Update on Democratic Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones

Update on this sad story:

She is not dead. But the prognoses is quite grim.

Video:

News is Via CNN:

Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones of Ohio, a Democratic superdelegate and one of Hillary Clinton’s most ardent supporters, was hospitalized in critical condition Wednesday after suffering an aneurysm, the hospital said.

< Dr. Gus Kious, chief of staff at Huron Hospital in East Cleveland, Ohio, said that Tubbs Jones had “very limited brain function” and that the aneurysm is in “an inaccessible part of her brain.”

“She remains in critical condition at present in our intensive care unit. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this very difficult time,” Kious said.

Earlier reports had said Tubbs Jones had died.

Hillary’s Statement:

This statement from Senator Clinton is in response to the news of Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones’s aneurysm and hospitalization. We are all praying for Stephanie and her family during this difficult time.

“Stephanie is a strong, remarkable woman with an incredible fighting spirit. My thoughts and prayers are with my dear friend Stephanie and her family at this difficult time,” said Senator Hillary Clinton.

Obama’s Statement:

Senator Barack Obama made the following statement regarding today’s news about Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones:

“Michelle and I are saddened to hear today’s news about Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones. She is a passionate and tireless advocate for the people of Cleveland and a devoted public servant for all Americans. We send our heartfelt prayers to Stephanie and her family at this very difficult time.”

This is a very sad story. What makes it worse, is the fact that some News agencies and yes, even some bloggers totally screwed the news up and reported her as dead. What makes it even worse is some idiotic Hillary supporters are going around saying that Obama had her killed. This is totally asinine. They should be ashamed of themselves for disrespecting the family like that.

As I wrote before, my thoughts and prayers are with the family on this truly sad day.

Update: Rep. Jones has died. RIP

Democratic Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones injured in a one car accident…

This came across twitter this afternoon. This story has not even reach national levels yet. CNN is now trying to confirm the story.

(H/T to BlogsOfWar)

Via Fox Cleveland:

U.S. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones remains unconscious Wednesday morning
after suffering an aneurysm while driving on Tuesday night.

According to a press release from Tubbs Jones office, the five term Congresswoman
was admitted to Huron Hospital after suffering an aneurysm while
driving her car in Cleveland Heights.

According to the release, Tubbs Jones condition has stabilized and she is receiving the best care available.

According to a spokesperson with the Cleveland Heights Police Department,
approximately 9:00 pm on Tuesday a Cleveland Heights Police Officer
observed Tubbs Jones car traveling eastbound on Mayfield Road, weaving
from side to side. At Lee Road the car turned left and the officer
followed. The car slid off the road into a grassy area near the
intersection of Lee Road and Monticello Boulevard.

Police tell Fox 8’s Todd Meany that the congresswoman was transported to Huron
Hospital in East Cleveland after what they are describing as a “one-car
accident.”

A statement from Tubbs Jones’ office indicated that Tuesday’s condition followed a full day of activity, including planning for an upcoming forum on electoral reform, scheduled for
September 4, 2008 at Cleveland State University. Congresswoman Tubbs Jones was scheduled to travel to Denver on August 24, 2008 to attend the Democratic National Convention as a superdelegate

You know Politics is one thing, but real life is another. This woman is/was a fighter, a real fighter. She would get on MSNBC and go toe to toe with Tucker Carlson. She once told Tucker Carlson to “Get a life”, live on the air. Which I thought was absolutely hilarious. It is a sad day in politics and in the black Community.

There is a good possibility that she might not be dead. Someone blew it somewhere…

Looks like Barry’s glow is fading fast….

Looks like people are waking up from the Obamassiah stupor and seeing the Marxist magic negro for what he really is. Which is a very good thing for America.

Via Zogby International.

As Russian tanks rolled into the Republic of Georgia and the presidential candidates met over the weekend in the first joint issues forum of the fall campaign, the latest polling includes drama almost as compelling – Republican John McCain has taken a five-point lead over Democrat Barack Obama in the race for President, the latest Reuters/Zogby telephone survey shows.

McCain leads Obama by a 46% to 41% margin.

And McCain not only enjoys a five-point edge in a two-way race against Obama, but also in a four-way contest including liberal independent candidate Ralph Nader and Libertarian Bob Barr, the poll reveals. In the four-way contest, McCain wins 44% support, Obama 39%, Barr 3% and Nader 2%.

This latest Reuters/Zogby poll is a dramatic reversal from the identical survey taken last month – in the July 9-13 Reuters/Zogby survey, Obama led McCain, 47% to 40%. In the four-way race last month, Obama held a 10-point lead over McCain.

The Reuters/Zogby Horserace

August July

——————————

McCain 46% 40%

Obama 41% 47%

Not sure/Other 13% 13%

Here’s hoping that the rookie from Chicago gets his proper place in this election, at the BACK of the bus, where he belongs.

Democrats and a Police State

Keith Olbermann, a political commentator that I highly respect, made a very startling comment last night on his show. Keith, his idiotic political positions aside, will sometimes make a statement that brings one to a sobering reality. While flinging a well deserved criticism against the Bush Administration for its many idiotic policies made a very profound choice of words. Those words were, “Police State.”

Either Keith is just willfully stupid or simply badly misinformed. It is a known fact that Democrats are for a police state. The whole idea of social justice, Government sponsored or controlled healthcare, Government controlled or owned oil companies, is, in fact, a de facto tenet of big government, more specifically it is the direct tenet of Communism. The Democratic Party and its many socialist minions want to control and contain Christianity. They would destroy it, but the Conservative grass roots movement would not allow it.

Let me be clear, I do not believe in the idea of a theocratic Government. A theocratic Government excludes segments of society, and I am not excluding anyone at all. What I am for is a secular Government that allows for Individual and personal freedom, Freedom to practice, of choice of, and from Religion, Freedom of Speech, without conditions. Democrats and Republicans BOTH believe in freedom of speech, as long as it conforms to their political, religious, and personal ideologies. That is not true freedom of speech. That is freedom of speech with conditions, which is NOT what our constitution gives us.

I will give Olbermann a little credit here he does recognize this current President Administration as an out of control Neo-Conservative imperialistic Presidency. Keith likes to call them Fascists; I personally do not think that is the correct terminology to use. This terminology one could use in the fact that Bush did attempt to suppress dissent of his execution of the Iraq War. However, I digress.

My biggest issues with Keith Olbermann are as follows:

First is his inability to realize that the U.S. Military working at the pentagon are in fact just as much military personnel, as the ones working in the battlefield in Iraq. What Keith fails to realize is that most of the people in the pentagon are just doing that which those higher in power tell them. So, it does tend to annoy me a bit when Keith Olbermann tells the officers in the United States Military to “Go to hell”, as he has said in the past. It simply strikes me as hypocritical to say you support the troops in one breath and tell them to go to hell in another.

Second is his grand delusion that somehow the Democratic Party is going to be some sort of wonderful alternative to the Republicans. Speaking strictly on the terms of a police state, the socialist movement is the premier advocate of governmental control. This is, considered by many, to be a police state and could in fact turn into a police state at a drop of a hat.

Thirdly Keith throwing under the bus a Washington Post columnist who, frankly, decided to think for himself and not follow the chorus line of praises, from the so-called objective media. This shows a bad case of bias, and frankly makes Keith look quite unprofessional.

Then again, this is someone who supports a “Police State,” So, what can one expect from him?

Chuck Baldwin just made my voting decision easier…..

I’ve already thrown one Conservative Commentator under the bus for this. Now, it looks like I am going to have to throw another under the damned bus as well.

Chuck Baldwin has decided that his Presidential ambitions are worth the proverbial “pissing into the wind.” He has decided to stand with the habitual lying stack of human excrement that is Jerry Corsi.

There was a time and point when I thought that Chuck Baldwin was a sensible alternative to John McCain’s Neo-Conservative Bush 2.0 type of a Presidency. It has become increasingly apparent that this is no longer the case.

Chuck Baldwin is, in fact, a Born Again Christian and a Baptist Minister. But yet, he will stand behind a man, who published a book that was so chalk full of damned errors, that it garnered a 44 page rebuttal from the Obama campaign. I am afraid my friends and dear readers that this is nothing more than rank hypocrisy.

I will be, unless something drastically changes before the November election, voting for Libertarian Candidate for President Bob Barr.

Blogs are considered by many to be a extension of one’s personality and in my case, political ideologies. This blog stands against the far left’s Anti-American Socialist, Commie, Liberal Agenda. But it also stands for something else, Journalistic Integrity. Sadly this trait is missing and obviously scarce in the far right wing media outlets.

Because of these actions, I will not ever again, mention the name of Chuck Baldwin on this Blog. He is out of the running as far as I am concerned. I believe in attacking Obama on his political ideologies, not based upon baseless smears and outright lies.

This is the first and last thing, that I will ever write about, discuss or even mention about this subject.

Rachel Maddow to get show on MSNBC

Via Keith Olbermann’s Daily Kos page

Happy Now?

The network will be formally announcing this tomorrow, but I am pleased to inform you in this fully authorized leak, that as of Monday, September 8, our mutual friend Ms. Maddow will become host of her own show, on MSNBC, at 9 PM Eastern Time.

And, yes, we will be making another unofficial announcement of this on tonight’s edition of Countdown. My guest to analyze the Rachel Maddow news will be Rachel Maddow.

Eh… It beats Dan Abrams. He sucked. He tried, but he sucked.

Now I await the far right’s idiotic criticism.

For the record, I think Rachel Maddow is pretty freakin’ Hot, even if she is a dyke. 😉 😛 😀

Obama V.P. Speculation

Normally, I wouldn’t care. But seeing it’s the big thing right now. I’ll jump on the bandwagon here.

MSNBC Says it’s Biden:

Within the last few hours I’ve spoken with two
of the finalists for the role of Barack Obama’s running-mate, and to
two other sources who are close to the process.

My bottom line
is this: Barring a big surprise or last-minute change of heart, the
choice is likely to be Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware, chairman of the
Foreign Relations Committee.

He is a
lively and feisty if unpredictable campaigner with working-class roots
and a street-level feel for the hot spots of the globe — which he can
use to go toe-to-toe with Sen. John McCain.

“If I had to bet my life on it, I’d bet it is Joe,” said one of the other contenders.

Said another, “Barack is moving toward a seasoned Beltway type, and that probably means Biden.”

And a source personally close to Obama simply said “Biden makes the most sense.”

Biden would make sense, he’s got the foreign policy and he would make one hell of a good attack dog.

This Blogger says that it’s Kathleen Sebelius:

We have a credible lead that Barack Obama will be announcing Kathleen Sebelius for Vice President / VP.

Our sources work within an ad agency that is hired by the Obama
campaign, and have noted that the vast majority of the discussions
there are regarding material logistics in terms of Kathleen on the vice
president ticket. Now until this is verified please file it as rumor,
however our sources on this are not bad.. and have yet to be proven
wrong.

Our source noted “It will get a women on the ticket that shares the
same views as Obama” a reference to many of the Hillary supporters..

Then of course we had to do some research.

We held some general opinions prior to this little research project.
One of them being that they wouldn’t have multiple domain providers, it
becomes a hassle.. so the chances are they used the same registrar.

He goes to show that the Obama campaign bought the domain OBAMASEBELIUS.COM. Kathleen Sebelius would make sense as well, as she would possibly bring Hillary voters to the ticket. Except for the idiotic PUMA group. Which has all of about 250 people.

Other people being discussed are Bill Richardson, who would bring some serious foreign policy credentials to the Obama campaign. (Despite what some idiotic Republicans say about that…)

Either way, I believe no one is going to have the actual “inside track” on whom Obama will pick, obviously it will be someone that will help and not hurt his campaign.

The Politics of Distraction

In the interest of full disclosure, I am not an expert when it comes to political debates. I do not have some magical ability to be able to determine how someone did or whether they “won” the debate or not. However, I do know when I see blatant stupidity. This is one of those times.

How does one compensate for when a presidential candidate loses a debate and performs poorly? The said person’s campaign screams, “They cheated!” as long and loud as possible to distract from that fact that said person did quite poorly in the debate.

Such is the case, in the recent “civil” Non-Debate between John McCain and Barack Obama. This was not even a debate at all, but rather a “supposed” interview between a so-called Pastor Rick Warren and the presidential candidates for President of the United States. In the interest of full disclosure, I have little or no use for “Pastor” Rick Warren’s type of “Christianity for Dummies” style of Ministry. I made it through half of a chapter of his book, “The Purpose Driven Life,” and quickly realized that it was nothing more than Robert Schuller humanistic theology made palatable for Non-Reformist Christians.

However, the issue here at hand is. Did McCain cheat? McCain was in a motorcade coming to the event, which hardly qualifies as cheating. It seems to me that someone who was better prepared beat Obama, badly. That person was John McCain. I will let it be known, that I do not support John McCain for President of the United States. However, for Obama to infer that McCain cheated shows that Obama is not someone who is even remotely ready for the office of President of The United States. He lacks the talent, He lacks the experience, and he lacks the ability to debate his positions.

Roman Catholic Thug Bill Donohue wants to control free speech.

This is stupid beyond words.

Via Catholic League:

“The list of credentialed blogs include radical sites like The Daily Kos. Worse are blogs that feature anti-Catholic and obscene material. The two most offensive are Bitch Ph.D. and Towleroad.

“On the home page of Bitch Ph.D. there is a picture of two children: one of them is shown flashing his middle finger. Today’s lead post, which was written August 17, is called ‘Jesus Christ.’ It begins with, ‘I’m a really crappy Catholic who hasn’t been to mass in ages because most parishes around here ‘will’ insist on being aggressively anti-abortion….’ The writer then objects to some children’s toys on the grounds that they are more offensive than desecrating the Eucharist. The toys are actually balloons that have been made to depict Jesus in various poses, including a crucified Christ; one of these images shows Jesus with a penis. Several who commented on this image made patently obscene comments.

Towleroad describes itself as ‘A Site with Homosexual Tendencies.’ Accordingly, it shows men in jock straps and underwear. It also has a post on Pope Benedict XVI that takes him to task for wearing a cape with ermine. Some of those who commented on this described the pope in a vile and profane way.

“Both of these blogs should be cut immediately from the list of credentialed sites. Neither functions as a responsible media outlet and both offend Catholics, as well as others. To allow them access to the Democratic National Convention sends a message to Catholics they will not forget. We look for Leah Daughtry, CEO of the Convention, to nix them ASAP.”

I tend to believe that Mr. Donohue might want to rethink his position on this, because insulting the Catholic Church is one thing, but suppression of free speech is another, especially in the Blogging world. This could backfire in the face of Bill and his band of idiots.

Once again the magic one has been caught in a lie….

Check it:

One little problem with this little lie.

There’s full documentation on it, There’s a voting record on it, and there’s an AP article on it.

Transcript of the Lying Magic one:

Brody: I want to ask, I was back stage I didn’t see
the handshake, but I’m curious what that was like to be on stage with
John McCain and what was going through your mind when all of that was
going on.

Obama: Well, you know John and I serve in the
Senate together, so we see each other all the time. It was great to see
him. As he said, he’ll see me in a couple weeks. We’re going to be
debating each other throughout the fall.

Brody: Tell me a little bit about how you felt up
there on stage in terms of what may have been that, the hardest
question or at least the question that you may not have been looking
forward to address so much.

Obama: You know, I thought, Pastor Rick is a good
friend, he and I have known each other for some time, I’ve been to this
church before, and so I knew that he’d be fair and press me on issues
that are of particular concern to the Evangelical community, but I also
knew they weren’t issues that I hadn’t heard before and hadn’t wrestled
with myself. So, you know, one of the wonderful things about Rick is he
is somebody who, I think, has genuine good will towards everybody and
even when he disagrees with you, I think he’s going to give you a fair
hearing.

Brody: Let me ask you a little about some of these
ads that John McCain has been running not just on television, but on
the web. Let’s face it, let’s call a spade a spade, there has been some
Messianic references, there’s been some antichrist stuff going on, the
celebrity, they’re trying to pigeonhole you a certain way. Do you
believe this is being done on purpose?

Obama: Well of course it’s being done on purpose.
They’re not spending a whole bunch of money to make me out as a good
guy. They’re engaging in the kind of politics that I think we’ve become
accustomed to which is you try to tear your opponents down and you
engage in sort of slash and burn tactics. And very personal sort of
personal character attacks. And one of the challenges for us in this
campaign is how do you make sure those attacks are answered quickly and
forcefully, but also truthfully and that we don’t fall into that same
kind of tactic. And look, I think ultimately the American people are
going to understand by the time they go into the polling place in
November that this is not an election about me. This an election about
them – ordinary people, their lives, their hopes their dreams, the fact
that their incomes have gone down over the last eight years, the fact
that their jobs are less secure, that they have less retirement
security, that their kids can’t afford college, that jobs are being
shipped overseas that the tax code isn’t fair and that special
interests have come to dominate Washington. And as long as we’re
communicating an active plan to fix those problems then I think we’re
going to do well.

Brody: Real quick, the born alive infant protection
act. I gotta tell you that’s the one thing I get a lot of emails about
and it’s just not just from Evangelicals, it about Catholics,
Protestants, main — they’re trying to understand it because there was
some literature put out by the National Right to Life Committee. And
they’re basically saying they felt like you misrepresented your
position on that bill.

Obama: Let me clarify this right now.

Brody: Because it’s getting a lot of play.

Obama: Well and because they have not been telling
the truth. And I hate to say that people are lying, but here’s a
situation where folks are lying. I have said repeatedly that I would
have been completely in, fully in support of the federal bill that
everybody supported – which was to say –that you should provide
assistance to any infant that was born – even if it was as a
consequence of an induced abortion. That was not the bill that was
presented at the state level. What that bill also was doing was trying
to undermine Roe vs. Wade. By the way, we also had a bill, a law
already in place in Illinois that insured life saving treatment was
given to infants.

So for people to suggest that I and the Illinois medical society, so
Illinois doctors were somehow in favor of withholding life saving
support from an infant born alive is ridiculous. It defies commonsense
and it defies imagination and for people to keep on pushing this is
offensive and it’s an example of the kind of politics that we have to
get beyond. It’s one thing for people to disagree with me about the
issue of choice, it’s another thing for people to out and out
misrepresent my positions repeatedly, even after they know that they’re
wrong. And that’s what’s been happening.

Brody: I wanted to give you a chance to clear it up.

Obama: I appreciate it.

Brody: Thank you so much.

Sorry Barry, but thanks for playing… Might wanna brush up on your voting history a bit.

Update: Heh. Ed Morrissey lays the smack down on Obama. It’s a very good read.

Uhm….. Chimps?

I hate like heck to criticize the guys over at Hotair.com.

One main reason is because Michelle and Co. have been nice enough to send me trackback traffic.

But gosh darn it! When something ain’t right, something just ain’t right and I cannot just sit by idly and not say anything about it! Grrr… 😡

This is what has my fruit of the loom’s in a dither. AllahPundit links to a Article found here. The Video in question is found here.

I understand the article and where Mrs. Underestimated is coming from. What totally has me all buggered out was this right here:

Good work by NBC, though, in dousing a poignant moment in hokey musical cheese, just in case there were any chimps watching who can’t grasp the sentiment without an orchestral cue.

Chimps?!?!?!?!?!? Chimps?!?! 😮 😯

Do you think you could have used a different word in the context of patriotism and a black guy? Like um, Idiots or stupid people, or ignorant ones, or anything else, other than…. chimps?

I mean, the reason I am pointing this out, is to pose a question to AllahPundit and everyone else over at HotAir and all the rest of the Conservative Bloggers. Why give the Liberals anymore Ammo than is already needed? I mean as it is, Howard Dean is already saying that the Republican Party is the Party of the white people. Yes, I know it is untrue and hypocritical as hell.

I mean, it is one thing to criticize blacks for their politics and such, their race baiting, their desire to make white people cower in fear, but to make underhanded racist bigoted statements like that, is just uncalled on a blog of HotAir’s caliber.

Not only this, But, it is one thing for me over here to make snarky comments, hell, I’m lucky to clear 100 visitors a day here, but HotAir is one of the top Conservative Blogs out there. Not a good way to promote one’s name and not only this, it just gives idiot Liberals like Keith Olbermann more ammo for his head exploding show.

…….Chimps? Yeeesh…… 🙄

AP, you can do better man, I’ve been reading you for a long time. This was most definitely NOT one of your finer moments.

There is many people, including this blogger, who wish that we could finally bury the sins of our forefathers and get past our Nation’s past. A good way to start would to avoid using phrases like this.

Just saying, that’s all.

Update: Hmph, I see AllahPundit removed my trackback. I guess they only send traffic to those who are supportive of what is said over there. Cowardly jackasses. I’d expect that from a fag from Queens, New York. Heh… and don’t even ask how I know this.

Editorial: Russia and Democratic Neglect

One of the biggest issues with this Russian/Georgian conflict is the fact that there is a lack of verifiable information. One minute you hear that the conflict has ended and the fighting has stopped the very next, you hear that the fighting is still happening, and that the Russians are not honoring the cease-fire agreement. It is all rather confusing, and it makes for a very frustrated blogger. Because the last thing a blogger wants to be, is wrong.

However, more than that is the lack of the Main Stream Media’s ability to look at this entire conflict in a historical context. Many are pointing to the actions of Ronald Reagan for dissolving the Soviet Union Empire, as being the cause of this conflict. I happen to disagree with that notion. I believe personally that it was the foolish actions of President Harry Truman, that is the cause of this conflict or shall I say the harvest of seeds planted by Harry Truman’s actions.

On December 7, 1941, the empire of Japan attacked the United States naval base in Oahu, Hawaii. This act of brazen hostility brought the United States of America into World War II, despite President Franklin Roosevelt’s pledge to remain neutral in the ever-growing conflict. As history would show, The United States fought the war and finally Hitler was defeated, and Japan surrendered. However, the method used to end the war, is in my opinion the underlying cause of this conflict.

It is a known fact that the United States soundly defeated Hitler by fighting them on the ground and air, using conventional weapons. However, we stopped the war, and to end the conflict with Japan, we used atomic weapons. This I feel was a tragic mistake. This is because Truman was a different kind of a Democrat than Roosevelt. Roosevelt was an “old line” Democrat, who saw the Communist threat, knew what the Communist doctrine was truly about, the repression of freedom and he stood to defeat it. No matter how long it took.

However, Truman was another matter entirely. President Truman represented the “new line” of Democrats who felt that war was unneeded and that peace was a better path. This was a precursor to the “peacenik” Democrats of the sixties. This was evident when President Truman gave his infamous “Military Industrial Complex” speech, at the end of his term. * — See Below With Hitler out of the way, Truman, feeling the ever-increasing pressure to end the war and return the country to pre-war status, devised a plan to end the conflict with Japan.

While using the Atomic bomb might have been an effective means of ending a war, its impact and stain upon the United States would be long ranging, to this very day, is to be considered a very poor decision by the United States. On many websites in Japan, including those in English, denounce America as being brutal for dropping the bomb. However, those who had friends and relatives that died at Pearl Harbor felt that Japan got what it deserved.

It is in the opinion of this writer, that the United States should have fought the war, all the way to Russia, until communism was soundly defeated. Furthermore, The United States of America, should have never dropped the atomic bomb on the empire of Japan, but rather, should have fought that war on the ground, until Japan surrendered. This would have resulted in the total defeat of communism. However, as we all know, this never happened.

Because of this obtuse neglect, the United States of America began a “Cold War” with the empire of the Soviet Union that lasted until a Conservative President, a real conservative President, whom came on the scene in the eighties to plant the seeds that would eventually bring down the soviet empire. However, as we have seen here in the last few days, Russia is not a free and democratic society; it is simply a police state, without the outright communism.

Putin, a man who is sympathetic toward the old soviet empire, filled to the brim with communist doctrine, is wagging his finger in the face of the United States and making a mockery of the supposed democracy in the European continent. This is the harvest of the neglect of the Democratic Party of the forties.*

* Update: Oops! I blew it, Truman did NOT give the military-industrial complex speech, Dwight Eisenhower did. My bad. I blew it, I should have checked. 🙄 But my point about the Democrats and the cold war as it relates to Russia still stands.

Breaking News: Cindy McCain taken to Detroit area hospital…

Ouch, this had to hurt…

Cindy McCain Taken To Hospital (via WXYZ.com)

Republican John McCain’s wife has been treated for a “minor sprain” after someone at a campaign event in Michigan shook her hand firmly.

A campaign spokeswoman says Cindy McCain left the West Bloomfield, Mich., campaign event Wednesday for X-rays at a local hospital after an enthusiastic supporter squeezed too much.

McCain’s wife has had previous surgeries for carpal Tunnel Syndrome and the handshake exacerbated the condition.

Spokeswoman Jill Hazelbaker says Mrs. McCain will campaign as planned on Thursday.

Egad, More Republican Stupidity.

You know, I’ve heard some rather STUPID remarks come out the of the mouths of Republicans since I have been blogging. But this right here, takes the cake.

GOP floor revolt over inaction continues (via OneNewsNow.com)

House Republicans say they will continue their floor revolt over gas prices during the congressional recess until Nancy Pelosi allows an up-or-down vote on offshore oil drilling. Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-Minnesota) says she plans to return to Washington to join in the protest.

“[Pelosi] is committed to her global warming fanaticism to the point where she has said that she’s just trying to save the planet. We all know that someone did that over 2,000 years ago, they saved the planet — we didn’t need Nancy Pelosi to do that,” says Bachmann.

Okay, this is where I get on my Christian doctrine soapbox, so, if you’re offended by such talk. Stop here, please. Because I am about unleash some doctrine talk.

First of all, Jesus Christ, who is the only begotten Son of the Living God, did not DIE for this God-Forsaken, Sin-Depraved Planet. In fact, if you read the book of Revelation, this planet is going to burn, after the rapture of the Church. Jesus Christ died for the sin of mankind. Some would even say that he died for his sheep alone and NOT for the entire human race. It all depends on one’s doctrinal stance, and one’s interpretation of the book of Romans. If you’re a Calvinist, you believe in the Salvation of the “elect”, as it is called in the King James Bible, if you’re a “free will” person, you believe in the Salvation of mankind.

So, I am not sure what part of this woman’s anal cavity this woman got this little comment, but she needs to keep digging. Because she pulled out a real stinker.

Russia halts bombing, finger pointing starts

It is truly worse than having to babysit children. But now that the Bombing in Georgia has stopped, The childish finger pointing has started.

The NYT reports:

President Dmitri A. Medvedev of Russia announced Tuesday that he agreed to a European peace proposal and had ordered a halt to his country’s military operation in Georgia, although he did not say that troops were pulling out and he insisted that Russian forces were still authorized to fire on enemies in South Ossetia.

The president said Russia had achieved its military goals in five days of fighting, during which Russian troops advanced into Georgian territory despite strong denunciations from President Bush and other Western leaders.

But fighting appeared to continue in Georgia on Tuesday — with reports of sporadic bombing and some Russian troops digging in around Georgian cities — and it was uncertain whether Mr. Medvedev’s statement would lead to an end to hostilities.

Despite the uncertainties, President Nicolas Sarkozy of France, who was in Moscow to try to mediate the crisis, hailed Mr. Medvedev’s decision. Other senior Western officials said they thought a cease-fire proper was imminent. Later, Mr. Sarkozy and Mr. Medvedev held a news conference on the peace proposal, which calls for Russian forces to withdraw from Georgia. It was unclear whether it called for a full withdrawal from South Ossetia and Abkhazia, nor what kind of timetable might be involved.

While this is a good thing to hear, if the reports that the bombing has ceased are true. But now however, the blame game is starting. Mikhail Gorbachev blames Georgia, and by proxy, the United States, for this beginning of the hostilities. He writes in a Washington Post Op-Ed:

The past week’s events in South Ossetia are bound to shock and pain anyone. Already, thousands of people have died, tens of thousands have been turned into refugees, and towns and villages lie in ruins. Nothing can justify this loss of life and destruction. It is a warning to all.

The roots of this tragedy lie in the decision of Georgia’s separatist leaders in 1991 to abolish South Ossetian autonomy. This turned out to be a time bomb for Georgia’s territorial integrity. Each time successive Georgian leaders tried to impose their will by force — both in South Ossetia and in Abkhazia, where the issues of autonomy are similar — it only made the situation worse. New wounds aggravated old injuries.

Nevertheless, it was still possible to find a political solution. For some time, relative calm was maintained in South Ossetia. The peacekeeping force composed of Russians, Georgians and Ossetians fulfilled its mission, and ordinary Ossetians and Georgians, who live close to each other, found at least some common ground.

Through all these years, Russia has continued to recognize Georgia’s territorial integrity. Clearly, the only way to solve the South Ossetian problem on that basis is through peaceful means. Indeed, in a civilized world, there is no other way.

[….]

Mounting a military assault against innocents was a reckless decision whose tragic consequences, for thousands of people of different nationalities, are now clear. The Georgian leadership could do this only with the perceived support and encouragement of a much more powerful force. Georgian armed forces were trained by hundreds of U.S. instructors, and its sophisticated military equipment was bought in a number of countries. This, coupled with the promise of NATO membership, emboldened Georgian leaders into thinking that they could get away with a “blitzkrieg” in South Ossetia.

In other words, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili was expecting unconditional support from the West, and the West had given him reason to think he would have it. Now that the Georgian military assault has been routed, both the Georgian government and its supporters should rethink their position.

[….]

Over the past few days, some Western nations have taken positions, particularly in the U.N. Security Council, that have been far from balanced. As a result, the Security Council was not able to act effectively from the very start of this conflict. By declaring the Caucasus, a region that is thousands of miles from the American continent, a sphere of its “national interest,” the United States made a serious blunder. Of course, peace in the Caucasus is in everyone’s interest. But it is simply common sense to recognize that Russia is rooted there by common geography and centuries of history. Russia is not seeking territorial expansion, but it has legitimate interests in this region.

The international community’s long-term aim could be to create a sub-regional system of security and cooperation that would make any provocation, and the very possibility of crises such as this one, impossible. Building this type of system would be challenging and could only be accomplished with the cooperation of the region’s countries themselves. Nations outside the region could perhaps help, too — but only if they take a fair and objective stance. A lesson from recent events is that geopolitical games are dangerous anywhere, not just in the Caucasus.

As much as I hate to admit it. He does have a point. It did seem the the western media here in America did come out against Russia. Bush and Co. did prop up Georgia as an ally, only to stand by idly as Russia moved in tanks and began bombing that country. This was possibly a costly mistake. It does do further damage to President Bush, it makes him look weak in the eyes of the Georgians and to the rest in that region.

Whether the rest of the conservative world wants to admit it or not. The next President of the United States is going to have a BUNCH of mopping up to do, no matter whom elected, they are going to have their work cut out for them. I just hope that whomever is elected, has the courage and the intestinal fortitude to deal with the mess that will be left in the White House after this current administration has left. I pity that person greatly, I would not want to be in that persons shoes, at all.

Linkfest Haven, the Blogger's Oasis

You know you’re damn good Blogger

When Vanity fair writes snarky articles about you.

Seriously, I hope Jeff is not serious about going away. I mean, we conservative Bloggers, in our various forms are quite the thin breed.

For the bloody damned record, I like Jeff’s Blog. I’ve always enjoyed Protein Wisdom’s roughshod style of Conservative writing. (Except maybe when it was directed at me… 🙄 ) While I don’t peek over there daily, I do like to read his and his co-Bloggers take of stories in the headlines. It makes for a complete conversation. A Political conversation without completness is just fucking boring.

Yeah, I admit it, I’ve gotten my share of shit from Jeff and his group of writers over there, especially back in the “The Populist” days. Fuck, some of it, I had coming, some of it bordered on criminal, but I did survive. I also learned some lessons about Liberals, the cowardly bastards that they are. Socialists for all their bravado, when the rubber meets the road and one of their “supposed” own is in trouble, are very much the cowardly bunch. Fucking bastards. I also learned that Blog wars are quite silly, especially ones of your making.

I also learned some hard lessons in Blogging, never make stupid assed comments, unless you know ALL the facts, sometimes trying to channel Ann Coulter is not always the cool thing to do. Because done the wrong way, can make you look like a complete asshat.

I do truly hope that Jeff is able to resolve his internal conflicts and is able to continue. I mean, after all the shit that he has been through in the past. It would just seem to me to be a bit wasteful to just throw in the towel, because of some douche-bag guest blogger decided to act like some sort of a tool.

So, Jeff, if you happen to read this, ya fucking tool, turn your god damned sitemeter back on, and get your sorry ass back to blogging, because I’ll be fucking damned, if I’m going to be the only mother fucker outside of Malkin defending the damn shop. That’s an order!

I mean, seriously, What the fuck? Is blogging dying or something? First it’s Ed Morrissey going to HotAir, Middle Earth Journal stops Blogging, and now this? Is this a trend? fucking aye already!

Quote of the Day

“Even though black society would pull for him I still think that they think in the back of their mind that the only reason he is in is because he talks, acts, and carries himself as a Caucasian.”

My thoughts on the Edwards Affair

Yes, I know about the Edwards affair story. I have been sitting here and thinking about it. A few thoughts:

  • Cheating on your wife, while she is terminal with cancer, makes you a scum ball in my book.
  • I do not buy the lie that he did not father the child. Why did he just not admit it?
  • Why did the media just sit on this, while the tabloids worked the story?
  • Somewhere, Ann Coulter is beside herself with glee and writing a very snarky column.
  • I feel terribly awful for Edward’s Adult Children, Kids, and of course, his poor wife.
  • Let us not forget, John McCain’s past, when it comes to Women, is not exactly honorable.
  • Let us also remember that Barack Obama is very happily married with two kids.

John Edwards has released an official statement: (Via Marc Ambinder @ The Atlantic)

In 2006, I made a serious error in judgment and conducted myself in a way that was disloyal to my family and to my core beliefs. I recognized my mistake and I told my wife that I had a liaison with another woman, and I asked for her forgiveness. Although I was honest in every painful detail with my family, I did not tell the public. When a supermarket tabloid told a version of the story, I used the fact that the story contained many falsities to deny it. But being 99% honest is no longer enough.

I was and am ashamed of my conduct and choices, and I had hoped that it would never become public. With my family, I took responsibility for my actions in 2006 and today I take full responsibility publicly. But that misconduct took place for a short period in 2006. It ended then. I am and have been willing to take any test necessary to establish the fact that I am not the father of any baby, and I am truly hopeful that a test will be done so this fact can be definitively established. I only know that the apparent father has said publicly that he is the father of the baby. I also have not been engaged in any activity of any description that requested, agreed to or supported payments of any kind to the woman or to the apparent father of the baby.

It is inadequate to say to the people who believed in me that I am sorry, as it is inadequate to say to the people who love me that I am sorry. In the course of several campaigns, I started to believe that I was special and became increasingly egocentric and narcissistic. If you want to beat me up – feel free. You cannot beat me up more than I have already beaten up myself. I have been stripped bare and will now work with everything I have to help my family and others who need my help.

I have given a complete interview on this matter and having done so, will have nothing more to say.

See ya silky, just go away, go away now and don’t ever come back.

Update: Reader Simon e-mails:

Hey Paleo Pat,

I read your post about John Edwards finally admitting to his affair. I
don’t know if you remember this, but the LA Times banned its bloggers
from writing about the Edwards affair story because they didn’t think
the National Enquirer was a “reputable” source. I actually got a phone
interview with one of the LA Times’ top editors who said so:

I bet the National Enquirer is feeling vindicated right now.

Anyway, I thought you and your readers would find this humorous.

Take care,
Simon

Yes, I do find this to be quite funny actually. Thanks Simon.

Whoa…: Obama’s Nazi Symbol?!?!

This is kinda spooky, if you ask me.

The Story: One Nation, Under a New Obama Salute – Washington Whispers (usnews.com)

George Bush had his three-fingered W salute that supporters flashed when greeting him at presidential campaign events in 2000. And now, if a Los Angeles creative agency gets its way, Sen. Barack Obama will see fans meet him with his own salute like the one above. “Our goal is to see a crowd of 75,000 people at Obama’s nomination speech holding their hands above their heads, fingers laced together in support of a new direction for this country, a renewed hope, and acceptance of responsibility for our future,” says Rick Husong, owner of The Loyalty Inc. Husong tells me that he got the idea after seeing the famous Obama-Progress poster by artist Shepherd Fairey. “We wanted to get involved some way,” he says. So, the agency came up with their own a symbol of hope and progress that also plays off Obama’s name. “We thought, ‘Let’s try and start a movement where even while walking down the street, people would hold up the O and you would know that they were for Obama,’ ” says Husong. Much thought went into the relatively simple idea. “You interlace your hands in a circle, the interlacing being a symbol of different types of people coming together and the circle a symbol of unity,” he says. Their design, unlike Fairey’s, is free, and Husong is urging people to download it and print it on posters and T-shirts. “We want to see it everywhere, but more importantly we want this sign to take the world by storm.”

Wanna see what the Symbol looks like?

If I remember correctly, there were a few other signs of Socialism…. Let’s see here:

and….

Like they say… Birds of a Feather….

From the Dept. of “Well, Duh!”

One of the funniest Political Blog postings I’ve ever seen. Identity Politics at it’s finest.

TheRoot.com asks, “Can Blacks be trusted to cover Obama?”

When a weary and jet-lagged Barack Obama took the stage on the last day of the UNITY Journalists of Color convention in Chicago last month, most of the attendees had already left. But there was still a healthy crowd of over 2,500 there to hear the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

That is when, according to the mainstream media, black folks apparently acted like natural-born fools.

As you all know, I am quite well known for my controversial remarks. It is what I do. So, I will not disappoint.

Saying that blacks can be totally trusted to cover Obama would be like saying that White Nationalists could be trusted to cover David Duke.
