Chuck Baldwin on Abraham Lincoln

In order to “preserve the Union,” Lincoln destroyed the very principles upon which the Union was created. His audacity is without equal. For example, to prevent a possible vote of secession by the Maryland legislature, Lincoln ordered federal troops to seize and arrest the Maryland congressional delegation. And of course, he was more than willing to sacrifice hundreds of thousands of America’s finest and best to destroy Jefferson’s declaration that the states of our Union are “Free and Independent States.”

I invite all those pro-Lincoln apologists out there to seriously answer this question: Does an abusive husband who beats and batters his wife have the right to force her (at the point of gun) to remain married to him? (Even the God of the Bible, Who cast marriage in the most sacred terms, recognizes the right of lawful separation.) If you answer no, how can you continue to justify Abraham Lincoln’s actions? In a political and governmental sense, that is exactly what Lincoln did. Forced union, of any kind, is slavery. In the name of emancipating slaves, Lincoln enslaved an entire nation.

It was Abraham Lincoln who, for all intents and purposes, destroyed federalism and limited government in America. In fact, on December 15, 1866, renowned British historian, Lord Acton, wrote a letter to General Robert E. Lee. In the letter, Acton said, “I deemed that you were fighting the battles of our liberty, our progress, and our civilization; and I mourn for the stake which was lost at Richmond more deeply than I rejoice over that which was saved at Waterloo.” – Chuck Baldwin on Abraham Lincoln

  1. One might expect such an ignorant and biased opinion 140 years ago, but it hardly seems right for any postor, much less a patriot in present times to be making such cockamamie conclusions based on mere post hoc ergo propter hoc presumptions. Even Andrew Jackson and General Lee must be turning over in their graves from such clueless tripe!

  2. You areabsolutely correct in your assessment. The man sent 650 thousand souls beyond this earth for
what? To save a Union of Independent states?? It was always well understood that every state had the God given right to leave the union whenever they pleased. Why would Lincoln think any different. By the force of the gun, this tyrant infringed upon the peoples right to life.

This was truely the end of the United Stares and freedom as concieved by the founders!!!!!

  3. Chuck,
Point made and taken; but that’s water that passed under the bridge long ago. We’ve got to focus on the flood that’s trying to drown us now. Keep up on what’s happening around us and the world, pray always and vote whenever we have the opportunity. The Lord told us to ‘occupy until He comes’. We’ve got to hold on. He’ll be here soon!!!!

  4. Well, Spartacys Rex, I couldn’t help but notice that you failed to accept the challenge in the second paragraph of what you dismissed as “an ignorant and biased opinion”. By the way, I also failed to note any reasoning as to why it was wrong. But this is America, and we still apparently have the right to worship anything or anybody…even the State and “Honest” Abe.

  5. Lincoln was the worst violator of his oath to the Constitution of any President thus far. W could arguably be the 2nd worst.

Lincoln ordered the unlawful arrests of Americans. He blockaded American ports. He had his soldiers burn women and children alive, similar to Waco. He destroyed the Constitutional united States by APPOINTING the Congress members of the southern States. Without representation as selected by the people of those States, per the Constitution, the lawful federal entity failed to exist at that point, and any law passed at the federal level since then is null and void.

Lincoln outlawed slavery in the South, but not the North, and he didn’t care either way on the issue. His orders were to stop the competition that the South had achieved against the corporations of the North who owned Lincoln, lock, stock, and barrel.

Financially, Obama appears to be poised to pass W on the “terrible” scale. We’ll see if he is as egregious with the Bill of Rights as W was.
