Um, *Cough* Wow

There is nothing like a nice blog fight….and for once, I am not involved! 😀 😛 😉 😆 😯

You can read it here, here, here, here, and here.

Hilarious quote of the day:

(Permit me a moment to bask in the glory: When I decide to stir the pot, I by God stir the pot, don’t I?)

No shit Sherlock. You keep that crap up and the only person that will ever link to you, will be me! 😛

I mean, McCain may as well have said, that the only good place for Sarah Palin and women in general; are on their knees and on their backs! He would most likely gotten the same reaction too! 🙄 Jeez.

I might critize the Neo-Con right, and yes, that does include the Zionist crowd. But even I won’t go there on Feminism; at least not very loudly! Because I have found in my blogging experience, that talking and criticizing that subject; is like stepping on a landmine. It will always blow up in your face and it always ends up being messy as hell.

I feel about Feminism, like I do about the Homo crowd; if those chicks wanna do the bloody tampon dance; by all means, let ’em do it. As long as they don’t get any on me. Let ’em be. I always say. You will have less headaches, and obviously piss less people off.

……and if there is anyone that knows all about having the world pissed at you; it’s me. Trust me. I know. 😯

Five members of the so-called Alaska “sovereign citizen movement” Arrested for plotting to Kidnap and/or kill Alaska State troopers and Judges

Glad to see the federal authorities on top stuff like this:

Five people in the Fairbanks area were arrested Thursday by state and federal law enforcement on charges connected with an alleged plot to kidnap or kill state troopers and a Fairbanks judge, according to the Alaska State Troopers.

Francis “Schaeffer” Cox, Lonnie Vernon, Karen Vernon, Coleman Barney and Michael Anderson are accused of conspiring to commit murder, kidnapping, and arson, as well as weapons misconduct, hindering prosecution and tampering with evidence, according to trooper spokeswoman Megan Peters in a written statement late Thursday.

An investigation “revealed extensive plans to kidnap or kill Alaska state troopers and a Fairbanks judge,” the statement said. The plans included “extensive surveillance” on the homes of two Fairbanks troopers, the statement said.

“Investigation also revealed that extensive surveillance on troopers in the Fairbanks area had occurred, specifically on the locations of the homes for two Alaska state troopers,” the statement said. “Furthermore, Cox et. al. had acquired a large cache of weapons in order to carry out attacks against their targeted victims. Some of the weapons known to be in the cache are prohibited by state or federal law.”

U.S. Attorney Karen Loeffler said Lonnie Vernon, 55, was arrested for threatening to kill a federal judge. She said more information about federal charges would be released today Fairbanks Police Chief Loren Zager said the operation involved multiple police actions related to Fairbanks-area members of the “sovereign citizen” movement.

The operation was complete by evening, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Anchorage.

As I have said before twice on this blog; Terrorism is Terrorism — no matter who is doing it, or in what name it is being done. Here is hoping that they throw the book at these idiots. Personally, I have had not much good to say about the whole Militia thing; especially here in Michigan. I have hung around with some of these guys in the past. Most of them come off as wanna-be hero’s with guns. The problem is, that 90% of more of them; are ate up with this whole mentality that the Government is out get them or something similar. This increased after the election of the nation’s first black President.

I know Lew Rockwell and his friends won’t be happy about this; but sometimes, I think the Government is right to stop people like this, especially if they are planning to kill people.

Although, I will say this; the left is trying to paint this as a “Right Wing” problem. I’ve met and spoken with some of these people, and most of them, could give two flips about politics; their thing is that they want to be free and they actually believe that the difference between the parties is a joke. So, I think the left needs to get off that the “right wing problem” crap. Because you’ll find that most people, like some libertarians; reject the notion of left versus right. Myself personally, I do believe that the Left versus Right idea is very legitimate. However, you will not see me running with a gun and being stupid! That is because I still believe that we have a system of redress of grievances — it is called the ballot box. The American people used this process to send a message to the Republican Party, no more business as usual! Believe it or not, they heard it, loud and clear!  People that do, what these people have done; have lost all faith in their countries political process. Not mention they’ve lost all touch with reality.

The only thing that I can say is this; in a free, Constitutional Republic, these type of people and things happen. The only way to stop them, is to lose that freedom; and that my friends, is the complete modus operandi of the liberal left in this Country.

More News on Japan

Continuing from last night.

Remember that picture that I posted of that massive explosion?

Here’s the video: (H/T HotAir)

Via the U.K Telegraph shows a huge whirlpool:

This man talks about the experience:

Check out this crazy photo to get an idea just bad this was.

Fox News is now reporting:

Japanese police say 200 to 300 bodies have been found in a northeastern coastal area where a massive earthquake spawned a ferocious tsunami Friday that swept away boats, cars and homes.

The magnitude 8.9 offshore quake — the largest in Japan’s history — unleashed a 23-foot (7-meter) tsunami and was followed by more than 50 aftershocks for hours, many of them of more than magnitude 6.0.

The bodies found were in Sendai city, the closest major city to the epicenter, Japanese police said. Earlier, police confirmed at least 60 people had been killed and 56 were missing. The death toll was likely to continue climbing given the scale of Friday’s disaster.

Tsunami waves generated by the massive quake hit Hawaii early Friday morning. The first waves crashed into the island of Kauai at 3:13 a.m. local time. Officials predicted they would experience waves up to 6 feet (2 meters).

Alaska Emergency Management also reported a 5.1-foot wave at Shemya, 1.5-foot at Adak, and 1.6-foot at Dutch Harbor in the Aleutian Islands. Shemya is 1,200 miles southwest of Anchorage.

If you are reading this blog; and you happen to be in the area that these waves are expected to hit. GET THE HECK OUT OF THAT AREA NOW! Nothing is worth your life, nothing.

Then, there’s this:

TOKYO — Japan ordered thousands of residents near a northeastern nuclear power plant to evacuate on Friday following a massive earthquake that caused a problem in the plant’s cooling system.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said the Fukushima No. 1 power plant was not leaking radiation. The plant is in Onahama city, about 170 miles (270 kilometers) northeast of Tokyo.

Japan’s nuclear safety agency said the evacuation, ordered by the local government of Fukushima, affects at least 2,800 people. It comes after the government declared a state of emergency at the plant.

The quake triggered a power outage and when a backup generator also failed, the cooling system was unable to supply water to cool the reactor. The reactor core remains hot even after a shutdown.

Edano said residents were told to stay at least two miles (three kilometers) from the plant and to stay inside buildings.

and this:

TOKYO — A Japanese coast guard official says a search is under way for a ship carrying 80 dock workers that was swept away when a tsunami struck the northeastern coast.

The vessel was washed away from a shipbuilding site in Miyagi prefecture (state). That’s the area most affected by a massive offshore earthquake on Friday. The quake triggered the tsunami.

Needless to day, this is not going to be a good day in Japan.

Quote of the day

Here’s what these idiot Madison “protesters” — along with their intellectually bankrupt fellow travelers playing Solidarno?? on fucking facebook as if this is just another cause celebre the world has ginned up to keep hipsters feeling “political” — are actively, vocally agitating FOR: no school choice for kids; no merit pay for teachers; seniority raises, and a first hired / last fired policy that promotes mediocrity, disinterest, and underperformance, while providing no incentive for effective teaching; forced union dues; forced political contributions to the Democrat party, made possible by a tawdry money laundering scheme that in many ways works to disenfranchise Republican voters in the union; the inability of tax payers to have any say over local schools; and on and on and on.

I mean, this is what we’ve come to as a nation: form over substance as a fucking installation art form. The pollutant of “progressive” thinking has here culminated in a surreal civic moment, one in which the idealized cultural sexiness of the 60s, and a desire to re-live it, has given us the spectacle of university students chanting in favor of bigger government, less choice, fewer freedoms, and a total subsuming of the individual into an dictatorial, top-down collective. Like a hive of buzzing drones, these people are now actively swarming in hopes of bringing on the deconstruction of their country’s founding ideals by way of agitating for a neutered collective ruled by a top-down union leadership structure, one that splits the profits with the Democrat party while the private sector taxpayer gets higher property taxes to go with the dwindling opportunity available outside the government ranks.

And they pretend to be for the “working man”!

Not only that, but the scorching scorching irony of the chants of “this is what democracy looks like” coming from these useful idiots is likewise blazingly surreal: because what representative democracy actually looks like happened in November, and would have happened again in Madison had the Dems not FLED THE FUCKING STATE TO AVOID PARTICIPATING IN THE DEMOCRATIC PROCESS.

Which means that to these “protesters,” “democracy” boils down to “I must always win, or else it isn’t really legitimate democracy.”

Sorry, but that’s fucking TYRANNY wrapped in word stolen from patriotic bumper stickers.

Fuck them. All.

Civil war is coming. And it’s needed.

Ruh Roh! Fit to hit the shan tommorow in Saudi Arabia

Gulp. 😯

I’d do a posting on this; but I just recommend, quite highly, for you to read AllahPundit’s story on this.

I tend to believe that everyone at The White House and the State Department are worried about this;  and for good reason too.

I”ll leave you these quotes:

Enjoy the Wisconsin and NPR posts tonight because this news cycle may shift very quickly. The Saudis have been preparing for this for weeks: First they tried to shore up public support with a new package of economic reforms, then they drafted 10,000 troops and deployed them to the Shiite provinces in the east. All protests have been banned, naturally, and for good measure they got the country’s top clerics to issue a fatwa declaring demonstrations un-Islamic.

(***)

That’s why the White House is worried, and that’s why we’ve quietly moved from a policy of regime change in the region to “regime alteration.” It’s all geared towards protecting our “friends” in Riyadh and preventing the oil apocalypse that would crush America’s economic recovery (not to mention Obama’s reelection chances). In fact, as I said once before, I’m convinced that this is a factor in why The One has been quiet-ish about Libya. He knows the Saudi protests are coming and he doesn’t want to do anything that will commit too boldly to helping scrappy rebels against an oppressive regime. Obama will vote present on revolution in the Kingdom, and a lot of other people will vote with him. Tomorrow — big day. Exit quotation from a Wall Street analyst on today’s Saudi demonstrations and the temporary oil sell-off they inspired: “The stakes just went up in a big way. Even if this was a minor incident, it was a jarring reminder of what could happen there.”

As I was saying; Gulp.

Remember what I was saying about prayer and Obama? More of that….now.

Oh Boo Freakin’ Hoo: Rep. Keith Ellison cries crocodile tears at radical Islam hearing

Want some cheese with that silly whine?

Allow me to remind this dirtball piece of crap of something. 9/11 was not just an attack on all Americans. It was an attack on MOSTLY WHITE CHRISTIAN AMERICANS!

From Google Answers:

As of August 16, 2002, a total of 2,726 death certificates related to the WTC attacks had been filed. All but 13 persons died on September 11; of the 13 persons who were injured on September 11 and died subsequently, three persons died in other states, one each in Massachusetts, Missouri, and New Jersey. Of these 2,726 decedents, 2,103 (77%) were males and 623 (23%) were females. The median age for these decedents was 39 years (range: 2–85 years); the median age was 38 years for females (range: 2–81 years) and 39 years for males (range: 3–85 years). Three persons were aged <5 years, and three were aged >80 years. These data represent 97% of the estimated 2,819 WTC deaths; fewer death certificates have been issued than the estimated number of decedents because some families have not yet requested certificates, and investigations into several requests are still in progress.

Of these 2,726 decedents, 1,659 (61%) were non-Hispanic white males, 407 (15%) were non-Hispanic white females, 177 (6%) were Hispanic males, 81 (3%) were Hispanic females, 136 (5%) were non-Hispanic black males, 79 (3%) non-Hispanic black females, 122 (4%) were Asian/Pacific Islander (API) males, and 54 (2%) were API females. A total of 1,837 (67%) had graduated from college or had postgraduate education (males, 69%; females, 63%) (Table 1).

A total of 2,158 (79%) decedents were born in the 50 U.S. states, compared with 59% of the NYC population (1). A total of 568 (21%) decedents were born outside the 50 states, including the United Kingdom (n=56), India (n=36), Puerto Rico (n=34), the Dominican Republic (n=26), and Japan (n=25). By place of residence, as reported on the death certificates, 1,169 (43%) decedents were residents of NYC, 593 (22%) were residents elsewhere in New York (NY) state, and 674 (25%) were residents of New Jersey (Table 2). A total of 27 (1%) were residents of foreign countries. A total of 90 decedents were residents of Massachusetts, the origin of the two airplanes that struck the WTC, and 29 were residents of California, the destination of the flights.?

So, Senator Ellison, spare me okay? Because your tears mean nothing to this Christian. When your religion decided to declare war on America; your right to bitch ended. So, yeah, one of yours ended up being killed; big farking deal!

More Christian White Americans died in the attacks; than any other race or religion. So, it only seem natural that those people would want to protect themselves, from crazies in the Islamic movement. It comes with the territory. You don’t like it Mr. Ellison? There is always Mecca sir! 😡

(H/T HotAir.com)

Update: I figure I will head my critics off at the pass. I know some of them simple minded buffoons will say, “Hey what about this?” To which I say, “What about it?” These hearings are not about hate. These hearings around about the safety of our damned Country. As I said on my “About this Blog” page; I know that radical Islam is a problem; and yes folks, it is. Having hearings on the threat of Radical Islam is NOT racism at all and anyone who says it is; is nothing more than a race-baiting buffoon. I agree, we should be having hearings about radical elements within other Religions and political groups as well. In fact, I look for someone to bring them up. In my personal eyes, terrorism is terrorism. No matter if it is in the name of Allah or in the name of White Nationalism; it is all the same to me. The reason I hammered Rep. Keith Ellison, is because he is simply trying to cop a “You’re picking on me!” plea and it is not working, as Ed Morrissey pointed out, so very well.

More NPR Dirt

Here we go again…

The Video, let’s see the leftist crowd defend this:

Wow… really goes against this too:

Kasaam follows up by asking: “The fact that NPR is not only a tax-exempt organization, but also receives direct contributions from the government — does that invite some sort of government oversight or government examination of contributions, et cetera?”

Liley answered: “They have audited our programs at times and, I think, as part of that, they can look at our audited financials. If you are concerned in any way about that, that’s one reason you might want to be an anonymous donor. And, we would certainly, if that was your interest, want to shield you from that.”…

Following their phone calls, Liley checked with NPR’s senior management, and sent an e-mail to the man posing as Kasaam saying MEAC was cleared to make an anonymous donation of $5 million…

That e-mail directly contradicts NPR’s public statements issued in the wake of O’Keefe’s first video. “The fraudulent organization represented in this video repeatedly pressed us to accept a $5 million check, with no strings attached, which we repeatedly refused to accept,” NPR spokeswoman Dana Davis Rehm said in NPR’s official response.

Weigel is already acting the part of defender.

Defund NPR now.

Vox Day makes a good point

About this very stupid poll….

Thus Saith Vox Day:

This shows that the so-called right vastly favors an elephantine RINO over the only candidate who has any clue about the dreadful economic and geo-strategic situations in which the nation finds itself. Hell, they favor Newt Gingrich over Ron Paul! But at least give them credit for preferring Palin to Captain Underoos and the Huckster; they may be short-sighted and foolish, but they’re not complete idiots.

In other words, you can safely conclude that this is not the group that will be leading the charge for human freedom or a Constitutional restoration.

Heh. So true, quite sad, but very true. 😛

Yeah, I know, I swatted his butt once. But, once and while the guy does speak the truth. 😉

As much as I hate to say it: This guy does have a good point

My feelings about the so-called civility “New Tone” stupidity aside; this blogger does very much have a good point.

Now, this is not to say that there is not extremists on the left; there are. However, I do believe that there are radical elements to the far right, White Nationalist, part of the Conservative movement. Some of them showed up at CPAC and were chased off.  Some of them are of the Paleo-Conservative mindset and most of them are of the conspiratorial mindset. Which is not against the law; however, when you make a personal decision to use that mindset to commit crimes against other people, you lose your rights. Having an opinion is one thing; using that opinion to commit acts of violence against others is another entirely.

We as Conservatives; whether Neo-Conservative or Paleo-Conservative — who believe that Freedom and Liberty extends to EVERYONE; Black, White, Hispanic, Arab and every other damned race — should stand fast against these people and if you get wind of extremist activities; report them at once.

As it says on the video on the “About This Blog” page; anyone, and I mean anyone, who attempts to divide the American people by class warfare, racism, or Religion — seeks to destroy the very freedoms that the founding fathers fought for and won.

As this blogger did point out:

Of course, conservatives have been trying to whitewash away the existence of these radicals. Unfortunately for them — and the rest of us too — the radicals won’t let them do it for long.

As much as I hate say it; he does have a point. There are those on the right, who try and pretend that there is not radical element to the right. Let me say this; as a Conservative blogger, who is of the Paleo-Conservative/libertarian slant — yes, there are extremist and yes, even hate-filled corners within our movement and every now and again, as demonstrated in that link above, they do tend to act out. Which is sad, because those people totally miss the point of freedom and and Conservatism.

Bottom Line: We’re not all crazy. But we do have crazies in our midst.

More of that civility: Wisconsin Senators get e-mailed death threats

These people are not humans; they’re damned thugs and should be treated as such.

Since the MSM appears intent on downplaying the growing intimidation and escalating threats of violence around the union power issue, I am reprinting verbatim an email that was sent to Republican senators. The email was signed, but I have deleted the name pending what I hope will be a thorough police investigation.

Subject: Atten: Death threat!!!! Bomb!!!!

Please put your things in order because you will be killed and your familes

will also be killed due to your actions in the last 8 weeks. Please explain

to them that this is because if we get rid of you and your families then it

will save the rights of 300,000 people and also be able to close the deficit

that you have created. I hope you have a good time in hell. Read below for

more information on possible scenarios in which you will die.

WE want to make this perfectly clear. Because of your actions today and in

the past couple of weeks I and the group of people that are working with me

have decided that we’ve had enough. We feel that you and the people that

support the dictator have to die. We have tried many other ways of dealing

with your corruption but you have taken things too far and we will not stand

for it any longer. So, this is how it’s going to happen: I as well as many

others know where you and your family live, it’s a matter of public records.

We have all planned to assult you by arriving at your house and putting a

nice little bullet in your head. However, we decided that we wouldn’t leave

it there. We also have decided that this may not be enough to send the

message to you since you are so “high” on Koch and have decided that you are

now going to single handedly make this a dictatorship instead of a

demorcratic process. So we have also built several bombs that we have placed

in various locations around the areas in which we know that you frequent.

This includes, your house, your car, the state capitol, and well I won’t

tell you all of them because that’s just no fun. Since we know that you are

not smart enough to figure out why this is happening to you we have decided

to make it perfectly clear to you. If you and your goonies feel that it’s

necessary to strip the rights of 300,000 people and ruin their lives, making

them unable to feed, clothe, and provide the necessities to their families

and themselves then We Will “get rid of” (in which I mean kill) you. Please

understand that this does not include the heroic Rep. Senator that risked

everything to go aganist what you and your goonies wanted him to do. We feel

that it’s worth our lives to do this, because we would be saving the lives

of 300,000 people. Please make your peace with God as soon as possible and

say goodbye to your loved ones we will not wait any longer. YOU WILL DIE!!!!

This is nothing new. Michelle Malkin gets love songs written about her all the time:

Civility, it’s the new F####ing tone.

It’s good work, when you can get it…

Wow….

TMZ has learned … Charlie Sheen has just filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros. and Chuck Lorre, and he’s not only demanding he get paid for the 8 scrapped “Two and a Half Men” episodes, he’s also suing on behalf of the cast and crew … and the suit is for $100,000,000 plus punitive damages.

(**)

In a scathing preamble, legal pit bull Marty Singer writes in the lawsuit, “Chuck Lorre, one of the richest men in television who is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, believes himself to be so wealthy and powerful that he can unilaterally decide to take money away from the dedicated cast and crew of the popular television series, ‘Two and a Half Men,’ in order to serve his own ego and self-interest, and make the star of the Series the scapegoat for Lorre’s own conduct.”

Singer alleges the cancellation is based on “Warner Bros. capitulating to Lorre’s egotistical desire to punish Mr. Sheen …”

Singer alleges there was a conspiracy between Lorre and Warner Bros. to blame Charlie for the cancellation.

….and finally, A word from the late Paul Harvey

Good night America….. from Detroit.

Done with Reddit

Well, good ol’ Reddit won’t have me to kick around anymore….

They’ve officially decided to enforce their very selective rules and ban me from submitting links there.

Thanks Reddit for forcing me now to have to mooch off my folks to be able to get my medication for A.D.H.D.!

The traffic helped me in that aspect; and now, I do not have that any longer.

I realize that Reddit is not obligated to carry my links; they are a private entity, not the Government.

I will still be able to use facebook and twitter for promotion.

If someone happens to click on reddit from the “Share This” button, at the end of each posting, so be it. But I will not be doing it anymore.

Eh, them are the breaks, I guess.

Speaking of “WTF?!?!?!”

Oy… this stuff comes in waves.

Via JSonline.com:

Madison — The Senate – without Democrats present – abruptly voted Wednesday to eliminate almost all collective bargaining for most public workers.

The bill, which has sparked unprecedented protests and drawn international attention, now heads to the Assembly, which is to take it up at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Assembly, which like the Senate is controlled by Republicans, passed an almost identical version of the bill Feb. 25.

The new version passed the Senate 18-1 Wednesday night, with Sen. Dale Schultz (R-Richland Center) casting the no vote. There was no debate

Senate Minority Leader Mark Miller (D-Monona) said Democrats who have been boycotting the Senate for three weeks would return to Wisconsin once the bill passes the Assembly, although he declined to be more specific.

From Feb. 17 until Wednesday, the Senate Democrats were able to block a vote on the bill because 20 senators were required to be present to vote for it. Republicans control the house 19-14.

Late Wednesday, a committee stripped fiscal elements from the bill that they said allowed them to pass it with a simple majority present. The most controversial parts of the bill remain intact.

That committee, formed just hours earlier, quickly approved the bill as the lone Democrat at the meeting screamed that Republicans were violating the state’s open meetings law.

The law requires most public bodies to give 24 hours notice before they meet. The conference committee met with about two hours notice.

and of course, batty crazy broke out! 😯

Jeeez…. and they call Conservatives crazy? 🙄

The problem I have with all of this; is this, these knuckleheads make better money and get better benefits, than my dad and he is a retired General Motors employee! (He worked as a Hi-Low driver for 31 years…Union too!) President Obama told everyone and I mean everyone; that they had to take a haircut; and these public sector unions are acting like children that do not want to go to barber! 🙄

The private sector unions have to take and have been taking massive “haircuts”, so, why not these people? It just makes not sense at all to me. Also what gets me, is all the nuttiness! Is it really helping the cause of the Democratic Party to have senators fleeing the state? I mean, can you imagine the political ads come 2012? Holy Moses! The Republicans are going to eat the Democratic Party for lunch come 2012. Does anyone over in Wisconsin think beyond the end of their nose?

I guess the only way I can put it, is this way; I am 38 years old. I have seen much politics and much strange stuff in my days. But this sort of nonsense just takes the cake; and it is not helping the Democrats cause, at all.

I do truly believe, that the way this is all going; that Democrats are not going to be able to be elected for Mayor’s of cities; much less State Senate —- and as someone who believes in divided Government, it makes me a bit sad. 🙁

NPR —- WTF?!?!?!

I have one thing to say…. WOW.

I am, of course, referring to this:

I also liked former NPR employee, turned Fox News darling; Juan Williams really taking NPR to the woodshed over this:

I am sure that you do know about the two NPR suits getting shown the door.

The Christian Science Monitor asks a question and answers it:

NPR President and CEO Vivian Schiller resigned under pressure on Wednesday amid a storm of negative reaction to an undercover video that showed another NPR executive denigrating tea party adherents and saying that public radio might be better off without federal funds.

Will the ouster of Ms. Schiller quiet conservative outrage at the incident? After all, it was she who approved the firing of NPR commentator Juan Williams over comments about Muslims he made during a Fox News appearance last October. At the time, many conservatives (though not only conservatives) complained that Mr. Williams had been axed in the name of political correctness. They thought Schiller should have gotten the boot then, too.

Long answer short: No, it does not look as if Wednesday’s events will end things. If anything, it appears that Republican lawmakers now may redouble their efforts to end federal funding for public broadcasting.

Let me try and make this as plain as I possibly can for these idiot liberals. I do not believe that federal money, which by the way is obtained by the tax dollars of the American people in this Country; and yes, that does include the Conservative, white people that this now former CEO of NPR spoke of. If NPR wants to be a politically slanted organization; let them buy advertising —- just like everyone else. MSNBC has to it, CNN has to do it, The Nation has to do it, The New Republic has to do it, National Review has to do it, The Weekly Standard has to do it, Fox News has to do it — all of these publications have political biases and all of them live on advertiser dollars. So, why should NPR be any different?

Bottom line: It is time to defund NPR and let private monies fund that liberal group or let them become a advertiser-funded and not, American people-funded group.

National Palestine Radio!?!?! Not with my tax dollars! 😡

Why Do Conservative Christians say and do stupid stuff like this?

Seriously, is there a stupid bug going around? First NPR and now this? I was not going to touch the NPR stuff, but hell, our side is in the stupid sauce too. So, I figure I might as well give this idiot the same treatment I would the left.

The full quote, least I be accused of something I did not do:

There’s no question at times of my life, partially driven by how passionately I felt about this country, that I worked far too hard and things happened in my life that were not appropriate. And what I can tell you is that when I did things that were wrong, I wasn’t trapped in situation ethics, I was doing things that were wrong, and yet, I was doing them. I found that I felt compelled to seek God’s forgiveness. Not God’s understanding, but God’s forgiveness. I do believe in a forgiving God. And I think most people, deep down in their hearts hope there’s a forgiving God.

Somebody once said that when we’re young, we seek justice, but as we get older, we seek mercy. There’s something to that, I think. I feel that I’m now 67 I’m a grandfather. I have two wonderful grandchildren. I have two wonderful daughters and two great sons-in-law. Callista and I have a great marriage. I think that I’ve learned an immense amount.

And I do feel, in that sense, that God has given me, has blessed me with an opportunity as a person. Forget about all this political stuff. As a person, I’ve had the opportunity to have a wonderful life, to find myself now, truly enjoying the depths of my life in ways that I never dreamed it was possible to have a life that was that nice.

Let me get this straight; did he just say that he was screwing around on his wife —- because he loved the Country??!?!

Oh brother…. 🙄

This guy says that Gingrich sounds like Donald Trump:

While he is admitting that he did something wrong, he’s also trying to justify his behavior by aggrandizing himself. My own view is, when you’re owning up to something, you own up to it fully. You don’t try to explain or justify it yourself. The problem Gingrich faces when it comes to his personal problems is that the best possible argument a politician can make in these cases is that people should separate personal indiscretions from performance in office. Yet as leader of the effort to impeach President Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky scandal, Gingrich is in the worst possible position to make that argument. So we’ll have to keep a close watch on how this goes over with the base.

Ouch! That’ll leave a mark! 😯

AllahPundit rounds up the snickering and giggle within the Conservative movement:

It ain’t just liberals and big media that are groaning at this explanation. Among conservative outlets/pundits that are rolling their eyes: The Daily Caller, Jim Geraghty of NRO, Philip Klein of AmSpec (who snarks, “Wilt Chamberlain must have really loved his country”), and John Podhoretz of Commentary, who advises Newt not to bother running after this bon mot.

Never thought I’d see the day that Neo-Conservatives would basically tell one of their own, “Nice try idiot!” But that day has arrived. 😛 ….and a great day it is! 😀

Oh yes, by the way…. remember what I said about prayer? The Republican Party; add it to the list — quick!

MONEY BOMB! March 12th

Are Conservatives finally waking up to the realities of war?

This all comes via Little Miss Whatsherface.

Kenneth Anderson writing over at The Volokh Conspiracy says:

It’s heartbreaking, if you’ve spent a lot of time and energy over years of your life, figuring out how to deal with the local village elders and try and start development projects and improve governance and send Afghan girls to school, to realize that the institutions that one believes one has started and got off the ground are far more likely to blow away like a Potemkin village.  You have these hard-won skills and these small, on the ground achievements, and it looks like maybe you’ve started something that might someday bear fruit.  You’ve actually done remarkable things, by any ordinary measure.  But then it doesn’t bear fruit, because it isn’t rooted, not culturally or institutionally, and the belief that it will have a life after your funding is gone is illusion.

But it’s not an unusual story, if one looks beyond Afghanistan and indeed beyond war.  It’s actually the oldest story in the world in development work.  In development, we believe we need to develop institutional governance capacities so that the efforts that shelter and take root under those institutions will not be in vain.  No doubt that’s true.  But unfortunately we don’t have a clue how to do that — and even less of a clue how to do that in war.

I highly recommend that you go read that whole quote. Because if this is broadening feeling among Conservatives; we could be looking at a total change in attitude among the right.

Mark Steyn over at National Review puts it in more plain terms:

Before I got into the Derb/Andy discussion, I was reading an obituary in The Daily Telegraph of Anthony Brooke, former Rajah Muda of Sarawak, whose family reigned over much of the Borneo jungle for over a century until 1946, when the kingdom lost its independence and was formally incorporated into the British Empire. As often with flotsam and jetsam (Flintstone and Jetson?) from the imperial byways, you’re struck by how much London accomplished with so little. By contrast, we’ve spent a fortune in Afghanistan and have nothing to show for it.

I think the difference is this: When America goes into Afghanistan, it doesn’t think it’s prosecuting American interests. Quite the opposite: Regardless of whether it’s officially UN- or Nato-sanctioned, America goes in as the expeditionary force of “world opinion” or “the global commons”. It doesn’t believe it has a national interest in Afghanistan, and indeed assumes that it would be a kind of transnational faux pas to be seen to have one, so it’s hardly surprising that the “nation” it winds up “building” doesn’t look much like anywhere any American would want to have anything to do with. Even nation-building requires the builder to build it in what he perceives as his national interest – as the British did in India and the Americans in post-war Japan. If you have disinterested, transnational nation-building, you wind up as we have in Kabul.

To go back to Sarawak, it was ceded to His Britannic Majesty in 1946 and became independent in 1963, when it joined the new Federation of Malaysia: Seventeen years from colony to statehood – versus a decade spent presiding over Take Your Catamite To Work Day in Kandahar. And, as a New Jersey reader wrote to me the other day, “Does anybody really think we’re leaving anytime soon?” In Afghanistan and elsewhere, transnational nation-building is like a mangled Hotel California: We never seriously check in, and yet we never leave.

Now, if I were a rabid Ron Paul or Pat Buchanan type; I would say something to the effect of, “See? Now that the Neo-Conservatives are not controlling the war, they want to stop it!” Well, rest assured I am not a rabid anything at all. I think that it is encouraging to see that the Conservative Blogosphere is finally starting to figure out, what the rest of the America already knows; that we went into Afghanistan to hunt down, and capture or kill Osama Bin Laden and destroy Al-Qaeda. Now that has become like the secondary mission and defeating the Taliban and setting up Government there is now this goal, which is essentially “Nation Building.” Something that never works, ever. Especially in the middle east, where some, if not all, of the Governments are inherently corrupt.

Either way, it is good to now see writers question the very thing, that back in 2003, they were mindlessly cheerleading.
