Whoa! Christian Blogger goes there about Roman Catholicism

I could not believe this one, when it came across my RSS reader program. I was shocked! 😮 Why? Well, because it is not everyday that you see stuff like this! 😯

Via Wes Moore at Christian Reader:

A few weeks ago I caused quite a stir. In an article entitled “Positively Discouraging K-Love,” which was about the increasingly shallow teaching of Protestant churches in America, I made a passing but strong comment about Catholicism.

In that article I listed several things you’ll rarely hear on Christian radio (and, by extension, from the average pulpit). One of the bullets I wrote said this: “Non-politically correct issues: Homosexuality, false religions like Mormonism, Catholicism, and Islam, and most of the other items on this list.”

I expected some aggressive comments regarding my critique of Christian radio, but I didn’t anticipate the pushback on this brief phrase. However, the firestorm helped me see the need to do more teaching on this subject, and, in a sense, supported the very point of the article: Nobody teaches on politically incorrect issues anymore.

He goes to make some very valid points; however, he does take cowardly route, which is not surprising amongst evangelicals:

First of all, let me say Protestants and Catholics have much in common. The Catholic Church upholds many important biblical doctrines, such as the Trinity, deity of Christ, virgin birth, the Holy Spirit, and the Resurrection. For this I am thankful.

Furthermore, I applaud the Catholic Church for its stand on ethical issues such as abortion, abstinence, and traditional marriage. I also admire their commitment to causes of mercy around the world, including feeding and clothing the poor and caring for orphans.

And, more than this, I’ve had several Catholic friends over the years that I have both loved and respected. In fact, my two main sources for Catholic belief and doctrine (the 1995 edition of The Catechism of the Catholic Church and Unabridged Christianity by Fr. Mario P. Romero) were given to me years ago by one of my Catholic friends.

In critiquing the teachings of the Catholic Church, I am not saying Protestants have it all figured out and are not lacking biblically in their doctrine or practical obedience (my article “Positively Discouraging K-Love” should be evidence enough of that).

I got news for you Mr. Moore, We Fundamentalist Baptists have NOTHING in common with Roman Catholics; in fact, the Bible talks about the Roman Catholic Church! It calls it the “Great Whore of Babylon!”  You cowardly Protestants may want to try and play nice with those who are savants of the Roman Catholic Church. But, I should note; that you do not speak for me, at all.

This is not to say, that I believe that Roman Catholics are inherently evil; I do not. They are just horribly deceived and are in need of prayer — badly. Further more, I believe it is necessary to say this. That Roman Catholic are not saved and are not true believers. The Bible Says:

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV)

See that up there? That is how a man is saved, by Grace; though faith in Christ. Not by works, not by a Church; but by FAITH in Christ. How does one do this? This way:

But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:8-13 KJV)

This and only this is way to salvation. Anything other than this; is simply nonsense.

  1. I see that you erased (moderated) my first 2 posts so I am sending #1 again. The truth will set you free, brother…moderated or not.
Many protestants can’t handle the truth…and your erasing of my first comment would stand to reason the latter.

(useless stupid pro-roman catholic drivel deleted….)

No Ma’am, I know the truth and it is not the drivel that you are pimping as truth. So, I did not approve it. Further more, I erased your nonsense and approved your moronic comment, showing your insult.

This is not a Catholic Blog, it is a political one, who’s owner just happens to be a Fundamentalist, King James Bible Defending to the death — Baptist! You are NOT going to come here and try to teach your idiotic Catholic Doctrine. Sorry, my blog, my rules, too bad, so sad.

Now,. go worship your false god pope and have a nice day.
