Politics is one thing, real life is another. Gary Farber is a blogger. Who’s politics is most likely to left of mine and most of you who might read here. (Maybe…) Gary’s out there in the real world and does not have a support system.
Therefore I am asking all of the readers of this blog to head on over and give Gary a helping hand. There are times my friends, that we must put partisanship aside, and show the goodness that is America. Remember my friends, the only difference between you, me and Gary Farber is that we have been fortunate, and alas, Gary has not. I am asking you as a Christian. To put aside your politics for one second and head on over to his blog and make a nice donation. As someone who has been through my own share of misfortunes in the last few years; I would be the last person to turn my nose up at someone who is in a worse position than me. I would not be able to sleep at night, if I did.
Remember:
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. – Matthew 7:12 (KJV)
Rejoice with them that do rejoice , and weep with them that weep . Be of the same mind one toward another . Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.Ā Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written , Vengeance is mine; I will repay , saith the Lord.Ā Therefore if thine enemy hunger , feed him; if he thirst , give him drink : for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.Ā Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. – Romans 12:15-21
But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law , and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away . Ye have heard that it hath been said , Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye ? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.Ā – Matthew 5:39-48 (King James Version)
Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy : for, behold , your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets. But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. Woe unto you that are full ! for ye shall hunger . Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep . Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets. But I say unto you which hear , Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again . And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. — Luke 6:23-33 (King James Version)
I think those reasons should suffice. Go now and do what is right.
