The daughter of the man who carried out a suicide plane attack against the IRS in Texas said today she considered her father a hero for standing up to “the system,” although she later back away from that statement.
Joe Stack’s daughter says father’s act was “inappropriate” but understandable.“His last actions, the suicide, the catastrophe that caused injuries and death, that was wrong,” Samantha Bell, Stack’s daughter from his first marriage, told “Good Morning America” in a morning television exclusive telephone interview that aired today. “But if nobody comes out and speaks up on behalf of injustice, then nothing will ever be accomplished. But I do not agree with his last action with what he did. But I do agree about the government.”
When “Good Morning America” asked if she considered her father a “hero,” Bell, 38, said, “Yes, because now maybe people will listen.” Bell later called “Good Morning America” to retract her statement and say unequivocally that her father was “not a hero.”
Rather, she said the only hero involved in the attack was its victim, Vietnam veteran Vernon Hunter, the only person besides Stack killed in the attack.
“I don’t want to hurt anybody,” Bell said. “We are mourning for Vernon Hunter.”

State Delegate Bob Marshall of Manassas says disabled children are God's punishment to women who have aborted their first pregnancy.
He made that statement Thursday at a press conference to oppose state funding for Planned Parenthood.
“The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion with handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the first born of any, nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children,” said Marshall, a Republican.

It is one of the biggest annual gatherings of conservatives in Washington. The yearly CPAC convention hosts everyone from Sen. Scott Brown to Mitt Romney. Even former Vice-President Dick Cheney made a surprise appearance today.
The crowd was full of frustration towards President Obama and his administration, and the words âTea Partyâ seemed to be flying out of every Republicanâs mouth. One big agenda item for the Republicans? Galvanizing the youth vote.
And one of the people leading the youth charge is Stephen Baldwin. One of the famous Baldwin brothers, Baldwin hosts a conservative radio show and has enlisted himself in the youth recruitment effort. Baldwin told our Jonathan Karl that he blames Obama for the state of the country, but also prays for him.
âI am not happy about the way things are. I pray for President Obama every single day. But tell you what. Homey made this bed, now he has got to lay in it,â said Baldwin.
Uh…. Um, I should have this under this heading here. But, I figured it could stand on its own. I mean, Homey? I think you can now guess why I did not attend CPAC. I mean, I am all for the defending of the Constitution, limited Government, and the defense of the Christian Faith. But what I am not for, is going to some Convention; where a bunch of wealthy and some not-so wealthy white people; sit around and bitch about the evil black socialist President. I give them credit, some of them nuance the racism, and do it very well; but most do not, and some do not even nuance it at all. This is one of worst examples of nuanced racism ever. Nothing says I have a problem with the black race better, than a pasty white guy calling a black man,”Homey”, much less the President of the United States, who just happens to be black.
I will be honest with you, I do not like President Obama’s politics whatsoever. But I do respect the office. This is why you do not see me writing about stupid kooky conspiracy theories on here. I’ve done it in the past and got burned hardcore; after that I said that until the birthers can provide me some solid proof that Obama was not born here, other than the opinions or half-baked claims of some attention-whoring, black-hating, harpy Jew with an attitude; I just will not write about it anymore, period. Anyhow, Orly Taitz aside; that is why I do not write about the nonsense. Because I respect the man’s office. Some cannot; but I can and do try to. That does not mean he is above criticism, because you know that I do that well. Although here as of late, he is scoring some brownie points with me on the Afghanistan war.
Anyhow, it just irked me, because both of these guys, especially the bug-eyed jack ass in the middle are supposedly Christians —- Evangelical Christians no less. But yet, they make idiotic statements like this. You know see why I left the Evangelical circles for good. Because of ignorant crap like this. Which is, incidentally, forbidden by the Bible.
I have said this in the past and I will say it again. If the Republican Party thinks that embracing this sort of nuanced racism is going to do anything for them in the coming elections in 2010 and 2012, they had better think again. Because I will warn them; the American people are just much too smart for that and they will suffer in the coming elections. because I will tell you, that I WILL NOT VOTE for a party that embraces this sort of anti-black, nuanced racism. I will vote libertarian; I did it once and I will do it again. It is seriously time to get real folks, and this is not doing that at all.

UPDATED – In defense of the ‘OddBall’
First off, let me say that what happened at the University of Alabama was a horrible tragedy. This is why I have avoided blogging about this topic; as I did not want to be accused of politicizing the whole thing. I personally do not care what the woman’s politics were, the fact is that this woman ended up killing three people, people who were Husbands, Fathers, and friends to many. That, I feel, does transcend politics, and because of that, I basically shunned the subject.
However, I do feel the need to address one thing here. There is this story in the Boston Herald:
As authorities searched for clues into what could have sent a University of Alabama neurobiology professor on an alleged killing spree, friends and family yesterday described Braintree native Amy Bishop as an awkward introvert on the brink of losing her teaching job.
Bishopâs husband, James Anderson, told the Herald his wife had been fighting the university for over a year about a tenure denial, and several months ago received a final decision. She was upset, but not overly emotional, approaching her appeal âlike a game of chess,â he said.
Police in Huntsville, Ala., charged Bishop, 44, with capital murder after she allegedly opened fire on six colleagues at a faculty meeting Friday, killing three. Afterward, she calmly called her husband and asked him to pick her up as if nothing had happened, said police Chief Henry Reyes.
âShe was an oddball – just not very sociable,â said Sylvia Fluckiger, a former lab technician who worked with Bishop in 1993.
What bothers me is this; there is a narrative being played up here. That this woman was an ‘Oddball’. As someone who has been labeled an ‘Oddball’ in my lifetime. I find this to be very disconcerting. Yes, I have my quirks; I like to think of myself as a bit eccentric, but I am not a murderer. What this woman did was a act of a deranged killer and not just some overly educated ‘oddball’ eccentric. There is a difference, and I wish that the media would please point out that difference.
First it was people that were loners, and very quiet and kept to themselves. Now, they are going with the ‘Oddball’ characterization. Why is it that the police and other said authorities just cannot be content with just explaining that the woman was a cold-blooded killer and stop the personality characterizations? It is quite disgusting and it is totally unfair to those of us, who might to possess those qualities and may just be normal average people, who are not looking to inflict any sort of harm on anyone.

Melanie was a small business owner from Missouri battling stage four breast cancer, who also had to fight with insurance companies who didn’t want to pay for her treatment. She didn’t take that lying downâshe spoke out, she protested, she became a leader in the movement for a more just health care system. Maybe you remember the video thank-you she sent to you and other TrueMajority members last October for being part of that movement.1
The cancer took Melanie’s life last week. To her family, we can only express our deepest regret and sympathy. If you’d like to send your sympathy as well, you can sign our guest book, and we’ll deliver your messages to the family this weekend.

Stupid Move – Sarah Palin Endorses Rand Paul
In a very stupid move, Sarah Palin has endorsed Rand Paul.
Now why do I say this is a stupid move? It is because last month, I reported here on this blog, and I will point out, I was the ONLY Conservative blog that reported this as well; that Rand Paul’s former Campaign spokesman suddenly resigned, because of racist content on a myspace page, which he claimed was not his. (yeah right… đ )
Further more, I have reported on Ron Paul’s various exploits when it comes to racism, and it appears that the apple does not fall far from the tree. If Sarah Palin lends her voice to this sort of outlandish racism and Antisemitism of the Paleo-Conservative right, she will be, in my opinion discredited beyond what she already is among most of the Washington crowd.
Of course, this comes as no surprise to me, seeing she is speaking at a so-called “Tea Party gathering” in Nashville, Tn. Which is being hosted by person, who has been outed as a outright crook by those who broke away from his “Tea Parry Nation” group, after figuring out, that he was nothing more than an opportunist.
While I believe that Sarah Palin’s star power amongst the Conservative grass roots is something to be admired; endorsing Rand Paul is akin to President Obama doing lunch of Adolf Hitler and should be treated as such by the GOP and anyone else that wants to see the Republican Party come back to power in 2010 and 2012. I do not know who is giving Sarah Palin advice, but I believe they had better think twice about endorsing Rand Paul. Because if that is what this new “Tea Party” movement and/or new Conservative movement is about, I want nothing to do with it. As much as I detest Identity Politics; I also detest true racism, and Antisemitism, of which Ron Paul and also now Rand Paul are associated with — The GOP, Sarah Palin and the Conservative grass roots, would do well to avoid Rand Paul and the utter filth that he and his father represent.
Bottom Line: Someone in Palin’s camp blew it and blew it bad.

This week the US Senate is debating whether to raise the national debt ceiling by $1.9 trillion, totaling a whopping $14.3 trillion, which is about the same size as the nationâs overall economy. Some estimate the cost of national healthcare would be in the ballpark of $1 trillion. The initial relief donation to Haiti by the US government was a relatively measly $100 million while the cost of the Iraq war alone has been estimated at $3 trillion dollars. Regardless, our government, and the debt to maintain it, keeps growing astronomically.
The old fashioned, biblical concept of charity is that it begins at home, and once a man has taken care of his family, property and immediate surroundings he can then afford to address greater concerns. Increasingly and sometimes tragically, America can no longer afford to address greater concernsânot that affordability will prevent our government from continuing to do so. The conservativeâs task should be to prevent it from doing so, or âlimitingâ governmentâand not promoting its unlimited use at home or abroad, and certainly not to save the world.
For once; I actually agree with Jack Hunter. I am very glad that he spoke out on this. I mean, we’re fighting wars and our economy is in the toilet. But yet, we are sending millions of dollars into a Country that is so damn corrupt that they cannot even feed their own people? Give me a break. We need to deal with our own and stop trying to be the World’s rescue dog. It is not like those people even appreciate what we are even doing there. Because we have already been accused of occupying the Country.
Bottom Line:Â Jack Hunter is correct, Let private industry deal with that problem in Haiti and stop using the United States Government to deal every little situation that comes up.

Course Change: White House Orders New Location for 9/11 Mastermind Trial

The White House ordered the Justice Department Thursday night to consider other places to try the 9/11 terror suspects after a wave of opposition to holding the trial in lower Manhattan.
The dramatic turnabout came hours after Mayor Bloomberg said he would “prefer that they did it elsewhere” and then spoke to Attorney General Eric Holder.
“It would be an inconvenience at the least, and probably that’s too mild a word for people that live in the neighborhood and businesses in the neighborhood,” Bloomberg told reporters.
“There are places that would be less expensive for the taxpayers and less disruptive for New York City.”

Alleging a plot to wiretap Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu’s office in the Hale Boggs Federal Building in downtown New Orleans, the FBI arrested four people Monday, including James O’Keefe, a conservative filmmaker whose undercover videos at ACORN field offices severely damaged the advocacy group’s credibility.
Also arrested were Joseph Basel, Stan Dai and Robert Flanagan, all 24. Flanagan is the son of William Flanagan, who is the acting U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Louisiana, the office confirmed. All four were charged with entering federal property under false pretenses with the intent of committing a felony.
According to the FBI affidavit, Flanagan and Basel entered the federal building at 500 Poydras Street about 11 a.m. Monday, dressed as telephone company employees, wearing jeans, fluorescent green vests, tool belts, and hard hats. When they arrived at Landrieu’s 10th floor office, O’Keefe was already in the office and had told a staffer he was waiting for someone to arrive.
When Flanagan and Basel entered the office, they told the staffer they were there to fix phone problems. At that time, the staffer, referred to only as Witness 1 in the affadavit, observed O’Keefe positioning his cell phone in his hand to videotape the operation. O’Keefe later admitted to agents that he recorded the event.
After being asked, the staffer gave Basel access to the main phone at the reception desk. The staffer told investigators that Basel manipulated the handset. He also tried to call the main office phone using his cell phone, and said the main line wasn’t working. Flanagan did the same.
They then told the staffer they needed to perform repair work on the main phone system and asked where the telephone closet was located. The staffer showed the men to the main General Services Administration office on the 10th floor, and both went in. There, a GSA employee asked for the men’s credentials, after which they stated they left them in their vehicle.
The U.S. Marshal’s Service apprehended all four men shortly thereafter.

Four Men Arrested for Entering Government Property Under False Pretenses for the Purpose of Committing a Felony
NEW ORLEANSâJOSEPH BASEL, age 24; ROBERT FLANAGAN, age 24; JAMES OâKEEFE, age 25; and STAN DAI, age 24, were charged in a criminal complaint with entering federal property under false pretenses for the purpose of committing a felony, announced the United States Attorneyâs Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
According to the complaint, which was unsealed earlier today, the arrest of FLANAGAN, BASEL, OâKEEFE, and DAI took place after BASEL and OâKEEFE attempted to gain access to the New Orleans office of United States Senator Mary Landrieu on January 25, 2010, while posing as telephone repairmen. According to the complaint, FLANAGAN and BASEL were each dressed in blue denim pants, blue work shirts, light green fluorescent vests, tool belts, and construction-style hard hats when they entered the Hale Boggs Federal Building, located at 500 Poydras Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130. Once in the building, FLANAGAN and BASEL sought access to the offices of Senator Landrieu. OâKEEFE was already present in the office, holding a cellular phone so as to record FLANAGAN and BASEL. Once inside Senator Landrieuâs reception area, FLANAGAN and BASEL told a member of Senator Landrieuâs staff that they were telephone repairmen, and they requested access to the main telephone at the reception desk. FLANAGAN and BASEL then manipulated the telephone system. FLANAGAN and BASEL next requested access to the telephone closet because they needed to perform work on the main telephone system. They were directed to the main office of the United States General Services Administration, also inside the Hale Boggs Federal Building, where they again represented themselves to be employees of the telephone company and stated that they needed to perform repair work in the telephone closet. Both FLANAGAN and BASEL stated that they had left their credentials in their vehicle. In addition, the complaint alleges that OâKEEFE and DAI assisted FLANAGAN and BASEL in the planning, coordination, and preparation of the operation. The men were apprehended by the United States Marshalâs Service soon thereafter.
If convicted, FLANAGAN, BASEL, OâKEEFE, and DAI each face a maximum term of 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, and three (3) years of supervised release following any term of imprisonment.
The United States Attorneyâs Office reiterated that the complaint is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
The investigation is being conducted by Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Deputy Marshals with the United States Marshalâs Service. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jordan Ginsberg.

I guess this is what happens, when I try to be civil to people. A few days ago, I wrote about a video that I happened to see over on HotAir.com, it was about Ron Paul and him yowling on about how evil the C.I.A and how they were co-opting the Military.  It was, if felt, a very stupid and borderline Alex Jones sounding nonsense.
Not entirely surprising, some of Ronnie Paulâs little sock puppets and mindless stooges came over to make their inane arguments about how wrong I was, and have horribly evil the Government is and so forth. At first, I thought about deleting them, but I figured I would be a little charitable and let them have their say, I also notified a friend of mine, who one of the commenters slandered, my friend said he was not too worried about what this person said, and so, I decided I would try to engage these people.
This proved to be a foolish mistake, because right now, sitting on one a man’s blog, who calls himself, âThe Fat Libertarian.â Whoâs actually name is Robert Timsah, and who lives at [snipped]-— on his blog, which I will never link to, is a video of him discussing my responses to his idiotic feelings about me, Republicans; of which I am not affiliated with, or Neo-Cons, which I am not — mainly because I am not Jewish. With the Ron Paul people, as with the Liberal Left, Neo-Con is code word for some sort of Jewish cabal. Anyhow, this video was shot without my consent, approval, or even knowledge. Which could be grounds for a major lawsuit, should I desire to pursue this in a court of law.
In any event, I removed the discussion with this man and his libertarian sock puppets, because I was essentially set up. Therefore, here is my message to the Ron Paul-ites who read this blog:

I am the nicest person you would ever want to meet, rarely am I a âHard Assâ about anything. However, when I decide to give someone a chance and that person abuses that chance, I stop being a nice person. Since one of the Ron Paul idiots decided that deceiving me and filming contents of my blog, without my authorization would be cute, I have decided stop Ron Paulâs fans from having any say on my blog, ever again. I am all for freedom of speech, but when those who believe in freedom of speech decide to engage in deception, that freedom stops with me.
As for the video, I reported it to youtube, hopefully, they pull it, as my rights were violated here, in a big way. I may also pursue this in a court of law. I do have an attorney friend of mine, who owes me a big favor. I did some web consulting work for him once, and he told me, if I ever had a legal problem to call him. I might check with him on Monday.
So, to the Ron Paul people, consider yourselves persona non gratia around these parts.
Update: This “Fat Libertarian” was kind enough to remove the video, so, I removed his address. But my feelings about these people remain unabated.

Liberal radio network Air America has gone bankrupt and will cease live programming, the company told employees today.
“The very difficult economic environment has had a significant impact on Air America's business. This past year has seen a “perfect storm” in the media industry generally,” Charlie Kireker, chair of Air America Media, wrote in a letter to employees.
Air America was founded in 2004 as a liberal response to conservative dominance of the radio airwaves. In five years it has served as a platform for a number of liberal talkers that have moved on to prominence, including now-Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) and MSNBC host Rachel Maddow.
The network will air re-run programs until January 25th, at which time all programming will end.
