Great posting on the Neo-Cons by Glenn Greenwald

This is pretty darn good…..

Neocons and the truth: Bitter enemies to the end – Glenn Greenwald – Salon.com

In a July, 2006 article in Rolling Stone — entitled “Iran: The Next War” — the superb journalist James Bamford detailed the shady activities of numerous neoconservatives inside and out of the U.S. Government to plan an attack on Iran. Bamford focused on the role played by Michael Ledeen of the American Enterprise Institute and National Review, who created and began implementing an attack scheme in coordination with the Pentagon’s then number-three official, Doug Feith, and Feith’s deputy, Larry Franklin (subsequently convicted of felonies for passing classified information to AIPAC).

A couple weeks after Bamford’s exposè was published, National Review enlisted former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy and talk show host Mark Levin jointly to author a defense of Ledeen and, more importantly, to savage Bamford for writing what they claimed was a pack of lies. The McCarthy/Levin article was entitled “Rolling Smear,” sub-headlined “James Bamford writes a fiction about our Michael Ledeen,” and accused Bamford of being “the latest in a growing crowd of hacks to smear our friend Michael Ledeen.”

Yeah, I know, he’s a liberal… But you know what? As much as I highly disagree with Glenn’s Politics, I too, share a great dislike of the Neo-Conservative branch of the Republican Party. I thank Glenn for having the guts to stand up to these warmongering idiots and for exposing them for what they truly are.

Hats off to you, Glenn!

FBI Targets Internet Archive With Secret ‘National Security Letter’, Loses (via Threat Level from Wired.com)

The Internet Archive, a project to create a digital library of the web for posterity, successfully fought a secret government Patriot Act order for records about one of its patrons and won the right to make the order public, civil liberties groups announced Wednesday morning.

On November 26, 2007, the FBI served a controversial National Security Letter (.pdf) on the Internet Archive’s founder Brewster Kahle, asking for records about one of the library’s registered users, asking for the user’s name, address and activity on the site.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation, the Internet Archive’s lawyers, fought the NSL, challenging its constitutionality in a December 14 complaint (.pdf) to a federal court in San Francisco. The FBI agreed on April 21 to withdraw the letter and unseal the court case, making some of the documents available to the public.

I’ll tell ya, Ol’ Dubya and his cohorts are totally shredding our constitution. Go read the story, It’s pretty darn good.

The Republican loss in the special election for
Louisiana’s Sixth Congressional District last Saturday should be a
sharp wake up call for Republicans: Either Congressional Republicans
are going to chart a bold course of real change or they are going to
suffer decisive losses this November.

The facts are clear and compelling.

Saturday’s
loss was in a district that President Bush carried by 19 percentage
points in 2004 and that the Republicans have held since 1975.

This
defeat follows on the loss of Speaker Hastert’s seat in Illinois. That
seat had been held by a Republican for 76 years with the single
exception of the 1974 Watergate election when the Democrats held it for
one term. That same seat had been carried by President Bush 55-44% in
2004. –Read the Rest

Will they listen? Doubtful. The G.O.P. seems to have a mind of it’s own. The Nation is swinging Liberal, thanks to the Idiot Neo-Con’s who fooled the village idiot in the White House to pursue a Neo-Con agenda and to take the Nation into a unnecessary war, and now the World and most of America, hates conservatives and Republicans.

They will pay for that costly mistake for 4 or 8 years.

Bush’s Neo-Con Empire begins to crumble…

The WSJ Reports:

Federal Bureau of Investigation agents raided the Office of Special
Counsel here, seizing computers and documents belonging to the agency
chief Scott Bloch and staff.

More than a dozen FBI agents served grand jury subpoenas shortly
after 10 a.m., shutting down the agency’s computer network and
searching its offices, as well as Mr. Bloch’s home. Employees said the
searches appeared focused on alleged obstruction of justice by Mr.
Bloch during the course of an 2006 inquiry into his conduct in office.

The independent agency, created by Congress in the wake of the
Watergate scandal, is charged with protecting federal employees and
deciding whether their complaints merit full-scale investigation — a
first line of defense against fraud and mismanagement in government. It
also enforces a ban on U.S. employees engaging in partisan political
activity.

It was all just a matter of time. There’s a ton of Opinion on this one. I believe that this is just the beginning. Wait till a liberal takes the White House and the indictments start coming down. It will be an interesting thing to watch….and Blog about..

Jaun McSame has his own interesting friends….

Interesting….Indeed…

McCain finds his own radical friend — (via chicagotribune.com)

Can a presidential candidate justify a long and friendly relationship with someone who, back in the 1970s, extolled violence and committed crimes in the name of a radical ideology—and who has never shown remorse or admitted error? When the candidate in question is Barack Obama, John McCain says no. But when the candidate in question is John McCain, he’s not so sure.

Obama has been justly criticized for his ties to former Weather Underground member Bill Ayers, who in 1995 hosted a campaign event for Obama and in 2001 gave him a $200 contribution. The two have also served together on the board of a foundation. When their connection became known, McCain minced no words: “I think not only a repudiation but an apology for ever having anything to do with an unrepentant terrorist is due the American people.”

What McCain didn’t mention is that he has his own Bill Ayers—in the form of G. Gordon Liddy. Now a conservative radio talk-show host, Liddy spent more than 4 years in prison for his role in the 1972 Watergate burglary. That was just one element of what Liddy did, and proposed to do, in a secret White House effort to subvert the Constitution. Far from repudiating him, McCain has embraced him.

But wait there’s more….

Last November, McCain went on his radio show. Liddy greeted him as “an
old friend,” and McCain sounded like one. “I’m proud of you, I’m proud
of your family,” he gushed. “It’s always a pleasure for me to come on
your program, Gordon, and congratulations on your continued success and
adherence to the principles and philosophies that keep our nation
great.”

Which principles would those be? The ones that told
Liddy it was fine to break into the office of the Democratic National
Committee to plant bugs and photograph documents? The ones that made
him propose to kidnap anti-war activists so they couldn’t disrupt the
1972 Republican National Convention? The ones that inspired him to plan
the murder (never carried out) of an unfriendly newspaper columnist?

Liddy was in the thick of the biggest political scandal in American
history—and one of the greatest threats to the rule of law. He has said
he has no regrets about what he did, insisting that he went to jail as
“a prisoner of war.”

All this may sound like ancient history.
But it’s from the same era as the bombings Ayers helped carry out as a
member of the Weather Underground. And Liddy’s penchant for extreme
solutions has not abated.

In 1994, after the disastrous federal raid on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas,
he gave some advice to his listeners: “Now if the Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco and Firearms comes to disarm you and they are bearing arms,
resist them with arms. Go for a head shot; they’re going to be wearing
bulletproof vests. . . . Kill the sons of bitches.”

He later
backed off, saying he meant merely that people should defend themselves
if federal agents came with guns blazing. But his amended guidance was
not exactly conciliatory: Liddy also said he should have recommended
shots to the groin instead of the head. If that wasn’t enough to
inflame any nut cases, he mentioned labeling targets “Bill” and
“Hillary” when he practiced shooting.

Charming fellow, I’m sure. Wow, and here I thought some of friends, that I hung around with were a little strange.

The Republican spin and denial on this ought to be quite interesting…

Update: heh… just as a suspected, Surber Spins it…:

Question: What’s the latest pathetic attempt by a liberal to try to rationalize Obama’s ties to whack jobs?

Answer: Steve Chapman of the Chicago Tribune tried to equate G. Gordon Libby with Bill Ayers. Two problems: 1. Liddy did time in prison. 2. Libby did not blow anyone up. But other than the doing the time for the crime and not killing anyone, two peas in a pod. Oh for the days when Mike Royko zinged Chicago’s pols.

Yeah, but it still makes the guy a nut. Plus, no one was convicted of blowing anyone up. Nice try though.

John McCain has moved to a six percentage point, 48% to 42%, lead over Barack Obama in Gallup Poll Daily tracking of the general election, while he edges out Hillary Clinton by only one point, 46% to 45%.

This is according to Gallup Poll Daily tracking from April 27-May 1 with 4,381 national registered voters.

The ongoing turmoil in the Democratic race — with neither candidate able to sustain a winning streak in the primaries and animosity seemingly mounting between them — seems to be benefiting McCain and hurting both Democrats. Last week McCain had fallen three points behind Clinton in the preferences of registered voters for the general election, and only tied Obama.

Although both Clinton and Obama have lost ground to McCain over the past week, the current results may be particularly troubling for Obama in trying to combat Clinton’s assertion to superdelegates that she would be the more electable of the two candidates in November.

The current six-point margin for McCain over Obama is the largest lead McCain has had over either candidate since Gallup began tracking general election preferences in early March. The gap between Obama and Clinton’s percentage of the vote when both are pitted against McCain is also the largest since the general election tracking began.

If Obama Looses NC and IN. I predict that, He’ll be done, and Hillary will most likely get the nomination. If Obama Looses one and wins the other, there will be a super-delegate fight, come the convention.  If he wins both, I predict Hillary will drop out.

If these polls are right, If Obama wins the nomination, the Democrats will lose the election, come November, because as of now, people are losing faith in Obama, because of all the sideshows. You know them, I don’t have to name them, it is taking it’s toll on Obama.

Either way, it’s going to be one interesting show from now to November.

All the more reason to vote for this guy here

Why am I saying this? Because I am not letting my vote go to some idiot, who cannot even speak to a damn crowd, without misspeaking and giving the Liberals the red meat that they crave. Regardless if you want to admit it or not. President George W. Bush has so screwed this Nation up, that we’re going to be digging ourselves out for many years to come. He is also not really known for his ability to speak well, at all.

Of course, I am not about to let my vote go to a closet Marxist or a socialist bitch who wants to turn America into a another soviet union, with her nationalized healthcare program. So, I’m voting for a 3rd part candidate, that way, if the nation gets screwed up, it won’t be because of something I did.

Pastor Chuck Baldwin Announces his candidacy for President of United States of America….

Yes, my friends, THIS is who I am voting for, in November.

—————————-

Taken from NewsWithViews.Com:

IF I WERE PRESIDENT

By Pastor Chuck Baldwin

May 2, 2008

Due to my frequent criticisms of President George W. Bush, I am often asked what I would do if I were President of these United States. This column will serve as an attempt to answer that question.

If I were President, I would begin the process of safely extracting our troops from Iraq. In the first place, our troops are no longer fighting a war, they are an occupation force, which occupies a sovereign country. And this is being done without a Declaration of War. The Iraqi people resent our occupation as much as we would resent another nation stronger than ours invading and occupying America. If such a thing happened to our beloved country, I’m sure many of us would also become "insurgents."

In the second place, the invasion and occupation of Iraq was absolutely unnecessary. Instead of sacrificing more than 4,000 American lives and the lives of tens of thousands of Iraqi citizens (not to mention some 2-3 trillion dollars), President Bush should have supported Ron Paul’s bill, H.R. 3076, the September 11 Marque and Reprisal Act of 2001. This is the constitutional way to deal with rogue terrorist organizations. This is the way President Thomas Jefferson responded to the Barbary pirates.

According to Congressman Paul, "A letter of marque and reprisal is a constitutional tool specifically designed to give the President the authority to respond with appropriate force to those non-state actors who wage aggression against the United States while limiting his authority to only those responsible for the atrocities of that day. Such a limited authorization is consistent with the doctrine of just war and the practical aim of keeping Americans safe while minimizing the costs in blood and treasure of waging such an operation."

Had President Bush responded in this manner, tens of thousands of lives would have been saved, trillions of dollars would not have needed to be spent, Osama bin Laden and most of his fellow terrorists would likely be dead, and we would not be bogged down in a nightmarish military quagmire in Iraq. And, if I were President, this is exactly how I would handle terrorist organizations such as al Qaeda.

Furthermore, it is absolutely ludicrous to say we are fighting a war on terror half way around the world when we refuse to secure our borders and ports. If I were President, I would immediately seal our borders. I would also see to it that employers in America who knowingly hire illegal aliens are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. In plain language: any employer who consciously hires illegal aliens would go to jail. They would not pass Go; they would not collect $200; they would go straight to jail.

By sealing the borders and by cutting off the money supply to illegal aliens, the problem of illegal immigration would dry up. As it is, we have no idea how many potential terrorists–not to mention violent gang members such as MS-13–have snuck (and are sneaking) through our borders.

And speaking of illegal immigration, as President, I would enforce our visa rules. This means anyone who overstays their visa or otherwise violates U.S. law is immediately deported. There would be no "path to citizenship" given to any illegal alien. That means no amnesty. Not in any shape, manner, or form. I would not allow tax dollars to be used to pay for illegal aliens’ education, social services, or medical care. As President, I would end birthright citizenship for illegal aliens. There would be no "anchor babies" during my administration.

If I were President, I would use the bully pulpit of the White House to encourage Congress to pass Congressman Ron Paul’s Sanctity of Life Act. In short, this bill would do two things: First, it would declare that unborn babies are persons under the law. Second, under the authority of Article. III. Section. 2. of the U.S. Constitution, it would remove abortion from the jurisdiction of the Court. In essence, this bill would immediately overturn Roe v. Wade and end legalized abortion.

Republicans tout themselves as being "pro-life." Yet, the GOP controlled both houses of Congress and the White House for six years and did absolutely nothing to overturn Roe or end abortion-on-demand. Under my administration, we could end legal abortion in a matter of days, not decades. And if Congress refused to pass Dr. Paul’s bill, I would use the constitutional power of the Presidency to deny funds to protect abortion clinics. Either way, legalized abortion ends when I take office.

On the subject of foreign policy, as President, I would end foreign aid. I would also end the current infatuation with nation-building, empire-building, and interventionism. America is not the world’s policeman. Neither are our military personnel the personal militia of the United Nations.

Remember that President Bush told the U.N. in 2003 that the reason we invaded Iraq was for the purpose of securing the "peace and credibility of the United Nations." (I lie not; that is what he said.) President Bush also placed the U.S. back under UNESCO in spite of the fact that President Reagan had heroically taken the U.S. out from under that sinister organization.

I am sure that readers recall that the U.N. Charter was authored by a Soviet communist agent (Alger Hiss) and that the U.S. has been fighting wars for the U.N. ever since the organization was created back in 1945.

Speaking of the United Nations, as President, I would withhold funds from the support of the United Nations. In other words, I would get the U.S. out of the U.N. Beyond that, when I move into the White House, the U.N.’s rent is up! They move out of New York City post haste.

By the same token, there is absolutely no reason for us to be in NATO. We should not be antagonizing Russia by attempting to expand NATO. There is no reason why Russia could not become a friend and ally of the United States. Free and fair trade with Russia and a noninterventionist foreign policy in Europe would do much to endear American interests to Russia. To insist on expanding and empowering NATO only serves to further alienate Russia and drive her to make alliances with Communist China.

Speaking of China, it is time that we recognize the very serious threat that China poses to the peace and security of the United States. Our trade practices serve only to allow corporate America to continue to invest in what will surely become an albatross around the neck of our well-being. We must discontinue the practice of allowing China to export its cheap products to the U.S. with no protection for America’s jobs and manufacturing, not to mention the lack of protection for our safety. This must stop, and it will stop when I become President. "Free trade" will no longer mean a free ride for Red China.

Furthermore, as President, I would take the preservation of our nation’s sovereignty and independence extremely seriously. This means that the burgeoning North American Union is dead on arrival the day I am sworn in as President. Gone, too, is the NAFTA superhighway. And for that matter, I would lead the United States out of NAFTA and CAFTA altogether. And any prospect for the FTAA would be dead as well.

As President, I would be the best friend that gun owners (and lawful gun dealers), homeschoolers, and veterans ever had in the White House. These are three of the most persecuted, harassed, or overlooked groups of people in the country. But not if I were President.

There is no reason why our veterans should wait for weeks and months to receive the medical care they need. It is disgraceful that we
would ask our brave men and women of the U.S. armed forces to fight our country’s battles and then leave them to pretty much fend for themselves when it comes to receiving adequate health care. I would make taking care of our veterans an extremely high priority, if I were President.

If I were President, I would also do everything in my power to locate and retrieve any and all MIAs. I personally believe that there are hundreds of our servicemen who are yet being held against their will in various parts of the world. I would make finding them and bringing them home of utmost priority, if I were President.

On the home front, if I were President, I would end corporate welfare. I would also work to disband the Department of Energy (along with the Department of Education and many other federal departments). There is absolutely no reason for us to be dependent upon OPEC. There is enough gas and oil under the soil of Alaska (not to mention the Dakotas and the Gulf of Mexico) to meet the energy needs of the United States for the next 150-200 years. There is also no reason that gas should cost more than $1.50 a gallon (which is about what it was before Bush became President).

We must begin drilling for the domestic oil that we know exists; we must build more refineries and nuclear power plants. There is no reason why the United States cannot be mostly energy independent. It is time we started putting the people and interests of the United States ahead of the CEOs and interests of international corporations.

Lastly, if I were President, I would work feverishly to overturn the Sixteenth Amendment, which would repeal the Income Tax. And, no, I would not promote a national sales tax. That would be disastrous! Can you imagine what a 30% sales tax would do to the cost of EVERYTHING? Plus, give politicians a national sales tax to increase and just imagine what kind of percent that would grow into!

I would also work to repeal the "death tax," inheritance taxes, and property taxes. The American people are already paying somewhere between 30% and 40% of their income to Uncle Sam. It must stop. We are bankrupting our country with this incessant and burdensome tax system. In addition, I would work to expunge the Federal Reserve and to restore the American economy to sound money.

Now, I hear people say, That’s easy for you to say; you are not a candidate for President. Ah, but now I am.

Last week, in its national nominating convention in Kansas City, Missouri, the Constitution Party nominated me as its 2008 Presidential candidate. Party delegates nominated me over Ambassador Alan Keyes by a margin of 74% to 24%. Therefore, I am now a candidate for President of these United States.

I believe it is only fair, as I continue to write these columns, that one understands the full disclosure of my candidacy.

As readers know, I enthusiastically supported Ron Paul during the Republican Primary season. I plan to continue to trumpet his call for limited government, non-interventionism abroad, constitutional government, and freedom into the general election as a Third Party candidate.

I do not expect the national media to pay us much heed; they seldom do. I do not expect to receive large donations from corporate America. I do expect criticism and ridicule. That is nothing new. However, I also anticipate tens of thousands of freedom-loving people from all religious persuasions and walks of life to rally to our cause. Why? Because thousands of principled people will not be bullied into voting for the "evil of two lessers" being shoved down our throats by the two major parties. Because this campaign is not about Chuck Baldwin. It is not about a political party. It is about freedom. It is about constitutional government. It is about restoring America to the founding principles bequeathed to us by our Founding Fathers. If you believe in those principles, join us!

In the meantime, these columns will continue to serve as a voice for America’s founding principles, as they have for the past eight-plus years. In addition, unlike the candidates from the two major parties, the taxpayers are not underwriting my campaign, and I will continue my day job. (Imagine that: a Presidential candidate who actually works for a living!) And all of this is just in time for my 56th birthday, which is tomorrow, May 3.

There you have it: this is what I would do if I were President of these wonderful United States of America.

————–

If this man is on the ballot in Michigan come November, I will be voting for him. Why? because I would rather vote for this man, knowing that my vote went neither to a man, who wants to continue Bush’s Polices, nor to a man or who wants to turn this country in a socialist society.

I encourage anyone, who isn’t under the spell or influence of the Bush Administration’s kool-aid. To take a hard look at this man, and see, that He is, what President Reagan was all about. Classic Palo-Conservatism.

We need a man in Washington D.C. like this. Badly.

Jaun McSame gets asked "The Question"…

Yes, he got asked, "The Question!"

The problem is, as to whom, asked that question.

The far lefty, Commie, Liberal Blogs are breathlessly reporting that the guy was, in fact, a Baptist Minister.

There’s only one little problem with that story!

It is totally and unequivocally false.

The man was a former staff member for Joe Biden and is now a supporter of none of than, you guessed it, B. Hussein Obama.

There’s video of the incident, I’m not going to bother putting it here. This is just one of those fool hardy attempts by the left to distract the media’s attention away from the fact, that Barry’s got some quite interesting friends, Pastors, terrorist buddies and he is running for President of the United States of America.

I think it is high time that people woke and really seen the Democrat Party for what it has become. A group of criminal thugs and goons, who are more interested in having a communist, socialist society, than a free republic.

B. Hussein Obama is a perfect embodiment of such a society.

McCain Exploits MN Bridge collapse victims to make a cheap political point…

As if we needed any other kind of proof that John McCain is a asshole.

There’s this:

Quote:

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Republican John McCain said Wednesday that the bridge collapse in Minnesota that killed 13 people last year would not have happened if Congress had not wasted so much money on pork-barrel spending

Federal investigators cite undersize steel plates as the "critical factor" in the collapse of the bridge. Heavy loads of construction materials on the bridge also contributed to the disaster that injured 145 people on Aug. 1, according to preliminary findings by the National Transportation Safety Board.

"The bridge in Minneapolis didn’t collapse because there wasn’t enough money," McCain told reporters while campaigning in Pennsylvania. "The bridge in Minneapolis collapsed because so much money was spent on wasteful, unnecessary pork-barrel projects."

(Snip!)

On the same day, McCain was confronted with an earmark he did consider worthy. During a forum at Lehigh Valley Hospital, he met a woman with ovarian cancer who was treated in a clinical trial funded with $80 million in congressional earmarks.

The hospital was showing off an electronic medical records system that is virtually paper-free.

McCain insisted he was not trying to have it both ways and said that deserving projects can get money through regular channels.

"It’s the process I object to," he said. "I’m sure that I can give you a list of projects the Mafia funds, and they would probably be good projects. But I can’t give you a justification for the Mafia. I can’t give you a justification for the corruption that’s been bred which has sent members of Congress to the federal prison," he said.

"Look, if we reform the process, then the money will take care of itself. It’s a corrupt process," he said.

Yeah, sure you’re not Johnny. You’ve just proven to me and most of America, that you’re a feckless idiot. Good luck in November, jackass.

The only people who will just reject outright everything that he says, are racist bigots, who are haters. To that I say, they can, frankly, go to hell. They know who they are.

The reaction seems to be mixed, so far. Which is no surprise.

As someone who grew up in Southwest Detroit and grew up around Whites, Mexicans, and yes, Black people…. I can see where Wright is coming from.

Do I think his comments, that were made right after September 11, 2001, were okay???  No. I think that they were misguided, hateful and just plain wrong.

But the one’s made last night, were justified, and made a good deal of sense. At least to me, this is because I came from a multi-cultural background. Most people that will listen to this and take critical stance, are the pasty white people, who have never hung around anyone other than their own kind, and quite frankly, belong on the forums over at Stormfront.org.

That is all….

Update: I also listened to the second speech. I will make this absolutely clear. This man is a believer in "Black Liberation Theology", which is a derivative of "Liberation Theology". This doctrine is, in fact, a Marxist Theology. So, as far as I am concerned, Rev. Jeremiah Wright is nothing more, than a black communist. If Barack Obama agrees with ANY aspect of what this man says, Religious or Political, he is, in fact, a Marxist, and I will NOT be voting for him, should he secure the nomination of the Democrat Party. I do not want to be responsible for the election of a closet communist in our White House.
