A snippet:

Palin positions herself as a populist, but her populism is entirely cultural. She never misses an opportunity to tell us Rod Dreherhow weepy she gets when she thinks about our country and its military. She fires the governor’s mansion chef, who is bored because her kids won’t eat his fancypants food. She swoons over a meal of homemade blueberry pie from “hardworking, unpretentious, patriotic” Alaskans — unlike, one presumes, those uppity Berkeley snobs who prefer tarte Tatin at Chez Panisse.

A little of that goes a long way, and I wouldn’t begrudge Palin a bit of it if her populism had any economic substance. Early in Going Rogue she talks in detail about how Exxon exploited the people of Alaska in the Exxon Valdez disaster. And her experience tangling with oil companies taught Palin about how big business colludes with government to create a crony capitalism that harms the common good.

And yet, she’s incapable of understanding how the uncritically pro-business economic agenda she touts makes this possible.

“In national politics, some feel that big Business is always opposed to the Little Guy,” she writes. “Some people seem to think a profit motive is inherently greedy and evil, and that what’s good for business is bad for people. (That’s what Karl Marx thought too.)”

Karl Marx! Well, say no more! Along those lines, Palin’s economic program amounts to nothing more than tax-cutting, deregulating and the endless repetition of shopworn GOP talking points.

This is the Republican Party’s great populist hope?

I got to hand it to Ron Dreher; he does speak the unvarnished truth about stuff like this. I have not always agreed with him. But I have always respected his opinion. Looks like I will be saving my nine dollars for something of more substance. Good on Ron for speaking the truth about something like this and not sucking up to the party or to Palin or her followers.

If we had more people like this on the Conservative side; maybe, just maybe our Party and our movement would be in better shape.

Update: …and as expected, the Palin-bots are out in force. Between you and me; I will take the word of a “Conservative Douche bag” over a guy who quit the Washington Times; because he got his feathers ruffled any damned day of the week. I just do not get these moronic idiots, who run around with their noses up Sarah Palin’s twat ass. They think because she so damned pretty and because she is a woman; that she is entitled to be President of the United States. How about Sarah Palin be a real Conservative woman and stay home and raise her children, so no more of them end up pregnant? How about she stay home and take care of her “special needs” child, that she used as bumper sticker and campaign prop; and leave the Politics to the real people, that actually know how to run a City, State and yes, a National Government.  Because it is quite obvious to the rest the world that this woman is not cut out for national politics. There, I said it, and I am damned proud of it; and if any of these dumb ass Palin-bots want to come after me, I say bring it on, bring it the hell on, because I will destroy every last damned one of you.

Message from Mike Bouchard Republican Candidate for Michigan Governor

Bouchard: Don’t take bus safety money from crime labs

Making crime victims wait even longer is not answer to state budget woes

Oakland County- Republican candidate for governor Mike Bouchard today called on the Granholm/Cherry administration to stop playing games with the budget and focus on long-term structural reforms.

“Instead of raiding one pot of money to replenish another, it’s time we start rethinking how we deliver services.  The Granholm/Cherry team clearly lacks the capacity to find creative solutions,” Bouchard said.  “It’s unbelievable that the administration is taking $900,000 from the forensic lab budget instead of finding long-term cost-effective alternatives for the school bus inspections.”

Bouchard added, “School bus inspections account for $1.43 million of the MSP budget which equates to an average cost of $130,000 (salary, benefits etc.) for each of the 11 state police officers conducting bus inspections.  The administration should explore using private-sector certified mechanics or auto dealerships to conduct these annual inspections, thus freeing up resources for other clear priorities such as crime lab support.” He added “Certified mechanics make on average $60,000 a year.  At that rate, bidding out the inspections could cost half as much.  Car dealerships in this state are hurting for business, this could also be an opportunity to help them by inviting them to bid on the business. We must look for innovative ways to stretch every dollar farther.”

On Oct. 30th, Granholm boasted in her recent signing of the Michigan State Police (MSP) budget: “I am pleased this bill includes funding for the additional forensic laboratory casework resulting from the closure of the Detroit Crime Laboratory.”  Then on Nov. 4, the governor’s budget director fired off a letter to Legislature slashing the forensic lab budget by roughly $915,000, claiming that the cuts could be offset with federal recovery act funds.  However, the federal funds identified are only limited-term monies.

“The plan proposed by the Granholm/Cherry team is not sustainable. Unfortunately, this game of ‘hot potato’ and lack of leadership has become the signature of the Granholm/Cherry administration,” remarked Bouchard.

“Further cuts to forensics labs could mean that victims of crime, including rape, have to wait longer to get test results back,” said Bouchard. “The situation in the State Labs is already beyond critical with backlogs of DNA testing approaching a one-year wait.  We had a tragic situation in Oakland County where a rape victim was raped two additional times while awaiting DNA results from the already overburdened MSP lab system.  This is unacceptable.”

Bouchard further commented, “The MSP backlog has worsened with the shutdown of the Detroit Police Department Crime Lab.” The current MSP backlog has been exacerbated due to the shutdown of Detroit Police Department’s Crime Lab as evidenced by the following shocking statistics:

·     10,000 rape kits backlogged. It will take MSP years to process these cases.

·     5,700 firearms cases backlogged with a 12-month wait list

·     4,200 narcotic cases backlogged with a 4-5 month wait list

·     2,700 DNA cases backlogged with an 8 month wait list

·     370 polygraph tests backlogged with an 8-10 week wait list

As Oakland County Sheriff, Bouchard has made a practice of making sure taxpayers get the most bang for their buck. He competitively bid the jail food service, saving county taxpayers $1.6 million a year. He also is part of the county leadership team that anticipates potential budget shortfalls by operating on a three-year rolling budget. This forward thinking has resulted in Oakland County being only one out of 40 counties in the United States to have a AAA bond rating, which allows the county to borrow money at a low rate.

“As governor, my team and I will review programs to cut and find innovative alternatives where it makes sense, just as I have done in Oakland County,” Bouchard said.  “Taxpayers need to know that each tax dollar is being spent effectively.”

Bouchard called on the House Appropriations Committee to stop the transfer before them on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 11:30AM.

Jennifer Granholm and the Democrats have been a utter disaster for Michigan and its economy. It is time for new ideas, leadership and for some real change. Remember this come 2010; it is time to stop the disaster that Obama and the Democrats have created in America and here in Michigan. We need real jobs, a real economy and a true recovery — not socialism, wasted money and smoke and mirrors —- and that is about what the Democrats have given us for the past eight years here in Michigan.

It is time for change. Elect Mike Bouchard and Terri Lynn Land as Governor and Lt. Governor in Michigan in 2010.

Please note: This is a blatant attempt to promote the Governor campaign of Mike Bouchard. I was NOT compensated for this posting at all. It is truly a personal choice of mine; as I live here and I have been out of work since 2005 and I feel the Democrats have to totally screwed this State into the ground.

Stupid 10 Year Old Girl gets zapped by a Taser

Any other time; I would flag an incident like this under the caption of “Police State?” But this one here, is much different.

Looks like a Ozark, Arkansas 10 year old girl got zapped by a Taser, for kicking a cop in the groin.

4029tv.com picks up the story:

OZARK, Ark. — Ozark police said they were called to a home where a mother asked for help with her unruly child, but the 10-year-old’s father said he’s outraged at the force police used against his daughter.

“I would like to say Ozark police Tased this little girl right here. Ten years old and [they] shot electricity through her body, and I want to know how the heck in God’s green earth can they get away with this,” said the girl’s father, Anthony Medlock.

Medlock said his daughter was at her mother’s house when Ozark police Officer Dustin Bradshaw shocked her in the back with a Taser and arrested her.

“If you can’t pick the kid up and take her to your car, handcuff her, then I don’t think you need to be an officer,” Medlock said.

Medlock said his daughter does show signs of having emotional issues, but she “doesn’t deserve to be treated like a dog. She’s not a tiger.”

According to a police report, the officer was called to the home by the mother and witnessed the child kicking and screaming.

The officer’s statement said the girl’s mother, Kelly Hamlert, told him to use a Taser on her if he needed to.

The officer did shock the girl after he said she kicked him in the groin.

“He had no other choice. He had to get the child under control,” said Ozark police Chief Jim Noggle.

Noggle said the officer shocked the girl for about a second.

Ozark police said it is their policy to use a Taser on someone who is a threat to others, no matter their age.

Kudo’s to the officer and to the Ozark Police Chief for standing up for his officer. As for this despicable excuse for a Father; you sir are a absolute joke. Your damn daughter was out of control sir and the little spoiled brat got a nice zap by a taser. I mean this idiot HAS to be a stupid brain-dead socialist liberal twit. Let’s take all of his statements, shall we?

Daddy Says:

[…]

I don’t know what kind of policy it is. I don’t think it’s right,” Medlock said.

Medlock said this is not the first time the girl’s mother has called police to take her daughter to a juvenile facility. He said he will now try to get custody of his daughter.

“She just wants somebody to love her, and I do,” he said.

Ah, yes, all she needs is a widdle lovey dovey and everything will be unicorns and rainbows. ——  Memo to daddy; your stupid child is a spoiled rotten brat, who needs to be taken out behind the woodshed and beaten with a switch, until blood runs down into her socks. She is a child, if you spare the rod, you spoil the child. Emotional problems my fat Conservative ass. She been petted all of her life and when the police came to take care of the situation; she hauled off and kicked the officer in the jewels. This little spoiled rotten pig child is lucky that the police officer did not just use lethal force on her! I can honestly say; as someone who seriously considered a career in law enforcement, I would have used deadly force on this little monster!  The fact remains is this; you do not kick an law enforcement officer in the damn groin, at least not if you do not want to go to jail.

My friends; this is what happens when you do not apply the rod of correction to your children. If you do not punish them and correct them like the Bible says that you are supposed to, the state government will. There are quite a few examples of what happens when you do not discipline your children like the Bible says that you are supposed to; some are in my own family. I never fought my Mother or Father, because I knew what I would get if I did. I was raised to respect authority and I have all my life.

The broader point is this; this is a perfect example of what raising a child in a god-less, socialist liberal environment will do to a child; a child not reared in a God-fearing, Bible-Believing and following home is a out of control child; and they usually end up under the control of the state.  I could go on and on; but I think you know what I mean. Children who are given the rod of correction when it is needed are just better children. History proves it, and we should return that sort of raising.

Media Matters to Newsweek: Hey, Stop with the sexist articles on Sarah Palin

I do believe that there is a blizzard in hell right about now.

Ho-ly Tol-freakin-ledo! 😯

There are a lot of legitimate reasons to criticize Sarah Palin, her new book, and her policies, but you don’t have to stoop to sexism to do it. Newsweek’s November 23 issue, however, does just that by publishing on its cover a photo of Palin in short running shorts and a fitted top, leaning against the American flag. Making matters worse is the equally offensive headline Newsweek editors chose to run alongside the photo — “How Do You Solve a Problem like Sarah?” — presumably a reference to the Sound of Music song, “Maria,” in which nuns fret about “how” to “solve a problem like Maria,” a “girl” who “climbs trees” and whose “dress has a tear.”

Where did I happen to read this? ——- Media Research Center? NewsBusters? Michelle Malkin? Nope! Try Media Matters for America. 😮

I was out earlier; I didn’t notice a full moon anywhere. Planet’s aligned? Something got into Julie’s water? Something got into my water? (!)

Another Black Conservative agrees with me; that hell is definitely frozen solid.

Even Shakesville isn’t happy about it. That’s it; I’m going to check to make sure that little green aliens haven’t landed and warped the Blogosphere into some odd parallel universe….or something.

Debbie Schlussel vs Pamela Geller

Please note: This posting is entirely satire and not to be taken seriously by all parties mentioned. If you do, you might hurt yourself.

Note: Photo removed… It seems that Debbie is on the war path against people using her photo… 🙄

It seems that local Detroit, Michigan area Blogger Debbie Schlussel and Pamela Geller are at it. Go here to read about it.

I propose a mud wrestling match; to be held in a neutral spot; say maybe Robert Stacy McCain‘s backyard. At the end, we’ll just throw in Robert Spencer for good measure.  I would volunteer my own backyard; but it is much too small for all that craziness.

Of course, I would handle the concessions; being that bastard capitalist that I am.  I could just see that now:

“Programs, get your programs… You can’t tell a Kippah from Schvitz without a program!”

You mean Brody is just now figuring this out?

Wow:

You’ve got to hand it to the folks at Newsweek. They have accomplished being biased and sexist at the same time. Quite a feat. This cover has got to be a new low right? They don’t use a photo of Palin on the campaign trail. No instead they take the sexy Runners World photo. Yes she posed for it but don’t tell me they didn’t purposely use that photo to make a point? I predict this cover will become a bigger story over the next 24-48 hours and let’s face it. This isn’t JUST about media bias. This cover should be insulting to women politicians. Where’s the sexy photo of Mitt Romney? Why not a picture of Tim Pawlenty with an unbuttoned shirt relaxing on a couch in the Twin Cities?

via Newsweek Photo of Palin Shows Media Bias and Sexism.

You mean to tell me that David is just now figuring all this out? Dang. I have always known that most of the time, that Christians were always behind the curve on modern issues; but man, I never though they were this behind.

Welcome to the real world Mr. Brody. Now, grab a sword and fight!

Memo to Ana Marie Cox: Stick to what you know, bitch

Is this stupid bitch serious?!?!?

anamariecox

Hey Ana, Get Keith Olbermann's Jizz off your face! What a JOKE!

I cannot claim to have completely read “Going Rogue” — I had to skim the last 150 pages (or more than one-third). I only got the thing into my hands late Monday afternoon with a deadline of early evening. It’s terrible, I know, but if I didn’t read it all, neither can Sarah Palin claim to have completely written it.

One of the few surprises of the book: For a frontierswoman, Palin really doesn’t like smokers — especially if they’re men working for John McCain. She describes the “jaded” “professional political caste” of the McCain campaign as “tumbling out of the bus in a pack, lighting cigarettes as they went so it looked like a walking cloud of smoke with legs,” and, later, she gets a nasty jab in at senior adviser Steve Schmidt, who, she says, “used nicotine to keep . . . his cognitive connections humming along.”

Her critique of the campaign’s strategy is about as sophisticated as her discussion of policy, and just as circumscribed by her own experience. When she was pregnant with daughter Piper, she says, she pondered anti-smoking laws when confronted by cigarette smoke in a restaurant: “Instead of supporting [a ban] . . . I just stopped going to the restaurant. It eventually went smoke-free on its own, which is the way things like that should work.”

A pregnant waitress unprotected by a smoking ban might feel differently, as might, say, a vice presidential candidate, were she surrounded by chain smokers in her place of work.

via Book World: Ana Marie Cox reviews Sarah Palin’s ‘Going Rogue’ – washingtonpost.com.

Translation? I did not read the book; so, I stuck together a rather snarky book review, while giving my husband a head job…. or something. I mean, I would expect this out of a blogger, like myself. But this stupid bitch gets paid MONEY to write lame ass articles like this! Unbelievable! Meanwhile, I sit here and can’t get a job anywhere. Something is terribly wrong with the world.

What really steams me about this; is the fact that this woman is only famous, because she got fired from a job; because of her unprofessional behavior and went on to start a D.C. gossip blog, that she sold, and made like a shitload of money on….and she writes shit like this and passes it off as professional writing. Good Grief. 🙄

Don’t get me wrong; I am not a Sarah Palin fan boy. In fact, I did not even vote for John McCain —- mainly because of Sarah Palin, and because of John McCain’s stupidity. But this is just fucking unacceptable. I’m sorry; you don’t even read a book and then write a stupid ass liberal snipe, disguised a fucking book review?!?! Seriously??!?!

It is no damned wonder that the Washington Post is possibly getting a “Bail Out” from the Government. Because who in their right mind — or otherwise, would even read anything like this and take anything away from it of substance?

News from the Doug Hoffman Campaign

This came via e-mail. I am following this story and I will post more, when I get it.

I just wish they would make the print a little bigger, for us old people. 😉 I did modify the print. Sorry for the huge size. It is how it came out, after I fiddled with it; with this silly text editor that comes with WordPress.

Acorn and the Unions will not have their way!

Our Campaign Is Not Over Yet!

Doug HoffmanSo many people have written hoping we continue the fight, count every ballot and make sure no one steals this election.  Acorn and the unions did their best to try and prove that the conservative movement was a shame. Rest assured they will NOT succeed. On Election Night the information we received was far different from that we received this week! They will NOT silence our voice that easily!

There is also the fact that NY is using the Sequoia Voting Systems machines. Princeton University (Click here to read) cited them as having been susceptible to voter fraud in the past.  There’s a reason why the State of California BANNED them. Yet we must now prepare for this likelihood as well!

We are working to get the message out that this election is far from over! Our campaign and the New York Conservative Party is watching this recount and preparing for our next course of action. On Friday Doug has appeared on Cavuto on FoxNews and will appear on Glen Beck’s radio show on Monday. It is a call-to-arms for conservatives. Help however you can; post blogs, comment on websites and donate to help us mount a challenge if need be!

A liberal fudges the facts a bit

Like I have written on here many, many times before. I hate like the devil to get into fights in the Blogsophere.  But again, I find a stupid liberal shooting off at the mouth, when he does not have a flipping clue what the hell he is even taking about.

First off, go watch this video and then come back here.

Okay you done? Good.

It appears that some liberals watched this show as well. A David Neiwert, who writes at crooks and liars; which is a very well known socialist liberal blog. Which is run by some idiot out in California.

Mr. Neiwert is entitled to his opinion, but he is not entitled to his own set of facts.

He writes:

Um, Ms. Fritsch, you need to avail yourself some history books too. It was conservatives who argued for maintaining slavery before the Civil War. It was conservatives who insisted after the war that blacks be denied the full rights of citizenship,

Whoa! Hold on a second there Jackson Brown! That sir is a falsehood, which has been perpetuated by the Democrats for years…. and it is flat wrong. Here is a video, made by the non-partisan discovery channel:

Matter of fact, here is a video; which was most likely produced by someone in the south, that says basically the same thing about the “Radical Republicans.”

He also says:

and who erected the system of Jim Crow, who led rope-bearing lynch mobs that crucified thousands of black people. It was conservatives who erected “No Black After Sundown” signs at the city borders of thousands of American towns.

Again, this is more Democratic Party Propaganda. It is well known that George Wallace, who delivered one of the most famous addresses was, in fact, a member of the Democratic Party. Further more, it was the Democratic Party of the south that fueled the racial hatred of the south. It was the Democratic Party that was formed by the former confederate Soldiers that lost the civil war.  Apparently Mr. Neiwert never has actually read the history of the Lincoln-Douglas debate of 1885; and that Stephen A. Douglas was, in fact, a Democrat.

You see folks, this is why I left the Democrats; well, actually, they left me. But I digress. It is because of the deception that the Liberals like to pull, when it comes to the history of this Nation. That my friends, is a tragic thing, because not many young people know the truth, they simply believe what they are told.

Now I will concede a point here:

And most of all, it was conservatives who fought the Civil Rights movement tooth and nail. And it was only from the ceaseless efforts of liberals — many of them indeed Christian liberals — in opposition to conservatives, many of them Christian conservatives — that anything was in fact achieved during that era. Somehow, you’ve managed to get your history completely upside down.

He is right here; Strom Thurmond was a perfect example of this. He changed parties after the civil rights act was passed. What Mr. Neiwert fails to say here is that the Republican Party; after Lincoln died and the Radical Republicans were voted out, basically became a isolationist, Anti-Semitic, and yes, flat out racist party, till around the time of William F. Buckey and Irving Kristol switched sides, and began go after the Birchers and their ilk. Which was around the mid to late 1960’s. But from the time of the voting out of the “Radical Republicans”, all the way through to FDR’s time and up till the 1960’s the Republican Party was in fact, not minority friendly. It is a stain on that Party and has been for years. I cannot defend it, nor will I try.  However, it would be helpful to point out, that those days in the Republican Party are quite frankly over. You go around a Republican gathering, and you drop the “N Word” around any of them, and you are asking to get tossed out on your head! Most of them, and I do mean the good majority of them, do not tolerate racism, at all. There are some within the ranks still that harbor prejudices; but they are very small minority in the party, and none of them hold any position any longer. But the good majority of them, are not bigots at all. Much has changed in that party since the 1940’s and 1950’s in the Republican Party and I am quite happy about that.

However, there was a reason behind the opposition to the civil rights act; and no, it is not racism, as it is alleged by the Democrats. It was because of the civil rights act’s unconstitutionality. Basically the bill, in its final form, violated the Constitution. This is why Senator Barry Goldwater would not sign on to it, nor support it, at all.  It is helpful to note that this action of stubbornness cost him the Presidential election. So, while he might have been slightly right about the civil rights act. He was quite wrong about the history of the Republican Party.

Going Rogue: An American Life

by Sarah Palin

Chapter Four; Section 8, pages 255-257

Books PalinBy the third week in September, a “Free Sarah” campaign was under way and the press at large was growing increasingly critical of the McCain camp’s decision to keep me, my family and friends back home, and my governor’s staff all bottled up. Meanwhile, the question of which news outlet would land the first interview was a big deal, as it always is with a major party candidate.

From the beginning, Nicolle [Wallace] pushed for Katie Couric and the CBS Evening News. The campaign’s general strategy involved coming out with a network anchor, someone they felt had treated John well on the trail thus far. My suggestion was that we be consistent with that strategy and start talking to outlets like FOX and the Wall Street Journal. I really didn’t have a say in which press I was going to talk to, but for some reason Nicolle seemed compelled to get me on the Katie bandwagon.

“Katie really likes you,” she said to me one day. “she’s a working mom and admires you as a working mom. She has teenage daughter like you. She just relates to you,” Nicolle said. “believe me, I know her very well. I’ve worked with her.” Nicolle had left her gig at CBS just a few months earlier to hook up with the McCain campaign. I had to trust her experience, as she had dealt with national politics more than I had. But something always struck me as peculiar about the way she recalled her days in the White House, when she was speaking on behalf of President George W. Bush. She didn't have much to say that was positive about her former boss or the job in general. Whenever I wanted to give a shout-out to the White House’s homeland security efforts after 9/11, we were told we couldn’t do it. I didn’t know if that was Nicolle’s call.

Nicolle went on to explain that Katie really needed a career boost. “She just has such low self-esteem,” Nicolle said. She added that Katie was going through a tough time. “She just feels she can’t trust anybody.”

I was thinking, And this has to do with John McCain’s campaign how?

Nicolle said. “She wants you to like her.”

Hearing all that, I almost started to feel sorry for her. Katie had tried to make a bold move from lively morning gal to serious anchor, but the new assignment wasn’t going very well.

“You know what? We’ll schedule a segment with her,” Nicolle said. “If it doesn’t go well, if there’s no chemistry, we won’t do any others.”

Meanwhile, the media blackout continued. It got so bad that a couple of times I had a friend in Anchorage track down phone numbers for me, and then I snuck in calls to folks like Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity and someone I thought was Larry Kudlow but turned out to be Neil Cavuto’s producer. I had a friend call Bill O’Reilly after I was inundated with supporters in Alaska asking why the campaign was “ignoring” his on-air requests for a McCain campaign interview. I had another friend scrambling to find Mark Levin’s number. Aboard the campaign plane I was within twenty-five feet of reporters for hours on end. Headquarters’ strategy was that I should not go to the back of the aircraft and talk to the press. At first this was subtle, but as the campaign wore on, Tracey or Tucker would call headquarters to request permission, and someone in DC would respond, “No! Absolutely not- block her if she tries to go back.”

via DRUDGE REPORT: GOING ROGUE, SARAH PALIN.

A quite interesting story indeed. Sounds to me like that this Nichole Wallace was a liberal plant in John McCain’s campaign for the sole purpose of putting the “Deep Six” on John McCain Campaign. Now the really funny part is that Ann Althouse says that Sarah Palin is “dumb,” that sounds like nothing more than petty jealousy. I thought Ann was better than that, but then again, I never though Ann would vote for Barack Obama either —- Now, who’s dumb sweetie? I think the answer is quite clear here. What more can be expected from a woman, who, in all honesty, Fellatio’ed her way to the place that she is now?

(Please note: I removed the video here, as it was auto-starting and driving me crazy!)

Update: It seems that The Other McCain, Ace of Spades and Conservatives for Palin agree with me. 😀

Andrew Sullivan’s Political Masturbation

Good God this man is so far into the tank; it is sickening:

Obama’s position – almost a year into his presidency – is yet to be revealed. The president waits, prods, allows the parties to reveal their hands, and keeps his final detailed position to himself. By allowing the debate to continue in public, he also tries to get the public more, rather than less, involved. So we too get to show our hand as the debate continues. And the polls show Americans pretty evenly – and understandably – divided on the excruciating and ultimately prudential question of what to do next.

What strikes me about this is the enormous self-confidence this reveals. Here is a young president, prepared to allow himself to be portrayed as “weak” or “dithering” in the slow and meticulous arrival at public policy. He is trusting the reality to help expose what we need to do. He is allowing the debate – however messy and confusing and emotional – to take its time and reveal the real choices in front of us. This is politically risky, of course. Those who treat politics as a contact-sport, whose insistence is on the “game” of who wins which news cycle, or who can spin each moment in a political storm as a harbinger of whatever, will pounce and shriek and try to bounce the president into a decision. And those who believe that what matters in war is charging ahead regardless at all times will also grandstand against the president’s insistence on prudence.

Good Lord. Get this man a bottle of baby oil, a warm room and a towel.  If that isn’t a gay crush on a black man; I do not know what is.

Quite true. Quite true indeed. Conservative? Yeah, right!

Opportunistic Bovine Tripe

I think I have seen it all now…:

We know absolutely no one in Bush family circles and have never met former President George W. Bush or his wife Laura.

If you have been reading us for any length of time, you know that we used to make fun of “Dubya” nearly every day…parroting the same comedic bits we heard in our Democrat circles, where Bush is still, to this day, lampooned as a chimp, a bumbling idiot, and a poor, clumsy public speaker.

Oh, how we RAILED against Bush in 2000…and how we RAILED against the surge in support Bush received post-9/11 when he went to Ground Zero and stood there with his bullhorn in the ruins on that hideous day.

We were convinced that ANYONE who was president would have done what Bush did, and would have set that right tone of leadership in the wake of that disaster. President Gore, President Perot, President Nader, you name it. ANYONE, we assumed, would have filled that role perfectly.

Well, we told you before how much the current president, Dr. Utopia, made us realize just how wrong we were about Bush. We shudder to think what Dr. Utopia would have done post-9/11. He would have not gone there with a bullhorn and struck that right tone. More likely than not, he would have been his usual fey, apologetic self and waxed professorially about how evil America is and how justified Muslims are for attacking us, with a sidebar on how good the attacks were because they would humble us.

Honestly, we don’t think President Gore would have been much better that day. The world needed George W. Bush, his bullhorn, and his indominable spirit that day…and we will forever be grateful to this man for that.

via Thank you former President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush « HillBuzz.

It is a very interesting read; It all sounds nice and pretty — that is until you hear the reality of it. If you think for one minute that the people that wrote the above and what is over at that link are really sincere about that; I have land to sell you for extremely cheap in Texas —- in a swamp. The only motivation for this idiotic bunch of Bovine Tripe that was written here is the following; their allegiance to Hillary Clinton.  HillBuzz is simply a group of Homosexual Hillary Supporters; that are a still bitter because Barack Obama kicked Shillary’s fat ass in the 2008 Primary.

So, while it may sound nice, pretty and — dare I even say it? Patriotic. (Uh, Gag, Puke) It is simply a piece written to kick dirt in the face of Barack Obama for daring to defeat Hillary Clinton. So, please, do not buy the hype on this entry. Because if it would have been Hillary that won. These guys would be still trashing Bush. In other words; Nice try guys, but not all of us in the political blogging world are that dumb to believe that you actually now love Bush. 🙄

Video: Interview with Rupert Murdock

Whether you like this man or loathe him; it cannot be denied that he is making an impression in the media right now and is quite successful at it. This video comes via Reason Magazine’s Blog called Reason Hit and Run; Reason did an article in 2004 bashing Murock’s strangle hold on the media industry. Now whether that stranglehold is real or imagined is for others to judge. I have to honestly wonder aloud; is Reason magazine’s bashing of Rupert Murdoch a result of the editors blind jealousy of his success? It is a reasonable thing to ask, do you not think?

Anyhow, here is the interview done by Sky TV; which Rupert owns a small share of. Friendly media aspersions aside; the man is just a interesting person in general. I bet many could learn from this man; including liberals.

I suppose the real question everyone is asking is; will Rupert’s idea work?  The smart people say no; Rupert says yes. The real question is; who’s the bigger fool? That is the question of the ages.

Not everyone likes the “new” GOP

An interesting read here.

Money Quote:

For some reason it does not say that Eisenhower said that his appointment of liberal justices Warren and Brennan were his “two biggest mistakes.” According to Warren, Eisenhower told him prior to Brown, “These [Southerners] are not bad people. All they are concerned about is to see that their sweet little girls are not required to sit alongside some big overgrown Negroes.”

Opposing activist judges like the ones Eisenhower regrettably nominated continues to elect Republicans to this day. In fact “Courts”—unlike immigration or affirmative action—are one of the six defining issues for the Party on GOP.com.

How about Lincoln? Nowhere does GOP.com even mention that he saved the Union and won the Civil War—or for that matter that he believed he had, “no purpose to introduce political and social equality between the white and the black races.” Instead, his accomplishments are reduced to his support for the abolition of Slavery.

Save Ronald Reagan, the only heroic Republicans are ones who base their career solely on uplifting African Americans.

The new GOP.com also provides an extended timeline of the Republican Party’s greatest accomplishments. Below are every single of one of the Party’s pre-1960 actions:

Republicans Established the Transcontinental Railroad

Republicans Passed the Land-Grant College Act

The Highest Point in Washington, DC [This refers to the addition of the Freedom Statue atop the Capital, however, they somehow made this entry about the Emancipation of Slavery in DC]

The First Hispanic Governor was a Republican Republicans Freed the Slaves

Republicans Passed the 14th Amendment

Republicans Established the Buffalo Soldiers

Republicans Established Howard University
Memorial Day

Republicans Passed the 15th Amendment

Republican Opposition to Plessy v. Ferguson

The First African-American Senator was a Republican

Republicans Outlawed the Ku Klux Klan

Yellowstone National Park

Republicans Passed the 1875 Civil Rights Act

A Republican Wrote the 19th Amendment

A Former Slave Chaired the 1884 Republican National Convention

First Women Mayors in the United States

A Republican President Appointed the First Jewish Cabinet Secretary [Only true, if you exclude Confederate Secretary of State Judah P. Benjamin]

Republicans Passed the Indian Citizenship Act

The First Hispanic U.S. Senator was a Republican

The First Asian-American U.S. Senator was a Republican

The Republican Party First Called for Ending Racial Segregation in the Military

A Republican Integrated the University of Mississippi

A Republican Wrote the Brown v. Board of Education decision [Again, Earl Warren, the first Judicial Activist]

Republicans Established the Federal Highway System

Republicans Passed the 1957 Civil Rights Act

Republicans Ended Racial Segregation in Little Rock.

So, of the Republicans 28 greatest accomplishments during its first 100 years, only five do not involve helping women or minorities.

Trust Busting? Peaceful resolution of the Korean War? The Taft-Hartley Act—or for that matter, the 1924 Immigration Act? All are deemed unimportant.

Interestingly enough, just as none of the post-1960 Republican heroes are minorities, none of the nine post-1957 accomplishments of the GOP involved uplifting blacks?

What happened? Those evil Southern Democrats, whom the GOP.com derides, started voting for the GOP because they were fed up with the increasingly liberal Democrats. Beginning with the Dixiecrat walk out to support Strom Thurmond—who later became a Republican—in 1948, the South slowly left the Democrats and eventually voted en bloc for Goldwater, Nixon, Reagan, and Bush.

In fact, many major Southern Democratic politicians—starting with Thurmond but continuing on through Mills E. Godwin, Jesse Helms, Phil Graham, Richard Shelby, and Virgil Goode—switched parties.

If someone attended the Five Minutes University on postwar electoral politics, the lesson would be: “Southerners voted Democratic. Blacks voted Republican. They switched parties.”

If they spent a few more minutes, they’d learn that because Southerners and then working class ethnic whites who were upset with the left wing racial, feminist, and cultural policies left the Democratic Party, the New Deal Coalition that kept the GOP out of power for nearly forty years collapsed and the Republicans dominated politics from 1968 until the election of Obama.

In the process, the GOP became less attractive to minorities, while the Democrats became the party of Willie Horton and Jeremiah Wright.

I hate to say it; but he is right.

Excellent Money Quote of the Month:

Having friends on both sides of the paleocon/neocon schism, I’m kind of an odd hawk-dove hybrid — a Zionist paleo? — and wish there were some sort of fusionist middle ground or, at least, that the two sides would stop anathematizing each other. Decades of this Manichean either/or game gets tiresome.

I could not have put that any better, if I tried.

I figure if I am going to get all this insane amount of traffic, I might as well steer it toward those who were kind to me, when I was a nobody idiot with an opinion. As opposed to being a somewhat well-known idiot with an opinion. NTTAWWT.

Uh, These people do not speak for me!

Never thought I’d be doing this, as a Conservative Blogger…..

But hats off to Amanda Terkel over at think progress for reporting on this:

Fred Phelps’ Westboro Baptist Church is a hate group that goes around the country staging anti-gay rallies at some of the most inappropriate places (e.g. the funerals of former White House press secretary Tony Snow, victims of the Minneapolis bridge collapse, and U.S. troops) with messages like “Thank God For AIDS” and “God Hates Fags.”

This week, they’re bringing their hateful message to children in Washington, DC, planning pickets at a handful of local schools. This morning, they showed up outside of Sidwell Friends, the school that Sasha and Malia Obama attend.

I just want to say; as a Christian, as a Baptist; albeit not a very good one, but I digress — that these hate-mongering bastards DO NOT SPEAK FOR ME or ANY OTHER BAPTISTS THAT I KNOW!

One of the horrific parts of our first amendment is that it protects people like this and the idiots that I posted a video about earlier. Believe me, as a Conservative, the last thing I ever would want to do is take anyone’s rights to free speech away. But, this stuff right here grinds me to my core. Because the casual person thinks that ALL Christians and Baptists think this way; and I tell you it is not true at all. The truth is, Fred Phelps is addicted to HATE, his own estranged son said this.

The truth is, that all sane rational Christians who are not ate up with Hate or otherwise; believe that God Hates Sin, but loves the sinner. That is the mainstream Christian belief and has been since the days of apostles. These so-called “Baptist Christians” use an Christian belief system called “Calvinism” and a belief system called “Absolute Predestination” to justify their actions. Which is, of course, wrong. Not all Calvinists accept that belief system, further more most Calvinists believe that Fred Phelps and Crew; are nucking futs!

Anyhow, just my two cents…..

YOUTH MINISTRY SAYS THAT THE COOL PARTY JESUS WOULD LOVE “THE BEATLES” VIDEO GAME (Friday Church News Notes, November 6, 2009, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – Lane Palmer, of Dare 2 Share, an interdenominational youth ministry, claims that Jesus would like the new video game “The Beatles: Rock Band.” Palmer rejoices that by this means “thousands, if not millions, of teens are being introduced to the Beatles magic,” and he can envision “Jesus and the disciples laughing it up over a video game if they had a 1st Century PS3” (“Would Jesus Love “The Beatles: Rock Band?” Dare2Share.org, Oct. 28, 2009). Palmer bases this on a gross misreading of Jesus’ actions at the wedding in Cana as described in John 2. In emerging church fashion, Palmer thinks that Jesus turned water into alcoholic wine and thereby pumped up the wedding party’s level of intoxication-driven fun. He says, “[Jesus] was hanging out at social events that seriously offended the stuffy stuck up religious folks. They weren’t mad because He went to parties; they were ticked because He had such a great time at them … the reason Jesus went to parties and hung out with ‘sinners’ was not to judge or condemn them.” The emerging church looks upon this fallen world as a party to be enjoyed and participates freely in the world’s music, art, fashion, movies, etc. It “communicates with” the world’s culture rather than condemning it and has created Jesus in its own image, but the emerging church’s party Jesus is a figment of human imagination. Though Christ was a friend of sinners in that He came to seek and to save them (Luke 19:10) and was involved socially with sinners, attending their weddings and feasts, He was not a “party animal.” He lived and preached righteousness in every situation. He was a friend of sinners even while being “separate from sinners” (Heb. 7:26) because of His absolute holiness.  Matthew 11:19 says that Christ was “a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners,” but this was what His enemies said about Him. In fact, He was neither gluttonous nor a winebibber. He was a friend of publicans and sinners not in that He partied with them but in that He loved them and sought to save them. Christ was not “non-judgmental.” He reproved sin. He exposed the rich young ruler’s covetousness (Mat. 19:16-22) and the woman at the well’s fornication (John 4:16-18). Christ often warned about eternal, fiery hell (e.g., Mat. 5:22, 29, 30, 7:19; 10:28; 11:23; 13:40, 42, 50; 23:33; Mark 9:43-48; John 3:36). His very first message was “repent” (Mat. 4:17), and He warned that those who do not repent will perish (Luke 13:3; John 3:36). He called people evil (Mat. 7:11; 12:34). He looked upon people with anger for their hardness of heart (Mark 3:5). He warned people to stop sinning (John 5:14; 8:11). None of this sounds very “cool” in a worldly sense, nor would it be an effective way to keep a worldly party hopping!

IS FOX NEWS A FRIEND OF THE TRUTH? (Friday Church News Notes, November 6, 2009, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – In last week’s edition of the Friday Church News Notes, we published a report entitled “CNN Last Place among U.S. Cable News Networks.” In conclusion I wrote, “FOX News is more conservative, somewhat less a voice for big government, and more patriotic than CNN (which is not saying much). That said, FOX News is no friend of the truth, and its objective is more to entertain and make money than it is to provide substantive news.” I was surprised to receive several e-mails from readers asking if I really meant what I said. My answer is an emphatic yes. FOX News is owned by Rupert Murdock, one of the biggest purveyors of filth entertainment on earth. Sure, FOX is more “conservative” than CNN, but it is not a friend of Jesus Christ or the Bible, and that is the definition of the truth (John 14:6; 17:17). Not even FOX’s most conservative people, such as Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Glenn Beck, are friends of God’s infallible Word. If you watch FOX much you will hear every sort of sorry humanistic philosophy. With very few exceptions, they push the same moral relativism that CNN pushes. Do they plainly oppose the homosexual agenda on biblical moral grounds? Do they expose the godless lies of Darwinism? Those are two of the greatest enemies that Bible believers face today, but FOX is essentially mute in the face of this vicious onslaught. If you watch FOX News you will also be bombarded with the filthy pop culture. On that line they worship Hollywood and Nashville as fervently as CNN or MSNBC. One of my readers recently wrote, “It was only on deputation when we had more access to TV’s and found when we turned them on, hours would easily be wasted, even just watching FOX News. Not to mention having to continually turn the commercials off. It got so annoying you either wanted to just leave it alone and not turn it off or miss something if you did turn it off. Unfortunately, leaving it on would win, and being aware of this we solidified in our minds we would not have a TV in our home, or cable for that matter. Both the programming and the commercials are written by non-Christians who are trying to influence others with their pagan humanistic philosophies and lifestyles. Cheating, illicit sex, drugs, homosexuality, teens in adult situations, Darwinism, cussing, and all kinds of things Christians shouldn’t be setting before their eyes. Numerous times, even on ‘conservative’ FOX News, they had a story on prostitutes and actually showed a video of pole dancers.” That reader has it right.

Hey America, Welcome to my World!

Just wanted to be nice about it.

Welcome to my World!

Via The Old Grey Lady:

The United States economy shed 190,000 jobs in October, and the unemployment rate reached a 26-year high of 10.2 percent, up from 9.8 percent in September, the Department of Labor said Friday in its monthly economic appraisal.

While the pace of job losses has slowed significantly since the peak of the recession last winter, the unemployment rate, which measures the number of people actively seeking work, continues to climb, and economists do not foresee relief until well into next year.

“There’s no doubt that the slashing and burning of jobs has abated quite a lot,” said Allen L. Sinai, the founder of Decision Economics, a research firm. “The economy is recovering, but it is a very soft recovery.”

The biggest losses came in the construction, manufacturing and retailing sectors. Health care companies added 29,000 jobs to their payrolls, and the number of temporary workers increased by 34,000 — a significant gain that could indicate employers are beginning to expand their businesses again.

The Labor Department also revised September’s losses to 219,000 from 263,000.

Dean Baker, a director for the Center for Economic and Policy Research, said he did not expect declining unemployment rates until next spring. “We may be looking at very high levels,” Mr. Baker said, “barring a policy response, for several years into the future.”

Um, Why should there be any policy response? I believe that we are already tapping our resources to the limit now.

On Thursday, in anticipation of the unemployment report, Congress overwhelmingly voted to extend benefits for jobless workers for up to 20 weeks. That will soothe the short-term financial pain of many families, but demands for a new wave of government relief may intensify if companies continue to cut back.

Yes, let’s encourage people NOT to look for a job and continue to spend ourselves into a hole; by being a nanny state.

So far, the federal stimulus package has injected billions into local economies, giving states money, for instance, to finance construction projects or retain teachers. The housing and auto sectors have been propped up with government credits meant to encourage spending. But weak consumer demand and hefty labor costs are still forcing many employers to cut positions and reduce hours to survive.

So much for Hope and change!

The article goes on trying to defend President Obama, which is so typical for the New York Times, but it is quite obvious, this President has failed on all fronts, the stimulus, the bailouts —- everything. He is, in fact, a black Jimmy Carter.

Ed Morrissey says:

This is now Obama’s economy.  He owns the double-digit unemployment level, having bought it with the $787 billion stimulus plan that he promised would keep unemployment no higher than 8%.

I agree with that. Obama simply continued the bailouts that President Bush started, which was a huge mistake.

The AP Reports:

But the loss of jobs last month exceeded economists’ estimates. It’s the 22nd straight month the U.S. economy has shed jobs, the longest on records dating back 70 years.

Counting those who have settled for part-time jobs or stopped looking for work, the unemployment rate would be 17.5 percent, the highest on records dating from 1994.

Now, if I were a partisan Blogger, I would simply sit here and blame Obama for it all. However, I am a bit more smarter than this. This all goes to Carter and then to Clinton. This video from the Wayne County Republicans will explain:

These unemployment numbers are just a ripple effect of all of this. Bush had a hand in it, as well as Obama. This is what happens when you elect faux Conservatives as Republicans and it is what happens when you elect Socialists.
