This is un-farking-believable!

The Rev. Grant Storms, the Christian fundamentalist known for his bullhorn protests of the Southern Decadence festival in the French Quarter, was arrested on a charge of masturbating at a Metairie park Friday afternoon.
The Times-Picayune archiveThe Rev. Grant Storms is hit by confetti as he leads his anti-Southern Decadence parade in the French Quarter in 2003
Storms, 53, of 2304 Green Acres Road in Metairie, was taken into custody at Lafreniere Park after two women reported seeing him masturbating in the driver’s seat of his van, which was parked near the carousel and playground, a Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office report said.
The first woman told deputies she was taking her children to the playground and parked next to the van at about noon. As she was walking around her own vehicle, she noticed the van windows were down and the occupant was “looking at the playground area that contained children playing, with his zipper down…,” the report said. The woman noted that he was masturbating and quickly ushered her children out of her car.
She told a second woman, who walked to the van and also spotted the man masturbating, the report said. The second witness told deputies that the driver saw her and tried to conceal the zipper area of his pants with his hand.
The two women flagged down a park employee who notified the Sheriff’s Office. The employee detained the man, later identified as Storms, until deputies arrived.
Storms told deputies he was having lunch at the park when he decided to urinate using a bottle instead of the restroom, the report said.
Now that he’s caught, he admits he’s got a problem!
Via WDSU-TV:
NEW ORLEANS — The conservative pastor known for his condemnation of the Southern Decadence Festival was tearful and apologetic Tuesday in discussing his recent arrest. The Rev. Grant Storms called himself a “hypocrite” because of his Friday arrest on accusations of masturbating in a public park. Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s deputies charged him with obscenity after two women claimed they saw him touching himself while watching children on the playground at Lafreniere Park.Storms said in a news conference Tuesday that he was not watching the children, but he did have his hand in his pants. He apologized to those he has hurt, and he said he was sorry for targeting Decadence, an annual gay festival in the French Quarter.Storms said he is seeking help for a problem with pornography, which he called a recent issue. He also said he is not living at home — he held the news conference from a motel — and he asked for the media to respect his privacy.
I mean, I hate to sound cynical; but, why is it that people who are ate up with what other people do and feel it is their God-given duty to stop people from doing what they feel is wrong — always turn out to have a problem like this? It’s crazy. I heard a Baptist preacher say once, that Christianity was a “Bug-light” for the weirdos and the “hard cases.” He does not know how right he was!
The dude is in need of prayer, that is for sure — kinda like this Country.
I like these guys; but when they resort to lies, I most expose them.
Ron Paul gave an interview with the News Real Blog, which is owned by the Neo-Conservative goon David Horowitz; who also, by the way, was a former far-leftist. Some would argue that he still is. Anyhow, It appears that this blog wanted to do a follow up.
Here is what Ron Paul really said about Israel:
NRB: David Horowitz and others have been critical of the effect that your foreign policy would have upon Israel⌠How would you describe a libertarian vision for alliance that could support democracies where people want to determine their own course while under threat by external forces?
Ron Paul: Weâve been involved a long time, since World War II, especially since weâve inherited or developed our empire. We strongly supported all the dictators that surround Israel, and sometimes we buy peace and pay for it. But itâs unstable. And that instability has always been a threat to Israel. Now, when itâs coming apart, and our financial systemâs coming apart, Israel is in worse shape than ever because of our so-called protection.
I believe in non-intervention. I believe we should treat all other countries alike, and that we should be friends. Israel is very, very powerful. If we werenât in there, they could do what they want to protect themselves, and they wouldnât have to ask us permission, and we would never have to be dragged in if something happens over there. I think theyâd be much better off, and that would be a constitutional position.
NRB: Is there a point where the existence of Israel being under threat would compel even a libertarian to take action to protect her?
Paul: First off, theyâre under threat because weâre there. Weâre a greater threat to them, and our polices, because they have assumed that weâll [intervene] if they donât do the right things for themselves.
I donât know of anybody who can militarily threaten them. They have 300 nuclear weapons. Nobodyâs gonna touch them. This notion that we have to support them over the Palestinians â we shouldnât favor one over the other. Itâs a very different problem over there. If youâre a Palestinian-American, you might not like [America’s position on Israel]. Iâm not saying you should support the Palestinian side or the Israeli side. Iâm saying let them work it out.
…and what does HotAir.com put in their headlines as what Ron Paul said? This:
Ron Paul: We shouldnât favor Israel over the Palestinians
Thus proving what I have believed about Neo-Conservatives since I have been blogging. That nothing matters to them, as long as the agenda of defending Israel to the death is followed —– even telling the truth. Ron Paul simply said, “Treat them all the same.” The way that headline was written, one would think Paul was anti-Israel or even Anti-Semitic. To be fair, I disagree with this part here myself:
I believe in non-intervention. I believe we should treat all other countries alike, and that we should be friends. Israel is very, very powerful. If we werenât in there, they could do what they want to protect themselves, and they wouldnât have to ask us permission, and we would never have to be dragged in if something happens over there. I think theyâd be much better off, and that would be a constitutional position.
The problem here is, there are more Arab nations and Israel is one small Country. If all these Arabs Nations were to decide to gang up on Israel; the results would disastrous. Now that, would not be a good thing to any normal, sane, rational person. That is, unless you are some sort of White Nationalist or Jew-Hater — and a good amount of Ron Paul followers are Jew-Haters, Conspiracy Kooks and just plain old weirdos. I personally, if Ron Paul were running, would not vote for him. Ron Paul is not going to run to actually win the election; he is running to spread his message. Some of Ron Paul’s biggest supporters admitted that to me. Plus, I do not agree with Paul’s strict isolationism.
My point here is this; I can understand someone not agreeing with Ron Paul’s policy stance; but when you resort to writing bogus headlines to make someone look like someone that they are not, you lose any sort of credibility. I also will say that HotAir is not the only blog to do this; it happens everywhere in the right wing Blogosphere. I try and shy away from that. Link baiting is a easy cheap way of getting hits. But the harder way is to write good content; I try to stay with the latter.

Sorry about that title, that’s my ghetto coming out a bit. đ
Via The Hill:
Black lawmakers on Monday said GOP-proposed budget cuts would move the country in the opposite direction of the civil rights movement.
The lawmakers, all members of the Congressional Black Caucus, used the last day of Black History Month to argue the GOP-backed cuts would fall hardest on black Americans.
“It’s really especially poignant that this year during Black History Month, the Republican leadership has proposed a budget for fiscal year 2011 that will fall most heavily, mind you, on the backs of the most vulnerable in our society: African Americans, Latinos, and poor, those who have been shut of the American dream,” said Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), who described the cuts as ill-timed and destructive.
“At a time when we should be remembering and uplifting the accomplishments and contributions of African Americans, to the history, culture, civil rights and economy of America, we are literally during this month debating steps that will severely undercut and undermine that legacy,” she said.
Lee also criticized Republicans for saying “so be it” when asked their reaction to the idea that cuts to government spending might hurt U.S. job growth. “So be it,” she repeated. “That’s not what the Civil Rights movement was about.”
I cannot fathom how they are making that stretch. But they are.
Again, More Prayer please. We need it, badly.
This is bad and this idiot ought to resign.
The Story Via WTMJ Radio:
Last Friday…. after the Assembly voted to engross the Budget Repair Bill, Hintz turned to a female colleague, Rep. Michelle Litjens and said: “You are F***king dead!”
New tone, indeed. Will he be held accountable?
Of course, now, this idiot is apologizing:
An Oshkosh Assemblyman apologized to a colleague Monday for comments he made on the floor of the Assembly last week immediately following a vote on a contentious budget repair bill.
Rep. Gordon Hintz, D Oshkosh, apologized to Rep. Michelle Litjens, R-Winneconne, for shouting out an obscenity that included the words âyouâre deadâ that Litjens and other witnesses heard in the chaotic scene after Republicans approved the bill.
Litjens said she accepted the apology, but has asked the Assembly leadership to discipline Hintz.
Of course, being the trooper and classy lady that she is, Rep. Michelle Litjens is trying to cut the man a little slack:
âEveryone was exhausted. We were on the floor 58 hours. (But) there is still no excuse for his comment,â Litjens said.
Litjens said she did not believe Hintzâ comments were meant for her personally. Rather, the comment was directed at the Republican Party as a whole for moving ahead on the governorâs bill.
âWe should be able to civilly discuss issues we are passionate about without feeling threatened,â she said.
Sorry, Rep. Litjens, but threatening someone with violence is just unacceptable; and if this asshole cannot control his emotions, he should be removed from his job.
Update: Okay, I removed the crap that you fascist liberals were going crazy over. You idiots happy now? đ
Whatever happened to freedom of damned speech in this Country. You commie idiots can go to hell.
I still think someone ought to confront the guy. I will leave to to your imagination as to how. Seeing we got speech Nazi’s in America nowadays, called LIBERALS! (and Neo-Cons too…)

Meade and I confront them, and we’re told we’re the first people who’ve had a problem with it. I try to explain how that attempted defense of the behavior is only going to make it look worse. It means that of all these crowds of people in the Capitol, no one else has noticed or cared enough to say anything.
There you have it folks; you modern day Democratic Party; haters and disrespectful of the United States Military. Which is why I will never, ever, vote Democrat, ever again. đĄ

As luck would have it; I have an diary account over at DailyKos and I posted a Dairy with this video, asking what Ann Althouse asked those leftists. The comments are telling. The left has lost its way badly. đ It is so sad too. That was the party of FDR, JFK and LBJ; and now, it’s…. this. It saddens me to my core. đ —- Update: I went ahead and deleted the dairy; those guys cannot have a discussion without being nasty. So, I killed it. As Marcos Said about our troops; “Screw them.”
It must be because it is Friday and there is not much else to report.
Anyhow, some idiot did the following:
At Rep. Paul Brounâs town hall meeting on Tuesday, the Athens congressman asked who had driven the farthest to be there and let the winner ask the first question.
We couldnât hear the question in the back of the packed Oglethorpe County Commission chamber, but whatever it was, it got a big laugh. According to an outraged commenter on the article, the question was, when is someone going to shoot Obama?
Iâve asked Team Broun whether that was indeed the question and havenât gotten an answer. The commenter accurately described the questioner and the circumstances, and no one has disputed his account.Update: Brounâs press secretary, Jessica Morris, confirmed that the question was indeed, who is going to shoot Obama? âObviously, the question was inappropriate, so Congressman Broun moved on,â she said.
Here was Brounâs response:
The thing is, I know thereâs a lot of frustration with this president. Weâre going to have an election next year. Hopefully, weâll elect somebody thatâs going to be a conservative, limited-government president that will take a smaller, who will sign a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare.
He then segued into Republicansâ budget proposal.
Dumb? Yes. Illegal? Possibly.
The left, predictably, is going, um, “Ape Shit” over it. Perfect example, Oliver Willis: (H/T The Right Sphere)
All Americans should condemn assassination speech, but especially if youâre a member of congress. What an epic shame. What a blight these people are on our government.
Um, Mr. Willis, Where were you, when these people were walking around with signs like this? (H/T NewsBusters)

Where were you Oliver, when these things was being paraded in the streets?

Oh, I know where you were Mr. Willis; you were out there helping CARRYING these signs and things around, weren’t you?
How is it, when a White Conservative Republican is in the White House and liberals threaten to kill him —- it is perfectly fine. But you let a socialist Negro in the damned White House and just because someone dares to verbalize what many in the silent majority are thinking; that is some sort of a fucking federal crime? Tell me that! By the way, I call him a socialist Negro, because that is what the hell he is, I do not believe in Political Correctness on this blog. I call it like I see it.
By the way, Mr. Willis and rest of idiot liberals; you can breath a little easier:
UPDATE, 11:50 a.m.: In a new statement Rep Paul Broun appears to admit he should have condemned his constituent:
Tuesday night at a town hall meeting in Oglethorpe County, Georgia an elderly man asked the abhorrent question, “Who’s going to shoot Obama?” I was stunned by the question and chose not to dignify it with a response; therefore, at that moment I moved on to the next person with a question. After the event, my office took action with the appropriate authorities.
I deeply regret that this incident happened at all. Furthermore, I condemn all statements — made in sincerity or jest — that threaten or suggest the use of violence against the President of the United States or any other public official. Such rhetoric cannot and will not be tolerated.
*****************************************************************
(****)
“In this case this was poor taste,” the source says. “The person realized that.”
Now there’s the small matter of whether Broun regrets not condemning the comment. My understanding is more will be forthcoming from his office on this soon, so stay tuned.
Happy now crybabies? đ
Anyhow, yeah, it was stupid; I will admit that, but where was all of that outrage, when the liberals were wanting Bush dead? Fucking hypocrites, the damned whole lot of them. đĄ
Note: I just noticed the silly typo in the headline. Hug ordeal? Good Lord. đ I fixed it.
This is rather bizarre. First some dude hits a lady’s camera, and now this? Whoa. đŽÂ This whole thing is going in a rather strange particular way.
This guy explains it:
As Lenin said: âWho, whom?â
UPDATE: Tikkum olam is a rabbinical concept that might properly be translated as âfor the public good,â but which in the modern era has been politicized by many on the Left, so that it is indistinguishable in their interpretation from âsocial justice.â Most famously, Michael Lerner â a 1960s anti-war radical who once led an SDS splinter group called the Seattle Liberation Front â named his magazine Tikkun.
I am assuming that Ben Howe is Jewish; That is a new one on me. and This ugly leftist must be Jewish too, she certainly ugly enough to be one. (D’oh! I am so bad… đ )

First of all; let me be clear on something here. I do not, nor have I ever advocated for violence on this blog. I have jokingly made snarky comments at times. But I would never use violence or encourage others to use violence against anyhow.
Having said all of this; it seems that a Conservative Attorney General made some comments on twitter and now finds himself in some very hot water: (H/T to some moron Blogger)
Via Mother Jones:
On Saturday night, when Mother Jones staffers tweeted a report that riot police might soon sweep demonstrators out of the Wisconsin capitol buildingâsomething that didn’t end up happeningâone Twitter user sent out a chilling public response: “Use live ammunition.”
From my own Twitter account, I confronted the user, JCCentCom. He tweeted back that the demonstrators were “political enemies” and “thugs” who were “physically threatening legally elected officials.” In response to such behavior, he said, “You’re damned right I advocate deadly force.” He later called me a “typical leftist,” adding, “liberals hate police.“
Only later did we realize that JCCentCom was a deputy attorney general for the state of Indiana.
As one of 144 attorneys in that office, Jeff Cox has represented the people of his state for 10 years. And for much of that time, it turns out, he’s vented similar feelings on Twitter and on his blog, Pro Cynic. In his nonpolitical tweets and blog posts, Cox displays a keen litigator’s mind, writing sharply and often wittily on military history and professional basketball. But he evinces contempt for political opponentsâfrom labeling President Obama an “incompetent and treasonous” enemy of the nation to comparing “enviro-Nazis” to Osama bin Laden, likening ex-Labor Secretary Robert Reich and Service Employees International Union members to Nazi “brownshirts” on multiple occasions, and referring to an Indianapolis teen as “a black teenage thug who was (deservedly) beaten up” by local police. A “sensible policy for handling Afghanistan,” he offered, could be summed up as: “KILL! KILL! ANNIHILATE!“
Early Sunday, Mother Jones sent an email to Cox’s work address at the Indiana attorney general’s office, asking if the Twitter and blog comments were his, and if he could provide context for some of them. He responded shortly after from a personal email address: “For ‘context?’ Or to silence me? All my comments on twitter & my blog are my own and no one else’s. And I can defend them all.
“[Y]ou will probably try to demonize me,” he wrote, “but that comes with the territory.”
Well, looks like the guy ended up in some seriously hot water, the story continues via Mother Jones:
This morning, Mother Jones reported that Jeff Cox, an Indiana deputy attorney general, had called for using “live ammunition” against Wisconsin protesters. Cox’s bosses have issued a statement noting that they are conducting an “immediate review” of the prolific tweeter and blogger and that the state attorney general will take “appropriate personnel action” when the review of the “serious matter” is complete. The statement:
The Indiana Attorney General’s Office does not condone the inflammatory statements asserted in the “Mother Jones” article and we do not condone any comments that would threaten or imply violence or intimidation toward anyone. Civility and courtesy toward all constituents is very important to this agency. We take this matter very seriously.
An immediate review of this personnel matter is now under way to determine whether the assertions made in the “Mother Jones” article about an employee are accurate. When that review is complete, appropriate personnel action will be taken.
The reporter who wrote the “Mother Jones” article informs us that the offensive postings over the weekend were made using a personal Twitter account and personal email, not a state government email account.
As public servants, state employees should strive to conduct themselves with professionalism and appropriate decorum in their interactions with the public. This is a serious matter that is being addressed.
Any other time; I would say this guy got what was coming to him. Because he is in public office. Because it is one thing to be a private citizen and say something along these lines. But it is another entirely to be a public servant and make such comments as this.
However, let us look at something, shall we? It was not to long ago; that some rapper, made a vile and disgusting video, which mentioned Michelle Malkin and Sean Hannity and a few other Conservative media types in it. It has since been made private on youtube, because of the backlash. Here is that video, I happened to download it and upload it to liveleak:
At the time, Michelle Malkin wrote about it and So did I. I get the fact that one person was in office and one was not; so, why did not this video make it to Mother Jones and get reported on and be denounced by the MSM? That is because the liberals in the Country; black, white, Hispanic and otherwise, get a free pass on stuff like this, because it is against Conservative and anyone else who happens to agree with the agenda of the liberal left in this Country. If a Conservative person had made a video of that nature and the tables turn on the racist comments. It would have been reported everywhere. But, because this was black against white, the liberals see it as “Art.”
Again, do not misunderstand me here; what that idiot said was stupid for an elected official to say publicly. But it sure seems like the liberals get a pass on things, like the video above and a Conservative who’s foolish enough to verbalize something, as this one did; really get put through the proverbial wringer. It is a double standard and it is wrong, period.
Update: Jeff Cox has been fired as Deputy AG:
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indiana Attorney Generalâs office announced Wednesday afternoon its deputy attorney general is no longer employed by the agency, after reviewing political website Mother Jones’ Â published allegations that he advocated the use of force against protesters in Wisconsin.
According to the online article , Jeff Cox tweeted âUse Live Ammunitionâ in response to a Mother Jones tweet reporting riot police had been called into the state capital to remove protesters.
Mother Jones later learned Jeff Cox held a post as an Indiana official.
In a statement released Wednesday afternoon, the Attorney General office said, “Civility and courtesy toward all members of the public are very important to the Indiana Attorney Generalâs Office. We respect individualsâ First Amendment right to express their personal views on private online forums, but as public servants we are held by the public to a higher standard, and we should strive for civility.”
Two thoughts, this guy; as much as I hate to admit this, got what was coming to him. If you are in public office, you just do not make stupid comments like this, anywhere. Also, the other thought is, oh wonderful, this guy will become a martyr for the far right; the whole, “I was standing up for my Country and exercising my first amendment rights — and was fired for it!” will be used to justify his actions. The sick and sad part is, the far right will eat this crap up. Never mind the fact that he was Government official; but he also serves ALL of the people, not just the Conservative ones. Anyhow, it is a sad situation. Indiana just lost a Deputy A/G and the far-right just gained a pivot man. (if you know what I mean…)
This, my friends, is a sign that she is totally ate up with herself:
Sarah Palin has apparently created a second Facebook account with her Gmail address so that this fake âLou Sarahâ person can praise the other Sarah Palin on Facebook. The Gmail address is available for anyone to see in this leaked manuscript about Sarah Palin, and the Facebook page for âLou Sarahâ â Sarah Palinâs middle name is âLouiseâ â is just a bunch of praise and âLikesâ for the things Sarah Palin likes and writes on her other Sarah Palin Facebook page. âLou Sarahâ even says âamenâ to Facebook posts by Sarah Sarah.
So weâve been reading this leaked Palin book. Interesting read! But this manuscript doesnât seem quite ready to be published, despite it being leaked around to the entire Internet. Frank Bailey and his co-authors excerpt a bunch of Sarah Palinâs e-mails, and one page of these excerpts shows Palinâs personal Gmail address. We searched for this address on Facebook, the way millions of people search for people on Facebook every day, and it appears that Palin keeps a second Facebook account. Besides staying in touch with Sarah Palinâs father Chuck Heath, what does âLou Sarahâ use Facebook for? Saying âamenâ to her own Facebook fan page missives, in the guise of a completely different person. âLou Sarahâ also really âLIkesâ Bristol Palinâs Dancing With the Stars photos.

Update…. and Just like magic, Via Wonkette:
Oh, it looks like we spoke too soon. Somebody finally shut down the âLou Sarahâ account, either while we were writing that last post or after it went up. So we guess Palinâs statement last night is true. Her public page is her only account, currently, as âLou Sarahâ is no more. Meanwhile, our repeated e-mails to Sarah Palinâs private e-mail account, as it was listed in her former advisorâs leaked book, continue to be unreturned. But weâre not getting delivery errors back, so the account still exists. Weâll let you know when that gets shut down too, we guess.
Sarah Palin says it was not her account. Sarah Palin also said her daughter was not knocked up too, when that first broke too. She also says Trig is her baby too. đ
I’m just sayin!
She’ll never be president; if she even fucking tries, I will make it my life’s goal to destroy that bitch; I assure you of that. She’s not a Conservative, she is a feminist and a liberal populist and I will do everything within my means to stop her from the nomination. You have been warned, Mrs. Palin. đĄ

You just do not threaten people and in any way, shape or form try to strike fear into people; to make a political point. That, my friends is what al-Qaeda did here on 9/11. That is correct, that is a form of terrorism and should be treated as such by the United States Government.

I do believe that if anyone has a credibility problem sir, it is you. Numbers do no lie. Fox News Channel is the highest rated news network right now. That might have something to do with the fact they do not kowtow down to your liberal President’s bull crap, nor do they play his propaganda game. Liberalism and big governess are a losing game. Freedom is popular and you, my little liberal idiot friend, are on the wrong side of that game. Period, end of discussion.
In this space, before I post this video; I usually post a disclaimer, because usually, I do not agree with some of the content and ideas presented in this Video report. However, this week, I am going to forgo the disclaimer. Because a good ninety percent of what is presented here, I absolutely agree with and besides, nothing gives me more joy, than to watch freedom-loving Americans making Neo-Conservative fascists look like the damn fools that they are. Yes, it warms the cackles of my stone cold heart to see those who wish to sell our freedoms out to the altar of “Security” made to look like buffoons.
Very well done gents, very, very, well done. đ
Having said all that —- here is the synopsis and Video….

We were warned that this sort of a thing was going to happen, Glenn Beck said it long ago…:
NEW YORK — Clothing prices have dropped for a decade as tame inflation and cheap overseas labor helped hold down costs. Retailers and clothing makers cut frills and experimented with fabric blends to cut prices during the recession.
But as the world economy recovers and demand for goods rises, a surge in labor and raw materials costs is squeezing retailers and manufacturers who have run out of ways to pare costs.
Cotton has more than doubled in price over the last year, hitting all-time highs. The price of synthetic fabrics has jumped roughly 50% as demand for alternatives and blends has risen.
Clothing prices are expected to rise about 10% in coming months, with the biggest increases coming in the second half of the year, said Burt Flickinger III, president of Strategic Resource Group.

I think now would be a good time to go out and get a few good pairs of pants and a few shirts. There’s nothing wrong with stocking up on needed stuff.
This is just the beginning. Wait till food prices skyrocket.
You can thank your feckless Government for this.
But, I am not going to allow people from that forum, that I will not link to here in a blog entry; to come to my site and leave sock puppet comments — especially when the IP addresses on the comments are the same as the man who came and tried to argue with me.
I swear, those people are just straight up vermin and those actions prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt with me. đĄ

Well, isn’t this just a lovely story to pick up on a Sunday Morning?
WASHINGTON â The Obama administration’s Justice Department has asserted that the FBI can obtain telephone records of international calls made from the United States without any formal legal process or court oversight, according to a document obtained by McClatchy.
That assertion was revealed by the department â perhaps inadvertently â in its response to a McClatchy request for a copy of a secret Justice Department memo.
Critics say the legal position is flawed and creates a potential loophole that could lead to a repeat of FBI abuses that were supposed to have been stopped in 2006.
The controversy is a legacy of the Bush administration’s war on terror. Critics say the Obama administration appears to be continuing many of the most controversial tactics of that strategy, including the assertion of sweeping executive powers.
For years after the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, the FBI sought and obtained thousands of telephone records for international calls in an attempt to thwart potential terrorists. The bureau devised an informal system of requesting the records from three telecommunications firms to create what one agent called a “phone database on steroids” that included names, addresses, length of service and billing information.
Which proves to this old school, Paleoconservative, Fundamentalist Christian one thing and one thing alone. That the only difference between a Neo-Liberal; like President Obama and a Neoconservative like President Bush is this —- One loves big Government and the other loves big Government as long as they are the one’s controlling it.
I remember how doing the Bush era, people like Keith Olbermann, were wailing to the top of their lungs about how darned horrible of the Bush Administration to allow such stuff to happen; and now that the Obama Administration is in power, what do you hear?
(click to play)
That is right, absolutely nothing about it at all. That is because the socialist liberals do not give a damn about personal liberty, all they care about is winning elections. All of the attacks against the Bush administration about everything; Hurricane Katrina, 9/11, Iraq —- everything —was just partisan politics. It never was about the people; because socialists do not give a darn about the people! All they care about is power – governmental power — everything else to them is just second nature.
Which pretty much sums up why I stopped voted for the Democratic Party. I am pretty much on to their game anymore. They try to come off as the party of the people; but anymore, they are all about the party of the state.
Some good video here:
The Story via ABC NEWS:
More than four years after leaving public life, former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld continues to believe the war in Iraq was worth the effort, and has no apologies for his decision-making in leading the campaigns in Afghanistan and Iraq.
In an exclusive interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer, Rumsfeld concedes that “it’s possible” that decisions on how many troops to send into Iraq marked the biggest mistake of the war.
“In a war, many things cost lives,” Rumsfeld told Sawyer.
Pressed on the fact that President Bush has written that cutting troop levels in Iraq was “the most important failure in the execution of the war,” Rumsfeld called that “interesting.”
I do not much care for the man. He is, in my humble opinion, an ignoramus. But he does have his opinions and he is a human being.
Get the Book:
I also highly recommend George W. Bush’s book as well:
As you know, this is the 100’th birthday of our Nation’s 40’th President.
But I believe it is important to know, what he really did, while he was in office. The Progressive Blog, Think Progress, lists the things that Reagan did while he was in office. These are the ones that I, as a Paleo-Con care about — :
1. Reagan was a serial tax raiser. As governor of California, Reagan âsigned into law the largest tax increase in the history of any state up till then.â Meanwhile, state spending nearly doubled. As president, Reagan âraised taxes in seven of his eight years in office,â including four times in just two years. As former GOP Senator Alan Simpson, who called Reagan âa dear friend,â told NPR, âRonald Reagan raised taxes 11 times in his administration â I was there.â âReagan was never afraid to raise taxes,â said historian Douglas Brinkley, who edited Reaganâs memoir. Reagan the anti-tax zealot is âfalse mythology,â Brinkley said.
2. Reagan nearly tripled the federal budget deficit. During the Reagan years, the debt increased to nearly $3 trillion, âroughly three times as much as the first 80 years of the century had done altogether.â Reagan enacted a major tax cut his first year in office and government revenue dropped off precipitously. Despite the conservative myth that tax cuts somehow increase revenue, the government went deeper into debt and Reagan had to raise taxes just a year after he enacted his tax cut. Despite ten more tax hikes on everything from gasoline to corporate income, Reagan was never able to get the deficit under control.
4. Reagan grew the size of the federal government tremendously. Reagan promised âto move boldly, decisively, and quickly to control the runaway growth of federal spending,â but federal spending âballoonedâ under Reagan. He bailed out Social Security in 1983 after attempting to privatize it, and set up a progressive taxation system to keep it funded into the future. He promised to cut government agencies like the Department of Energy and Education but ended up adding one of the largest â the Department of Veteransâ Affairs, which today has a budget of nearly $90 billion and close to 300,000 employees. He also hiked defense spending by over $100 billion a year to a level not seen since the height of the Vietnam war.
6. Reagan was a âbellicose peacenik.â He wrote in his memoirs that â[m]y dreamâŚbecame a world free of nuclear weapons.â âThis vision stemmed from the presidentâs belief that the biblical account of Armageddon prophesied nuclear war â and that apocalypse could be averted if everyone, especially the Soviets, eliminated nuclear weapons,â the Washington Monthly noted. And Reaganâs military buildup was meant to crush the Soviet Union, but âalso to put the United States in a stronger position from which to establish effective arms controlâ for the the entire world â a vision acted out by Regeanâs vice president, George H.W. Bush, when he became president.
7. Reagan gave amnesty to 3 million undocumented immigrants. Reagan signed into law a bill that made any immigrant who had entered the country before 1982 eligible for amnesty. The bill was sold as a crackdown, but its tough sanctions on employers who hired undocumented immigrants were removed before final passage. The bill helped 3 million people and millions more family members gain American residency. It has since become a source of major embarrassment for conservatives.
8. Reagan illegally funneled weapons to Iran. Reagan and other senior U.S. officials secretly sold arms to officials in Iran, which was subject to a an arms embargo at the time, in exchange for American hostages. Some funds from the illegal arms sales also went to fund anti-Communist rebels in Nicaragua â something Congress had already prohibited the administration from doing. When the deals went public, the Iran-Contra Affair, as it came to be know, was an enormous political scandal that forced several senior administration officials to resign.
9. Reagan vetoed a comprehensive anti-Apartheid act. which placed sanctions on South Africa and cut off all American trade with the country. Reaganâs veto was overridden by the Republican-controlled Senate. Reagan responded by saying âI deeply regret that Congress has seen fit to override my veto,â saying that the law âwill not solve the serious problems that plague that country.â
10. Reagan helped create the Taliban and Osama Bin Laden. Reagan fought a proxy war with the Soviet Union by training, arming, equipping, and funding Islamist mujahidin fighters in Afghanistan. Reagan funneled billions of dollars, along with top-secret intelligence and sophisticated weaponry to these fighters through the Pakistani intelligence service. The Talbian and Osama Bin Laden â a prominent mujahidin commander â emerged from these mujahidin groups Reagan helped create, and U.S. policy towards Pakistan remains strained because of the intelligence servicesâ close relations to these fighters. In fact, Reaganâs decision to continue the proxy war after the Soviets were willing to retreat played a direct role in Bin Ladenâs ascendency.
Now these here, are things that Reagan inherited from Jimmy Carter, and were, of course, by the progressives, blamed on Reagan:
3. Unemployment soared after Reaganâs 1981 tax cuts. Unemployment jumped to 10.8 percent after Reagan enacted his much-touted tax cut, and it took years for the rate to get back down to its previous level. Meanwhile, income inequality exploded. Despite the myth that Reagan presided over an era of unmatched economic boom for all Americans, Reagan disproportionately taxed the poor and middle class, but the economic growth of the 1980?s did little help them. âSince 1980, median household income has risen only 30 percent, adjusted for inflation, while average incomes at the top have tripled or quadrupled,â the New York Timesâ David Leonhardt noted.
Which of course, is a liberal talking point. This was actually caused by the raising of taxes under Carter and because of the slump in the economy, caused by inflation; which again, was caused by Democrat’s spending.
Another talking point:
5. Reagan did little to fight a womanâs right to chose. As governor of California in 1967, Reagan signed a bill to liberalize the stateâs abortion laws that âresulted in more than a million abortions.â When Reagan ran for president, he advocated a constitutional amendment that would have prohibited all abortions except when necessary to save the life of the mother, but once in office, he ânever seriously pursuedâ curbing choice.
Well, that might have to do with the fact that President Reagan thought Abortion was murder; however, he knew that it was not the role of the Federal Government to stop abortion — but rather the State’s role. This is because he was a Federalist. Not only that — but — do the liberals know the concept of a campaign promise or saying stuff to get elected? Funny, Obama did the very same things, when he was running. But that’s okay — because he is a liberal! đ
Also, The American Conservative’s blog @TAC lists some remembrances:
Pat Buchanan â âWe Shall Not See His Like Againâ
When America began to tear herself apart over morality, race, and Vietnam in the 1960s, the old certitudes he articulated and the old virtues he personified held a magnetic attraction for a people bewildered by what was happening to their country. When he spoke, he took us to a higher ground, above petty and partisan squabbles and divisions, where we could dream and be one people again.
Doug Bandow â âAmerican Realistâ
Reagan passionately believed in the importance of ideas and husbanded rather than squandered Americaâs credibility. When Ronald Reagan left office the U.S. truly did stand tall, a far cry from its status today as an isolated, distrusted giant. President Reagan likely would have been horrified: the U.S. initiating war on a lie and then finding itself caught in an unnecessary guerrilla war that has made the West less secure and America more hated by more people than at any point in its history.
Daniel McCarthy â âGetting Reagan Rightâ
The Reagan I Knew could just as fairly have been called The Reagan I Didnât Know, for after a 40-year friendship, Buckley suddenly realized he had misjudged the man. At National Reviewâs 30th-anniversay gala in 1985, he toasted the then-president as the consummate cold warrior: âWhat I said in as many words, dressed up for the party, was that Reagan would, if he had to, pull the nuclear trigger,â writes Buckley. âTwenty years after saying that, in the most exalted circumstance, in the presence of the man I was talking about, I changed my mind.âRichard Gamble â âHow Right Was Reagan?â
Reaganâs speeches abounded with themes that were anything but conservative. He aligned the Republican crusader more closely with Americaâs expansive liberal temperament. In particular, his brand of evangelical Christianity, combined with fragments of Puritanism, enlightenment optimism, and romantic liberalism, set Reagan apart in key ways from historic conservatism.
Also, here is Jack Hunter’s video on Reagan:
Jack Hunter, as always — is spot on.
So, with Reagan, it was a mixed bag. As the comments section over at @TAC says:
A great actor in his greatest role. On balance, during his tenure, taxes increased, inflation increased, government employment increased, the debt increased, the power of government increased yet he made you feel good about it. He âtalked the talkâ but didnât âwalk the walk.â As to the last few years of his 2nd Administration,I think he was in a different world. Yet, all in all,you couldnât help like the guy and the way he made you feel proud to be an American.
However, for the record; I think it is important to note, what really caused the collapse of the Soviet Empire — It sure was not Ronald Reagan. I mean, the man gave a speech in free Germany and automatically, Reagan brought down the Soviet Union. Which, of course, is foolishness. Reagan no more brought down that Soviet Empire, than George W. Bush defeated Al-Qaeda.
While I did admire Ron Reagan for his speaking ability and his ability to lead; as a Paleo-Conservative or as I like call it — a real Conservative — I will say, Reagan was by no means perfect.

Post updated to reflect differences between legit complaints with Reagan and liberal talking points.
Update: As Always Ed Morrissey offers a “Rose Colored Glasses” version of the history of Reagan. ....and as usual the commenters over there are stupidly comparing that feckless train wreak of a media whore to President Reagan; which is sick, if you ask me. đ

Idiot Charles Johnson clone. Your traffic is not wanted here; so, quit linking to me. đĄ
Friends like that, I can live without.
I have been meaning to write about this for a few days; but there were other things to write about and this one got cast aside.
I was going to put this one under the whole “Living Proof that liberals are classless assholes” banner. But this one just was just too great, too awful, too nasty.
It appears that Keith Olbermann has some sort of inbred hatred of our United States Military. Now why would I make such a wild accusation as that? For this reason:
Ed Driscoll, who is a Vietnam Vet wrote the following about Keith Olbermann in the Boston Globe:
I AM very happy that Keith Olbermann is no longer on MSNBC. I participated in more than 10 combat missions in Vietnam, so I know a mission is not a war. Someone should have told that to Olbermann, as he demonstrated his ignorance by equating the two for years on his show.
He would end by saying it has been so many days since President Bush declared âMission Accomplishedââ in Iraq. Bush never said that. Olbermann was referring to a sign on an aircraft carrier that said âMission Accomplished.ââ The president declared an end to major combat operations, and therefore the aircraft carrier was headed home.
In Bushâs speech, he said that much work has yet to be done. The sign was for the brave people who had completed their mission.
Olbermann can take the money and run. I donât care where.
A gentle ribbing towards someone who, if anyone, had the right to say that; after all he was a military officer. Well, not to Keith, who hates anything remotely Military — this was his response: (H/T Nice Deb)

How Keith REALLY feels about our Military
That’s right, Keith believes that people that serve in our Military are dumb. This goes along with the whole mentality that whole idea, by the so-called enlightened liberals that most Military people are simple minded Conservatives who are too stupid to think for themselves. You see, Keith does not have his network bosses to answer to any longer, so, now he can spew his far leftist hatred of all things American; including our Military.
As some of you know and you can know this by searching this blog; I used to hold Keith Olbermann in very high regard. I was, at one point, a regular watcher of Keith’s show. That is, until he started with the intellectual dishonesty and straight up lying about everything under the sun. Well, writing about something is not enough, one must put their money where their mouth is.
So, as of this morning. I have removed the one book that Keith Olbermann wrote off of my Blog’s Bookstore. Unfortunately, I could not remove the one book itself. I had to remove the sections about George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. Most of it was filled with Anti-Bush and Anti-Cheney books anyhow. I realize that it might not be that big of a deal, not many people buy anything from my Bookstore anyhow. However, with me. It is a personal decision; that I just will not support someone, who is taken to insulting our Military. This is a personal issue with me; it always has been, as I have had family members who served. This is why I have “Lost my shit”, so to speak, in the past, when people have insulted the Military in the Paleo-Conservative circles.
So, Keith, if you happened to even read this; You sir, are history in my book. You just do not insult Military officers, whether active or inactive. Not around me at least. You sir, are no better than the anti-war protesters in the 1960’s who spat upon and mocked the soldiers coming out of Vietnam. In fact, your little smart-assed tweet was, as far as this writer is concerned; was in fact, a virtual spit in the face of a Solider who served proudly in our Military.
For this sir, you are remanded to dustbin of history, as far as I am concerned. You sir are just another Anti-American socialist, who happened to get rich by spewing your lies and bigotry — all the while railing against the very capitalist system that made you rich. Which is a picture perfect example of the blatant hypocrisy of the liberal left. I do hope that you enjoy that money, that in all honesty, you do not deserve to own; and if you just happen to get lucky enough to land another job as a talking head somewhere else. I will be here to blog against your idiotic nonsense. Because as a former “Left of Center,” I am appalled to where you and your communist-lite friends have taken the party that my grandparents and parents voted and still do vote for.
Further more, I find your attacks against our Military sickening and I will be one of many, who will continue to attack you, for your idiotic political viewpoints; until you finally retire and eventually die relieving this Nation of your moronic bombast and empty headed pontifications.
I may be only a small cog in this machine that we call America; but I am a damned good one!
So, liberals — is this what you call civility?
Posted on liveleak, in case it disappears:
From the Comments section of the video:
RACISTS like this, are begging for war. Let’s give them one. It is 220,000,000 white people, against 37,000,000 blacks. You know what a genocide looks like? You don’t, because there is no one left, to remember it. Be? smart, though. Let them, make the first violent moves. Let the people, see their violence. Let them give us a reason. Be patient. Do not move, as an individual. Wait. Keep giving them rope, they need, to hang themselves. LOL!!!

(H/T Michelle Malkin)
I saw this headline earlier and wanted to write on it.
Jazz Shaw, who writes over at HotAir and on various other sites, reports the following which was reported over at The Washington Post:
WASHINGTON — Nearly two-thirds of cars on the road could have more corn-based ethanol in their fuel tanks under an Environmental Protection Agency decision Friday.
The agency said that 15 percent ethanol blended with gasoline is safe for cars and light-duty trucks manufactured between 2001 and 2006, expanding an October decision that the higher blend is safe for cars built since 2007.The maximum gasoline blend has been 10 percent ethanol.
Jazz Shaw reports:
This decision was made despite repeated warnings from industry experts who have been pleading for more time to perform exhaustive testing. Were they being overly cautious? Thatâs a difficult argument to make, particularly since we told you last month that one delay in testing came from the fact that the higher ethanol blend fuel was melting down the seals in pumps and storage tanks during testing.
The laundry list of potential problems from this decision is extensive. Asking distributors to carry yet another fuel (even if it doesnât melt their pumps) will require logistical juggling, equipment changes, new signs and other expenses which are inevitably passed on down to the consumer. Ethanol burns hotter than conventional fuel, leading to earlier failure of catalytic converters. (An expensive fix, as any of you who have been hit with it at the garage will attest.)
All of this is still being pushed under the cloak of a more environmentally friendly solution to energy challenges, a claim which current science has increasingly put in doubt. But would it at least produce any type of savings as we fight to get the budget under control?
Well, not so much so says Craig Cox of the Environmental Working Group:
Rather than furthering his goal to make America âthe first country to have a million electric vehicles on the road by 2015,â however, Obamaâs focus on biofuels as the way âto break our dependence on oilâ would have the opposite effect if it means sending billions more taxpayers dollars to corn country to finance ethanol infrastructure, Cox said. âBuilding an ethanol infrastructure at taxpayerâs expense will just lock us further into the past rather than lead us to tomorrowâs energy future,â added Cox, who heads EWGâs Ames, Iowa, office.
Jazz makes a very, very, very, very good point here:
This is clearly a victory for King Corn, but lies in stark contrast to the Presidentâs stated goals of Winning the Future. Exit question: Even if gas stations manage to offer this for cars built in 2001 and after, how will they ensure drivers of older vehicles donât wind up putting it in their vehicles without retooling the entire delivery system?
Good question. I can see the lawsuits coming now. The first idiot that accidentally puts the corn-laced fuel into an older vehicle and tears the snot out of his engine; and ends up suing the gas station, the fuel delivery company and the oil company that produced the product and comes away with a few million dollars — will cause this little program to be stopped in it’s tracks. Think it would not happen? Think again; there are tons and I do mean TONS of lawyers out there, that are chomping at the bit to take a lawsuit like this and make money off of it.
Updated to add: ….and there is a alternative scenario — What will happen is, some person, who is barely getting by and making minimum wage, and can barely afford a car. This person will accidentally fuel up with this Ethanol laced gas, it will gum up his motor and the poor man will end up having to junk the car and will have scrape around for another one. That is the part that really bothers me. The fact that liberals are so damned hell-bent on fulfilling an agenda that they do not think of all of the possibilities — and because of that, someone out there, not necessarily someone of means; gets screwed in the end. That my friends is the sad part.
Just another example of your feckless Government at work. đ
