May I go on the record as saying that this here is straight up BULLCRAP?

I am referring to this here:

Not only is this stupid as hell, it is HIGHLY ILLEGAL!

Don’t believe me? See for yourself:

No employer or his agent or a corporation shall print or authorize to be printed upon any pay envelopes any statements intended or calculated to influence the political action of his or its employees; or post or exhibit in the establishment or anywhere in or about the establishment any posters, placards, or hand bills containing any threat, notice, or information that if any particular candidate is elected or defeated work in the establishment will cease in whole or in part, or other threats expressed or implied, intended to influence the political opinions or votes of his or its employees.

That, by the way, is Ohio Revised Code regarding elections.

I am not Democrat; I am a Independent Conservative — more libertarian than anything else. The reason why this steams me, is because it is nothing more than straight up fascism and it is wrong as hell.

The idiot that did this,  has apologized:

As an independent business owner, my employees are a top priority for me. I work hard to create a positive restaurant environment for everyone. I greatly value my employees and the contributions they make to my business, each and every day. Without a doubt it’s my employees’ right and his or her choice, if they decide to vote, and if so, for whom. I strive to comply with all laws, including state and federal election laws. Distributing this communication was an error of judgment on my part. Please know, it was never my intention to offend anyone. For those that I have offended, I sincerely apologize.

If I were the head-honchos at McDonald’s corporate, I would jerk this idiot’s franchise right out from under him. He has zero and I do mean ZERO business telling any person that works for him, how to vote,  at all, period, end of story. It is not only against the law, it is just bad business. That would be like me, owning some business and telling my people, “You vote Democrat and I will fire you!” It is against the law.

Now before any idiot, who happens to be a Republican or a Conservative tries to tell me that I am wrong. Save your damned breath; I know the law and I also happen to be someone who believes in rule of law. This here violates that all over the place. The only type of Conservative that would disagree with me, is the idiot Neo-Conservatives, who are not much into upholding the rule of law. The last 8 years prior to Obama’s Presidency was living proof of that.

  1. This is not as bad as Al Gore electioneering right out of the Whitehouse itself a few years back, or just the other day, Michelle Obama pushing for votes RIGHT INSIDE A VOTING PRECINCT! What do you have to say about that, [SNIPPED… You can make your point without using my last name, thank you… -Pat] Which one is worse?? Or what about handing out voting forms pushing for Democrats at an educational facility and BUSING THE STUDENTS DOWN TO FILL OUT AND VOTE RIGHT THEN? Then we have an exception of the new health law for McDonalds and a some other chosen few. If you are going to bitch about one obvious person/organization rubbing our nose in it, look around for a bunch of others on both sides doing it.

    1. I never said I thought any of those things are right. They are wrong as well.

Boy, you Republicans are awful testy when someone challenges you all. 🙄

      1. Then you better get used to the idea of these things going on. Our only weapon at this time is our voting power. The only other way to change things that I know of is actual outright physical revolution as in colonial days. However, I don’t think that this country will gather up the will, gumption and courage to pull it off in unison. This is a very divided country, and the powers that be with the media behind them has succeeded in destroying what was a powerful country to what it is today. They have made us into “us and them” and Democrats vs. Republicans, and Liberals (progressives, whatever)and conservatives. It’s already a war here, a war of ideas and words, and Democrats are supposed to be the ‘understanding, forgiving, feel-your-pain party. The only thing they feel is power and more of it when they get in office.
As far as being testy when challenged, are you saying that Liberals are nice and easy going when they are challenged??? Certainly not from what I am seeing and reading in the blogs. They are the most vitriolic and screamingest bunch I have seen, and rant and rave at you when you don’t agree with them. I know all conservatives are not serene either, as there are extremists on both sides. I wish that every politician had to take a common sense test and pass it to get into office, but that is a dead character trait these days, and certainly no Liberal I have met or talked to has one iota of it. Believe me, I know what a Liberal is and how they act. My brother is one through and through and he is unbearable for me to even be around.

        1. Hi William,

My replies are below your quotes:

Then you better get used to the idea of these things going on.

Oh, I’ve been used to that for a while now.

Our only weapon at this time is our voting power.

Quite True. I still believe in that power, by the way. Many don’t. I pity them. But I still believe in the American political system. I do not always agree with it. But, I trust it.

The only other way to change things that I know of is actual outright physical revolution as in colonial days.

          That will never happen.

However, I don’t think that this country will gather up the will, gumption and courage to pull it off in unison.

          I agree.

This is a very divided country, and the powers that be with the media behind them has succeeded in destroying what was a powerful country to what it is today.

Who might them “Powers that be” be? Just wondering.

They have made us into “us and them” and Democrats vs. Republicans, and Liberals (progressives, whatever)and conservatives.

That is because there is a HUGE difference between Progressives and Conservatives. In case you did not know that. 😀 Progressives believe in Tax and Spend, or Keynesian Economics, which we have seen, has failed us….again. Most Conservatives — unless of course, you are some idiotic Neo-Con, believe in Austrian Economics, which is what this Country was founded upon.

It’s already a war here, a war of ideas and words, and Democrats are supposed to be the ‘understanding, forgiving, feel-your-pain party. The only thing they feel is power and more of it when they get in office.

          I agree.

As far as being testy when challenged, are you saying that Liberals are nice and easy going when they are challenged???

Nope, not saying that at all.

Certainly not from what I am seeing and reading in the blogs.

          Me Either.

They are the most vitriolic and screamingest bunch I have seen, and rant and rave at you when you don’t agree with them.

          I know, I’ve seen that.

I know all conservatives are not serene either, as there are extremists on both sides.

Don’t I know it. See here to see what I mean.

I wish that every politician had to take a common sense test and pass it to get into office, but that is a dead character trait these days, and certainly no Liberal I have met or talked to has one iota of it.

          I agree.

Believe me, I know what a Liberal is and how they act. My brother is one through and through and he is unbearable for me to even be around.

How’d you like to have to live with two of them? It’s rough, believe you me.

Now, as for what I posted about; that has nothing to do with your comment. I was simply stating that I though that telling employees how to vote was wrong and I still do. So, thanks for the comment, but I think you got the wrong idea about me.

          Cheers!

          -Pat

  2. The ‘powers that be’ are the elitists that are on the sidelines. The Bilderbergs, members of the WTO, (or whatever that meeting was about that their were protesters galore outside), the Council on Foreign Relations, and several other secret organizations (skull and crossbones that most all the presidents were a member of). People like George Soros sticking his nose and money in American politics, all those with the big money and are in a position of influence in or out of this country.
Just like the mortgage mess, a greedy couple sat down and figured out that damn ARM loan, and the sheep out here that can’t read or write or cipher good got took to the cleaners. My daughter was even smart enough to not want an ARM loan on her house, and she isn’t a cpa, just a person that wanted her mortgage interest rate to stay the same throughout the full loan. Wasn’t those loan terms explained to borrowers? Or were they too stupid to figure out that if your house payment will more than double in two years?
The Las Vegas crash in the home market out there was because the buyer KNEW their payments would double, they just thought that they could sell the house before it was time to double. This whole mortgage mess was started when Barney and Chris wanted everybody to have the “American Dream” of owning a home. Sorry, it can’t work that way, not everybody can afford a house. I didn’t buy a home until I was 5 years into my career and was ready.
I will say that I had the wrong idea about you, and I apologize. You say that you are a Libertarian, which is better than Democrat, and I am a Republican, but not a dyed-in-the-wool type. The last few years I am more of an Independent as I don’t like what either major party is doing lately. Libertarians are better than either major party, but there are things that they want to do that I also don’t agree with.
I was a Democrat until after Carter ruined the party and the Liberals took it over. I was once a Zell Miller Democrat, or like JFK was, as in that day Democrats were totally different than today. You have probably figured out by now that I am not a young man. I couldn’t vote until after LBJ was out of office, so figure it out.

    1. I will say that I had the wrong idea about you, and I apologize.

Apology accepted. Please, feel free to add me to your bookmarks, and come again! 😀
