’s Better to Just Keep Your Mouth Shut,” Homeschool.rivals.com, Nov. 11, 2009). Discussing the purpose of the rule, Becky Oakes of the National Federation for State High Associations, said that “to allow a coach to always question an official could really interrupt the flow of events for the athletes and the competition.” That’s reasonable. Games must have rules. Life must have laws. And if laws are broken and there is no penalty, the law is destroyed and anarchy reigns. This is why the holy Creator God punishes infractions of His Law, and it means that we all deserve His just punishment, because we are all sinners. But in His great love He has provided a way of salvation for those who put their trust in the cross-work of His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. The unfathomable love of God cannot be understood without a comprehension of His inflexible holiness. The Gospel cannot be understood apart from the Law.

THE NEW IRON CURTAIN (Friday Church News Notes, November 20, 2009, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – The following is excerpted from “The Iron Curtain” by Paul Proctor, Nov. 10, 2009, Newswithviews.com, watchman@usa.com — “On this 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, with America deteriorating like an old and obsolete relic of our patriotic past, I’m left to wonder if the event let freedom in or tyranny out. You see, as I write, the wall is being rebuilt–not with concrete, mortar or razor wire–but instead, with satellites, cameras, computers, databases and an array of impressive and oppressive technologies that can monitor, record and analyze the movements, expressions, words and even thoughts of an unsuspecting populace now evermore willing to exchange God-given liberties and freedoms for governmental guarantees of health, safety, security and prosperity. These are the new guard towers that cast long shadows from above that to many are far more intimating than they are comforting. … I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the wall is indeed returning–and this time it extends around the world. When the powers that be are finished with it, there will be nowhere to run and hide. It won’t protect us from the evil without, but will only chain us electronically and spiritually to the wickedness within. It doesn’t matter how many guns are purchased or how much ammo one has stored away. Ultimately, this is a spiritual battle with eternal consequences and God Himself is the only One who can deliver us from what lies ahead. The sooner we fall to our knees, confess our sins, repent and cry out for a salvation that comes only by Jesus Christ, the sooner we will have ‘the peace of God which passeth all understanding’ and the wherewithal to carry on into the future, uncertain as it may be. ‘For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved’ (Romans 10:13). That’s real freedom, liberty and security–the kind the Apostle Paul sang about joyously while bound and imprisoned for his faith as told in the 16th chapter of Acts. Without it, there is no hope—not in this life or in the life to come.”

WWR Extra: Senate Moving Forward on Obamacare

On Saturday evening at 8:08 P.M. EST, the United States Senate — by a vote of 60-39 — agreed to proceed with the healthcare bill debate on the Senate floor.

So, as this debate in Congress will now rage on as to whether or not a massive, government-run health care system will be enacted, it is important that pro-family conservatives continue to stay informed.

Please, be sure to visit our Health Care Action Center and keep up with the latest facts and information – and then continue to let your members of Congress know how you feel.

MESSSAGE FROM ROBERTA COMBS, PRESIDENT, CHRISTIAN COALITION OF AMERICA

The lead item in this week’s “Washington Weekly Review” entitled “Senate Vote Saturday Night to Determine if America Will Turn to Socialism” may seem alarmist to some, but I have no doubt that it sums up the great importance of the vote in the United States Senate on Saturday night at 8 p.m. on Obamacare.  If the Senators vote to begin debate on this socialized medicine scheme cooked up during the last few weeks behind closed doors with no transparency whatsoever and with no Republican input whatsoever, then America will begin down the road to socialism as some European countries have chosen to do.

It is imperative that these 6 United States Senators be contacted immediately to urge them to vote NO on the Democrat’s “motion to proceed to debate the Senate’s health care reform bill,” a 2,074 page monstrosity:  Senator Ben Nelson from Nebraska; Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor from Arkansas; Senator Mary Landrieu from Louisiana; Senator Evan Bayh from Indiana and Senator Joe Lieberman from Connecticut.

Finally, Christian Coalition of America will score this extremely important vote in CCA’s 2009-2010 Congressional Scorecard.  A vote FOR “the motion to proceed to debate the Senate Democrat healthcare bill” will be a negative vote in the CCA congressional scorecard.  A vote FOR Senator Orrin Hatch’s pro-life amendment – similar to Democrat Bart Stupak’s amendment which passed 240-194 – will be listed in the CCA congressional scorecard as a positive vote.  It is important that you call your Senators now.  Time is of the essence.

Senate Vote Saturday Night to Determine if America Will Turn to Socialism

On Thursday, Christian Coalition of America (CCA) sent out an Action Alert to its supporters all over America and urged them to contact both of their United States Senators regarding the most important vote of their congressional careers.  The vote on the Democrats’ socialized medicine scheme, commonly called ObamaCare, will come up for a vote on the Senate floor Saturday night at 8 p.m.

Because the Senate’s ObamaCare bill pushed back implementation of the major provisions until 2014, it is important that you, your family and your friends understand the true cost of 10 years of implementation – a whopping $2.5 trillion.

The question is simply this: Will America leave its roots and give up much of the freedom bestowed on Americans by our Founders by turning to socialism?  That is exactly what the United States Senate will be voting on Saturday night at 8 p.m. when the Democrats attempt to begin debate on ObamaCare… (Read More)

Derelict Army Generals Need to Prosecute in Murder of Unborn Child

To add insult to injury, the prosecutors in the United States Army, have thus far refused to charge the Islamic terrorist with a 14th murder charge in the Ft. Hood massacre by ignoring the death of an unborn baby.  This mass murder, by a deranged Muslim terrorist, probably would not have occurred at all, if the leadership of the Army, led by Army Chief of Staff, General George Casey, had gotten rid of this Army Major jihadist in the first place.  The U.S. Army  —  infested with political correctness for the past several decades  —  had plenty of warnings that the terrorist, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, was about to explode.

The left-wing news media has been intent on ignoring the death of a 14th victim, besides the 12 soldiers and Army civilian, assassinated by terrorist Nidal Malik Hasan.  Indeed, the one word on this week’s cover of “Time” magazine was “terrorist” with a question mark behind “terrorist?” and a picture of the Islamic terrorist Nidal Malik Hasan in the background.

The United States Army – which has succumbed to left-wing political correctness for far too long – needs to immediately recognize the death of the 6-week-old unborn child of assassinated Army Private Francheska Velez, a 21-year old native of Barack Hussein Obama’s hometown of Chicago… (Read More)

European Court Tells Italians to Take Down Their Crucifixes

In a preview of what a stronger European Union government will look like when it comes to religious freedom, Italians were stunned to hear that the European Court of Human Rights ruled that they had been violating the “religious and educational rights” of their children for generations by forcing them to attend school in classrooms with crucifixes hanging on their walls.

The court’s decision came about as a result of a 2002 complaint:

…a Finnish-born mother of two children in the Italian school system objected to the crucifixes in their classrooms. The school principal was unmoved. Italy’s Constitutional Court dismissed her complaint. So she filed a case in Strasbourg, France, and now she’s won.

The Euro court’s ruling hasn’t exactly had the intended effect.  In fact, quite the opposite… (Read More)

Super Boots

Just how many jobs has the “stimulus” created?  Today’s Wall Street Joural points to an interesting claim by the Obama administration…

“…how many Americans does it take to make nine pairs of work boots? According to the White House’s recovery.gov site, an $890 shoe order for the Army Corps of Engineers, courtesy of the stimulus package, created nine new jobs at Moore’s Shoes & Services in Campbellsville, Kentucky…”

Yep.  Super Boots.  Able to create multiple jobs in a single laceup.

The Democratic Party is scared to death of Sarah Palin

Lookie what bounced into my inbox:

Right now, Sarah Palin is on a highly publicized, nationwide book tour, attacking President Obama and his plan for health reform at every turn.

It’s dangerous. Remember, this is the person who coined the term “Death Panels” — and opened the flood gates for months of false attacks by special interests and partisan extremists.

Whatever lie comes next will be widely covered by the media, then constantly echoed by right-wing attack groups and others who are trying to defeat reform.

As we approach the final sprint on health reform, we can’t afford more deception and delay. We need to be ready for anything — and have the resources to respond with ads, events, and calls to Congress when the attacks come.

So we’re setting a big goal: $500,000 in the next week to help push back against Sarah Palin and her allies. Please chip in $5 or more to help reach our goal.

Please donate

Earlier this month, Palin publicly said that she hopes health reform will be “dead on arrival.” And since then, she’s been working fiercely toward that goal.

On Tuesday, Palin went on Rush Limbaugh’s radio show where she outrageously — and falsely — suggested that Americans could “face jail time as punishment” if they don’t buy insurance.

Palin has many more interviews scheduled on Hannity and other conservative shows in the next few weeks, with more platforms to go after the President. As soon as she does, the rest of our opponents will likely parrot those attacks.

We need to be prepared. And we’re counting on you help. Can you chip in $5 or more?

Margaret and Helen’s Thanksgiving Letter to the Family 2009

A very funny posting, by two of the funniest ladies in Blogging. I don’t care of they are liberals. The writing is just absolutely hilarious. Check out their blog too; it’s a great read.

Dear Family,

This year I am thankful to have you as my family rather than a normal American family. I say that because Sarah Palin is fond of talking about her family being a normal American family.

Last time I checked everyone in my family knows where Africa is on a globe. Everyone goes to college after high school. We’ve had no teen pregnancies as of yet and no one has appeared in Playgirl. If the Palins are a normal American family, I guess my bunch of anti-American socialists are fine by me.

But we have our own issues. For instance, some of us are Aggies and others are Longhorns. Which makes for interesting choices for some of you. If a football game is more important than Thanksgiving, then consider this my last will and testament: When I die, it’s all going to charity.

Thanksgiving dinner will be moved to Friday after all of you have returned from your important tailgating party. And now that I have made that little sacrifice, I am sure you will all work extra hard to comply with a few rules.

1. Cloe. I am begging you honey. None of that Jello crap. No one eats it and the garbage stinks for a week after I throw it out. You and Jello are like Palin and McCain. How many times before you learn no one wants seconds much less firsts.

2. Jennifer. Your children are cute. We all can agree on that. Your husband’s video camera capturing every runny nose and bowel movement– not so much. Keep this up honey and you’ll have one posing for Playgirl before you know it. It’s just not natural to be that comfortable in front of a camera. Ten minutes of video when you first arrive and then the camera goes back into the camera bag.

3. Trudy. If your brother and sister want to come, they can be on time like everyone else. If they are late again this year, they can eat what the dogs don’t finish.

4. Rhonda. It’s my oven and once again I’ll be using it right up until mealtime. If you can’t bring something that doesn’t require heating, then don’t bring anything at all.

5. Mary. Your kid’s dirty shoes and my clean sofa have never met. Let’s keep it that way.

6. If you are a meat-eater, try a vegetable for your health. If you are a vegetarian, try the stuffing for the bacon. Either way, you’ll be cured of what ails you.

7. If I see one grandchild doing that texting stuff, there will be no pie for dessert. If I see one parent checking email… scratch that – new rule. Leave your cell phone in your car. They used to be called mobile phones for a reason. Now-a-days the only thing mobile about your phone is your thumbs. Trust me. Skinny thumbs and a fat ass are not a good look.

8. Jonathan. How a Republican ended up in this family is beyond me, but we love you all the same. That said, Reagan is dead darling. Get over it.

9. I cooked the meal. Your grandfather paid for it. You can clean the kitchen and we’ll call it even.

10. Honestly, if you insist on bringing anything, bring some butter. I go through about 20 sticks to get this meal on the table and I might as well start stocking up for Christmas now.

11. Marshall. I am sure you believe that your children sing beautifully. Don’t put me in a situation where I have to make you question your beliefs.

12. Grandpa Harold says if the Longhorns win, the bar is open. If they lose, the party is BYOB.

Now that is some seriously funny stuff; no matter what your politics are. 😀

A few words about Oprah Winfrey

I had read about Oprah Winfrey deciding to stop her show come 2011. I really was not going to say much about that, after all the most of the right wing blogs were really trashing the woman and I did not want to be a part of that, at all. As an unrepentant capitalist, I have to agree with the words of Bill O’Rielly, when it comes to Oprah:

I mean this is a woman that came from nothing to rise up to be the most powerful woman, I think, in the world. I think Oprah Winfrey is the most powerful woman in the world, not just in America. That’s — anybody who goes on her program immediately benefits through the roof. I mean, she has a loyal following; she has credibility; she has talent; and she’s ‘s done it on her own to become fabulously wealthy and fabulously powerful — (Original Source Here)

Let me first state that I do not admire this woman’s politics, nor do I admire her idiotic “Self Religion” nonsense that she promotes on her show and in her books. However, there is something to be said about a woman, in fact, was born in abject poverty and then rose up out of her personal situation to become one of the most successful talk show personalities in the entire world. Like it or not, my fellow capitalist Conservative friends, but the woman is worth 2.3 Billion dollars.  In street terms, “That’s a whole bunch of flow!”

So, while some of my friends to the right of me in politics might want to rip on her. I have nothing bad to say about her, because frankly, she has done very well in our open capitalistic society. Oprah started with nothing, got a very lucky break, worked her behind off, and made something out of nothing; I, as a Conservative, who believes in a free market system cannot find a gripe with that at all. She, in fact, deserves the riches she has acclaimed, as she earned it.

On a more personal level, I can hardly believe that it has been 25 years since Oprah’s show first hit the airwaves. That makes me feel so hideously old. I remember the very funny promotional commercials for her show; that very playfully poked fun at her first name. I remember watching some of the first shows and thinking, “Who in the name of the Almighty would watch something like this?” Well, Lucky for Oprah, I guess not everyone thinks like me.

Therefore, in closing, I will say this — while I do not agree with her politics, which are decidedly left. I do wish her the best. I hope she continues to make a difference for good in the world. I just wish that Oprah would realize that the very politics that she supports wants to steal the very wealth that she has worked so very hard for and give to those who not only do not deserve it, but also never worked a day in their lives for it.

Living Proof that Liberals are classless assholes

This is quite nasty one too.

First the Video:

The Story and transcript is via NewsBusters:

After introducing Lopez on her CNN Headline News program last night, Behar played a clip of Lopez’s HBO special in which he said, “There are a lot of politicians that would be Latinos and a lot now who are Latino. Sarah Palin, Latina. Believe me. She’s got all the signs. She works and her husband don’t.”

Later in the segment, after commenting about Palin’s lack of experience, Lopez stated, “I mean, the concept of Todd Palin being a stay-at-home dad-listen Joy, when I was a kid, those guys were called bums.”

“Uh-huh. They’re still called bums,” agreed Behar.

The reality about Todd Palin is this, which was noted by the Washington Post; when they did a smear on Palin:

…But Todd Palin, 44, the ruggedly handsome four-time winner of the 2,000-mile Iron Dog snowmobile race, was already an Alaska star before his wife’s election in 2006. Along with his family duties, he held two jobs, working occasional 85-hour weeks as an oil production operator for BP and, for a month each summer, as a commercial salmon fisherman in Bristol Bay.

So much for Todd Palin being a bum eh? 🙄

Oh and there’s more:

Lopez didn’t simply insult the Palins’ division of labor, but opened fire on her looks and other situations regarding her family after Behar asked him, “What other signs are there that Palin is Latino?”

“She has a child and a grandchild the same age, and the tell-tale sign is she needs to get her roots done,” Lopez replied.

Not content to leave the insults there, Behar asked Lopez if he lived in Palin’s “real America.” Lopez stated, in a nod to the infamous Tina Fey parody of Palin’s “Russia” answer, “Well, I can’t see Mexico from my porch, so I don’t think so.”

A turn in the conversation where Behar claimed to not know what Palin was talking about when she discusses the “liberal elite” led Lopez to comment on Palin’s role as governor and former vice-presidential candidate, and her “bum” husband:

“I’m not even sure if she knows what she’s talking about at this point. I mean, her whole life is really one of those things where because of the reality and the reality stars and the situations, you know, being a governor of Alaska would have been a great gig if that was it, but to take that thing and try to take it global or through the United States when you haven’t been a political figure and you haven’t traveled and you haven’t gone to Congress and you haven’t passed any major bills, it’s a difficult pill to have America swallow. I mean, the concept of Todd Palin being a stay at home dad — listen, joy, when I was a kid, those guys were called bums.”

Such class from those who won the election and now have their President. Sarah Palin is not even running for office, but yet, they feel the need to attack here. Such class, such noble political correctness; I am not a big fan of Sarah Palin; as I have written before —  but this just shows me, that the Liberal Elite fear her still to this day. America will remember this come 2012 —feminists especially. This is classic liberal overreach; it will come back to haunt them come 2010 and 2012. They need to enjoy it while they can. Because when the public speaks again, it will not be pretty, I can assure you of that.

According to Rasmussen, John McCain’s Money is not going to buy 2010 election

Like it has bought the rest of them….

Senator John McCain’s future in the U.S. Senate may be a little less assured than previously thought.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely 2010 Republican Primary voters in Arizona finds the longtime incumbent in a virtual tie with potential challenger J.D. Hayworth. McCain earns 45% of the vote, while Hayworth picks up 43%.

Former Minuteman leader Chris Simcox gets four percent (4%) support, while two percent (2%) prefer some other candidate and seven percent (7%) are undecided.

Hayworth, a conservative former U.S. congressman who now is a popular radio talk show host in Phoenix, is reportedly interested in the race but has not formally declared for it. He captures 59% of the male GOP vote, while McCain wins 58% of female voters.

Younger GOP voters like Hayworth more than their elders. McCain has a solid lead among the relatively small number of moderate and liberal Republicans in the state while Hayworth picks up a plurality (48%) of conservatives.

via Election 2010: Arizona Senate GOP Primary – Rasmussen Reports™.

I hate to be the one to say it; But, I am glad as hell that John McCain is going to get his tail kicked in the primary. The Late Senator Barry Goldwater hated this man’s guts till the day he died. Goldwater saw McCain as a made man; who got in on his family’s name. Here is hoping that Hayworth runs and defeats this RINO once and for all!

Breitbart to AG Holder: Do your job douche nozzle or we will burn the Democrats come 2010!

Oh Man, there’s gonna be many a Democrat singing the blues, if Eric Holder does not do his job before 2010.

The Video:

Breitbart: There’s a lot of hypocrisy and the dust has settled for ACORN and at the end of the day they’ve recognized that Eric Holder, the Attorney General, has not initiated an investigation into ACORN after we now have seven tapes. There were five initially that came out, ACORN was defunded by the Senate, was defunded by the House, lost it’s link to the Census; while all that damage occurred, Congress didn’t come in to investigate them, obviously not the Attorney General’s office, and they’ve now realized let’s get back into business because they realized that the dust settled and they were not being investigated, it was Hannah, James, and me who were being investigated, that’s why we’ve been forced to offer this latest tape.

Hannity: Are you saying, Andrew, that there are more tapes?

Breitbart: Oh my goodness there are! Not only are there more tapes, it’s not just ACORN. And this message is to Attorney General Holder: I want you to know that we have more tapes, it’s not just ACORN, and we’re going to hold out until the next election cycle, or else if you want to do a clean investigation, we will give you the rest of what we have, we will comply with you, we will give you the documentation we have from countless ACORN whistleblowers who want to come forward but are fearful of this organization and the retribution that they fear that this is a dangerous organization. So if you get into an investigation, we will give you the tapes; if you don’t give us the tapes, we will revisit these tapes come election time.

Hannity: This is a blockbuster, what you’re saying here. You guys have more tapes, you’ll release them before the election, that could have a big impact on the election, obviously…

via Big Government  – Breitbart to AG Holder: Investigate ACORN or We’ll Release More Tapes Just Before 2010 Election.

Needless to say; this election cycle coming in 2010 is going to be an extremely interesting one.  😯 If I were holder, I would be contacting Andrew and pronto. Because if there is something huge that Andrew is sitting on, like a corruption tape, involving say, The President. The fall out would be huge; As in Richard Nixon kind of huge.

Global-Warming E-Mail Hack-Gate

This one is quite the big story; although there are some doubters.

Check out the round up; that itself is a doozy!

Michelle Malkin wisely adds:

First things first: The alleged hackers need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

I couldn’t agree more. Nobody and I mean, nobody; deserves to have their private e-mails printed anywhere, at all. Even if they are peddling with the greatest hoaxes known to mankind.

I personally would like to know who exactly was behind this hacking; if it were a Conservative blogger or someone connected to one. I would like to see him exposed and shamed in the Blogosphere. Because we Conservatives; especially those who are Republicans, do NOT believe in lawlessness; and that is exactly what this was, Anarchy and it is wrong.

Not feeling well today.

How I feel.....

How I feel.....

Yes, that’s right folks. I feel like crap right now and No, it is not because I went to this. I could not have gotten there; if I’d wanted to.

What the problem is; is that my body clock is whacked at the moment. Staying up reading Find-a-Death till 6 in the morning and then getting up at 11 in the morning is NOT conducive to a productive day of blogging.

So, until I can get my shiznit together; I suggest you check out some of the other Blogs in my Blogroll and check out the latest at Memeornadum, which is in my left sidecar.
