The Monday Afternoon Mental Health Break, Special Labor Day Edition: Waylon Jennings

I would personally like to dedicate this to a friend and fellow brother-in-arms, who’s having a little bit of tough time right now — to his lovely wife, who keeps that Son-of-a-bitch on the straight and narrow. Not to mention from losing his ever lovin’ mind.

Mr. McCain, things will get better man, I assure you of that. This is not time to sulk, this is a time to give thanks —- that you and kids are alright.

Another two people I would like send a shout out to, is Tommy Christopher and his wife. Tommy had heart attack and his wife is being the emotional rock, as is Mrs. McCain.

You know, it’s tough to be married to old hound dogs like us; I have never made that step — most likely because I haven’t found any woman that would be willing to put up with my idiotic nonsense. But there are those crazy women who do. God Bless ’em. They are what keep those guys looking good, and acting somewhat acceptable to society. (which explains me much I would suppose….)

Tommy, Stacy, this one’s for you guys:

UPDATED: BREAKING NEWS: ROBERT STACY MCCAIN HITS DEER, KIA POSSIBLY TOTALLED

This is just breaking across Robert Stacy McCain twitter Feed:

I am trying to get info on his condition.

Anyhow, this means that Robert Stacy McCain might need the extra funds. So, head on over and hit his TipJar. I’m sure he has insurance. But, in times of need, we have to put others first. This is big. I will try to get info on his condition.

Update: Does anyone have any contact information for RSM? If you do, drop it at the contact form on the contact me page of this blog. I’d like to call the man. I cannot find any info for him anywhere. 🙁

Also, no blog posting…yet.

Update #2: Still no word on McCain and no Blog Posting as of 1:04am EST

Update #3: Finally, Here is the Blog posting:

Last night, just after 11, I decided to go to the store.

And hit a deer.

The car that my son worked so hard to fix?

The car I just spent $700 to fix?

Totalled.

The insurance probably won’t pay as much as we owed on it.

So . . . the trip I’d planned to Delaware today is canceled.

Probably no BlogCon, no 9/12.

Probably no more travel for weeks, even months.

Completed immobilized, just at the onset of the campaign season.

An irretrievable disaster.

I’m emotionally wiped out.

Update #4: I also received word from the Mrs. Other McCain via facebook, I sent her a message after frantically trying to reach Mr. McCain last night:

Thank you for your concern, its nice to know that Stacys friends are there.

I think he is fine. He is still asleep, I know he is heart broken. This too shall pass, what does not kill us will make us stronger!! lol

I am thankful that he and the boys are ok. God is good.

Louann,
aka..Mrs. The Other McCain.

I have admire that woman’s positive outlook. 😀

UPDATED: Sorry, but this is just stupid

You know, I have agreed with this guy in the past. But this is just plain dumb.

For the record, I’ve read those supposed Usenet postings too; and I saw nothing in them that was overly offensive.

I think someone just needs to grow up or give the heck out of blogging.

If I thought for one second, that this man was a racist/white nationalist/or whatever. I would never link to him. So, as I said; this is just plain stupid.

I mean, I am not a Palin fan, at all. But even I won’t stoop to that sort of stupidity.

Update: The Man, being Mr RSM, responds to this rather stupid attack; and does it rather well too.

BREAKING NEWS: 7.1 Earthquake Hits Christchurch, New Zealand

It also has affected the Blogosphere: (Via NoisyRoom)

Blog posting from the Blog, New Zeal:

Hi all – just a quick note to say that a 7.1 Earthquake hit Christchurch, New Zealand at 4:35 am this morning. Power and water is out through much of the city. My family and I are safe.

Solid aftershocks are still coming through. Thanks to everyone for their messages and prayers.

Here is a News Story on the quake via The News Herald in New Zealand:

Many Christchurch residents are counting themselves lucky to be alive after this morning’s massive 7.1-magnitude earthquake struck the city.

Marsha Witehira, 30, was sleeping when the wall next to her bed collapsed in and falling bricks narrowly missed landing on her head.

Her friend, Tama Wharepapa, was sleeping in the lounge when items started falling on him from a wall unit.

He rushed into Ms Witehira’s bedroom and pulled her by the feet out of the way of the collapsing wall.

“It just missed my head,” Ms Witehira said.

“He literally pulled me by my feet in my sleep, just at the time that the bricks fell on my bed and it just missed me. It was pretty intense,” she said.

“I’m very lucky to be alive. If Tama wasn’t here to wake me from my sleep and pull me out, I really wouldn’t like to think what the result would be.”

Thoughts and prayers to those in the affected area.

Robert Stacy McCain meets Todd Palin

Say what you want about Robert Stacy McCain, but when the man scores a exclusive, he scores an exclusive…..:

Todd Palin and Son Trigg

Half an hour later, I drive down an unpaved road past a large Miller-for-Senate campaign sign and turn into a driveway marked with multiple “No Trespassing” signs, past which no wise person would go uninvited. Here, nestled among birch trees on the shore of scenic Lake Lucille, is the home of the woman whom liberals love most to hate — and Todd, the man who got the nickname “First Dude” during his wife’s term as Alaska’s governor.

Todd opens the front door and his youngest son, two-year-old Trig, scampers across the living room to greet the guest with a “high five.” Rambunctiously energetic, Trig is the focus of his father’s attention — Todd bounces the toddler on his knee, reads him a book, and fixes him a bottle — for the next several minutes until 16-year-old Willow comes downstairs, scoops him up and carries him upstairs for sisterly babysitting.

Getting an interview with Sarah Palin is difficult. Getting an interview with Todd is next to impossible, and I would never have gotten this far if mutual friends — including Anchorage conservative talk-radio legend Eddie Burke — hadn’t vouched for my bona fides. So most of the conversation over the next two hours is off-the-record, or at least on background. To breach that agreement would be to put myself into that category of reporters whom Sarah Palin recently described to Sean Hannity as “impotent, limp and gutless.”

As of about right now, Mr. McCain is “The Man” of the Conservative Blogosphere. What an awesome thing to wake up to. 😀

Still, I am not much a of a Palin fan. But this is quite the awesome get, journalistically speaking.

Although, right now, I would venture to guess that there is a certain pony-tailed man in California who’s feeling about small at the moment.

BREAKING NEWS: MILLER WINS ALASKA SENATE RACE!

Pardon me folks, I need to let my hillbilly out for a second….:

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HAW!

MILLER WINS IN ALASKA!

….and you can read about it over at Robert Stacy McCain’s Blog— Right now! Click here!

Glenn Beck launches The Blaze

I have mixed feelings on this and I will explain that:

Via Mediaite:

Having conquered TV, radio, book publishing and now live events, Glenn Beck is looking to expand his media empire into a new arena – the web (obviously GlennBeck.com is thriving too).

Mediaite has the exclusive details about a news and opinion website Beck is launching tonight. Here’s what to expect.

Beck’s new site is called TheBlaze.com, and will be edited by Scott Baker, formerly of Breitbart TV and host of “The B-Cast”. In an exclusive statement, he tells Mediaite:

Our hope is that everyone who comes to The Blaze finds original reporting, insightful opinions and engaging videos about the stories that matter most. We are excited to launch and I look forward to keeping Scott and his team busy by sending countless ideas at 3am every morning.

We talked to Baker today about what readers can expect from the new site, the team behind it and more. “It’ll be news and information,” he told Mediaite. “Some commentary and opinion stories we’re interested in that are being under-covered or not covered.”

People will inevitably make the comparison to Arianna Huffington – whether Beck’s role as figurehead behind the site will make The Blaze into a conservative Huffington Post. “The one thing pretty clear around Mercury [Beck’s company] is that Glenn is not short on ideas or hesitant on input,” Baker said. “His input is already evident in how the site looks, and that’s what will continue. It will be a continual flow of tips and suggestions and encouragement.”

As I said above, I do have mixed feelings about this; let me explain. My hope is, that Glenn Beck’s team will do hard reporting and critical thinking pieces about the players in the Conservative movement. My fear and realist intuition tells me, however, that this site will most likely be; and I do hope that I am wrong — just another Conservative echo chamber for the right.  I think one of the biggest issues with the Conservative Blogosphere, is that there just is not any critical thinkers or intellectuals anymore. All you have are these people on the far-right, who stick to the normal talking points. There are exceptions to this rule, such as this site here. But the majority are just a part of the echo chamber.  Interestingly enough, the site that I just referenced, is considered by some, not to be Conservative enough for their liking. Which I find personally to be quite strange.

Speaking of that echo chamber, let me say this; some of you might have noticed that this site’s tone has changed a bit. I will explain that. When I first switched sides politically after basically “Waking and smelling the coffee” on the Democratic Party; I began blogging as a Conservative. At first I was a strict Paleo-Conservative. Because I just did not agree with President Bush at all. In fact, he was the reason why I started blogging in the first place. Did I suffer from BDS or Bush Derangement Syndrome? Not as bad as you would think. I simply could not stand the man’s arrogance. But was not as whacked out about it as some were and still are on the left and some in Paleo-Right circles.

Anyhow, as I went along, I began to see; like I did with the Democrats, that there were just things in the Paleo-Conservative arena that took me aback a bit. I mean, it is one thing to not like the identity politics of the left. But it is an entirely different thing to look at black people as intellectually inferior to white people. It is one thing to dislike the Identity Politics, when it comes to the Jewish Race, on the right and disagree with Wilsonian Foreign Policy. However, it is another thing entirely to believe that there is some sort of Jewish cabal to overthrow the United States Government and refer to that as the “Zionist Occupational Government” or ZOG as it is called by many Paleo-Cons.

Continuing; After coming the realization that the Paleo-Con right was not much about anything other than bitterness and resentment of those who kicked them to the sidelines for being the true bigots that they are. I basically decided to become a part of that “Echo Chamber.” I tried that for a while and for I while I was content with it. However, as I went along; I simply began to grow frustrated with what I saw as just straight up propaganda by the right. Especially when it came to President Obama. I mean, I do not like his Socialist nonsense anymore than anyone else. But there is just some of that “Shrieking Harpy” nonsense that I just do not agree with. Further more, I still remain convinced that Wilson foreign policy is just wrong. I have always vowed on this blog, that I would tell you want I think. Even if it means that someone calls me a “Neo-Con”, a “fake Conservative” or whatever else that any of this mindless sheep want to hang on me. I would rather be truthful and straight with you all, than to push a damned MeMe on a blog to suit everyone else. My feelings are SCREW EVERYONE ELSE. Because they are not me; and I will not publish propaganda here to appease anyone else. I have never done that, and I never will.

In Closing: I hope Glenn Beck’s new site is an independent Conservative Voice that speaks for itself; and not the talking points of the Right. More of that is needed, and that is what I will do here on this Blog, no matter the cost.

It Begins: Anti-Semite Accusations

Yep, My intended target has noticed, and now they’re threatening tactics of the far-left. Which is no surprise, seeing most of those people, are just Democrats in Republican clothing.

I guess the truth must hurt.

So much for them tolerate Conservatives. I thought Democrats were the only intolerant crowd?

As for what this anonymous twit accused me of; this stuff happened long ago and I have apologized on this blog many times over for stuff I did, when I was on the left.

I will say this; I do reserve the right to litigate against RedState’s owner for allowing a blogger of theirs to post my blog without my consent. I do have a Lawyer friend of mine, who owes me a favor. Might take him up on that Pro-Bono offer.

I guess that is the price you pay, when you speak the truth about that crowd.

Blogger Friend of mine could use a little help

I have argued with him, when I thought he was wrong. I have cursed him, when I did not like what he had to say. However, when it comes right down to it. I still like the little scrawny skinny sawed off runt.

Yes, that’s right, I am referring to none other than Robert Stacy McCain.

McCain and I have something in common —-  Calhoun, Georgia.  He worked there at the paper many moons ago and some of my family on my Mom’s side of the family lived there at one point. Dalton, Calhoun, and now they are all over the place in Georgia. You see, most of my people lived in Dalton, Georgia. Well, when we wanted to go see the one aunt; my grandmother’s sister, we went to Calhoun. Hence my association with Calhoun, Georgia. I figure if McCain was from around that area, he cannot be that bad of a guy. As for what a certain unnamed pony-tailed gilipollas in California might think, McCain is not what he says he is. If you are a political Blogger, you know what I am be referring to.

Anyways, I happen to check over at McCain’s Blog this morning and this was staring me in the face:

Yes, that is a $678 repair bill. (What he gets for owning a foreign piece of crap! Serves him right! Harrumph!)

The first thing I thought was, “I told that guy that he couldn’t use that car to jump over creeks.” Turns out, it’s engine trouble. Mr. McCain explains his plight:

Friday afternoon Mrs. Other McCain said, “Oh, Jim just called — you need to go pick up the part for the car.” This required a trip across town to a machine shop, where my 17-year-old son had taken the valve head for our 2004 KIA Optima.

Two weeks ago, the timing belt broke. No problem, it seemed at first. My son and his friend replaced the timing belt but, when they went to start it, it turned out that four of the 16 valves were bent. (This being a side-effect of the broken timing belt, although the mechanics of this side-effect are alien to me.)

OK, so the valve head — the part on top of the engine to which the phrase “double overhead valve” refers — had to go to a machine shop to be repaired. Again, no problem, it seemed. The work would cost “four hundred something,” my son said, and we were prepared to bite the bullet.

Having a teenage son who’s a budding shade-tree mechanic (mentored by his more accomplished buddy) certainly saves labor costs. “Four hundred something” is nothing compared to what this kind of job would cost at a regular auto-repair place. So when my wife dispatched me to fetch the part, I had in mind a certain price that would be paid.

What I didn’t know was that Jim had also ordered gaskets and other parts necessary to doing this repair, and when the man at the machine shop — who may have been the eponymous Denny — told me the bill was nearly $700, my reaction was shocked anguish.

You ask, “So, why does he need my help?” Well, Mr. McCain is a full time writer and blogger, like me. In other words, He’s unemployed; his wife works, but when you have 575, 879,456 (or so… Seriously, I think he has 5 or 6 kids) kids, a house note, a car note for the car that he just fixed, Food costs and so forth — it all adds up. Now, unlike me; he does not have the “support system” other than his legion of fans in the Conservative Blogging World. Not to mention that he is one hell of a good Blogger, that every now and again, he scores a scoop! Not to mention that he has been known to travel to all sorts of neat places to cover political events. For what it is worth, he is not a unknown —- unlike me 🙁 — in fact, he is a pretty well known figure in politics.

So, if you can spare a little chump change, head on over to Mr. McCain’s blog and help the old bastard out. If you do, you shall heap bucket loads of Hosannas and a good JuJu on your head; and everyone knows, good juju is always a good thing.

For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. – (Matthew 25:35-46 KJV)

Update: Stacy McCain links over here and comments:

LOL! Actually, I am what used to be called a freelance journalist. The decline of print journalism has made this a problematic job description. Getting paid to write is one thing. Getting expense money is something else entirely.

To which I reply:

“You say Tomato…I say Tomato….”

Anyhow, send the old bastard some money. Because I’d really hate to see McCain getting his butt kicked by his wife. Not that he doesn’t deserve it. 😛

Bloggers on the Dole?

Actually this is nothing really new; bloggers have been charging for favorable coverage for a long time.

Via the Daily Caller:

Katie Couric once described bloggers as journalists who gnaw at new information “like piranhas in a pool.” But increasingly, many bloggers are also secretly feeding on cash from political campaigns, in a form of partisan payola that erases the line between journalism and paid endorsement.

“It’s standard operating procedure” to pay bloggers for favorable coverage, says one Republican campaign operative. A GOP blogger-for-hire estimates that “at least half the bloggers that are out there” on the Republican side “are getting remuneration in some way beyond ad sales.”

One pro-Poizner blogger, Aaron Park, was discovered to be a paid consultant to the Poizner campaign while writing for Red County, a conservative blog about California politics. Red County founder Chip Hanlon threw Park off the site upon discovering his affiliation, which had not been disclosed.

Poizner’s campaign was shocked to learn of the arrangement, apparently coordinated by an off-the-reservation consultant. For Park, though, it was business as usual. In November 2009, for instance, he approached the campaign of another California office-seeker — Chuck DeVore, who was then running for Senate — with an offer to blog for money.

“I can be retained at a quite reasonable rate or for ‘projects,’” Park wrote in an e-mail to campaign officials. In an interview, Park defended himself by claiming, “nobody has any doubt which candidates I’m supporting,” and noting that his blog specifies which candidates he “endorses.”

But while Red County’s Hanlon expressed outrage at Park’s pay-for-blogging scheme, questions arose about his own editorial independence when it emerged that Red County itself had been taking money from the Whitman campaign.

There is also a connection to those in the Blogosphere, which I am familiar with:

Dan Riehl, who writes the Riehl World View blog, is one of Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele’s most vocal defenders in the conservative blogosphere. When The Daily Caller reported the RNC spent $1,946 at a bondage-themed nightclub featuring topless women dancers imitating lesbian sex acts, Riehl blasted the piece as a “pathetically weak story tailored to play to the Left and create problems for the GOP.”

“Riehl World View” readers might be interested to know that Riehl is not simply a blogger, but also a paid consultant to the RNC. In an interview, Riehl said he was paid an amount in the “hundreds of dollars” for writing a strategy document on how the RNC could better reach out to bloggers. Riehl said his motivation for defending Steele was to aid the Republican Party, and that he didn’t disclose his consulting work because, “I didn’t see it as having anything to do with my views.”

“I never made enough money to be bought,” he said.

Other bloggers openly lament how few campaign dollars are flowing their way. Conservative blogger Robert Stacy McCain complains that politicians aren’t purchasing more advertising on blogs. “Advertising buys good will,” he says.

There we have the huge difference between myself and many of the other Bloggers out there. Advertising on my blog, will NOT buy my good will. Because basically, when someone pays you to say nice things about them, you become something, that I feel goes totally against what is known as a free, independent press. A propagandist. You ask, “But isn’t a political blogger, a propagandist?” Not Hardly. There is a difference between having a political opinion or position; and being bought off by a political party or a candidate to write favorable for them or cover a candidate’s event and write favorable about it. One is an honorable position, whether it be left or right; the other is corrupt. There are those who do it, and it sickens me. It bastardizes the political Blogosphere and robs it of any credibility.

The only sort of postings on this blog, that I will ever do, are “sponsored” postings. A perfect example, would be found here, where I post a snippet of a blog posting and then send the reader to a site to sign up for stock and gold investment tips. So, far, I have not been paid for that; I get paid, if enough people sign up for the service and I clearly mark the post as a “Sponsored Posting.” Further more, that sort of thing does not buy “my opinion” on anything, least of investing, because I know exactly “Jack Crap” about it. I admit it, I do it for the money.

However, when it comes to my opinions on politics, no money has ever, nor will it ever buy me out, ever. I have been known to, and will continue to turn fire on Conservatives, Christians, and Republicans. I even once took on Matt Drudge, not that he ever knew about it; but I still did!  Also, Of course, I will also criticize, berate, and mock the Socialist, Progressive, Far-left in this Country; which is why this Blog was started.  Of course, I do not always hammer President Obama, I have been known to Praise Obama, when I thought he deserved it. However, when I thought the President was wrong, I also wrote about it. I have also criticized the Iraq War from day one as well. One will also note, that I have been VERY critical of the Conservative movement’s darling, Sarah Palin.

Anyhow, I believe that this clearly shows, that I am not a biased blogger and that I am not a Partisan Blogger. However, I am someone with an opinion, an open mind, and a Blog.

Update: Now a Memeornadum Thread, even if that asshole did quit scanning me.

The Classless Left: Exhibit S for Stupid

In today’s installment of the classless left; we have a perfect example of what happens when a leftist blogger cannot come up with a good defense of an rather huge accusation.

As I previously reported, there will be some tapes of that Park 51 imam released to the public on monday, basically showing that he is not as “Moderate” as he claims to be.

So, what do Leftest bloggers do in response to this? But, of course, they play the race card:

Over at entry at a blog called Balloon Juice, owned bu a guy named John Cole, this ass clown writes an entry named “Two Words: Whitey Tape.”

Here is a screen shot of the entry:

This guy, back when I was still a half ass “left of center”, got his undies in a knot over President Bush and switched sides politically basically. At the time, I understood how he felt, still kind of do.

….and now that he’s shilling for the liberal left, he is employing their tactics. Playing race-baiting bullshit games, all the while rooting for potential terrorist sympathizers.  It is a good gig, I guess, if that is what you want to be known as; now before Cole’s sock puppets come after me, let me say this. I am one of the more moderate voices on the right. I’ve been known to “turn fire,” so to speak, on my own side, when I thought they were being overly stupid okay? But this bullshit here is just fucking wrong and I think Cole knows that.

I would call this guy another Charles Johnson; but quite honesty, I think that would be insult….to Charles.

Possibly the best thing ever written about the Park51 mess

Rick Moran over at Right Wing Nuthouse Writes:

If you know a little history about Catholics in America, you will recognize that they were saying much the same thing 160 years ago with the first great influx of Irish immigrants. The myth that America is tolerant of other religions is belied by the historical treatment of Catholics and Jews in this country. While lip service is paid to constitutional protections, as late as 50 years ago, there were serious conversations carried out by serious people about whether electing a Catholic president would doom us to rule from Rome.

I’d advise you to go read the rest of that. Rick is one of the more saner voices on the right — well, outside of me, of course. 😉 His point is VERY valid. There was a time, when the right wing hated on Catholics, Jews and anyone else, who wasn’t Christian White American. In fact, there are places on the web, where stuff like that can be seen now. Like HERE for instance.

Possibly the greatest political t-shirt ever made

If you loved the photo, you absolutely love this T-Shirt:

Good Grief: I thought my life sucked

Then I read stuff like this:

My frequent references to Mrs. Other McCain (“she’s got a kitchen full of knives and I’ve got to sleep sometime“) are a humorous allusion to a serious reality. When I flew back from Vegas a couple weeks ago, after having been a wee bit reckless at the roulette wheel, Mrs. Other McCain was so mad at me she wouldn’t even pick me up at the airport. She was so mad, in fact, she honestly didn’t care whether I came home or not. It was one of the most awful feelings of my life.

Remember, she met me when I was making $275 a week as the sports editor of a twice-weekly paper in a Georgia carpet-mill town you never heard of. She only married me because I promised her the sun, the moon and the stars, and I’d have never amounted to anything had it not been for (a) my determination to fulfill that promise and (b) having a sensible wife who supplies the necessary caution to balance my wild-eyed impulsiveness. When I was scrambling to find a way home from the airport a couple of weeks ago, I wasn’t just feeling heartbroken over the possible loss of her superfine sexiness, but also facing a potentially shattering blow to my entire self-concept.

Another pathetic middle-aged divorced guy? Not me.

No sir: One life, one wife.

A major reason guys become that pathetic middle-aged divorced stereotype is because, to quote the immortal poetry of Kitty Wells, “too many times, married men think they’re still single.”

Or as is more often the case, they convey that impression by employing a timeworn lie: “My wife doesn’t understand me.”

Girls, if a married guy ever throws that line on you, run — don’t walk — in the opposite direction. Preferably, after you’ve thrown a drink in the guy’s face.

Poor guy. I feel for him. This is why I am single.

On Michelle Obama’s trip to Spain: Let me ask one question

Video via Mediaite:

Ed Morrissey Says:

The end of the world? Obviously not. Tone deaf? Absolutely. And it’s telling that this tone-deaf, Marie Antoinette moment comes from the administration that continues to play class warfare to expand government control over the most private aspects of American lives.

My question to Ed and rest of the Conservatives and Republicans is this; would this criticism be as howling loud, if the President’s skin was white? I somehow highly doubt it. For the record, I am not calling Ed Morrissey personally a racist; I just have some reservations about all of this howling over what Michelle Obama does. Yes, I know about the recession and the tone deafness and private sector intrusion. I just wonder, where were all these carnival barkers when Bush was bailing out the banks? Where were they when Bush was spending all of this money taking us into a war; that had zero to do with 9/11?

This is one of the reasons why I have been avoiding this story. Mainly because of the partisanship that is behind it. I am all for criticizing the President; when he actually does something that is worthy of criticism. However, I am just not interested in partaking in, what I like to call partisan carnival barking. This blog, unlike others, is not a partisan blog. I mean, when the President does something, that I feel is detrimental to America; by all means, I will criticize him, scream, holler and swing from the rafters if need be. (Okay, maybe I won’t do the swinging.. I am a bit heavy for that…) However, I just will not sit here and gripe about something that Bush could have and would have done. To me, that is just stupid.

I will say that the carnival does happen on the left too and yes, it is equally as dumb. I have been known to call it out on here as well. So, if you happen to see a story and I have not covered, this is most likely why.

Stupidity from the Moderation Cue

You just did the same thing.  You are speculating about what could be wrong with him and making wild accusations but offering no proof whatsoever.  Don’t be such a hypocrite
If he is stark raving mad, then what are you when you use the same tactics?

First:

Second of all:

This is my damn blog and I will write about what I please; and if you really do not like it. You do not have to read here. There is not any law that says you have to.

Third of all:

The Mental Case - Andrew Sullivan

I am calling Andrew Sullivan crazy, because that is what he is…. damned crazy. The man calls himself a so-called “Conservative” all the while trashing a woman who is a Conservative Christian. This was not just one posting, but a entire books worth of pure crap. The man is crazy, and anyone who is worth their salt in Conservatism knows it. He is not a Conservative; but rather a Liberal posing as a Conservative. Some say he is a British Conservative; But I think it’s more of a mental problem than anything else.

Also, Hypocrisy? Hypocrisy??!?!?!? How’s this for Hypocrisy? — All during the election, the media went over Sarah Palin, her kids, her family; everything… with a fine tooth comb. But no ONE person in the lame stream media would dare say a cross word about President Barack Obama’s snooty-nosed brat kids, at all. Hell, even Chelsea Clinton was giving rougher treatment by the media, than President Obama’s kids! That is what I call hypocrisy!

So, don’t come here and leave stupid comments about me being a damned hypocrite, because I will just delete them. You want to be a cheerleader for the mentally and yes, morally depraved pieces human excrement’s like Andrew Sullivan, fine. Start your own damned blog and do so. Because it is not going to happen here; period.

The most sane thing I have read about the DOJ Black Panther Case yet

It comes from none other than Rick Moran over at Right Wing NutHouse:

I don’t for a minute believe Holder and Obama are racists. I believe they are politically correct jackasses who sought to bestow a political gift on a favored constituency. For those – including Boehlert – who believe that this issue was small potatoes, perhaps they might explain the furious activity surrounding it from both the White House and the Department of Justice. This timeline of White House involvement and NAACP lobbying on behalf of the Panthers pretty much destroys the idea that there was a legitimate reason to drop the civil suit. It was politics, pure and simple. And having spent the 2008 campaign rightly railing against the politicization of the Bush justice department, Obama and Holder could hardly be expected to admit to doing the same.

This doesn’t excuse Limbaugh or Beck from making their jaw dropping claims about Obama sticking it to white people or that the president is trying to foment a race war. But are those comments ignorant, stupid, irrational, and paranoid? Or are they racist?

You simply can’t automatically identify political speech you disagree with as racist like Boehlert does in his ridiculously exaggerated screed. Of course it’s bonkers to believe that Obama wants a race war, or that he’s out for payback against whites for slavery. But why is that necessarily a racist comment? What makes it racist, specifically? If it were racist based on the fact that it’s nutty and dead wrong, that encompasses a lot of territory. And ascribing racist attitudes based solely on the fact that the president is black just doesn’t cut it unless you want to drastically demean and lower the bar for what constitutes racism in political speech. Using that formula, all opposition speech against the president should be dismissed as racist – an outcome no doubt devoutly wished for by Obama partisans but nonsense on its face.

Go read the rest… It is very good.

Kennedy McCain got married

Ladies and Gents,

I present to you, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Nestares:

Mr. and Mrs. Martin Nestares

Say what you want about Robert Stacy McCain; but my God does he have a Beautiful Daughter! 😀

Congrats to the Bride and the Groom; and yes, to dear old Dad too! 😉

I guess that is another one that I will have to cross off my list. 😛

A short note of thanks

To Doug over at American Power for the link love from His Blog and Right Wing News.

My warmest welcome to the readers of these blogs.

The story is this; Doug was not on BlogAds and I got him an invite to join it. Doug and I don’t agree on everything. But he is a decent person. So, as someone who’s gotten my share of breaks in the Conservative Blogosphere; I thought I would help him out.

So, to the readers of both of these fine Blogs. I simply will tell you this. I might not be the perfect image of what some of you might consider a “Perfect Conservative”; but I am definitely not what I was, politically, about ten or so years ago or even maybe back in 2006, when I first started into blogging. Also, I will say this; I am not a partisan blogger, I do not and will not ever, carry water for a political party. I will always speak the truth, as to what I feel about a subject.  I will tell you what I feel, even if it means that I may just chase some readers off. I would rather you know how I feel and you decide that this blog is not for you; than for me to hold back or even lie; just for the sake of your readership and you maybe clicking my ads. Being true to one’s self is more important than any sort of profit to be made on a blog.

Again, welcome to my little humble abode, read the comment rules, and please feel free to speak back to me. 😀

To Doug I say: Merci, bedankt, tak, dankie, falĂ«nderim, hvala, and so on….

Erick Erickson is a hypocritical twit

Pot meet kettle….

Erick Erickson on Bob Inglis….:

Hogan mentioned Bob Bennett’s comments earlier. Bennett thought it beneath him and outside conservatism to think the constitution may limit him, a senator, from legislating.

Well, over in South Carolina, Daniel Foster points out another example, defeated Republican Bob Inglis.

Inglis, defeated in a Republican primary by tea party activists, has shared what he really thinks of conservatives — they are racist, bigotted, and easily led by villains like Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck.

The soon to be former congressman loathes the term “death panel” and thinks people who criticize Barack Obama are racists, just like those tea party activists who, on the day they were throwing Bob Inglis out of office, were putting in office an Indian lady and a black guy down in Charleston.

I guess they are blind racists. Somebody ask Bob Inglis to confirm.

Now just a few days ago, on Michael Steele:

I have heard Michael Steele’s comments regarding Afghanistan and the President.

I have read the RNC’s statement on the matter.

The RNC statement is indecipherable in the context of what Michael Steele actually said.

The war in Afghanistan is not a war of Barack Obama’s choosing. It is a war of Al Qaeda and the Taliban’s choosing. We responded.

Michael Steele must resign. He has lost all moral authority to lead the GOP.

That part I underlined, is the talking-point of the Wilsonian, Statist Republicans and Conservatives who believe in a perpetual war in Iraq and Afghanistan and any other damned where they think terrorists might be hiding. The truth is that nobody knows for sure, where Osama Bin Laden is even at anymore; further more, anyone who has tried to build a Nation in Afghanistan, has failed at it, but that means nothing to people like Liz Cheney and  Erick Erickson. People like these two want war — forever or as along as it is profitable to big businesses like the one’s that Dick Cheney and the Bush Family owns.

So, yeah, I am calling out Erick Erickson for his blatant hypocritical crap here.  How dare he call someone else a Statist? When he himself has made the same damned type of statements —- But just on a different subject.
