“Maybe the passage of time will provide some opportunity for him,” said one Washington lawyer who was aware of an inquiry to his firm from a Gonzales associate. “I wouldn’t say ‘rebuffed,’ ” said the lawyer, who asked his name not be used because the situation being described was uncomfortable for Mr. Gonzales. “I would say ‘not taken up.’ ”

Honestly the only people freaking out about this, are the Far Right Wing Conservatives and the Hillary supporters. Which I think is stupid, did he insult people? No. Did he possibly say something in a bad manner? Yes. But people are acting like he just insulted the damn pope or something! Which I think speaks volumes for the people insulted, if you ask me. and that last part, that some people are going ape over, was, in fact, a joke. I think some turban headed pundits, need to find something else to bitch about. Things must be slow over there at a well known, pseudo-Conservative Blog, and they’re now grasping at straws. Bush and his clan of Neo-Conservative, war-mongering, thugs have disgraced America, Disgraced the Republican Party, possibly to the point of never, ever, being able to gain access to the White House, for the next four to six years or possibly and quite frankly, hopefully, for longer than this. Why? All because a very simple minded man, who felt he needed to out accomplish his Father, and in the process has put the United States of America in one of it’s worse positions in foreign relations, in it’s many years of existence as a Nation.

 

Now it would be easy, to dismiss me as some disenfranchised, Anti-American, Liberal with an attitude, but allow me to make some very valid points here. When the John Birch Society, Writers at NewsWithViews.com, WorldNetDaily, like Dr. W.R. Marshall, Ph.D, Cliff Kincaid, Chuck Baldwin, Devvy Kidd, Joseph Farah, Ilana Mercer are saying that the President of the United States of America has abused his powers, disgraced the Nation and totally ignored the Constitution all for his perverted and rather narrow sighted political view, then something is very wrong.

 

And yet, the Republicans just continue to sit, like mindless trolls and continue to allow this man to completely and abjectly, lie to them and tell them that he is protecting America.  All because of a now dead, half baked, Former Democrat, Former President told some reporters, "Thou Shall not speak against thy fellow Republicans".  I am sorry, But I do not, for one second, believe that Ronald Reagan meant that you should sit idly by and watch as some criminal warmonger destroys America, the values it was based upon and the Constitution that serves, as the very underpinnings of founding principles of this Nation.

 

I will end this rather lengthy Blog entry, turned editorial with this thought, if the Republican Party and Conservatives in America do not wake up to the fact that they have been betrayed, lied to, and double crossed by the most evil of persons, within the Conservatives and within the Republican Party. The Republican Party will, in fact, go the way of the Whig Party of old.

 

I truly hope that they awake from their slumber before then.

Plus his comments about Guns and Religion tend to alienate people that support the Second Amendment and Christians, plus people who want our borders security.

I’m still traveling and so have only a little bit of time to comment, but The Hill is reporting that the GOP is de-prioritizing their efforts to enact the Rockefeller/Cheney FISA bill:

"House Republicans are poised to shift their focus from national security to the economy, hoping to rally opposition to what they claim are Democratic plans to raise taxes amid the economic downturn.

 

Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) is expected to announce Thursday that the House GOP floor emphasis will transition away from passing the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) and earmark reform to "stop the tax hike.""

I tend to think that the Republicans, at least the ones in the Senate realize that they are not going to win this fight and that it could cost them some serious votes in the coming election. So, I tend to think they’ve changed their priorities. 

 

Unlike some of the more of the ardent Right Wingers or as the rest of the World calls them, the Right Wing Lunatic Fridge, I know that if these companies get immunity, America’s Justice system would be totally undermined. Now, do I believe that the Bush Administration broke the law? I do not know that, as I have zero proof of such claim. 

 

My feelings are, if the Bush Administration has done nothing wrong, then what do they have to hide? If they’ve done nothing wrong, they should not have a problem with the investigations or lawsuit, because they would be vindicated.

 

Unlike some of the more far right Conservatives, I do not believe that Corporate power should be protected. Every American, of any Religious persuasion, and yes, that does include Muslim, have the right to legal recourse, if they feel that they’ve been unfairly investigated. That is one of our Nation’s founding principles.

McCain closes Obama’s lead in a poll…..that includes "leaners"….

An interesting poll, taken by the Associated Press-Ipsos shows that McCain is basically tied with Obama.

An AP-Ipsos poll taken in late February had Obama leading McCain 51-41 percent. The current survey, conducted April 7-9, had them at 45 percent each. McCain leads Obama among men, whites, Southerners, married women and independents.

 

Clinton led McCain, 48-43 percent, in February. The latest survey showed the New York senator with 48 percent support to McCain’s 45 percent. Factoring in the poll’s margin of error of 3.1 percentage points, Clinton and McCain are statistically tied.

 

However, here’s the thing that kind of makes this poll a joke:

 

Although the race between Clinton and Obama remained unchanged, there were a few shifts in whom voters are choosing:

 

• The gender gap has mostly disappeared, with Clinton losing her advantage among women. In February, 51 percent of Democratic women supported Clinton while 38 percent were for Obama. Now they’re statistically tied at 44 percent for Clinton, 42 percent for Obama. That is partially offset by a decline in male support for Obama, down 7 points to 50 percent, while Clinton gained 10 points among men. She is now at 42 percent.

 

• Obama and Clinton are now statistically about even among households earning under $50,000. In late February, Clinton led 54 percent to 37 percent, but now it is just 48 percent to 41 percent.

 

• Obama now leads Clinton among self-described moderate Democrats, 51 percent to 35 percent. Previously they were 45 percent Clinton, 40 percent Obama.

 

The poll questioned 1,005 adults nationally. Included were interviews with 489 Democratic voters and people leaning Democratic, with a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4.4 points; and 369 Republicans or GOP-leaning voters, with a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 5.1 points.

 

I mean, how fixed can a poll be? If that wasn’t a bad poll, I don’t know what is. Rolling EyesFrustrated

 

Leaning?!?!?! That could mean anything, how do we know those people weren’t lying?

 

I really do not think that this will really matter, the general public and those paying attention, know the John McCain is going to be equated with Bush and his Policies and people will not vote for him. Obama will win, I think, I would be wrong. But I highly doubt people will vote for him.

That’s the saddest thing I have ever had to watch. I think Senator Barack Obama needs to publicly condemn this, there’s just no call for it.

Go see what I am talking about. I think that’s the reason why the main stream media hates us Bloggers so much. I doubt one could argue the fact that most Bloggers, especially Political Bloggers, like me, always feel the need to be right and to get the last word.

 

To me, watching a Blog war, is like watching a roman conquest. Flaming boulders being shot back and forth, it’s quite amazing. Grown people, squabbling like children.

Except that in making this pitch, Petraeus and Crocker overplayed their hand. They overstated the threat posed by al-Qaeda in Iraq in an effort to justify the mission — a mindset that has generated a deeply flawed strategy. They also overplayed the surge’s success — downplaying or discounting factors that likely did more to create today’s improved security conditions. While their "Anaconda" strategy looks cool on a PowerPoint slide, it confuses the issues of control and influence, putting too much stock in America’s ability to engineer success in Iraq. And, perhaps most tellingly, the two men made the case for perseverance without placing Iraq in the context of vital U.S. national interests, offering only apocalyptic predictions of what would happen if we don’t stay the course.

Andrew Sullivan weighs in:

But that was their carefully prescribed task. I don’t fault them. They’re not responsible for overall strategy. At one point last year, I was worried that Petraeus was being used politically. I was wrong. He’s been a magnificent general, in a near-impossible situation. Ditto Crocker. Along with Patrick Fitzgerald, they strike me as among the most impressive public servants of our time.

 

Now that is a bit overstated, I think, Because I personally believe that General Patraeus is, in the Bush Administration’s eyes, a pawn. A Pawn in a Neo-Conservative chess game.

 

While I admire Patraeus for doing his job, I think he knows what he is doing. He’s keeping his head down, and doing his job, and when the President is out of office. He will write a book, that will basically indict his bosses. I could be wrong, but I think General Patraeus is holding his cards to his vest and will tell all, when it’s all over with.

 

Should be interesting indeed.

Contrary to what the Liberals want you to believe, The story of McCain going to blows with another senator is old news, that has been reported a few times already.

During today’s White House press briefing, deputy spokesman Tony Fratto admitted that the White House has, at least up until recently, been looking at Iraq through “rose-colored glasses.” Responding to a question about the rising violence in Iraq, Fratto said, “I think we have thrown out all of the rose-colored glasses in how we look at Iraq and try to look at it through clear lenses as to what is going on in the country.” Fratto later added: “Like I said, we threw out the rose-colored glasses. I think we have a clear-eyed view of what’s happening in Baghdad.”

A classic example of recycle the rumor….

Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain’s intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain’s hair and said, "You’re getting a little thin up there." McCain’s face reddened, and he responded, "At least I don’t plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt." McCain’s excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days.

The problem is, not a bit of it is true…. McRanger over at Macsmind weighs in:

The only problem is that the story is false. This tale first floated up around the 2000 election primary cycle but was quickly knocked down by Cindy herself in an interview in 1999. Further this article – while counting the ups and downs of McCain’s political career and marrage to Cindy makes no mention of the event.

You would think if true this story would have been old news by now. It’s doubtful Cliff Schecter got this from anything except the top of his head.

You know, I don’t agree with McRanger much, we’re not on the same page Politically, as I’m more right of center and he is, of course, a Republican. But I have to agree with with ol’ Mac here man, this story is quite hard to believe.

I tend to believe personally,  and I base this upon looking at photographs of Cindy McCain, I tend to believe that if John McCain would have gotten knocked flat of his back, had he said that to her.

I think sometimes, in the haste of trying to find dirt of the opponent, the Liberals and some Conservatives, jump the gun on a story, to smear someone.

The Clinton Tax Return – Gate

The only thing I have to say about it is this. The Clinton’s were successful people, I do not have a problem with that, at all. They went to college, got law degrees and were successful at it.

Does that bother me? Of course not! Sorry, I am just not one of those kind of people, who hold grudges against people who are successful in life. There are Liberals and some Conservatives like that, I am not.

If it makes anyone feel better, Keith Olbermann, The Liberal’s talking head, has a 5 year contact with MSNBC for 5 million dollars. So, I really do not see all the fuss over the Clinton’s wealth is.

This is, where I believe, that John Edwards blew it, he went around talking about two Americas, all the while being wealthy himself. I never saw that in Hillary, she was successful, because she worked for it. I cannot fault her for that.

My take on it is this, anyone that has the ability to go out and get a good education and make something of themselves and is able to amass that kind of wealth, I say, God Bless them, and I wish them the best. I do not have a problem with anyone being successful, as long as it is done in a honest manner.

That is one of the issues that I have with the progressives and far left liberals, and that is their contempt of anyone who is financially successful. The Anti-Capitalist mentality. Capitalism, sorry to say, is the American way. Honest capitalism is even better.

This whole idea of "Give me something, for nothing", I believe is anti-American, It seeks to punish those who are successful. It forces those who have made something of themselves to surrender their wealth to those who want something for nothing.

Just my take on it.

I was checking out the news items going around this morning and I happen to come upon an Op-Ed Article in the Washington Post by E. J. Dionne Jr. I understand also that Mr. Dionne has some of his facts wrong. That is the one thing about Op-Ed pieces; they are strictly opinion and opinion alone.

I honestly believe that the only thing that I really have to interject to this ongoing conversation is this; I personally believe that Liberalism lost it’s moment, after the murders of JFK, RFK and MLK in the sense that the mainstream, more centrist progressives became replaced with more far left liberals, the anti-God, anti-moral values, zealot types. I have noticed this in this election cycle, which Liberalism has become nastier, it is more than just a difference of political opinion; it is more of outright utter hatred of anything even remotely conservative! A perfect example of this would be the far lefty-liberal Blog, the Daily KOS.

I also believe that the original message of Martin Luther King Jr., was hijacked by group of individuals, who did not want to see equal rights for all, but rather a national black majority in which the blacks rule the land and white men cower in fear. So far, they have about accomplished this. In other words, the peaceful message of equality of Martin Luther King Jr. was replaced with the domination messages of Malcolm X. This is quite commonly known as identity politics, mingled with Black Nationalism, recently brought to light by the so-called “reverend” Jeremiah Wright.

COULTER: No, I understand we have spent 10 years building up a hatred for the Clintons. And frankly, when I endorsed her, I was secretly pleased that it seemed to kill her nomination.

However, she’s not obsessed with being called a maverick by The New York Times, like — oh, who could I think of? Yes, John McCain. She’s not obsessed with waterboarding and stopping waterboarding, and given the glint in her eye, I think she’d like torturing them. Have you seen that woman give a speech? I think she would enjoy torturing them at Guantánamo.

CARLSON: They play those at Gitmo.

COULTER: She doesn’t run around saying we’ve got to shut down Guantánamo. So I think I’ve just made the case. What do you have to say?

Message to the Far Right Wing lunatic fringe trolls who visit this blog

Earlier today, I posted a picture that I thought would be of interest to the American people.

Well, as expected, some anonymous Far Right Wing lunatic fringe tool left a rather nasty comment here on my Blog.

I won’t get into the specifics as to what was said, as I don’t wish to give this feckless coward any more attention than he really deserves.

But I will say this, if you are going to leave a message here, saying the the stuff that you did, you are not going to leave it here anonymously. Sorry, this is my space, my blog, my domain, if you are going to criticize me and/or leave abusing comments, you’re going to have to either register with Blogger and leave full information or a valid URL or e-mail address.

Any messages of any kind of threatening nature will be reported to Google support and your IP Address reported to the proper authorities and YOU WILL be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law. I don’t play when it comes to that sort of stuff, at all, Period, end of story.

No, he didn’t threaten to kill me or anything of that nature, but he was quite nasty and as usual when it comes to people of his ilk, wrong about me and my political stance.

However, to be fair, I am quite aware, that this sort of hatemongering and nastiness exists on both sides of the political aisle. So, this doesn’t surprise me at all. Let’s just say, that I’ve been there and done that, more than once.

Now, I am sure there will be those who will accuse me of being a Liberal for posting this.

Quite honestly, I could give a flying flip what those close-minded, ignorant, fools think really.

Every time I read some idiotic tripe, which is usually written by some racist bigot, saying that Martin Luther King Jr. was a Communist, I just want to rip that persons head off. Sad part is, most Republicans believe that nonsense.

Funny thing is, the same Republicans that derided Martin Luther King Jr. Deride Al Sharpton. Honestly? I’m not a fan of the guy either. Not because of his skin color, because he’s hi-jacked the civil rights movement. As has Jesse Jackson. But I strong suspect the motives of the Conservatives who love to run those two in the ground.

I present these videos, not in support of any particular political party. I present them for their historical value, the man changed the south, no Republican or Conservative can deny that, not at all. In fact, I will go on record as saying, any Conservative that says anything cross against this man, exposes him or herself as the racist bigot that they truly are.

The reason why I ask this question is because, wasn’t it the Conservatives who want absolutely crazy over Senator Barack Obama’s Pastor?

Page after page after page, and we’re supposed to sit here and listen to this rubbish about a religion of peace, and every day Bush brings in thousands of more of these throwbacks — throwbacks wearing medieval costumes, walking around, spitting on the ground every time they see a Christian, or a Jew, or a so-called infidel. These throwbacks think they’re better than you underneath it all, and 90 percent of them are on welfare. Ninety percent of them come in here, and all they do is breed more bombers. More bombers, and more bombers! And you’re telling me this is a sane country? There, I gave it to you from the bottom of my heart. If you don’t like it, it’s too damn bad. Go write the FCC.
