I can be accused of many things. But being accused of not listening to what people say, is not one of them.

Someone over at Freedom’s Phoenix complained about the fact that this Blog had too many ads. At first, I dismissed it.

But after thinking about it, I had to admit, he was kinda right.

So, I’ve made some changes, I’ve gotten rid of some ads. Actually, I have gotten rid of a ton of them.

Only Advertisements left are BlogAds, which pay me, when someone wants to run an ad here. Which is a nice service.

The only others now are AdToll, Adsense, Adbrite and Project Wonderful which is an Ad bid system.

Gone are the ads from Commission Junction and Linkshare, which were pay per action ads, that were not paying me a dime.

Hopefully this improves the expereince of those coming from Freedom’s Phoenix. I mean, I have to make some money at this. Capitalism is America, after all.

I did have another posting on here, basically giving quite a long story about why I’m asking for donations.

Well, some smart-mouthed person, who seems to think that she’s “God’s appointed” judge and jury of people like me, left a rather nasty comment. Needless to say, she got told what I thought of her and her attitude.

Anyhow, I’ll spare you the story and just say it.

I could use some donations. There are 3 options on the left and one on the right. Use them liberally. You can also take out ads on BlogAds. 9 slots are available, per side. My rates are cheap. I also have adspace available via adtoll, adbrite and adsense.

I am about to sign off here and hit the rack (or in english, go to bed :P) So, if this blog doesn’t update till some time in the afternoon, that’s why.

If you happen to notice changes to the looks. It’s because I’m fiddin’ around with the new theme. I want to look a bit different then default.

So, The header photo will be changing as will be colors.

Well, hey it is my blog after all. 😛

The old theme or template was nice, but there were a couple of thingamabobs that didn’t work with this version of wordpress; which will work with this one.

Plus, this one is much wider, more real estate to the edges of the screen, it looks better on my laptop. 😀

Plus the old one was too, uhm, Red? I’m a Conservative-minded person, but the color is associated with Republicans and Republicanism (is that even a word??) I’m a bit more independent than that.

Anyhow, this theme has a crap-load of stuff that can be configured, I mean who ever did this theme went whole hog. (So to speak…)

Anyhow, hope you like my new look. 😀

I have to go grocery shopping with my Dad. Putting comments on Moderate until I return.

Update: I’m back! 😀

It seems someone has gotten ahold of my credit card number and has used it to make a unauthorized purchase.

So, I have called and canceled the card, and will be getting a new one.

I’ve also reported the fraudulent transaction.

So, hold your fire on paypal and the other service, until I can get this straightened out.

Advertisements via the various providers is available as normal.

This posting will remain sticky until the problem is resolved.

Update: Well, it turns out, that it wasn’t fraud. It was a mistake on my part. I ordered something from PBS and when I did, I checked a box, that I should not have. In doing so, I ended up signing up for something, that I should not have. Anyhow, I got a refund and now, I have to wait on a new card. Moral of this story is, Read the fine print! D’oh!

Update #2: I took this off sticky, because it sorta dawned on me that I can take donations, I just cannot transfer the funds to my bank account, until I get my new card and enter the info.

I had to kill the Nice theme I had, for some reason the comments button stopped working. I think one of my widgets was causing an issue. I found a nice template, but it was causing errors. So….

I gotta find a new theme or something here.

So, while I’m hunting, you’ll have to look at the default theme. 😛

I know, it sucks. But for now, it will have to do. 😀

I just made a rather interesting discovery.

That the “Listen Button” which allowed users to listen to my Blog postings was not working properly, it was only playing about less than half of my blog postings.

So, I tossed it.

Maybe at a later date, if they fix thier plug in, I will reinstall it.
