More Fox News Stupidity

You know, I am the most open-minded person on the planet. But this is just straight up crap:

George Washington University students in Washington, D.C. learned of a tragic coincidence of timing on their campus Wednesday. As President Obama delivered a speech on deficit reduction in the Jack Morton Auditorium, university officials were learning one of their students had committed suicide in his dorm room across campus.

Fox News has learned that the male student may have been a junior at the school and was described as solitary. He rarely left his dorm room, according to a source.

“I am deeply saddened to report that the university has been notified of the death of one of our students,” GW President Steven Knapp said in a message to his students, faculty and staff. “The student was found in his room this afternoon at the City Hall residence hall,” he said.

GWU officials tell Fox that police were notified about the incident around 2pm, which happens to be at the same time that President Obama was speaking. A source tells Fox that the incident may have occurred earlier, noting that police went knocking on the student’s door at 1:30pm. As of this writing, Fox has not been able to obtain reaction from the White House.

“The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the student’s death in coordination with the GW Police Department,” Knapp wrote. “At this time, we have no indication that the death was the result of a criminal act. We will release more information when it becomes available.”

DC police officials tell Fox that the death has, in fact, been ruled a suicide.

Knapp took note of the solemn moment, adding, “On behalf of the entire university community, I would like to express our sorrow and extend my condolences to the student’s family and friends.”

Since when did Fox News Channel start taking cues from Joseph Farah and WorldNetDaily?

Next time I hear some idiot right-winger bitching about NPR; first, I am going to slap the damned taste out of their mouths, and then, I am showing them this.

How lame can you get? Seriously. 🙄

Sometimes, I think Keith Olbermann, just might have a point.

Fox is, of course, getting blasted by the left for this and rightly so. if I done something that damned stupid; I would close down this blog and leave the damned Country. (Sounds like a very good idea for Rupert, if you ask me)

Nancy Pelosi is getting testy in her old age

Man, you know the people on the hill are getting too old, when this happens:

In a tense moment that may well have encapsulated the frustrations of three-plus months in the minority, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi snapped at a top presidential economic adviser, Gene Sperling, during a closed-door meeting between White House aides and House Democratic leaders Wednesday.“Maybe you could consult with us just once,” Pelosi said, according to one source’s account. Others confirmed the basic content of the stand-out barb from the former speaker in the midst of an active but largely cordial meeting.

via Nancy Pelosi snaps at White House adviser Gene Sperling – John Bresnahan and Jonathan Allen – POLITICO.com.

Meow… Someone is in need of a nap! 😉 There is a more serious political angle here; Democrats are simply angered over losing their majority in congress. They are also not happy with the White House either. So, expect more of this.

Democrats on the Hill have zero love for President Obama

First there is this from The Hill:

President Obama needs to start acting like a Democrat by not caving for a second time and allowing the George W. Bush-era tax rates on the wealthy to expire, according to a founding member of the House Progressive Caucus.

Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.) said on MSNBC Monday night that he and other liberal Democrats are hoping to apply enough pressure on Obama to make him “act like a Democrat.”

He also said the last Democratic-controlled Congress made a mistake in not pushing Obama more.

“Well, in my opinion that’s what the House did wrong in the last Congress, and in part why we lost is we never pushed back no matter how wrong he was or how off-base he was; we never pushed back,” DeFazio said.

Obama caved in December by breaking a campaign promise to let the Bush-era tax rates on the wealthy expire, DeFazio said.

“Remember, the president did run on that, and he did cave on it in December,” DeFazio said.

As a result, if Obama calls for an end to the Bush tax rates on the wealthy in a Wednesday speech on the deficit, DeFazio said it would be a small step.

To really bring down the deficit, “it’s got to be more — honestly — than just the top-bracket tax cuts,” DeFazio said.

The 13-term Democrat said all of the Bush tax rates should be allowed to expire, including those on the middle class. He said this would mean a significant tax hike for wealthier people and a more moderate tax increase for the middle class that would return the nation to Clinton-era tax rates, when he said the government balanced the budget.

Obama supports ending Bush tax rates on families with income above $250,000, but would extend the lower tax rates on people under that threshold. The White House has said Obama will lay out new plans for tackling the deficit in a Wednesday speech.

Funny how Democrats acts like spoiled rotten children, when they are not holding the ball anymore.

Then there is this via New York Daily News:

New York’s congressional delegation trashed President Obama’s budget compromise Monday, calling it “irresponsible,” “dangerous” and “immoral.”

“What [Obama has] done politically does not fit what I think should be done morally,” said Rep. Charles Rangel (D-Harlem), who signaled plans to vote against the budget this week. “My community got a lousy deal in view of the resources that this great nation has.”

Obama reached an 11th-hour compromise late Friday that narrowly averted a government shutdown by slashing $38.5 billion in federal spending over the next six months.

It’s not clear how much of that cut will affect New York – but local pols say the city will suffer more than most.

“The budget…will hurt New York City terribly,” said Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-Manhattan). “Many of the things hurt like mass transit and public housing funds are particularly New York oriented.”

The MTA is likely to get slammed, which could mean even more fare hikes or service cuts, Nadler warned.

Money also getting slashed: Economic development, help feeding the poor, elderly in nursing homes, child care and Pell grants for college students.

The cuts “would be an outright disaster for our communities,” Nadler said.

The whacks come as the city struggles to absorb the impact of state budget cuts – and as congressional Dems brace for even deeper cuts as talks start this week on the 2012 federal budget.

Hey Charlie, I got one thing to say bud…..:

Cue the Music!

Cry me a freakin’ river dude. 🙄

It is so funny how when Democrats hold the majority; they are civilized people. But the minute they lose the majority, due to overreach; they turn into spoiled rotten children. The hard truth is this; the President’s policies have failed this asinine idea of “tax and spend” utterly failed and the economy is still stalled and now President Obama has lost the “great majority” that he once had and now he has to play by the Republicans rules and also has to do something “Grown Up” to salvage our economy and get the United States out of debt. Now that this is happening, cookie jar robbers like Rangel are acting like the President is a crook or something. It is all quite humorous to watch.

AFL-CIO chief Trumka to discuss increasing “unions appeal”

The jokes write themselves:

Detroit— AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka is set to discuss the future of labor unions during a forum at Wayne State University. The school says that today’s program addresses what unions can do to increase their appeal to employees and expand their memberships. Trumka and other union leaders are to participate in a round table discussion at Wayne State’s McGregor Memorial Conference Center on the challenges facing unions in Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana and other states.

Well, they could start by not allowing their member unions beat black people that disagree with their politics.

Just a thought.

This here is why I cannot stand Barack Obama

People think it is because I am a racist. Which, of course, is bullshit. But, no, it has zero to do with race. It is because of crap like this right here.

Via InstaPundit:

Want to know the real cute part? The fucking story went down the memory hole, once people started noticing it and blogging about it. Steaming mad There is not anything that I cannot stand more, and that is a fucking coward.

Mike over at Cold Fury puts it a bit more bluntly:

Once more, with feeling: they don’t give a shit about you. In fact, they despise you. They intend to bring you to heel, and to make you suffer for all the damage you’ve done to Mother Gaia and little brown people all over the world with your greed and selfishness. Yes, that really is how they see you. They will use you only as long as it suits their purposes, and doesn’t conflict with their left-wing agenda. Unless you’re one of their blind-sheep followers, they intend to stomp you flat, any and every way they can. And if you continue voting for them, you deserve it.

Go read the rest of that, it gets much better. Embarrassed smile

Here is the video in question, I mean, even if he was joking; saying something like that is about as tone deaf as it gets, especially in this sort of an economic downturn.

Such arrogance. Good luck getting elected in 2012, ya idiot! Steaming mad

RINO Lindsey Graham decides that freedom is speech is valid after all

Remember this and this?

Well, somebody somewhere must have informed Lindsey Graham that his base was getting pissed.

How quickly that tune changed:

NRO: Some of my National Review colleagues are being pretty rough on you today. What is your response to some of the outrage on the right about your comments regarding free speech?

GRAHAM: General Petraeus sent a statement out to all news organizations yesterday, urging our government to ban Koran burning. Free speech probably allows that, but I don’t like that. I don’t like burning the flag under the idea of free speech. That bothers me; I have been one of the chief sponsors of legislation against burning the flag. I don’t like the idea that these people picket funerals of slain servicemen. If I had my way, that wouldn’t be free speech. So there are a lot of things under the guise of free speech that I think are harmful and hateful…

NRO: But don’t you fear that if we let Islamic extremists determine the speech debate in the United States, then we’ve lost something?

GRAHAM: No. Here’s what I fear: I fear that politicians don’t have any problem pushing against laws in the Middle East that are outrageous. It’s perfectly acceptable for me to push back against prosecutions by Islamic countries against people of my faith. And it is perfectly appropriate for me to condemn Koran burning when the general who is in charge of our troops believes that such action would help. I’m not letting Islamists determine what free speech in America is, but I am, as a political leader, trying to respond to the needs of our commander. You’ve got to remember, General Petraeus decided that this was important enough to get on the record as being inappropriate. And I want to be on the record with General Petraeus.

NRO: Instead of being an advocate for Petraeus, should you not first and foremost be an advocate for the First Amendment?

GRAHAM: You know what? Let me tell you, the First Amendment means nothing without people like General Petraeus…

NRO: What I don’t understand is, if would you support an amendment to ban flag burning, why do you not support one to ban Koran burning?

GRAHAM: In my view, the flag represents who we are as a nation. It is a symbol of who we are. If you start talking about individual acts of religious intolerance, the amendment doesn’t make any sense. It does make sense, to me, to focus on the symbol of the country, the flag. I’m not proposing that we propose a ban on religious disagreement. I am saying that you can disagree with America; you can disagree with me, but don’t burn the one symbol that holds us together. That’s not an act of speech. They say that is symbolic speech, but I think that is a destructive act. It’s the one thing that unites us.

Yet when it comes to regulating what individual churches may do, or what individual citizens may do under the guise under religion, you are not going to be able to write a constitutional amendment to ban those practices. There is no way to do that. I wish we could hold people accountable for their actions, but under free speech, you can’t.

Man, talk about putting that ’58 Buick in reverse in a big ol’ hurry! 😯

I realize that what Terry Jones is doing is just horrible; not to mention the fact that it is putting service members at risk. However, when you open Pandora’s box, but proposing to limit freedom of speech — you run the risk of ending up with results that one might not like too very well in the end. The simple fact that the results can be a double-edged sword. America, contrary to what is taught by the liberals in their cesspools of schools — was not, at any time, founded as a Democracy; it was founded as a Constitutional Republic.  In our Nation’s Constitution and in it’s first amendment. the right to freedom of speech is guaranteed; this includes undesirable speech as well.  This is why Neo-Nazi’s are allow to speak and publish that which they believe; as well as Communists.

Bottom Line: Any attempt to stifle freedom of speech in this Country is harbinger of disaster, one that America should try to avoid, at all costs.

Quotes of the Day

Bastard. Graham is the sort of scum you get when you blindly vote for Republicans just because there is an R after their name.

Reid, who hates America and her liberties, him I expect to act this way. But Graham likes to call himself a “conservative,” and then, out of that same mouth, say that America might need to “limit” the First Amendment to appease Muslim barbarian savages.

He’s even worse than Reid, because ignoramuses think that Graham actually loves his country and our freedoms, even though his words and actions demonstrate exactly the opposite.

Yet there is a certain segment of “conservatives” who would expect me to vote for Graham no matter what, because he isn’t a Democrat.

I spit on that notion. I will never, ever vote for a candidate who espouses this sort of America-hating, anti-liberty, constitution-loathing crap, no matter what nominal party tag is dangling around his neck.

Video: Guest Voice: Jack Hunter on Liberals and Libya

Via Jack Hunter on Facebook:

Charles Johnson is right and here is why

First, go read — I will wait.

Are you finished?  Good.

What is my point?  This:

This right here above, is why I have my comments section on lock down.  Not only do I require people to register, but I also moderate all comments — meaning, I personally read every comment; because of stuff like this right here.  Uncontrolled discussion on blogs leads to things being said, like what Charles Johnson quoted.

However, I do wholeheartedly reject the accusation or at least the inferring that all Conservative blogs have become a swamp of hate against Muslims and or Arabs.  Furthermore, I reject the inferring that all Conservatives/Classic Liberals/Republicans and Christians hate all Muslims and Arabs.  That is collectivism, and it is crap; and I think Johnson is smart enough to know this, I think he is backhanding the blogs mentioned due to his dispute with the persons mentioned.

Having said of that, I do truly believe that there is a minority of persons in the Republican/Conservative/Classic Liberal crowd — who are frankly, bigoted towards Muslims and ultimately Arabs.  Unlike some of the empty-headed idiots on the left, I am not going to make the asinine inferring that they are this way by design.  What I will do is tell you the truth; what has caused this small but very vocal minority to become this way, is because of the attacks on American soil on September 11, 2001.

President George W. Bush, much to his credit did make the much vital distinction between the war on Terrorism and the war on Islam or Muslims or even Arabs.  Not everyone within the conservative circles agreed with him and still does not agree with that mindset to this day; and now that President George W. Bush is out of the picture that vocal minority is becoming louder and much more accepted.  I do not like myself; because it just makes the rest of us look bad.

This of course, is what the C.I.A. calls “Blowback.”  It is the unintended consequences of actions taken by the United States Government.  Most people think of “Blowback” as the angering of the Arab people to cause them to take up arms and commit terrorism against the United States of America – and in fact, it is just that.  However, that is just the one side of “Blowback.”  The other, more tragic and sinister side of “blowback” is the incitement of racial hatred towards Arabs and the religious hatred towards Muslims in General — including those here in the United States of America.

This reason, along with the laundry list of reasons; is why people like myself, Jack Hunter, Ron Paul, Rand Paul and an ever-growing list of Conservatives and Republicans are beginning to question the role of the United States Government involvement on foreign entanglements in foreign lands.

Of course, anyone with a good knowledge of the history of the United States of America and of American politics can tell you, that this is nothing new at all.  In the 1940’s President Franklin Roosevelt, badly wanting to enter into the conflict against the Empire of Japan and against Germany, ordered a blockade of oil from South America that was headed to Japan.  This act by the President plunged Japan into desperation caused Japan to fly across the Atlantic and attack America’s interests in the Republic of Hawaii.  At the time however, Americans were not made aware of the fact that President Roosevelt had done this, as it was kept quiet by the Government.  However, there were people who did know about it.  Winston Churchill was one of those people, and in fact, Churchill warned FDR that doing such things would cause some sort of backlash from the Japanese and, as history shows, he was correct.  The sick and sad part is; to this very day, there are people who still believe that the Empire of Japan attacked the United States for no reason at all.

How this ties into the modern-day events is this; back in 1941, after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the United States Government set up internment camps throughout the United States for the Japanese people.  It is very widely believed that the decision to do this, by the United States Government was brought on by or at the very least fueled Anti-Japanese sentiment in this Country for years, even after the war.  Sadly, there are Conservatives, of whom I will not name; that actually advocated the interment of Muslims and Arab Americans — after the attacks on 9/11.  Thankfully, the Bush Administration did not listen to the foolish ranting of the people who wrote those books.

My point is the following: Conservatives who believe that foreign policy interventionism is wrong, need to take a stand against the internationalist Democrats and the Neo-Conservative foreign policy interventionists and take control of the Republican Party and possibly the Democratic Party away from these warmongers.  Because as long as the United States continues to wage war against Nations that have never really attacked it, this sort of hatred and bigotry will continue.  It is simply the doctrine of “Cause and Effect.”  Nothing ever happens for any reason at all.  It is tragically sad, that the United States and its political parties and their legions of sheep followers, have not figured that simple kernel of truth out.

You say, “What about protecting the Republic?”  I do not have a problem with that.  However, there is a Grand Canyon difference in protecting the Republic and protecting the empire of America; and wise is the person who knows the difference between the two.  Declaring unconstitutional wars and military actions against Nations who have not attacked us; is not defending or protecting the Republic; but rather defending the empire of America and playing useful idiot to foreign lands.  I hope that someday, the grassroots of both of these parties will wrestle control away from these people.  However, if one is to base his hopes on the Republican Party — their recent actions — make that hope, nothing more than a pipe-dream.

More Great Commentary from Jack Hunter:

And as a Bonus:

Memo to Rabbi David Twersky: You’re not helping dude, seriously…

Yeah, I know Franklin Graham and some moronic Christians have said about the same thing, and yes, it was just as stupid.

Rabbi David Twersky, leader of the Rachmastrivka Hasidic dynasty, says the recent tsunami in Japan, which has left thousands of people dead, was the result of the arrest of two yeshiva students by Japanese authorities after being convicted of smuggling drugs. “The Japanese don’t understand why they keep on receiving blow after blow, and it never ends. If they want it to stop, they must release the two guys jailed in their prison immediately, and then experience salvation,” the rabbi told his followers last week during a Purim celebration in Jerusalem. Haredi website Ladaat reported that the Rebbe asked for the names of the two jailed men and said a prayer for their immediate release. “Amen,” the audience responded.

via Rabbi: Tsunami result of haredi arrests – Israel Jewish Scene, Ynetnews.

Yeah, and I also what I said. My comments were related to the auto industry; and had jack to do with the people. They were also made, before we really knew the scope of the disaster too. So, really, I should get a pass on that.

Anyhow, what pisses me off about this; every time some idiot of a religious stripe does silly stuff like this, it makes the Religious community like stupid. Trust me, we do not need any help in that area. Secular Liberals howl with laughter and some of them actually look at us with scorn and rightfully so; whenever someone in that community decides to open their mouth and remove all doubt as to the depth of their intelligence.

So, as a Christian and someone who find this sort of idiotic nonsense silly; I say the following:

To Rabbi David Twersky — Stick to reading your farking Torah dude, because yowling on about events like this and thinking that somehow you are a spokesman for the Lord God Jehovah is seriously making you look like a farking idiot. Not to mention bringing a reproach on the Jewish World Community, and seeing your people are not exactly the most loved people in the world anymore. The best you can do; is just shut the hell up.

….and yes, I would say the very same thing if it were a Catholic or other Christian Domination. As Petra band once said; Some of God’s Christians (and Yes, some Jews….)  should be seen and not heard.

That is all.

Two very interesting articles

Two Authors that I happen to enjoy, have put two articles out, that I thought my readers would enjoy reading…

They are:

Chuck Baldwin – THE AMERICAN REDOUBT

James Wesley – Move to the Mountain States–The American Redoubt

Yes, I am fully aware, that there are some people who happen to believe, that these two people are on the “Third Rail,” when it comes to American Conservative Politics. That might be so; but I would rather read them and be informed, than to read mainstream sources and be totally unprepared for what might happen.

Some people say that Chuck Baldwin and James Wesley peddle paranoia.  I like to think that they both of them promote Preparedness and Christian values. Which is more than I can say for some blog out there, that promote big Government Conservatism.

Enjoy the Articles.

Video: Obama’s Libyan War

Seeing that things are changing with Libya; I thought this to be a be very appropriate video: (Via Reason Hit and Run, and Reason TV)

Video: Police State: This right here is why people kill police officers

This video is unbelievable.

There is a story behind this, and I very highly suggest that you head over to HotAir.com and follow the links for the back story.

The Video:

Eric Holder wonders why there has been an uptick in police shootings? I can tell you exactly why; because of crap like this right here.

I very humbly submit to you; that if this homeowner had decided to use lethal force against this woman and these police officers, it would be have been entirely justified.

This is not freedom, this is tyranny.

Wake up America; wake.the.hell.up….

In case you would like to contact these bastards; here is the contact information for the Department involved:

Headquarters

Call them and let your rage be known to them. This is not Communist Russia; this is America and we do not sit idly by and allow the police to run roughshod over us.

Somebody somewhere in Washington D.C. ought to be shouting from the rooftops over this one. Ron Paul? Where the hell are you? Why is not someone raising a royal stink about this? Investigation? Yeah right. It will be more like a self-justification. 🙄

Again, this is America and we just do not do this. Something must be done. 😡

The Feckless Far Right: Exhibit B for Bigotry

The reason I am not very well liked in the Conservative Blogosphere, is because I dare to write stuff like this. I am sorry, but if this below is what the Far-Right in America is all about; then consider me to be a bit more moderate. Sorry, but this is just wrong, on many levels:

The First Amendment was written by the Founders to protect the free exercise of Christianity. They were making no effort to give special protections to Islam. Quite the contrary. We actually at the time were dealing with our first encounters with jihad in the form of the Barbary Pirates, which is why Jefferson bought a copy of the Koran. He was told by the Bey of Tripoli that Islam requires Muslims to rob, kill and pillage infidel Christians wherever they find them. Jefferson naturally found that hard to believe, so he bought a copy of the Koran to read it for himself. Sure enough, it’s right in there, in the 109 verses of the Koran that call for violence against the infidels. Islam has no fundamental First Amendment claims, for the simple reason that it was not written to protect the religion of Islam. Islam is entitled only to the religious liberty we extend to it out of courtesy. While there certainly ought to be a presumption of religious liberty for non-Christian religious traditions in America, the Founders were not writing a suicide pact when they wrote the First Amendment. Our government has no obligation to allow a treasonous ideology to receive special protections in America, but this is exactly what the Democrats are trying to do right now with Islam.

via Bryan Fischer: Islam and the First Amendment: privileges but not rights – RIGHTLYCONCERNED.COM.

What you are seeing above; is nothing more than racial and religious bigotry. What if you took out the words Islam and Muslims; and put in the words Jews or Catholics —– or even the word Negros? There would be a massive outcry of Biblical proportions. But because it is some so-called “Christian” speaking of Muslims, it is perfectly fine. 🙄  Wait, What? As I have said before; religious and racial bigotry are wrong; no matter whom is doing it and/or whom the victims are — whether it be black, Jew, latino and whatever else. Whenever we try to pit one against another; whether by class, race, or even Religion — we undermine the very basis for what this Country was founded upon.

If that was not bad enough; we have this pony-tailed idiot here, trying to smear ALL Republicans or Conservatives as agreeing with the guy:

Charles Foster Johnson, doing what he does best... Spouting Bullcrap!

Alright Johnson, I am not letting you get away with this one. How dare you smear me!?!?! It just so happens that I voted libertarian in the 2008 election and for the very first time; since I have been eligible to vote, I actually voted Republican in the 2010 elections. (Much to the chagrin of my Democratic Party voting parents….)  I want it to be publicly known; that I DO NOT AGREE at all, with this man’s opinion about Islam or Muslims. I personally believe that the first amendment applies to ALL, not just some; but everyone. Indeed, I have expressed reservations about Radical Islam. However, I disagree with the assertion that ALL Muslims are terrorists. That is nothing more than bigotry. I think Charles Johnson knows better than this; however, I believe he is trying to appeal to his reading audience. It is too bad too, because when you do this, you lose whatever credibility you ever had.

Now, let me be clear; I do agree with the fact that some people in the Republican Party do cater to this guy; and it is quite sad. However to imply or out right say that everyone who votes Republican agrees with these extremist views — is quite idiotic.

I think Charles Johnson needs to rethink collectivist stance a bit. Because it is making him look an an utter buffoon.

Previous Charles Johnson Buffoonery here.

To my cowardly anonymous stalker

Who deleted his account on Reddit, because he knew he was not going to win the debate.

My last words to your stupid ass:

No it isn’t. It is a medical procedure, the right to which has been ruled >constitutional by the SCOTUS. Try to be graceful when you lose an >argument little man.

You just proved my point, that you are nothing more than a Godless, Baby-murdering liberal. and by the way, fuck civility and graciousness; as your side isn’t really good at it either.

see here:

http://bit.ly/igAcxM

Like I said, the issue was a non-starter and when you saw that you were not going to get what you fucking wanted; which was a concession of a point, you started the fucking gutter sniping. So, you know what turd?  Fuck you and your smugly over-educated self. You enlightened liberals are nothing more than over-educated idiots who wish to steal liberty from the rest of us and use it for your own vile purposes.

A Revolution is coming mother fucker, and when we’re done, the lot of you will change or die. Preferably the latter. 😡

There, now I got the last word on that asshole. Again, don’t come here and gutter snipe and try to convince me that I am wrong about Abortion and gay rights, because it will get you told to go play hide and go fuck yourself. I don’t concede anything on those points at all.

Honestly, Is this the best the left has got?

Okay so. Glenn Back and his website the Blaze come up with some Audio of a now former SEIU official wanting to bring down the system of capitalism. Of course, the right-wing blogosphere is in a tizzy about it.

First, here’s the clip and the full video; that has the right up in arms:

Clip:

Full:

…and the transcript:

It feels to me after a long time of being on defense that something is starting to turn in the world and we just have to decide if we are on defense or offense
Maybe there is a different way to look at some of theses questions  it’s hard for me to think about any part of organizing without thinking what just happened with this economic crisis and what it means
I don’t know how to have a discussion about labor and community if we don’t first say what do we need to do at this time in history what is the strategy that gives us some chance of winning because I spent my life time as a union organizer justice for janitors a lot of things

It seems we are at a moment where the world is going to get much much worse or much much better
Unions are almost dead we cannot survive doing what we do but the simple fact of the matter is community organizations are almost dead also and if you think about what we need to do it may give us some direction which is essentially what the folks that are in charge – the big banks and everything – what they want is stability
Every time there is a crisis in the world they say, well, the markets are stable.

What’s changed in America is the economy doing well has nothing to do with the rest of us
They figured out that they don’t need us to be rich they can do very well in a global market without us so what does this have to do with community and labor organizing more.
We need to figure out in a much more through direct action more concrete way how we are really trying to disrupt and create uncertainty for capital for how corporations operate
The thing about a boom and bust economy is it is actually incredibly fragile.
There are actually extraordinary things we could do right now to start to destabilize the folks that are in power and start to rebuild a movement.
For example, 10% of homeowners are underwater right their home they are paying more for it then its worth 10% of those people are in strategic default, meaning they are refusing to pay but they are staying in their home that’s totally spontaneous they figured out it takes a year to kick me out of my home because foreclosure is backed up
If you could double that number you would  you could put banks at the edge of insolvency again.
Students have a trillion dollar debt
We have an entire economy that is built on debt and banks so the question would be what would happen if we organized homeowners in mass to do a mortgage strike if we get half a million people to agree  it would literally cause a new finical crisis for the banks not for us we would be doing quite well  we wouldn’t be paying anything.
Government is being strangled by debt
The four things we could do that could really upset wall street
One is if city and state and other  government entities demanded to renegotiate their debt
and you might say why would the banks ever do it  – because city and counties could say we won’t do business with you in the future if you won’t renegotiate the debt now
So we could leverage the power we have of government and say two things  we won’t do business with you JP Morgan Chase anymore unless you do two things: you reduce the price of our interest  and second you rewrite the mortgages for everybody in the communities
We could make them do that
The second thing is there is a whole question in Europe about students’ rates in debt structure. What would happen if students said we are not going to pay.  It’s a trillion dollars. Think about republicans screaming about debt a trillion dollars in student debt
There is a third thing we can think about what if public employee unions instead of just being on the defensive  put on the collective bargaining table when they negotiate they say we demand as a condition of negotiation that the government renegotiate – it’s crazy that you’re paying too much interest to your buddies the bankers it’s a strike issue  – we will strike unless you force the banks to renegotiate/
Then if you add on top of that if we really thought about moving the kind of disruption in Madison but moving that to Wall Street and moving that to other cities around the country
We basically said you stole seventeen trillion dollars – you’ve improvised us and we are going to make it impossible for you to operate
Labor can’t lead this right now so if labor can’t lead but we are a critical part of it  we do have money we have millions of members who are furious
But I don’t think this kind of movement can happen unless community groups and other activists take the lead.

If we really believe that we are in a transformative stage of  what’s happening in capitalism
Then we need to confront this in a serious way and develop really ability to put a boot in the wheel  then we have to think not about labor and community alliances  we have to think about how together we are building something that really has the capacity to disrupt how the system operates
We need to think about a whole new way of thinking about this not as a partnership but building something new.
We have to think much more creatively. The key thing… What does the other side fear the most – they fear disruption. They fear uncertainty. Every article about Europe says in they rioted in Greece the markets went down

The folks that control this country care about one thing how the stock market goes what the bond market does how the bonuses goes. We have a very simple strategy:

  • How do we bring down the stock market
  • How do we bring down their bonuses
  • How do we interfere with there ability to be rich

And that means we have to politically isolate them, economically isolate them  and disrupt them
It’s not all theory i’ll do a pitch.
So a bunch of us around the country think who would be a really good company to hate we decided that would be JP Morgan Chase  and so we are going to roll out over the next couple of months what would hopefully be an exciting campaign about JP Morgan Chase that is really about challenge the power of Wall Street.

And so what we are looking at  is the first week in May can we get enough people together starting now to really have an week of action in New York I don’t want to give any details because I don’t know if there are any police agents in the room.
The goal would be that we will roll out of New York the first week of May. We will connect three ideas

  • that we are not broke there is plenty of money
  • they have the money  – we need to get it back
  • and that they are using Bloomberg and other people in government as the vehicle to try and  destroy us

And so we need to take on those folks at the same time
and that we will start here we are going to look at a week of civil disobedience – direct action all over the city
then roll into the JP Morgan shareholder meeting which they moved out of New York because I guess they were afraid because of Columbus.

There is going to be a ten state mobilization it try and shut down that meeting and then looking at bank shareholder meetings around the country  and try and create some moments like Madison except where we are on offense instead of defense
Where we have brave and heroic battles challenging the power of the giant corporations. We hope to inspire a much bigger movement about redistributing wealth and power in the country and that labor can’t do itself that community groups can’t do themselves but maybe we can work something new and different that can be brave enough  and daring and nimble enough to do that kind of thing.

…and what does the left do for a defense; smear the person reporting the story. Honestly, is this the best that the left can do? Smear the messenger? Hell, the liberal blogger even admits that he would like to see it done!

Quote:

First of all, I would be ecstatic if I thought something like this could possibly be done successfully in America in 2011. But not only is organized, widespread progressive action of this kind extraordinarily unlikely, but Lerner’s notion of how it would play out (if the voice on the tape is his — Blodget admits he can’t verify this) is ridiculously naive.

I give him props for being realistic. However, I find that his method of attacking the messenger to be quite lame. If you have no good defense; the best thing is to just shut the fuck up and not make your side look any lamer, stupid and quite frankly idiotic than it already does.

An aside; yes, I do myself find this story to be a bit overhyped. Because the person in question was fired. For, what else? For trying to screw with union funds:

The high-level firing appears to confirm that the 1199 Ohio group including Tom Woodruff and Scott Courtney is consolidating power at SEIU, and Tasty is told that the issue came to a head over a dispute about the national unions organizing budget: Would SEIU spend millions of dollars on a multi-city campaign to organize low-paid workers and attack the banks as Lerner wanted, or would the money be spent on more traditional organizing targets and on propping up the UHW trusteeship in California, where SEIU has already sunk tens of millions of dollars? Other sources tell Tasty that several key SEIU staffers feared Lerners campaign would be more of the same smoke-and-mirror, media-driven gambits that have soaked up tens of millions of dollars without resulting in new members OR additional credibility for SEIU in the area of financial reform.

The pink-slipping of Stephen Lerner highlights the serious turmoil inside Mary Kays purple palace as staff leaders jockey for power and control over millions of dollars of budget money that is… your dues dollars. Tasty hears that Stephen Lerner is not the only staffer whos likely to get the axe, and that other staffers are likely to quit their jobs and follow Lerner out the door. Meanwhile, Lerners firing creates another vacancy on SEIUs International Executive Board Lerner was one of the International staffers who also sat on the board, which Mary Kay will have to fill. Stay tuned for more!

So, okay, yes it was overhyped a bit. So what? Did not left overhype George W. Bush as everything from the spawn of Satan to the second incarnation of Hitler? Further more, the tactics of the SEIU have been on par with shit the Ford Security goons at the battle of the overpass. So, I’d rather not hear stupid shit like this from the left, at all. Because, as a son of a UAW member and retired General Motors employee; who is keenly aware of his history —- Walter Reuther would be spinning is his grave if he saw the tactics of the modern day labor movement. The very people, that he sought to throw out of the AFL-CIO and the UAW are now controlling it. Of course, now, they’re not calling themselves Communists. They are calling themselves progressives.

Plain and simple, the left just needs to stop. Because with each and every passing day, with every idiotic thing they do; they further damage their brand. Which, in a way, is a good thing for people like me. Who would like to see the Democratic Party of OLD — return and not this far leftist tripe, which has been holding court for the last damned 3 years now.

U.K.’s PCC investigates Melanie Phillips blog posting

This is what happens when you coddle minorities, and yes that does include Arabs — and yes, Jews too:

A Melanie Phillips blogpost on the Spectator website which referred to the “moral depravity” of Arab “savages” is being investigated by the Press Complaints Commission. The online comment piece, headlined “Armchair barbarism”, focused on media coverage of the murder of five members of a Jewish family in the West Bank settlement of Itamar by Palestinian militants earlier this month.”The moral depravity of the Arabs is finding a grotesque echo in the moral bankruptcy and worse of the British and American ‘liberal’ media,” wrote Phillips.”Overwhelmingly, the media have either ignored or downplayed the atrocity – or worse, effectively blamed the victims for bringing it on themselves, describing them as ‘hard-line settlers’ or extremists.”To the New York Times, it’s not the Arab massacre of a Jewish family which has jeopardised ‘peace prospects’ – because the Israelis will quite rightly never trust any agreement with such savages – but instead Israeli policy on building more homes, on land to which it is legally and morally entitled, which is responsible instead for making peace elusive. Twisted, and sick.”

via PCC investigates Melanie Phillips’ Spectator blog | Media | guardian.co.uk.

I guess the dolt that brought this investigation on thinks that slaughtering a Jewish family; including a baby is just fine, right? What really makes it sickening, is that those who killed these poor people, were trained by the US.

Yeah, perhaps her wording was a bit harsh? So what? The Arab community should be glad that Israel has not bombed Palestine to powder for these crimes. For that matter; what if she is right? Then what?

When ethnic and religious minorities control freedom of speech; something is seriously wrong. America and the U.K. both need to tell both sides of that little dispute to take their damned Religious wars back to their homelands and stop involving Government’s like the U.K. and the United States. This is why 9/11 happened and why terrorism exists; because we, that being the United States; keep involving ourselves in a dispute between to religious factions in the middle east.

Having said that, Melanie Phillips, has the damned right to say what she wishes. So what if some turban wearing fool does not like it? Who cares, what the Arab people think in the U.K.?

Just like that, The Arab League turns on Libya Rebels

The U.S. and the Allies cannot win:

CAIRO (AP) — The head of the Arab League has criticized international strikes on Libya, saying they caused civilian deaths.

The Arab League’s support for a no-fly zone last week helped overcome reluctance in the West for action in Libya. The U.N. authorized not only a no-fly zone but also “all necessary measures” to protect civilians.

Amr Moussa says the military operations have gone beyond what the Arab League backed.

Moussa has told reporters Sunday that “what happened differs from the no-fly zone objectives.” He says “what we want is civilians’ protection not shelling more civilians.”

U.S. and European strikes overnight targeted mainly air defenses, the U.S. military said. Libya says 48 people were killed, including civilians.

This is what happens, when the United States gets involved in affairs related to the Arab World. We are always the enemy. Further more, they never appreciate what America does, ever. instead they bitch because so-called peaceful citizens get hurt or killed. Cry me a river. 🙄 The United States should have just stay out of the situation in Libya. Those rebels knew the risks and they dared to stand up; and as always, the United States and the western allies came in to bail them out; and now, were once again the bad guys.

When will America ever learn?

I guess that is what happens, when you elect a carbon copy of the previous President.

As a rule; I am not a huge Ann Althouse fan boy… But!

This right here, is just straight up B.S.

…..of course the little leftist coward, once contacted by a Conservative Media outlet, tries to back peddle.

Now, keep in mind; I do not claim to be a “Law Expert,” not by a long shot; but this right here, sounds like a terrorist threat to me.  Here’s his outing of himself; go read.

Here’s his picture:

Jim Shankman is the grinning Homo on the left. (How Ironic!)

If I were Shankman; I would be seriously looking over my shoulder, because I happen to believe that there is a thing called consequences of action. You write something stupid like that; you reap the consequences of your stupid actions.

As I told Dan on his blog — I did some digging here; via some tools of mine and the name Jim Shankman turns up nil in Madison, Wisconsin. Whoever this dude is; he should be tossed in jail for making threats via the internet. Much has changed over the past 20 or so years. Threatening someone over the ‘net, is as bad actually doing something to someone personally now.

I also read, that he is unemployed. Big surprise there. 🙄  He can count on staying unemployed; because the first time some employer looks this guy up on Google, this will come up. Especially on my blog. Thank the Lord for SEO plug-ins for WordPress. 😀 Don’t misunderstand me; I am not exactly gainfully employed either; but I do not go around protesting and threatening Conservative Bloggers either! If I had the guys address; I would be posting it here. As someone’s who’s been outed before. I have no problem outing this idiot. Unlike me, he actually deserves it.

Rep. Anthony Weiner said What?!?!?!

Hoo Boy! 😯

Oh no he did not.

Oh yes he did.

This from Amanda Terkel, who, in this writers opinion is a very pretty lady for a liberal. 😛

Headline:Anthony Weiner: Obama Is ‘Not A Values Guy’

Needless to say; my eyes did bug out over that one! 😯

The Story:

WASHINGTON — Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) and a handful of other House Democrats expressed deep frustration with President Barack Obama’s leadership on Wednesday, saying he needs to do more to set the direction for the progressive movement.

Across the aisle, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) has struggled to wrangle the various wings of his conference and pass budget measures through the lower chamber. Weiner told a group of journalists and bloggers on Capitol Hill that the Republican leader has a tough job of trying to hold “a coalition of crazies and completely crazies together.”

But Republicans, Weiner said, have nonetheless long done a better job of making their case — “smaller government, smaller deficits, lower taxes” — to the public and each other. The Democratic Party remains unclear as to its core policy principles, Weiner said, and part of the problem is Obama.

“On our side is this weird squishy affirmative sense of what government should do and how we’re opposed to this cut and that cut, rather than saying, ‘Here are the things: Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, environment and education. We’re not cutting those. Those are off the table. That’s non-negotiable,'” said Weiner, adding, “We haven’t really done that very well. That’s because the president fundamentally — he’s not a values guy. He wants to try to get the best deal for the American people and that’s virtuous in its own right, but it becomes very difficult to make a strategy. There’s been much greater global strategy thinking on [progressive media] outlets, frankly, than at 1600 Pennsylvania.”

(****)

Continued Weiner: “It is now pretty clear to me — I’m not saying this is pejorative — the president, he doesn’t animate his day by saying, ‘All right, what is the thing that has me fired up today? I’m going to out and try to move the ball on it.’ He kind of sees his job as to take this calamitous noise that’s going on on the left with people like us and on the right on Fox News, and his path to being a successful president, in his view, is taking that cacophony and trying to make good, level-headed, smart policy out of it and moving it incrementally down the road. That’s nice. That’s a good thing. We need that, obviously. The problem is there’s no substitute for someone really leaning into these values questions. “

I have to hand it to Rep. Anthony Weiner, he is not afraid to speak his mind. After all, this is the same guy, who went ape over a vote for 9/11 recovery workers. That little performance was a piece of work. 😛

I will refrain from the whole “rats jumping from ship” analogy. But, I do find the whole thing quite ironic. What happened to unity, and the whole “Hope and Change” idea?

I guess even “The One” is not even immune to the old “Party Backlash” syndrome. I have one thing to say about that:

It’s about friggin’ time!

I just wonder when someone of the “Black Left” will holler “RAAAACIST!” and complain that the joooos are picking on Obama?
