Rocket Launcher Found In Apartment, and the Government does nothing about it

If this does not make your blood boil nothing will:

HOUSTON — Police went to a southwest Houston apartment to break up a disturbance but ended up finding something else, KPRC Local 2 reported Wednesday.

rocket launcher

A woman called police on Monday and said a man was forcing his way into her apartment in the 5300 block of Elm Street.

When officers went inside, they found something that made them concerned enough to call the bomb squad.

They found an AT-4 shoulder-mounted rocket launcher. It can shoot a missile nearly 1,000 feet through buildings and tanks.

“It gives infantrymen the advantage with an ultra-light weapon that can stop vehicles, armored vehicles as well as main battle tanks and fortifications,” said Oscar Saldivar of Top Brass Military and Tactical on the North Freeway.

That type of rocket launcher has been used in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The renter of the apartment didn’t want to talk to KPRC Local 2.

“This is my house,” the woman said. ” Get away from here. I don’t want to talk to nobody.”

You want to know why this totally pisses me off? I will tell you why. Have these idiots noticed that there was an attempted terrorist attack on Christmas Eve? Further more, there is another reason; it is called political correctness. Had this been a white man, just fresh out of the United States Military, the Government would have been all over this one. But because it was some turban-wearing fuck, who most likely was a Jihadist; he gets off with just local charge of Breaking and Entering. Oh yes, we would not want to offend CAIR, now would we?

I will tell you all this; if there is another major terrorists attack in this Country, it will be because of the inane stupidity of the Government officals on all levels; City, State and Federal. The Democrats will not be able to pin it on Bush anymore; this is their baby now. They will have no one to blame —– but themselves.

  1. Overreaction.

Warranted? Maybe, given the name of the guy who was storing it there.

But let’s get down to cases. An AT-4 is a single shot weapon. The launch tube itself, if it does not have the original rocket loaded into it, is no more dangerous to anyone than an expended round of rifle brass is.

What’s someone going to do, throw the tube at someone? That’s all the damage it is capable of doing. They quote one “Don Clark” as noting that the ordnance itself can be, but they never tell you that it was empty. Which it had to be, or they’d have really wet their pants.

I repeat. That launch tube, once the rocket has been fired, is nothing that can ever damage anything again, unless you hit them with it.

Granted, when you combine the words “rocket launcher” with an Islamic name, my first reaction is to pick up a weapon. But this time, I don’t need one, and neither does any one else.

The only way you could hurt anyone with that one would be to beat them to death with it, and I suspect that it’d fall apart before you got that part done.

    1. Hi Jeff,

Thanks for making that point without insulting me. Which is what about 5 people have done, so far. 🙄

      Point taken. 😀

It just the whole Jihadist writings thing that bugged me. That’s all. 😡

      -Pat 😀

  2. FWIW, I hope they find something that is worthy of prosecution. I already said that if I hear someone combine an Islamic name and the words “Rocket Launcher”, I’m reaching for a firearm first, and then asking “where”?

And truthfully, since I don’t know what else was there, I may be being a bit harsh in saying “overreaction”. But you have to keep a sense of proportion, and cranking up the Bomb Squad and the Media over an empty AT-4 tube is not what I’d consider to be an example of levelheaded thinking.

The AT-4 tube alone would get you a search warrant, in almost any jurisdiction. They’re as harmless as a feather pillow, basically, but they scare people, and most judges don’t know that they are not re-loadable. You don’t have to call out the bomb squad and get the gun fearing sheep in the media all worked up. There’s plenty of time to do that when you make the arrest, if you can find grounds to do so.

Otherwise, they should have just shut up and started surveillance of the individual involved.

He now knows they are looking, and can destroy the evidence that would send him up.
