Generational Theft Act of 2009 has been passed

It seems that the Liberal Congress and Obama are hell bent on devaluing our dollar:

Congressional Democrats overwhelmingly embraced President Obama’s ambitious and expensive agenda for the nation yesterday, endorsing a $3.5 trillion spending plan that sets the stage for the president to pursue his most far-reaching priorities.

Voting along party lines, the House and Senate approved budget blueprints that would trim Obama’s spending proposals for the fiscal year that begins in October and curtail his plans to cut taxes. The blueprints, however, would permit work to begin on the central goals of Obama’s presidency: an expansion of health-care coverage for the uninsured, more money for college loans and a cap-and-trade system to reduce gases that contribute to global warming.

The measures now move to a conference committee where negotiators must resolve differences between the two chambers, a prelude to the more difficult choices that will be required to implement Obama’s initiatives. While Democrats back the president’s vision for transforming huge sectors of the economy, they remain fiercely divided over the details.

via Congress Approves Budget – washingtonpost.com.

$3.5 trillion dollars; That’s more money than I’ll ever see in this lifetime. Spending that much money will do nothing more than devalue our dollar to the point where the simplest things will cost more than most can afford.  Ron Paul said it right in this video here; the Liberal Congress are simply trying to recreate the bubble that burst and they are simply going to try create another.

This of course will create another burst somewhere down the road that will be greater than this one. Our only hope is that someone like Mark Sanford will get in there and order the fed audited and possibly closed. Also maybe Sanford would put us back on the Gold Standard and back Austrian Economics and put this silly Keynesian economics to pasture, where it belongs.

One can only hope.

Iowa Supreme Court rules gays can marry

I know you all are expecting me to give a horrible comment on this one:

The Iowa Supreme Court this morning unanimously upheld gays’ right to marry.

“The Iowa statute limiting civil marriage to a union between a man and a woman violates the equal protection clause of the Iowa Constitution,” the justices said in a summary of their decision.

The court rules that gay marriage would be legal in three weeks, starting April 24.

The court affirmed a Polk County District Court decision that would allow six gay couples to marry.

The ruling is viewed as a victory for the gay rights movement in Iowa and elsewhere, and a setback for social conservatives who wanted to protect traditional families

via Unanimous ruling: Iowa marriage no longer limited to one man, one woman –  The Des Moines Register.

Well, Surprise. I have zero negative to say about “Gay Marriage”…..and Here’s why; I believe that morally, Homosexuality is wrong, the Bible speaks against it. If you got a problem with that, take it up with God. I’m just a messenger. However on a Constitutionality viewpoint; because I am a federalist, I believe that ALL moral issues, like Gay Marriage, Abortion, and all the rest of those “Hot Button” issues should be decided at a State level and never, ever at a Federal level.

I’m a libertarian, when it comes to this sort of stuff.  Barry Goldwater said it best, when he said, “You cannot legislate morality.” I personally believe that the WORST thing that ever happened to the Republican Party, was when the social Conservatives AKA the Conservative Christians or as Goldwater called them, the “goody two-shoes” took control of the party in 1980 under Reagan.

Do not misunderstand me here, I believe that there is a “Gay Agenda”, that is being by radical gays to change the shape of the Government. However, I also am aware of the radical “Theocratic” movement in this country as well. Both are equally as dangerous.  If it were left to the far rabid right in this country, Homosexuals would be shot dead in the streets, atheists would be hung publicly in the streets, witches would be burned at the stake, and so on.  Here’s the problem with that sort of thinking; that is exactly what is happening in Iran right now. Well, maybe not the witches part, but Homosexuals are being hung in Iran. If you ever speak out against the Koran in Iran, you could be killed.

Where am I going with all this? Here’s where; The United States of America is a tolerant nation, any sort of radicalism should not be tolerated, at all. If any of these radical fringe groups got their way, the United States of America would become just like Iran. Gay Marriage, like all issues of this sort, should decided at the state level, that is the way our Government was set up. If someone wants to become a Homosexual or wants to live that sort of a lifestyle; fine, let them. But keep the federal government out of it, please. The less centralized Government in my life, the better.

The Southern Avenger on “Steadfast Sanford”

Palin to Begich: Resign – Begich to Palin: Piss Off, Bitch!

Well, it was not exactly like that, but you get the picture:

Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska) called on Sen. Mark Begich (D-Alaska ) Thursday to step down from his seat and run in a special election in the wake of the Justice Department’s decision to drop corruption charges against former Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska). Begich narrowly defeated Stevens in 2008, a contest overshadowed by Stevens’ October conviction.

Palin’s call came after a reporter at the Fairbanks News Miner emailed her a copy of a statement by Alaska Republican Party Chairman Randy Ruedrich calling for Begich to step down.

Asked for her response, Palin simply wrote back: “I absolutely agree.”

When the reporter wrote back to confirm that Palin meant she’d like to see Begich resign in order to hold a special election, the governor responded: “Yes.”

via Palin calls for Begich’s resignation – Andy Barr – POLITICO.com.

The woman is wasting her breath anymore. She has lost so much credibility. The Democrats are not going to listen to her:

Begich issued a statement Thursday insisting that he will remain in his seat, despite Republican calls for his resignation.

“Today, with our country in a severe recession, it’s more important than ever that we have a senator focused on fixing our economy so Alaskans have the jobs they need to support their families,” he said. “That is my job in the Senate, and I’m honored to serve Alaskans for the next six years.”

Begich spokeswoman Julie Hasquat did not directly respond to Palin’s call for the senator’s resignation, instead pointing to Begich’s statement as a clear enough indication of his reaction.

“We’re not going to respond to her,” Hasquat said.

Quote of the Day

The “forgotten depression” of 1920-21 was caused by a huge increase in the money supply for President Wilson’s war. When the Fed started to tighten at war’s end, production fell 20 percent from mid-1920 to mid-1921, far more than today.

Why did we not read about that depression?

Because the much-maligned Warren Harding refused to intervene. He let businesses and banks fail and prices fall. Hence, the fever quickly broke, and we were off into “the Roaring Twenties.”

But, the Fed reverted, expanding the money supply by 55 percent, an average of 7.3 percent a year, not through an expansion of the currency, but through loans to businesses.

Thus, when the Fed tightened in the overheated economy, the Crash came, as the stock market bubble the Fed had created burst.

Herbert Hoover, contrary to the myth that he was a small-government conservative, renounced laissez-faire, raised taxes, launched public works projects, extended emergency loans to failing businesses and lent money to the states for relief programs.

Hoover did what Obama is doing.

Oops! White House Reporters call in to talk to Hillary…Get Phone Sex Operator Instead!

The Jokes write themselves:

Journalists seeking to talk a little foreign policy with high-profile Obama administration officials live from the G20 meetings in London this week were solicited for phone sex instead after ringing up the toll-free number given by the White House.

In a press release, the White House accidentally listed a sex line number for journalists seeking an “on-the-record briefing call with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and National Security Advisor Jim Jones to discuss the NATO summit.”

But after dialing, a soft-voiced female recording that was clearly not Clinton asked for a credit card number if you “feel like getting nasty.”

After several efforts to make sure that the phone number was correctly dialed, a call to the White House resulted in a corrected press release. “If you are having trouble dialing into the call, please try this number as an alternative,” and listed the international line included for reporters abroad to dial.

By this time, the conference call was already under way.

Asked for comment about this mishap, Deputy White House Press Secretary Bill Burton responded: “A corrected phone number on a press release is probably one of the stupider things FOX News has covered lately.”

Justice is Served -Blagojevich, brother and top aides indicted

One again, I have faith in our Nation’s justice system:

Former Gov. Rod Blagojevich, his brother, and a former top fundraiser were among six men indicted today on political corruption charges, the U.S. attorney’s office in Chicago announced.

In addition to Rob Blagojevich, 53, and fundraiser Christopher Kelly, 50, charged were Lon Monk, 50, a lobbyist and former Blagojevich chief of staff; John Harris, 47, also a former chief of staff to Blagojevich; and William Cellini, 74, a Springfield insider for decades.

The sweeping indictment comes four months after Blagojevich was arrested and charged with engaging in pay-to-play politics in a major federal complaint that accused him of trading state jobs, contracts and regulatory favors for campaign contributions.

Negro Kentucky Columnist Attacks Michelle Malkin

Well, it seems that the myth that Barack Hussein Obama was going to usher in a new era has been officially disproved.

Some unknown hosebag negro who thinks she can write has attacked Michelle Malkin.

Columnist Betty Beye writes:

bettybayeFlummoxed.

I don’t recall ever using that word before in a column, but it’s a great description of how some folks are behaving toward President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama…

…To be sure, the flummoxed come in all shapes, sizes and colors. There’s Rush Limbaugh, the perpetually angry white guy, and Michelle Malkin, the acidic Asian-American columnist, who has written that the mere sight of Michelle Obama on a video frightened her young son. And don’t forget Thomas Sowell, the African-American economist and syndicated columnist. All are apoplectic about Barack Obama’s rise.

First of all, Michelle Malkin is an American. You would never see here call herself a Asian-American or Philippine-American or any of that sort. She’s a true-blue American who has assimilated our culture, Unlike the Negro Liberals who want to hold on to thier African culture and want to try and change OUR culture here in America.  Of course, you would have known this; if you would have stopped eating your Cheetos and drinking your grape Kool-Aid long enough to get off your lazy butt and actually do some research on Michelle Malkin. [Fixed: thanks to commentor BayAreaPhilosopher!]

It amazes me that people like this women here, are so damned Jealous of Michelle’s success as a syndicated Columnist and Conservative Blogger, that they have to stoop to the low brow attacks.

Nothing pisses me off more than a uppity black woman with an attitude. Kind of like Michelle Obama. 🙄

Update: I know some idiot Liberal is going to read through my Blog and see this here, and most likely attack me for it.  Well, let me say this here. I wrote this article in the confrontational style that I did because of this woman’s obvious racist comments in her column. “Angry White Man?” and “Asian-American?” and even going as far to slam a fellow Black man, because he doesn’t get in line with the Liberal thought process? Isn’t that a plantation mentality? Isn’t that a facist mantality? Anyhow, I didn’t let the racist crap fly in the posting linked, because my fight with Black Liberal is not about SKIN COLOR, but about thier stupid liberalism. Period. End of Story. Fox News Busts Myth on Guns to Mexico

You know, there are times, when I tend to dislike Fox News because of their Anti-Union Bias, and I’ve been known to tell them what I thought about it too. This is not on of those times. For once, Fox News has done something to put them in my good graces. (Mark your calendars this does NOT happen often!)

You’ve heard this shocking “fact” before — on TV and radio, in newspapers, on the Internet and from the highest politicians in the land: 90 percent of the weapons used to commit crimes in Mexico come from the United States.

— Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said it to reporters on a flight to Mexico City.

— CBS newsman Bob Schieffer referred to it while interviewing President Obama.

— California Sen. Dianne Feinstein said at a Senate hearing: “It is unacceptable to have 90 percent of the guns that are picked up in Mexico and used to shoot judges, police officers and mayors … come from the United States.”

— William Hoover, assistant director for field operations at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, testified in the House of Representatives that “there is more than enough evidence to indicate that over 90 percent of the firearms that have either been recovered in, or interdicted in transport to Mexico, originated from various sources within the United States.”

There’s just one problem with the 90 percent “statistic” and it’s a big one:

It’s just not true.

In fact, it’s not even close. By all accounts, it’s probably around 17 percent.

via The Myth of 90 Percent: Only a Small Fraction of Guns in Mexico Come From U.S. — FOXNews.com.

I knew something stunk to the high heavens on that story that was being told. Good on Fox News for reporting the truth on this story. 😀

How to really stop a G20 Protester

It seems that London is having a bit of a G20 Protester problem.

Via Times of London:

Anti-capitalist protesters broke into a branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland in Central London today as police used dogs and truncheons in an increasingly desperate attempt to control rioting on the eve of the G20 summit.

Windows were smashed and a group of demonstrators whose faces were covered by bandanas entered the building near the Bank of England, on the corner of Threadneedle Street and Bartholomew Lane.

As officers pushed protesters back, Scotland Yard said a series of officers entered the RBS building just after 2pm “in support of building security”.

With the standoff continuing, office furniture was being thrown out of the building’s window. Hundreds of protesters cheered as a blue office chair was used to smash one of the blacked-out branch windows.

Senator Ted Steven’s Conviction Voided

There is a bunch of discussion in the Blogosphere regarding the voiding of the conviction of Alaskan Senator Ted Stevens.  I do have an opinion on this, I will share it after the quote.

Via NPR:

The Justice Department on Wednesday asked a federal judge to drop all charges against former Sen. Ted Stevens of Alaska.

A jury convicted Stevens last fall of seven counts of lying on his Senate disclosure form in order to conceal $250,000 in gifts from an oil industry executive and other friends. Stevens was the longest-serving Republican in the Senate. However, he lost his bid for an eighth full term in office just days after he was convicted. Since then, charges of prosecutorial misconduct have delayed his sentencing and prompted defense motions for a new trial.

In a move first reported by NPR, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said he has decided to drop the case against Stevens rather than continue to defend the conviction in the face of persistent problems stemming from the actions of prosecutors.

There have been some very idiotic accusations by those on the far right, that this was a political move and that the Democrats somehow or another wanted this guy out and so on.  There’s only one little problem with that. These charges were not level by the Justice Department under Eric Holder. They were issued by the Justice Department under Michael B. Mukasey, who of course, served at the behest of George W. Bush.  Not to mention that there was some serious misconduct by some of persons involved, like the FBI and the prosecutors.

So, while it might be easy and convenient to blame the Democrats for this, I am quite afraid that those accusations are not founded in the truth. This was another one of the disasters, that was part of the rather sad process that was known as the Bush White House; and once again Obama’s White House is left to clean up the mess.

So, while as much as I dislike the Democratic Party’s Socialist Agenda; which is being implemented by the Obama Administration. I cannot sit here accuse the Democrats of something, that they had zero to do with.  That would be abject foolishness, of which I want nothing to do with.

Memo to Fox News: Kiss my Detroit Ass!

Oy. I swear, no wonder Fox News’s ratings are in the damned toilet.

In forcing the resignation of General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner, President Obama said he was seeking a fresh start, a “new vision and new direction,” for the beleaguered automaker.

But some critics are questioning why the president of the United Auto Workers union didn’t meet the same fate, to signal a fresh start on the other side of the bargaining table.

Even though UAW President Ron Gettelfinger argues that his workers have made significant concessions in recent years, critics say Gettelfinger should have gone the way of Wagoner — whose ouster could be seen as the final judgment for GM’s pursuit of gas-guzzling SUVs at a time when foreign manufacturers were winning over their customers with fuel-efficient cars.

“Every bad thing you can think a union can do, the United Auto Workers did,” said Kevin Hassett, the director of Economic Policy Studies at the American Enterprise Institute.

Hassett said Gettelfinger presided over negotiations that kept the auto giant burdened with costly benefits programs and protected higher-paid, long-term employees from the cutbacks set in place for new workers.

This cross-country sampling of conservative talk show hosts from Florida, Iowa, Colorado and California confronts the best-selling author on her repeated defense of those implementing homosexual marriage and tax-funded abortion.

More than just the title of her new best-seller, Guilty, may also describe Ann Coulter herself, according to American RTL president and Columbine dad Brian Rohrbough. “If she wants him elected, Ann Coulter will try to cover up a politician’s aggressive attacks on children and the family, it seems the only prerequisite is an R after his name.”

“Coulter can answer soft-ball criticism from the left,” says ARTL vice president and former Colorado Republican party chairman Steve Curtis, “but she always has ‘to run’ when Christian journalists document her misinformation and ask for a correction?” The Ann Coulter Hang-Ups shows Coulter repeatedly punting and ending interviews instead of answering valid questions.

Is the Obama Administration letting G.M.’s New C.E.O. do it’s dirty work for them?

Full Disclosure: My Father is a Retired General Motors Worker and U.A.W. Member.

——-

It sure as heck looks that way to me here.

The reason I ask this question is because a new report from CNBC that the new C.E.O. of GM is essentially saying that bankruptcy is the only option:

General Motors’s new chief executive told CNBC that filing for Bankruptcy may be the best option for the struggling automaker.

In a taped interview to be aired tonight on NBC Nightly News, Fritz Henderson said that because of greater demands from the Obama administration to restructure, GM is considering the bankruptcy option. The auto giant previously had ruled out such a move, saying it would discourage people from buying GM cars.

Henderson’s comments came after President Obama bluntly rejected turnaround plans by GM and Chrysler and demanded that both companies make fresh concessions in order to get more federal aid.

Henderson, who was GM’s president and chief operating officer, was named the new CEO after the government forced the resignation of CEO Rick Wagoner on Sunday. GM’s board is also being restructured.

Henderson told reporters that the company would still prefer to restructure outside of court, but the level of support Washington is offering would help the company quickly restructure through bankruptcy.

Henderson says GM  needs to work faster and go deeper to get more concessions from bondholders and the United Auto Workers union. President Obama has demanded that GM come up with a better restructuring plan in 60 days in order to qualify for more government aid.

I find it very interesting that President Obama, instead of doing the dirty deed himself, ousted the CEO of G.M. and basically has let the new G.M. head honcho be his fall guy for basically screwing the bond holders and also the unions. This way, Barry comes off clean. It is a strategy that is quite slick, quite risky; but none the less slick.

The Wall Street Journal has more:

Inside a windowless, ornate room Thursday just across from the Oval Office, President Barack Obama and a group of senior economic advisers began the job of remaking the American automobile industry.

The first order of business: Oust General Motors Corp. Chief Executive Rick Wagoner.

It “wasn’t the hardest decision,” said one government official.

Steven Rattner, a former investment banker who is heading the administration’s auto restructuring; chief economic adviser Lawrence Summers; and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner were among those gathered around the polished wood table of the Roosevelt Room in the White House’s West Wing. They were there to decide under what conditions the government would continue to prop up once-powerful Detroit car companies GM and Chrysler LLC.

In the post-World War II boom, they were at the pinnacle of a quintessentially American industry. At Thursday’s meeting, once the Obama administration concluded the pair were running out of money, their effective dismantling began.

Beyond seeking Mr. Wagoner’s resignation, the officials also gave failing grades to GM and Chrysler for the restructuring plans they submitted to the government Feb. 17. They also set a deadline — one month for Chrysler, two months for GM — after which the government might force a bankruptcy restructuring of both companies and break up two of America’s business icons.

Many of GM’s problems didn’t start during Mr. Wagoner’s term, and most predate the economic downturn that sent car sales slumping, such as union contracts and the costs of paying for retiree health care. GM made a bad situation worse with huge bets on trucks and SUVs that piled up on dealer lots amid soaring gas prices last year.

While I will be the first to tell you, that General Motors has had its own share of issues. What Barack Obama did to G.M. and by proxy to the Union members and Employees of the company; was just flat out cowardly. Instead of forcing General Motors into bankruptcy himself.  Obama is allowing the new head honcho of the company and his Auto Czar; do it for him. This way Obama does not burn through his political capital as quickly and more or less comes out looking like the hero. Of course, President TelePrompter will say that he inherited this mess, and by rights he did. But to pass off the basic executing of a company and it’s people to someone else, is quite the cowardly move in my book.

Hey Barry, If you ever happen to read this; Grow some freaking Gonads, will ya? I mean, come on. If you going to screw the American worker; why not do it yourself? Instead of letting your damned patsies do it for you. Just a thought.

David Horowitz, A Concern Troll?

Wow, I must admit, I did not see this one coming, at all. 😮

I have been watching an interesting phenomenon on the Right, which is beginning to cause me concern. I am referring to the over-the-top hysteria in response to the first months in office of our new president, which distinctly reminds me of the “Bush Is Hitler” crowd on the Left.

Speaking of this crowd, have you seen any “I am so sorry” postings from that quarter as Obama continues and even escalates the former president’s war policy in Afghanistan and attempts to consolidate his military occupation of Iraq?

Conservatives, please. Let’s not duplicate the manias of the Left as we figure out how to deal with Mr. Obama. He is not exactly the anti-Christ, although a disturbing number of people on the Right are convinced he is.

I have recently received commentaries that claim that “Obama’s speeches are unlike any political speech we have heard in American history” and “never has a politician in this land had such a quasi-religious impact on so many people” and “Obama is a narcissist,” which leads the author to then compare Obama to David Koresh, Charles Manson, Stalin and Saddam Hussein. Excuse me while I blow my nose.

via FrontPage Magazine.

Well, I won’t sit here and lie, I see his point. It’s a valid one too. If the far right would do their legit jobs and point the fallacies in Obama polices, instead of trying to prove that he’s anything from an alien to the Anti-Christ, they’d would be doing something.

Movie: Air Force One

Honestly? I’ve got nothing today. I’ve already talked about the Auto Industry News. Although, the news of the outgoing C.E.O. getting a nice severance package, was a bit of s shock. But it is , what it is…

I finally went back over and checked out Hulu.com. Holy hell. That place has grown since it first started.

Anyhow, enough of the babbling… here’s an awesome movie about Air Force One. The President’s Plane:

President Barack Obama asks G.M. CEO Rick Wagoner to resign

Full disclosure: My Father is a Retired G.M. Employee and a member of the United Auto Workers.

I have known about this for a while. I’ve just been waiting for as much info as I could get, before doing a post on it.

Originally Via the Politico:

The Obama administration asked Rick Wagoner, the chairman and CEO of General Motors, to step down and he agreed, a White House official said.

On Monday, President Barack Obama is to unveil his plans for the auto industry, including a response to a request for additional funds by GM and Chrysler. The plan is based on recommendations from the Presidential Task Force on the Auto Industry, headed by the Treasury Department.

The White House confirmed Wagoner was leaving at the government’s behest after The Associated Press reported his immediate departure, without giving a reason.

General Motors issued a vague statement Sunday night that did not officially confirm Wagoner’s departure.

“We are anticipating an announcement soon from the Administration regarding the restructuring of the U.S. auto industry. We continue to work closely with members of the Task Force and it would not be appropriate for us to speculate on the content of any announcement,” the company said.

The surprise announcement about the classically iconic American corporation is perhaps the most vivid sign yet of the tectonic change in the relationship between business and government in this era of subsidies and bailouts.

Reaction from the Conservative Blogsophere has been predictable negative. Also I have observed via the local media, that some auto workers are not happy about the President asking a C.E.O. to resign.

I have an opinion on this. It is simply this. I want to wait and see what happens. I do not want to pass judgment upon this until I see what is going to happen. This could be a bad thing and then again, it could be a very good thing. I shall, like many from this God-Forsaken part of the Country are playing the wait and see game.

Reaction to this from the Editorial board of the The Detroit Free Press is not a good one:

The risk was there from the start.

The federal money flowing to Detroit to help struggling automakers was always going to come with strings.

But there’s a fine line between holding General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LLC accountable for a pile of taxpayer cash and inappropriate government efforts to actually run the companies.

President Barack Obama’s Auto Task Force may have crossed that line over the weekend when it reportedly asked for GM Chairman Rick Wagoner’s resignation as part of a plan to get more aid to the struggling automaker.

It’s hard to see how canning the chief executive is far shy of actually running the company. And if that’s the case, if GM’s federal overseers are stepping up their efforts to actually manage GM through its restructuring, this sets an awful precedent, both on general principle and in this particular instance.

The principle at stake says government shouldn’t manage private businesses. GM has a board of directors that, no matter its many mistakes, is accountable for the company’s fate. The government should ensure the board doesn’t squander taxpayer funds, but that doesn’t include selecting the company’s leadership.

It didn’t for banks, mortgage companies or insurance outfits like AIG. Why should GM be treated differently?

Something tells me that there is going to be a huge blow back from this and it might just cost Obama a reelection, should be try and run in 2012.
