The Politics of Distraction

In the interest of full disclosure, I am not an expert when it comes to political debates. I do not have some magical ability to be able to determine how someone did or whether they “won” the debate or not. However, I do know when I see blatant stupidity. This is one of those times.

How does one compensate for when a presidential candidate loses a debate and performs poorly? The said person’s campaign screams, “They cheated!” as long and loud as possible to distract from that fact that said person did quite poorly in the debate.

Such is the case, in the recent “civil” Non-Debate between John McCain and Barack Obama. This was not even a debate at all, but rather a “supposed” interview between a so-called Pastor Rick Warren and the presidential candidates for President of the United States. In the interest of full disclosure, I have little or no use for “Pastor” Rick Warren’s type of “Christianity for Dummies” style of Ministry. I made it through half of a chapter of his book, “The Purpose Driven Life,” and quickly realized that it was nothing more than Robert Schuller humanistic theology made palatable for Non-Reformist Christians.

However, the issue here at hand is. Did McCain cheat? McCain was in a motorcade coming to the event, which hardly qualifies as cheating. It seems to me that someone who was better prepared beat Obama, badly. That person was John McCain. I will let it be known, that I do not support John McCain for President of the United States. However, for Obama to infer that McCain cheated shows that Obama is not someone who is even remotely ready for the office of President of The United States. He lacks the talent, He lacks the experience, and he lacks the ability to debate his positions.

Roman Catholic Thug Bill Donohue wants to control free speech.

This is stupid beyond words.

Via Catholic League:

“The list of credentialed blogs include radical sites like The Daily Kos. Worse are blogs that feature anti-Catholic and obscene material. The two most offensive are Bitch Ph.D. and Towleroad.

“On the home page of Bitch Ph.D. there is a picture of two children: one of them is shown flashing his middle finger. Today’s lead post, which was written August 17, is called ‘Jesus Christ.’ It begins with, ‘I’m a really crappy Catholic who hasn’t been to mass in ages because most parishes around here ‘will’ insist on being aggressively anti-abortion….’ The writer then objects to some children’s toys on the grounds that they are more offensive than desecrating the Eucharist. The toys are actually balloons that have been made to depict Jesus in various poses, including a crucified Christ; one of these images shows Jesus with a penis. Several who commented on this image made patently obscene comments.

Towleroad describes itself as ‘A Site with Homosexual Tendencies.’ Accordingly, it shows men in jock straps and underwear. It also has a post on Pope Benedict XVI that takes him to task for wearing a cape with ermine. Some of those who commented on this described the pope in a vile and profane way.

“Both of these blogs should be cut immediately from the list of credentialed sites. Neither functions as a responsible media outlet and both offend Catholics, as well as others. To allow them access to the Democratic National Convention sends a message to Catholics they will not forget. We look for Leah Daughtry, CEO of the Convention, to nix them ASAP.”

I tend to believe that Mr. Donohue might want to rethink his position on this, because insulting the Catholic Church is one thing, but suppression of free speech is another, especially in the Blogging world. This could backfire in the face of Bill and his band of idiots.

You know you’re having a bad day as a Presidential Candidate when……..

When the damned Homosexuals want nothing to do with you! 😯 😮

This comes via Ben Smith’s Blog at Politico.com

The executives of a gay sex site are apparently more concerned about the perception that they’re associated with John McCain than McCain is about the association with them.

The chairman of the board of Manhunt, the Cambridge-based hookup site, was forced to resign after reports that he gave $2,300 to McCain.

Manhunt co-founder Larry Basile e-mailed the blog Towleroad:

It should be known that Jonathan Crutchley’s donation to McCain left the entire Board in disbelief. I am disappointed that we have lost some customers, and I understand the anger. It is too bad for the web site if we lose customers, but PLEASE never refer to me as a Republican. I consider it an offense.

Earlier today, at the request of the Board, Jonathan has stepped down as Chairman.

McCain’s campaign hasn’t responded to questions about the $2,300 contribution.

Heh….. I mean, when a homosexual website’s board asks the Chairman to hit the road, because he gave to John McCain, that’s pretty sad. 😆

Where’s the log cabin Republicans when you need ’em?

Rush Limbaugh, You Blew it Pal

A little while back, before this Blog moved to its new server. There was a rather nice article in the New York Times about Rush Limbaugh. At the time, I wrote a few lines about Rush and his success in the radio field.

However, when I saw the news of what Rush Limbaugh said about Elizabeth Edwards, I was absolutely sickened by what I heard and saw.

Anyone who knows me and regularly reads this blog of mine, knows that I spare no one from criticism on this Blog. I do it to Liberals and I also do to Conservatives as well, especially those in power in Washington D.C.

However, what was said by Rush Limbaugh, went well beyond good taste and just regular Conservative cheese-head humor. This my friends was just out right vulgar.

Here it is, and I don’t want to hear no crap about me getting this from a Liberal source okay? Because it’s worthy of mentioning:

Click here to go watch the Video

Here is the transcript: (via Media Matters for America)

From the August 12 broadcast of Premiere Radio Networks’ The Rush Limbaugh Show:

LIMBAUGH: Back to the phones. Winston-Salem, North Carolina, this is James. Nice to have you here, sir. Hello. Is he gone? James, you there? Aw, darn. He wanted to talk about Edwards and who knew and what were the motivations. And I’ve got a theory about the motivations. Well, I don’t know that I could — I don’t know that I can put this one on the air.

JAMES GOLDEN (contributor known on-air as “Bo Snerdley”): Why not?

LIMBAUGH: Well, it’s — I mean, at some point, at some point, you gotta exhibit maturity and restraint. You know, and I do that constantly. But — well, I don’t — look, let me see if I can run you through this and get you to think what I’m thinking without my actually saying it. That might be a pretty big talent if I could do that — make you think what I’m going to say without my having to say it, therefore if anybody gets in trouble for saying it, you say it.

We know — we’ve been told that Elizabeth Edwards is smarter than John Edwards. That’s part of the puff pieces on them that we’ve seen. Ergo, if Elizabeth Edwards is smarter than John Edwards, is it likely that she thinks she knows better than he does what his speeches ought to contain and what kind of things he ought to be doing strategy-wise in the campaign? If she is smarter than he is, could it have been her decision to keep going with the campaign? In other words, could it be that she doesn’t shut up? Now, that’s as far as I’m going to go.

Well, you’re — Snerdley says he’s missing something. If you’re missing it, you’re going to have to provide it. What are you missing? Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.

I can’t close the loop on it. I can’t close the loop on it. I’m on — you know, I’m in a little quicksand already today talking about how the chicks are giving us boring pictures of the female athletes from the Olympics. Because I know — you — the diversity crowd’s going to be upset. They’re going to — “Ooh, do you mean the Olympics are just so you guys can ogle wom–” Yes, because we do not care to watch ’em compete. But back to Elizabeth and the Breck Girl.

I’m sorry, my friends, I just — I can’t. It just seems to me that Edwards might be attracted to a woman whose mouth did something other than talk.

[…]

LIMBAUGH: OK, we’re back. Ladies and gentleman, my theory that I just explained to you about why — you know, what could have John Edwards’ motivations been to have the affair with Rielle Hunter, given his wife is smarter than he is and probably nagging him a lot about doing this, and he found somebody that did something with her mouth other than talk. I think I can back this up from her.

We have a sound bite. This is February 2007. She was on the tabloid show Extra. And this is what she said. Listen very carefully.

HUNTER : The whole experience was life-altering for me. One of the great things about John Edwards is that he’s so open and willing to try new things and do things in new ways.

LIMBAUGH: “Open to new things.” Folks, it is what it is. You get mad at me for bringing the truth to you, but it is what it is.

As expected, Keith Olbermann, who himself has been guilty of a few incidents himself, although, none of them compare to this, had a few things to say about this:

Transcript: (via MSNBC)

OLBERMANN: The American sage H.L. Mencken once defined Puritanism as the haunting fear that someone, somewhere may be happy. But since Mencken‘s death in 1956, there has emerged a new and more complex form of American puritan, a man haunted by the fear that someone, somewhere may be happy doing something he is also doing, that he thinks is his right, but no one else‘s. Such a creature is Rush Limbaugh, who should have learned that when the new Puritanism attacks a sinner like, say, Bill Clinton, it invariably overdoes it to such a degree that America recoils and soon perceives the sinner as the victim and the new puritan as the jackass.

Our third story on the COUNTDOWN, with comments idiotic even for him, Limbaugh has turned John Edwards into a victim. Details in a moment. First, it is not like Senator Edwards is not trying to stay competitive. The senator had implied to ABC News that his affair was over by the time he announced his presidential candidacy on December 28, 2006. Elizabeth Edwards‘ brother and closest friend now telling “People Magazine” that John Edwards revealed the news of his extra-marital conduct slowly and not until the, quote, frenzy of the campaign‘s official launch.

Acquaintances of Rielle Hunter are also shedding doubt on John Edwards‘ version of events. One says the affair began six months before she started working for the Edwards‘ campaign. Of course, that woman answers to the first name of pigeon. For that matter, Rielle Hunter is a made up name. That woman was born Lisa Druck.

As to Elizabeth Edwards and her reaction to the affair, her brother saying she decided to stay with her husband because of her cancer diagnosis and the fact that her young children will not always have a mother.

Fortunately, the lunatic right will always have a mother, on the radio. Despite the wall-to-wall sleaze of the Edwards‘ saga, Rush Limbaugh is managing to make it look like a puddle, while he represents the backed up sewage plant down the street.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

RUSH LIMBAUGH, RADIO TALK SHOW HOST: We‘ve been told that Elizabeth Edwards is smarter than John Edwards. That‘s part of the puff pieces on them that we‘ve seen. Ergo, if Elizabeth Edwards is smarter than John Edwards, is it likely that she thinks she knows better than he does what his speeches ought to contain? And what kind of things he ought to be doing strategy wise in a campaign? If she is smarter than he is, could it have been her decision to keep going with the campaign?

In other words, could it be that she doesn‘t shut up? Now, that‘s as far as I‘m going to go.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

OLBERMANN: Actually, it wasn‘t. Never is. A minute later—

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

LIMBAUGH: It just seems to me that Edwards might be attracted to a woman—whose mouth did something other than talk.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

OLBERMANN: You mean like what you do with your mouth other than talk, consistently, endlessly wedge your own foot in it? What better pre-pubescent dream of genital waving dominance over all the women in the world than to blame the intelligence of a woman for her husband‘s infidelity. What a pure sentiment to share with the less well recompensed losers who comprise your audience than to dismiss their failures as husbands, as men, Rush, on the woman?

I mean even these days three divorces is a lot. A 38 million dollar salary and the guy can‘t keep the same woman. It‘s got to be the woman‘s fault, right? You wouldn‘t want an intelligent women reminding you that when you went after Bill Clinton, his approval ratings went up, and your two successive champions against him, your Republican two speakers of the House, had to resign in shame because of, oops, their own marital infidelity.

And you wouldn‘t want an intelligent woman around to say, as somebody should have said to Sean Hannity or somebody should have said to you, you know what, you keep bringing up Edwards and infidelity, and sooner or later, someone will bring up John McCain cheating on his wife while she was recovering from a terrible car accident. Somebody, even Alan Combs.

You wouldn‘t want an intelligent woman around you to say loosen up on the pedal on this Edwards‘ crap. The story was broken by the “National Enquirer.” They were the same people who broke that story about you and the pills.

You wouldn‘t want an intelligent woman around you, maybe to help you keep that dream job that you blew at ESPN. So instead of sitting around in a radio studio making fun a cancer victim, someone somewhere might still care about your opinion of the National Football League, and permit you to be on television.

Oh, no, nothing worse than having an intelligent woman around, Rush.

Rush Limbaugh is a hole.

To this let me simply say this. As you all know, I left the Democratic side of the political fence because I felt that the Democratic Party had drifted far from its original principles. I am kind of new to the Conservative side of the fence, as far as politics goes. But let me say this publicly on this Blog. I totally disassociate myself with these comments and this man. He does not speak for me, or Conservatism as a whole. What Rush Limbaugh said was inexcusable, and if I were calling the shots with the syndication network that carries Limbaugh, I would be tearing up his contract and letting him know, he was no longer going to be carried.

As a bit of a parting shot, let me ask this. Yesterday, there was a tragic murder of a Democratic Leader in Arkansas. My question is, why could it not have been Rush Limbaugh? Why couldn’t have it been Sean Hannity? Why could not it have been Michael Savage? Why could not it have been any of the rest of the idiots who go around giving Conservatism a damned black eye? …and not someone who was in the business of actually HELPING people? Instead of someone, like this idiot, who loves to mock and slander those who disagree with his Political ideologies?

Something is seriously wrong with the modern day Republican Party. If it does not change, the Republican Party is going to be run to the damned rat holes for a rather long time.

Ya know, I hate to make fun of people, but this too rich….

As you all know, I have WorldNetDaily in my sidebar. I like Joe Farah, even though he did act like a bit of a tool towards me once.

But someone needs to teach those guys how to use Google Adsense!

I was over looking around over there and I’m seeing the normal stuff, including an article on how wind will not solve our energy problems. Which doubles as a ad hawking Farah’s Magazine “Whistleblower”.

However, when I clicked on another page, I saw this, about mid-screen on the page.

wndhumor

You ever get the feeling that the right hand, doesn’t know what the left is doing over there at WorldNetDaily?

It’s called the Competitive Ad Filter people, Please, Look into it!

I think Joe Farah needs to hire me. Just so I can go around and keep him from looking like a blithering idiot. 😆 😉

Possibly one of the weakest responses to a situation…Ever

Okay, call me a cynic, call me a jerk, call me a… whatever… But this is just weak

I mean, Bush essentially went out and said… “Bad Russia, Bad!” But offered absolutely no repercussions, if Russia continued to attack Georgia. No threats of invasion, nothing.

He could have done better, in my opinion. It just sounded weak.

Russia warns of push into Georgia, The United States Government does nothing…

You know, I am going to say a few things about this, and I am most likely am going to be accused of either being a Bush-hater or a Neo-Conservative and Possibly even a Neo-Libertarian or even the highest honor of all, a Chickenhawk… But this crap needs to be said.

The Story: Officials: Russia warns of push into Georgia – (Via CNN.com)

Russian troops have warned they intend to push further into western Georgia, Georgian officials claimed Sunday as an increasingly violent territorial dispute in the former Soviet state threatened to spiral into a major international conflict.

The apparent move came after Georgian troops began withdrawing from South Ossetia, a breakaway region where military action by Tbilisi last week triggered a full scale military clash with Russia that some say has left hundreds dead.

Russia’s military action — which Moscow claims is a legitimate peacekeeping mission in response to Georgian aggression — has provoked criticism from the U.S., which Sunday condemned it as “disproportionate.”

Growing concerns over the conflict have threatened to spill over Georgia’s borders with Ukraine Sunday saying it might ban Russia’s fleet from Crimea bases after it mobilized off the coast of Abkhazia, another breakaway region.

Analysts say Russia is trying to assert its authority in the former Soviet Union territories, where it claims many people have greater allegiance to Moscow than to Western-leaning Tbilisi, a U.S. ally vying for NATO membership.

Violence has escalated over several days with claims of war planes shot down on either side and accusations of civilian casualties in bombing raids. Russia has claimed up to 2,000 people have died. Georgia puts the figure much lower.

As Russian troops took control in South Ossetia, the breakaway province where long-running tensions exploded into conflict last Thursday, the dispute threatened to open up on a second front Sunday.

Georgian Interior Ministry spokesman Shota Utiashvili said Russian forces plan to move into the city of Zugdidi, which is beyond the border of the second Georgian restive province of Abkhazia.

White House Deputy National Security Advisor Jim Jeffrey said the United States was urgently looking into the report, saying that it would be a very serious escalation for Russia to move into Georgia beyond the Abkhazia region.

My questions are this:

  • Where the hell is our damned President!?!?!?
  • Why isn’t President Bush telling Russia to either back off of Georgia or face a full scale attack by the United States and it’s allies?
  • Why is Bush over in a damned communist foreign country and being mettlesome in their affairs?
  • Could it be that he is more interested in playing “Kissy Face” to the Chinese government, so they will send us more money? Than he is helping defend a small country being picked on by a communist oppressor?

I’m sorry folks, but this truly does tweak me off. Why is our President more interested in playing “Kissy Kissy” bunch of Communists, Than he is making sure the peace and stability of the Georgia – Russian region is not preserved?

If I were President of the United States, I would make a public announcement that Russia had 48 hours to withdraw all forces from the region of Georgia or they would face a full scale air assault from the United States and it’s allies, and face a ground assault from the allied forces. I believe that it is high time, that the United States of America has finally defeated that totalitarian communist regime, once and for all. Sorry, I do not buy the epic lie that the Country of Russia is a free society, that my friends, is a smokescreen and a lie to fool the rest of the world.

Well, Mr. President, what is it going to be, action or cowardice?

Update: Since I posted this, a video has surfaced on the net, explaining what is really going on in Russia. Click here to watch it.

My thoughts on the Edwards Affair

Yes, I know about the Edwards affair story. I have been sitting here and thinking about it. A few thoughts:

  • Cheating on your wife, while she is terminal with cancer, makes you a scum ball in my book.
  • I do not buy the lie that he did not father the child. Why did he just not admit it?
  • Why did the media just sit on this, while the tabloids worked the story?
  • Somewhere, Ann Coulter is beside herself with glee and writing a very snarky column.
  • I feel terribly awful for Edward’s Adult Children, Kids, and of course, his poor wife.
  • Let us not forget, John McCain’s past, when it comes to Women, is not exactly honorable.
  • Let us also remember that Barack Obama is very happily married with two kids.

John Edwards has released an official statement: (Via Marc Ambinder @ The Atlantic)

In 2006, I made a serious error in judgment and conducted myself in a way that was disloyal to my family and to my core beliefs. I recognized my mistake and I told my wife that I had a liaison with another woman, and I asked for her forgiveness. Although I was honest in every painful detail with my family, I did not tell the public. When a supermarket tabloid told a version of the story, I used the fact that the story contained many falsities to deny it. But being 99% honest is no longer enough.

I was and am ashamed of my conduct and choices, and I had hoped that it would never become public. With my family, I took responsibility for my actions in 2006 and today I take full responsibility publicly. But that misconduct took place for a short period in 2006. It ended then. I am and have been willing to take any test necessary to establish the fact that I am not the father of any baby, and I am truly hopeful that a test will be done so this fact can be definitively established. I only know that the apparent father has said publicly that he is the father of the baby. I also have not been engaged in any activity of any description that requested, agreed to or supported payments of any kind to the woman or to the apparent father of the baby.

It is inadequate to say to the people who believed in me that I am sorry, as it is inadequate to say to the people who love me that I am sorry. In the course of several campaigns, I started to believe that I was special and became increasingly egocentric and narcissistic. If you want to beat me up – feel free. You cannot beat me up more than I have already beaten up myself. I have been stripped bare and will now work with everything I have to help my family and others who need my help.

I have given a complete interview on this matter and having done so, will have nothing more to say.

See ya silky, just go away, go away now and don’t ever come back.

Update: Reader Simon e-mails:

Hey Paleo Pat,

I read your post about John Edwards finally admitting to his affair. I
don’t know if you remember this, but the LA Times banned its bloggers
from writing about the Edwards affair story because they didn’t think
the National Enquirer was a “reputable” source. I actually got a phone
interview with one of the LA Times’ top editors who said so:

I bet the National Enquirer is feeling vindicated right now.

Anyway, I thought you and your readers would find this humorous.

Take care,
Simon

Yes, I do find this to be quite funny actually. Thanks Simon.

Whoa…: Obama’s Nazi Symbol?!?!

This is kinda spooky, if you ask me.

The Story: One Nation, Under a New Obama Salute – Washington Whispers (usnews.com)

George Bush had his three-fingered W salute that supporters flashed when greeting him at presidential campaign events in 2000. And now, if a Los Angeles creative agency gets its way, Sen. Barack Obama will see fans meet him with his own salute like the one above. “Our goal is to see a crowd of 75,000 people at Obama’s nomination speech holding their hands above their heads, fingers laced together in support of a new direction for this country, a renewed hope, and acceptance of responsibility for our future,” says Rick Husong, owner of The Loyalty Inc. Husong tells me that he got the idea after seeing the famous Obama-Progress poster by artist Shepherd Fairey. “We wanted to get involved some way,” he says. So, the agency came up with their own a symbol of hope and progress that also plays off Obama’s name. “We thought, ‘Let’s try and start a movement where even while walking down the street, people would hold up the O and you would know that they were for Obama,’ ” says Husong. Much thought went into the relatively simple idea. “You interlace your hands in a circle, the interlacing being a symbol of different types of people coming together and the circle a symbol of unity,” he says. Their design, unlike Fairey’s, is free, and Husong is urging people to download it and print it on posters and T-shirts. “We want to see it everywhere, but more importantly we want this sign to take the world by storm.”

Wanna see what the Symbol looks like?

If I remember correctly, there were a few other signs of Socialism…. Let’s see here:

From the Dept. of “Well, Duh!”

One of the funniest Political Blog postings I’ve ever seen. Identity Politics at it’s finest.

TheRoot.com asks, “Can Blacks be trusted to cover Obama?”

When a weary and jet-lagged Barack Obama took the stage on the last day of the UNITY Journalists of Color convention in Chicago last month, most of the attendees had already left. But there was still a healthy crowd of over 2,500 there to hear the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

That is when, according to the mainstream media, black folks apparently acted like natural-born fools.

As you all know, I am quite well known for my controversial remarks. It is what I do. So, I will not disappoint.

Saying that blacks can be totally trusted to cover Obama would be like saying that White Nationalists could be trusted to cover David Duke.

*snort*:The Obamassiah tries to pull an Al Sharpton and the American people don’t buy it at all

Uh oh…. Looks like the magic one has lost his touch.

Via Rasmussen

Sixty-nine percent (69%) of the nation’s voters say they’ve seen news coverage of the McCain campaign commercial that includes images of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton and suggests that Barack Obama is a celebrity just like them. Of those, just 22% say the ad was racist while 63% say it was not.

However, Obama’s comment that his Republican opponent will try to scare people because Obama does not look like all the other presidents on dollar bills was seen as racist by 53%. Thirty-eight percent (38%) disagree.

Both campaigns expressed a desire to move beyond the recent flap. On Saturday Obama backed off the racism charge and accused McCain’s campaign of cynicism instead. He also rejected McCain’s charge that the Democrat himself had brought race into the campaign with his dollar bill comment.

Heh, I guess the American people are not as stupid as the Obamassiah thinks they are.

What Obama did, as the title of this message says, was try and pull an Al Sharpton and played the card, and for a change, it did not work. Good. Maybe the American people will finally wise up and see this empty suit, Marxist Commie Liberal for what he really is.

Meanwhile, David “gurgleboy” Gergen spins like a top… Says McCain’s video makes Obama look “Uppity”. Elitist Maybe, but “Uppity, Not hardly. Check out the video:

From the “WTF?!?!” File: Illegal Immigrants come to OUR country illegally, and get deported by Hospitals and Illegal Aliens want to BITCH?!?!

This is unbelievable.

NYTimes.com
:

High in the hills of Guatemala, shut inside the one-room house where he spends day and night on a twin bed beneath a seriously outdated calendar, Luis Alberto Jiménez has no idea of the legal battle that swirls around him in the lowlands of Florida.

Shooing away flies and beaming at the tiny, toothless elderly mother who is his sole caregiver, Mr. Jiménez, a knit cap pulled tightly on his head, remains cheerily oblivious that he has come to represent the collision of two deeply flawed American systems, immigration and health care.

Eight years ago, Mr. Jiménez, 35, an illegal immigrant working as a gardener in Stuart, Fla., suffered devastating injuries in a car crash with a drunken Floridian. A community hospital saved his life, twice, and, after failing to find a rehabilitation center willing to accept an uninsured patient, kept him as a ward for years at a cost of $1.5 million.

This story reads like a cheap dime novel. The poor immigrant. The whole dice. I got four words for this one:

Give me a Break and Cry me a river

The facts are in this story is simply this. This young man choose to come our Country in a unlawful manner and was hurt in a accident and became a HUGE burden on our Health care system here in America.

…and you know what? The Hospital took care of business:

What happened next set the stage for a continuing legal battle with nationwide repercussions: Mr. Jiménez was deported — not by the federal government but by the hospital, Martin Memorial. After winning a state court order that would later be declared invalid, Martin Memorial leased an air ambulance for $30,000 and “forcibly returned him to his home country,” as one hospital administrator described it.

As they should have, the story goes on to say that, as this little criminal began to heal up, he began to act like a total ass in the hospital too. All because he was supposedly “Depressed”.

You know, I am just going to tell it like it is here. These filthy illegal immigrants come into our country unlawfully, and then when they’re hurt. They EXPECT us to care for them, and let the AMERICAN PEOPLE foot the bill! That, my dear readers is totally unconscionable.

As a Christian man, I do feel a bit of sympathy for his situation, but I do not have one ounce of sympathy for the fact that he was deported. Because HE DID NOT BELONG IN THIS COUNTRY IN THE FIRST DAMN PLACE!

Nice try by the Communist Liberal New York Times to try a paint a sob story, but this Conservative is not buying it, not one damn bit.

Chuck Baldwin: BUSH TRIP TO BEIJING OLYMPICS SHAMEFUL

Reposted from NewsWithViews.com:

By Chuck Baldwin

August 1, 2008
NewsWithViews.com

According to numerous press reports, President George W. Bush plans to attend the opening ceremonies of the Summer Olympics in Beijing, China later this month. Bush said that it “would be an affront to the Chinese people” if he stayed away. Other world leaders, including Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany and Prime Minister Gordon Brown of Britain, are choosing to not attend the opening ceremonies in the communist country.

It is hard for this writer to laud President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, but in this case, even the socialist Roosevelt showed more integrity than our so-called “conservative” President, George W. Bush. When the 1936 Olympics were held in Berlin, Germany, President Roosevelt refused to attend those ceremonies for fear that his presence would give honor and prestige to the notorious Adolf Hitler. And so it would have. And, by the same token, when President Bush attends the opening ceremonies in China, he is giving honor and prestige to the bloody butchers of Beijing who have persecuted, tortured, and murdered multiplied thousands of the Chinese people since the communist regime took power in 1949.

President Bush said it would be an affront to the Chinese people if he did not attend the Olympics. Wrong. It would be an affront to the Red Chinese tyrants. And they deserve to be affronted! Instead, by attending the Olympic ceremonies, Bush is choosing to affront the hundreds of thousands of Chinese victims who have suffered brutality and barbarism at the hands of the very people Bush will be wining and dining with. Actually, by participating in the Beijing Olympics, President Bush is an affront to freedom-loving people everywhere.

For example, the Chinese government has already created profiles of thousands of foreign journalists coming to cover the Olympic games. Communist officials will also be spying on virtually every visitor from the moment they arrive in China. Red Army surrogates will monitor virtually all Internet activity. One Chinese security official vowed “to punish anyone who takes part in a political, religious or ethnic demonstration or protest ‘in any form’ at an Olympic site during the 2008 Beijing Games.” (Source: The Washington Post)

In fact, Red China has been increasing its crackdowns on “dissenters” throughout 2007 and during the first half of this year in preparation for the Olympics. “There was a 20 percent increase over 2006 in convictions of citizens under China’s overly broad state security law that is often used to silence government critics.” (Source: The Washington Times) In other words, the approaching Olympic Games have served only to intensify the Beijing government’s oppression of the Chinese people.

The many thousands of freedom-loving people in persecuted lands across the globe (including China) feel betrayed and abandoned by President Bush–and rightly so. As President of the United States, Mr. Bush had an opportunity to send the loudest and clearest of messages to the people of the world that America was on the side of freedom and liberty, and that it respects and appreciates the thousands of persecuted people struggling for freedom under totalitarian governments. Instead, by choosing to sit beside the communist officials at the Olympic ceremonies, Mr. Bush has given credence and, at least, tacit support to a bunch of murderous thugs who are the modern-day symbols of oppression and tyranny.

Shame on you, Mr. Bush!

Stop the Presses! I am actually agreeing with a Liberal (For a Change….)

I must say, that I strongly disagree with the Statement of Ross Douthat, that somehow that this McCain video is racist.

Oliver Willis, of whom, has a rib tickling funny tagline of “Like Kryptonite To Stupid”, which I find to be absolutely hilarious. Says this:

I have to confess, I don’t think the overtones in the Paris Hilton/Britney Spears ad from McCain was about race. I think some on my side of the aisle are reading too much into this – the McCain people just aren’t smart enough to be that subtle.

The reaction from Democrats brings to mind an abused wife who now thinks of many/most men as abusive, without any evidence saying that. Dems have rolled over so much for aggressive Dems that the left is very sensitive to it. Then again, I’m okay with a more aggressive reaction to the very passive way Dems handled these things in the past.

I agree. I think Russ is kinda stretching this thing a wee bit too far. Even Andrew Sullivan does not buy it.

Like Mr. Willis says, I do not think that John McCain would be that blatantly stupid to toss a Political campaign into the wind, just to take a cheap shot at Obama.

Having said that, I think Obama’s continued use of the underhanded race card, which it seems McCain has just now come around to noticing is a bit foolish as well.

I think it would serve both camps well, to just get back to debating the ISSUES and not Race, Celebrity or any of that other idiotic nonsense, yes, he want to Germany and Iraq. Big effin’ deal, nail him on his politics and polices, keep this other nonsense out of it.

Real Smart McCain, Real Smart…

Is the people that are running John McCain’s campaign just terminally stupid or what?

Via Martin Eisenstadt‘s Blog:

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it seems that the new McCain ad criticizing Obama for being a celebrity has ruffled some unintended feathers. I, for one, quite liked the ad, but I hear whispers from the inner campaign staff that the phone was burning off the hook today with calls from Paris Hilton’s grandfather, William Barron Hilton (co-chair of the Hilton Hotel empire), furious that the McCain ad drew an unflattering comparison between Obama and his own granddaughter.

It seems that the elder Hilton has donated $18,400 to the McCain campaign, and $35,000 to the National Republican Senatorial Committee in the last couple of years. (Paris’s father, Rick Hilton, has given an additional $6,900 to the McCain campaign. Suffice it to say, he’s none too pleased either.)

*snort*

Honestly, are McCain’s staffers even remotely paying attention? 🙄

I look for this ad to disappear, rather quickly, if McCain has any common sense.

John Waver, Former McCain’s Former Strategist calls McCain Ad on Obama "Childish"

This is a bit of a surprise.

Marc Ambinder has the scoop:

With the release today of a McCain television ad blasting Obama for celebrity preening while gas prices rise, and a memo that accuses Obama of putting his own aggrandizement before the country, Weaver said he’s had "enough."

The ad’s premise, he said, is "childish."

"John’s been a celebrity ever since he was shot down," Weaver said. "Whatever that means. And I recall Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush going overseas and all those waving American flags."

Weaver remains in contact with senior McCain strategists and, for a while early this year, regularly talked to McCain.

The strategy of driving up Obama’s negatives "reduces McCain on the stage," Weaver said.

"For McCain to win in such troubled times, he needs to begin telling the American people how he intends to lead us. That McCain exists. He can inspire the country to greatness."

He added: "There is legitimate mockery of a political campaign now, and it isn’t at Obama’s. For McCain’s sake, this tomfoolery needs to stop."

On one hand, his opinion is legit, as I thought the "Celeb" ad was a bit silly. However, i have to wonder if this is just a bad case of sour grapes.

On the other hand, you know your campaign is having issues, when former staff members come out against you.

Barry Quips:

"You know, I don’t pay attention to John McCain’s ads, although I do notice he doesn’t seem to have anything to say very positive about
himself. He seems to only be talking about me. You need to ask John McCain what he’s for and not just what he’s against," he said.

Well Barry, for one, he’s against commie Liberal Marxist Negros like you.

Editorial: Honestly, is this the best that the Liberals can do?

There have been times, when I, as a Blogger, have wanted to bang my head on the desk. There are times, when I have become so frustrated at the level of stupidity being served by both sides of this political discourse, that I have seriously thought about just shutting this Blog down and disappearing into the mists of ether and finding something else to do. There are times, when I, as a Blogger, have shook my fist in righteous indignation at some of the things written by both sides of this political divide, that is called Politics.

However, this, my friends, is scraping the bottom of the proverbial barrel. It seems that the Liberal Blogging world, with it’s lack of substantive accusations against John McCain, has, in fact, began publishing stories about a topic, that normally would not even receive the light of day in a legitimate publication; His Shoes.

That is right ladies and Gentleman; the liberal bloggers are now publishing stories about John McCain’s shoes. This female blogger at the Huffington Post by the name of Isabel Wilkinson, whose political credentials are that of a Dallas cowboy cheerleader, wrote a rather vain piece about the kind of shoes that John McCain wears. I have to honestly wonder aloud, who in the Huffington Post was the recipient of this woman’s oral sex, for her to get that job as a writer. Because whoever they were, they hired a real winner here.

I am not a John McCain cheerleader, not by a long shot. However, this sort of lame attempt by the left to paint John McCain as some sort of out of touch, rich, elitist is about the lamest thing I have ever read, in a good long while. This ranks up there with the New York Times piece on the supposed affair that McCain was having with a lobbyist.

It is not that I am against criticizing John McCain, not at all. There are legitimate concerns that I have with McCain as well, his closeness to Bush, his ties to lobbyists, his wanting to bomb Iran, but to write an article about his shoes? How absurd. The left can much better than this, and they know it. The quicker they start doing that, the better, because right about now, they look like total idiots in my eyes, and I would imagine in the eyes many other people as well.

I post these here, because I believe Chuck Baldwin is a honest voice within the Conservative Community.

Save The Planet? How About Saving The Republic?
By Chuck Baldwin
July 30, 2008

This column is archived at
http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/c2008/cbarchive_20080730.html

Yesterday, the Politico quoted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as saying, "I’m
trying to save the planet; I’m trying to save the planet." She was
responding, of course, to pressure that she and her fellow Democrats are
experiencing to suspend a congressional ban on offshore oil drilling in the
face of skyrocketing energy prices. It would be really wonderful, however,
if the liberal congresswoman could get as energized about saving our once
great republic.

Herein lies another problem: the vast majority of our politicos (from both
major parties) do not even seem to know what kind of country the United
States was designed to be. Virtually every reference made to the United
States by our civil magistrates is that we are a "democracy." That’s odd;
someone should have told our Founding Fathers, because they emphatically
rejected the concept of creating a "democracy" in favor of creating a
constitutional republic.

Has anyone quoted the Pledge of Allegiance lately? Does it say, "And to the
democracy for which it stands"? Or does it say, "And to the republic for
which it stands"? Of course it says "republic."

At the conclusion of the Constitutional Convention, a passerby asked
Benjamin Franklin, "Well, Doctor, what have we got–a republic or monarchy?"
Franklin replied, "A republic–if you can keep it."

Ladies and Gentlemen, that is the sixty-four million dollar question: Can we
keep our republic? Can we keep our constitutional form of government? Can we
keep our constitutionally protected liberties?

In Federalist No. 10, James Madison ("The Father of the U.S. Constitution")
said, "[D]emocracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention;
have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of
property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been
violent in their deaths."

The fear of what happens to freedom and liberty under democratic rule is
what prompted Madison and the rest of America’s founders to labor so hard to
create what they did: a constitutional republic.

Under God, it is allegiance to the Constitution that has preserved our
liberties, our peace and happiness, our security, and our very way of life.
Furthermore, it is the repudiation and rejection of constitutional
government that is responsible for the manner in which these very same
blessings are currently being lost.

Someone needs to remind Rep. Pelosi that it is not her duty (nor does she
have the power) to "save the planet." And by the same token, someone needs
to remind Senators Barack Obama and John McCain that they are not
campaigning to be President of the World, but President of the United
States.

What every elected officeholder is expected and required to do is very
simple: they are required to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution
of the United States of America. Period. End of story.

Our public servants are not charged with saving the snail darter or the
Spotted Owl, or saving the profits of the international bankers, or saving
Wall Street in general, or saving the perks of corporate lobbyists, or
saving Freddie and Fannie, or saving the peoples of the world from all the
bogeymen, or even saving humankind or the planet itself. What our public
servants are charged with, however, is preserving (saving) our
constitutional republic.

Of course, the problem is, the people who are charged with the preservation
of our republic are the ones who are the most responsible for its
destruction. The American people have far more to fear from Nancy Pelosi,
Barack Obama, and John McCain than they do from any foreign adversary,
because our leaders have proven that they have absolutely no fidelity to the
principles of constitutional government. They have no compunction about
eviscerating the protection of our freedoms, or about abolishing the
vanguard of our liberties. They are Machiavellian, making King George of old
look like a mere amateur.

No, I take that back. It is not our civil magistrates who are most
responsible for the destruction of our republican form of government: it is
"We the people."

At the end of the day, it is the responsibility of the people to govern
themselves. We must be willing to hold our civil magistrates accountable to
the contract they made with us, which is to uphold constitutional
government. It is our duty to "throw off" any system of government that does
not secure our liberties and protect our constitution. And this we have not
done.

Christian pastors and ministers have failed us. The "Religious Right" has
failed us. College professors have failed us. High School teachers have
failed us. Newspaper editors and publishers have failed us. TV news anchors
and reporters have failed us. Parents have failed. Friends have failed. The
two major political parties have failed. As a whole, no one is talking
about, or even thinking about, the loss of constitutional government,
national independence, and sovereignty. Few seem even conscious that this is
taking place.

Worrying about which major party wins a general election is like worrying
about whether Coke or Pepsi sold more soft drinks last month. Pick your
poison. One is just as bad as the other. Neither has any fidelity to the
Constitution or to the principles of liberty, which it represents. Both John
McCain and Barack Obama are enemies to constitutional government. Both are
in the process of sacrificing our national sovereignty to global entities.
Both men lied when they took an oath to preserve and protect the
Constitution. So, why should we care which impostor wins the election?

It is up to the American people to enforce constitutional government. From a
Christian perspective, it is "We the people" who are the "powers that be" in
Romans chapter 13. Under our form of government, the source of authority and
the source of legitimacy reside with "We the people." We are not the slaves
of any king or despot. Our elected leaders are public servants, not private
masters. In a nutshell, they work for us. They are contracted to preserve
our liberties and our way of life. When they fail, they must answer to us.

So, when will the American people pick themselves up by the bootstraps and
start acting like free citizens and stop groveling before these imbecilic
political parties? When will we set this political house in order?

Of course, all of this demands that each of us understands constitutional
government and the principles upon which liberty rests. It also demands that
each of us be prepared to do whatever is our personal duty to preserve this
republic.

Patriotism is more than waving a flag on July 4th, or singing The National
Anthem at a ball game, or wearing a flag lapel pin on Flag Day. For an
American, real patriotism means that we are willing to preserve and protect
our constitutional republic. Remember, Franklin’s answer: "A republic–if
you can keep it."

Nancy Pelosi can talk about saving the planet all she wants to: her duty,
however, is to preserve, protect, and defend the U.S. Constitution. And that
is also the job of every single American citizen. Unfortunately, most of us
are no better at doing our job than Pelosi is at doing hers.

Shocka! Obama is beginning to believe his own hype….

This could be dangerous for the Obamassiah….

From the Trail:

In his closed door meeting with House Democrats Tuesday night, presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama delivered a real zinger, according to a witness, suggesting that he was beginning to believe his own hype.

Not surprising at all. With statements like this:

Obama was waxing lyrical about last week’s trip to Europe, when he concluded, according to the meeting attendee, “this is the moment, as Nancy [Pelosi] noted, that the world is waiting for.”

and….

The 200,000 souls who thronged to his speech in Berlin came not just for him, he told the enthralled audience of congressional representatives. “I have become a symbol of the possibility of America returning to our best traditions,” he said, according to the source.

Meh… Oh, he’s a symbol alright, a symbol of Commie Liberalism. He’s also a symbol of the Unconstitutional Civil Right act signed in 1968, by a bunch of Commie Liberals, who felt it was the Government’s place to interfere with a state issue….and we’ve been paying for the tragic mistake, ever since.
