Another Police Shooting in Pittsburgh, Man Paranoid about Obama, Liberal Bloggers Blame Conservative Media

This is sad. 🙁

Pittsburgh police say a man wearing a bulletproof vest opened fire on officers during a domestic disturbance call, killing three of them.

Police chief Nate Harper says the motive for Saturday’s shooting isn’t clear.

Friends say the gunman recently had been upset about losing his job and that he feared the Obama administration was poised to ban guns.

The three dead officers are Eric Kelly, Stephen Mayhle and Paul Sciullo III. Kelly had been on the force for 14 years and the other two only two years each.

Another officer was shot in the hand and a fifth broke his leg on a fence.

The gunman, 23-year-old Richard Poplawski, was arrested after a four-hour standoff.

It’s sad, but it is also sick; it seems now that some Liberal Bloggers are now blaming the Conservative media for this shooting. Which I think is a bunch of bull crap. As much as I know that it ticks off  the left, but the truth of the matter is this. If someone is going to grab a gun and kill someone, they are going to do it regardless if they listen to Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Randi Rhoads or Stephanie Miller.

The point here is this, this dude and the dude in New York had issues, seriously bad mental issues. The sad part is, that he had access to firearms. The State of Michigan and I assume the State of New York and Pennsylvania have very good gun laws that keep people from getting guns that have diagnosed mental illnesses. However, it cannot stop people who have issues that are not diagnosed. I mean, the Government is not a mind reader.  The sad part is, that Liberals are going to use this as some sort of sick excuse to rally for more Governmental regulation and stripping of our Gun rights. I am afraid that is this simply not the answer.

The truth of the matter is that there are mentally ill people out there and they are going to do stuff like this, it is just a fact of life. I just do not buy the idiotic notion that the Conservative media, Glenn Back, Sean Hannity or any of the rest of them are to blame. There are millions of sane, rational people that listen to these programs on a daily basis and they have never done anything stupid like this.

Another thing that highly annoys me is this; is how the Media is trying to engage in the profiling of the shooter in New York. He is being described is a quiet type, who harbored some hatred towards America. Well, let me be the first to say that, I am, in fact, a quiet type. I’m not a Fred Flintstone type. I keep to myself, I’m not very outgoing at all. Hey, I am unemployed, except for this Blog. I don’t drive around wasting gas, it is called being smart and frugal. I feel like people with personalities like mine are simply unfairly being singled out.  There’s nothing wrong with being an introvert. We quiet people tend to be thinkers. I also, the portrait being painted about those who value their gun rights is totally unfair. I believe in the second amendment, if I were living along, I would own a gun, I would register it; as I believe in complying with the law.

I just do not understand why the Left Wing Media and the Liberal Bloggers are using two major tragedies like these to try and further an anti-gun agenda and a Conservative Media hysteria agenda. It does sort of remind me of the Jewish hysteria agenda that Hitler started in Germany.

Update: Flopping Aces makes a very valid point, in reaction to this here:

I’m sorry, didn’t hear that kind of statement when this happened.

Update #2: There is now a facebook page with a petition to get the shooting in PA; Richard Poplawski charged with Capital Murder. I’ve signed it, I suggest you do as well. No matter what political stripe you are, this guy commited murder. He should be punished with such.

  1. Isn’t anyone going to state the obvious, that acts of self-defense by a tyrannized population are NOT caused by “mental issues”… and that law enforcement should expect to become targets the more frequently they target the public…? I don’t feel any sympathy at this point for anybody who joins the police or military under the current regime. They deserve any act of retribution they get.

Mikester, I am going to respectfully disagree man. Because most of those guys are usually just doing their jobs. Yeah, there’s a few bad apples in the lot. But most of them are good people, just trying to make a living. I don’t have a attitude towards to the police.

But thanks for the comments. 🙂

      1. Paleo Pat, your ability/right to post such trash is maintained by those who knowingly put themselves in harms way every day. In that instance I’m referring to the military as the “police function” is to maintain order amongst the citizenry, not guard it against an onslaught from abroad. As far as police, I agree, just as in every society/group/organization/etc. there are bad apples, but Hollywood has sensationalized the rarity as the norm and in my opinion, you are drawing some of your conclusion based on that. On an obvious note, your stereotyping all police/military as deserving to die makes your narrow mindedness very apparent. Not everything is deserving of “V for Vendetta” retribution buddy.

        Signed,
        A policeman

    2. wow mikester,
Let me state the obvious: that’s just brilliant. your really good at rubbing people’s noses in it. they are all a part of the “regime”. That’s an awfully big word, you are so smart! Here’s another big word, dufus, google that one. Everyone out here is really hurt by your lack of sympathy because you are so self important. Your right, get rid of all the cops and the current regime. The world would be sooo much better. Good luck with that speeding ticket or whatever is up your butt. I’ll be busy praying for the kids that lost their daddies to this dumb ass. Good luck sticking it to the man, you are soooo brave.

And you know these guys had seriously bad mental issues because..? Well, how do you know that? Unemployed psychiatrist?

Maybe they’re just pissed off guys with guns.

    Nah. Too weird. Never happen.

    1. And you know these guys had seriously bad mental issues because..? Well, how do you know that? Unemployed psychiatrist?

Ha! I wish I was in some sort of trade like that, I might just have a job of some sort. Nope, I’m just a unemployed jack of all trades. Who just happens to have CDL-A, and still cannot find a job… 🙄

Maybe they’re just pissed off guys with guns.

Well, it could be. The snark did not get past me, trust me. But he could have just been freaked out. You’re correct, I don’t know all the facts about the guy. I just don’t want to blamed for something, that I personally had nothing to do with, ya know?

Anyhow, thanks for the comments, I allow liberals here, as long as your civil. 😀

      Again thanks! 🙂

  3. The Sex Offender Registries are the biggest threat to National Security – MUCH larger than Al Queda could ever HOPE to be. The sad thing is that nobody sees this ticking time bomb for what it truly is. Americans bury their heads in the sand rather than looking at this rationally. Do people TRULY believe that someone who is intent on committing further sex offenses is going to tell law enforcement agencies where they live, who they work for, what their e-mail addresses and on-line identities are while they are doing so? That is so proposterous! Look at every nationally publicized case where a known sex offender reoffended – 90% of the time they completely disregarded the laws. These laws ONLY make it impossible for those of us who ARE focused on doing the right things to live any semblance of a normal, healthy, stable life. By creating a group of some 700,000 hopeless people living lives full of despair and daily mental tolls we are creating a sub-culture of individuals who will have little value for life, their own or others. Many WILL lash out against society for that. Mark my words.

The police shooter in Pittsburgh this week was “depressed” because he lost his job recently – he didn’t know the meaning of the word depressed. One should try living under the daily burdens of this modern-day Scarlet Letter!

  4. This young man from Pittsburgh puts a black eye on our fore fathers by his statement that he is going to do what his fore fathers told him to do in the second ammendment. I do NOT think he read the second ammendment. He told his friend in a phone call that he was going to die today, he knew what he was doing was wrong and punked out in the end, he gave up. Now he will do life or better yet get a fast and easy death by leathel injection. He just gave the anti gun folks even more to use against the law abiding gun owners. He sickens me, he is the waste of a human life that took more than the three he killed, least we forget all the family and friends left behind and what this tool did to their lives.

  5. How can we be shure this is the whole story, why where the cops coming to begin with, Somthing to do with his mom thats not enough info, what where his previous run ins with the cops like. Have to see what else comes out with this before i can make any conclusions.

  6. We’re not safe while these predators are on the streets. They follow bad instructions, knowing that innocent people will die, they accept the training and go out on the streets. They carry weapons proven to be lethal, knowing they can kill, and using them in situations requiring non-lethal force… they lie for one another in such situtions, and have been caught numerous times only telling the truth once video of their activities surface, and majority have been chosen specifically for the inability to think critically, and their low IQ’s – both of which traits are considered desirable by those selecting the officers. Because the system is self-perpetuating itself as an oppressive force, and it is doing this openly and with our knowledge, it follows that those attracted to service are those who seek illegitimate power over their peers. They cannot claim innocence, they knew what they were getting into. Thus, they have marked themselves as guilty by choosing to wear the badge, and are fair targets for a tyrannized population. Oh and to whoever talked about the military have a police function domestically, WHAT PART OF POSSE COMITATUS DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND…? Military deployed on US soil, is a direct act of war by our government against us, and such personnel should be shot on sight.

    1. Military deployed on US soil, is a direct act of war by our government against us, and such personnel should be shot on sight.

I think it’s time for me to put back the disclaimer. 😀

I lost it, when it, when I upgraded the theme… Time to go put that back! 😀

    2. I agree Mikester, you would be an excellent candidate for a posse commitatus, you are just smarter than the rest of us, we just couldn’t let that happen. The system is self-perpetrating, woooo! It’s so scary here in the US. I suggest moving to Mexico where you can find some wonderful policing. Have a wonderful day in your town of Simpleton. Hope you enjoyed your attention. somebody needs a hug.

  7. This is a tragic story no doubt, but those who are quick to point out that the right to bare arms is the reason behind this really need to study the facts and do their homework. Guns don’t kill people, but rather people kill people. There are sadly enough mentally ill folks out there that are going to commit heinous crimes… face it everyone, like it or not, bad things are going to happen in life. People get cancer, there are plane crashes, people die. I’m not trying to downplay what happened, but such is life and the negatives in life must be accepted for what they are worth. We all live in a realisitc world, not an idealistic world. As silly as a notion as that may seem, I find myself always saying that when an issue such as this is brought up in discussion. In a country with over 300 million people, there are bound to be a few bad apples, but remember the chances of this type of thing happening are rather minute. It always amazes me how quickly people forget such simple notions.

Did these officers deserve to die? Of course not, they were brave men who did their job to the best of their abilities, but we all run the risk of dying each and every day we wake-up and carry out our daily tasks. I could easily have been killed in a car crash on my way to work today… that is a risk I take. If that were to happen, I doubt they would ban cars, trucks, or buses. The politicizing of this event is sad. I get very tired of Liberal arguments being made as soon as a window is opened, such as this tragic event. This guy was going to do this no matter what influenced him. He had a mental illness… a human being doesn’t kill another human being unless they have something seriously wrong in their brain. Conservative media had nothing to do with this, and to think otherwise is selfish, disrespectful, and flat out wrong.
