I decided that the other look was just not for me. Some people were complaining that the blog was too hard to read and indeed, I noticed it myself. So, I’ve changed it up.

Update on my Dad
As I reported yesterday, my Dad went in for a procedure to remove a blockage in his leg.
Well, I am very happy to report that my Dad went through it with flying colors and is kicking at the stalls to get out of the hospital!
Well, Dad cannot leave the hospital until he sees his doctor. Which will happen sometime hopefully soon today. When that happens, I will be going to get him.
My thanks to all of you, who did pray for him; especially those on twitter.

Testing WordPress for iPod
Hi Gang!
Just out here on the front porch, testing the WordPress for iPod app. It’s not a laptop, but hey, I can do the blog from out here! I have to love the autocorrect feature. But those results can be funny too.
I do not see how to put links into posts yet. Reading up on that here shortly.

Update: Meh, Nice little application. But, there is no rich text editor at all. Who wants to sit there and manual type out code for a link to a URL? Not to mention, copying and pasting a link on an iPod is a pain in the rear. So, yeah, maybe, if I was a photo blogger, that would be nice. But, if you’re a serious text blogger like me, that app is useless. Also, I have many categories on my blog, it does not alphabetize them and it does not give you a list of tags, not even most used. Nice app, but useless for my needs.
Just a birther FYI….
Just an FYI on the Birther situation. As a Blogger I get a crapload of e-mail at my “official” blog email address. I am going through my e-mails and anything that even remotely speculates that President Barack Obama is not an American citizen or says that the Certificate that President Barack Obama released is bogus, that list, I will be removing myself from. Sorry folks, I’ve had it with this conspiracy theory bullshit once and for all. If you’re birther, don’t even bother e-mailing me; because the issue is now settled. I’m done with it and I hope like hell that everyone on the right is too.
Yes, they are Americans too; I did say that, but at this point, they are Americans who should be ignored.
Keep my Father in your prayers
As you might have noticed, I have not been paying much attention to this blog at all. I do have an excuse. My Father is not doing too well, he has complained about pain in his legs, especially one of them particular. Because of this, this Friday at 2:00P.M., My Father will be going for what is being called a routine procedure to find out what is causing the lack of blood flow to his one leg and correct the problem.
Normally, this would not be a problem; but the word “Blood clot” was mentioned. Well, to use a trucker slang of sorts; that is when I stood on the air brakes and stopped the World from turning — Well, my world at least. You see, I lost a very close and friend of mine at the age of 43, due to a blood clot that traveled to his heart from his arm and caused a massive heart attack. That friend’s heart did have some massive blockage already that caused the heart attack, but just same the same; block clots and heart attacks are not what I consider a good time, if you know what I mean. I guess what I am saying here, is that the entire darned thing is freaking me out a bit. Especially seeing that I have to go and sit down there and wonder if this doctor is going to kill my dad or not. The whole idea that they refer to administering medical aid to people as “Practice” sends a shiver down my spine. You ask, “What about your Mother?” She cannot leave my Aunt, who is mentally challenged, alone — as she needs constant care. Therefore, the duty of official family going with my Dad falls on yours truly. My Mom does have a sister, but I will not go into all of that; let’s just say she could give Charlie Sheen a run for his money, in terms of being a blithering idiot.
My Father is my friend, which is a vast improvement over my teenage years, when we could hardly stand being around one another. I have gotten older and so has he; we have both mellowed out. However, there are still times, when he drives me up a forty-foot steel wall, of which I most generously admit to reciprocating. Having said that, he is still my Father and I do love the man beyond words; although, I will admit, we both have a funny way of showing it. Although I will tell you this, and if I did not mention this, my mother would most likely beat me senseless, or at least think about it. Remember my aunt that I mentioned —- My Father has been an Angel to her. By going out of his way, to make her feel loved. By cooking her food, tending to her, when she is crying about something that is hurting, often not knowing what it is, as she cannot speak to convey what the trouble is. By tucking her in at night and making sure, she is comfortable. He does all of that, without ever complaining once about it.
Having said all of that, My Father is the rock of this family and if anything ever happened to him or my Mom, his wife of over 40 years; I would be left with a hole in my heart and in this family, the size of the Grand Canyon. So, please, those of you who actually read here or wherever I happen to cross-post my writings. Please, keep my Father in your prayers; whatever God it is that you happen to pray to or even if you do not believe in the deity or just happen to be an atheist, say a small prayer or think a good thought about my Dad and myself and more importantly, my Mother. Pray that the good Lord would guide the doctor’s hands and do what is need to fix him and that nothing bad would even remotely happen.
My Dad’s name is Charlie, and he is 65 years young. He gave 31 years of his life to the General Motors Company, he votes Democratic Party, but I do not hold it against him. Pray for him this week and especially on Friday, if you would please.

FYI: Russian Hackers Targeting Conservative Blogs
This is a bit of a heads up; it appears that Russian hackers are on the prowl again. They are basically targeting Conservative blogs here in America. Michelle Malkin announced that she had be hacked.
This info is for those who run self-hosting blogs, if you are on WordPress.com or Blogger.com or yes, even at Typepad; you have zero to worry about. However, if you are self hosed or run WordPress at your own domain; you need to add the following to your .HTACCESS file.

If you have zero idea what this is, contact your hosting company.
We Conservatives should expect an uptick in hacking attempts on Conservative Blogs as time progresses here and Obama’s agenda falls apart. Expect to see progressive hackers to try and bring down Conservative blogs. To avoid charges; they will employ hackers from third world Countries and countries; like Russia, to do their bidding.
Another thing to remember; if you are running WordPress on your own Server; YOU MUST KEEP THE SOFTWARE UPDATED AT ALL TIMES! Otherwise, you are basically a moving open target! If you access the back end of your blog; which you should, at least once a week — and you see a notice to upgrade, DO IT! Don’t just look at the damned notice. Quickest way is this:
1. Disable ALL Plug-ins
2. Hit upgrade button
3. Turn on all plug ins and look for errors.
If you see errors and you know how to fix ’em, then do so, if you don’t, either get rid of the plug in, which is now doable via WordPress back end; or look for a newer plug in via WordPress’s plug in repository. Really, losing an few year’s worth of work, is NOT worth a silly plug in that is outdated and not being supported any longer.
I also recommend this plug in for wordpress, that limits logins to your site. There is also a plugin that will do a security scan on your blog as well. I use it and I think you should too. I also recommend that you read this here, on how to “harden” WordPress. against attacks.
Folks, it’s all about being smart about this sort of stuff. We can out wit the hackers, we just have to know how.

Honestly guys, do you really think that I am that stupid to leave the login to this blog at default?
As it is, I have all *.RU domains blocked, which means anyone in Russia cannot access this blog, right now, at all. Plus, I have a few IP addresses also blocked, that the idiots have been using to try getting into my blog.
I swear, I mistakenly write something on my “about me” page and these idiots think it is open season. Well, gents, I’ve got excellent hosting and I know my stuff when it comes to dealing with morons like you. So, keep it up, and you’ll having to explain to Russian police why you were trying to hack a blog.

Prayers Needed: Battling Stomach Ailment
Just wanted to let everyone know that reads here and follows me in twitter; that I am not doing very well at all. 🙁
I have an idea what caused it, local pizza place that I love one night, and Mexican food the next; it all together, just irritated the crap out of my digestive system.
Either way, been in quite a bit of pain; plus, I am remanded to cottage cheese and a banana and a glass of milk. That’s what I had for lunch.
Last night the pain was so bad, that I was almost told my folks to take me to the hospital; but I knew what that would involve — running a hose, with a light on it, up my butt and see what the trouble is. Not my idea of a good time. 🙁
I have had this problem in the past. It has been a while; but something in there is a irritated really bad and is not a happy camper — and boy do I feel it. 🙁
So, until I heal up and quit hurting; Blogging will be lite or non-existent for a while.
All Prayers, incantations, and good ol’ fashioned, good Ju Ju sent my way is appreciated. 🙂

Taking the day off!
I have been blogging since 2006, and believe it or not, I have not taken any time off for any length of time. Well, I have taken hiatuses; but the majority of them did not last too long. I have also, admittedly slowed down on the blogging a bit.
Anyhow, Today, is the Lord’s Day and for once; I am taking it off. Yes, by the time this posting goes live, I will be mid-snore. I have exactly one thing on my “I must do this list” and that is my daily Bible reading. After that, I will be in one of three places; over there in the bed, with the TV remote channel surfing, in the “necessary room” “combing my hair” or in the kitchen fixing me a bite of food. Of course, if we get that winter storm from hell, that we’re supposed to get; I will most likely either running the snow blower or shoveling off the front porch!
Either way, I am going to take day away from twitter and this Blog; I need it, there comes a point when one has to just walk away for a while and stop worrying about politics.
Anyhow, at the time that this posting becomes active; I will most like be snoring my fool head off. I have been keep late hours as of late. I need to get back into the habit of getting up early; but I have a fatal flaw, I love the night owl shift and sleeping in. 😛
Sort of makes that whole, up the chickens bit a little rough! 😀
So, anyhow, I will resume my blogging activities on Monday….sometime. Not to worry, I will come to the laptop, scan the e-mails and make sure nothing big happens and I miss out on it.

Finally, after many years of writing; someone finally thought I was important enough to ask me my opinion of something and I ended up on their book! Woo Hoo! Ahem… sorry, got a little carried away there. 😛
Anyhow, before I give this book plug, let me explain how in the world that I ended up on Zack’s book. Back around the 2008 election or so; I had this idea of posting political cartoons on my Blog. This lead to me doing so on a regular basis, as you can see here.
You’ll also notice that they are all sprawling off the page too; this is because I just recently changed themes, because my old one was making the blog using the server that hosts it to go crazy, which did not go over well with the hosting company. 😳 🙄
Anyhow, sometime during that time period; I was contacted by a few political cartoonists that were just starting up. One of those people was Zack Rawsthorne. Zack’s stuff is admittedly biased — but very funny. Zack and I share a common thing; we are both people who see the liberal left for what it is — hypocritical.
Having said all of the above. let me state publicly, I very highly recommend the book. If you have seen the political cartoons here at my blog; then you know what to expect. So, head on over and grab a copy of this book. After all, Zack has to justify sending me this free copy for something! 😉 😛 😀
Again, let me say this also publicly; I am extremely grateful and very highly honored to included on Zack’s book. I do now have a reason to keep this pea-picking blog up now, because I surely do expect to have people coming to inquire as to just who this “political byline” weirdo is. HEH! 😛

As you now have noticed, I did change themes. The old place needed a coat of paint anyhow. I had been using that other theme for a few years and it was getting a little stale. This new one is a nice, and it does not bork out the server! (I hope!)
We’ll see what happens with this.

Another Blogger is in need of Financial Help
To ALL my readers, let’s put partisan politics aside and help:
I find myself in deep financial trouble. My hours have been cut once again, which means I’m done, ruined, forked, at least for the short term while I try to find another source of income. It appears, given the current job market and my age, that the other source will have to be early Social Security.
I thought, even before my job situation became more tenuous, things were going to be tight, so I cut back my expenses to the bone. I’ve even canceled my health insurance, praying that I wouldn’t have any untoward accident or condition arise that would cost me more than $1,400 a month (my premium). So far I’ve been lucky in that respect, and I qualify for Medicare on August 1.
The short term, however, is disastrous. Last night I received my 3-day notice from the landlord. I will be out of cash and homeless very shortly if I don’t come up with enough cash to show my landlord that I’m not a total flake. I need to raise $2,000 by Monday/Tuesday. — cab drollery: Help Needed
I realize that this person’s politics might just be different from mine, but folks, living on the street just sucks. Let’s all dig deep and give this lady a hand. Politics is one thing, real life is another. Give what you can.
