Wow, Just wow.
First up is The Most Incredible Challenge from 1965.
Synopsis: This film, narrated by Luis Van Rooten and directed by Robert Braverman, was produced by the Radio Liberty (RL) Committee, the parent organization of Radio Liberty, to publicize RL in the United States. The film features RLs production center in Munich, its news-gathering operations around the world, and its transmitter facilities in Germany, Spain, and Taiwan.
For the Licensed Amateur Radio operators that happen to read this blog; who also happen to be fans of old “Boat Anchors” as they are called, see if you spot the old Rockwell-Collins and other such gear in this piece. The place to see it really good, is at the 18:14 mark. Some really nice gear there from Amateur Radio’s greatest era. đ
The Second is “This Is Radio Free Europe” from 1964:
Synopsis: This film, narrated by Polish broadcaster Andrzej Kzeczenowicz, gives an overview of Radio Free Europes news-gathering and audience research, its production center in Munich, and its transmission operations in Germany and Portugal. Produced by the Free Europe (RFE) Committee, the parent organization of Radio Free Europe, the film helped publicize RFE in the United States. It thus includes solicitations for contributions to the RFE Fund, successor to the Crusade for Freedom, which helped finance RFE.
Folks, I simply offer these videos with this question: Were these station employees, the political bloggers of that era? Are we now the voices of liberty? I like to think that we are the newspaper writers; the ones encouraging the dissent and the debate. Is Russia of old, just a future picture of America? Those are the questions that we must ask ourselves come 2010.
Remember my follow Americas, dissent is not, not has it ever been unpatriotic. The socialist left calls us racists, tea-baggers, rich people with attitudes; we know the truth and we will not stand by idly and allow a socialist oligarchy defeat us or the Nation and the principles in which it was founded upon. We must fight, not with guns or weapons; this is a battle of ideas and information. The Media, except for perhaps Fox News, is basically carrying water for the establishment. We are the new fifth estate or even possibly the sixth Estate; if there was such a thing. Being in this position of the minority; we must get our collective act together. We need to, as Bloggers and Conservatives, try to stay away from the stupid and the petty. We need to distinguish ourselves from the Alex Jones Conspiracy theory crowd and stick to the mainstream news and offer a counter-view to the main stream media’s view.
I leave you with this Bible verse:
I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. (2 Timothy 4:1-5 King James Version)
and this timeless quote from The Lord Jesus Christ himself:
And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. (John 9:1-5 KJV)
Why would we as Christians, as Conservatives want to be any different?

This is quite the interesting read.
The Money part:
In the following weeks, I was made aware of the fact that ACORN had reopened its New Orleans office (several months after the storm). Various groups from around the city informed me that Acorn was upset with us because we were in âtheirâ community and had not sought approval from ACORN to operate there. I was told that ACORN said that we were âprivileged white people who had come to a Black community as saviors and we refused to work with local Black leadership.â
The more I pondered the matter, the more I realized what was happening. As usual in marginalized and impoverished communities, a small group of radical self-proclaimed leaders was insisting that all local aid and relief came through themâeven if they were AWOL for several months. Though the majority of residents either hadnât heard of ACORN or simply disagreed with their politics- ACORN insisted that they were THE Black leaders. This was upsetting to me. Sure, the local pastor we worked most closely with was Black; but that didnât matter to ACORN. It was as if Pastor Johnson didnât count because he didnât evoke the name of Elijah Mohammed or Malcolm X. It was as if Pastor Johnson didnât count because he didnât submit to ACORNâs mandate that ACORN was the sole leadership of Black New Orleanians.
As then director of Common Ground Reliefâs 9th Ward project, I was warned by many that ACORN would ruin me politically if I didnât submit to their leadership. I believed in what I was doing and how I was doing it. I refused to submit. The political fallout was almost unbearable. I just kept my eyes on meeting the needs of the community. When confronted by adherents to ACORNâs brand of race analysis, I pointed out that ACORN was not there immediately after the storm, so I could not have sought their leadership even if I had wanted to.
Over the following years, that particular style of political attack was prominent in New Orleans. Anytime that ACORN was displeased, the other party was deemed a racist. If the other party disagreed with the label or with ACORNâs agenda- they were met with âof course you feel that way. You are a racist.â Though it is clearly woefully inaccurate and unethical to use such an accusation as a political attack and as a means of shutting down philosophical debate and discourse, some at ACORN didnât let that stop them. I refused to submit to it. I believed in listening to the majority of the community, who were desperate for our help, and not only to the self-proclaimed leaders. I paid a dear price for it.
Wow…. Just wow… No wonder the census bureau cut these people loose. Â My question is this here. Why in the heck were these chuckle-heads involved with the Government, in the first place? I mean, who was the brain-dead fool, who decided that the US Government should be involved with them?
Many questions arise here; and I will bet you that none of them will be answered, until President Obama is safely out of office and living back in Kenya Chicago.
Jane Hamsher, of whom I happen to think is one of the better looking liberals out there —- can be accused of being many things, but a coward is not one of them.
Putting it point blank, the broad has got gonads. Big, Twelve Pound Gonads; For writing something like this right here:
Wow, is that a way to encourage your team or what.
If these groups, if these liberal leaders, let Jones just hang there while Glenn Beck pounds his chest and celebrates the scalp, we have no liberal institutions. What we have are a bunch of neoliberal enablers who have found a nice comfortable place in the DC establishment that they don’t want to jeopardize, a place on the new K-Street gravy train that they don’t want to lose. Dropping Van Jones from their rolodex is a small price to pay.
If there is going to be a serious progressive movement in this country capable of standing up for health care against an industry that spends $1.4 million a day on lobbying, we can’t just look to the members of the Progressive Caucus and say “hey, you, get something done.” They need cover. They need to know that they will be supported. And people like Van Jones who have given their lives to causes we say we value like prison reform and environmental advocacy need to know that they will be defended, and not handed over to Glenn Beck as an acceptable casualty in the battle for K-Street dollars.
So to all you liberal organizations in the “veal pen” — this is your moment of truth. I get all your emails. And the next Common Purpose meeting is probably on Tuesday. If you can’t get it together to at least put out a statement of support for Van Jones and condemn the White House for using him as a sacrificial lamb to right wing extremists that will devour us all if left unchecked, it’s time to add “proudly liberal only when it doesn’t matter” to your logo and be done with it.
Me and Jane Hamsher most likely agree on politics about as much as Marilyn Murray O’Hair and Billy Graham did on the Gospel of Jesus Christ —- But it is quite refreshing to see someone, especially someone within the ranks of liberals, standing up to the beltway crowd and telling it exactly like it is about them.
Another Blogger who’s about as mean and possibly about as damn ugly as I am; Dennis the Peasant weighs in:
Jane sees this in terms of a good, old-fashioned sell-out. I don’t, although I admire her honesty in calling it as she sees it. The bottom line, I think, is this: A couple of months ago Van Jones was cool. Now he’s not.
Let’s face it, every liberal worth his or her salt wants a radical negro friend. You know, the hint of danger and all that… The suggestion that one is risking something and taking a stand. It’s the sort of thing that scores points at cocktail parties.
What Jane’s forgotten is this: It’s important to remember that suburban Marxists are just that… suburbanMarxists. They are never to be relied upon because they are fundamentally unserious. These are people who spend their lives pretending to have a cause. Wanting Van Jones around was never about Van Jones, it was about them.
Van Jones was the political equivalent of a Toyota Prius: You don’t buy a Prius because you’re serious about saving the planet, you buy a Prius because of what you think it will say about you. A Prius gives you permission to feel you’re superior to others without actually having done anything.
So it was with Van Jones. He was in. He was cool. And people wanted to be around him. Not because he’d done good things in prison reform or environmentalism. And certainly not because of their affinity for his politics. No they wanted to be around him because, like that Prius, Van Jones was a liberal fashion statement…
Look at Me! I know a radical negro! Aren’t I cool?
Now Van Jones isn’t cool. He carries baggage that could be embarrassing – or even vaguely threatening – to your average suburban Marxist. So he’s gone… Soon to be replaced with someone – or something – else. Fashion is, after all, fashion. It was never meant to be permanent.
Is it any wonder Van Jones went down without a sound?
See what I mean about the mean and ugly thing? đź Â However, He does have point. Van Jones was a means to an end. Now that he is damaged goods, nobody wants to touch him. But then again, that is how the Democrats have done things like this for years. They use people; Poor people, Black People, Gay people and so on. It’s called pandering for votes. Something liberal Democrats have done for years.
So, Jane, if you happen to read this —- Kudo’s to you. đ From a FORMER Blue Dog/Reagan Democrat turned Conservative. đ
I mean I have seen some serious shit in my my days here on this earth. Me being from Southwest Detroit and all. But this stuff here; takes the farking cake bad!
Check out these videos:
Here’s the first one, Van Jones basically calling George W. Bush a oil crack head….or something. (H/T HotAir)
The basically calling Middle American White kids killers and crazy or something…: (H/T HotAir)
Here he is in some sort of whacked out Music recording accusing White people of just every damn thing under the sun. (H/T HotAir)
Here’s Van Jones glorifying the doctrine of Communism:
Here some more kicker information on this whack job idiot. This dude supported Cop-Killer Death row inmate Mumia Abu Jamal: (H/T HotAir)
More than 150 demonstrators marched from 14th Street and Broadway to the Oakland Federal Building to demand that the Justice Department re-open its corruption investigation of the Philadelphia Police Department.
Supporters of Mumia Abu-Jamal, a death row inmate convicted for the 1981 shooting death of a Philadelphia police officer, said the protest was called after the Supreme Court on Monday rejected claims that Abu-Jamal, a former radio journalist and Black Panther, did not receive a fair trial.
âWe knew there was another event going on, but the timing of the court decision is what dictated when the protest was held,â said Van Jones, a San Francisco civil rights lawyer who helped coordinate the protest march.
Jones said about 15 protesters occupied the rotunda at the Federal Building on Clay Street in an act of civil disobedience with the hope they would be arrested.
Okay, I am just going to say this and if pisses people off; tough. This dude was not vetted, and was basically given this damn job; because he was black. Point.farking.blank. If this dude was white and he had said the moral equivalent, about black people; what this guy said about Whites, This dude would have been out of a job, quicker than a New York minute. Â But, because he is a black man and is in tight with Bambi, he still has a job and still is working for the White House. That is not racist, that my friends, is reality!
So, what does the Socialist left do, when they are beginning to feel the heat, because of Van Jones? They do the oldest trick in the book.
You can see a perfect example of that, by clicking right here. They are now accusing Glenn Beck and the right of assembling a “Lynch Mob” against Van Jones. Go look, it is their words, not mine.
The part that is totally wild is this; Obama has painted himself into quite the corner on this one. Because if Obama cuts this guy loose. The far African-American left is going to turn on him, like a rabid dog. Not to mention the fact, that if Obama and Congress drops the Health-care Bill or passes it without the public option. The far left is really going to turn on him. However, I do not think it will get a chance to pass, because there have already been rumblings that indicate that if the bill has not public option, it will get no support at all. If this happens, Obama’s support among the progressives will erode and I do mean badly.
Either way, this is not going end will for the President. It is going to get much uglier, before it gets any prettier. It like watching a train wreak fixing to happen. You want to look, but you feel horrible about doing so….. and this Amtrak is about to hit the damn wall —- Hard.

That is none other than Democrat Rep. Diane Watson of California. The race-baiting bitch from hell.
Partial Transcript: (H/T Michelle Malkin)
WATSON: You might have heard their philosophical leader. I think his name is Rush Limbaugh. And he said early on, âI hope that he fails.â
Do you know what that means? If the president, your commander-in-chief, fails, America fails.
Now, when a senator says that this will be his Waterloo, and we all know what happened at Waterloo, then we have him and he fails. Do we want a failed state called the United States?
And remember: They are spreading fear and they are trying to see that the first president that looks likes me fails.
Now just understand whatâs at the bottom line.
And you know we just got, 48 hours ago, we just go back, we were in Beijing, China, Hong Kong, China, we were in Taiwan, we were in Guam, we were all over the Far East.
I just want you to know: People look at the United States as a country that has changed its way and has elected someone from Kenya and Kansas, Iâll put it like that.
And theyâre saying, âWe thought you would never do that.â
So we donât want to have this young man, and he just turned 48 â we want him to succeed, because when he succeeds, we regain our status. We regain our status.
It was just mentioned to me by our esteemed speaker, âDid anyone say anything about the Cuban health system?â
And lemme tell ya, before you say âOh, itâs a commuââ, you need to go down there and see what Fidel Castro put in place. And I want you to know, now, you can think whatever you want to about Fidel Castro, but he was one of the brightest leaders I have ever met. [APPLAUSE]
And you know, the Cuban revolution that kicked out the wealthy, Che Guevara did that, and then, after they took over, they went out among the population to find someone who could lead this new nation, and they foundâŠwell, just leave it there (laughs), an attorney by the name of Fidel CastroâŠ

Ugh… Liberals are such ugly cretins.
…..and they said that this President would be post-racial… I call BS!

There is a word that comes to mind to describe this fat turd. But I will not utter it here.
I knew this was coming. I just knew it.
The one the really got me was the exchange of:
Man: “This is America!”
Black Cop: “It ain’t no more, okay?”
Folks, something is seriously wrong...

Rick Perlstein of the Washington Post moans softly:
âIt used to be different. You never heard the late Walter Cronkite taking time on the evening news to âdebunkâ claims that a proposed mental health clinic in Alaska is actually a dumping ground for right-wing critics of the presidentâs program, or giving the people who made those claims time to explain themselves on the air. The media didnât adjudicate the ever-present underbrush of American paranoia as a set of âconservative claimsâ to weigh, horse-race-style, against liberal claims. Back then, a more confident media unequivocally labeled the civic outrage represented by such discourse as âextremistâ â out of bounds.â
Jack Moss of Macsmind answers:
Of course this is selective amnesia that ignores how Cronkiteâs âeditorializingâ of the Vietnam War, calling a victory at Tet a âdefeatâ lead to American withdrawal and the wasted sacrifice of over 50,000.
But more, having vividly lived those times, I never remember the media doing anything other than bolster and praise left-wing outrage. The media of the 60s, as now celebrated left-wing social unrest and demonized right wing opposition. Little has changed.
But just because Americans stood to to the anti-American ideals of Socialism and Communism, didnât make âRight-Wingersâ âradicalâ, it simply showed they were right.
Just look at who is President now.
Quite true. If America had done things right, we would not be in the mess that we were in now. As a personal hero of mine, Trent Lott once said:
"I want to say this about my state: When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We’re proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn’t have had all these problems over all these years, either,"
Nothing more can be added to that. It is the truth; of course, your tenderhearted Conservatives and your race-baiting liberals will object to this statement, but it is the truth. The civil rights act of 1964 was totally unconstitutional. Of which, a personal hero of mine refused to vote for; that being Senator Barry Goldwater. This did cost him the election of that year. The Democrats got their revenge on that vote; during the election the Democrats painted Goldwater as mentally unstable. Which was, and still is, a bunch of baloney. It also began the process of the classic intellectual liberals to the leave the Democratic Party and join the ranks of the Republican Party. That faction of the party became known as the "Neo or New Conservatives". Led by the likes Irving Kristol; The New Conservatives sought to rip control of the Republican Party away from the hands of the "Old Right", which by this time, had become mired in racism and Antisemitism. Some would say that much of this was accomplished by lies and trickery.
Now to address the quote by Trent Lott; I realize that supposed racial aspects of that statement. But to me, it is a broader statement, than just "them Negros are ruining our society!" To me it speaks to an absolute rejection the idea of Multiculturalism and the rejection of diversity. The whole problem with this idiotic idea of celebrating diversity is this; Black Liberals want you and I to be ashamed of being even being white. Even though ninety-nine percent of white people living today, had nothing to do with the acts of slavery that took place in this Country over 300 years ago. Further more, Black Liberals want you to be ashamed of the practice of segregation that took place in the south —- whether you had anything to do with it, or not. They want you to blame yourself. Which is quite idiotic, in this writers opinion.
Not only this, but the Liberal Black Community wants to blame the white race for the problems within their own society. If a black man kills another black man; it is automatically the white mans fault. Why is that? Because the African-American community has never, and will never take direct responsibility for its own actions. They would rather scapegoat the white community for their problems. Why? Two Reasons; it is easier and it gets their political leaders votes. I have written here before that the Democratic Party views the African-American community as the resident "useful idiots"; this is proved by watching any of the many videos floating around of ACORN out doing their bidding, what is the skin color of ninety percent of those workers? You know what I am saying. You never see any of those Limousine latte sipping liberals from New York and California in those videos. You see African-American liberals doing the hard work for them. That is because the African-Americans get the Democratic Party votes. They do this by stirring the pot of racism tension in this Country and fueling the African-American’s sense of entitlement. It gets them the votes. Which is pretty funny consider that most of the people who carried out acts of racial violence in this Country were, in fact Democrats. In fact Alabama Governor George Wallace, who’s quote is quite infamous; was a Democrat.
The point I am trying to make here is this. These modern day Socialist Democrats have short term memory spans. They seem to have forgotten that the very party that are in, are the very ones who oppressed them for years.
Update: A Book that I highly recommend all black liberals read:
ISBN: 1887542183 |
“I will say, then, that I AM NOT NOR HAVE EVER BEEN in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the black and white races—that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with White people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the White and black races which will ever FORBID the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together, there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I, as much as any other man, am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the White race.
“What I would most desire would be the separation of the white and black races.”
“See our present condition—the country engaged in war! Our White men cutting one another’s throats! And then consider what we know to be the truth. But for your race among us there could not be war, although many men engaged on either side do not care for you one way or another.
“Why should the people of your race be colonized, and where? Why should they leave this country? This is, perhaps, the first question for proper consideration. You and we are different races. We have between us a broader difference than exists between almost any other two races. Whether it is right or wrong I need not discuss, but this physical difference is a great disadvantage to us both, as I think your race suffer very greatly, many of them by living among us, while ours suffer from your presence. In a word, we suffer on each side. If this be admitted, it affords a reason at least why we should be separated. It is better for both, therefore, to be separated.”
Remember that Obama in joker makeup poster story that I blogged about? It now seems that the Washington Post has decided that it is racist.
From Washington Post’s Resident Race Baiter:
Between Jack Nicholson’s 1989 portrayal of the Joker in “Batman” and Heath Ledger’s 2008 characterization in “The Dark Knight,” something sinister happened to the villain’s iconic makeup. What had been a mask, with the clearly delineated lines of a carnival character, became simply war paint, and not very well applied.
The visual change signaled a change in the Joker’s inner mechanism. Nicholson’s dandified virtuoso of violence was replaced by a darker, more unpredictable and psychotic figure. What had been a caricature became more real and threatening. An urbane mocker of civilized values became simply a deformed product of urban violence.
[…]
The new Obama poster has two basic thrusts. Obama is a socialist, or a crypto-socialist. And Obama is somehow like the Joker, unpredictable and dangerous. But joining these two messages together yields more questions and contradictions than good poster art can sustain. The Joker is violent and dangerous, but a socialist? And didn’t we see George W. Bush depicted as the Joker not so long ago?
[….]
So why the anonymity? Perhaps because the poster is ultimately a racially charged image. By using the “urban” makeup of the Heath Ledger Joker, instead of the urbane makeup of the Jack Nicholson character, the poster connects Obama to something many of his detractors fear but can’t openly discuss. He is black and he is identified with the inner city, a source of political instability in the 1960s and ’70s, and a lingering bogeyman in political consciousness despite falling crime rates.
[….]
The Joker’s makeup in “Dark Knight” — the latest film in a long franchise that dramatizes fear of the urban world — emphasized the wounded nature of the villain, the sense that he was both a product and source of violence. Although Ledger was white, and the Joker is white, this equation of the wounded and the wounding mirrors basic racial typology in America. Urban blacks — the thinking goes — don’t just live in dangerous neighborhoods, they carry that danger with them like a virus. Scientific studies, which demonstrate the social consequences of living in neighborhoods with high rates of crime, get processed and misinterpreted in the popular unconscious, underscoring the idea. Violence breeds violence.
[….]
Superimpose that idea, through the Joker’s makeup, onto Obama’s face, and you have subtly coded, highly effective racial and political argument. Forget socialism, this poster is another attempt to accomplish an association between Obama and the unpredictable, seeming danger of urban life. It is another effort to establish what failed to jell in the debate about Obama’s association with Chicago radical William Ayers and the controversy over the racially charged sermons of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
Obama, like the Joker and like the racial stereotype of the black man, carries within him an unknowable, volatile and dangerous marker of urban violence, which could erupt at any time. The charge of socialism is secondary to the basic message that Obama can’t be trusted, not because he is a politician, but because he’s black.
Cue the Music!
This is nothing more than classic race hustling or race baiting. To say that the poster depicting Obama as the joker invokes images of racism; is a bit of stretch. It simple implies that we real, true, America-loving citizens do not approve of Obama’s socialistic agenda. Nothing more, nothing less. If anyone gets anything other than this out of it. They are projecting something onto it, that is not there.
Again, this is more of your Post-Racism Racialism that exists within the Democratic Party. It is simply more of that stirring of the pot, that brings more votes to that party. It also most likely is a some sort of interference run; see that Obama’s numbers are lower than Bush’s were during his first few months in office. I mean, point blank; the man has been a damn failure in office and the American people are feeling a bad case of voters remorse and it is showing. Of course some are pointing to some over sampling in the polls and fear a nefarious motive. This could very well be, but I like to think that people are just waking up; and that, my friends, is a good thing.
So, again, this article is nothing more than a lame social Liberal attempt to avert attention away from the important facts about this Administration and to stir up old wounds of a Pre-Post-Racial America. Nice try guys; but real clear thinking Americans are just not buying it.
One WordâŠ. Good.

In the 16-count indictment, Jefferson was charged with soliciting bribes and other crimes for a series of schemes in which he helped American businesses broker deals in West African in exchange for payments or financial considerations to companies controlled by members of his family, including his brother Mose, his wife, Andrea, their five daughters and a son-in-law.
William Jefferson - Shakedown Artist
Jefferson, 62, who represented the New Orleans-based 2nd Congressional District for nine terms, will now face sentencing by Judge T.S. Ellis III, who earlier meted out stiff sentences for lesser figures in the case. According to the U.S. attorney’s office, Jefferson faced 235 years in prison if convicted on all counts, and will still face substantial prison time.
Prosecutors asked that Jefferson be held as a flight risk, but the judge allowed him to remain free pending his sentencing scheduled for Oct. 30. A forfeiture hearing will be held Thursday to decide what assets Jefferson will have to surrender.
The verdict comes four years after the Aug. 3, 2005 raids of Jefferson’s homes in New Orleans and Washington, D.C., in which the FBI found $90,000 in cash hidden in the freezer of his D.C. home, money the government said Jefferson was going to deliver as a bribe to Atiku Abubakar, then vice president of Nigeria, to gain his help with a telecommunications deal in Nigeria being pursued by Lori Mody, a Northern Virginia businesswoman.
The money was the lion’s share of $100,000 in FBI cash that the congressman was videotaped receiving packed in a briefcase days earlier in a suburban Virginia parking lot from Mody, who, beginning in March of 2005, had become a cooperating witness for the FBI, secretly taping her conversations with Jefferson.
The jury did not find him guilty on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, which was the count linked to the money in the freezer.
While Mody did not testify at the trial, the jury heard segments of her taped conversations with Jefferson along with more than six weeks of testimony from government witnesses, including iGate Inc. CEO Vernon Jackson and Mody financial adviser Brett Pfeffer, both of whom are serving time after pleading guilty to their involvement in the bribe schemes, and hoped to see their sentences reduced in exchange for their testimony against Jefferson.
Jefferson did not testify in his own defense and his formal defense lasted only about two hours. In his closing argument, lead defense attorney Robert Trout presented his client as a man whose dealings had placed him in an ethical “gray” area, but who had not broken the law.
I will simply say this; as a non-partisan Conservative blogger who knows full well that there is corruption on both sides of the aisle, I will simply say this. I am very pleased that this man was caught. I only hope now that it does not stop this guy; but rather continues with others that are extremely corrupt up on capital hill.
Exit question: How long till the race baiters like Al Sharpton come out saying that this bust was racially motivated?

Watch and learn. The most important lesson is, “Do not play games with the system.” You will lose every time. Force the game players to come to you, to be honest, moral and independent. The losers in the Cambridge game are pre-determined. They are meant to be the police sergeant who arrested the professor, the entire Cambridge Police Department, and police departments everywhere.
If he continues to play the game, he loses. It is pre-determined.

I would like to applaud President Obama for bringing Sergeant Crowley, me and our families together. I would also like to thank the President for welcoming my father, Henry Louis Gates, Sr., who for most of his life has been a Republican! My dad turned 96 this past June, and the fact that he worked two jobs every day is the reason that my brother, Dr. Paul Gates, and I were able to receive such splendid educations. I am honored that he chose to join me at the White House, along with my fiancée, my daughters, and my brother.
Sergeant Crowley and I, through an accident of time and place, have been cast together, inextricably, as characters â as metaphors, really â in a thousand narratives about race over which he and I have absolutely no control. Narratives about race are as old as the founding of this great Republic itself, but these new ones have unfolded precisely when Americans signaled to the world our countryâs great progress by overcoming centuries of habit and fear, and electing an African American as President. It is incumbent upon Sergeant Crowley and me to utilize the great opportunity that fate has given us to foster greater sympathy among the American public for the daily perils of policing on the one hand, and for the genuine fears of racial profiling on the other hand.
Let me say that I thank God that I live in a country in which police officers put their lives at risk to protect us every day, and, more than ever, Iâve come to understand and appreciate their daily sacrifices on our behalf. Iâm also grateful that we live in a country where freedom of speech is a sacrosanct value and I hope that one day we can get to know each other better, as we began to do at the White House this afternoon over beers with President Obama.
Thank God we live in a country where speech is protected, a country which guarantees and defends my right to speak out when I believe my rights have been violated; a country that protects us from arrest when we do express our views, no matter how unpopular.
And thank God that we have a President who can rise above the fray, bridge age-old differences and transform events such as this into a moment in the evolution of our societyâs attitudes about race and difference. President Obama is a man who understands tolerance and forgiveness, and our country is blessed to have such a leader.
[…]
Having spent my academic career trying to bridge differences and promote understanding among Americans, I can report that it is far more comfortable being the commentator than being commented upon. At this point, I am hopeful that we can all move on, and that this experience will prove an occasion for education, not recrimination. I know that Sergeant Crowley shares this goal. Both of us are eager to go back to work tomorrow. And it turns out that the President just might have a few other things on his plate as well.
via The Root –Â Henry Louis Gates Jr. on his meeting with Sgt. Crowley at the White House..
Great, now can we just please move on to something a bit more important? Like that fact Obama’s Poll numbers are dropping, or the fact that Obama’s HealthCare plan is going down in flames? Or at least something, at bit more substantive?
Because the silly stuff has about me got me great to take vacation from Blogging; Seriously.
At the same time, there may be emotional and practical limits to public patience when confronted with the anti-white vibes of those whom the masses empowered. The public reaction to Obamaâs statements about the police âbehaving stupidlyâ in dealing with Gates made me think that while voters will put up with a leftist black president who pushes quotas, they donât want him to show his true feelings too openly. Obama pushed the envelope, by taking the side of a mouthy race-hustler against an immaculately liberal white policeman and his black fellow-officer. What then happened indicates that some white people are suddenly beginning to wake up to political reality.
D.J. Drummond has written a well written piece on race relations. I agree with the majority of it; However one little part did not resonate with me well at all.
The first requirement for a racial dialogue is mutual respect by and for all parties.
Mr. Drummond, I will start respecting the Negro race, when they stop blaming me and all Anglo-Saxon Americans for the problems in their own communities. Further more, I will start respecting the Negro race when they stop blaming me personally for things that happened before I was even born. Things like Slavery and the racial discrimination in the south.
Further more, I will start respecting the Negro community when they stop with the damn grievance-mongering that goes on constantly; mainly in the Negro Liberal Circles. After all, it was the Republican Party that set them free. But no; the Negro Community was not satisfied with that. They had to have more, so, they were given affirmative action; a program that allowed for the legal discrimination of Anglo-Saxon Americans; commonly known as White People.
It was said, long ago, among those who were opposed to the ending of the slave trade; that “If we give them an inch, they will take a mile.” Something that it very true amongst the Liberals and the Minority crowd. I am afraid that those people were absolutely correct.
Racist you say? No, not hardly. More like a Realist.
Yet it takes a good dose of rationalization to convince oneself that something only racial is âracist.â This may be easy for the left, but for those on the right it probably takes a bit more effort. After all, many liberals are so detached from reality, so solipsistic and relativistic, that they mistake their feelings for Truth. They have the lie on retainer. Conservatives, on the other hand, embrace it only occasionally, as a consultant.
Another difference between the right and left is that we traditionalists know weâre called to be better than that. We know that the Truth will not only set us free and carry the day when the last chapter is written, but that itâs all we have. The lie will never serve us like it does the liars. That is, unless, as they have done, we make it our master.
And the Truth is the point. Whenever we peddle that lie called the race card, we contribute to the mass delusion and lessen the chances that the Truth will be known, all for some momentary political gain. We trade something beautiful for thirty pieces of silver. Liberals make this a practice, and itâs why theyâre contemptible. But, remember, silver is all they have.
As for my friends on the right, for the moment, I could be even madder at you. After all, your trespass is the greater. You forced me to defend Barbara Boxer.
The Video:
A video has surfaced on YouTube of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. delivering a church speech in which he uses the N-word, rails against “racist historically white institutions in America” and accuses Newt Gingrich of attempting to block blacks from entering the middle class.
Gates became a lightning rod of racial controversy when President Obama defended the professor handcuffed in his home last week by police in Cambridge, Mass.
“We are trying to end what we call the one n-gger syndrome â you know, this place ain’t big enough for more than one of us,” said Gates in the video, which was filmed in 1999 in the All Souls Church in Washington, D.C.
via WorldNetDaily: Shock video: Professor Gates goes on N-word rant.
Very interesting. “Racism for me, but not for thee.”
Typical, So very typical for African-Americans and for Liberals. Notice how he goes off on Clarence Thomas?
Update: HotAirPundit has more on the Story:
“Without affirmative action we would have never been able to integrate racist historically white institutions in American society”
“I taught at Duke for one long painful year, I don’t even like the airplane to flyover North Carolina…Because of racism I never would have been allowed to compete with white boys and white girls”

I doubt if most people after watching this would want to go have a beer with him…
This is one of Obama friends. Like Mr. Pundit said here, this guy and Jeremiah Wright most likely were friends. Lord knows, they think much alike. I wonder if President Obama will throw Mr. Gates under the bus too?

Quotes:
ACORN and their new front group Act Now were pwned by Tea Party Patriots again on Long Island!
When they couldnât win their arguments with facts, the ACORN employees tried to intimidate the Tea Party folks. No way that could work with dedicated Patriots! So ACORN cut and run when the going got tough, and repeated that sorry performance twice in one day.
[…]
Iâm no reporter so bear with me. Today I felt the same pride inside me matching the feeling I get whenever I read of our Founding Fathersâ activism. It might sound over exaggerated, but it doesnât change how I feel. Today we scored a victory some may see as trivial, I see as momentous. Either way as a patriot it is overwhelming. Today I witnessed and participated in seeing âgrass-roots folkâ come together in an instant and square off with, as of yesterday, an unchallenged foe in our cause-ACORN. We arrived at King Kullen this morning in Commack and as planned found ACORN petitioners signing up unaware patrons of the shopping center coming and going. They were asking people to sign a petition favoring Obamaâs Health Care plan. We were there to give the other side and people listened.
ACORN produced four âworkersâ we amassed 40 patriots complete with signs, banners, flyers, stickers, posters and a few loud voices.
ACORN 4 â Patriots 40.
I was told they were âworkersâ for the organization We-Can(?) We were the people on the street giving up a beautiful warm Saturday morning to be heard.
I once read that 1 man defending his home is worth 20 paid mercenaries sent to destroy it. Believe it.
ACORN being outnumbered, out voiced and literally out debated left the area in a hurry. We followed.
After receiving communication that they fled to Stop and Shop in Bohemia 40+ patriots showed up and overwhelmed them there too. What a sight. Again ACORN took flight. They didnât know how to react other then demanding we leave. We demanded an equal moment of time to discuss the meat and potatoes of the Obama health Care plan, they refused and retreated. I witnessed many passersby refusing to sign their petition; one even scratched their name off the list after we spoke to them. Almost every person I encountered was interested and I was relieved as almost all agreed with us. There was a little drama when a passerby vehemently argued for the plan, it was contentious but thatâs liberty and democracy at work.
The only news agency seen was a local group from Alternative News based here on LI. The police were on scene, but remained out of the way as we did our own policing and respecting of the peace.
Score this a huge victory. I hope this inspires everyone to get up and get off the side-lines. You want change, than be silent no more! Silence is another form of consent, donât be silent-donât consent.
Known organizations present and represented: Campaign for Liberty, CSA, 9/11 Glenn Beck group, and resistnet.com by me. Others were ordinary people who heard last night and dropped their plans and showed up. What a moment.
Ever notice what color them liberal acorn thugs were?
The reason I bring this up is because real White Liberals are not the ones who will run out into the trenches and do the dirty work. They let their resident useful idiots get out there do the hard work; African-Americans! Sort of a 21 century plantation operation. Why do they do this? Because the Democratic Party, has been using the African-American vote since the 1960’s. To do this, they employ people like Al Sharpton to keep stirring the waters of Racial hatred toward the white people; to somehow convince them that the “White Man” is keeping them down.
You would think that they could have at least come a bit more prepared than this though.
Hope! Change! Intimidation! The Brave New World under the Faux Post Racial President. President Bambi Teleprompter!

I have got to hand it to the Conservative Blogsophere. When they put their minds to it. They can do a kick butt job of dirt digging on people. It is absolutely amazing to me. These guys put the MSM to God-awful shame.
Dan Riehl has the scoop:
Henry Louis Gates, Jr controls a tax-exempt, non-profit charity, Inkwell Foundation, Inc, that managed to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars in direct support in one year, yet only gave out $27,500 in grants, the bulk of which went to Gates’ employees and Harvard colleagues. Also, as recently as September 2008, the Boston Globe reported that Gates’ charity was not in compliance with the law for failing to register the proper paperwork, despite the charity existing since 2005. The charge at the time was that it was “bogus,” as you’ll see below. In fact, the state Attorney General’s office told the Globe the charity was likely either inactive, or dissolved. Yet, documents below show the charity is healthy, wealthy and active.
Is it possible that Henry Louis Gates, Jr. was acting strange when law enforcement showed up at his door because he didn’t want the story below to come out? It may take a tax lawyer to answer that question, but based on this research, it can’t be ruled out. We know the press has questioned Gates about the charity in the past and gotten no response.
There is much more to this story, Please head over to Dan’s Place to read it all.
This would be the ultimate take-down of the century. But I highly doubt that the Feds will do anything. As it is right now; we have a local police Dept being accused of racism. The last thing that Bambi Teleprompter needs is some pissed black man accusing him of using the Government to target him. That would not be a good thing for the Democratic Party. Seeing that they’re already losing on healthcare.
Anyhow, Here’s the roundup of the Blogs on the subject:
Piece of Work in Progress says:
In any case, it’s strange how proggies can be so concerned about their privacy whilst selling out ours to all kinds of intrusive government agencies. I think that Gates should feel fortunate that the cops weren’t asking for his Real ID.
Now that’s funny! :rotfl: Quite true. But very funny. đ
The Confederate Yankee says:
If Obama Justice Department will cover for the New Black Panthers, I’m sure they’ll cover for a personal friend, even if he acted “stupidly.”
PrairiePundit says:
This strikes me as the way liberals support each other and avoid paying taxes. It seems to explain why they feel immune to tax increases.
Robert Stacy McCain Writes:
So, let’s put this together. There was gross, rampant, institutionalized racism at one time in the United States. Since then, we’ve had plenty of people of all ethnic backgrounds arrive in academia and in society who are anointed to preach the evils of the path, and, purportedly, lead us into some shiny, post-racial future.
What Are The Entry Criteria For That Future?
When do we take the police report at face value, and just admit that somebody was disorderly? Because it looks more as though we’ve simply got a priesthood that is going to manufacture the occasional ritual to perpetuate itself, becoming the very thing it set out to despise.
Now for my take on this whole thing. Here is the straight out truth. Mr. Gates, who is black, is trying to start something; because he is black. It is obvious to me, that this whole thing could have been avoided, if Gates would have just had done what he was told, and kept his mouth shut. Had he heeded the Officers instructions, none of this would have ever happened. But instead Gates decided that he was going to try and play the “oppressed negro” card and get himself arrested; all so Mr. Gates could get into the headlines and go to court and make him some easy money.
Since I am known for my controversy; let me remind Mr. Gates of something here. Mr. Gates you are damned lucky that you were not in Alabama and that this is not the 1950’s. Because if it were, the media would most likely be reporting about your dead corpse being found on the side of the road or face down in a river, with a bullet in your head. Which, in all honesty; is most likely were you really belong. You ought to once and a while say a little prayer for the life of privilege that you lead. Because there was a time sir, when the real founders of this Country actually RULED this land and people like you; were taken care of and not in very nice ways. You should think about that, once in a while. Just a thought.
I think that it is a damned shamed that the very people, whom the Republican Party fought long and hard to free from Slavery, are now acting like Tyrants and acting like the entire Anglo-Saxon race owes them a favor. I have to believe that of President Abraham Lincoln would have known this, he would have never bothered with them at all. Sometimes I think it is too bad, that we cannot go back and change that history.
Something troubles me:
A black police officer who was at Henry Louis Gates Jr.’s home when the black Harvard scholar was arrested says he fully supports how his white fellow officer handled the situation.
Sgt. Leon Lashley says Gates was probably tired and surprised when Sgt. James Crowley demanded identification from him as officers investigated a report of a burglary. Lashley says Gates’ reaction to Crowley was “a little bit stranger than it should have been.”
Asked if Gates should have been arrested, Lashley said supported Crowley “100 percent.”
Gates has said he was the victim of racial profiling.
However, watch this video, watch this man’s body language:
Also, since when does being outside; and being loud with a Police officer constitute a reason to be arrested? If the man was no danger to then public or the officers on the scene, then why was he even arrested?
Could it be that the Union threatened this black police officer and told him, that if spoke against the arresting officer, that he would pay for it? Something is fishy. I could be wrong, but still the explanation for his reason for being arrested just does not wash with me, at all. Sorry, but being an insulting ass toward a police officer; is not a valid reason for arrest. Because if that was the case, I would be in jail! :rotfl:
Something just does not add up here. I cannot quite put my finger on it. True, the Harvard guy was being an asshole. But the officer was not one hundred percent right either here.
Thoughts?
The Stupidity Continues:
The Cambridge cop prominent Harvard University professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. claims is a racist gave a dying Reggie Lewis mouth-to-mouth resuscitation in a desperate bid to save the Celtics [team stats] superstarâs life 16 years ago Monday.
âI wasnât working on Reggie Lewis the basketball star. I wasnât working on a black man. I was working on another human
Sgt. James Crowley
being,â Sgt. James Crowley, in an exclusive interview with the Herald, said of the forwardâs fatal heart attack July 27, 1993, at age 27 during an off-season practice at Brandeis University, where Crowley was a campus police officer.
Itâs a date Crowley still can recite by rote – and he still recalls the pain he suffered when people back then questioned whether he had done enough to save the black athlete.
âSome people were saying âThereâs the guy who killed Reggie Lewisâ afterward. I was broken-hearted. I cried for many nights,â he said.
Crowley, 42, said heâs not a racist, despite how some have cast his actions in the Gates case. âThose who know me know Iâm not,â he said.
via Officer in Henry Gates flap tried to save Reggie Lewis – BostonHerald.com.
Here is a perfect example of the anti-police leftists in our Country. (Kinda like the Anti-police, Anti-Military Libertarians and so-called Conservatives, that like to come to this Blog… they’re all related)
It is quite obvious to anyone, that has an ounce of a brain; that Mr Gates was clearly trying to provoke a situation, that clearly would have never happened, had Mr. Gates just kept his mouth shut and did what the police officer told him to do. It is also quite obvious that Gates is trying to turn a non-racial situation into a racial situation.
Mr. Gates provoked this situation; because he was black, Mr. Gates is one of the radical liberal Harvard professors who, like our now President, want to have a black ran, owned and operated United States. Who wants white men, like me, to cower in fear of the black man, because the sins of White men over 300 years ago in this country. “Social Justice” they call it. I call it radical black nationalism. The Punishment of white men everywhere for previous sins of their forefathers.
I have on this blog, since its inception fought against this sort of radical liberal black nationalism and the satanic mindset of collectivism that is now on the path to ruining our country. I will continue to do so. The Liberal blacks can call me racist all they like, I do not care. But this sort of nonsense will not go unchallenged by this writer.
Of course, this sort of Race Baiting and black entitlement is what has kept, and will continue to keep the Democrat Party in power. It has since around 1968 and continues to do so, to this very day.
Update: AllahPundit over at HotAir points out that this said officer, was picked to be an expert of racial profiling, by a black police commissioner. Heh… Nuance Indeed. Something tells me, that this guy Gates is going to get a nice phone call from this local Democratic leadership and get told to basically STFU and disappear. Because if this guys union is backing him up, the last thing the Democrats need is some asshole liberal trying to cause problems with the local caucus.

I was born the wrong color. đ
If this guy was white, he would still be in a jail cell. Point blank.
Thank you Abraham Lincoln for ruining America. :pissedoff:
I knew that this would happen, if he were elected. Sorry to say; but it appears that I was absolutely correct.
Money Quote:
What we celebrate tonight is not simply the journey the NAACP has traveled, but the journey that we, as Americans, have traveled over the past one hundred years ….
And yet, even as we celebrate the remarkable achievements of the past one hundred years; even as we inherit extraordinary progress that cannot be denied; even as we marvel at the courage and determination of so many plain folks – we know that too many barriers still remain.
We know that even as our economic crisis batters Americans of all races, African
Americans are out of work more than just about anyone else – a gap that’s widening here in New York City, as detailed in a report this week by Comptroller Bill Thompson.
We know that even as spiraling health care costs crush families of all races, African Americans are more likely to suffer from a host of diseases but less likely to own health insurance than just about anyone else.
We know that even as we imprison more people of all races than any nation in the world, an African-American child is roughly five times as likely as a white child to see the inside of a jail.
And we know that even as the scourge of HIV/AIDS devastates nations abroad, particularly in Africa, it is devastating the African-American community here at home with disproportionate force.
These are some of the barriers of our time. They’re very different from the barriers faced by earlier generations. They’re very different from the ones faced when fire hoses and dogs were being turned on young marchers; when Charles Hamilton Houston and a group of young Howard lawyers were dismantling segregation.
But what is required to overcome today’s barriers is the same as was needed then. The same commitment. The same sense of urgency. The same sense of sacrifice. The same willingness to do our part for ourselves and one another that has always defined America at its best.
The question, then, is where do we direct our efforts? What steps do we take to overcome these barriers? How do we move forward in the next one hundred years?
The first thing we need to do is make real the words of your charter and eradicate prejudice, bigotry, and discrimination among citizens of the United States. I understand there may be a temptation among some to think that discrimination is no longer a
problem in 2009. And I believe that overall, there’s probably never been less discrimination in America than there is today.
But make no mistake: the pain of discrimination is still felt in America. By African-American women paid less for doing the same work as colleagues of a different color and gender. By Latinos made to feel unwelcome in their own country. By Muslim Americans viewed with suspicion for simply kneeling down to pray. By our gay brothers and sisters, still taunted, still attacked, still denied their rights.
On the 45th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act, discrimination must not stand. Not on account of color or gender; how you worship or who you love. Prejudice has no place in the United States of America.
Rough translation? “Waaaaah! Them mean assed honkeys treated us really really mean over 300 years ago! Waaaah! Them mean ol’ Crackas treated us bad in the south before 1964! Waah Waah Waah!

But this is totally disgusting:
Some of my fellow Conservatives are loving it. I personally found it to be most offensive and quite childish. The man was being outmaneuvered and instead of trying to argue the point; he chose to play the race card. How convenient. :pissedoff:

The Synopsis of this video:
This is a video of David Wood and Nabeel Qureshi asking questions at Arabfest, Dearborn. The date is June 21st, 2009. There was a booth at the festival which had a banner titled “Islam: Got Questions? Get Answers.” From their table, we picked up a pamphlet claiming that Islam promotes peace. We noticed that it was full of poor logic and errors, so we decided to make a video refuting it. We went to the booth that gave us the pamphlet to give them the opportunity to defend their claims. Security, however, stepped in and forced us to turn off our camera.
We left the booth, received advice from police, and found out that the actions of the security guards were illegal. We went back to the booth to record a potential answer again. Realizing that the Muslims present had no answer, we left.
When we came outside, we were asked some questions by two young men, who had been sent by security to entrap us. While we responded to them, festival security started assaulting us, as you will see in this video. The conclusion of this video is a mob of festival security attacking our cameras, pushing us back, kicking our legs, and lying to the police.
We ask you, is it a coincidence that the city with the highest percentage of Muslims in the United States is the city where Christianity is not allowed to be represented (let alone preached) on a public sidewalk? Is it coincidence that in this city, people will say “No way!” when we say “This is the United States of America”?
Is this what will happen when Islam takes over the United States?
You see Ladies and Gents, THIS is what celebrating diversity does to you. It gets you attacked by Islamic terrorist THUGS! Rick Warren and his purpose driven life, “Let’s love everyone and not judge”, kind of Christianity is just that; it celebrates diversity. Islam, a religion of peace….. What a lie! đĄ This is why, if I ever was going to film, I would go armed. Any security person who approached me and tried to hurt me, would be killed.
