Living Proof that Liberals are classless assholes

Growing up in Massachusetts, I know first-hand about the Kennedy legacy and appreciate what the family means to this state… in good times and bad. Even so, it has been amazing to see ALL the people who have turned out to pay their respects to Senator Kennedy… lining the streets of Boston for the procession… standing in line for hours to walk past his casket. Given the outpouring, it really was quite a shock to see one of the Kennedys flipping someone the bird during the procession for Senator Kennedy in Boston on Thursday.

Our photographer just happened to be focused on the limo carrying the young Kennedy woman right when she made the obscene gesture near Fanueil Hall. The woman in question appears to be 21 year old Rose Schlossberg, the daughter of Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg and Edwin Schlossberg and granddaughter of former president John Fitzgerald Kennedy.

Our photographer was not close enough to know what happened to prompt Rose to do this, but it looks like she was responding to someone in the crowd. Who knows what rude comment she might have heard? In the video you can see someone nudge her right after it happens. Funerals are stressful for every family. When you live under the glare of the spotlight like the Kennedys, perhaps this funeral is even more stressful. But what was JFK’s granddaughter thinking? Cameras are always rolling when the Kennedys are around, especially when there’s a procession for Great Uncle Ted and tens of thousands of people turn out. What do you think? Inappropriate gesture on a solemn day or no big deal?

Yes it was inappropriate and classless. But, then again, are not all Democrats? 🙄

Thank goodness The Times is the forthright, ethical institution that it is.

And when a mistake happens, it rushes to set the journalistic record straight with an honest repair.

Here is an actual correction from Page A4 of today’s print edition:

TV listings: The Prime-Time TV grid in Thursday’s Calendar section mistakenly listed MTV’s “Jackass” show on the MSNBC cable schedule at 7 and 10 p.m. where instead MSNBC’s “Countdown With Keith Olbermann” should have been listed.

It’s not the Worst Mistake in the World.

But without this kind of correction, online too, a few thousand people might have tuned into MSNBC, the Obama administration’s favorite cable channel, expecting to see a “Jackass” show, and instead they’d have found Olbermann.

Worse, what if nobody noticed the difference?

Obama’s Wee Wee Redux

The White  House trying to explain Obama’s little wee wee comment.

“It’s a phrase I use,” White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said today, hesitating at his press briefing to offer a physical demonstration of the phraseology.

“Let’s do this in a way that’s family friendly,” Gibbs said. “I think ‘wee-weed up’ is when people get all nervous for no particular reason….

“August of 2008, everybody was nervous about whether the entire presidential campaign was slipping out from the hands of the president,” Gibbs said, turning the page to this August, in which all the president’s critics are declaring his health-care initiatives in peril. “This is sort of an August pundit pattern of people getting overly nervous about something that has a long way to go…

“Bedwetting would probably be the more consumer-friendly term for it,” the press secretary said.

Personally, I think this idea is not too bright. Mainly because it is encouraging to submit their e-mails to the United States Government. Which, quite frankly, I am not interested in doing. But it’s a noble idea; I guess.

The very funny thing is, that Pajamas Media is Jewish owned and operated and, you guessed it, is very “Neo-Conservative” it’s foreign policy. We traditional Conservatives know, that most Wilsonian Republicans and Conservative are kind of down with idea of Big Government; Just ask George W. Bush,  so, submitting their e-mail addresses just sort of confirms that.

I just love reading other people’s Blog. You read some of the funniest stuff sometimes. This time it is Robert Stacy McCain:

BTW, Cynthia called me this afternoon to say she was going to a townhall meeting with Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.).

“What should I ask him?” she said.

“Look, you’re well-informed on the issues. Just pay attention to what he says, and what questions other people are asking, and I’m sure you’ll think of something good to ask. . . . You’re a natural-born troublemaker.”

She was in kind of a hurry and said she didn’t have time to take a shower before going to the meeting. So I figure if Cardin gives her the run-around, the headline will be:

The Two Sides of Tammi

First there is the funny. This, I feel is the quote of the year; or at least the month!

Finally back at the office we’re finishing up one of the reports in my office. Now, I’m right on the street side. Every damned semi that drive by sounds like it’s coming THROUGH my window. One time, it was particularly loud and my guy jumps.

Him – Damn….that’s annoying as hell.

Me – yeah…figures. Only I would be given an office with a vibrator.

It was at that point I announced it was time for everyone to go home. I had completely lost my ability to think or speak clearly….

Then there is the completely serious and quite sad, of Tammi.  It is the story of how Tammi lost her Dad. I read this originally in 2005, when Tammi first posted it. I nearly lost it then and I still get misty-eyed when I read it. Tammi’s a tough lady; she’s been through royal hell. She has my respect.

It just shows you how someone, who has been through hell and back, can have a good sense of humor. I God Bless her for that. 🙂

Answering Matt Mullenweg’s Snark filled Rant

Matt Mullenweg and I have had words in the past.  I am sure that he is a great guy; but there are times when stuff comes out of his mouth; well, in this case, from his Keyboard, that send me into a rage.

Instead of getting angry and flipping my cork on him. I figure I will answer his Blog posting on the things, that I am assuming that he finds highly annoying.

…and off we go!

There have been a number of new platforms popping up recently that claim to increase your user engagement, get you more comments, increase your traffic, and more, through means that I consider short-sighted and harmful. Since people seem not to mind, I thought I’d write a guide for how to increase the number of comments you get by 400-1,000% and ruin whatever shred of community you had on your site.

Man…. you think we can get a bit more snark in there, please? 😉
