John McCain needs to brush up on his history

Via Think Progress

Well, he’s right, if forget the Gulf War, and Somalia, and the Rwandan Genocide, and the earlier war in Georgia, and the breakup of Yugoslavia and all the wars that spawned, and 9/11, and Afghanistan, and Iraq and North Korean nuclear testing, and the war in Lebanon, and Darfur.

Then again, what do you expect from a 70-something year old man?

WorldNetDaily link removed from this Blog…

Why?

It seems that WorldNetDaily’s Joe Farah has decided to back Jerry Corsi’s slander book.

In fact, Farah even admits that there are factual errors in the book:

Quote:

Are there mistakes in it?

Show me a first edition that doesn’t have some – other than the Bible.

But is it truthful? Does it add considerably to the public’s knowledge of the front-running candidate for the presidency? Do we know much more about Obama than we would had we relied exclusively for our information from the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post and the Associated Press?

I offer a resounding “yes” to all three of those questions.

This statement alone proves to me, one hundred and fifty percent, that Joseph Farah is not interested in objective journalism at WorldNetDaily or in any of his other Conservative publications, but rather is more interested in right wing smear campaigns.

For this reason, I cannot and will not link to this site. I will admit, that there are some interesting Christian related articles over there, when they are actually true, that I do enjoy reading, otherwise, there is nothing there, which I would really even want to be in the business of promoting.

When I switched political sides, concluded that I was, in fact, a Libertarian Conservative, and decided that I wanted to be a Libertarian Conservative Blogger, which I do consider myself to be. I made myself a promise that I would never ever engage in the low-ball, sleazy attacks for which Republican Conservative Bloggers are infamous.

In fact, as of recent here, I came across a video that did in fact, I feel, prove that Obama was not a real bona fide Christian. However, I decided against running them here. In fact, I spoke with the owner of the Moderate Voice about posting them there or having Joe at least link to posting. However, after some considerable thought, I decided against even posting them here. Why is this? It is because I want visitors here to consider this website to be a mainstream Conservative Website, not a “right-wing smear” Blog or website. I admit it. I have called Obama a Communist Liberal in the past. However, mainly, that was in jest or in anger, when I would see the Democrats doing something rather idiotic. Not that I cannot say that, there has been a fair share of idiotic nonsense performed by the Republicans in the last 8 years. If I sat here and told them all, this posting would be twenty-five pages long in itself.

I have said many times on this Blog and I will say it once again, this blog is a moderate, independent, Libertarian-leaning, Conservative Blog. However, this blog is honest enough to be critical of those who claim to be representatives for the Conservative movement. Objective Journalism I am all for. However, unfounded partisan smears, I will not be a part of any longer. Factual criticism of Obama’s Policies I will continue to do, but unfounded smears are not something I wish to be a part of any longer. I have done this in the past, but I will no longer be contributing to the echo chamber of the Republican smear machine.

Because as far as I am concerned, the Republican Party does not represent the type of Conservatism that I believe in, it no longer represents the type of politics that I believe in, it also no longer cares or ever represents the financial class, which I find myself a part. I am not a fan of outright socialism, but I cannot align myself with a political party that says, “If you make less the $250.000 a year, we do not give a flying flip about you.” Anyone that says that is untrue is a Republican protectionist who wishes to deceive those who are not well acquainted with that part and its history of protecting the wealthy. You most likely wonder, do I have anything against the wealthy? I absolutely do not! The United States of America is the land of opportunity. However, a political party who only wishes to represent a small part of America, that 10 percent of America that makes more money that my father ever made or I ever made and rest to forget, is very unacceptable in my opinion.

This is why I call this Blog an Independent Conservative Blog. That it is, and that it shall remain.

Rush Limbaugh, You Blew it Pal

A little while back, before this Blog moved to its new server. There was a rather nice article in the New York Times about Rush Limbaugh. At the time, I wrote a few lines about Rush and his success in the radio field.

However, when I saw the news of what Rush Limbaugh said about Elizabeth Edwards, I was absolutely sickened by what I heard and saw.

Anyone who knows me and regularly reads this blog of mine, knows that I spare no one from criticism on this Blog. I do it to Liberals and I also do to Conservatives as well, especially those in power in Washington D.C.

However, what was said by Rush Limbaugh, went well beyond good taste and just regular Conservative cheese-head humor. This my friends was just out right vulgar.

Here it is, and I don’t want to hear no crap about me getting this from a Liberal source okay? Because it’s worthy of mentioning:

Click here to go watch the Video

Here is the transcript: (via Media Matters for America)

From the August 12 broadcast of Premiere Radio Networks’ The Rush Limbaugh Show:

LIMBAUGH: Back to the phones. Winston-Salem, North Carolina, this is James. Nice to have you here, sir. Hello. Is he gone? James, you there? Aw, darn. He wanted to talk about Edwards and who knew and what were the motivations. And I’ve got a theory about the motivations. Well, I don’t know that I could — I don’t know that I can put this one on the air.

JAMES GOLDEN (contributor known on-air as “Bo Snerdley”): Why not?

LIMBAUGH: Well, it’s — I mean, at some point, at some point, you gotta exhibit maturity and restraint. You know, and I do that constantly. But — well, I don’t — look, let me see if I can run you through this and get you to think what I’m thinking without my actually saying it. That might be a pretty big talent if I could do that — make you think what I’m going to say without my having to say it, therefore if anybody gets in trouble for saying it, you say it.

We know — we’ve been told that Elizabeth Edwards is smarter than John Edwards. That’s part of the puff pieces on them that we’ve seen. Ergo, if Elizabeth Edwards is smarter than John Edwards, is it likely that she thinks she knows better than he does what his speeches ought to contain and what kind of things he ought to be doing strategy-wise in the campaign? If she is smarter than he is, could it have been her decision to keep going with the campaign? In other words, could it be that she doesn’t shut up? Now, that’s as far as I’m going to go.

Well, you’re — Snerdley says he’s missing something. If you’re missing it, you’re going to have to provide it. What are you missing? Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.

I can’t close the loop on it. I can’t close the loop on it. I’m on — you know, I’m in a little quicksand already today talking about how the chicks are giving us boring pictures of the female athletes from the Olympics. Because I know — you — the diversity crowd’s going to be upset. They’re going to — “Ooh, do you mean the Olympics are just so you guys can ogle wom–” Yes, because we do not care to watch ’em compete. But back to Elizabeth and the Breck Girl.

I’m sorry, my friends, I just — I can’t. It just seems to me that Edwards might be attracted to a woman whose mouth did something other than talk.

[…]

LIMBAUGH: OK, we’re back. Ladies and gentleman, my theory that I just explained to you about why — you know, what could have John Edwards’ motivations been to have the affair with Rielle Hunter, given his wife is smarter than he is and probably nagging him a lot about doing this, and he found somebody that did something with her mouth other than talk. I think I can back this up from her.

We have a sound bite. This is February 2007. She was on the tabloid show Extra. And this is what she said. Listen very carefully.

HUNTER : The whole experience was life-altering for me. One of the great things about John Edwards is that he’s so open and willing to try new things and do things in new ways.

LIMBAUGH: “Open to new things.” Folks, it is what it is. You get mad at me for bringing the truth to you, but it is what it is.

As expected, Keith Olbermann, who himself has been guilty of a few incidents himself, although, none of them compare to this, had a few things to say about this:

Transcript: (via MSNBC)

OLBERMANN: The American sage H.L. Mencken once defined Puritanism as the haunting fear that someone, somewhere may be happy. But since Mencken‘s death in 1956, there has emerged a new and more complex form of American puritan, a man haunted by the fear that someone, somewhere may be happy doing something he is also doing, that he thinks is his right, but no one else‘s. Such a creature is Rush Limbaugh, who should have learned that when the new Puritanism attacks a sinner like, say, Bill Clinton, it invariably overdoes it to such a degree that America recoils and soon perceives the sinner as the victim and the new puritan as the jackass.

Our third story on the COUNTDOWN, with comments idiotic even for him, Limbaugh has turned John Edwards into a victim. Details in a moment. First, it is not like Senator Edwards is not trying to stay competitive. The senator had implied to ABC News that his affair was over by the time he announced his presidential candidacy on December 28, 2006. Elizabeth Edwards‘ brother and closest friend now telling “People Magazine” that John Edwards revealed the news of his extra-marital conduct slowly and not until the, quote, frenzy of the campaign‘s official launch.

Acquaintances of Rielle Hunter are also shedding doubt on John Edwards‘ version of events. One says the affair began six months before she started working for the Edwards‘ campaign. Of course, that woman answers to the first name of pigeon. For that matter, Rielle Hunter is a made up name. That woman was born Lisa Druck.

As to Elizabeth Edwards and her reaction to the affair, her brother saying she decided to stay with her husband because of her cancer diagnosis and the fact that her young children will not always have a mother.

Fortunately, the lunatic right will always have a mother, on the radio. Despite the wall-to-wall sleaze of the Edwards‘ saga, Rush Limbaugh is managing to make it look like a puddle, while he represents the backed up sewage plant down the street.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

RUSH LIMBAUGH, RADIO TALK SHOW HOST: We‘ve been told that Elizabeth Edwards is smarter than John Edwards. That‘s part of the puff pieces on them that we‘ve seen. Ergo, if Elizabeth Edwards is smarter than John Edwards, is it likely that she thinks she knows better than he does what his speeches ought to contain? And what kind of things he ought to be doing strategy wise in a campaign? If she is smarter than he is, could it have been her decision to keep going with the campaign?

In other words, could it be that she doesn‘t shut up? Now, that‘s as far as I‘m going to go.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

OLBERMANN: Actually, it wasn‘t. Never is. A minute later—

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

LIMBAUGH: It just seems to me that Edwards might be attracted to a woman—whose mouth did something other than talk.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

OLBERMANN: You mean like what you do with your mouth other than talk, consistently, endlessly wedge your own foot in it? What better pre-pubescent dream of genital waving dominance over all the women in the world than to blame the intelligence of a woman for her husband‘s infidelity. What a pure sentiment to share with the less well recompensed losers who comprise your audience than to dismiss their failures as husbands, as men, Rush, on the woman?

I mean even these days three divorces is a lot. A 38 million dollar salary and the guy can‘t keep the same woman. It‘s got to be the woman‘s fault, right? You wouldn‘t want an intelligent women reminding you that when you went after Bill Clinton, his approval ratings went up, and your two successive champions against him, your Republican two speakers of the House, had to resign in shame because of, oops, their own marital infidelity.

And you wouldn‘t want an intelligent woman around to say, as somebody should have said to Sean Hannity or somebody should have said to you, you know what, you keep bringing up Edwards and infidelity, and sooner or later, someone will bring up John McCain cheating on his wife while she was recovering from a terrible car accident. Somebody, even Alan Combs.

You wouldn‘t want an intelligent woman around you to say loosen up on the pedal on this Edwards‘ crap. The story was broken by the “National Enquirer.” They were the same people who broke that story about you and the pills.

You wouldn‘t want an intelligent woman around you, maybe to help you keep that dream job that you blew at ESPN. So instead of sitting around in a radio studio making fun a cancer victim, someone somewhere might still care about your opinion of the National Football League, and permit you to be on television.

Oh, no, nothing worse than having an intelligent woman around, Rush.

Rush Limbaugh is a hole.

To this let me simply say this. As you all know, I left the Democratic side of the political fence because I felt that the Democratic Party had drifted far from its original principles. I am kind of new to the Conservative side of the fence, as far as politics goes. But let me say this publicly on this Blog. I totally disassociate myself with these comments and this man. He does not speak for me, or Conservatism as a whole. What Rush Limbaugh said was inexcusable, and if I were calling the shots with the syndication network that carries Limbaugh, I would be tearing up his contract and letting him know, he was no longer going to be carried.

As a bit of a parting shot, let me ask this. Yesterday, there was a tragic murder of a Democratic Leader in Arkansas. My question is, why could it not have been Rush Limbaugh? Why couldn’t have it been Sean Hannity? Why could not it have been Michael Savage? Why could not it have been any of the rest of the idiots who go around giving Conservatism a damned black eye? …and not someone who was in the business of actually HELPING people? Instead of someone, like this idiot, who loves to mock and slander those who disagree with his Political ideologies?

Something is seriously wrong with the modern day Republican Party. If it does not change, the Republican Party is going to be run to the damned rat holes for a rather long time.

Richard Viguerie says “Washington Politicians Again Covering Up True Size of Federal Deficit”

(Manassas, Virginia) Reacting to projections from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) that the Fiscal Year 2008 federal deficit will be about $400 Billion, the Chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, Richard A. Viguerie, issued the following statement:

“According to CBO, the current fiscal year, which ends on September 30, will end up with a deficit of $400 Billion. While this figure is shockingly high, the truth is that the actually deficit is a lot higher.

“The $400 Billion deficit is based on an accounting fraud called the Unified Budget, in which money borrowed from the Social Security Trust Fund and which is added to the National Debt, is counted as income for the annual budget.

“This kind of trickery by Republicans and Democrats would land officers of publicly held companies in prison.

“When you take the $186 Billion that is being borrowed from Social Security and add it to the $400 Billion deficit that is being acknowledged, you get the real deficit of $586 Billion.

“Raiding the Social Security Trust Fund to finance the general operations of the federal government is a direct attack on the financial security of senior citizens. Trying to cover it up through deception is unconscionable.

“As for Fiscal Year 2009, the Bush Administration projects a deficit of $482 Billion, but that does not include $36 Billion from the Housing Bill, $80 Billion in war costs, and $227 Billion borrowed from the Social Security Trust Fund. The actual deficit next year will be $825 Billion–$343 Billion more than has been acknowledged.

“While the Housing Bill passed late and no one really is sure what the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan will cost, it is inexcusable to pretend that the $227 Billion being borrowed from Social Security is an asset, rather than a debt that must be repaid.

“Republican and Democratic politicians should keep their hands off of Social Security surpluses. And they should start accounting honestly for the money borrowed from the Trust Fund.”

Richard A. Viguerie pioneered political direct mail and has been called “one of the creators of the modern conservative movement” (The Nation magazine) and one of the conservatives of the century” (The Washington Times). His latest book is Conservatives Betrayed: How George W. Bush and Other Big-Government Republicans Hijacked the Conservative Cause (Bonus Books), which, Jerome Corsi wrote in WorldNetDaily, is “destined to become a classic of conservative thinking” and “may be the most important conservative book written in the last quarter century.”

Ya know, I hate to make fun of people, but this too rich….

As you all know, I have WorldNetDaily in my sidebar. I like Joe Farah, even though he did act like a bit of a tool towards me once.

But someone needs to teach those guys how to use Google Adsense!

I was over looking around over there and I’m seeing the normal stuff, including an article on how wind will not solve our energy problems. Which doubles as a ad hawking Farah’s Magazine “Whistleblower”.

However, when I clicked on another page, I saw this, about mid-screen on the page.

wndhumor

You ever get the feeling that the right hand, doesn’t know what the left is doing over there at WorldNetDaily?

It’s called the Competitive Ad Filter people, Please, Look into it!

I think Joe Farah needs to hire me. Just so I can go around and keep him from looking like a blithering idiot. 😆 😉

Editorial: Russia and Democratic Neglect

One of the biggest issues with this Russian/Georgian conflict is the fact that there is a lack of verifiable information. One minute you hear that the conflict has ended and the fighting has stopped the very next, you hear that the fighting is still happening, and that the Russians are not honoring the cease-fire agreement. It is all rather confusing, and it makes for a very frustrated blogger. Because the last thing a blogger wants to be, is wrong.

However, more than that is the lack of the Main Stream Media’s ability to look at this entire conflict in a historical context. Many are pointing to the actions of Ronald Reagan for dissolving the Soviet Union Empire, as being the cause of this conflict. I happen to disagree with that notion. I believe personally that it was the foolish actions of President Harry Truman, that is the cause of this conflict or shall I say the harvest of seeds planted by Harry Truman’s actions.

On December 7, 1941, the empire of Japan attacked the United States naval base in Oahu, Hawaii. This act of brazen hostility brought the United States of America into World War II, despite President Franklin Roosevelt’s pledge to remain neutral in the ever-growing conflict. As history would show, The United States fought the war and finally Hitler was defeated, and Japan surrendered. However, the method used to end the war, is in my opinion the underlying cause of this conflict.

It is a known fact that the United States soundly defeated Hitler by fighting them on the ground and air, using conventional weapons. However, we stopped the war, and to end the conflict with Japan, we used atomic weapons. This I feel was a tragic mistake. This is because Truman was a different kind of a Democrat than Roosevelt. Roosevelt was an “old line” Democrat, who saw the Communist threat, knew what the Communist doctrine was truly about, the repression of freedom and he stood to defeat it. No matter how long it took.

However, Truman was another matter entirely. President Truman represented the “new line” of Democrats who felt that war was unneeded and that peace was a better path. This was a precursor to the “peacenik” Democrats of the sixties. This was evident when President Truman gave his infamous “Military Industrial Complex” speech, at the end of his term. * — See Below With Hitler out of the way, Truman, feeling the ever-increasing pressure to end the war and return the country to pre-war status, devised a plan to end the conflict with Japan.

While using the Atomic bomb might have been an effective means of ending a war, its impact and stain upon the United States would be long ranging, to this very day, is to be considered a very poor decision by the United States. On many websites in Japan, including those in English, denounce America as being brutal for dropping the bomb. However, those who had friends and relatives that died at Pearl Harbor felt that Japan got what it deserved.

It is in the opinion of this writer, that the United States should have fought the war, all the way to Russia, until communism was soundly defeated. Furthermore, The United States of America, should have never dropped the atomic bomb on the empire of Japan, but rather, should have fought that war on the ground, until Japan surrendered. This would have resulted in the total defeat of communism. However, as we all know, this never happened.

Because of this obtuse neglect, the United States of America began a “Cold War” with the empire of the Soviet Union that lasted until a Conservative President, a real conservative President, whom came on the scene in the eighties to plant the seeds that would eventually bring down the soviet empire. However, as we have seen here in the last few days, Russia is not a free and democratic society; it is simply a police state, without the outright communism.

Putin, a man who is sympathetic toward the old soviet empire, filled to the brim with communist doctrine, is wagging his finger in the face of the United States and making a mockery of the supposed democracy in the European continent. This is the harvest of the neglect of the Democratic Party of the forties.*

* Update: Oops! I blew it, Truman did NOT give the military-industrial complex speech, Dwight Eisenhower did. My bad. I blew it, I should have checked. 🙄 But my point about the Democrats and the cold war as it relates to Russia still stands.

Breaking News: Cindy McCain taken to Detroit area hospital…

Ouch, this had to hurt…

Cindy McCain Taken To Hospital (via WXYZ.com)

Republican John McCain’s wife has been treated for a “minor sprain” after someone at a campaign event in Michigan shook her hand firmly.

A campaign spokeswoman says Cindy McCain left the West Bloomfield, Mich., campaign event Wednesday for X-rays at a local hospital after an enthusiastic supporter squeezed too much.

McCain’s wife has had previous surgeries for carpal Tunnel Syndrome and the handshake exacerbated the condition.

Spokeswoman Jill Hazelbaker says Mrs. McCain will campaign as planned on Thursday.

The jokes write themselves.

But seriously… I hope she does get better.

Egad, More Republican Stupidity.

You know, I’ve heard some rather STUPID remarks come out the of the mouths of Republicans since I have been blogging. But this right here, takes the cake.

GOP floor revolt over inaction continues (via OneNewsNow.com)

House Republicans say they will continue their floor revolt over gas prices during the congressional recess until Nancy Pelosi allows an up-or-down vote on offshore oil drilling. Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-Minnesota) says she plans to return to Washington to join in the protest.

“[Pelosi] is committed to her global warming fanaticism to the point where she has said that she’s just trying to save the planet. We all know that someone did that over 2,000 years ago, they saved the planet — we didn’t need Nancy Pelosi to do that,” says Bachmann.

Okay, this is where I get on my Christian doctrine soapbox, so, if you’re offended by such talk. Stop here, please. Because I am about unleash some doctrine talk.

First of all, Jesus Christ, who is the only begotten Son of the Living God, did not DIE for this God-Forsaken, Sin-Depraved Planet. In fact, if you read the book of Revelation, this planet is going to burn, after the rapture of the Church. Jesus Christ died for the sin of mankind. Some would even say that he died for his sheep alone and NOT for the entire human race. It all depends on one’s doctrinal stance, and one’s interpretation of the book of Romans. If you’re a Calvinist, you believe in the Salvation of the “elect”, as it is called in the King James Bible, if you’re a “free will” person, you believe in the Salvation of mankind.

So, I am not sure what part of this woman’s anal cavity this woman got this little comment, but she needs to keep digging. Because she pulled out a real stinker.

Russia halts bombing, finger pointing starts

It is truly worse than having to babysit children. But now that the Bombing in Georgia has stopped, The childish finger pointing has started.

The NYT reports:

President Dmitri A. Medvedev of Russia announced Tuesday that he agreed to a European peace proposal and had ordered a halt to his country’s military operation in Georgia, although he did not say that troops were pulling out and he insisted that Russian forces were still authorized to fire on enemies in South Ossetia.

The president said Russia had achieved its military goals in five days of fighting, during which Russian troops advanced into Georgian territory despite strong denunciations from President Bush and other Western leaders.

But fighting appeared to continue in Georgia on Tuesday — with reports of sporadic bombing and some Russian troops digging in around Georgian cities — and it was uncertain whether Mr. Medvedev’s statement would lead to an end to hostilities.

Despite the uncertainties, President Nicolas Sarkozy of France, who was in Moscow to try to mediate the crisis, hailed Mr. Medvedev’s decision. Other senior Western officials said they thought a cease-fire proper was imminent. Later, Mr. Sarkozy and Mr. Medvedev held a news conference on the peace proposal, which calls for Russian forces to withdraw from Georgia. It was unclear whether it called for a full withdrawal from South Ossetia and Abkhazia, nor what kind of timetable might be involved.

While this is a good thing to hear, if the reports that the bombing has ceased are true. But now however, the blame game is starting. Mikhail Gorbachev blames Georgia, and by proxy, the United States, for this beginning of the hostilities. He writes in a Washington Post Op-Ed:

The past week’s events in South Ossetia are bound to shock and pain anyone. Already, thousands of people have died, tens of thousands have been turned into refugees, and towns and villages lie in ruins. Nothing can justify this loss of life and destruction. It is a warning to all.

The roots of this tragedy lie in the decision of Georgia’s separatist leaders in 1991 to abolish South Ossetian autonomy. This turned out to be a time bomb for Georgia’s territorial integrity. Each time successive Georgian leaders tried to impose their will by force — both in South Ossetia and in Abkhazia, where the issues of autonomy are similar — it only made the situation worse. New wounds aggravated old injuries.

Nevertheless, it was still possible to find a political solution. For some time, relative calm was maintained in South Ossetia. The peacekeeping force composed of Russians, Georgians and Ossetians fulfilled its mission, and ordinary Ossetians and Georgians, who live close to each other, found at least some common ground.

Through all these years, Russia has continued to recognize Georgia’s territorial integrity. Clearly, the only way to solve the South Ossetian problem on that basis is through peaceful means. Indeed, in a civilized world, there is no other way.

[….]

Mounting a military assault against innocents was a reckless decision whose tragic consequences, for thousands of people of different nationalities, are now clear. The Georgian leadership could do this only with the perceived support and encouragement of a much more powerful force. Georgian armed forces were trained by hundreds of U.S. instructors, and its sophisticated military equipment was bought in a number of countries. This, coupled with the promise of NATO membership, emboldened Georgian leaders into thinking that they could get away with a “blitzkrieg” in South Ossetia.

In other words, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili was expecting unconditional support from the West, and the West had given him reason to think he would have it. Now that the Georgian military assault has been routed, both the Georgian government and its supporters should rethink their position.

[….]

Over the past few days, some Western nations have taken positions, particularly in the U.N. Security Council, that have been far from balanced. As a result, the Security Council was not able to act effectively from the very start of this conflict. By declaring the Caucasus, a region that is thousands of miles from the American continent, a sphere of its “national interest,” the United States made a serious blunder. Of course, peace in the Caucasus is in everyone’s interest. But it is simply common sense to recognize that Russia is rooted there by common geography and centuries of history. Russia is not seeking territorial expansion, but it has legitimate interests in this region.

The international community’s long-term aim could be to create a sub-regional system of security and cooperation that would make any provocation, and the very possibility of crises such as this one, impossible. Building this type of system would be challenging and could only be accomplished with the cooperation of the region’s countries themselves. Nations outside the region could perhaps help, too — but only if they take a fair and objective stance. A lesson from recent events is that geopolitical games are dangerous anywhere, not just in the Caucasus.

As much as I hate to admit it. He does have a point. It did seem the the western media here in America did come out against Russia. Bush and Co. did prop up Georgia as an ally, only to stand by idly as Russia moved in tanks and began bombing that country. This was possibly a costly mistake. It does do further damage to President Bush, it makes him look weak in the eyes of the Georgians and to the rest in that region.

Whether the rest of the conservative world wants to admit it or not. The next President of the United States is going to have a BUNCH of mopping up to do, no matter whom elected, they are going to have their work cut out for them. I just hope that whomever is elected, has the courage and the intestinal fortitude to deal with the mess that will be left in the White House after this current administration has left. I pity that person greatly, I would not want to be in that persons shoes, at all.

Of course, this is the same little twit, who when challenged by Vox Day to debate on one of her far right wing screed books, refused to debate him. Perhaps it would be because that she knew, that if she tried to debate Vox, that she would lose, badly.

With that, I’m letting it be known, that I will not be returning to Ed Morrissey’s show on HotAir.com, I held my tongue over there, and realized that Michelle was not running the show. So, I would come over and listen to Ed and hang out in the chat room with Ed and the other Bloggers. Ed Morrissey, I felt, was a more reasonable Republican and Conservative, and not that far right screed, Fox News type, and for the record, he is not. But I cannot continue to go to a site ran by someone who promotes the suppression of free speech, and furthermore promotes a hate filled ageda.

Sorry Ed, but until you separate yourself from Michelle and all of her affiliated Blogs. I won’t be returning to the show. I know, you most likely do not care. I’m just one Blogger, one blogger who is not one of Malkin’s fans.

I wish Ed the best, but this little party just turned ugly for me.

Some people just need to get the hell over themselves and quit hanging on to the past, and quit eating sour grapes. The really funny part is, Michelle Malkin claims to be a Born Again Christian, if that’s Christianity, I’d rather be an damned Atheist. Then again, I do not consider roman catholics to be Christians anyhow… read this book to find out why.

This is the first and last thing, I will ever say about this subject.

Possibly one of the weakest responses to a situation…Ever

Okay, call me a cynic, call me a jerk, call me a… whatever… But this is just weak

I mean, Bush essentially went out and said… “Bad Russia, Bad!” But offered absolutely no repercussions, if Russia continued to attack Georgia. No threats of invasion, nothing.

He could have done better, in my opinion. It just sounded weak.

Linkfest Haven, the Blogger's Oasis

You know you’re damn good Blogger

When Vanity fair writes snarky articles about you.

Seriously, I hope Jeff is not serious about going away. I mean, we conservative Bloggers, in our various forms are quite the thin breed.

For the bloody damned record, I like Jeff’s Blog. I’ve always enjoyed Protein Wisdom’s roughshod style of Conservative writing. (Except maybe when it was directed at me… 🙄 ) While I don’t peek over there daily, I do like to read his and his co-Bloggers take of stories in the headlines. It makes for a complete conversation. A Political conversation without completness is just fucking boring.

Yeah, I admit it, I’ve gotten my share of shit from Jeff and his group of writers over there, especially back in the “The Populist” days. Fuck, some of it, I had coming, some of it bordered on criminal, but I did survive. I also learned some lessons about Liberals, the cowardly bastards that they are. Socialists for all their bravado, when the rubber meets the road and one of their “supposed” own is in trouble, are very much the cowardly bunch. Fucking bastards. I also learned that Blog wars are quite silly, especially ones of your making.

I also learned some hard lessons in Blogging, never make stupid assed comments, unless you know ALL the facts, sometimes trying to channel Ann Coulter is not always the cool thing to do. Because done the wrong way, can make you look like a complete asshat.

I do truly hope that Jeff is able to resolve his internal conflicts and is able to continue. I mean, after all the shit that he has been through in the past. It would just seem to me to be a bit wasteful to just throw in the towel, because of some douche-bag guest blogger decided to act like some sort of a tool.

So, Jeff, if you happen to read this, ya fucking tool, turn your god damned sitemeter back on, and get your sorry ass back to blogging, because I’ll be fucking damned, if I’m going to be the only mother fucker outside of Malkin defending the damn shop. That’s an order!

I mean, seriously, What the fuck? Is blogging dying or something? First it’s Ed Morrissey going to HotAir, Middle Earth Journal stops Blogging, and now this? Is this a trend? fucking aye already!

Russia warns of push into Georgia, The United States Government does nothing…

You know, I am going to say a few things about this, and I am most likely am going to be accused of either being a Bush-hater or a Neo-Conservative and Possibly even a Neo-Libertarian or even the highest honor of all, a Chickenhawk… But this crap needs to be said.

The Story: Officials: Russia warns of push into Georgia – (Via CNN.com)

Russian troops have warned they intend to push further into western Georgia, Georgian officials claimed Sunday as an increasingly violent territorial dispute in the former Soviet state threatened to spiral into a major international conflict.

The apparent move came after Georgian troops began withdrawing from South Ossetia, a breakaway region where military action by Tbilisi last week triggered a full scale military clash with Russia that some say has left hundreds dead.

Russia’s military action — which Moscow claims is a legitimate peacekeeping mission in response to Georgian aggression — has provoked criticism from the U.S., which Sunday condemned it as “disproportionate.”

Growing concerns over the conflict have threatened to spill over Georgia’s borders with Ukraine Sunday saying it might ban Russia’s fleet from Crimea bases after it mobilized off the coast of Abkhazia, another breakaway region.

Analysts say Russia is trying to assert its authority in the former Soviet Union territories, where it claims many people have greater allegiance to Moscow than to Western-leaning Tbilisi, a U.S. ally vying for NATO membership.

Violence has escalated over several days with claims of war planes shot down on either side and accusations of civilian casualties in bombing raids. Russia has claimed up to 2,000 people have died. Georgia puts the figure much lower.

As Russian troops took control in South Ossetia, the breakaway province where long-running tensions exploded into conflict last Thursday, the dispute threatened to open up on a second front Sunday.

Georgian Interior Ministry spokesman Shota Utiashvili said Russian forces plan to move into the city of Zugdidi, which is beyond the border of the second Georgian restive province of Abkhazia.

White House Deputy National Security Advisor Jim Jeffrey said the United States was urgently looking into the report, saying that it would be a very serious escalation for Russia to move into Georgia beyond the Abkhazia region.

My questions are this:

  • Where the hell is our damned President!?!?!?
  • Why isn’t President Bush telling Russia to either back off of Georgia or face a full scale attack by the United States and it’s allies?
  • Why is Bush over in a damned communist foreign country and being mettlesome in their affairs?
  • Could it be that he is more interested in playing “Kissy Face” to the Chinese government, so they will send us more money? Than he is helping defend a small country being picked on by a communist oppressor?

I’m sorry folks, but this truly does tweak me off. Why is our President more interested in playing “Kissy Kissy” bunch of Communists, Than he is making sure the peace and stability of the Georgia – Russian region is not preserved?

If I were President of the United States, I would make a public announcement that Russia had 48 hours to withdraw all forces from the region of Georgia or they would face a full scale air assault from the United States and it’s allies, and face a ground assault from the allied forces. I believe that it is high time, that the United States of America has finally defeated that totalitarian communist regime, once and for all. Sorry, I do not buy the epic lie that the Country of Russia is a free society, that my friends, is a smokescreen and a lie to fool the rest of the world.

Well, Mr. President, what is it going to be, action or cowardice?

Update: Since I posted this, a video has surfaced on the net, explaining what is really going on in Russia. Click here to watch it.

Obama’s Magic fades

……….and I could not be more pleased. 😀

Via McClatchy Washington Bureau:

Barack Obama has lost ground among some of his strongest bases of support, including young people, women, Democrats and independents, according to a new ATV/Zogby poll.

The Illinois Democrat has also lost some support among African-Americans and Hispanics, where his lead over Republican John McCain has shrunk, and among Catholics, where he’s lost his lead.

The net result, pollster John Zogby found, is a race that’s neck and neck, with McCain supported by 42 percent; Obama by 41 percent; Libertarian Bob Barr by 2 percent; and independent Ralph Nader by 2 percent. Another 13 percent supported other candidates or were undedcided.

Zogby called the results a “notable turnaround” from a July survey he did that showed Obama leading by 46-36.

“McCain made signifciant gains at Obama’s expense among some of what had been Obama’s strongest demographic groups,” Zogby said.

His findings:

-Among voters aged 18-29, Obama lost 16 percent and McCain gained 20. Obama still leads, 49-38;

-Among women, McCain gained 10 percentage points. Obama now leads 43-38;

-Among independents, Obama lost an 11 point lead. They’re now tied;

-Among Democrats, Obama’s support dropped from 83 percent to 74 percent;

-Among Catholics, Obama lost the 11 point lead he had in July and now trails McCain by 15.

Looks like the veneer has worn off of Obama and people are beginning to see that idiot Marxist Liberal for what he is. Not only this, John McCain found a campaign message that is finally sticking and is making Obama look like a total inexperienced buffoon. The trip overseas also did not make Obama look good at all.

Not to mention, like I said before, Obama played McCain’s hand on race, whether if he knew it or not. This did not resonate well with middle America, AKA White America. Not only this, general black population does not view Obama as truly authentic. This does not do him well, because he is relying on the black vote. If he looses the Black Vote and looses Middle America. We will be looking at another Republican President.

Personally, as a Libertarian Paleo-Conservative, the idea of another Neo-Conservative in the White House, makes me cringe. However, the idea of a Marxist in the White House scares me to high Heaven. I guess it is the lesser of two evils. That is, of course, you vote for a third party candidate, which we all know is basically tossing a vote out the window.

The Reading Room: WHAT WILL BE ILLEGAL WHEN HOMOSEXUALITY IS LEGAL

This is from a Baptist Missionary’s Mailing list, that I am on….
—-

If homosexuality is fully legalized and homosexual activists are given every right they demand, citizens in western nations will be robbed of many liberties they have heretofore enjoyed. This is not a guess; it is a judgment based on current facts. The right to free speech and the right to the free exercise of religion, in particular, will be effectively destroyed.

WHEN HOMOSEXUALITY IS FULLY LEGAL, YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO SAY ANYTHING THAT MIGHT APPEAR BIASED AGAINST HOMOSEXUALITY.

In 1997 Jo Ann Knight was fired by the Connecticut Department of Public Health after she counseled a homosexual couple from the Bible about salvation and about the necessity of repenting of sin. Knight’s job was to supervise the provision of medical services by Medicare agencies to home health care patients, and in that capacity she interviewed patients. The homosexuals filed a complaint with the Commission on Human Rights. A district court upheld Knight’s dismissal, claiming that her religious speech caused her clients distress and interfered with the performance of her duties.

In 2000 Evelyn Bodett was fired by CoxCom Cable for expressing her biblical views against homosexuality to a lesbian subordinate. They claimed that she was thereby “coercing and harassing” the lesbian contrary to company policy. The lesbian, Kelley Carson, had sought Bodett’s advice in regard to a recent breakup with her homosexual partner, and Bodett gave her biblical counsel that homosexuality is a sin. Carson complained about the matter to a supervisor. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected Bodett’s religious discrimination suit.

In 2001 Richard Peterson was fired by Hewlett-Packard after he posted Bible verses condemning homosexuality. Peterson, who had worked for HP for nearly 21 years, posted the verses in response to the company’s diversity policy that requires acceptance of homosexuality. The Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in 2004 that Peterson was not discriminated against because of his religious beliefs. Commenting on the case, Stephen Crampton, chief counsel for the American Family Association’s Center for Law & Policy, said: “The new rule in the workplace seems to be: The Bible is out; diversity is in” (“Using Caesar’s Sword,” AgapePress, March 19, 2004).

In 2002 homosexual activists tried to get the Ferndale City Council in Michigan to fire volunteer police chaplain Tom Hansen for stating his biblical views against homosexuality. The organization Soulforce claimed that Hansen, the pastor of a Baptist church, was committing “spiritual violence” against homosexuals by saying that it is sinful. The divided city council opted not to dismiss the pastor, but it did issue a resolution condemning him for his “anti-gay” views.

In 2002 Rolf Szabo was fired by Eastman Kodak for objecting to the company’s diversity policy. The program, which is called “Winning & Inclusive Culture,” allows no “negative comments” toward “gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered” employees. After the company sent out an email memo in October 2002 announcing “coming out” day for homosexual employees and demanding that they be given full acceptance and encouragement, Rolf replied to the same mailing list (1,000 employees), “Please do not send this type of information to me anymore, as I find it disgusting and offensive. Thank you.” For refusing to apologize and submit to diversity sensitivity training, Rolf was fired. He had worked for Kodak for 23 years.

In 2002 in Saskatchewan, Canada, the StarPhoenix newspaper of Saskatoon and Hugh Owens were ordered to pay $1,500 to three homosexual activists for publishing an ad in the newspaper in 1997 quoting Bible verses regarding homosexuality. The advertisement displayed references to four Bible passages (Romans 1, Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13 and 1 Corinthians 6:9-10) on the left side. An equal sign (=) was situated in the middle, with a symbol on the right side comprised of two males holding hands with the universal sign of a red circle with a diagonal bar superimposed over the top. Owens bought the ad and the StarPhoenix merely printed it. The Human Rights Commission’s ruling was appealed to the courts. In February 2003 the Court of Queen’s Bench in Saskatchewan refused to overturn it, with Justice J. Barclay saying the advertisement was an incitement to hatred. But in April 2006 the ruling was overturned by the Saskatchewan Court of Appeals (“Court Reverses Ruling,” WorldNetDaily, April 14, 2006).

In 2003 the city of Oakland, California, labeled a flier posted on a workplace bulletin board as “homophobic” because it used the terms “the natural family and marriage” (Suit to Decide Workplace ‘Hate Speech,’” The Washington Times, June 11, 2007). The flier, which was posted by Regina Rederford and Robin Christy, was removed after a lesbian complained to the city attorney’s office that it made her feel “excluded.” When Rederford and Christy sued the city, claiming their First Amendment rights had been violated, they lost at the local, state, and federal level, with the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling against them. The case has been appealed to the Supreme Court.

In June 2004 Pentecostal Pastor Ake Green in Sweden became the first pastor in the European Union to be charged under hate crimes. He was convicted for denouncing homosexuality as “abnormal,” “something sick,” and “a deep cancerous tumor in the body of society” and sentenced to one month in jail. The conviction was overturned by an appeals court.

In October 2004 eleven Christians with the Repent America organization who were protesting a homosexual “Outfest” in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, were arrested and charged with a laundry list of crimes. In February 2005 four members of the group stood trial on three felony and five misdemeanor counts and the judge dismissed all charges. Common Pleas Court Judge Pamela Dembe said, “We cannot stifle speech because we don’t want to hear it, or we don’t want to hear it now” (“Judge Drops Charges,” Baptist Press, Feb. 18, 2005). (Homosexual activists claim that the group was disrupting their program and refusing police requests to move, but the judge ruled that they did nothing illegal.) Repent America uses placards such as “God Abhors You.”

In 2005 in Alberta Fred Henry, Roman Catholic bishop of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, was subject to two complaints before the Alberta Human Rights Commission after publishing a pastoral letter defending the traditional definition of marriage earlier that same year. (“Canada’s Human Rights Beef with Catholics,” Zenit, Feb. 5, 2008). Bishop Henry told Zenit: “The social climate right now is that we’re into a new form of censorship and thought control, and the commissions are being used as thought police.”

In January 2006, Catholic city councilman John Decicco of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, was fined $1,000 and required to apologize for saying that homosexuality is “not normal or natural” (LifeSiteNews, Jan. 19, 2007). In his remarks, which were made in a city council meeting, DeCicco was expressing the official doctrine of his church. The fine goes to two homosexual activists who brought the complaint. DeCicco was also forced to issue a public statement that his comments were “inappropriate and hurtful to some.” DeCiccco told LifeSiteNews, “I’m not against lesbian and gay people, but I don’t agree that I should have to endorse it.”

After he preached against homosexuality at a fellow officer’s funeral in September 2006, Sgt. Eric Holyfield of the Los Angeles Police Department was removed from his position in community relations, moved back to patrol duty, and passed over for promotions and pay raises (“Police Office Sues LAPD and Los Angeles, Alleging Religious Discrimination,” Los Angeles Times, July 2, 2008). In his euology, Holyfield, who is also a pastor, quoted Bible verses proving that homosexuality is an abomination before God and said that one must repent or be condemned to hell. Holyfield’s commanding officer, Charlie Beck, who was present at the funeral, filed a formal complaint against him.

In February 2007 complaints were brought before the Human Rights Commission in Canada targeting Catholic Insight magazine and priest Alphonse De Valk, a well-known pro-life activist, for quoting from the Bible and church documents to refute “same-sex marriage.” The complaint was brought by homosexual activist Rob Wells, a member of the Gay, Lesbian and Transgendered Pride Center of Edmonton. He accuses the magazine of promoting “extreme hatred and contempt” against homosexuals. De Valk says, “The basic view of the Church is that homosexual acts are a sin, but we love the sinner,” adding that opposing same-sex marriage is not the same as rejecting homosexuals as persons (“Canada’s Human Rights Beef with Catholics,” Zenit, Feb. 5, 2008).

In 2007 the Christian Heritage Party of Canada and its leader Ron Gray were investigated by the Canadian Human Rights Commission (CHRC) after a homosexual activist complained that he was offended by material on the party’s web site. The activist, Rob Wells, has also launched complaints against Craig Chandler in Alberta and Alphonse de Valk and Catholic Insight magazine. One of the articles that Wells complained about was an April 29, 2002, report published by WorldNetDaily in America citing a study that found that pedophilia is more common among homosexuals (http://wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=27431). Another article, written by Ron Gray, protested Canada’s bill to legalize same-sex marriage. Gray told LifeSiteNews: “Christians are probably the best friends homosexuals have in the world because we want to see them delivered from an addiction that will shorten their lives in this world and condemn them in the next. I’m not motivated by hate at all. I would guess that very few if any real Christians are motivated by hate in their response to these issues. It’s a question of compassion. Who truly loves you, someone who tells you the truth even when it hurts, or someone who will tell you you’re okay even when you’re headed down the wrong road. The Scripture says, ‘Faithful are the wounds of a friend, and deceitful are the kisses of an enemy’” (“Christian Political Party before Human Rights Commission,” LifeSiteNews, Nov. 27, 2007). He added: “I really think this is a crucial case because if an agency of the government, which the CHRC is, can tell a political party what it may and may not include in its political statements we have gone way down the road to totalitarianism.”

In June 2007 a coalition of protestant churches in Brazil was ordered to halt their campaign “In Defense of the Family” and to remove billboards that said, “Homosexuality: God made them man and woman, and saw that it was good!” “A court order decreed the removal of the billboards and the cancellation of a public event scheduled by the coalition to further the defense of family values, claiming that it was ‘homophobic’” (“Brazil Attacks against Family Defenders,” LifeSiteNews, July 30, 2007).

In June 2008 Stephen Boisson, an evangelical youth pastor, was banned from expressing opposition to homosexuality in any public forum and ordered to pay $7,000 “damages for pain and suffering” to the homosexual activist who brought the complaint. The trouble began in 2002 when Boisson wrote a letter to the editor of the Red Deer Advocate newspaper in Alberta and denounced the advance of homosexual activism in the schools. Printed under the heading “Homosexual Agenda Wicked,” the letter said: “Children as young as five and six years of age are being subjected to psychologically and physiologically damaging pro-homosexual literature and guidance in the public school system; all under the fraudulent guise of equal rights.” This offended a homosexual teacher named Darren Lund who complained to the Alberta Human Rights Tribunal.

In July 2008 Marcia Walden was fired from her counseling job with Computer Sciences Corporation after she referred a homosexual patient to another counselor for same-sex relationship advice (“Counselor Fired over Christian Beliefs,” OneNewsNow, July 18, 2008)>

WHEN HOMOSEXUALITY IS FULLY LEGAL, YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO CONDUCT MINISTRIES TO HELP HOMOSEXUALS LEAVE THAT LIFESTYLE

The following is excerpted from “Now It’s EX-‘gays’ getting pummeled,” WorldNetDaily, May 28, 2008:

“Regina Griggs, the executive director of Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays, said her organization and staff members repeatedly have been attacked simply because of their message: that there are such individuals as former homosexuals. Some attacks have been physical, such as the 2007 incident at the Arlington County Fair. …

“Griggs said at the time, ‘The gays became infuriated when our ex-gay volunteers testified about leaving homosexuality. … One gay man went so far as to hit our ex-gay volunteer because he refused to recant his ex-gay testimony.’

“The fair was one of the events to which PFOX was admitted. Several other major influences in America today, including the National Education Association, and the Parent-Teachers Association, simply refuse to allow PFOX to appear at their events.

“Those who condemn homosexuality also face electronic badgering. When Sally Kern, an Oklahoma lawmaker, vocally rejected the homosexual lifestyle choice as a threat, she was inundated with tens of thousands of e-mails in a coordinated attack on her beliefs. Some of the e-mails threatened her. …

“Griggs told WND the movement is becoming more aggressive in teaching that homosexuality is something people are born with, not something they choose for whatever reasons.

“‘We have a school board teaching homosexuality is innate. We have judges ruling schools are not required to teach fact-based [sex education] information. Basically they are silencing anyone who holds a different opinion. Their sole concern is about advancing that homosexuality is normal, natural and healthy and should have all the equal benefits of marriage. If you come at it from a Christian perspective, that makes you a homophobe,’ she said, citing the case of a University of Toledo administrator who was fired for expressing her personal Christian testimony regarding homosexuality. ‘They’re not seeking equality; they’re seeking total control,’ she said. …

“‘Each year thousands of men and women with same-sex attractions make the personal decision to leave homosexuality by means of reparative therapy, ex-gay ministry or group counseling. Their choice is one only they can make. However, there are others who refuse to respect that choice, and endeavor to attack the ex-gay community. Consequently, ex-gays are subject to an increasingly hostile environment where they are reviled or attacked as perpetrators of hate and discrimination simply because they dare to exist,’ Griggs said.”

WHEN HOMOSEXUALITY IS FULLY LEGAL YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO USE THE TERMS FATHER/MOTHER, HUSBAND/WIFE

The legalization of homosexuality is already beginning to destroy the concept of father and mother, husband and wife.

The new marriage licenses in California replace “husband and wife” with “Party A and Party B.”

In Scotland, teachers in some major cities have banned Father’s Day cards this year so as not to offend students who live with single mothers and lesbians. The London Telegraph reports, “The politically correct policy was quietly adopted at schools ‘in the interests of sensitivity’ over the growing number of lone-parent and same-sex households” (“Father’s Day Cards Banned,” June 20, 2008).

Last year Scotland’s National Health Service approved a policy for hospital workers mis-titled “Fair For All.” In fact, the policy is “fair” for no one, because it destroys the right of free speech and forbids the use of historic and biblical terms such as “mother” and “father” (since some patients might have two mothers or two fathers) and “husband” and “wife,” labeling this “homophobic language.” Such terms must be replaced with “partner” or “they/them” (Ed Vitagliano, “There is only one acceptable way to talk about homosexuality — SILENCE!” OneNewsNow.com, May 31, 2007). The policy is to be strictly enforced.

In May 2007 the California state senate passed bill SB 777. If approved by the state assembly and signed by the governor, it will ban any speech in the public school system that “reflects or promotes bias against” homosexuality, transgenders, bisexuals, or those who “perceived” gender issues. The ban would apply even to discussions. Randy Thomasson of the Campaign for Children and Families warns that references to “mother” and “father” would probably be banned if this idiotic policy becomes law (“Lawmakers Pass Redefinition of ‘Sex,” The Berean Call, June 8, 2007).

WHEN HOMOSEXUALITY IS FULLY LEGAL, YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO REFUSE TO SERVE HOMOSEXUALS IN YOUR BUSINESS.

In 2001 in Toronto, Ontario, printer Scott Brockie was fined $5,000 for refusing to print homosexual-themed stationery for the Canadian Gay and Lesbian Archives. The human rights commissioner in this case was Heather MacNaughton.

In 2001 a Christian gynecologist at the North Coast Women’s Care Medical Group in Vista, California, was sued by a lesbian for refusing to provide in vitro fertilization treatment due to his religious convictions. Dr. Christine Brody has religious objections to pregnancy and childbirth outside of marriage, but a fellow physician referred Benitez to an outside specialist and the clinic agreed to pay any cost involved in the fact that the specialist was not covered by the lesbian’s health insurance (“Another Type of Conscientious Objector,” American Civil Rights Union Blog, April 30, 2007). In spite of that and in spite of the fact that she became pregnant and bore a healthy son, Guadalupe Benitez sued. In May 2008 the California Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the case. “Legal experts believe that the woman’s right to medical treatment will trump the doctor’s religious beliefs. One justice suggested that the doctors take up a different line of business” (“When Gay Rights and Religious Liberties Clash,” National Public Radio, June 13, 2008).

In 2005 a British Columbia Knights of Columbus council was ordered to pay $2,000 to two lesbians, plus their legal costs, for refusing to allow its facility to be used for their “wedding.” The human rights commissioner in this case was Heather MacNaughton.

In 2007, after a Methodist organization in New Jersey refused to rent its facility to a lesbian couple for their civil union ceremony, a complaint was filed with the state Division of Civil Rights. It ruled against the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association, saying that since the property was open for public use, it could not discriminate against homosexuals. The state revoked their tax exemption for the property. Pastor Scott Hoffman, administrator for the Association, says they refused to rent the facility because of the theological principle that marriage is between a man and a woman. They are appealing to the state court system. The complaint came soon after New Jersey legalized same sex civil unions.

In April 2008 the New Mexico Human Rights Commission fined a Christian photography studio $6,600 for discriminating against homosexuals. Elaine Huguenin and her husband Jon, co-owners of Elane Photography in Albuquerque, politely refused to photograph a lesbian couple’s “commitment ceremony.” One of the lesbians, Vanessa Willock, filed a complaint with the New Mexico Human Rights Commission claiming the Huguenins discriminated against her because of her “sexual orientation.” Jordan Lorence, a lawyer with the Alliance Defense Fund that is representing the Huguenins, said: “This decision is a stunning disregard for religious liberty and First Amendment freedoms of people of faith, of Christians, and those who believe in traditional marriage defined as one man and one woman. This shows the very disconcerting, authoritarian face of the homosexual activists, who are using these non-discrimination laws as weapons against Christians in the business world and Christians in their churches” (“New Mexico Commission Orders Fine,” OneNewsNow, April 11, 2008). Lorence believes the Huguenins will win an appeal of the decision, but he warns this is how similar laws in 19 other states, and the proposed federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act, can be misused to silence biblical beliefs.

WHEN HOMOSEXUALITY IS FULLY LEGAL, YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO TURN DOWN A HOMOSEXUAL FOR A JOB.

In January 2002 the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal levied a fine of $7500 against the Vancouver Rape Relief Society for its refusal to allow a male-to-female “transsexual” named Kimberly Dawn to train as a rape and abuse hotline counsellor. In an article at its web site dated April 16, 2000, the society argued that it operates as a women-only society and that it is not wrong to exclude an individual who has grown up as a man and who its clients might not accept as a woman. The original complaint was brought in 1995. The tribunal commissioner who imposed the heavy-fisted sentence was Heather MacNaughton.

In July 2007 a homosexual man won a job discrimination claim against the Church of England. After John Reaney was turned down for a youth worker’s post in Cardiff, Wales, he complained to the government that he was being unlawfully discriminated against on the basis of his sexual orientation. The employment tribunal agreed. Homosexual activists rejoiced at the ruling. One said that the “church must learn that denying people jobs on the ground of their sexuality is no longer acceptable” (“Gay Christian Wins Job Tribunal against Church of England,” Daily Mail, July 18, 2007).

WHEN HOMOSEXUALITY IS FULLY LEGAL, YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO ENFORCE PUBLIC NUDITY LAWS.

In June 2008 transgender activists removed their clothing in a public rally in Northampton, Massachusetts. The chose Northampton, because it is one of three cities in Massachusetts that have ordinances forbidding discrimination against transsexuals. Amy Contrada, a leader in the pro-family movement MassResistance, explained: “With anti-discrimination ordinances in place, there’s no way a policeman would arrest a woman for being shirtless, because she could say she’s not a woman, and under the ordinance, she gets to determine whether she’s female or not” (“Transgender Activists Remove Clothing in Public,” WorldNetDaily, June 17, 2008).

WHEN HOMOSEXUALITY IS FULLY LEGAL, YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO HAVE WOMEN ONLY PUBLIC RESTROOMS.

In June 2008 Gov. Bill Ritter of Colorado signed a law making it illegal to deny a person access to public accommodations, including restrooms and locker rooms, based on gender identity or even the “PERCEPTION” of gender identity (“Biblical Message Now Criminalized,” WorldNetDaily, June 12, 2008). James Dobson said: “Who would have believed that the Colorado state legislature and its governor would have made it fully legal for men to enter and use women’s restrooms and locker-room facilities without notice or explanation? Henceforth, every woman and little girl will have to fear that a predator, bisexual, cross-dresser or even a homosexual or heterosexual male might walk in and relieve himself in their presence.”

This type of thing is already happening in Massachusetts. Consider the public hearing at the State House on March 4, 2008. The hearing was of the Joint Committee of the Judiciary on the “transgender rights and hate crimes bill” and it was dominated by homosexual activists. MassResistance reported: “We watched as a parade of men dressed as women going into the State House ladies’ restroom, and women into the men’s room–while inside the hearing the activists were unusually honest about their belief that transgender ‘rights’ will trump the public’s comfort with their behavior” (“When the Wicked Seize a State,” http://www.sliceoflaodicea.com).

WHEN HOMOSEXUALITY IS FULLY LEGAL, YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO REFUSE TO PLACE CHILDREN WITH HOMOSEXUAL COUPLES.

“Catholic Charities in Massachusetts refused to place children with same-sex couples as required by Massachusetts law. After a legislative struggle–during which the Senate president said he could not support a bill ‘condoning discrimination.’ Catholic Charities pulled out of the adoption business in 2006” (“When Gay Rights and Religious Liberties Clash,” National Public Radio, June 13, 2008).

“A same-sex couple in California applied to Adoption Profiles, an Internet service in Arizona that matches adoptive parents with newborns. The couple’s application was denied based on the religious beliefs of the company’s owners. The couple sued in federal district court in San Francisco. The two sides settled after the adoption company said it will no longer do business in California” (National Public Radio, June 13, 2008).

WHEN HOMOSEXUALITY IS FULLY LEGAL, YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO STOP HOMOSEXUALS FROM HAVING PUBLIC SEX.

When the mayor of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, proposed in July 2007 that the city spend $250,000 on robotic toilets for the beach to curb homosexual sex in public restrooms and parks, homosexual activists were up in arms. (The doors of the toilets automatically open after a certain period.) The homosexuals accused Mayor Jim Naugle of “hatred” and demanded an apology.

In response he did apologize, but not to the homosexuals. He said: “I was not aware of how serious the problem was of the sexual activity that’s taking place in bathrooms and public places and parks in Broward County and particularly the city of Fort Lauderdale. I’ve been educated on that, and I want to apologize to the parents and the children of our community for not being aware of the problem. This to me is totally unacceptable. I don’t think that in the name of being inclusive or tolerant any of us in the community should tolerate this” (“Fort Lauderdale Mayor Criticized,” Florida Baptist Witness, Aug. 2, 2007).

This further enraged the homosexuals, and they held a rally at city hall. Matt Foreman of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force called the mayor a “bigot” and said he should be “shunned everywhere he goes and not allowed at any gathering where decent people are.” City Commissioner Carlton Moore shouted, “We as a community must unite against hatred.”

Some public parks are listed on homosexual websites as recommended locations for immoral liaisons. In June 2008 Pennsylvania state park rangers arrested three men at such a park and accused them of lewd acts (“PA Park Rangers Crack Down,” OneNewsNow.com, June 18, 2008).

If homosexual activists get their way, and homosexuals are given license to act out their
“lifestyle” as they please, the response given by the Fort Lauderdale mayor and the actions of the park rangers will be illegal.

CONCLUSION

In a nutshell, the thing that will be illegal when homosexuality is fully legal is Bible-believing Christianity, but none of this is surprising to the Bible believer. The Lord Jesus Christ likened the last days to Sodom and Gomorrah (Luke 17:28-30). And the apostle Paul prophesied:

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away” (2 Timothy 3:1-5).
We are not surprised at the wickedness that is sweeping across the world, but it is our responsibility to take a stand for God’s Word until Jesus comes.

If we take freedom of speech and religion for granted and do not use it to proclaim God’s Word, we don’t deserve it.

And no matter how evil the hour is, we must not despair. We have all of the glorious promises of a God that cannot lie.

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:1-4).

Not a Surprise, But…: The Obamassiah can’t even attack McCain without fudging the facts.

What a fraud.

FactCheck.org:

Obama released a TV spot saying McCain’s campaign got $2 million from “Big Oil” while McCain proposed “another $4 billion in tax breaks” for the industry.

The truth is that McCain’s campaign has received $1.33 million from individuals employed in the oil and gas industry, not $2 million. Obama himself has received nearly $400,000, according to the most authoritative figures available. We find the $2 million figure is based on a mistaken calculation.

Furthermore, McCain is not proposing new tax breaks specifically targeted to the oil industry. He’s proposing a general reduction in the corporate income tax rate, which Democrats figure would benefit the five largest oil and gas companies by $3.8 billion.

*snort* Never mind the facts, just tell the America people what sounds good!

However, the Obamassiah isn’t a saint either:

Both candidates accept
donations from individual employees of oil companies. In fact, when
Obama claimed in an ad last March that “I don’t take money from oil
companies,” we criticized him for being a little too slick. The CRP puts Obama’s total from oil and gas donors at
$394,465.

So much for Barry’s Honesty in his politics. 🙄

It proves that Barry is a lying, slick, Chicago Politician, who will say and do anything, including deceiving the American people, to get elected. He did it in Chicago and now he is doing it in his White House bid.

A little advice for the Obamassiah, if he wants to preach Hope and Change, he can start by telling the truth. He can also follow that up by knocking off the Al Sharpton imitation in his campaign.

Speaking of corrupt Republicans

Via TPM Election Central

Ten senior Hess Corporation executives and/or members of the Hess family each gave $28,500 to the joint RNC-McCain fundraising committee, just days after McCain reversed himself to favor offshore drilling, according to Federal Election Commission reports.

Nine of these contributions, seven from Hess executives and two from members of the Hess family, came on the same day, June 24th, the records show. The total collected in the wake of McCain’s reversal for the fund, called McCain Victory 2008, from Hess execs and family is $285,000.

We were alerted to the contributions by Campaign Money Watch, a non-partisan group that tracks campaign contributions. The contributions were given a quick mention deep in a report the group issued late last week, but with no names or other details provided. The Hess contributions are clearly newsworthy on their own.

Color me quite unsurprised.
