I’m writing for a simple reason: A lot of people in the conservative hive are dramatically underpricing their ads.
What’s correct pricing? For most bloggers, something in the 60 to 80 cent range CPM. Smaller bloggers would probably want to go with AT LEAST 50 cents per CPM. In fact, at some point, we may move up to a 50 cent per CPM minimum for everyone in the hive (Keep that in mind).
Now, I know ads have not been selling at a rapid pace at the start of the year — but happens every Jan and Feb — and cutting your rates down to ridiculously low levels, like 25 cents per CPM, isn’t going to sell more ads for you. In fact, as far as I can tell, there doesn’t seem to be much of a difference at all in the number of ads running on blogs that have 75 cent CPMs and blogs that have 25 cents CPMs. See for yourself.

I’m writing this now because sales are starting to pick up and are likely to continue to stay relatively strong through the end of the year. If you’re underpricing your ads, now is the time to raise your rates.
