Republican Strategist Todd Harris is a liar.

I was just watching MSNBC’s Hardball. I just watched Todd Harris lie through his teeth.

He sat right there on that show and said that the U.A.W’s President was NOT at the “Bail out Hearings”

Uhmmmm.. Todd?

Auto industry executives, from left, General Motors CEO Richard Wagoner; Chrysler CEO Robert Nardelli; Ford CEO Alan Mulally; and Ron Gettelfinger, president of the International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America, testify on Capitol Hill in Washington, Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008

Somebody needs to tell Todd Harris to brush up on his talking points. Because here. He is just flat wrong.

  1. Not only that, but he kept saying that UAW Auto workers make $70/hr, which is a blatant lie as well… he should be challenged to come up with a check stub that says so. He will not find one. Hey, Todd! Go to Michigan to Detroit and get us one of those check stubs that shows $70/hr… you will not find one. Then he said they make that much in Detroit, which is just plain silly… All UAW auto workers are under the same contract nation wide for their wages. How do I know this? My husband has worked for GM for 38 years, and he worked in Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota throughout his time with the company. This is the perception that Todd and his ‘ kind ‘ want the public to believe, that UAW auto workers make three times as much as they do, and that they don’t give up concessions, like cutting wages in half for new employees, or offering to take the health care costs over for GM through the VEBA. I don’t know why he would come on public TV and state such blatant untruths… he should check his facts out. The Democrat strategist on the same show opposite of him said the truth… UAW Auto workers make from $ 14/hr- $25/ hr, and it is true skilled trades makes more, but no where near what Todd Harris said. He was quoting the overall benefit package when you factor in all of the wages plus pension and health care costs.

I guess Todd Harris did not bother to see the interviews of the Detroit 3 plus Gettelfinger, who also talked and shared during their interview. Otherwise he would have known better. I hope he is more informed next time he speaks out.
