…..and here I thought *I* was grumpy!

Remember that little piece written by P.J. O’Rourke that I blogged about here recently?

Well, it appears that some of my fellow Paleo-Con’s are having none of it, at all; and BOY have the swords come out! 😮

Red Philips over at the Conservative Heritage Times writes:

P.J. O’Rourke’s lasted screed was referenced below. He does make some good points re. spending, fiscal responsibility and lost opportunities, but the good points are lost among his anti-Southern, anti-traditionalist, anti-Christian bigoted spit-flecked rants.

In the article he supports open borders (nothing could be more inherently unconservative), abortion, gay marriage, unconstitutional Civil Rights laws, and wars to spread democracy. What, prey tell, is he supposedly trying to conserve?

O’Rourke is a “libertarian leaning conservative,” my a**. He is an elitist, centrist, establishment shill.

Ouch!

Not to be outdone, John Zmirak over a Taki’s Magazine writes:

P.J. O’Rourke is now officially senile. Pour a stiff glass of bourbon before wading into this farrago of parrot-sh*t. The problem with conservatism, for P.J. as for Frumbag, is conservatives. They should learn to put up with forced desegregation and worthless public schools, gay marriage, abortion, colonization by hostile, nationalistic foreigners, and the use of the U.S. military to fight other country’s wars. In return they might, just might get… drumroll please: fiscal responsibility.  Yeah, we’ve never spent a dime on all that federal equality micromanagement and foreign conquest, or all those uninsured unskilled laborers. That’s funded by pennies from heaven.

Good Godfrey, I thought I was an grumpy old so and so! I can see their point. Of course, I tend to believe that this being directed at this man, because he’s a Neo-Con more than anything else. But still, Senile? Ouch!

Lose an election and start the circular firing squad. Egad, if I have to suffer through blogging about this for the next four to possibly eight years; I don’t know what I am going to do. 🙄

Just sayin’!

Two in a row from Red State Update

Part 1:

Part 2:

Exit Question or Comment: (take your pick) Canada? Yeah, that’ll help! 😆

Exit Question Part Deux: Karl Rove? 😮

John McCain does SNL…

As a Rule I do not watch Saturday Night Live. That sort of humor is just not my bag. But I do enjoy watching some of the politically related stuff.

Anyhow, John McCain was on there, here’s the video:

The quip about the McCain fine gold was rather snort worthy.

In this clip the lines about “Reverse Maverick” and “Double Maverick” were a hoot too.

Overall, it was rather funny, him and Tina Fey was rather interesting…

What was even more hilarious was the video of the send up of Keith Olbermann! I loved that, and from what Keith said on show, so did he. Which brings the question, when someone does of a send up of your program, and you love it, what kind of person does that make you? 😀

Here’s the video:

The camera changes and the drama are a perfect imitation! Richard Wolf and the other person were done very well. The Special Comment about Keith’s Cat was perfect, the head tilting and screaming was very funny.

Although the paper throwing was done much out of the proper order. The hair color was spot on. Overall, it’s much worth the view.

More Stupidity from the comments section

My…My…. The more they come, the more silly they get…. Do people even bother to look at the sign on the door?

Your question: “What’s the immigration status on this guy?” will be answered shortly when Obama’s facist, hate-filled, investigative team will turn on the switch “SEARCH & DESTROY” Tito the builder. This man spoke the truth and you hypocritical liberals can’t take it. If Tito was praising “Obama the racist,” not one word of immigration would have ever surfaced on your slimy, sleazy, blog. Obama’s going down and it’s killing you. The sleeping giant: hard working Americans are waking up and they are ousting this socialst, Marxist, infanticide loving, racist! Yea Baby!

Wow… Did he even read the sign on the door that says “Libertarian Conservative Views“?

Did he even bother to read my “About Me” page?

Me, A Liberal? I highly do not think so. 🙄

As far as Obama goes, Early polling shows that Obama is the lead according to a poll done by CBS, of all people. 54 percent to 41 percent is a pretty wide margin. However, I could honestly care less, I am voting for Bob Barr. As I cannot vote either of these career Beltway politicians.

Slimy, Sleazy Blog? Oh My…. Well, I never! I’m a slimy person, because I dare to bring up the subject of illegal immigration? Wow, that’s a change.

If McCain wins hey, all the better, but I’m not one to live an a fantasy world either so….

Eh, Must have been a Fox News Viewer or something… 🙄

Ooops!

Your Host earlier

your host earlier

You might have noticed that the Blog went away for a little bit earlier.

No, Liberals did not hack into the Blog.

Yours truly attempted to download and install a beta version of WordPress. The install went fine. it was when I opened my Blog in a browser, I got the dreaded 500 error, which is an internal server error! Yikes! 😮 😯

I think it had something to do with a file in my host directory being not writable or something.

Luckily for me, I did a FULL system back up of my current install. Whew! I didn’t lose anything, at all, this time.

Anyhow, I think I’ll do what everyone else does, wait till the damn general release comes out, THEN I’ll play with it! 🙄

Anyone got a dunce cap, that I can barrow? Anyone?

Update: Oy, I even tried a second time. I dunno what the hell is wrong. I tried asking over in the Wp-Testers and best they could do is suggest commenting out some code in the new version. So, I said, “Fuck it!” and ended up doing a reinstall from Fantasico and upgraded back to 2.6.3. Needless, to say, I don’t agree well with Beta versions. Arrrgh! It’s enough to make me want to Punch a damn hippie! 😡 Needless to say, no more filly fartin’ around with the blog! Back to blogging! 😀

Gaffaw Quote of the Day!

Kathryn Jean Lopez over at the Corner wonders aloud….:

Is Team Obama Worried McCain Will Pull It Out?

Nah, Kathy at his age, I doubt he has to even worry about that anymore. Hell at his age, I doubt he can even get it up!

😆

*snort* I haven’t laughed that hard in a while. hehe!

Amazing isn’t it?

Michael Crowley over at TNR’s “The Stump” observers the following:

Watching MSNBC coverage of Obama’s rally in Raleigh, NC, I’m struck by this line from his stump speech:

When Bill Clinton was president your average wages and incomes went up $7,500. Under George Bush it went dow $2,000. So if I’ve get economic theories that are similar to Bill Clinton’s, and [McCain’s] got economic theories that are similar to George Bush’s–you can look and see which one worked and which didn’t.

Remember when he was running against the Clinton years?

It’s called wanting to get elected. Barry knew that if he didn’t suck up to Hillary and Bill who represent the “old 1990’s guard” of the Democratic Party, he’d never get elected. Plus, maybe Bubba wants to reign in on the Puma’s.

Although, it is a humorous thing to watch two people sucking up to one other, after ripping on one another weeks before. 😀

Snort Worthy Quote

From Jonah Goldberg at the NRO’s “The Corner”:

From promiscuous blogger Steve Hayward at NLT:

“Apparently something called the National Inhalant Prevention Council (NIPC) has protested a Wendy’s hamburger TV ad that features people breathing helium and floating around the room, with the tag-line, "Don’t fill up on just anything." The NIPC thinks this promotes unsafe behavior, because, yeah—people will go out and start breathing helium and stuff. (Helium is actually harmless to breathe; it’s a substitute for the 80% nitrogen in normal air for deep sea divers, duh.) I know I’m going to stay awake nights worried about this.
Who knew there was a National Inhalant Prevention Council. Maybe it was formed just last week. It seems to me that although it is not quite a perfect fit, NIPC’s acronym should be pronounced "nit-pick."”

What I want to know: Where is the National Safe Catapult Society to condemn the flagrantly unsafe misuse of catapults in Road Runner cartoons? Not to mention the Committee for Taking Gravity Seriously and the Commission for Responsible Anvil Usage, which have been awol on Road Runner for years?

Computers don’t lie! (Well, usually…)

Another rip snortin’ funny posting before I head for the hammock.

A while back I posted about a nifty little utility for Firefox that allows you see which Blogs are political leaning in which direction. Blue is for Liberal, Red is for conservative.

…and so, I’m scrolling through the stories, before I head off to bed here and lookie here what I happen to see:

memejohnmccainblue

(click the picture to make it bigger!)

Notice what John McCain’s color is, where the arrow and the “!?!?!?!”’s are? (It’s blue, in case you’re wondering…)

*snort*

You’ll need to read this, to understand why I am so tickled over this.

Well, he does say that he’s a maverick! LaughingRolling on the floorHee hee

Keith Olbermann’s Worst Persons in the World

I’m posting this because I think that it is quite funny.

Bronze to Kathleen Parker, who wrote this rather hilarious article about John McCain’s picking of Sarah Palin.

Quote:

My husband called it first. Then, a brilliant, 75-year-old scholar and raconteur confessed to me over wine: ‘I’m sexually attracted to her. I don’t care that she knows nothing.’

Finally, writer Robert Draper closed the file on the Sarah Palin mystery with a devastating article in this Sunday’s New York Times Magazine: ‘The Making (and Remaking) of McCain.’

McCain didn’t know her. He didn’t vet her. His campaign team had barely an impression. In a bar one night, Draper asked one of McCain’s senior advisers:      ‘Leaving aside her actual experience, do you know how informed Governor Palin is about the issues of the day?’

The adviser thought a moment and replied: ‘No, I don’t know.’

Blame the sycamore tree.

Which garnered a rather startled reaction out of Kathryn Jean Lopez over at the National Review:

Monica?!   [Kathryn Jean Lopez]

Because I know some of you are understandably and sensibly wondering WHY?: We’re running our roster of syndicated columns through the election. Period. So that’s why we published one today that is embarrassing and outrageous.

Kirk Petersen called it a Cat Fight in the Corner. Andrew Sullivan got a rather hearty snort out of it as well.

The Silver goes to Rupert Murdoch for deciding that he is not too keen on his autobiography that is coming out.

The Gold goes to Rush Limbaugh for bringing up a subject that has been debunked by Factcheck.org and WorldNetDaily. (I know, I just broke a promise, but it was for a good reason.) My favorite line in this was, “Michael freaking Savage?!?!?!” Rolling on the floor

This is one of the reasons why I love being a Libertarian. I can sit back and laugh at the “Coming apart” of the Republican Party too. Tongue

Jackie and Dunlap’s Redstate update….

Enjoy….
