Video: Bill O’Reilly on Obama and the Jewish Voters

Whether my fellow Paleo-Conservatives and Traditionalists want to admit it, or not; the Jewish vote, is a big one. Obama might have just shot his own damned foot off. This, for the Republican Party, is a very good thing.

All that glitters is Gold…… Roger Ailes?

An interesting story…. if true.

What I am referring to, is the seven page opus, by a Gabriel Sherman at New York Magazine. It is an interesting read, if it is all remotely true.  As an independent “Right of Center” type person, one of my biggest quibbles with these pieces that are done by non-right wing media sites about News Corp/Fox News Channel is that the best information about the inner workings of the Fox News are often given by anonymous people. I fully understand the reasoning for it, to protect jobs and so forth; but my goodness, if you are going to dish on the good stuff; have the guts to at least say your name.

This is one thing that has always annoyed me to no end, is people who gossip and do not have the guts to let people know their identity.  I guess what  am trying to say is, that if you are going to dish the dirt, be a Man or a Woman and tell people who the heck you are, or just shut the hell up. Because the truth is, you are most likely lying, because you are pissed off, because Roger Ailes did not give you the raise that you wanted or something rather idiotic of that nature.

A sampling of the first two paragraphs:

On Monday afternoon, March 28, Fox News chairman Roger Ailes summoned Glenn Beck to a meeting in his office on the second floor of News Corp.’s midtown headquarters to discuss his future at the network. Ailes had spent the better part of the weekend at his Putnam County estate thinking about how to stage-manage Beck’s departure from Fox, which at that point was all but inevitable. But, as with everything concerning Glenn Beck, the situation was a mess, simultaneously a negotiation and a therapy session. Beck had already indicated he was willing to walk away—“I don’t want to do cable news anymore,” he had told Ailes. But moving him out the door without collateral damage was proving , dandifficult.

Ailes had hired Beck in October 2008 to reenergize Fox’s audience after Obama’s election, and he’d succeeded beyond anyone’s wildest hopes, tapping deep wells of resentment and igniting them into a vast, national conflagration. The problem was that it had almost engulfed Fox itself. Beck was huge and uncontrollable, and some of Fox’s other big names seemed diminished by comparison—and were speaking up about it. Beck seemed to many to be Fox News’s id made visible, saying things—Obama is a racist, Nazi tactics are progressive tactics—dredged from the right-wing subconscious. These were things that weren’t supposed to be said, even at Fox, and they were consuming the brand. Ailes had built his career by artfully tending the emotional undercurrents of both politics and entertainment, using them to power ratings and political careers; now they were out of his control. — Go read the rest here please…

It has the typical Conservative elements of a Conservative story, Image, Wealth, Egos and Power. Typical television stuff. It makes for an interesting read.

Anybody who threatens Amy Myers is NOT a true Conservative

There are not many times, that I feel the need to fire up my copy of Microsoft Word to write blog opinion pieces.  However, considering what I just read; I feel that writing anything other, than a professional sounding blog entry for this young woman; would be doing a disservice to her and her family.

As of late, there has been a gnawing cynism, which has been festering inside of me.  It is the thought that politics has become too partisan, too toxic, and almost too unbearable to write about any longer.  After all, it has been said by many people, that politics is like an open smelly sewer.  It is when I read things like this, that I begin to have those feelings of defeatist cynism very strongly.  This story has to be, one of the worst, if not the worst political story that I have read in a very long time:

Sad News: WWE Star Macho Man Randy Savage dead at age 58

This is just awful:

Randy Savage Car Accident Dead

Randall Mario Poffo AKA Macho Man Randy Savage -November 15, 1952 – May 20, 2011

Macho Man Randy Savage — one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time — died today in a car accident in Tampa, Florida … TMZ has learned.

TMZ spoke with Randy’s brother, Lanny Poffo, who tells us the wrestling legend suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 9:25 AM … and lost control of his vehicle.

Earlier this month, Savage celebrated his 1-year anniversary with his new wife Lynn.

Savage was 58.

Macho Man began wrestling in the WWF in 1985 and became a superstar with his trademark catchphrase “Ooooooh Yeaahhhhh.” Savage was so popular, he became the spokesperson for Slim Jim in the mid ’90s … and became virtually synonymous with the brand.

UPDATE: Florida Highway Patrol tells TMZ … Savage was driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler when he veered across a concrete median … through oncoming traffic … and “collided head-on with a tree.”

Savage was transported to Largo Medical center, where he died from his injuries.

Savage’s wife was a passenger in the vehicle during the collision — but survived with “minor injuries.” She was transported to a different local hospital where she was treated.

Such a sad story. The man never had a real chance to enjoy the success that he achieved. I used to watch this guy and Hulk Hogan when I was a kid in the 1980’s. I always knew it was fake. But just the same, I did always think it was kinda cool. The wrestling world just got a little darker and less fun; at least in this writer’s opinion.

May he rest in peace and my prayers to his new wife and family during this terrible time.

Quote of the Week

Obama is the one they ought to be blackballing. He has been a terrible disappointment to the American left. He has forsaken liberals at every turn. Yet they continue to stand by him. Which means that, in effect, they are not liberals at all. They are militant Democrats. They are Obamabots.

As long as Democrats win elections, they are happy. Nevermind that their policies are the same as, or to the right of, the Republicans.

“So what should I think about [the war in Libya]?,” asks Kevin Drum in Mother Jones. “If it had been my call, I wouldn’t have gone into Libya. But the reason I voted for Obama in 2008 is because I trust his judgment. And not in any merely abstract way, either: I mean that if he and I were in a room and disagreed about some issue on which I had any doubt at all, I’d literally trust his judgment over my own. I think he’s smarter than me, better informed, better able to understand the consequences of his actions, and more farsighted.”

Mr. Drum, call your office. Someone found your brain in the break room.

Barack Obama and the Democrats have made it perfectly clear that they don’t care about the issues and concerns that I care about. Unlike Kevin Drum, I think–I know–I’m smarter than Barack Obama. I wouldn’t have made half the mistakes he has.

So I don’t care about Obama. Or the Democrats. I care about America and the world and the people who live in them.

Hey, Obamabots: when the man you support betrays your principles, he has to go–not your principles.

“Hey! Don’t be dissing my liberal President!” Says Jeffrey Goldberg at the Atlantic

What a freaking joke….

For whatever reason, I tend to react strongly when a foreign leader disrespects the United States, and its President. I didn’t like it when Hugo Chavez of Venezuela insulted President Bush; I don’t like listening to Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan lecture the U.S. on its sins, and I’m not happy when certain Pakistani leaders gin-up righteous indignation about American behavior when it was their country that served as a refuge for the greatest mass murderer in American history.

And so I was similarly taken aback when I read a statement from Prime Minister Netanyahu yesterday that he “expects to hear a reaffirmation from President Obama of U.S. commitments made to Israel in 2004, which were overwhelmingly supported by both House of Congress.”

[….}

Of course, he didn’t say this. Instead he threw something of a hissy fit. It was not appropriate, and more to the point, it was not tactically wise: If I’m waking up this morning feeling that the Israeli prime minister is disrespecting the President of my country, imagine how other Americans might be feeling. And, then, of course, there’s this: Prime Minister Netanyahu needs the support of President Obama in order to confront the greatest danger Israel has ever faced: the potential of a nuclear-armed Iran. And yet he seems to go out of his way to alienate the President. Why does he do this? It’s a mystery to me.

via Dear Mr. Netanyahu, Please Don’t Speak to My President That Way – Jeffrey Goldberg – National – The Atlantic.

Gee, I wonder if he felt that way, when George W. Bush was President? I highly doubt it.  Despite that during the George W. Bush administration’s term, there were no more terrorist attacks after 9/11 and that Bush had one the greatest relationships with Israel  —- despite all that; Bush was treated like dirt and mocked by this man’s magazine as a hick, who could not run the White House. Disrespecting Bush was no problem, after all, he was the “Great Satan” in the White House, no problem speaking disrespectful to him!  But, please, no disrespecting “The One!”

This is your typical partisan double standard in the liberal media. When a Republican is in the White House, the liberal media and Presidents of other Countries can disrespect them all day long and not one person in the Lame Stream Media will say a word. But you let a Democrat get elected, much less a Black Democrat President and the rules change you see; will be no disrespecting of the black messiah of socialism and statist big Government.

This here and a litany of other reasons that I have well documented here; is why I will never, ever, vote for a Democratic Party Candidate, ever again. Because American deserves better than what we have in the White House now, and further more, American deserves a better media than what the lame stream media is giving us. This is why I actually do watch Fox News and read publications like National Review, The American Conservative, WorldNetDaily, NewsWithViews and many of the other Conservative publications and it is also the reason I read blogs and run a Blog myself. Because quite frankly, America deserves better than the idiotic bile that passes for news and fair political opinion in this Country.

Update: I no sooner hit publish and I realize, I forgot something. Oops! I wrote this; not as a Bush fan. I never was, in fact, I did not vote for him, either time. In fact, it was Bush’s handling of Iraq that started me to blogging. But, some things got well beyond whether someone is liked or not. This is one of them and I feel the need to point it out.

Peter Fonda said WHAT?!

WHOA! 😯

This comes Via AFP:

Peter Fonda not one to beat around the, um, Bush?

CANNES, France — Peter Fonda launched a four-letter attack on US President Barack Obama at the Cannes film festival on Wednesday, calling him a traitor over the handling of the aftermath of the Gulf oil spill.

The star of the 1969 road movie “Easy Rider” was in Cannes for the premiere of “The Big Fix” by Rebecca and Josh Tickell, the only feature documentary in the official selection at the Cannes film festival this year.

Fonda — a keen environmentalist and co-producer of the film which centres on the explosion of the BP oil rig Deepwater Horizon, the ensuing spill and its consequences — accused Washington of trying to gag reporting on the issue.

“I sent an email to President Obama saying, ‘You are a f(expletive) traitor,’ using those words… ‘You’re a traitor, you allowed foreign boots on our soil telling our military — in this case the coastguard — what they can and could not do, and telling us, the citizens of the United States, what we could or could not do’.”

Fonda, who said he sent the email last week, appears in “The Big Fix” trying to get on to Louisiana beaches to assess the impact of the biggest oil spill in US history, only to be turned away by BP clean-up personnel.

Speaking at a press event at the American Pavilion to promote the film, Fonda denounced BP as “a bunch of Brits — I thought we kicked them out a long time ago. They tried to get back in in 1812, but they didn’t make it.”

I am in awe. It is not everyday that you see a Hollywood type say stuff like that. Good show. I think you will see more of this, as the Hollywood types figure out what President Obama is about.

UPDATED: An Open Message to Pamela Geller

In response to this

——

Pamela Geller, As a Fundamentalist Christian. I am sorry to say this, but, it must be said.

It is quite obvious to me, that you are nothing more, than an Anti-Christian Jewish Bigot. I am not a Roman Catholic, nor do I agree with that belief system; in fact, I renounce it as false Christianity. But for you to slam the Christian belief system of forgiveness, shows that you have an inbred hatred of all things Non-Jewish. Charles Johnson was right, you are nothing but a hatemonger.

The sad thing is, I have defended you, when I thought you needed it. I now regret that decision.

Jesus Christ came to die on the cross at Calvary to put and END to that dead man’s Religion of Judaism; which was a total perversion of the Law of Moses, which you Jews turned into a money-making operation. In fact, Jesus said in the Gospels, “My house shall be called a house of PRAYER and you have turned it into a DEN OF THIEVES!” Not much has changed either, the Jews are still doing that to this very day.

I thought you were better than this Miss Geller, I guess I was wrong.

I posted it to the comments section, and she will most likely remove it, like the little coward that she is; which will not surprise me at all.

I’m sorry, but you do not slam Christianity like that and get away with it; I do not care what your ethnic background is, you do it, I am coming after you. Jew or non-Jew. It’s absurd and I am calling her out on this one. I want an apology on that blog of hers or I will continue to call out her hate.

After all, who is it, that is always calling out Muslim extremists and they’re hatred of freedom, Christians, and Jews? Pamela Geller. So, why should SHE get a free pass on her hatred of Christians? She will not here, I assure you of that.

Update: I feel the need to mention something; it just dawned on me, that this is the Roman Catholic of “Prayers for the dead.” Now, do I believe in that sort of thing? No. However, because I do happen to believe in the practice of freedom of Religion, I believe that people who do believe in that sort of thing, should be able to carry on that belief and practice; without some Neo-Conservative, Jewish Fascist screeching about how horrible it is and attacking people for actually practicing their faith.  As for Osama bin Laden, he is in hell, he chose to reject the gospel of Jesus Christ and instead embraced Islam and chose also to embrace madness of violent jihad, for this, he is in hell. Prayers for him are useless. However, those who choose to do this, should not be attacked. As that is just what the radical Jihadists do —- attack people for practicing their faith.

This is why I advocate for an armed Church Congregation

This video comes via The Blaze:

My friends, I believe that the video that you have just watched is a sign of things to come.  I believe that before the great and glorious rapture of the Church comes; there will be events like this taking place in Church, of all denominations around the United States and abroad.

This reason above, as shown in this video is why I advocate, and firmly believe that ALL Churches and their members should be owners, active users, and carriers of firearms.  There is a book that supports my feelings about this, and that book is called ”Shooting Back: The Right and Duty of Self-defense” and it is written by By Charl Van Wyk. I very highly recommend that you buy this book and read it.  Because frankly, I believe that we are headed towards dangerous times here in America.  For us to remain passive about personal defense in the House of the Lord would be foolish.

Get this book and arm yourselves, today.

Sad News: The End of an Era – Jerry Lewis to quit hosting annual telethon

This such sad news:

(Reuters) – Veteran entertainer Jerry Lewis said on Monday he is retiring as host of the annual Labor Day telethon for muscular dystrophy research after 45 years and will make his final appearance on the U.S. show in September.

Lewis, 85, the zany comedian and actor who starred in more than 45 films in a career spanning five decades, made the announcement in a statement posted by the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), on its website.

“As a labor of love, I’ve hosted the annual telethon since 1966, and I’ll be making my final appearance on the show this year by performing my signature song, “You’ll Never Walk Alone,'” he said in the statement.

Lewis has turned the ballad from the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical “Carousel” into an anthem for MDA by performing it at the conclusion of each telethon over the years.

Lewis did not say why he was retiring at this stage, but an MDA spokesman said the comedian’s departure coincided with a change in the program’s format from a 21 1/2-hour telethon to a six-hour broadcast centered around prime time.

“We needed to change the format for our show, and we’re creating a new telethon era now,” the spokesman, Jim Brown, told Reuters.

“We’re very, very thankful that Jerry Lewis is performing ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone,'” he said. “He is a world-class humanitarian, and no-one rivals him in terms of his commitment to the cause.”

Lewis said he would continue to serve as national MDA chairman, adding, “I’ll never desert MDA and my kids.”

via Jerry Lewis to quit hosting annual telethon | Reuters.

The reason why this strikes me as being very sad is this; Jerry Lewis harkens back to an era when Hollywood still had morals and when people could actually act. Jerry Lewis is a moral human being and they just do not build them like that man anymore. Those MDA telethons will not be the same anymore, especially when they go to show that grand total. 🙁

God Bless Jerry in his retirement.

UPDATEDBreaking News: The Donald is not running for President

Whew.

The Donald is not running.

Unconfirmed reports say that Charles Krauthammer was spotting on the ledge of a building in NYC, with people begging him not to jump.

Full Statement via ABC NEWS:

After considerable deliberation and reflection, I have decided not to pursue the office of the Presidency. This decision does not come easily or without regret; especially when my potential candidacy continues to be validated by ranking at the top of the Republican contenders in polls across the country. I maintain the strong conviction that if I were to run, I would be able to win the primary and ultimately, the general election. I have spent the past several months unofficially campaigning and recognize that running for public office cannot be done half heartedly. Ultimately, however, business is my greatest passion and I am not ready to leave the private sector.

I want to personally thank the millions of Americans who have joined the various Trump grassroots movements and written me letters and e-mails encouraging me to run. My gratitude for your faith and trust in me could never be expressed properly in words. So, I make you this promise: that I will continue to voice my opinions loudly and help to shape our politician’s thoughts.  My ability to bring important economic and foreign policy issues to the forefront of the national dialogue is perhaps my greatest asset and one of the most valuable services I can provide to this country.  I will continue to push our President and the country’s policy makers to address the dire challenges arising from our unsustainable debt structure and increasing lack of global competitiveness.  Issues, including getting tough on China and other countries that are methodically and systematically taking advantage of the United States, were seldom mentioned before I brought them to the forefront of the country’s conversation. They are now being debated vigorously. I will also continue to push for job creation, an initiative that should be this country’s top priority and something that I know a lot about. I will not shy away from expressing the opinions that so many of you share yet don’t have a medium through which to articulate.

I look forward to supporting the candidate who is the most qualified to help us tackle our country’s most important issues and am hopeful that, when this person emerges, he or she will have the courage to take on the challenges of the Office and be the agent of change that this country so desperately needs

Thank you and God Bless America!

Donald J. Trump

There are also unconfirmed reports that President Barack Obama blurted out, “That Mother $%#$!” when he was told about the news.

Please note: This quotes and news tidbits are fictional ones and intended to be humorous. So, please, don’t be silly and actually use them for news broadcasts. 😀

Update: Saith Ed Morrissey:

So it’s the old I’d totally win if I cared enough to compete explanation, eh?   That’s not what the latest polls showed.

Update #2: Random Thought: Hmmmmm.. He got the Birth Certificate, but did not get the Bin Laden Photos; he’d make a lousy President.

Update #3: Michelle Malkin Snarks on Twitter:

Pro-govt bailout, pro-porkulus, pro-Obamacare redistributionist won’t run for prez. Trump realizes he’s a redundancy.

And the real funny one from Malkin:

Now, if only Trump could fire Newt…

Honestly, I really already knew that this was going to happen. In fact, I even wrote as such:

AllahPundit is also correct, when he says that “The Donald” is playing that “Birther” group like a fiddle for purposes of political expediency. If it becomes clear that Trump is going to run; he will drop that subject like a bad habit. You watch.

Well, I was right  —- sort of.  I thought Donald Trump might actually try to run. However, what I think is this; Some political strategist most likely told him that he was not polling that well and he decided against it. Instead, he forced the Brither thing and dropped back into the private sector.

So, there’s that. Now for the 2012 dollar question; who the heck is going to run, that I would actually vote for?

Change: Obama Says “Drill baby Drill”!

The Video:

Flashback!:

So much for that, eh?

Reality sets in:

WASHINGTON – In this week’s address, President Obama laid out his strategy to continue to expand responsible and safe domestic oil production, leveraging existing authorities as part of his long-term plan to reduce our reliance on foreign oil. He is directing the Department of the Interior to conduct annual lease sales in Alaska’s National Petroleum Reserve – while respecting sensitive areas, to speed up the evaluation of oil and gas resources in the mid and south Atlantic, and to create new incentives for industry to develop their unused leases both on and offshore. Also, to give companies more time to meet higher safety standard for exploration and drilling, the administration is extending drilling leases in areas of the Gulf of Mexico that were impacted by the temporary moratorium, as well as certain leases off the coast of Alaska. And, he is establishing a new interagency working group to ensure that Arctic development projects meet health, safety and environmental standards. The past few months, rising gas prices have put an added strain on American families. While there are no quick fixes to the problem, these are steps, along with eliminating taxpayer subsidies for oil companies and rooting out fraud and manipulation in the markets, that are worth taking.

via Weekly Address: President Obama Announces New Plans to Increase Responsible Domestic Oil Production | The White House.

$4.00 a gallon gas and people are getting ticked; including his base. So, he quits with the cute silly liberal answers and starts back to drilling. Ed Morrissey says, “Nice try, but no.”

Quoting Ed Morrissey:

In fact, most of this action deals with extensions for existing leases, rather than new drilling. Instead of approving extension requests individually, Obama will issue blanket one-year extensions in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico. The lease sales for the Gulf that Obama announced were supposed to take place last year. They’re not new leases. Obama did pledge to hold annual lease sales in Alaska’s North Slope area, where they had been ad hoc in the past, which is the only hint of new expansion in his remarks.

This isn’t leadership. It’s a threadbare attempt at triangulation that doesn’t add much new capacity at all, nor does it speed up the process of exploration and extraction. The White House will drag its heels on expansion of American production as long as possible; this announcement just buys Obama some time and a respite from the political fallout of high gas prices. Still, the fact that Obama had to protect himself in this manner shows how politically damaging his refusal to expand American production has become, and how damaging it will continue to be.

So, basically, Barry is trying to cover his backside and make it look like he is doing something about the high gas prices. When in all reality, the President and his Administration are simply giving political cover and lip-service to the American people. Which is what President Obama is actually pretty good at —- as long as he has his teleprompter.

Which proves what we Blogs on the right have known for three years now. That this President, who was elected more as a Black Novelty, than anything else; has no plan for this Nation’s future. Nor does have, nor does he care, about this Nation’s energy policy and its future. All he truly cares about, is his idiotic vision of progressive utopia; which is in reality, nothing but a pipe dream. Hopefully, the voters in 2012 will see this and vote accordingly.

Memeorandum Thread

I’ve heard of the IMF raping people, but…..

This?: (Memeorandum Thread Here)

The managing director of the International Monetary Fund, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, was taken off an Air France plane at Kennedy International Airport minutes before it was to depart for Paris on Saturday, in connection with the sexual attack of a maid at a Midtown Manhattan hotel, the authorities said.

Detectives are investigating the assault of a female employee of Sofitel New York, at 45 West 44th Street.

Mr. Strauss-Kahn, 62, who was widely expected to become the Socialist candidate for the French presidency, was apprehended by detectives of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in the first-class section of the jetliner, and immediately turned over to detectives from the Midtown South Precinct, officials said.

The New York Police Department arrested Mr. Strauss-Kahn at 2:15 a.m. Sunday “on charges of criminal sexual act, attempted rape, and an unlawful imprisonment in connection with a sexual assault on a 32-year-old chambermaid in the luxury suite of a Midtown Manhattan hotel yesterday” about 1 p.m., Deputy Commissioner Paul J. Browne, the department’s chief spokesman, said.

Reached by telephone, Benjamin Brafman, a lawyer, said he would be representing Mr. Strauss-Kahn with William Taylor, a lawyer in Washington.

“We have not yet been able to meet with our client and we may have more to say tomorrow,” said Mr. Brafman, who said he had been contacted late Saturday night. He said Mr. Strauss-Kahn was being housed at the police department’s Special Victims Unit.

Which proves what I have believed all my life; no matter who you are, no matter your social status — you always have those guy impulses. What matters is, what you do with those impulses. Quite obviously, this guy did something rather wrong with them.

Just rather fancy way of saying that this guy was thinking with the wrong head.

Video: Mike Huckabee: I am not running for President

First the Video and then my comments….

Video: (via Mediaite H/T to HotAir)

Alright now for my comments:

There are many people in the Republican Party, in the Conservative Movement and in the Tea Party; who happen to believe that Governor Mike Huckabee is not that strong of a Conservative. I will full admit to being one of those people, and I also happen to believe that Governor Huckabee’s wanting to turn America into a Christian Republican, as opposed to a Constitutional Republic; is just downright wrong-headed. However, as a Born-Again Christian of the 29 year vintage, I have to admire a man who will, first freely say that he is a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ on a National Network, like Fox News. Second, be willing and able to admit that he does not have the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ in his heart to run as President of the United States.

I wish Governor Mike Huckabee and his entire family the very best; and I hope that the Lord Jesus Christ will continue to bless, prosper and keep Governor Huckabee, his wife and children and grandchildren.

GUEST VOICE: The Persecution of John Demjanjuk by Patrick J. Buchanan

The Persecution of John Demjanjuk

By Patrick J. Buchanan

Friday – May 13, 2011

“John Demjanjuk Guilty of Nazi Death Camp Murders,” ran the headline on the BBC. The lede began:

“A German court has found John Demjanjuk guilty of helping to murder more than 28,000 Jews at a Nazi death camp in Poland.”

Not until paragraph 17 does one find this jolting fact: “No evidence was produced that he committed a specific crime.”

That is correct. No evidence was produced, no witness came forward to testify he ever saw Demjanjuk injure anyone. And the critical evidence that put Demjanjuk at Sobibor came — from the KGB.

First was a KGB summary of an alleged interview with one Ignat Danilchenko, who claimed he was a guard at Sobibor and knew Demjanjuk. Second was the Soviet-supplied ID card from the Trawniki camp that trained guards.

There are major problems with both pieces of “evidence.”

First, Danilchenko has been dead for a quarter of a century, no one in the West ever interviewed him, and Moscow stonewalled defense requests for access to the full Danilchenko file. His very existence raises a question.

How could a Red Army soldier who turned collaborator and Nazi camp guard survive Operation Keelhaul, which sent all Soviet POWs back to Joseph Stalin, where they were either murdered or sent to the Gulag?

As for the ID card from Trawniki, just last month there was unearthed at the National Archives in College Park, Md., a 1985 report from the Cleveland office of the FBI, which, after studying the card, concluded it was “quite likely” a KGB forgery.

“Justice is ill-served in the prosecution of an American citizen on evidence which is not only normally inadmissible in a court of law, but based on evidence and allegations quite likely fabricated by the KGB.”

This FBI report, never made public, was done just as Demjanjuk was being deported to Israel to stand trial as “Ivan the Terrible,” the murderer of Treblinka. In a sensational trial covered by the world’s press, Demjanjuk was convicted and sentenced to hang.

But after five years on death row, new evidence turned up when the Soviet Union collapsed and Russia opened up. That evidence wholly validated the claims of Demjanjuk’s defenders.

Not only had Demjanjuk never even been at Treblinka, the Soviet files contained a photograph of the real “Ivan” — a larger and older man.

To its eternal credit, the Israeli Supreme Court reversed the conviction, rejected a request to retry Demjanjuk as a camp guard elsewhere in Poland, freed him and sent him home to America.

Exposed as a laughing stock, and denounced for fraud by Ohio district and appellate courts, the Office of Special Investigations began crafting a new case, John Demjanjuk of Sobibor, to deport and try again the old man whose defense attorneys had made fools of them.

Thus the Sobibor story and Demjanjuk’s supposed complicity in the murder of 28,000 Jews — though, as the BBC notes, no one testified at the trial that they ever saw John Demjanjuk injure anyone.

Consider the life this tormented American has lived.

Born in Ukraine in 1920, as a boy he endured the Holodomor — the famine imposed on his people in 1932 and 1933 by Stalin and his hated henchman Lazar Kaganovich, which resulted in the starvation and death of somewhere between 5 million and 9 million Ukrainians.

It has been called by historians the “forgotten Holocaust.”

Conscripted into the Red Army, Demjanjuk was captured in the German blitzkrieg. Unlike American and British POWs, whom Germans regarded as racial equals, Ukrainians were untermensch who could be used for medical experiments.

Not only did Demjanjuk survive, he managed to evade the Allied order, under Keelhaul, for all Red Army POWs to be repatriated to Stalin, which was the Soviet dictator’s demand before he would return the U.S. and British POWs his troops liberated in the march to Berlin.

In the war’s aftermath, Demjanjuk married his wife Vera, who had been conscripted in the Ukraine and brought forcibly west to work in the German economy.

Thence he moved to Cleveland, became an autoworker, raised a family and practiced his Christian faith. But he made a mistake.

He sent his wife to Ukraine to tell his aged mother that he had survived the war and was living in the great United States of America.

Word got around the village. The KGB came calling. Swiftly, the payments his mother had been receiving for her war hero son were halted, and suddenly, there turned up an ID card that said John Demjanjuk had been trained at Trawniki to be a Nazi camp guard.

The KGB began feeding OSI from its “files,” as OSI began a manic persecution of Demjanjuk that has lasted 30 years.

Stalin died in bed in 1953. Kaganovich died with his family around him in Moscow in 1991. And John Demjanjuk, 91, after spending five years on death row for a crime he did not commit in a place he never was, is stateless and homeless in a Germany where veterans of the SS walk free.

That is justice — in our world.

Update on my Dad

As I reported yesterday, my Dad went in for a procedure to remove a blockage in his leg.

Well, I am very happy to report that my Dad went through it with flying colors and is kicking at the stalls to get out of the hospital!

Well, Dad cannot leave the hospital until he sees his doctor. Which will happen sometime hopefully soon today. When that happens, I will be going to get him.

My thanks to all of you, who did pray for him; especially those on twitter.

Again, thanks!
