Updated: Communism Unleashed: The White House threatens Chrysler investors

Now this here is a bunch of Bull. My Dad’s a Union man, But, I think even any Democrat, that even has an ounce of a brain. Would think something is wrong with this.

Lauria: Let me tell you it’s no fun standing on this side of the fence opposing the President of the United States. In fact, let me just say, people have asked me who I represent. That’s a moving target. I can tell you for sure that I represent one less investor today than I represented yesterday. One of my clients was directly threatened by the White House and in essence compelled to withdraw its opposition to the deal under the threat that the full force of the White House Press Corps would destroy its reputation if it continued to fight. That’s how hard it is to stand on this side of the fence.

Now, let me be clear here; I am all for saving of jobs. But communist-style strong arm tactics, is just damned wrong. Of course, you’ve got your liberals who arm dismissing this. But folks, this is serious. What if you had a contract or an investment and it was ripped away from you? I suspect many of you would be ticked! I know I would be. Of course, our feckless Liberal media is not touching this, at all. Not that I am surprised.

If this is what the next four years is going to be like, I fear for this country. 🙁

Update: Via Jack Tapper: The White House is now denying the charges:

A leading bankruptcy attorney representing hedge funds and money managers told ABC News Saturday that Steve Rattner, the leader of the Obama administration’s Auto Industry Task Force, threatened one of the firms, an investment bank, that if it continued to oppose the administration’s Chrysler bankruptcy plan, the White House would use the White House press corps to destroy its reputation.

The White House said the story was false.

“The charge is completely untrue,” said White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton, “and there’s obviously no evidence to suggest that this happened in any way.”

I do not buy that at all, sorry. Neither does Ed Morrisey over at HotAir.com:

Meanwhile, Tommy Christopher — who actually reports from the White House — dismisses the charge:

As far as the “threat” Lauria alleges, it sounds an awful lot like someone told his client that public opinion would not likely be favorable to people who would obstruct a fair deal to save Chrysler. That’s not a threat, it is a reality. It’s no more a “threat” than John McCain’s campaign promise to make earmarkers “famous.”

Apples and oranges.  McCain threatened to make public officials “famous” for wasting taxpayer money.  The Obama administration allegedly threatened to use the WHPC to destroy the reputations of private citizens as a punishment for not relinquishing their contractual rights for having helped float Chrysler.  There’s a huge difference between the two.

Indeed, the White House just got caught with it’s proverbial “Britches” down and now they’re spinning and denying. Kind of like the stuff that President George W. Bush used to do, but now it is on the other side. The difference is this. Had this been Bush’s White House and the person being threatened was a Environmental company? It would have been front page news. But because it is a big old mean “Rich” investor, it is a Conservative story. Oh, the irony and hypocrisy of it all.

Clearing the air on my Blog’s ability to ban

It appears that I have created a bit controversy on another blog, because of my blog’s zero tolerance policy on trolls.

To refresh, it says on my Blog’s Comment policy:

Here’s the rules: (I used to have this long blathering post…. but I figured the short and sweet will work better)

  1. No trolling.
  2. No Spam
  3. No Stupidity
  4. Disagreements are fine, but don’t be stupid about it and use some intelligence to back your disagreement.
  5. This Blog as a zero tolerance policy towards ad-hominem attacks. You do it and your banned, period.

Update: (November 9. 2008 ) For what it is worth, I am a Christian and although this is a Political Blog; I do sometimes post stuff from a Christian slant. I am pro-Christian biased, I no apologies for this. I try and remain neutral on most issues, regarding Israel and such. Having said that, if you’re a Atheist and this offends you, go elsewhere. Leaving idiotic comments insulting my beliefs will do nothing more than get you ignored. Continuing this will get you banned from commenting here.

Well, it seems that that some troll, at another blog did not like the idea that I would dare to ban someone based upon their IP address, which a plug-in, for this blog’s software, allows me to do.

To date, I have banned exactly 11 IP addresses from this blog; believe me when I say it, they all; every damned last one of them, had it coming. They violated my rules, and I tossed thier sorry asses in the street. I have even banned three countries; those being the countries of Russia, Iran and China . I would ban the country of North Korea; but they do not have their own internet suffix. Why do I ban these countries? For one simple reason, none of these countries have true freedom of speech in them.

Reading this blog, and participating in the comment section is not a right, it is a privilege. If you break my rules or you are a country that quashes freedom of speech; you simple are not welcomed here. Trolling is not welcomed here and I have the proper tools to fight it; and I will if need be. For the record, I do not have moderation enabled here; I do not need it, if someone gets out of line, they get a warning, next time, they’re gone. That is usually how it is done at most blogs, crooks and liars does the same stuff. As does most other blogs too. Now some simple minded troll will say, “Well, you believe in freedom of speech, but you will censor me!” There’s a HUGE, BIG, GOB SMACKING Difference between freedom of speech, and abusive behavior. I do not mind the one, but the other, I will not tolerate. Some have come here and thought that they could play that little game of trying to bait me into an attack. They’ve also found themselves unable to access this blog too. I don’t tolerate it, because I do not have to.

Do I censor comments? If need be; Yes. One of the biggest things, that happens on blogs on both sides of the political fence is this. Some idiot will make a horribly inappropriate comment about a subject, like someone dying or something like this; and the other side will raise that up a flag pole and show that as an example of why that group of people are so horrible. I avoid all that, someone does something like that here. I’ll either pull the comment or snip it, and tell the person that the comment was not permitted here. (I will e-mail them, usually, if the e-mail address is faked; and yes, I usually can tell, I will snip the comment and explain why I did…) Thus avoiding the possibility of a conflict. Some people get the idea that because I do watch the comment section and moderate it at times, when it’s needed; that I am on some sort of power trip.  Nothing could be further from the truth. I hate moderation. But if one is going to be able to keep some sort of control, and civility on a blog, one has to have rules. Otherwise chaos will reign. Sorry, I don’t do chaos, if that’s your bag, there are many blogs on both sides of the political aisle that will be more than happy to accommodate you.

This is what those who are banned will see:

There are most likely two reasons for this.

1. You were abusive or a troll in the comments section
2. You are from a Forum that I do not want viewing my Blog
3. You are in the countries of Russia, Iran or People’s Republic of China

If you are from the Country of Russia, People’s Republic of China or the Islamic Republic of Iran, tell your leaders to embrace true freedom and not political oppression and I might let you back in.

Again, this is not about a “Power trip” or my ego or anything that stuff, that people; like me, are accused of. It is simply about standards. It is also about covering my backside from places that would try and accuse me of breaking the law or something like that.  Some libertarian-minded folks are anarchists, I am not. Spring cleaning in progress

I’m in process of making some changes…

No, I’m not changing the template or the look of the joint. I’m just getting rid of some stuff and changing some stuff around.

Gone are the scrolling political news and Christian news thingies on each side. This isn’t CNN sweetheart, or Drudge for that matter, I’m a freaking’ political opinion Blog for cripes sake.You want news? Get a damn feed reader or something. You want my opinion on the socialist crap of President Bambi Teleprompter? Then this is where you want to be.

I removed an Ad company off my side, for good. it was on the left hand side, and also one was at the bottom of each post, They were from Adbrite. I wasn’t making enough to justify the crap being there. Also, inline ads are gone too. Again, not enough profit to justify driving my damn readers crazy. So, those are gone too. I was getting lots of displays, and a few clicks; as in very few. So, there was no justification for even having it. So, those are gone.

The Amazon Banner at the top, for the Bookstore stays, as does the page with the bookstore.

I also have something in the left sidebar, and I’d like to draw a little attention to it. Hopefully some of you will check out what’s there and buy something. It’s an ad for the Ready Store. Which I happen to think is a great thing. Because whether people want to admit it or not, hyperinflation is coming and I believe an economic collapse is also coming. So, I believe that there is absolutely nothing wrong with being prepared; so, head on over and check out what they are selling.

Anyhow, that is what is happening and hopefully the place will be a little more easier to load and be appealing for those who did not like the clutter before.

She’s an America-Hating Negro First Lady, who hates White people and anyone else, who isn’t black; not to mention she hates any sort of success by White Americans, this is why she favors taking thier damned money, just like her useless Husband. The Obligatory Supreme Court Justice Souter To Retire Posting

Only reason I am posting about this now, is because it broke last night and I was busy with other things.

Supreme Court Justice David Souter is planning to retire at the end of the current court term.

The vacancy will give President Obama his first chance to name a member of the high court and begin to shape its future direction.

At 69, Souter is nowhere near the oldest member of the court. In fact, he is in the younger half of the court’s age range, with five justices older and just three younger. So far as anyone knows, he is in good health. But he has made clear to friends for some time that he wanted to leave Washington, a city he has never liked, and return to his native New Hampshire. Now, according to reliable sources, he has decided to take the plunge and has informed the White House of his decision.

Factors in his decision no doubt include the election of President Obama, who would be more likely to appoint a successor attuned to the principles Souter has followed as a moderate-to-liberal member of the court’s more liberal bloc over the past two decades.

Most people on the right are saying that this guy was not much of a Conservative, so this might not be that big of a deal anyhow. However, it does change the balance of the Government. It tilts the SCOUTS to a more liberal court. Which has some on the far, far, right quite upset. The question is, what will President Obama do? Will he appoint a hyper-uber-Liberal to the seat, or will he appoint a moderate to the seat? Either way, it will be interesting to follow.

Personally, I do not believe that the court is going to go balls out totally liberal. If anything, there will be a ever so slight lean towards a liberal court. But there are enough Conservatives still in the court to keep a Conservative voice up there. So, I think any panicking at this point is just abject foolishness.
